This one feels kinda obvious lmao. Both were raised by awful rich people who treated them like a servant, both were orphans and both tended to the upkeep of their homes. I do think Louis has more of a backbone than Cinderella, especially towards the end of Part 1 of the manga. Also again: both are blondes lmao.

Moran - Merida

So…this one is mostly vibes but also not. I think Moran has a similar wild streak to Merida and accidentally turning a loved one into a bear because he didn’t watch his wording when asking a witch for a spell sounds like something Moran might do? Bear (hah) in mind I haven’t re-read Yuumori in a while so I may be wrong on that. Also I guess bows and arrows were the guns before guns were invented so…so there’s that lmao.

Bonde - Mulan

Feels like another obvious one? They both disguised their genders to achieve a goal (although I did interpret James to be a trans man whereas Mulan wasn’t rly? Cus she went back to presenting as female after the war so idk). They’re also both pretty outspoken and don’t care for the roles society has put them in as women and actively break that stigma (Mulan by going to war and James by often dressing as men even before he transitioned). Idk I just like this one lmao.

Fred - Snow White

Again, this is mostly vibes. I’m pretty sure Snow White is the youngest of the Disney Princesses at 14 (Don’t quote me on that cus I could be wrong), so I feel like that parallels Fred being the youngest of the Crime Gang. Snow White also has a connection to animals which can also connect to Fred’s love of cats and nature in general as he does most (all?) of the gardening. Mycroft - Megara

OKAY👏HEAR👏ME👏OUT. This is the only one I’m 100% confident on BSJDNKFS. They both have a niche obsession that they collect items from, Ariel with humans and Sherlock with Mysteries/Crime. technically this wasn’t your first christmas with jake

it was just your first christmas where you were both rly doing christmas together

since you guys had only moved into together that summer

as soon as december 1st had come, you guys immediately started preparing for christmas

on december 1st, the both of you went to get christmas decorations

you went to the store and filled your cart up with stuff

you guys picked out a reef together to put on your front door

then you got some basic ball ornaments

you guys also picked out some random decorations

one of them being some cute reindeer you planned to put on the pedestal above your guys’ fireplace

eventually, you guys got to the stockings section

jake got a stocking with the letter ‘j’

and you got a stocking with your initial

you then went back home and decorated your place with what you had so far (besides the ornaments ofc)

he drove you guys to the place where you’d be getting a tree

and he ended up doing most of the talking when it came to actually picking out the christmas tree

honestly, you didn’t really know what made a christmas tree good so…

after picking out the tree, you guys got a ticket that you’d use to pay for the tree

but you guys wanted to pick out some cute ornaments first

okay so after you guys got the ornaments thennnn you guys paid and got in the car

jake drove to the back where they’d be putting the trees on your car roof for you

after a few minutes it was done and we thanked the worker before finally driving home

when you got home was when you guys finally put up your tree

after putting the tree up and putting water in the bottom along with the tree skirt, you guys finally started putting up your ornaments

you guys had christmas music playing in the background as you guys put up your ornaments

afterwards, the both of you ordered takeout and ate it on the couch as you cuddled up and watched a christmas movie together

a week or so later you were confused when you got a package delivered to your house

it was to jake so you weren’t sure if you should open it just in case if it was your present or something so you simply left it on the counter- resisting the urge to look

later that night, jake came home from work and saw the small package on your counter

i’m gonna be so real with you voltron was so bad that once i finished s6 at like 15 yrs old i vowed never to watch it again 💀💀 six years later this vow holds true. however i remember liking the first episode, the mermaid episode, the space mall episode, and the episode where keith chases lotor in the black lion and lance is like dude you fucked up. dumbass. but he’s very obviously fond and he’s THERE and they’re gonna fix it together and that is the first time keith realises that lance fully and completely has his back. that is the moment he fell in love to me

i don’t know what a character beat is BUT i am a lance stan as you may have guessed. interestingly, i used to watch voltron with my siblings and as with all character things we did together, we each picked a favourite and then only that one character was allowed to be your favourite. lance was picked before i could pick him but i got keith (and thus have the most merch of him). and honestly….keith is kind of my favourite i never stop thinking about him and also i write in his pov the most (granted, about lance lol).

