Meeting someone that have been through similiar trauma and pain feels comforting. We can bond over this connection.
But its very diffrent when it comes to comforting. When the same now friend is also suffering and needs help. Sometimes the friend needs to vent their emotions out, they can hurt people around.
While understandable, because of their trauma/pain it doesn't mean its alright and can be forgivin' easily.
As someone who needs comfort and not pain. Even though we understand what the other has been through, it does not mean that we can heal each other.
Beacuse sometimes, we don't need a person that has the same trauma but person that understand us and can heal our soul and mind regardless of their own past.
So, do not feel guilty when you stay away from your friend, it will help both of you to find someone else that can truly comfort you.
