The character design in @bonus-links by @ezdotjpg is so top tier, it will always be my favorite Link-verse design wise. Everytime I see a new panel of Loft I light up. Even aside from how they all look, the characterization is so good! The mini comic about Mask’s eyepatch gets me everytime. The Links are all written so well, I love them.

Somewhere in the Crowd There's You (Rosnali) - Joley
Summary: Denali and Rosé were best friends all through middle and high school, but had to part ways after graduating in 1998. But even years later, the one thing that always connected them were the mixtapes Rosé would make.
(bonus: denali's playlist for rosé)
ao3 link
“Denali, so help me god if you’re late to graduation you will not make it to college!” her mother shouted up the stairs.
Denali groaned and rolled her eyes. “I’m coming!” she yelled back down to her. She pressed ‘stop’ on her CD player and popped the cover open, taking the disk out and putting it into its correct sleeve in her CD book. It was a smaller one, as it only contained her most precious ones - the mixtapes Rosé had given her over the years.
The two of them had been best friends since they had both transferred to the same Manhattan school in sixth grade, Denali coming from Alaska and Rosé from Scotland. Both of them had felt out of place and immediately sought refuge in each other and had been inseparable ever since. And one thing that had always been consistent in their friendship was Rosé’s love of burning CDs and giving them to her, whether it was for a special occasion or just because she thought Denali would like it, and she always did.
“And don’t even think about trying to take your walkman!”
She huffed, looking at it waiting for her on her bed. “Fine,” she threw her gown over her dress and grabbed her cap before hustling out the door.
Any attitude she might have had disappeared the second she got out of the car and saw Rosé. she sprinted towards the taller girl, launching herself into her arms. “Rosie!”
Rosé scooped Denali up without hesitation, one arm wrapped around her waist and the opposite hand holding her thigh. “Hi Dee,” she cooed, spinning around with her before eventually setting her back down. “I got something for you.”
Denali giggled as Rosé reached up under her gown because of course, she would manage to get away with wearing pants at graduation. She beamed from ear to ear as Rosé placed a CD in her hand. Written in pink glitter gel pen over masking tape was ‘Denali + Rosé: Class of ‘98’, with a heart over the ‘i’. She looked at the tracklist and smiled when she saw one was highlighted - that meant Rosé had recorded herself singing, and that was her favorite part. “Super Trouper?” she tilted her head, noting it was the only song on the list that hadn’t come out during their time in high school.
She shrugged, a tinge of pink ghosting her cheeks. “I like ABBA and the song made me think of you.”
“I love it,” she quickly assured, hugging her tightly before sliding the mixtape into her macrame crossbody bag. “Come on, we better go take our seats so we can say goodbye to our childhood.”
Rosé arched her brow. “Bit grim when you put it that way, but let’s go.”
After graduation Rosé and Denali went to dinner together with their families, then back to Denali’s house for a sleepover, likely one of the last ones they would have before college. But they didn’t want to think about that, instead focusing on enjoying the time they had together.
It wasn’t easy for either of them, and Denali was left with a difficult decision. When she was twelve, she acknowledged the fact that she was attracted to girls, but decided it was best to not do anything about it. At sixteen, she realized that it wasn’t just girls in general, that would be too easy to ignore. For the past two years, she had accepted the fact that she was in love with Rosé, but too paralyzed with fear to do anything about it.
So, she made a mixtape. Each song one declaration of love after another. And it had been sitting in her closet for a week now while she tried to talk herself into giving it to her best friend. She knew it was now or never, tonight had to be the night.
“Something on your mind?” Rosé gently prompted.
Denali hesitated, then shook her head. “I’m just gonna miss you,” she told her, sitting next to her cross-legged on the bed. “We’re gonna stay in touch, right?”
“Of course,” Rosé assured. “We can call each other and talk on AIM when we can get to the campus libraries,” she suggested, resting her hand on Denali’s thigh and squeezing gently. “I think we can make it work.”
She chewed on her lip and nodded. “If you think so, then I do too.” She glanced back at her closet, thinking, her heart racing. Rosé cared enough about her to want to make their friendship work. Maybe there was a chance…
“Hey,” Rosé prompted to change the subject, “I rented Cinderella with Brandi from Blockbuster, you wanna watch?”
