literally cannot get short haired maribug out of my head.
her pigtails are so long, middle-back long, and Alya and Kagami love love love to braid it and run their hands through it and say how cute she is with long hair and when she doesn’t want to take do anything to it for fancy events and just want to throw it in a chignon, they come over to talk and do her hair—
but chat’s always on her fucking hair. he throws his arm around her cheekily during an interview and she’s steaming because she can’t move her head now without it being caught on his arm, his cuff. he rolls her to save her and she’s like “get UP!!! I’m on my own hair ow ow”, or he hugs her from behind and she’s like “this is really sweet but please move my pigtails to the front so help me god”
so she has her first big Chop and gets a pixie

I loved and guessed at you, you construed me
Tumblr media
It was not that he was waiting for her as much as that he was most often in the faculty sitting room at this hour and so was she and the staff knew to leave out a full tea service and also a magically chilled bottle of very dry amontillado, the color of her eyes. And then to tell anyone else that the room was occupied and that they were not to be disturbed.
It wasn’t that he was waiting for her, but he did look up when she came into the room, letting the ancient, rare and precious book he held slip out of his hand, an instinctive, wandless spell keeping it from clattering onto the floor.
“You cut your hair,” Draco said.
Any pretense to eloquence, savoir-faire, or intellectual rigor associated with achieving his Potions Mastery and Mwandamizi kemia had been decimated by the four words, uttered in a tone of complete shock, which given his Pureblood upbringing meant flat, with a hint of scorn. He had spent the past twelve years working to convince Hermione he wasn’t that man anymore, the one who would have meant the scorn, the fault-finding appraisal, cold and superior and not terribly clever underneath it all.
(The one he’d felt doomed to become before the chandelier fell in his family’s ballroom. Before she’d testified to keep him out of Azkaban. Before she’d returned his formal letter of apology with a brief addendum You were a child, Draco an absolution he didn’t deserve.)
Blaise always said he was his own worst enemy. Theo always nodded and offered a glass of single malt Scotch. Neville always shrugged and tried to reassure Draco, meandering through some nonsense about how they’d all had to grow up too soon, let down by the adults, forced to experience trauma that they’d been lucky to survive and a plate of buttered toast would soon set him to rights.
Luna changed the subject and talked about some possibly fictional chimerical creature to take his mind off his shortcomings. It never worked but he appreciated her effort and consistency.
“I suppose that’s better than ‘Bloody hell.’ And “Holy fucking Christ.’ Harry reverts to Muggle obscenity when he’s really surprised,” Hermione replied. “You only told me what I already know, as I didn’t accidentally fall into a Mongolian silver scissor-bush.”
“Is that a thing?” Draco asked.
He had to keep talking but there was a lot to take in, the startlingly gorgeous line of her bare neck, the angle of her jaw, how her eyes looked enormous, luminous. How her chestnut hair was swept across her brow and came to a delicate little point on the nape of her neck, all these hidden aspects suddenly marvels revealed. Suddenly, astonishingly breath-taking and erotic and also heart-breaking, because he’d wanted so to run his fingers through her loose hair, to stand behind her and draw a brush through her curls. Watching her eyes get drowsy in the dressing-table’s looking-glass, resting a hand on her bare shoulder and feeling the tickling silk of her hair. He’d wanted to cast the spell that ended the charm securing her chignon, to pull out the jeweled pins she used to keep her braids in the coronet around her head.
“No. It sounds like something Luna would mention though,” Hermione shrugged. It was as if he’d never seen the gesture before.
“It’s a lot to take in,” he said.
“It’s actually not. It’s both literally and figuratively not,” she said, rolling her eyes. “Snape being a double-agent in love with Harry’s mum was a lot to take in. Any Sunday lunch at Molly Weasley’s table is a lot to take in. War and Peace in the original Russian without a translation charm is a lot to take in. I took off a few inches—”
“A few inches?”
“Fine, I got the first professional, Muggle, haircut of my adult life because I was fed up with my hair and charms and Sleekeezy and glamours, so many glamours, and you would think I have announced I am Grindelwald’s secret lovechild,” she said in a tone of complete exasperation, pursing her lips in a matching moué he felt an impossible urge to kiss very thoroughly and until she was gasping his name.
