CHIGIRI TICKLE FIGHT PLS
AHHHH HECK YEAH!!! :D I love Chigiri so much kajrekajrjkeajkrje You know- I've been having such brain rot over Platonic!Isagiri lately! I don't often write just the two of them, but something said "Do it, Squiggily so I did! I hope you like it :D
Cloud 9 (Taglist Peeps):
@myreygn, @cupcake-spice13 @chibisstuff @imjusthere07 @riisada
It started as a  comment.
“Isagi’s the most ticklish person here!”
Freezing mid stretch, Isagi felt his face flush bright red when all eyes fell on him. “H-Huh? Bachira!”
“It’s true! I’ve tickled just about everyone in Team Z, and you’re the most sensitive.” The dribbler grinned, pushing up his imaginary glasses as he pointed at him. “You get giggly even before I touch you!”
“That’s because he likes it when you tickle him.” Kunigami mentioned, earning a small chorus of giggles and coos that made Isagi’s face burn. “But yeah, sorry man. You’re definitely the worst one here.”
“Oh come on, you’re saying I’m the most ticklish when he’s right there?” Isagi gestured dramatically at Chigiri. The redhead was on his way out- likely to escape the oncoming antics- when he froze mid step. “Chigiri is way more ticklish than me!”
“Hmm… he’s got a point.” Gagamaru nodded. “Princess is pretty ticklish.”
“Yeah! When you tickle him, he  sounds like a mouse!” Naruhaya agreed, giggling in his hands. “He’s so squeaky, it’s adorable!”
“Isagi’s cute too when he laughs!” Bachira reminded with a grin. “His dimples come out when he laughs!”
“Oo, dimples. Hard to beat that.” Kuon let out a low whistle, Raichi nodding sagely nearby.
“Princess hiccups if you tickle him long enough.” Kunigami’s added detail further spurred the debate across the team, the question of “who’s more ticklish” quickly delving into “Who reacts cuter?”, leaving Isagi feeling slightly dizzy from all the chatter. In the corner of his eye, he watched Chigiri slip away.
After a brief moment, he decided to follow.
~~~
“Hey…sorry about that.” Isagi greeted him in the recording room, Chigiri’s usual spot to go whenever he felt overwhelmed or moody. “I didn’t mean to drag you into it.”
“No, you did. But it’s fine.” Chigiri shrugged, patting a seat beside him. Isagi took it graciously. “They were likely to bring me up at some point.”
With a hum, they fell quiet, both still reeling from the other’s comments. Isagi was sure his face would never cool down, but from the looks of things, Chigiri’s own cheeks were still bright red. At least he wasn’t alone.
“So um…who do you think it is? The more ticklish out of the two of us?” He didn’t know why he asked. Maybe his curiosity won out.
“Ugh, you too?” Chigiri groaned, but there was no discomfort in his tone. If anything, he sounded weary yet amused. “I mean, if I had to choose, I’d say you. Everyone tickles you way more.”
Did he…sound kinda disappointed just now? Wait- what did he just say?
“Hold on, hold on- what do you mean it’s me?” He puffed, feeling a bit indignant. “You’re definitely more ticklish! At least I try to fight back, you give up almost instantly!”
“No point in fighting, it wastes energy.” Chigiri grinned from behind his folded hands, giggling some. “Besides, you’re way louder. You sound like a screaming chicken.”
“A screaming-” Isagi clutched his pearls, gaping at the other with a mock gasp. “Chigiri Hyoma!”
“Close your mouth before a bug flies in.” Isagi snapped his jaw shut, narrowing his eyes. His attempt of a glare only made the redhead laugh more, and if he wanted to laugh so much…
“You know- why do we even bother asking? I’ll prove it now!” Isagi reached out, grabbing Chigiri’s sides and squeezing before the other could react. “Let me show you why you’re the more ticklish of the two of us!”
“Ah! Aheahahhhaa, Iihihihiihsagi!” Chigiri’s quiet giggles quickly melted into squeaks, his hands slapping over his mouth in an attempt to muffle the sound. “Noohoohoho, dohoohohn’t!”
“Just admit you’re more ticklish, and I’ll stop.” Grinning, the brunette scooted closer on his knees, spreading his fingers so they covered more surface area. “Unless you don’t want me to stop, that is.”
Chigiri’s ears matched his hair. Ah, so he was right afterall. “Dohohoohon’t sahahhhay thahahhahhat! Aheahhahhahhaa, Ihihihihihishahahahahgi! Geahhahahaha-ahehahahhah whahahhahait dohohoohohohohn’t!” The redhead jerked away with a short squeal when Isagi poked at his hip, his hands shooting down to bat him away.