Denali nodded, letting her fear quell her desire to give her the disk. “Yeah, I’ll go make some popcorn.”
Six Years Later
Manhattan felt almost as foreign to Denali as it did when she first moved there. Despite the nostalgia that filled her when she walked past Broadway, recalling seeing RENT there with Rosé for her eighteenth birthday, or the other little things that brought her back to her teenage years, she felt odd, out of place. It made her stomach churn with the way everything seemed to change.
It didn’t help that, despite all of the promises they had made to each other, she had lost touch with Rosé sometime after the start of her sophomore year. Their lives had gotten so busy, so involved, it just dissipated and she had to try her best to move on.
And most days Denali was able to go about her life as normal. She returned to her apartment with lunch for herself and her roommate. Her new normal. “Liv! Come eat!”
Olivia promptly emerged from her room, a piece of paper in her hand. “Check out this flyer I snagged from the café a few blocks over. They’re having a karaoke night tonight, we should go,” at Denali’s hesitation, she jutted out her bottom lip and batted her lashes. “C’mon, please? They’re gonna have alcohol.”
With a jokingly dramatic sigh, she acquiesced. “Okay, fine, but don’t even think about trying to drag me on stage before I’ve had at least three drinks.”
After lunch, the two of them got ready for the night, doing their hair and makeup and picking out just the right outfits for the modern y2k-era nightlife. The walk to the café was about ten minutes and they were able to get a table before the room started to fill up. Her attention faded in and out as people started to perform, nursing her drink and picking at the chips on the table.
“Alright, who’s next?” the event host prompted, scanning the room. “You, in the pink, right this way!” There were some scattered cheers as a woman took the stage, but Denali didn’t look up until she started singing.
Olivia noticed the sudden alertness in her friend. “What, you’re an ABBA fan?”
“No, no I know that voice,” she insisted, shushing her to focus on the stage better. There was no way, it couldn’t be…
“But I won’t feel blue like I always do. ‘Cause somewhere in the crowd there’s-” Rosé looked into the audience, her eyes meeting Denali’s and her breath hitching in her throat, nearly missing the last word, but when she got it out, it was as if she were singing to her once again, “…you.”
Before Denali could decide what to do, Rosé was making a beeline for her, then she was standing right in front of her, looking more beautiful than Denali could’ve ever anticipated. “Rosie?” she asked softly, afraid it was too good to be true.
A broad smile stretched across Rosé’s face as if she were wondering the same thing until that moment. “Denali!” She yanked the smaller woman to her feet and pulled her into a tight embrace, one that neither of them ever wanted to end. “When did you move back to New York?”
“Couple weeks ago officially. My parents moved out to Long Island, so I was staying with them while I was trying to find a place. That’s how I met Olivia, my roommate,” Denali explained, gesturing to the girl still sitting at the table.
Olivia offered a polite wave and smile in response. “It seems like you guys have some catching up to do, I’m gonna go on stage next then, um, keep myself busy,” she decided and scurried off.
“Let’s go outside,” Rosé suggested, the two of them leaving the café and sitting on a bench in front of it. “I’ve missed you so much. What have you been up to?”
Denali shrugged. “Got my BFA in dance, worked with a few different companies either performing or choreographic. And last year I was in Zumanity, which was quite the experience,” she blushed a bit as she recalled that, unsure if Rosé was familiar with the type of show it was, “and now I’m here as a full-time dance teacher and choreographer. What about you?”
Rosé’s eyes did widen at the name, feeling her face start to redden as her mind started to wander, wondering what sort of things Denali had performed on stage. While she hadn’t seen the show, she had seen commercials when watching TV late at night. She’d nearly missed her question, clearing her throat and centering herself. “Oh, well, my life hasn’t been as interesting as yours, I got my BFA in musical theatre, did various off-Broadway gigs, and… you’re going to laugh… I’m the understudy for the lead role in Mamma Mia here on Broadway.”
“Mamma Mia… the ABBA jukebox musical?” She covered her mouth as she tried not to laugh, a bit of giggling slipping through. “A little on the nose, isn’t it Rosie? But I’m very happy for you.”
