Previously on baby (you complete us):
“Thank you for doing this, Noona! We will tag you when it gets posted!” Yeonjun exclaims once you were done filming in front of one of the portraits outside of the café.
“Thank you! It was fun. I could really go for a drink now though!” You laugh as the boys agree with your statement, Taehyun and Soobin pulling your arms and dragging you into the café.
The café was one of the things you didn’t get to see on your tour with Songun, given it wasn’t near the meeting room you met the boys in. You were still shocked when you walked in and realized the café was more like a cafeteria, with many different food options, vendors, and drink options galore. You were awestruck, ignoring the laughter coming from the boys as they dragged you to the smaller coffee vendor.
“What drink would you like, Noona?” Taehyun asked you as he began looking over the options. You looked over the menu but didn’t see anything you recognized so you just told him to pick something out for you.
His eyes grew wide in excitement, animatedly looking over the coffee options as you turned around, looking for a seat nearby. Your knee was giving you trouble as you could feel it shifting with every step you took, and you needed to massage it soon before it inevitably popped out.
You didn’t want to embarrass yourself in front of your new friends, and a sure-fire way to do that was to have your body work against you. You couldn’t stand the looks you would get whenever you had to pop something back in or massage your body to counteract the pain you felt in your joints.
You moved to the counter to pay, only after receiving a weird look from the barista did you realize you forgot you didn’t have to pay for anything. You nod your head awkwardly, not waiting for the boys as you moved to the closest seat and began massaging the muscles around your knee cap. You couldn’t stand up any longer or you knew your kneecap would pop out.
You sit down slowly, with care, and place your drink on the table before bending down a little to massage the muscle to the side of your knee cap. It was a long-practiced massage, something your specialist recommended to you when you were in school and always on the move. You were regretting not bringing your cane with you today, thinking you wouldn’t need it.
You always did this to yourself. You had a good day yesterday, so you thought you would have one today. But of course, why would you have two good days in a row?
“Are you okay, Noona?” Taehyun had come up to you, noticing you had disappeared from next to him.  He was concerned that you were hurt, seeing you rub at your knee. The entire building knew about your disability, a few concerned words overheard by one of the staff after walking past Jin and Sejin had spread to everyone within the span of an hour.
Your head shot up at Taehyun’s question, not realizing he was standing in front of you.
“Y-Yes, I’m okay.” You nod your head as you speak, trying to reassure him you were fine, but failing to do so as your stutter gives you away. You try to play it off as you forgot the word for yes, but he just shook his head.
“Do we need to go get hyungs?” Taehyun asks just as the others walk over.
“Go get hyungs for what?” Beomgyu questions Taehyun before seeing you and the way you were practically cradling your knee. “Ahhhhhh.” He nods his head in understanding.
“Do you need us to go get the hyungs?” Heuning Kai ask you softly, leaning over so he was almost whispering in your ear. You appreciate the sentiment, but it seems people were beginning to look your direction anyway.
You look around shyly, not wanting everyone to know what was going on.
“Everyone is curious about BTS hyungs’ soulmate.” Yeonjun states, seeing the way you were looking around. “The announcement was pretty big, especially after the one they put out about trying to find you.” You let out a sigh at his words, understanding what was going on but that didn’t mean you necessarily felt comfortable with all the looks.
“Why don’t we take you back to Hyungs? They should be having a break right now…” Yeonjun trailed off as he looked at his phone.
“Okay.” You stood up slowly, testing your weight on your knee, hiding your wince at the sharp pain.
“Oh! I promised them I would bring them something back from the café!” You make for the counter again but hands gently push you back into your seat.
“Rest, noona. We will go get hyung’s favorites!”
-*-*-
And grab their favorites they did. Not only did they arrive back to the table with three drink carriers and two paper bags filled with pastries, but they insisted to helping you to bring everything back to the practice room, Soobin even assisting you in walking once he realized you were favoring your leg.
“You better put your arm back by your side, Soobin!” You chastis for the third time, seeing him bring his arm back out to try and carry you. He kept insisting that he didn’t want you walking on your leg and that he should carry you back to the room, but, of course, you insisted the opposite. You weren’t fragile and didn’t need to be carried anywhere.
