in that chunky episode where so much of the mystery became clear I honestly think the best part was Kristen's talk with Bucky. Kristen has been where he has. even telling him the alarm system that was instilled into her was wrong was such a moving and touching moment. In that moment I think we really see Ally see what Kristen would have been like had she not died in the corn cuties battle.

And further more we see what Kristen doesn't want for her brother. Kristen doesn't try to convert Bucky to Casandra but just lets him know there is more out there, there is more than what we were taught growing up. It's not something to be scared of or run away from, it's good to have these questions, and it's okay to not have answers to them. Kristen really sees what could have been with her in her brother. Kristen opening up that space between her and Bucky really shows him that no matter what he decides, she is going to be there for him, no matter what questions he may have, he can find comfort in them with her.

Telling Bucky that he can stay with Helio while wanting to ask questions further proves that Helio doesn't have to stay the way he is. He can be shaped, and if Bucky is having these thoughts, others are too. Kristen opened Bucky up to a deeper relationship with those around him and to Helio if he chooses to stay with him. Kristen proves yet again with this talk with Bucky that she is THAT cleric. St. Kristen Applebees is the kind, and loving person that Bucky and many others like him need.

I've actually got four siblings, but I was the middle child so I wasn't very good with that sort of stuff. My older brother and sister handled most of it, the rest of us just followed along. Usually getting someone out of the house worked pretty well, though. Try taking them somewhere they like going, and see if that helps.

i know it's not really how it works, voice wise, but. the concept that, maybe *just* to ashril, that vast and draeke sound similar. they sound alike, to her. maybe they don't talk the same way and their inflections are different and vast's voice is slightly deeper than his, but to ashril its a small enough difference that sometimes their brain doesn't clock it. sometimes vast says something and ashril's head shoots up because "hes supposed to be dead" only to realize it's vast and not their long dead brother. maybe when ashril thinks too long about it they realize they don't even remember what draeke's voice sounds like anymore. they don't remember it well, and that's why their brain keeps connecting it to vast's - because vast *feels* like he did. feels like a sibling they can banter with and argue and joke and all of that with. and their brain made that connection and now they can't *drop it.* (and oh now they're in the deep end because they don't remember his voice or his eyes or his hair - they remember his feathers and his wings and his love of the stars and his favorite color and his affinity for books but they don't remember *him* and it's slowly fading bit by agonizing bit.)

Welcome back to the NEXT EXCITING INSTALLMENT OOOOOF!!! Milo Confuses His Lefts and Rights So Bad He Fucking Dies.

I'm trying to follow The Rule. The 180 Rule I think it's called. The Avoid Spontaneously Teleporting Your Characters And Making Them Inexplicably Switch Places Rule. These are just key panels, again, bare minimum to see what angles/movements I'm making here

Okay. You see the Issue. I will show you some more

This is part of my first roughs for this panel/page. Let's unpick this.

1) Seemingly Correct Placement. Yippee!

2) Ran into the same issue written above, where the bodies are blocking MOST of the Most Significant THINGS. I CANNOT stress this enough. There's SYMBOLISM here, that is a Key Component to what you're supposed to fucking infer.

3) Scabbard is on the right side here and should be on the left. Which led me to make that scribbly Alfonse ref I posted earlier.

So I revise it. I was SO FUCKING PROUD OF THIS. Let's unpick it.

1) Eyes are drawn to The Focal Points. Alfonse, hand on his hip, resting on his sword (sheathed). It's a relaxed/at ease pose, so it doesn't Have to mind handedness too much.* Meanwhile, you see more of Moe's pose, staff slung over the shoulder. It's been holding the staff like this the whole time I imagine, just mostly out of frame during page 1.

2) The poses are MUCH clearer due to the placement. However. You are seeing the problem here.

3) THEY FUCKING TELEPORTED (OR MAYBE I'M STILL CONFUSED???? IT IS POSSIBLE.)

*I guess one thought that's occurring to me is maybe the same "don't mind the handedness at rest" approach could apply here??? Edit for Moe here to clarify

This isn't even factoring in whatever the fuck is happening on page 3, but I do think it's fucked. Like, just from my brief overview/take my word for it, I think they are on the Correct sides on page 3. Which may make the Switch/Teleporting more egregious.

So like. Where do I even go from here. Please for the love of god help me.