“Maybe so, but I’m much more interested in this Zumanity stint. I mean, I always knew you had that skill level but that’s a… unique setting,” Rosé retorted, her interest, and perhaps something more, very piqued.
Denali looked down and grinned. “It was. Everyone there was incredibly talented too, it was so freeing, so queer,” she said, then hesitantly looked back up to reaffirm, “which I also am, you know, gay.”
Rosé chuckled softly and nodded. “I kind of suspected as much, just with the way you reacted when we saw RENT,” she recalled, then quickly followed up with, “I am too.”
An eight-year-long weight lifted from Denali’s chest at the confession. “Do you wanna come back to my place? It’s just a couple of blocks over, we can have a sleepover like we used to,” she suggested.
“I’d love that,” she grinned, and as they walked back to the apartment, she had her arm slung around Denali’s shoulders, not passing up the first opportunity in years to keep her close. Even though it was an apartment she’d never been in before, the fact that it was Denali’s made it feel familiar.
Denali toed out of her shoes and set her purse down. “I have something for you,” she said suddenly, disappearing into her bedroom before Rosé to question her. She rifled through her closet, pulling out a box tucked away and grinning when she found the items she was looking for. It was still a risk, but this time she knew it was one worth taking. She took a deep breath, then rejoined Rosé in the living room. “I kept every mixtape you gave me, still listen to them sometimes,” she said, holding up the CD book in one hand.
“You did?” Rosé put her hand over her chest, beaming warmly. “Dee, that’s so sweet.”
She smiled, biting her lip and looking down, trying to fight away the nerves that crept back up. “I, um, I made you one too. I was going to give it to you after graduation but I chickened out,” she confessed as she handed the mixtape she had hidden among her possessions all these years to the woman she made it for. “I think the tracklist will explain why.”
Rosé’s lips parted in surprise as she gently took it from her. “To Rosie, with love,” she read the title before turning it over to see where Denali had written the songs in silver sharpie. And, sure enough, it was one love song after another, songs she knew well, that she knew the shorter woman spent her time carefully picking out each one. “Oh, Dee, this is beautiful. Honestly, I don’t know what I would’ve done if you gave it to me back then.”
Denali swallowed thickly. “I guess more importantly, what are you gonna do now?”
There was only a half-beat of silence before Rosé smirked, setting the disk on the dining room table before cupping Denali’s face and kissing her deeply, moving one hand from her face to wrap her arm around her body and pull her close. “I’ve always loved you, Denali. I’d just resigned myself to seeing you as the one that got away.”
Denali relaxed, arms looping around Rosé’s neck. “I’m not going anywhere.”

Expanding Clock Town: Fan Ideas
Welcome to my newest blog. This will be a series of neat ideas that I will randomly pump out for your enjoyment as well as discus what can improve our overall experience with the games we love. Today we will look at...
                                              Clock Town
Tumblr media
Clock Town is a fun little city in the heart of Termina that I always look at fondly. With its cheery music and colorful visuals as well as a great cast of characters, there is a special charm to this town that I feel no other settlement in the Zelda series evoke on me.
But I'll admit its a little lacking in attractions among other things.
With only three main gaming stores plus the Deku Playground, I think its safe to conclude that Clock Town could use a little funding to create new points of interest and the like. But what can they built exactly? Well let's dive in and spice up this cute little town!
                                              A Few More Inns
The Stock Pot Inn is the only source of a motel that the city has, and this is a big no no in my honest opinion. Originally a cafeteria back in the days, the now old and outdated Inn is of poor quality and not up to par with Inns you find in BotW, which is strange because some great inns were in a small post apocalyptic town while Clock Town is fairly well off. The room with the performers hold no such luxuries aside from bunk beds and a card table, and disgusting creepy crawlies are an example of a building in need of pest control. The first class room is falling apart, with a large unkempt hole glaring back at its guest as it allows one to access the private conversations of the next room without consequences.
Tumblr media
The place doesn't have electricity and must rely on old fashioned candles to lit its halls. I say this because places like the Milk Bar have ceiling fans, and along with other stores, electricity generated lights (study the game closely and you'll see what I mean.) There is also a random man stuck in the toilet of a doorlees restroom, forever ignored... Alas, these issues doesn't stop the Inn from getting booked, for it is the only option in Clock Town...
