riverclan — year twelve — newleaf

a wasting sickness afflicts the clans, and for reasons that will be explained there, rosestorm goes to thunderclan.

owlnose and yellowpaw die, yellowpaw presumably catching it from him.

rimekit, hackberrykit, and echokit also die.

birchpaw and pricklypaw are apprenticed to blizzardstep and sandclaw.

before the sickness hits, the clans also are hit by a great storm. during it, larchstorm has four kits, maplekit (mottled black tortoiseshell she-cat), gustkit (tom with white patches), galekit (spotted tom), and showerkit (black silver mackerel tabby tom with long fur). the kits are named after the storm.

(i'm aware this is how stormkit and oakkit are named in canon; that scene was very influential to my thoughts on how and why riverclan names cats.)

larchstorm dies. the clan will never know what happened.

fogfang becomes a warrior. hemlockpaw, juniperpaw, moonpaw, and pinepaw are apprenticed to nettlerun, orangepetal, softpelt, and aspenstar, respectively.

blizzardstep, madronakit, and redkit die.

fadewillow has six kits, sprucekit (white and red shaded tabby she-cat with long fur), dandelionkit (pale tom), shadekit (red, faint tabby tom), freckledkit (pale-marked red tom), slugkit (red tabby and white tom), and pinekit (white and red shaded tabby tom).

greypaw is given to bluestrike.

murusshadow dies.

cloudglow becomes a full seer.

larchstorm is exiled due to y'know imposter chicanery. pricklepaw is reapprenticed to nettlerun and made to train for an extra season because larchstorm was a traitor. or something.

(what did larchstorm do? uhh possibly have half-clan parents? i'm not decided. and don't feel like checking but i don't think slimfrost was from riverclan. oh — yeah definitely this. he's in windclan, nightstar and crowfeather's son. okay yeah that works.)

anyway.

splashpaw also dies.

frostpaw, mistpaw, and greypaw are apprenticed to squailear, sandclaw, and fadewillow.

blizzardstep has five kits, all toms: dawnkit (brown spotted tabby), madronakit (mottled red), leopardkit (white and tabby with spots), redkit (sepia red tom), and yellowkit (golden red tom).

okay, simple stuff first. needlepaw dies.

blizzardstep and nettlerun have a litter of kits: silverkit (mostly white tom), chinquapinkit (pale brown she-cat with stiff shoulders), and larchkit (dappled brown tom with darker legs and tail).

moving on, in some form of an accident, rosemaryheart is paralyzed near to her shoulders. pouncetail steps down as deputy in order to help care for her and mudfur. (who at nearly 15 years is the oldest cat in any clan because he just does not die.)

hawkfrost is kind of annoyed that his first deputy stepped down after less than a season, but he's not going to force pouncetail to serve, so he appoints dawnflower as deputy.

featherstar dies. does hawkstar kill her? that's a great question. he's upset about it, of course. but was he responsible?

he appoints pouncetail, featherstar's only surviving son as his deputy. has pouncetail had an apprentice? no one can remember.

oakdawn dies...probably in a battle. or a fishing accident.

blizzardstep and pinksong become warriors.

the nursery is hit with a serious wave of greencough, and vanillakit, fiddlekit, hailkit, and sprucekit die. poppypaw is the only kit to survive, and hawkstar apprentices her to pinefang.