He was fairly certain that action would not be requited, not now, and potentially not ever.
But definitely not now.
She was now almost glaring at him, waiting for a response.
If this was ever to become something beyond hopeless pining, if he were ever to be allowed to call her sweetheart and coax her back to bed, he couldn’t get the next part wrong.
“Are you happy with it?” he said. It was a gamble, saying anything would have been a gamble, but there was a chance he’d gotten it right.
He’d surprised her, that he could tell instantly, though her face changed very subtly. It meant no one else who’d seen her had asked and considered she might be. No one else had thought about why she’d done it, only what they thought of it. Evidently, both Weasley and Potter had indicated a negative response, Weasley likely driven by his own unrealized Pureblood upbringing, where all witches wanted the long hair associated with power and Potter never wanted her to be anything other than she’d been in their youth, when her unruly hair was her most obvious signifier.
“Yes, I think I am,” she said.
“That’s good. That’s what matters,” he said. He was supposed to reference the book he’d been reading or follow-up on their most recent conversation about geopolitics or whether Chopin was a Squib or at the very least offer her something to drink, the tea first and then, when she demurred, the sherry. But all of those would require him to look away from her and he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Not quite yet.
“I ought to have done it a long time ago,” she said. She spoke without her usual forthright confidence, but also without any of the regret the statement might have implied. She sounded hesitant, as if she wanted something from him she felt she shouldn’t. Or shouldn’t ask for.
It was tempting to make some sort of declaration, offer reassurance or an argument. But he’d gotten this far by asking her a question.
“Why do you say that?”
“I don’t know. It would have been a way to move on. Grow up. Make my life easier, decide it for myself,” she said. She was watching him very closely as she spoke. She liked that he’d asked, though she wasn’t smiling. “It wouldn’t have been grief or some kind of, I don’t know, unhinged trauma response.”
It would very much have been a response to the colossal trauma she’d experienced if she’d hacked it all off after being tortured, and it wouldn’t have been unhinged when one considered the myriad extremely risky alternatives she might have chosen, but Draco wasn’t about to ruin everything. Even as his own worst enemy, he could keep from doing that.
“It could have been just something you do when you’re in your twenties, trying something out. Like, going to the Maldives or studying Norn. Learning earth magic from tribal elders in Namib.”
“Only you would saying learning earth magic in Namib is something you do in your twenties,” Draco said wryly. “Most people just go to the pub and fret a lot.”
“You didn’t,” she said.
“I think it’s well established I’m not most people,” he said.
“No. You’re not. You’re the only person who didn’t tell me cutting my hair was a terrible mistake,” she said. “As if it could even remotely compare to the other terrible mistakes I’ve made.”
“It’s not a terrible mistake,” he said. “And you’re the person I know best whose made the fewest terrible mistakes in her life and we can sit here drinking sherry talking about it because of it.”
“My parents wouldn’t agree,” she said.
“Neither would mine. I wonder how people grow up when they don’t have to discover their parents were deeply, entirely wrong about something absolutely crucial to survival,” Draco said.
“We could ask Blaise Zabini,” Hermione said after very clearly Thinking About It, a little crease appearing between her eyebrows.
“Too risky,” Draco replied. “It’s only the husbands people talk about but people have a way of disappearing when they ask questions about his mother.”
“No one would comment on her haircut,” Hermione said wistfully. “What a bloody icon.”
Draco laughed, startled.
“You’re enchanting,” he blurted out. Stupid, gauche, impulsive—he could go on (and on) about how ill-considered it had been.
“Well, I am a witch,” she said. She did not seem put off. In fact, she smiled at him, a little shyly.  “Goes with the territory—”
“You enchant me. Bewitch me,” he said, throwing caution to the winds. “You don’t want anyone to comment on how you look, so I shouldn’t but you’re exquisite—”
He broke off, fearing he’d broken it all. She was still in the room and he still had all his bits and bobs, when he knew she was a dab hand at wandless curses. It was rather late to decide discretion was the better part of valor, but better late than never.