But not anymore.
Various Inns would be places in all four sections of the city, each one reflecting the theme of the providence from the 4 corners of the world; South Clock Town would be Swamp Theme, North Clock Town promotes Snow Theme, and West Clock Town embraces an Ocean Theme. Each one would offer a different level of costumer service as they compete with each other. One could have a beautiful high quality hotel, but the staff are stingy and rude, while a less flamboyant option would reward Link with friendly employees. Not only that, but they could be run by various races like Zoras and Deku Scrubs depending on the inn. This will affect Link in the long run as there are perks to staying in each inn, such as how many hearts he gains for his stay. A side-story should be implemented for each Inn as well, seeing as that's where the game shines.
Tumblr media
While the Stock Pot Inn are of poor mainaince and constantly overbooked, the Southern Inn could be struggling to gain costumers due to Deku being unpopular among Hylians. However, the Deku themselves are nice people and openly optimistic, determine to erase the stereotype of their race. If wearing the Deku Mask, some of the staff members will recognize you as the son of their King's butler, and it is here where the lost son's backstory will unfold.
On the contrary, the Western Inn is popular for its wealthier ascetic, tropical themes, and beautiful design both internally and externally. Plus there is the added benefit of being closer to the ocean where the Indigo-Go's resides.
However the Zoran staff are snobbish and vain, refusing to serve costumers if they do not hold their standards or have enough money. But they will instantly serve celebrities like members of the Indigo-Go's with the best costumer service. Link would either have to grind to add money to his bank account or wear Mikau's mask for easy access and better treatment. As Mikau, Link is offer the best room, best food, and invited to participate in Zora based mini games, concerts, parties and of coarse side quests. Also, sidequests are only done with the Zora Mask.
Goron Link will either be dismiss without a second thought, or offer a less then fabulous room for his stay and limited access to games. And Deku Link will be yelled at to "get lost!" The staff reveals their struggle to provide happy costumers after many had file complaints against them, and mentions the personal problems and racial insecurities affecting their attitude. If Link beats Gyorg before the third day, the band will be found in the hotel after their performance back in the hall. As a bonus, if he helps the hotel staff, they'll soften up and change their strict policies to appeal to everyone equally, and reward Link a special mask.
I think that by applying more hotel opinions with different benefits can really enhance the gameplay and story, and having them all compete with each other would make things quite interesting.
                                         Happy Mask Shop
Tumblr media
I'm honestly shock there isn't a mask based shop in Clock Town, especially considering how influential masks are to their culture. I know that people traditionally craft their own masks and such for festivals, but it would be great having a store center around these artifacts. The shop's sidequests would require the player to build their own original masks and customize existing ones with added perks, transformations included. Link would have to explore Termina for certain materials to craft his own handmade mask. However, players would have to be wise with how they spend their limited products; would they use up the items to create a new and unique mask with unknown functions, or use those resources to upgrade existing ones with increased benefits?
Tumblr media
For instance, using certain materials on the Zora Mask will give Mikau ice abilities and resistance to it. Upgrading the Goron Mask will make Darmani burst to flames when fighting and send explosive shock waves to surrounding enemies. Enhancing the Deku Mask will boost its durability in fights and spit acid bubbles. You know, little examples like these. This could give previously useless masks a new use in the game while creating new ones to add to Link's arsenal.
                                 More Game Shops and Stores
Nothing much more to say aside that the city can use more gaming shops across the town. Things like the bombchu game from OoT, racing, horse and Zora riding, diving, sword fighting tournament, etc. The games should not be limited to Link as each activities can be play as his different forms depending on the theme of them. Have them either spread out or in different corners of the town.
Stores full of goodies are also welcome, and certain gear will only become available after completing a dungeon. Stores should also be expanding across Clock Town and the rest of Termina populated by shoppers trying to buy supplies in preparations for the end of the world. Over the 3 days the amount of shopper dwindle, until by the Final Night the shops are devoid of life entirely. Little things like these should add more to an already wonderful game.