5. What's your favourite line you've ever written.

oh that’s a hard one! not to toot my own horn or anything but i’ve had some stellar lines, at least i think. i have a lot of lines that are profound or whatever but to this day i’m proudest of the “i’m anaemic” “oh i didn’t know you had an eating disorder” line like i made myself laugh out loud 💀

eighty percent of my fics are my faves bc i write to indulge myself lol. • his arm raises to gesture to you, and your face is flushed red, “ my partner , yn, we’ve been dating since college. that’s , what? , 8 years ? and today i’m ending that.” his words cause your stomach to drop and tsumu looks up at him - confused and almost angry- looking. osamu only chuckles.

• you feel like you’re gonna fucking cry

• he steps down from the table , “ yn ln, i don’t want to be your boyfriend anymore,” he walks closer and you can tell that your family is becoming restless, tension beading up in the air and threatening to crush you.

• the man pulls something from his pocket , and before you know it hes on his knee. the room is full of gasps, cheers, mutters of ‘ oh my god!’ ,’ someone record !’ as he opens the box. a ring.

•” baby, “ he says, goofy smile on his face ,” can i be your husband instead?”

• everyone is SCREAMING.

• tsumu is crying , your mother is crying , YOURE FUCKING CRYING

• you nod your head and he picks u up, spinning you around and kissing u

•the ring is a perfect fit , and amongst all the screams he whispers ,” fits like a glove . just like us. forever .”

• he only stops when he sees tears form in your shiny eyes, pulling back. he breathes deeply, muttering about what a brat you are.

• his first mistake is turning his back to you, his second is not guarding his sides.

• you jump onto him, small fingers poking him and drawing a loud, girly yelp from kiyoomi. before he knows it he’s on the floor, begging for mercy as you tickling his sides- his neck- every part of him you can touch. his feverish giggles and attempts to grab your fast hands make you smile

It’s the first time since Leo’s return that you’ve all gone to Casey’s grandma’s farmhouse. Now, the good thing about it is that it’s always available for your use!

So as you all pile up in the shell-raiser while Raph drives his bike with Casey, you’re all ready for a nice relaxing, well-needed vacation

Especially Leonardo.

It’s been hard on him after Winter’s. Sure, he’s rebuilt his relationship with Raph, and they’re cool now- everything was. But…

Something’s been weighing on his mind.

Was he really stronger? He didn’t even see the dart hit him, he was so caught up that he forgot about his own safety, and almost got sacrificed by some 3000-year-old stone guys because of it.

Not only this but, was your relationship still the same with him?

He beats himself over not sending you letters anymore during his training. He knows (thanks to a slightly irritated Donnie,) that you thought he wanted nothing to do with you while on his training; with no distractions. Or worse, that he was dead. 

“You should talk to Y/n, your absence has also been hard for them, much like Raphael.” He remembers what his father said when he came back. It rings through his head all the time because he didn’t mean to leave you hanging like that. 

You work on rebuilding your relationship after the whole Winters thing because Leo comes home at the perfect time when everything was chaotic. 

He starts by apologizing. He should’ve at least told you the reason why he was going to stop, but, he doesn’t remember exactly why. 

“I was caught up in my own world, and all of a sudden, I just stopped. I stopped writing.” 

This was a double entendre, writing to his brothers, yes, but writing in general for Leo was one of his strong suits. He loved to write. He was great at poetry and had a thing for short narratives. 

He has a dream that he can be an author- that’s what he would love to do. 

When you forgive him and take him back with open arms, he’s so happy he could scream.

Because he fucked up. He’s lucky that you loved him as much as you did. 

As he sits next to you and watches the farmhouse come closer into view, he’s excited. This trip meant that he could spend some overdue quality time with you.

And by kids I mean Mikey,” Raphael says to Leo before retreating to his room with Mikey already whipping out his comic collection for him and his older brother to browse. This innuendo makes Leo blush, but it’s not something on his mind as a priority. Yes, he’s missed you, and yes, he’s missed loving on you, but right now, he wanted to ease back into things. 

If it happens, it happens. He was content with anything.

He’s excited, especially when he comes into your shared guest room and it’s dimly lit. Sharing a bed and room with you was something he had been looking forward to. It meant quality time.

Alone time, a romantic time. Something that had been lacking for the year and change of his training.

As you both got the room with a bathroom inside, he sees the candlelight become more prominent under the bathroom door, almost glowing in an enticing manner.