“I didn’t do it for you,” she said.
“No,” he replied.
“I didn’t do it only for you,” she clarified. “But I was curious to see how you’d react.”
“Did you have a hypothesis? You usually do,” he said.
“Yes. You’ve exceeded it slightly,” she said. There was a gleam in those sherry-brown eyes and when she tilted her head to the side, he understood the vampire’s insatiable lust.
“I can do better than slightly,” he said, half-dazed with the realization that she was requiting far more than he’d ever imagined. And that she’d imagined his response to seeing her bare neck, had wanted his admiration. He got up from his chair and crossed the room to her, standing close enough to take her in his arms. “I can do a wide margin. Prodigious. Overwhelmingly—”
“I like prodigious,” she said and he leaned in and kissed her parted lips softly, then deeply, one hand at her waist, the other cupping her cheek. The urge to possess her was tremendous, held in check only by an immense and constant tenderness, the moon that could pull the devouring tide back from the shore.
“Can I see overwhelmingly?” she whispered. “For comparison—”
“Of course,” he answered and moved to kiss her neck. He tasted the pulse of her carotid, sucking gently where he wanted to nip her. He moved back up to the hollow behind her ear, grazing her lobe with his tongue, then murmured,
“You cut your hair. I love it.”

To avoid being slapped with a copyright lawsuit, I won't t/n the entire news article. I'll just briefly summarise it.
Introduction
Ikemen Villains is a project to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Ikemen Series. The game's concept is "darkest and most addictive romance story".
For a quick glance at the game's storyline, you can read the story synopsis here.
4GAMER has released interviews with the voice actors of some characters, so be sure to check them out. You can find them on Ikemen Villain's official twitter page because they've retweeted the articles. They also interviewed the game developer (aka our CYBIRD).
Game System
I'm sure everyone's curious what the game will be like, and so it was revealed in this 4GAMER article.
Like the other Ikemen Series games, you will be able to read one story chapter for free each day.
The love interest's reaction will be different, depending the choices you make. The type of story ending you will receive may also be affected.
There will be the avatar system where you can dress your avatar and his avatar up nicely. You can also obtain cards of your favourite love interest and listen to his lovely voice 😻
Ikemen Villains will have the commu system, just like Ikemen Prince! You can increase your commu level by reading his main story, or setting him as your "escort" (i'm guessing this is the same as IkePri's salon system). You will receive special avatar items and fully voiced stories as your commu level gets higher. Each love interest as 13 commu stories and there are 9 love interests, so that's 117 commu stories in total.

testing out humanization for Hollow. the colors for the second/third row hairs are sampled from the canon character sheets. much as i love the big natural hair poofs, i think Hollow probably prefers chignons and braids (assuming they’re left to their own devices).
tried for a very loose blend of edwardian and renaissance.

Chez le coiffeur , French vocab
Tumblr media
Aller chez le coiffeur : to go to the hairdresser / hair salon
"J'ai rendez-vous chez le coiffeur dans une heure." // "I have a hair appointment in an hour."
IMPORTANT NOTE :
"Hair" in French is used in the plural form ! If you're talking about "un cheveu " you're talking about a single string of hair.
"Mes cheveux sont mouillés !" // "My hair is wet !"
"J'ai trouvé un cheveu dans ma soupe." // "I found a hair in my soup."
Note : "Cheveux" is often pronounced as "ch'veux"
"Sit in this armchair and lean your head back."
- "La température de l'eau vous convient ? Dites moi si c'est trop chaud." // "Is the water temperature right for you? Let me know if it's too hot."
- "Je vous fais un soin ?" // "Should I give you a (hair) treatment?"
- "Alors, qu'est-ce que je vous fais ?" // lit. translation : "So what do I do to you?". It's basically "What do you want ?"
Possible answers :
- "Vous pouvez juste me coupez les pointes s'il vous plait ?" //
"Could you just trim the ends for me please?"
-> Couper les pointes : to trim the ends
- "Vous pouvez me les lisser ?" // Can you straighten it for me?
