you're walking home with one of best friends, ellie, after a day at the park. it was a boring and oppressively hot day. you had bought yourselves ice lollies to help survive the sultry weather.

"is it good?" ellie speaks, pointing to your yellow popsicle.

"yeah, ellie, it's good." you say, matter-of-factly.

"i love pineapple." she looks away from you as you come closer to the crossing, both you looking to the sides of the road in sync.

“i know, me too." you reply shortly, not giving her the time of day, rapidly crossing the street. ellie stays silent, but not for too long.

"well..." she mutters when she catches your trail.

"yes?" you know what she wants but you still play dumb. you're not gonna give it to her.

“just a taste—" she starts whining, and you cut her off.

“nope." that's all you say in response.

you turn the stick horizontally as you get to the middle of the ice lolly, you suck on it and she's snorts heavily. she seems to drag her feet along the sidewalk.

“please, it's so hot out here.” ellie insists on the subject.

"it’s not my fault you fucking gobbled yours." you giggle, flicking her forehead.

she lets out a cartoon-like ‘ouch’ and she pushes your arm.

"bruh, it was small." ellie complains before wiping sweat off her nape, where strands of hair stuck onto.

“doooon't caaaare.” you smirk.

you bite the ice off the stick and she looks like she's mourning its loss. ellie loves pineapple artificial flavoring, despite choosing not to eat too much actual pineapple because when you two ate a bunch of pineapple slices together, you ended up with prickled tongues and mouth ulcers. it wasn't fun.

you can read her expression well enough to let out a chuckle, almost choking on the juice that pools inside your mouth. she clicks her tongue at the sound of slurping coming from you, she focuses on the noise of lawn mowers on your neighborhood instead, but they're just as annoying.

"ellie." you mutter with a heavy breath, she can hear what remains on your tongue moving. she hums in response.

you know ellie's annoyed. you were friends, but you were afraid that you had spoiled her. whenever you denied her anything, she'd catch an attitude. and you liked teasing her. you thought she looked cute when she'd look away from you with a serious face over something so small as a popsicle.

“lukami.” you say, he contorts her face in confusion, and you slurp at the juices to clear your words.

“look at me." you repeat, now coherently, grabbing her cheeks.

“yeah? what do you want?" she looks at you, and you take a disgustingly loud and final slurp.

ellie knows the pineapple stick is gone now, and she didn't even get to taste it. she pictured herself tasting it off your lips, or even your tongue. she wondered if she'd able to feel the refreshment if she sucked on your tongue after all the sucking you did on that popsicle.

“guess what?” you smile, she takes a little too long to answer and you wonder what goes through her mind.

but well, she's nasty, isn't she? she wanted it, no matter if it meant licking around one of her best friend's mouth. she's upset, but she knows it's silly.

“what?” she shrugs.

"i have popsicles at home.” you say excitedly and you look giddy, your sugary fingers still on her face.

“whatever," she looked away, forcing away from your hold. "get those sticky fingers away from me."

"that's a great album, by the way." you ignore her demand, chuckling.

you mess with her cheeks, smearing her with the syrup on your hand. you left a spot on her lips, she licked it. finally, she knows what it tasted like and she yearns for more.

“you're so messy, ya know?" she smiles wide.

you look at your hand as she grabs and holds it where it was, against her lips. you stop on your tracks completely, feeling her tongue stick out of her lips and coming in contact with the pad of your fingers, it tickles. you giggle.

she hums at the sweetness of it and looks up at you from your fingers, what a kid!

"ellie, please, what's wrong with you?" you laugh, and she does too. sugar puts her in a good mood.

“should've just let me taste it.” she speaks.

you would've thought she was done but ellie takes your index finger inside her mouth for shits and giggles, her warm as the day tongue massaging your finger as she sucks on it.

“you're so stupid.” you say, using minimal to no strength to push her face with the hand she entrapped. she smiles around your finger.

you feel the desire to slide your finger further into her mouth to wipe that shit-eating grin of her face. you imagined how ellie would look when she gagged on it, the shock in her eyes would be amusing, you assume. these thoughts run around your mind.

you think she might have an oral fixation by the looks of it,you look around, making sure no one was watching this seemingly obscenity.

"god, ellie.." you sigh in defeat when she flutters her eyes shut. you watch, mind running around her soft features and braking on her pursed lips, tainted red from her late watermelon popsicle.

then she releases your finger, after god knows how long (now that your fingerprint is practically part of her tongue’s muscle memory). you snap back to reality, freshly cut grass smell hitting your nose and unbearable sun hitting your skin.

ellie looks proud of herself.