He really did sound like a mouse when he squeaked. Huh. It was kinda cute.
“Hehe, Prince mouse.” Isagi teased, grinning at the sound. He poked a few more times as he eyed Chigiri’s knees, knowing just how ticklish he was there. “Maybe I should-”
Before he could even finish his teasy comment, the tables were turned! Isagi yelped out a startled laugh when fingers grabbed at his sides, quick and nimble against his ribs. “Whoa! Whoohhoa thehehere, hahahang ohooho-ahahhahahahhahahan!” Isagi all but giggled when the tickles increased, making him scoot back. “Chiihihihigihihihiri!”
“Eheheh! Gohooht you now!” The redhead snickered, clearly delighted. His famous speed kicked in as he quickly pushed Isagi on his back, scratching along his sides with those damn manicured nails the team loved to tease him about. “Not so cocky when you’re the one being tickled, are you?”
“Pfft- gehahahahahahhahaha! Sohoohohon of ahahhhahahhaha- AH! Nohohohohooohohohho!” Isagi shoved his fist in his mouth when Chigiri pinched along his lowest set of ribs, barely muffling a shriek. “Dohohohoohhon’t, thehehehhell hehehehhar uhuuhuhuhus!”
“Better not squawk then.”
Isagi would have flipped him off had he not been fighting for his life, one hand trying and failing to fight back while the other pressed firmly against his giggly lips, trying to muffle the sound. He did NOT sound like a squawking chicken, thank you very much-
“EHEHEHHE NOHOHOHO!”
….Okay, maybe Chigiri had a point.
“Wow! You’re so ticklish here!” The redhead laughed along with him, thumbs pressing into the deadly spot while the rest of his fingers scritched and scratched along his waist. At some point his sweatshirt rolled up, Chigiri’s hands attacking the bare skin without any hesitation. “I bet Bachira loves hearing you laugh; you should have seen his face when he talked about your dimples. Hm.” Leaning in some, he squinted in the darkness to look at Isagi’s face. “Ah, and there they are.”
“AHHEHAHAH DOOHOOHN’T LOHOHOHOOOHOK!” Isagi cried, covering his face with his hands as he desperately tried to scoot away. If his face got any hotter, he was gonna explode! “CHIHIHIHIGIRIIHIIHIHI!”
“Give up? Are you ready to admit you’re more ticklish?” Ah, the consequences of his actions.
“NEHEHEHHEVER!” With a sudden boost of strength, he wrapped his legs around Chigiri’s hips, twisting and sending him tumbling off him. “Whoohoha, you goohoohod?”
The redhead looked a bit dazed but nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine-WHOA!” His words were cut off when Isagi lunged, attacking him once more before resuming his own tickling. “Ihihihihiihsagihihiihihihi!”
“AH! Ahehehahahah you freahahaking chehehhahhater!”
~~~
“Eheh…hehe…so whhooho won?” Isagi groaned, his body ragdoll like as he laid beside Chigiri.
“Pfft…tie?” He offered, hair falling in his face and nearly blinding him. With a lazy shove, he moved it out of the way, only for it to fall back in his face. “I forgot what we were even fighting about.”
“Heh.” Isagi grinned, reaching out and flicking the long strands away for him. “It doesn’t matter anyway. I had fun.” He paused, considering. “We should do this more often.”
“Have one on one tickle fights in the recording room while the rest of the team’s away? Careful, I might think you’re coming on to me.” Chigiri raised a brow. Isagi flipped him off, earning a snort and a grin.
“No, dumbass! I mean- we should hang out more. You and I.” He nodded, feeling more confident after finally voicing it. “Whenever we do, it’s usually with everyone else. Me and Bachira, you and Kunigami- don’t get me wrong; I like the guys.”
“Bachira especially.”
“Bachira especially.” Isagi ignored how warm his cheeks got at that. “The point is- we like similar enough things, and talking to you is nice. The last time we had a real one on one is when you told me about your knee. And now this…I don’t know- I think I just want more nice moments like this.” He gestured between them with his hand. “That’s probably weird, huh?”
Chigiri was quiet, letting the words fall between them and settle. For a moment, Isagi wondered if he had fallen asleep at one point, but then..
“I’d like that.” Chigiri nodded, a small shy smile pulling on his lips. “If you’d have me.”
“Okay, now you’re the one sounding like a shoujo protagonist.” Isagi grinned, earning muffled giggles from the redhead.