                                     Homes and Neighborhoods
Tumblr media
Finally, I want to see a variety of houses like in OoT's Hyrule Castle Town which we have access too. Here we can interact with the characters privately as they dwell on their thoughts concerning the falling Moon. We can enter the homes of the commonfolk via the alleyways and the residence of the more wealthy in the area around the Mayor's office. To make it easier for the dev team, the homes of the people can be designed like apartments for the poor and condominiums for the rich. That way the Zelda Team can save environmental space.
What can we do?
Perhaps we can rent or buy an apartment/condo via sidequest. When Link obtains the apartment, he will received a stamp that will travel with him through time similar to the bank stamp. The stamp is proof of ownership for that home, meaning the player is all set and doesn't have to do that quest again. Renting/buying can provide certain benefits like regenerating health when at the residence or storing deletable items like arrows and bombs for the next cycle. This is basically a storage space and can vary greatly depending if you buy or rent. Renting is more limited, only allowing you to store a certain number of every items. Buying, which can only be done by after obtaining the Adult Wallet, can boost the number of perishable items dramatically and even display your masks as you have more freedom to arrange your home how you like. Also, the basement can be served as a minidungeon were goodies can be obtain from completion.
Epona can also be allowed in this section on the city, but only if Link has a private property.
Of coarse, living in a neighborhood require interacting! That means sidequest galore, as Link will communicate and solve the problems of mismatched people going nuts over the moon. Rewards include weapons, items, gear, rupees, access to games and masks. Link basically becomes a neighborhood hero and wearing the three main masks can generate different missions and misadventure. Also it would generate funny reactions from random neighbors.
The Captain of the Guard Viscen, impressed with his righteous heart, will offer Link a brief position in the guard allowing more story quests and missions to unfold.
Tumblr media
Just imagine a chase scene across the streets on horseback tracking down a criminal with the guards as backup?
One sidequest however can have an dire impact on Link himself and effect the player's playthough. If Link doesn't lock the doors when at night and sleeps, Sakon will break in at 12:00 am and steal his Transformation Masks. If this were to occur Link must immediately give chase before the thief sells them off for profit. He would have to track him down through the alleyways, but only have till morning before Sakon makes off with them to his hideout. And considering that the mask contains the souls of the fallen, it doubles as unintentional kidnapping!
Tumblr media
Viscen would appear roaming the streets on his night patrol and confronts Link during the chase. He would then accompany Link as they go after Sakon on horseback and hunt him down. If Link succeeds, Sakon will be arrested and his magical masks with be back in safe hands.
If he fails and Sakon escapes with them, the thief will flee to his hideout and bid them for high prices. Link and Viscen would then proceed to travel to Ikana and sneak their way into his lair. A stealth mission begins, and the duo must avoid the security to reach the room where the precious items are held. Once they pass this, they break into the audition and confronts Sakon. The thief will send out Wolfos and monsters to hold them off as he once again try to escape, but by defeating the enemies Link will face him one on one and quickly wins. Sakon would then be apprehended by Viscen, and the audition quickly scatters. As Link gets his Transformation Masks back, Sakon reveals that he knew of their magical transformation powers the whole time as he had been spying on Link. He further admits that he planned to make a fortune off of them for that reason alone, saying there are nothing else like them in Termina. Viscen silence him and the screen fades white, where we see Sakon being sentence to prison. Viscen congratulates Link and offers him a guard's mask as a reward for his trouble, a mask that enables him to directly help more people across Termina.
This should be a Fanfiction. I need to write this now.
                                                Conclusion
Although I love Clock Town dearly, after playing Ocarina of Time I found myself really wishing that Nintendo took the time to include a small section of neighborhoods in the town. All the possibilities are just screaming to come to life!
#RemakeMajora'sMask4HomeConsoles
That is it. I have nothing more to say. This is how I would expand Clock Town if I were part of the Zelda Team. I sure have an active imagination. A switch remake would defiantly have the power needed to render all of this. How would you improve Clock Town? Tell me what you would add to Majora's Mask should you be given the chance!
Thank you for taking your time to reading this. I'll share more ideas on other Zelda games like Breath of the Wild. Will it be a mini series? Maybe. It depends whether an idea spark in my head. I do have a sidequest idea for BotW, so it'll be posted next time!