"it really was good. what flavors you got at home?" she asks and starts walking again. you clean your now spit dirty fingers on your shirt and walk with her, enumerating the flavors of popsicles your dad had bought and stacked in the freezer.

honestly this is a great statement about who stray kids is and how far they’ve come. now hear me out.

they kind of show a little bit of everything that makes up their genre so to speak. noise music, hard bass, charming little quirky parts, not even mentioning the fun choreo and footwork that they’re known for. 

it showed that they’re here and that they aren’t changing their brand any time soon.

the whistle to start it off is so iconic honestly 

the pre hook yet again is my favorite and the ending section of the chorus with all the footwork :D

the pre hook is both gentle and hype-building

also that endless bass in the hook is so nice it’s low and tickles my ear just right

honestly i’m not always for big flashy mvs but i know that’s kind the era of kpop mvs rn but skz never really bothers me with their mvs even if there’s a lot going on LOL (like the soldiers, the octo monster, the horse, the fire, just for examples) oh and i won with all the chris shots LOL anyways

i really like the choreo it’s really playful and like they said it’s like a “playful annoying” HAHA it really comes off as these annoying kids having fun without a care. my favorite part of the choreo is the hook and the start of verse 2 i love the switch up so much it’s not even funny. 

also the part where minho and chris get to be center with the footwork that’s such a nice moment!

i loved all the scenes on the boat fr fr that’s so cool! i also loved the camera work yet again their mvs always have such nice camerawork and editing <3333333 i love how they yet again did everything that tends to “bother” people. adding a lot of things to their videos and making them wild just like making their music noisy HAHA 

i also really liked the minchanjeong shot for the bridge it’s so good. that and seungmin’s shot at the end of the bridge too! hyun showing up in the fire for hook 2 was also so nice! ugh i could talk about the whole mv tbh LOL

final thoughts ;

wow overall this comeback is hard-hitting and there’s so much to take in!! there’s literally way too much to deal with you can’t process it all on one listen or watch. you need like ten LOL i’m in love with this cb tbh after listening to the album and the songs and seeing the mv like 4-5 times (this will go up later lol) i’m really happy and pleased with this cb!! overall it’s quite literally 5 stars HAHA <3333 thanks for reading if you made it this far *bows* i’m out to vibe to the album and watch the fan chant (we got 4 parts of chris in s-class can i get an amen)

Hey, so here’s my lil’ mini review of EXO's 7th album Exist after listening to the whole thing twice:

Cream Soda: So, I already heard the song from watching the mv, and it's really nice! Love the harmonies, the addictive chorus ("I need all yaaa cream soda~") and overall beat. They all sound great on this one bruh--it's a great title track~

Regret It: Yessssss, I love when EXO goes full on hip-hop with their b-sides. And whenever I hear that Incominnnng! signifying Dem Jointz's producer tag, I always get hype 'cause I know there's gonna be a nice-ass beat with nice melodies intertwined~ This is like Cloud 9's sister song and I love that song too. Seriously, they all sound so pretty on this and the beat is so nice!! Gonna be on repeat for sure!! <3

Hear Me Out: So, I heard this one from the mv first ofc and I also dig this one a lot too. When I first heard it, I immediately fell in love with how smooth it is~ The chorus is once again catchy, and it's already been on repeat since it came out hehe.

Private Party: Noooo, just from the first like 5 seconds, I had to replay this 'cause I just knew this song would fuck me up lol (in the best way) TvT. I still can't believe they had KS and JI start the song à la Playboy with those hums and Yeah's and Babe's (or might've been BH instead of KS--they sound alike bruh lol). Anyways, after replaying those first 10 seconds over and over again, I actually listened to the song and got so hyped from the beat switch-up lol. This song is a cunty summer song for sure and I love it~! Felt kinda short tho but maybe I just felt like that 'cause I absolutely loved this one hehe.

Cinderella: …Somehow the vocals almost seem off compared to the beat (and like not in a good way)? The hard pounding beat for the chorus threw me off too at first so hm…after listening to this one twice I can def say I just don't care for the beginning of the song. When the 2nd chorus came around, I started vibing, then the bridge hit and I was like ehhh 'til the end of it when they did those stacked harmonies and it brought me back. And the switch-up for the beat for the last chorus was nice but yeah, half the song I don't care for while half I did dig. It's a shorter song for a reason imo and I may be biased 'cause I think it's just okay but I wish it was towards the end of the album XD.

No Makeup: Ooh, this song's really nice and smooth too~ I'm surprised they didn't put this right before or after Hear Me Out to match its vibe. Anyways, the chorus is like melting chocolate omg they sound so pretty and I looove that La-da-da-da da-da-daaa~ part! I had to replay it 'cause wow they really just sound so good together like they always have but they especially do in slower songs like this! Seriously, I really dig this~!

Love Fool: This is a nice song too, not much to say about it. Like they all have stand-out lines in it, and the beat's nice but compared to the fire tracks at the start--it's more on the good not great end for me. (Watch though, this'll prob be on heavy rotation on my playlist in like a week lol.)