They’d have to head back to the room soon. He knew Bachira was likely waiting for him, already tucked into his futon if not lying partially on Isagi’s. Kunigami would greet them as usual before stealing back Chigiri, the two in their own little world once more. Raichi and Gagamaru would argue about snoring again while Kuon tries to pacify them, and Naruhaya would start a pillow fight as soon as the lights went out.
He looked forward to returning, but for now he just wanted to be here- sharing the quiet space Chigiri resonated in as they traded quick remarks and silly thoughts beneath the lights of the various recordings around them.
Thanks for reading!

Hiori’s strong suit is his cool-headed vision and ball control. He can become an anchor on the frontlines... a technician of stillness! Nobody is expecting Hiori to be able to beat anyone in a 1-on-1. We’re expecting him to line everything up for us... for a perfect pass.
Clashing with everything head-on... isn’t the only way to show your ego.
IT’S HIORI YŌ’S BIRTHDAY! 🐏

I gotta say, as much as I normally sympathize more with Reo, reading chapter 13 of epinagi and rereading the main manga at the same time makes me feel for Nagi, too.
Seeing just how often Nagi's thoughts go to Reo, his reasons for snapping at him after the 3v3 makes so much more sense. In Nagi's narration, it's obvious that he holds a lot of respect to Reo as a player, other than a friend. Every time he faces a challenging opponent or sees a great play, his mind always goes to him. When he's not wishing to show Reo all these amazing things, he's reminding himself and others that they must keep challenging strong opponents to justify having left Reo behind. One way or another, their promise is always very present in his mind, and he's giving it his all to make it come true.
But then they run into each other in the baths and Reo is acting suddenly cold. He doesn't want to hear about Nagi's efforts, and he calls him a rival. It would be so easy to take offense to that, to assume—like Reo did—that the other has forgotten about their promise. But it's not here that Nagi's temper snaps. Instead, he takes it in stride, and actually looks kind of fired up for the chance of facing a Reo who will go all out. After all, Nagi understand wanting to take on strong guys, and through this and other subtle details, it's shown that in his mind Reo is still very much one of them. I'd say that he perceives Reo as an equal, if not strictly a teammate at present. This is especially clear when Nagi's first impulse is to still pick him as his first choice when they win. We've established that Nagi doesn't let sentimentality get in the way of having the best shot at achieving his dream (think of the pep talk he gives to Bachira about leaving him behind if he doesn't step up even if he and Isagi are close). So, all of this to say: Nagi speaks with his actions, and he chooses Reo for Reo's skills, not for his attachment to him as a friend. He respects him.
But he respects their dream more, in the end. Just like how he left with Isagi not by any fault of Reo's own, but to examine his own drive for football, Nagi once again makes the choice that would best result in bettering his plays. Not because he doesn't care, but because he's that serious about it, actually.
Again, Reo doesn't make the cut not because he lacks skills, but because his playstyle isn't compatible with the way Nagi's team is evolving. Reo would bring them balance because he's skilled and charismatic enough to singlehandedly whip up their mismatched chaos into a proper team. But being a team would make them worse players individually, and Nagi has enough maturity to know that's a step back for his own skills, not one forward. Not a single moment has passed by so far where he hasn't been putting his all towards fulfilling his end of the promise, or one where he hasn't had full faith in Reo in turn.
And then Reo, who has acted cold and standoffish all this time for seemingly no reason... Reo, who is so skilled but wants to be picked even if it means losing and possibly flunking out of the program, their best chance to get closer to the world cup... The same guy who swore they'd be best in the world, but whose efforts only stopped at winning in the first selection...
that Reo goes and accuses him of not giving a shit about their promise to each other.
I think I would've snapped back too

I really like chapter 196 for one main reason : it shows the difference between “égoïsme” and “égocentrisme”.
In French, those words respectively mean egotism and self centeredness but they sound so similar it’s easy to mistake one for another. Even in English, you’d tend to think they have the same meaning but I think this chapter how they’re fundamentally different personally traits. They affect the behavior differently.
Being egotistical means to puts oneself before all others - to prioritize your success over theirs if given a choice and to maximise your own chances. Being self centered means to acknowledge your and only your needs or desires.
The difference here is that while a self centered person could never cooperate with someone - only manipulate or use them -, an egotistical person could cooperate if it would enhance its chances at succeeding. For an egotistical person, there is only conflict with others’ choices and wants when they will hinder their own - a self centered individual doesn’t even take the possibility of others’ needs into consideration.
I believe Isagi is an egotistical but not a self centered person. He works to win - he doesn’t wish for it, doesn’t think it’s granted or believe anyone owes him anything. Victory is something he achieves for himself and with others. It’s something obtained by being rational and pragmatic, being lucid regarding his own abilities.