So E3 is going to be upon us sooner rather than later and I thought I’d place my predictions down in advance.
Xbox: So Xbox is in a strange position. All future first party titles are going to be on game pass for $10 a month. This includes Sea of Thieves which has been our for a couple of months, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, and Forza’s next entry. Because of this I think at most we will get one other first party release at most coming this year. Other titles like Halo 6 might be shown, but only one unannounced unknown first party game revealed this year at E3 will be released by the end of 2018.
Now what could it be? Well maybe this is just the hopeless dreams of a fanboy, but Banjo Kazooie turns 20 two weeks after E3 wraps up. Dropping a from-the-ground-up remaster akin to Shadow of Colossus or the N.sane trilogy would be incredible. Only other thing I could see is the rumored Perfect Dark reboot. Whatever open world game Playground Games is working on I doubt will release this console generation.
On the topic of Banjo turning 20 I can see Rare celebrating with some new content for Sea of Thieves. An Island in the style of Treasure Trove Cove or Hammerhead beach, some new voyages themed to the franchise, but more importantly some cosmetic items. If not themed to the franchise itself they could totally pull from the concept art for Project Dream and give us some Edison and Captain Blackeye. I also think other themed islands are a potential down the line. Viva Piñata makes perfect sense and I’m sure there are other possibilities for more islands inspired by other properties.
Game-pass and Xbox Live Gold I think will become one. Now this isn’t an original idea. Pulled it from Kinda Funny’s Gamescast, but it’s an idea so crazy I think it’s possible. I think the most likely scenario is a 50% discount on Game-pass with a Gold subscription, but that’s mostly because otherwise it’d be doubling the yearly price of Xbox Live Gold. This would mean for $120 a year you’ve got online access on top of a massive library of games including all of the major future Xbox One exclusives.
PlayStation: So Sony has stated what most of the conference will be. The conference itself will be a deep dive into Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us Part II. Obviously we will get gameplay for all four and if The Last of Us Part II is having multiplayer again it will be announced here with a beta this summer. Spider-man will get its last pre-order bonus costume unveiled and whatever is shown will allow the reveal of the collector’s edition’s statue.
Just because the main conference is pretty much confirmed to be just these four games doesn’t mean they won’t reveal anything in the pre-show. Dreams will have a firm date for a beta some time before The Last of Us has its multiplayer beta. If Microsoft doesn’t buy them on to their stage, we will see our first look at Spyro 2 in the Reignited Trilogy during the preshow as well.
Nintendo: Some Zelda Collection for Ocarina’s 20th anniversary. Be it ports of the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask up scaled or something more, we will see some celebration of Ocarina of Time this year. I think odds are also likely we will see some Joy-cons for this collection, most likely Ocarina of Time Blue and maybe an Amiibo series for Ocarina with all 7 Sages, another Young Link and Adult Link, and Zelda and Ganondorf. Maybe even another jumbo Amiibo in the Giant Goron or Beast Gannon. I have no idea what they’d all unlock, but people would collect them for damn sure.
We will get at least one Smash character reveals during the Nintendo Direct, and probably one at the Round Table if they’re doing another along with one during the tournament Nintendo will be holding. We will see the new Mario and Zelda stages along with Battlefield for this game. I have a feeling the tournament reveal will be the Arms representative. The reveal in the direct will be third party along with whatever super out there reveal they’ve got planned. If one of these reveal opportunities is missed it’ll be during the tournament.
While the Virtual Console name seems like it’s going away, its equivalent will get announced here and it’ll lead into Smash somehow. GameCube support will be announced for the service/line along with a GameCube style Pro Controller and a set of Joy-cons. If this special Joy-con set is made, I expect ones themed to NES and SNES as well. N64 is possible, but I think it’s less likely. Maybe a special Pro Controller down the line, but that design doesn’t fit the Joy-con design as easily.