It’s left open a crack, but he doesn’t know where you’re at. It can’t be you in there, so he opens the door slowly, wondering what could be on the other end.

He’s shocked when he sees it. He sees the tub filled with bubbles, as the humidity from the hot water clings to his skin. The smooth music from his favorite indie group playing on the speaker- your speaker. The eucalyptus leaves hang from the showerhead, and the scent fills the room. 

“Hey.” Your soft voice tickles his ears, and he’s set. 

As he turns around to you, he smiles at your form. You stand in the doorway, laughing softly at how happy he seemed as you explain what the hell this all is.

“It’s…for you. You deserve a night off just relaxing. Some Leo time, if you will.”

He accepts your offer as he could almost cry at how nicely you put this all together, that you thought about him this whole time. 

“Join me?” Leo couldn’t help but ask. 

You do. You do in fact join. 

And…it’s amazing. Leo unwraps his bandages and unties his mask, getting inside and immediately feeling relaxed as soon as the hot water touches his body. Leo’s favorite thing had to be baths, especially when he was younger. He loved to just sit inside and let time pass until the water became cold.

You take off your clothes, walking over to the tub as you sit in front of Leo, his hands immediately wrapping around you. 

He feels like home to you, as you do to him. 

“I’m sorry.” 

He apologizes. Once you both get comfortable and sit in stillness, enjoying each other’s presence, he just says it. He’s apologized for being absent and the letters stopping before, but he can’t help but continue to feel guilty for it. 

Your fingers draw circles in his hands, and you look back at him, kissing him gently on the cheek. 

“You’re here now, that’s what I care about.” 

That just sends him over. Because you truly forgive him after all that. After all that he’s done- or his lack thereof.

You forgive him.

“How did I get so lucky, seriously.” He mutters just loud enough for you to hear. He could die in this position. He was holding you, while you both shared a rather platonic intimate moment with each other. You chose to mix Epsom salt with the tub water, and Leo’s muscles and joints had never felt so relaxed in a bath before. That was your secret ingredient, just for your boyfriend.

So when you both seemingly cuddle in the tub, Leo, for the first time since being taken and having to battle for the curse of Yaotl, is 100% relaxed and calm. 

Because that’s how Leo is. He’s cool, calm, and collected. At least, he tries to be. Most of the time he is, depending on the situation. 

But right now, with you, he has nothing but positive thoughts running through his mind.

He thanks you with a kiss on your forehead, followed by a tight squeeze around your waist, he’s missed this.

Being so close to you, so happy, so at home. 

He can’t thank you enough.

King behavior king energy and he’s getting the king treatment yall!

Leo’s absence had been hard on him, honestly. 

He’s around you more, not that he didn’t already spend his time with you, but he seemed to gravitate toward you at any point. Like he HAD to be around you.  

You comfort him a lot of the time. Yes, Leo was your friend; yes, you miss him dearly. But, he should have continued to write to everyone.

Raph comes over all the time because the Lair reminds him too much of the memories of Leo. 

He thinks his brother is dead at one point. 

It crosses his mind while patrolling as the Nightwatcher, after being a few weeks overdue for a letter from Leo

He comes to your window, broken, with a frail state of mind. Because he really doesn’t want his brothers to see him like this, but he can’t deal with the thought of losing his older brother-his mentor-his right-hand man- alone. 

You take him in, of course, and it’s the first time Raph has cried in front of anybody other than his Sensei. You just sit there and hold him for hours, eventually falling asleep with his head on your lap once he calms down. 

You hoped Leo was okay, and when months go by, April sees him while on a business trip

“Baby, he’s alive, look-“ you show him the text from April, and he gets the same one just a few moments later from the redhead. 

He’s relieved but mad at the same time. 

So, he begins to resent his older brother. He had no business putting Raph in that headspace. 

So when Leo comes back and everything goes down, he’s so glad he has you. He appreciates you so much. 

After the fight with the stone generals, he sleeps the whole day, getting up to shower and see you. Because he wants to tell you how much he appreciates you. 

He’s cried in front of you, and that’s the ultimate sign of comfort from Raph. He often keeps more fragile emotions inside him. So for him to break down like that in front of you (and Splinter as well,) is a beautiful realization that he feels safe being vulnerable around you. 

