Well... this was supposed to be a simple little sketch (you're gonna have to zoom in) to go with some small head-cannons that grew legs and wandered away:
In the Modern AU (where nothing is really different I just use it to draw modern trappings on the gang) after whatever happens, and things are good, the tadfools go out for a nice lunch together in the park with their favorite pedestrian rides. They're in Bloomridge, which here is more like Golden Gate Park or Central Park - a huge area for pleasant recreation.
From right to left:
Karlach: Rollerblades. Safety equipment - elbow, knee pads, hand guards. Look - Regular casual clothes.
Tav: Roller Skates. Safety equipment - none ("if I die I die.") Look - Usual gym/active fit.
Wyll: Longboard skateboard. Safety equipment - helmet worn incorrectly (straps loose). Look - Day out with friends urban causal.
Lae'zel: Beloved cherry red BMX bike. Safety equipment - all of it, as is good and proper. Look - Dirtbag off-roader.
Shadowheart: Silver beach cruiser of her dreams* with tassels and a basket and everything. Safety equipment - none. Look - Summer sundress.
Gale: Recumbent bike with tressym trailer**. Safety equipment - proper helmet and wrist guards. Look - Little matched bicycling outfit.
Astarion: One of those motorized unicycles (probably shouldn't be riding this on the bike path.) Safety equipment - none and he's on his phone. Look - Casual but expensively branded***.
Scratch: Having a great time.
Honestly they're all having a great time. They're buddies! Bonus, they run into Aylin and Isobel who are also out for a ride on their tandem:
Tumblr media
*Karlach helped her get it all perfectly sparkly and detailed the last time she cleaned her motorcycle.
**It's open, she can fly out if she wants, but she's not as young as she used to be and likes to have a chauffeur sometimes. Plus she and Gale are having a nice chat. (Stickers says 'Tressym on Board' and there's a sticker for his university. The flags are a Waterdeep Flag, and two university pennants.)
***His shoulder bag has his latest embroidery projects all framed up to work on when they stop.

In the pro skater AU do you have plans for Plum and Grey? My brain went to Plum doing figure skating, something with similar mechanics but more “refined” but I know classic Peach does that. Grey I thought maybe does BMX, I don’t know just seems fun. Definitely is also constantly helping Peach repair her gear
We had a chat on the discord and the general vibe was that peach is the reckless idiot skateboarder, goes for massive air time, some sick flips, an adrenaline junkie. She’s found it impossible to get signed because she’s so difficult to work with, and gets in trouble with the cops for skating places she shouldn’t be at, petty crime, nothing crazy but enough to put sponsors off. Her skill however is very high, she lives for the sport. Grey is super chill, also a skateboarder like her but not as brave, better at street tricks, can do some crazy things on rails, off walls, cruises on a longboard on his days off, high speed down those hills with the gloves that have the metal plates on them. He’s however nervous and competitively he ranks way lower than his skill due to his own ability to self sabotage through fear and stage fright. Plums the agent, assigned two hopeless clients no one else wanted to work with, one too hot, one too cold. She can’t get anyone to take them on, has had to bail peach out of jail, coax grey from the locker rooms when spooked. She sees their skill.
Eventually she uses her own money to make sure they get into the competitive scene, becomes their boss, and finds ways to bolster them both. They teach her how to skate, she buys a little penny, all three coasting around town at sunset laughing, beers by an empty pool looking at the stars. They respect her, she put everything on the line, so they do the same. Grey grows confident and ranks higher than ever to prove he’s worth her payout, and peach throws herself into frankly dangerous tricks to win and make her boss look good, make sure all those bail outs from the cops aren’t for nothing. Does she break a few ribs and keep skating anyway? You bet.
Peach’s boards are constantly switching, she snaps them, breaks bearings, busts trucks, but favours the classic setup. Her old faithful cruiser looks like it belongs in a bin but she loves it.
Greys adaptive, likes to longboard a lot, cruise around freely when not doing tricks and perfecting routines with his regular board. For sure he’s the one ordering parts and helping with repairs.
Plum grew to love this little teal and red penny the duo bought her, it’s compact and nippy, suits her. She can nearly do a kick flip. Has yet to land if. The other two believe in her, coolest boss they’ve ever had.

Bike Handlebar: Let's Explore Its Types
The bicycle handlebars have seen major modifications throughout the years. Comfort and efficiency can be greatly affected by shape, angle and basic qualities. In this post, we'll talk about a variety of bike handlebars, where they're most popular and why they take the shape that they do.
Riser bar
The most popular and basic kind of bicycle handlebars are riser bars, often known as upright bars.
Their unique feature is a bar that dips in the centre and rises at the ends, elevating the rider's hands over the seat. The brake levers are positioned where the fingers naturally rest, whereas the gear levers are where the thumbs operate.
These are the handlebars you'll find on most hybrid bikes and bikes used by commuters in the city. Although the flat bar form of bikehub MTB handlebars has been gaining popularity as of late, riser bars are still available.
Tumblr media
Drop bar
Drop bars are the most popular alternative to flat bars.
The rider is set up aerodynamically to minimise drag and maximise speed. Therefore, they are often only seen on racing bikes, such as road, gravel and cyclocross models. In addition, many touring bikes include drop bars, which allow the rider to use a variety of hand positions.
Flat bar (Straight bar)
Common on mountain bikes, hybrids and fixies, flat bars are the simplest kind of straight handlebars.
Some fixie bikes don't have brake or gear levers, but most have grips on both ends with levers at your fingers.
Moustache (Cruiser)
The Moustache bar is a particular kind of cruiser handlebar that encourages a more upright riding position and a more relaxed pace.
It's the kind of handlebar you'd find on the kind of low, relaxed bike you'd see roaming the boardwalks of every major city in the globe.
The handlebar is 'moustache-like' in appearance, with the ends curved back to place the rider's hands at a relaxed 45-degree angle. This kind of handlebar is only seen on leisurely cruiser motorcycles because, although pleasant, it compromises control at higher speeds.
High rise (Monkey bar)
A high-rise handlebar, often known as a "monkey bar" or "ape hanger," positions the rider's hands in a dangling posture far above the ground.
Bicycles with ape hanger handlebars are common on BMX models and stylish cruiser bikes, which gained popularity due to vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles.
The huge U-shaped body is the most striking feature of its design, with the handles protruding from the sides. Single-speed bikes often have just one front brake lever and no gear changers because of the rear coaster brake.
Similarly, there is a bicycle wheel. You can find it in a wide variety of styles. Order your bike today!