So how do you lead in from GameCube support to Smash? Show what looks like Melee footage complete with wave dashing Fox and Marth on Hyrule Temple. Then something out of place for Melee shows up: ideally this is a new character or a returning character. Ideally a Snake or a Wolf or something else with GameCube ties. The new Smash Bros, hopefully named by now, will allow you to not just customize the rules, but physics and such so that you can play like Melee, Brawl, 3DS/WiiU, and 64. Maybe this extends to character models, maybe not, but this would be huge since it would mean online Melee. Oh and a Pre-order bonus would be a code redeemable for Melee on this Virtual Console replacement which will be a launch title for this new service planned to launch in November.
I’m guessing that the character reveals will include one predictable, one unlikely, and at least one third party character. Any and all ports to the Switch I can see slyly leading into a character reveal. I believe that Doom Marine has a real shot, but if they’re coming to Smash, Crash Bandicoot and Banjo & Kazooie will close out the Smash reveals and maybe the conference. Nintendo will recreate the original Smash TV spot from the 90s but instead of Mario starting the Brawl Crash will show up with the megaphone and start the fight. Phil Spencer will point up and Banjo will crash land on top of them all. If Crash isn’t there Banjo will still fall from the sky on top of them.
Whatever Pokémon for Switch ends up being it will be there and there will be connectivity with Pokémon Go. This connectivity will be cosmetic in nature for the most part with occasional event Pokémon. These events won’t be Legendary Pokémon but instead Pokémon with special moves. These will be tied to the Pokémon Go Community Days. The cosmetics will be tied to each games medal system, which will be in the new game.
The Yoshi game will get a title and release date that will be no later than August.
Bethesda: Whether or not it comes out this year or not, Bethesda Studio’s will reveal Starfield. It will be a cross between Destiny and your traditional Fallout or Elder Scrolls title. There will be a mobile tie in and it will launch on at least one Smart Phone Operating System that night and a companion App will launch closer to the game’s release. Expect another recap on what’s going on with Elder Scrolls Online since that’s almost tradition at this point. Some other Switch Port will be announced, probably a Fallout game. If Bethesda is getting a representative in Smash it isn’t entirely impossible for it to happen here, but it’s more likely to be held for the Nintendo Direct.
Ubisoft: If Starlink: Battle for Atlas still exists, they are dropping the Toy’s to Life angle. While the model shown in the reveal trailer will be available via a collector’s edition and maybe even be customizable as was shown, you will instead be buying ship upgrades exclusively through an online shop making the game a Games as a Service title. Just Dance 2019 will be unveiled and it will have both songs from Super Mario Odyssey in the Nintendo versions. Speaking of Nintendo, a massive amount of ports will come to the Switch including the entire Ubiarts lineup (Valiant Hearts and Child of Light), Watch_Dogs 2, maybe 1 as well, and Far Cry 3 Classic. As for new games I’d expect Watch_Dogs 3 that will be a games as a service title. If Beyond Good & Evil 2 is there then they will need to announce a beta or something with plans to run it this year, I don’t expect they’ll hit this year.
EA: Who gives a fuck really? Battlefield will get a new entry. Maybe some Battlefront updates. They need to show something Star Wars that isn’t Battlefront but that’s probably not going to happen. Expect half an hour of sports half an hour of shooty-shooty bang-bang.
Square Enix: I didn’t expect to have to predict this line-up. We will see Shadow of the Tomb Raider here, and it’ll be different footage than what was shown at the Microsoft conference. We will see a chunk of gameplay that the press already saw. The original reboot will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in July with Rise coming in August. They’ll say that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is in development for the Switch as well but it will not be day-in-date.
Dontnod will reveal the first look at Life is Strange 2. It will be set at Blackwell Academy, but in the distant past. The power will be the ability to read minds. My guess is the late game reveal will be the ability to reshape memories themselves, but obviously they won’t reveal that here. The game will be out later either late this year or early next year. In the meantime the original will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and all current gen versions of the game will be updated with the mobile versions photo mode.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will seem to close the show. The Frozen world will be revealed along with a release date if it hasn’t yet been revealed already. If it’s going to happen at all, the Xbox versions of the various collections will be announced here and they will be out this summer before the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. It will be the one crazy title to try and go toe to toe with Red Dead Redemption in October.
Kingdom Hearts 3 will not close the show however. We will see a cinematic trailer for the Avengers game. No gameplay will be shown on stage, but an alpha build will be shown behind closed doors.