Egotism by Isagi means achieving victory by his own means and with his own capacities. Most of the time, it means scoring as he’s a striker, but if it’s not possible then it’s cooperating with others to create a situation in which everyone’s potential merges to overcome odds they couldn’t individually. To use and be used for the sake of victory. To win because you know you are able to and you want to. Being self centered means you’ll try to achieve victory regardless of your abilities because you believe you deserve so - that somehow things will work your way. Egoism means winning to grow and work to win.

Blue Lock Dancing Headcanons
Hi hello I drank coffee and got into a dance off with my dog (I lost) so here are some Dancy pants headcanons for our boys! (Unfortunately I didn't include Yudai in this one- I don't know him very well, sorry!)
Isagi: Mr. Clappy hands! Isagi has zero sense of rhythm and is fully aware of it, but he's having the best time so it all kinda works out. Tries to sing along but doesn't know any of the words so he just kinda mumbles along until he gets to a part he knows.
Bachira: A literal snake, his moves are so fluid it's like he's made of water. The one to run up to random people- familiar or not- and dance with them. Claims the monster is the one who taught him how to move like that.
Kunigami: Somebody come get your grandpa. Has the potential to dance fairly well but underestimates himself severely. Lots of shimmies and feet shuffles, nodding along with the music and does the occasional fist bump. Will loosen up some the longer he's out dancing.
Chigiri: Simple but pretty with it! He's shy- it takes him a moment to warm up to dancing, but when he does he has a great time. Kinda scared to re-injure his knee so he never goes all out, but he has the ability to dance fairly well. Kinda vibes with it.
More under the cut~
Gurimu- The stomper to Isagi's clapping. An absolute mess on the dance floor, he and Isagi make quite the sight. Like his friend, Gurimu's having the time of his life, even if he looks like a drunk tap dancer. Unlike Isagi, he knows all the words to the songs playing- he just can't sing.
Gagamaru- Too much ass. He's not even trying to be sexy, he's just doing whatever everyone else around him is doing. He looks like a dog trying to rub it's butt against something to scratch an itch. Put on Southern All Stars however and he's in his feelings, singing along and rocking to the music while leaning onto whomever's closest.
Kuon- Not enough ass. Frankly, not enough anything. He's so stiff it's like Iida from MHA only even more so. Kinda looks like someone wiggling a cardboard cutout. Warms up in time so he does loosen up some. Would be great at concerts though- the kind where everyone just kinda jumps around is more his vibe.
Raichi- A catastrophe; he looks like Rocky shadowboxing combined with a two year old having a tantrum. Thinks he's absolutely killing it but is way, way too aggressive. Has gotten kicked out at dance parties because people thought he was trying to fight them.
Naruhaya- The most fun dancer! Dance parties were his way to distract his siblings when the times got tough, so he's got quite a few moves under his belt. Ranges from Fortnite dancing to swinging his dance partners arms around with him. Never fails to make the people around him laugh.
Lemon- Surprisingly a phenomenal dancer! He's like Bachira- smooth like butter in his moves. Believes like his handwriting, his dancing reflects his soul, so he worked on it for years. Kinda embarrassed by it so he's not the first one to dance, but enjoys himself for the most part!
Barou- Stiff- he doesn't know how to cut loose and relax. Has a set number of moves he follows when dancing- if even one gets thrown off he'll quit. If he can loosen up even a little bit, he'd be a rather decent dancer.
Nagi: Would be a good dancer if he put more effort into it. He's always playing on his phone on the dance floor- just kinda bops to the beat halfheartedly. If he does commit, he's a bit awkward at first but warms up eventually. Knows a surprisingly large amount of dances- including Irish step.
Reo: Will only dance if Nagi's dancing with him. He spends most of the time trying to get the other moving with him. If Nagi's dancing with someone else he'll either pout the whole time or dance extra hard to make Nagi jealous. Also knows a wide variety of dance moves.
Aryu- Makes every move a glamorous one. Think Metatton from Undertale- every move is absolutely extra, hair tosses and poses are very common. He's living his inner diva and makes it everyone's business.
Tokimitsu- Constantly cycles between having fun and panicking for having too much fun and going back to having fun. Tries to take up as little space as possible when dancing, worrying he'd accidentally bump into everyone around him.
Rin- Excellent dancer but hates dancing. It takes a lot of convincing to actually get him on the floor, and even more to make him stay. Kinda stays by himself for the most part, nodding along with whatever's playing. Might dance with Isagi if asked- even if he's trying not to laugh the entire time at the smaller boy's dance moves.
Thanks for reading!