BMX Bikes: A Thrilling Ride for All Ages
Tumblr media
BMX biking is more than just a sport; it's a lifestyle and a form of self-expression. Originating in the late 1960s and early 1970s, BMX bikes were inspired by motocross racing, but adapted for pedal power. Today, they are known for their durability, versatility, and suitability for various styles of riding. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, BMX biking offers excitement and challenge. This article will explore what makes BMX bikes unique, the different types available, and tips for choosing the right BMX bike for your needs.
What is a BMX Bike?
BMX stands for Bicycle Motocross, a term that reflects the sport's roots in motocross racing. BMX bikes are specially designed for off-road racing, stunt riding, and freestyle tricks. They are characterized by their compact, sturdy frames, wide handlebars, and knobby tires. The design is optimized for quick maneuvers, high jumps, and robust performance on dirt tracks and urban environments.
Key Features of BMX Bikes
Durability: BMX bikes are built to withstand the rigors of racing and stunt riding. They feature strong frames made from materials like chromoly steel or aluminum, ensuring they can handle impacts and rough terrain.
Size and Weight: These bikes are typically smaller and lighter than other bicycles, making them easy to control and maneuver. The compact size also allows for easier storage and transport.
Single-Speed: Most BMX bikes have a single-speed drivetrain, which means they don't have gears. This simplicity reduces the risk of mechanical issues and makes them easier to maintain.
20-Inch Wheels: Standard BMX bikes come with 20-inch wheels, which provide the right balance of speed and control. Some variations, like cruiser BMX bikes, may have larger wheels (24 inches) for different riding styles.
Types of BMX Bikes
BMX bikes come in several types, each designed for a specific style of riding. Understanding the differences can help you choose the right bike for your interests.
1. Race BMX Bikes
Race BMX bikes are designed for speed and agility on dirt tracks. These bikes are lightweight, with thin frames and narrow tires that allow for quick acceleration and sharp turns. They are typically used in competitive racing events, where riders navigate a course filled with jumps, tight corners, and other obstacles.
2. Freestyle BMX Bikes
Freestyle BMX bikes are built for tricks and stunts. They have thicker, sturdier frames and tires that can handle the impact of jumps and landings. Freestyle bikes often feature pegs on the wheels, which riders use for grinding and balancing during tricks. This type of BMX is popular in skate parks, urban environments, and flatland areas where riders perform tricks like spins, flips, and grinds.
3. Dirt Jump BMX Bikes
Dirt jump BMX bikes are similar to freestyle bikes but are specifically designed for jumping over dirt ramps. They have reinforced frames and components to withstand hard landings and are equipped with knobby tires for better traction on dirt surfaces. These bikes are used in dirt jump parks, where riders perform aerial tricks off specially designed ramps.
4. Flatland BMX Bikes
Flatland BMX bikes are designed for performing intricate tricks on flat, smooth surfaces. These bikes have a unique frame geometry that allows for easier spinning and balancing. Flatland riders perform tricks that involve balance, coordination, and precise control, often without the need for ramps or jumps.
Choosing the Right BMX Bike
When choosing a BMX bike, consider the type of riding you want to do. Are you interested in racing, performing tricks, or simply riding for fun? Here are some factors to keep in mind:
1. Frame Material
The frame material affects the bike's weight, durability, and price. Chromoly steel frames are strong and durable, making them suitable for freestyle and dirt jumping. Aluminum frames are lighter and often used in racing for speed and agility.
2. Size and Fit
BMX bikes come in various sizes to accommodate riders of different heights and ages. The size of the bike should allow you to stand over the frame comfortably and reach the handlebars easily. Test-riding different sizes can help you find the best fit.
3. Tires and Wheels
Consider the type of tires that suit your riding style. Slick tires are better for street and park riding, while knobby tires provide better grip on dirt tracks. The wheel size, typically 20 inches, should match the type of BMX bike and the rider's preferences.
4. Budget
BMX bikes come in a range of prices, from affordable entry-level models to high-end bikes for professional riders. Determine your budget and look for a bike that offers the best value for your money. Keep in mind that investing in quality components can enhance the bike's performance and durability.
Conclusion
BMX biking is a versatile and exciting sport that appeals to riders of all ages. Whether you're racing on dirt tracks, performing tricks in a skate park, or jumping over ramps, there's a BMX bike that's right for you. Understanding the different types of BMX bikes and their features can help you make an informed choice. So, gear up, hit the pedals, and experience the thrill of BMX biking!