“Hyung, will you get the door please!” Beomgyu and Taehyun plead out, trying to not have the drink carriers fall as they make it to the door. Soobin looks at you again, before moving over to the door of the boys’ practice room, music still blasting from the speakers. You recognized the song this time as the chorus to Idol plays. As the door opens you begin to limp over to Yeonjun who holds one of the pastry bags and a drink carrier.
“Here, give me one.” You hold your hand out, but he shakes his head.
“Noona, you’re hurt. It’s okay.” He steps back, moving towards the open door but you just follow him.
“I’m fine though! I promise. I just want to help.” You insist again, stepping into the room and still reaching for the pastry bag.
“Noona you’re hurt. You don’t need to be carrying anything.” Yeonjun is stubborn, you’ll give him that, but unfortunately, someone overhears his words. Footsteps come pounding towards you and Soobin and suddenly you are picked up, your chest pressed against theirs and your thighs tossed around their hips.
“Jungkook, I’m fine!” You whine as soon as you realize who picked you up, his scent making you feel calm despite your embarrassment. You slumped in his arms, trying to hide yourself in his sweatshirt hood as he walked away from the younger boys.
“What happened?” You hear Namjoon ask Heuning Kai as he was closest to the leader.
“Y/n Noona hurt her knee at the cafe.” Was his simple reply, not exactly knowing what happened to your knee.
Jungkook carried you over to the seat you were sitting in before, and proceeded to kneel in front of you and holding your leg up so he could look over your knee. He instantly became a “doctor” prodding and running his fingers over the expanse of your knee, trying to feel for anything out of the normal.
Yoongi and Taehyung also came over, leaning over Jungkook and looking at your knee, the three men ignoring your attempts to push them away. You were bordering the line between feeling embarrassed and humiliated and it had your cheeks red and eyes blurring with tears.
“Please stop. I’m fine.” You repeated, trying to get their hands off of you. You didn’t care that they were your soulmates at this moment, you just wanted to go back to your hotel.
“Please stop touching me. I’m okay.” You tried to push Jungkook’s hands away, but he was more focused on your knee, even though his touch wasn’t helping in the slightest. You could tell that the others could hear you, Jimin and Namjoon glancing your way and Hoseok trying to get the focus of everyone off of you by asking the boys what they had brought.
You felt like you were in school again, getting made fun of for your knee dislocating in gym class. You hated everyone watching you, trying to see if you were faking or not, ignoring the pain and tears rolling down your cheeks as your gym teacher stresses over your disfigured knee, wondering if she should call and ambulance.
The insults “attention whore” and “lazy” running through your mind from when you were younger as everyone in the room continues to look at you now, Namjoon and Jimin beginning to walk your way as Jin says his thanks to the boys. One final prod of your knee from Yoongi has you snapping, pushing them away from you and pulling your knee to yourself.
“I asked you to please stop touching me.” You push out, trying to stop the tears already flowing down your cheeks. You were even more embarrassed now, crying in front of them. You hated how emotional you get, especially when you get stuck in your head with your past.
“Baby, I—” You cut off Yoongi, his face shocked at your actions.
“I think I would like to go back to my hotel now.” You whispered, withdrawn, and looking down at your lap. You felt a tug in your chest as Jungkook moved closer, trying to get you to look at him.
“Baby, We’re sorry. We just wanted to make sure you were alright.”
“We got worried when we heard Soobinnie say you were hurt. Our instincts took over.” Taehyung finished Jungkook’s thought. Namjoon tried not to interrupt, but he knew he had to.
“Our instincts don’t make us ignore the words of our mate, though. We all heard her ask you not to touch her.” Namjoon scolded the three, even Yoongi looking down in guilt.
“We are all so sorry, Y/n. We should have listened to you; there is no excuse.” Yoongi spoke up, his eyes piercing your own as he spoke.
Jimin, Jin, and Hoseok stood a couple feet away, watching as you close in on yourself. Jimin couldn’t believe how everything changed so quickly. They were making such good progress with you, their bond with you was growing and solidifying and now, he was only hoping you didn’t change hotels and block their numbers.