Another Day: Ooh, I like this synth vibe/distorted effect on the beat! Not much to say for this one either but it's a vibe for sure and my fave parts were anytime Jongin sang (honestly, his voice was a standout in this album for me, but I'm biased lol) and Kyungsoo's adlibs that closed the song off.

Let Me In: So, once again I heard this from the mv first lol. It's a good song, and a perfect one to the end the album with imo. Only thing I didn't like in this song were the raps, like they just don't fit to me. Anyways, fave parts in this are for sure the chorus where they go "'Cause it's blue~" and that bridge <3.

And so my favs from this album in order are (and this was really hard to decide!): Private Party, Regret It, No Makeup, Hear Me Out, Cream Soda, Love Fool, Another Day, Let Me In >>>>>>>[a wall], Cinderella.

TL;DR: So yeah, this is another solid album from them for sure! It's full of their beautiful vocals and harmonies, and nice-ass raps too (besides the ones in Let Me In, sorry not sorry). I highly recommend listening to this bruh for a fun time, going from hype to body-rolling to chill vibes hehe. And I'm always looking forward to what they'll do next! <333

I fell in love with this album circa 2016, and overplayed it so much that I lost interest but now it’s come back around to nostalgia??

My favorite lines:

Twilight did this. We allllllllll know Twilight did this. I’ve had unrealistic standards for romance ever since Twilight entered my life in the 6th grade. I bit a kid once.

Eric Church wrote this song about North Carolina. Well, I’m a South Carolina girl so… and secretly the biggest hick. 👀 Honestly, this song puts me at ease and helps me reconnect with my roots when I’m feeling too far up in the clouds.

I’ve got two favorite sets of lines from this song:

“Sometimes I grow weary From going' all the time I love to take a minute Let you ease my mind I'd love to see my mama Maybe go for a drive But I got to play the star in some little town again tonight Don't get me wrong I love what I do It's just another song about missing you”

And, then, of course the chorus:

“Easier Than Lying”

I loved that this song came up on shuffle. After my ex died, I had to come to terms with how bad the relationship was and honestly Halsey came out with this banger album full of rage and hurt and anger and realizations about the world. It really gave me clarity.

Especially because of this line,

“I sleep with one eye open and one eye closed 'Cause I'll hang myself if you give me rope I lost all my faith and lost all hope That everything means anything at all One eye broken and one eye bruised 'Cause I gave myself away for you You liar, you don't love me too It's easy for you after all Losing you is easier than Lying to myself that you love me.”

“Peppers” by Lana Del Rey

This is a new song on my playlist largely due to TikTok, but I was thinking about some bad past behavior and feeling a little shame for it and I heard the lyrics to this song and it settled the religious guilt/trauma.

This song comes from The Vampire Diaries soundtrack. I don’t know what episode, but probably one horribly devastating where Damon is the sassy King that he is.

But I’ve probably cried to this song seven times in my life.

Wherever you stand with Demi, she has a beautiful voice. I personally think she’s been through more than a person should ever have to and that she’s reacting to her trauma and the media needs to stay off her back…but I digress.

Additionally, if you’re not following NOAH CYRUS please do. Her voice is lovely and her music is heart-wrenching.

i'm gonna be honest with y'all i've always been a frerard/srs truther BUT BUT BUT i think there's a really important distinction to be made about that. I think something happened, and i think it was a lot more messy and complicated then anyone could ever assume, do i think every last detail of how they interact/interacted has to do with it? fuck no. Do i think they've written songs about each other? yeah sure, there would be a few that wouldn't surprise me. Do i think there are entire albums devoted to each other? fuck no. they are people that I do not know, and i don't know and never will know what -if anything- ever happened between them. They are complicated, multifaceted people that i will never know through any other lens than the skewed lens of the media and what (and how) content is being present to me. These are two people who have created my favorite works of music, why would i ever do the disservice of boiling everything they've done down to something that- at the end of the day- will never be more then speculation. What they did in service of the anti homophobia message was activism, I could never dismiss that into something so arbitrary. Do i think there was an ease and intensity to it that was questionable? Sure, but it's part of a bigger picture. Frank and Gerard have seen trauma in their lifetime. Frank suffers from chronic pain and illness, Gerard has always been battling mental illness, if in this day and age some of y'all still try and pin everything they do to frerard y'all are missing the bigger picture. And even worse is the people who still bother them about it. bruh i would love to know as much as the next person but my god how could you ever feel good about it. Do you realize if they ever were to address it that's all the band would be about after that? like everything they do would be blemished with the rabidness of how the fan base would react to that? There's a good reason it's never been addressed, im sure they would both love to never get asked about it ever again, but they haven't addressed it so just please like leave it alone. These are supposed to be people you love and respect so allow them privacy and honour their life's work which has been so much more important than whatever did or didn't happen between them. it is possible to be a frerard truther and respectful so like just do that instead please for the love of god