He comes up to your window, smiling as he watches you brush your hair, admiring your body and facial features. As he knocks on your window and takes you out of your own little world, you welcome him inside, giving him a slew of kisses on his lips, and ending it with a soft peck on his forehead. 

He needed that forehead kiss btw

That’s his weakness. He likes loving kisses like that. Though he may not be vocal about it, you can tell by his face that he enjoys it. 

“Hello ta ya too, angel.”

And as you sit together, your hands make their way around Raph’s body. Your hands seem to gravitate toward his shoulders, and before you know it, you’re massaging Raph’s arms and shoulders. 

“Wha…what are ya doin?” Not that he’s complaining, but he HAS to ask. 

Because it feels good, and you’ve never done it before

“Judging by your soreness and tenseness lately, you could use a calming massage.”

He just looks at you for a moment, before he gives in, with a small smile dancing on his lips as he turns around and lets you go back to what you were doing.

He’s all for touching, and this right here was something he needed. 

It’s no surprise that he just relaxes under your touch. As you go to work on his (very sexy) muscles, you can feel just how tense they are. Raphael doesn’t like to stretch after a workout, so it’s really not a shock that his sore muscles are enjoying everything that your hands are doing 

He just sits there in front of you while his shell is back to you, and you can’t help but feel his shoulders- his biceps- every muscle this turtle has been working on perfecting. 

And he loves it. He loves that you find him and his body attractive because it’s something he resented about himself.

“I love you.” 

Now, you’ve said I love you to Raph only a handful of times. It wasn’t something that he or you said too much. You didn’t overuse the word. It held meaning, and it wasn’t something he wanted to just throw around. So when you told each other that you loved each other, it was seriously special.

“And…I’m glad that Leo came back alive. For your sake..” 

You say that sincerely, seeing Raphael break down as he did was hard for you. He’s always so strong, that it hurt to see him like that. He truly needed you to comfort him that night, and he’s been so glad that you did.

And as he’s sitting there in front of you, eyes staring off into a dark abyss since they’re closed, he thinks that he fell in love with the right one. 

“I love ya too Y/n. Really.” 

He makes small grunts when you touch particularly tense areas on him, and even lets a quiet moan out when you successfully got a knot out in his neck. It all felt so good. He could just sit with you doing this for hours; days even.

Because honestly, 2007 Raph just needs someone to appreciate and love him. To be there at the rare times he is weak. That’s just how he is.

okay, okay, so!! if the kagebros got separated from reigen and teru when mob is still fine, i imagine that their reunion would be hEARTWRENCHING also, i'm a bit curious, would mob still be able to recognize teru and reigen? or would he thought about them as strangers?

(tbh, following your lore, i imagine mob would act a similarly like nezuko from demon slayer? but instead of little hums, his zombie sounds would more like babbling and incoherent mumbles :"D)

the reunion is fuckin AWFUL man it's SO gut-wrenching. both reigen and teru feared this for Months while looking for the brothers; pretty much the worst case scenario was that mob or ritsu or Both turned—a lot of humans prefer death over being a zombie any day, so the idea of ritsu or mob having to go through that and wander around aimlessly until starvation or smth else gets them,,,

it hurts them so much to think about. teru forces himself not to dwell on it and he's pretty good at that but reigen thinks abt it a lot and he's honestly not sure what scenario is worse. best case is that they're both alive and unturned, obviously, but what's the worst case? you'd think it's both of them getting killed, or turning, but reigen also knows that if One of them got killed/turned, the other would probably lose their mind, especially if they had to watch. the fact that they're kids makes this all three times worse and reigen has to act like he's Not worrying himself sick over the brothers while he tries to keep teru in high spirits

the reunion itself is rly fuckin gut-wrenching for them. they see mob from afar, wandered off just a bit from ritsu and tome who are just around the bend looting a place, and they book it bc ofc they do, it's mob!! but then they see how pale he is, and when he turns around they don't see that light in his eyes that's usually there and the red is dulled and dead looking,, teru almost moves in for a hug before he realizes mob looks vastly different when he Rly takes him in, and mob doesn't rly react too much besides staring at them blankly. the obvious answer is almost too horrifying to even consider, so it takes them a minute to rly,,realize what's going on

tome comes around the bend and shouts, cuz when humans and zombies mix it's usually guns pointed at zombie heads. ritsu comes running out after her and when he sees reigen and teru his thoughts go, in order: holy shit is that reigen and tero ohmygod oh my god they're alive they're alive ohmy god i could fucking cry, and ohmy god they see shige ohno oh no oh no