“Honey, please stay. I know that you want your alone time, but you just entered the next stage of the bond with Jungkook. It will hurt both of you if you are alone for two long now. At least, until we all have completed the bond.” Namjoon explains. “Besides that, I don’t think you really want to be alone right now.” His town turning in on her.
And he was right. The first stage of the bond had just solidified with Jungkook the night before. You knew what would happen if you were apart for long. You also knew you didn’t want to be alone. You hated that he was right about that.
All you wanted was to be comforted, to be wrapped in their arms and told that everything was okay. You’ve never felt like that before. Usually you want to be alone, lying in bed and wrapped under the covers, completely hidden from view.
Now, all you wanted was to be comforted by your soulmates.
One look from you was all it took for Jungkook to lift you off the chair and into his arms, sitting himself down and holding you in his lap. The tug in your chest finally settling, the embarrassment and insecurity slowly ebbing away the longer he held you to him.
Once the others started moving away, Jungkook having motioned to them while you weren’t paying attention, he began to comb his fingers through your hair, massaging your scalp as he did so. He knew it helped soothe your mind and calm your body.
“I am so sorry, baby. I need to open my ears and become more aware even with my instincts screaming at me.” He squeezed you a little tighter. “Please don’t be mad at me. Please don’t leave.” You could truly hear the fear behind his words, thinking you would leave them.
Jungkook had really thought he messed up everything. He thought you were going to reject them now; he was so sure about it. He tried not to imagine the pain the others would feel at your absence, and only hoped he could fix things between you.
“I may not…understand the bond like you do.” You started, still trying to find your words. “But I wouldn’t reject you all over something as small as this.” Almost immediately Jungkook began to protest.
“It’s not ‘something small’ if it makes you cry.” He adjusted you on his lap so you were now facing him. “We are all still getting to know each other, still growing the bond our souls have. I can understand if you don’t want to talk about it now, but I would like to know what made you cry so I can fix it.” He brings his palm up to your cheek, cupping it. “I hate seeing you cry. It makes me want to fight who or whatever it is that made those precious tears fall.”
You look down again, trying to decide if you had enough courage to tell him the real reason behind your tears, or a slimmed down version of your feelings.
“I uhm, was embarrassed.” You decide to tell him, to try and explain what was going through your head.
“When I was younger, before the doctors had figured out what was wrong with me, I was just known as “clumsy” and “lazy” by everyone. No one ever taking my pain or injuries seriously. Even doctors just told me it was my weight, despite being healthy. I was told I was just looking for attention.” You tried blinking away your tears, feeling them begin to pool on your waterline.
“It got really bad when physical education became a class in middle school and high school. I hadn’t received a diagnosis yet which meant I had to push my limits for a grade. One day…” You pause, swallowing down the choking sob so you could talk.
“We were supposed to be running the mile for our fitness test. I was in eighth grade and barely lasted one lap before my knee dislocated. It wasn’t the first time any of my joints fully dislocated, but it hurt all the same.” You began to explain the memory you flashed back to. You couldn’t help but grip his shirt tighter, your body full of anxiety.
Jungkook almost wants to tell you to stop. That he doesn’t need to know, not if it makes your heart hurt, or if you are pushing yourself to open up to him. That was the last thing he wanted to do, to push you into anything.
“I remember falling to the ground, my knee in excruciating pain. I hadn’t gotten used to the feeling yet, but I didn’t want to have everyone looking at me and wondering “What did she do now?” like I did this on purpose. I didn’t want anyone’s attention and I remember swearing to myself that I would finish the mile. So, I moved to put my knee back into place but the teacher had already seen me on the floor.” You grimace, remembering vividly how she ran up to you.
“Her voice seemed to be attached to a microphone as she yelled across the field, telling me not to touch my knee and asking if I was okay. She made a huge deal about it, sitting next to me and trying to figure out if she should call an ambulance. She even got another teacher involved.” Jungkook was confused, wanting to know what you meant by making a big deal out of the situation.
“I had spent months already putting my knee back into place and with everyone looking at me I just remember starting to cry, pushing my teacher away. Everyone’s stares on me, the whispers I could hear and the laughter coming from some of my classmates had me feeling humiliated. I felt even worse when my teacher did call an ambulance.” You whispered the last sentence, unable to stop the tears from slowly falling down your cheek.
