@billmm1 With regard to our discussion on the taxonomy of breakup playlists, I think there is another category - you know that your partner has moved on, but they lack the courage to say so. Despite this, you're hanging on for various reasons - probably sex, which is however becoming a lukewarm version of what you once shared. Finally you let them know that you know it's over. I think the song below is a perfect example. Diana Ross's "Touch Me in the Morning" would also fit here.

I definitely think this category applies to an older generation of music, but I will have to investigate further...

Cat Rian’s single “Only Miss Some Of You” makes us want to put on pink cowboy boots and lay on the ground in the rain. Her vulnerable single comes off the back of a breakup and running into your ex after. Rian details moments that remind her of this ex, sharing the good times that she misses. But she also can’t forget about the bad times, hence why she misses only some of this person, not all of them. Her lyrics paint a clear picture of how this relationship develops and eventually crumbles. There’s a sense of sympathy in her song that we feel as the listener, but don’t be confused, she knows exactly what she deserves. The song’s style is very much country songwriter with an acoustic focus, and there’s a beautiful Southern accent in her voice that swoons the listener. Bring together the country with some hip-hop beats, and you have a unique sound that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
