"Who's Hotter?" Pride Month Event: Canon Trans Characters
The requester provided additional info about the characters trans identity, which is below the cut
Grelle Sutcliff: There's actually some debate about if she's truly transgender or not, due to some instances of contradictory evidence and ambiguity from official Black Butler sources. However, the vast majority of evidence within the manga itself points to her being a trans woman, so here she is.
Yamato: Yamato being a trans man has been a point of debate within the fandom, mostly due to (presumably) official sources outside of the manga describing him as a woman. However everything within the manga points to him being a trans man. The author as yet to comment on the discrepancy.
Okamaitachi: Is described as being born male, but being "a maiden at heart", which is a Japanese expression basically meaning she's a trans woman.
Yawara Chatora: Has been confirmed to be a trans man in an Omake. Transitioned in Thailand a while ago.
Giselle Gewelle: Danced around the subject in-story, but it appears to be trans woman based off of what the author said in a Q&A. Still heavily debated in fandom.
May Marigold: Explicitly said to be a trans woman in-story.

"why would you want to claim (insert anime character) for the trans community? They're a bad person beca-"
I don't appreciate this insistence that transgender people have to be a good person to be valid. Transgender people are just as likely to be good-for-nothing pieces of shit as everyone else. Why do we all have to be "pure soft good boys" to be enough for you? It's a fictional character anyways, why must they adhere to real life standards?