ritsu sounds like a lunatic when he pulls mob away from them on instinct and says that he's safe to be around and that he's "still him" and he's "not gone" and he's very aware of that. he's very, intimately aware that he sounds fuckin crazy, bc ofc he does, this is what all the crazy people in zombie movies sound like. but he doesn't care, he doesn't care if reigen or teru dismiss him as nuts—he has to make them understand that his brother is still in there somewhere

and yeah, they both kinda think that ritsu's lost his marbles a little bit, but while teru is focused on that and the fact that mob doesn't look like he's rly tuned into Anything that's happening rn, reigen is a bit more focused on the fact that both ritsu and mob look awful? they're both very skinny and very dirty, obviously barely scraping by. they're cut up and ritsu's jacket is basically blood and dirt with a little bit of green fabric mixed in. and just by the look in ritsu's eyes, reigen can tell, man ... reigen can tell ritsu is like.not okay at this point he's kinda lost it.

i think the most painful thing about this whole reunion in general is that later that night, when reigen and teru r finally like ok we get it he's,, he's still mob. we believe you (they want to believe him... [they Do believe him, later, wholeheartedly]) and they settle down someplace safe, teru asks how long mob's been like this. and ritsu has to answer "since we got separated" and they both have that to stew over while everybody else sleeps

they realize that ritsu likely watched mob turn, watched the entire process, and that process takes a long time. it's at least a week of deteriorating motor functions and cognitive skill, and the fact that ritsu stayed for that to keep mob company is .ough. and it doesn't end there bc ritsu obviously stayed after that too

given how these things usually go, ritsu probably did think about killing mob. it probably did cross his mind, bc that's basically what everybody's been told to do. kill them before they have a chance to do any more damage. and it's obvious that ritsu did not have it in him

ritsu not only did not have it in him to kill him, he didn't even have it in him to leave him there. the kid fucking took him with him. a zombie. and he's somehow made it work, for months. and the next few days are filled with watching him still treat mob like a brother and take care of him and gently steer him away from a bird he tries to follow down the wrong street.ritsu is as gentle and kind as he's ever been with his brother. and even tho they're both hungry and tired and barely making it, ritsu is doing a rly good job taking care of mob with what he's been given

the kid obviously wholeheartedly believes in a cure and that mob is still There. he's gone through the trouble to take care of him, and the grief of continuously seeing a loved one that many would consider effectively dead, to get him that cure. to get him his brother back. and mob doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress, so reigen and teru think that this path ritsu has followed is probably infinitely kinder than the mercy kill method they've been taught to do

i think they have a new respect for ritsu, after that reunion

@seanonthemoon (idk why i cant tag u BUT) interesting... i gotta be honest I don't think abt the crests that much. i agree that they're very much like heres the "girl" crest heres the "nerd boy" crest etc to the point that it becomes almost meaningless. but i think what makes them even more meaningless to me, and is probably the reason they kind of designated girl/boy crests etc is that i think like the digivices they're toys and merchandise more than they are actual narrative tools LOL. I wouldve loved something with cody and mimi! theyre both so deeply empathetic and sensitive.. theres a lot they share but i think because they look so different on the surface it would make it difficult to market that merch...booo capitalism boooo toy marketing its all sexist bullshit at least here in the u.s. idk if japan is that different though.

I'm actually a little frustrated with how often 02 and 02 related media squanders cody in general lol. he feels like a parallel of izzy, joe, and TK(season 1 tk) while also being kind of none of those and suffering through lackluster characterization as a result... and then once ken joins the team it feels a little redundant. there's a couple cody-centric eps of 02 I remember really liking but then i think abt how he's been used since in like post-series content and 02:the beginning where they made him type on the computer even though obviously that's yoleis thing but because he had nothing else to do and aghh... my blood boils. i feel like the youngest but most serious anime achetype even at its bare bones is actually rly interesting idk why they don't play it up. UM. Once again my opinion is that he should be taller LOL and maybe they should play up his kendo martial arts honorable training stuff more idk. tallest + youngest + most serious just seems like a recipe for success for me. well. theres still time. and theres always fanfic.

