International Women's Day '22: BrownGirlGang x tikabells

Collaborated with BrownGirlGang (BGG) for their International Women’s Day campaign in 2022. Along with artists around the world I created this piece to #breakthebias and showcare what the world would look like with more brown girl CEOs.

Last year 2% of companies that were founded by women received funding and women of colour received just a tiny fraction of this. Less than % out of a $200 billion dollar industry. This art series shows what it could look like if more brown girls were CEOs because representation matters, as it's hard to be what you cant see.

My work creates a fictional woman girl boss in STEM. With her you'll find decor and design inspired by some of my favourite South Asian CEO's and trailblazers:

As 2017 comes to an end i just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past 25 years of my life and say thank you. This video is from part 1 of my official photo shoot because I wanted to appreciate the different blessing in my life. I am so thankful to have you in my life. Without these people (only a few were able to make it out to this shoot) in my life I wouldn’t be the girl with a whole lot of crazy ideas. Without the love I have received from everyone I wouldn’t be able to continue to work hard on my goals. You have pushed me to work hard and supported me when times got hard. You have taught me so much about life and have encouraged me to be myself. I am an immigrant and have moved around so much in the past. I haven’t lived in a single city for more than 5 years and I didn’t grow up like a typical girl... if it wasn’t for the love i received from different people at different stages I wouldn’t be here happy and smiling. Especially this past year, oh what an emotional roller coaster I have been on and still seem to be on. In collaboration with BrownGirlGang (BGG) for their annual International Women’s Day campaign in 2021. The brief was to reimagine Parvati & Padma Patil. "We are no longer the side characters, we are the moment at the Yule Ball so let's show the world how multifaceted and magical South Asian women truly are."

The piece was acknowledged by actress Afshan Azad-Kazi who played one of the Patil sisters in the iconic Harry Potter films!