-> lisser = to straighten
(Again, hair is used in the plural form in French so it's "les lisser" and not "le lisser")
- "Vous pouvez me faire un brushing ?" // Can you give me a blow-dry?
-> un brushing*= a blow-dry
(*faux anglicisme and it has to be pronounced with a French accent)
Coupes de cheveux et coiffures : Haircuts and hairstyles
un dégradé : layered cut
une frange : a fringe
une coupe au carré : a bob
une boucle : a curl
un chignon : a bun
une tresse : a braid
une queue de cheval = a ponytail
And finally : As you're staring at the most horrendous haircut of your life, the hairdresser will ask you :
"Ça vous plait ?" // "Do you like it ?"
and you will lie and answer :
"'C'est parfait ! Merci !" // "It's perfect ! Thank you !"

Genderbent Artemis fowl
(I know that there's a fair amount of people who like to read Artemis as being transfeminine and coming out after the main series, so for this prompt, I borrowed from some of the headcanons I used to see back in the day about transfemme!Artemis)
She’d long since adopted a chignon bun as her standard means of styling her hair due to its simple elegance – though Minerva would claim that the hairstyle was a sign that deep down, Artemis found a French sartorial affectation more appealing than her usual, ambiguous continental presentation.
When Artemis had been young, her hair had only partially grown out when they’d received the news of the Fowl Star’s sinking. Taking care of long hair was still novel to her, and the tragic news rendered the task of combing through it each night impossible. Engaging in activities that were a reminder that she was living, and thus needed to take care of herself, sickened her.
For those first few weeks, she’d wordlessly let Butler tie her hair into a simple braid in the evenings, the style mimicking the one Juliet wore each day.
Slowly, as Artemis’ heart hardened to grief, finding it too hard to bear day in and day out, she found herself able to pick up a brush again.
Years in the future, Artemis will occasionally be struck by the desire to linger during her morning routine, working her fingers through her hair in order to tie a neat braid.
Which, if Minerva were present to remark on the style, was yet another example of Artemis’ latent francophilia.

I bet Sephiroth's daughter wears her hair in pigtails as a child.
Yep, I can see it. Two long, sliver (Seph has strong genetics, okay?) pigtails, each one tied off with a pretty ribbon that sparkles in the sunlight... All styled by Sephiroth by himself. And if she wants more princess-like hairstyles, then Sephiroth is ready to give her the royal treatment, whether by braiding her hair into a crown plait or give her a braided chignon or any other style she wants. We just know his daughter will be in the best hands, as Sephiroth is an expert in hair care.
And I can totally imagine a happy ending domestic AU, where Sephiroth and Genesis often share their hair care knowledge with each other for their daughters, and with Angeal, who wasn't very good at styling his daughter's hair but still dedicates himself to the craft.
It would be so cute for them to bond over that with their daughters and each other. :3

All That Glitters…
Prologue
His gaze could be considered dark as he lift the glass to his lips and sipped on the hard liquor inside, the ice crinkling against the sides as he rocked it back and forth. From where he was sitting, he could make out the happy couple as they danced on the floor, their bodies loving in synchronization to the beat.
But he wasn’t looking at them; he wasn’t focused on the bride and groom. His attention had fallen to the bridesmaids, rather the woman behind the maid of honour with a chignon at the back of her head and diamond stud earrings in.
His attention was on the breathtaking and beautiful woman that had him in a complete and total spell, that had not only him transfixed and bewitched but his partner as well.
“All the single ladies! All the single ladies up to the front, it’s time for the bouquet toss!” The woman speaking into the microphone had addressed the crowd as women started going up to the front, and he was amused to see your beautiful body being pulled too.
“Don’t miss out, Y/N! Catch the bouquet and you’re next to be married!” The announcer had cheered into the microphone as you had picked up the hem of your green a-line dress in one hand and your heels in the other.
“You need to be in a relationship to be married!” One of the older bridesmaids had taken a dig at your expense, her words slurred from the red wine the glass she was holding onto.
She was standing by the bridal party table, swaying slightly as she raised the glass to her lips and sipped on the alcohol in her glass while raising her arm and dancing along to the beat.
