If I had a nickel for every blond bitch who brought harm to their childhood friend*, fell from grace, felt guilty about their actions and grappled with low self-esteem, only to later on get forgiven by said childhood friend and started on their redemption arc...
I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice (in one episode too!)
Or: in which I can see the parallels between Bridget and Jonas and I find those parallels very interesting.
(*Idk why I remembered Anne and Jonas as being childhood friends, when she only stayed in his hometown 6 months when Emma was sick, lol)

At the end of episode 24, almost all the characters will urgently need to look for a psychologist.
Anne and Shall will develop post-traumatic syndrome at this moment.
Anne is locked up, God knows where, not knowing whether help will come or not, when there is literally a sect of fairies who are aggressive towards people. But the icing on the cake is a megalomaniac who constantly threatens Anne with death, with kidnapping her colleagues, and causing pain to her loved one.
Not only is Shall already traumatized, he learns that his closest relative is a sadistic sectarian. And his relative forcibly keeps Shall with him AND forces him to kill living creatures. I omit the moment with the threats, since everything is literally the same as with Ann.
Entire Page workshop is in the state of wives waiting for their husbands from the war. They hope that everything is fine with Anne and Shall. However, when you don’t receive at least a slightly good news for 3 weeks ( for a moment, there are at least 3 murders of free confectioners. Anne persuaded Cat to come in really right time), you begin to think about the worst.
Bridget is probably already freaking depressed: Orland and Elliot are hurt because of the fairy she brought; and now Ann is in mortal danger.
I don’t know how important Ann and Shall are to Earl Downing, but they are very important to Hugh. He knows that Anne is a weak small young girl. And he saw what the fairies had already done to the confectioners to take their sugar. Hugh needs to finding Anne, but by day 20 he had no clues on where or how to look for her.
This really... darkens the mood.
I hope he wasn't assigned to come to Page's workshop and tell them that they couldn't find Anne, because that would be mental torture for everyone.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale is a fairy tale, just a scary one.

Okay Bridget the way you're going about this is very wrong but I am feeling kinda bad for you rn I guess she has a lot of growing up to do. Challe's loyalty to Anne tho 🥰
I find the parallels between Anne and Bridget very interesting, makes for some tasty drama.

The Hidden Darkness of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and My Happy Marriage
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and My Happy Marriage are two of the newest and most popular romance animes of the year where it features amazing love stories that will capture your hearts and intriguing/mysterious adventures you'll want to watch until the very end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, though they are often displayed as being cute, there is a dark undertone to them as well.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale shows fairies being treated as slaves by humans with their wings plucked and very lives on the line while My Happy Marriage features the female protagonist struggling to deal with the scars left behind by her abusive family and uncovers new startling discoveries from her past.
Although the struggles are different, there is a darkness within each series that is further explored, showing Violence, Racism, Abuse, Manipulation, Torture (Physical or Psychological) and other dark elements altogether.

Goes to show, you should never judge a book by it's cover and even more so, it makes the animes all the more investing to watch.

Guilty Gear XX♯Reload Comic Anthology Translation: Try & Error
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a comic from the Guilty Gear XX Sharp Reload Comic Anthology, which I have been translating. The original scans of this comic are by @tillman and can be found on archive.org
I don’t have anything to link to here either and I didn’t notice any details like last time so uhh…this comic actually made me laugh for the sheer implication that Axl and Bridget are ready and willing to participate in a political assassination attempt. Also that actually, nobody could tell the difference between them, he was kicked out because Ky just wasn’t supposed to be there. Lots of silly implications in this one.
You can read the previous translation here
And the next translation here
Usual disclaimer: I am not fluent in Japanese and all of this is a one Fia job so everything might not be 100% accurate but I always try my best!

All this time, I was thinking "when would Anne finally get to Bridget? when will she affect and motivate her enough to want to change?", but in the end, I'm glad (and I find it frankly fitting) that it's the combination of both Anne's and Orland's kindness + being faced with the consequences of her actions that got to Bridget.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This moment is also the culmination of all the hints of the real Bridget we've seen sprinkled here and there: behind the selfishness and the haughtiness, under all the hurt and the frustration, there's a genuinely caring girl who doesn't want to see the people close to her (Elliot, Orland) hurt.
It also goes to show that the Bridget everyone saw was a Bridget of their own making: by restraining her, they taught her to use other, underhanded ways to get what she wanted (getting drunk, blackmailing Shall for his wing, making him do everything she wanted since she herself had to do everything others wanted, buying Gladice).
When left to her own devices and allowed to talk, the real Bridget comes out.
