I am, once again, asking you to add a pfp or header and reblog at least one (1) post so tumblr (and your favorite content creators) doesn't think your blank blog is a bot.
Your picture doesn't even have to be of you. Put up a picture of your pet or favorite animal or favorite anime character or even just a plain color. Any color. Otherwise, you will be blocked!
So if your blog looks anything like this:
Tumblr media
just add something. A header, a pfp, and reblog a post.
Also, if you are under 18 years old, do not interact with my blog. I write mainly nsfw content and I'm almost 30 years old. This is MY blog and I will not be made to feel uncomfortable on my own blog.
Go away.

Hey @staff I have a suggestion:
You want to foster user interaction, right? What site doesn't, after all?
I've seen in a few posts that new users are forced to follow a bunch of people at random before they can make it clear they're not a bot. I recently cleaned out my followers of the obvious bots, and I've blocked a few new followers since, but I have no idea whether they were bots or just poor innocent new users.
So you want this site to thrive? Let new users choose a profile picture, or write a bio, or literally ANYTHING to distinguish themselves before you force them to follow a bunch of people who immediately block them.

Just a reminder that if I check a new follower and find a blank blog, you’re getting blocked.
Make your blog and at least have some kind of bio that says “hey, I’m human and setting my blog up” so I don’t think you’re another bot.
I know some people sign up with a main blog and then use a sideblog as their blog for more of a buffer of anonymity, but please make sure your main blog isn’t blank.

Ugh…
The fact that a bot liked my last post about removing bots from my followers list is both hilarious and annoying. I’m literally going to be doing the followers cleanse because of you! Instant block!

Anti-bot measures
If you want to follow this account & don't want to be blocked:
Please, put a profile picture that doesn't give me the impresseion that you are a bot.
Please, like/create/reblog at least one post in order to follow this account.
I block all accounts that have suspicious profile pictures & blogs that are empty.
It's a pity that I might have to block innocent followers who had no bad intentions. I know that not all people use Tumblr to actively like/post or reblog or that some people might prefere to not put a profile picture (like me in the past), but blocking bots on a daily basis is no fun either.
So, thank you very much for your understanding & enjoy this blog!
Have a nice day ;-)

PSA for New Users/Blank Blogs/Ageless Blogs
If you keep getting blocked from content creator blogs there are three major reasons and ways to fix them.
🚩🚩🚩This is a Huge RED flag!🚩🚩🚩
Tumblr media
1. Update your avatar. Anything besides the default picture.
2. Update your blog title and description. Add your age range, Minor, or 18+ to the blog title/description. "Untitled" is a red flag that you are a bot. Something as simple as "Here for the fanfic! 18+" will do it.
3. Reblog or post something to let us know you aren't just a bot. You can reblog some of your favorite content or make a post that just says "Human. Please don't block me!"
Please respect others' boundaries. If a blog says they are 18+, don't follow them if you are a minor. If a blog posts things you aren't interested in, unfollow or block them.
Most of all, be kind. Kindness costs nothing and means everything.

“people who don’t block and report bots are why they’re still here” actually staff not properly dealing with them theirselves is why the bots are still here, not people who got tired of having to block and report several bots a day

Is tumblr going to do something about all these bots that are flooding the site? I honestly hate it here. This is how my followers look like. It's been weeks and every day I get tons of those:

WTF, seriously.

So I've never really sat down and blocked all my bot followers, and I'm feeling good, so I'm actually gonna try and get them all, or at least make a dent.
So I'm sitting at 772, and I'll start checking them out once I hit post. Let's see what number it gets reduced to.

A word of advice
If you are new to tumblr, I’m sure you have already heard this, but I advise you to change your profile picture and add some stuff to your blogs! Commonly bots have the generic everything, and alas there are a lot of them roaming about. I say this because I don’t want to block anyone, but there are a lot of accounts who appear to be bots who are following or liking this account, and I don’t want to accidentally block any non bots!

i personally don’t agree with your statement what you’re expected to reblog. i thought i could just use this app for fun and to read about my fav artists without being expected to do anything, and never really planned on being active and making reblogging a routine parr of my reading experience
then i guess you're not really aware with how this app works. tumblr is a reblogging site. that's the only way posts, or in this case fics, can get around and reach new audiences. the algorithm doesn't care aboit likes. tumblr doesn't care about comments (but i appreciate those as well!!)
if you enjoy and have fun reading the works of authors who spend hours of their days making content for you to consume, don't you think the bare minimum you can do is click that tiny button at the bottom of the post to show your appreciation, no?