THIS IS SO NICE TO SAY and not the first time someone has said it but i appreciate it everytime because i really admire the mm art style so much. It's like part of why I got really into the movie because I really recognized my own artistic sensibilities and aspirations in the way they stylized everything.

UM And i feel like since watching the movie and looking at all the concept art and making my own art i do feel like its only become more obvious how much my own art is lacking LOL LIKE when you see something that feels so similar I think the differences only become more stark. those artists are definitely on a different level than me. But it's nice to hear people say it doesn't look so different from their pov. thank u ^^

DLKGDSGDLALSNDF WAS IT TOO FAR..?? firstly, yeah I was thinking late teen/young adult ages for both of them ie 18-19ish, definitely not the age the kids are in the movie lol.

but also they arent DOING anything in that pic it is literally just a confrontation + some innuendo... I think teens should be allowed some less than subtle innuendo.. its like one of the top 3 classically teen pastimes...

this is such a funny ask to get because i feel like i haven't been able to do thin lineart until like. this past year or two maybe LOL. UM having a line-centric art job helped I think. I started on craig of the creek back in 2022 and thats a show where we spend a lot of time inking so I had a job where I was constantly moderating my line weight 40 hours a week every week for over a year. disappointingly, much of improvement is simply horrendous amounts of practice.

Here's a tip though: I think a lot of thin lineart boils down to confidence. I think instinctively we read thick, bold, fast lines as confident but theres actually a lot of obscuring you can do with a thick line. if you're not sure whether the nose on the face or a browline should be a little more left or a little more down you can hide that with a thick line and pretend its a shadow. or hide it with a bunch of quick lines and the eye can kind of approximate where looks best among the mass.. whereas a thin line is rly singular and stark and hides nothing, it needs to be precise. so anytime i know i want thin lineart i spend a LOT of time sketching, making sure i know exactly where i want my lines to go. so im not second guessing by the time im inking...

ok thats kind of a broad tip lol... here's one thats more applicable: IF POSSIBLE, lower your pressure sensitivity on your device. most devices have some way to edit your pressure sensitivity curve. I use a surface pro at home and this is what my pressure curve looks like most of the time.

When I work on a wacom it looks even more like a reverse L shape LOL. I'm naturally a really heavy-handed artist and I use a "light" or "hard" pressure curve to compensate for how hard I'm always pressing on the pen lol. if you're like me and you struggle with going too hard with the ink too fast... this will probably help a lot!

SFHASLDFH I LOVE THIS ASK this is like the type of question a person gets asked when chalk drawing on the sidewalk at recess LOL. but i understand because I've been struggling also for like. months. I think I'm finally starting to nail it down though so here's some of my observations.

[feel free to save this img but **please do not re-post it or share broadly**. my biggest fear in the world is to spend 30 min on some notes and become a widely proliferated art tutorial im not even kidding. i made it low contrast and difficult to read on purpose.]

my other tip is to just look at and study a lot of reference because that's all ive been doing. the tmnt are really cartoony so its difficult to use like actual anatomical reference unless ur going for that look BUT theres been so many adaptions in so many different styles that there's a real treasure trove of stuff to look at for how to simplify, stylize, and dissect these characters while keeping the recognizable essence. so theres lots to pull from.

If you want to expand further, it's also good to have 5) something sci-fi 6)something fantasy 7)something mundane/slice of life. a bedroom is a really good go-to. And of course some bgs can be two or more of these things at once.

I've definitely answered asks abt bg tips before but here's one specifically for if you want to do bg design for a job:

Your portfolio should probably have at least one of each of the following 1) an interior 2) an exterior 3) a cityscape 4) a nature scene. Just to cover kind of the basics of what you'd be asked to draw on any given project.

I actually feel like I don't have that many cityscrapes in my portfolio... this is something I'm gonna try to work on in the coming year LOL. OH ALSO. This is a very basic tip and people will tell you it all the time but its worth repeating: look up portfolio websites of artists who have the job you want. An easy way to do this is to go onto imdb for any cartoon or movie you like and to find the names listed as "bg/background designer" or whatever then just google that name +"art" or "animation" most artists have some public facing internet presence so it's not hard. spend time studying their work and hold those images in your head! it's a good way to get a good idea of what "industry standard" looks like and comparing ur own art to it... I know people sometimes get bummed comparing their art to others but if you can keep your head up lol.. it'll help you figure out what you need to work on!
