It was better when the dragon came, thought Vimes. After it'd killed someone it was at least still a dragon. It went somewhere else but you could say: that's a dragon, that is. It couldn't nip over a wall and become just another person. You always knew what you were fighting.

The trick to not being discovered until it is too late is to become part of the expected surroundings. Stealth is more the art of blending in with the background than sneaking through dark shadows.

I have art for you for the first time in a while. Coming up in chapter 48, the Alvinnn Chipmunks and Chipettes attempt to blend in while trapped in the year 1989.
I look forward to making more art of them in these clothes, and some of them interacting with their 80s Cartoon selves too!

"Er, don't you think that you're a bit too smart to be a guard, Preston?"
Preston shrugged. "Well, the lads all think that I am useless," he said cheerfully. "They think that there's got to be something wrong with someone who can pronounce the word 'marvelous.'"
"But, Preston...I know you are very clever and sufficiently erudite to know the meaning of the word 'erudite.' Why do you sometimes pretend to be stupid--you know, like 'doctrine' and 'happy ass corp ass'?"
Preston grinned. "I was unfortunately born clever, miss, and I've learned that sometimes it's not such a good idea to be all that clever. Saves trouble."

So I know the reason I like masks is because you can’t see the facial expression or identity of the person underneath it
I wonder if the reason I like that is because I kinda wish I didn’t have to act all the time (via facial expressions or otherwise), either to avoid presenting the wrong message socially or to avoid receiving judgement that follows me (via being recognized elsewhere)
Idk. What do y’all think? Does that make any sense?