She was eager to insult everyone around her however it was the insult that she had so eagerly thrown the dig at your state of singleness. The chance to reduce you to nothing but your lack of a relationship was seemingly fuelled by the ring on her left hand that was starting to turn green.
The insult angered him. The insult had boiled beneath his flesh with a distaste for the level of disrespect aimed at you. No one would speak to you in such a lowly manner if they had decided to take you, to make you theirs. No one would dare fuck with you when they had staked their claim.
“Y/N! Bridesmaid to the beautiful angel tonight is joining the crew of single women to catch the b bouquet!” The master of ceremonies had made a nod to the DJ and as the song ‘Single Ladies’ had started blasting from the speakers, he had studied you as you swayed your hips to the beat and lined up with the rest of the women.
Your bridesmaid dress was simple, deep emerald green and made from chiffon with a deep V neck that had accentuated the curve of your breasts. There was a braided tie around your waist that drew attention to your heavenly body, the softness of your curves and no doubt the sweetest ass and pussy hiding beneath the material.
“All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies, all the single ladies.”
He watched you with a bemused smirk as the bride entered the dance floor and took her place in front of the women waiting. Her dress draped around her as she mouthed the lyrics and gently swung the bouquet back and forth in her hands, teasing the women.
“Are you ready?” The MC called through the microphone to the sound of cheering from the crowd and the participating women, and as the bride had held up three fingers, the best carried on.
“All the single ladies, all the single ladies
All the single ladies
Now put your hands up.” The bride dropped her three fingers and then had swung the bouquet up over her head and then turned, watching to see who had caught it.
He too was interested and as the bouquet had been snatched by your left hand, his smirk had widened. He turned his head and glanced at his partner, the two partaking in a communicative exchange as the choice was undoubtedly made.
You were theirs, it was a matter of fate that you had caught the bouquet and their attention. It was a matter of fate that you had stirred something so visceral, animalistic and possessive within their very souls.
You were theirs.
“Next to be married! Congratulations!” The bride had pulled you into a tight hug, her eyes moving past you to where the two were hiding, eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“Andy,” Curtis’ lips twitched while he leaned toward and rest his elbows on his knees, “yes or no?”
“Yes,” Andy downed the rest of his drink before he slammed the glass on the table and clicked his tongue against his teeth, “she’s perfect. Let her have the weekend, then we’re getting ourselves a little wife.”

In customization, including facial hair could be fun as well.
As for hairstyles, depends on the culture of the kingdom but some ideas:
- I hate the name but hair snoods, renaissance (The Borgias TV show had some beautiful styles with these sorts of hairnets), and similarly the Juliet Cap (again, renaissance style). (another show with pretty hairstyles was Spartacus)
-Veils or cauls are always fancy and fun- especially if hair gets in the way of culturally perceived modesty
-Low buns, tight curls, feathered accents, flowers, bouffants, pinned and twisted plaits, chignon, crown dutch braids, with ribbons and pearl pins in cultures where hair is part of fashion and a way to showcase a persons status (poor people don't have time to put their hair in pretty curls, let alone keep them nice trying to survive)
-Maidens might get to wear their hair down, or half up/down when a bit older, where married women/older woman must pin it up and away (could be for men too- or perhaps it's to be cut when married and regrown idk)
-Beards and mustaches (could just be one or the other) also would be very important on style- which comes with like mustache and beard wax. How long a beard is allowed to be to be "proper" perhaps clean cut is a dandy like figure. Or beards are a sign you aren't taking care of yourself and its a sign of degeneracy and everybody is to be clean shaven besides impressive, fanciful mutton chops idk if any of this is what you were thinking, but is just a few ideas to toss around and see what sticks. Deciding what kind of culture or style the kingdom is could really help narrow down how to explain the fashions if that's important for the world- which I know I'd personally love to have included and explored especially as we get to play nobility so we get to be very extra and fanciful with it
Hello Anon!
Oooh thank you for all your great suggestions! I especially appreciate how detailed each of your bullet points are 😄 Once I have a long enough break, I'm definitely going to just sit down for a long while and go through all the helpful advice and tips I've received 😊
