Hello Hello Hello :),
I swear it's a coincidence that EA just published a Book Nook kit, maybe they have seen my hint from last month :D, joking.
I am thrilled to show you this month's items, a 40-piece modular library. The bookshelves are traditional in style and perfect for a chateau setting, in my opinion :) The Bookshelf can be made from six pieces: two single-tile bookshelves, a 2-tile version, a rounded inside corner, an outside corner, and an extra decorative piece for separation. The bookshelves are full height and you will get short, medium, and tall versions. To spice up this library you will get ladders for the medium and tall versions.
Now let me reveal a little secret, I made functional secret book doors matching the shelves, I included arch versions too :) People were asking me to make them for years, but don't ask me why it took me so long to create them :D, I loved watching my testing sims walk through the book wall.
To fill up all the space I created 14 clutter items, 9 book pieces in two different styles and various sizes, 2 sculptures, 2 vases, and a box. I matched the slots to the dimensions of my items and everything can be mixed and matched quite well :)
This Set is on Early Access and you will find it here
Thank you again for all the support I hope you enjoy using this set!
Happy Simming and lots of Love,
Felix xxx

4t2 Book Nook Kit
Tumblr media
Here's the conversion I wanted to make for so long but was too afraid of all the modular items. Until I felt I had enough knowledge and was ready.
This set includes all objects from the kit, a set of wallpapers (panels), two default replacement files (optional) for Maxis book sculptures - Stack Of Books and Strength Of Humanity Book Ends and a collection file. @lordcrumps' shadow file is necessary for the shadows to work correctly, it's included but you can delete it if you have it already. Recolors are merged with meshes.
All book sculptures function as bookcases (like in this set), the rug is one tile only but with auto expanded footprint (so only one obj). The coffee table has slots on the surface and on the ends, near deco books. Stacked books are a bookcase too but also have one slot to put anything on it or stack the same object over to create a book tower. Standard bookcases and book shelves all have slots, bookcase shelves go on walls only (otherwise use moveobjects cheat) and are shiftable to create a modular look. Seams were smoothed where necessary and as always with my objects, no shine or very reasonable (like on glass surfaces). Because all parts are meant to be modular and take up the whole wall when combined, they will clip into ceilings, so be aware of that when taking pics ;)

If you decide to keep the default replacement files for the two book sculptures, i highly recommend also getting this mod ("functional book sculptures") by @midgethetree to make them functional.
Compressed, clearly labelled, picture included.

Made another tiny thing, a little fairytale-inspired library🪟A mix of DIY and found minis from Michael’s and a local antique mall, with polymer clay exterior (box was originally for sunglasses and was too fancy to throw away). (Sold)

Almost complete! It just needs a ceiling (transparent), a sign for the shop name, and an outer case so it doesn’t just look like messy cardboard. The individual patterns are all actual patterns (free downloadable ones)

Still working on the lil book nook thingy - though I still like seeing Sun and Moon guarding my meds atop the desk.
They still deserve a teeny lil daycare.

I redecorated my bookshelf today (not all of my books fit in there) and was thinking of putting something there to make it more cozy, the blanket is handmade by my granny and it’s one of the most precious things I own 🌞 reblog is ok, don’t repost

Prompt 8 - Devotion
@jegulus-microfic April 8, Word count 363
Regulus was enjoying a good book in his book nook. James had insisted on building him his own comfortable space. It had floor-to-ceiling bookcases crammed full of books. James had built a little window seat that looked out into the garden and the cherry blossom tree. Regulus spent hours in there, reading or just staring out the window.
He heard the front door open as James came back from the shops.
“You home, love?” James called into the house. Regulus put his finger in his book to keep his page.
“Yes, I’m reading.” He called back. James wouldn’t respond. If Regulus was reading, James tended to leave him alone.
Regulus settled back into his window seat and opened his book. He sniffed. A strong, almost unpleasant scent hit his nostrils. He sniffed again but couldn’t smell anything. He shrugged his shoulders, deciding he must have imagined it. A few minutes later, he smelled it again, and this time, it hung around. It was a strange mix of woodsy and floral. He didn’t like it.
“James?” He called from his nook. “James?” James came up the stairs, taking them two at a time.
“Yes, love?” He grinned as he popped his head around the corner. The smell followed him.
“Did you test scents at Boots again?” Regulus wrinkled his nose.
“Yes!” He beamed. “It’s a new one called Devotion. Do you like it?” Regulus pulled his jumper collar up over his nose.
“Not even a little bit. Go take a shower.” He added his sleeve to his face as well.
“Oh, that’s a shame,” James said with a mischievous grin.
“What are you plotting?” Regulus asked, shuffling back into his window seat as much as possible.
James grabbed him and rubbed himself all over Regulus, making sure the perfume coated him.
Regulus coughed as he tried to push James away.
“Go take a shower, you absolute pest!” James let him go and wandered off to the bathroom. Regulus yanked his jumper off and threw it away from himself. It still wasn’t enough.
Sighing, he put his bookmark into his book and followed James into the shower, which was probably James’s plan the entire time.