Jungkook now understood everything, with the help of some of the Soul Bracelet messages he remembered reading. (read: that he continues to read every night so he doesn’t forget anything)  He recalled reading multiple messages where you vented about growing up hearing that you needed to stop “attention seeking” and that you were faking your injuries, with classmates making fun of you, and no one believing you, that day was just a culmination of everything at once. Your dislike of attention and being the center of it, especially when injured, now made complete sense.
He couldn’t help it, cupping your cheek and tilting your head up so he could see you. The feeling of your wet skin under his thumb as he wiped away your tears was something he didn’t want to feel again under the circumstances. Placing a soft and slow kiss to your lips, trying to push through his feelings of love and admiration for you, he held you close, closer than he already was.
He knew he would tell the boys this later on, somehow, but for now, you needed him.
“I am so sorry, baby. For everything. I will do my absolute best to stop that from happening again now that I know.” Jungkook kissed your mouth again, a chaste kiss that had your lips tingling. You don’t think you will get used to that, ever.
-*-*-
You were able to be held by Jungkook only for a little bit longer, seeing as they did have things to do today. But after receiving his hoodie again, you were happily snuggled into it eating your forgotten watermelon cup from earlier. You had borrowed Namjoon’s headphones, after repeatedly asking if he was sure, and watched TikToks on your phone.
You don’t know how long has passed before Taehyung is placing kisses to your face in a quick attack to steal your attention. A squeal escapes your lips as the headphones fall off your head and another set of kisses is aimed.
“Oh baby! We’re all finished which means kisses!” Taehyung sings, making you laugh at the reminder.  But before he can give your face even more kisses, he is pulled away by Jin.
“Hi, baby. We have some recording to do in the studio, but after that we were hoping to take you to dinner. Then maybe some movies at our place?” Jin smiled at you, seemingly nonchalant but on the inside, he was freaking out. His eyes showed the hope he had for the evening, showed his desire to just get to know you more and spend time with you.
To you, it sounded nice. Just a simple night with all seven of them. It’s not something you’ve had the chance to experience yet. You make the first move this time, moving forward and putting your lips on his plump ones, shocking the man. Jin was in heaven at the feeling of your lips on his and he almost cried when the kiss was over, your big smile aimed at him ones he opened his eyes again.
“That sounds nice, Jinnie.” You verbally respond to his words, making the others silently cheer at your acceptance.
You move to snuggle back into the couch, only for Jin’s hand to move into your line of vision, his palm up and ready for you to take. You look up at him, confusion written on your face.
“You didn’t think we were going to leave you here, did you?” Jin’s tone was teasing but held a real question, wondering if he didn’t make the plans obvious enough.
You did actually think the plan was for you to stay in the practice room. You didn’t know what rooms you had access to yet, despite the boys saying you had access to everything they did. You didn’t know if they were just saying that or not.
“Oh uhm, okay.” You didn’t answer his question, but the blush of embarrassment on your cheeks did. But Jin, nor the others, said anything about it. They knew the relationship between you all was still so new, so innocent that they didn’t want anything to go wrong, not like the incident earlier.
You took his hand and he helped you up off the couch, not letting go of your hand as he led you out the doors and through the building until you reached the studio he was talking about.
On the way to the studio, you walked by numerous staff members but your eyes stuck on the trainees who passed by as well. There were a couple groups of them, probably going from class to class, you thought. They bowed to your group a couple of times, some of them even stopping to bow a full ninety degrees. It was weird seeing it, but you knew it was a show of respect for the boys.
Jin was first up to do his thing in the studio, your eyes barely catching the soft wink he sends you as he gives your hand a small squeeze before letting go and moving into the booth as your vision swept over the recording studio. There were buttons and keys of all kinds and you were curious and wanted to push every single one, needing to know what each button did.
Hoseok caught your eye and put his hand on your lower back, moving you to sit in the producer’s chair and he knelt by your side. He knew it would take some time for Jin to get himself ready in the booth, so he took the time to indulge your curiosity.
The others watched on as Hobi spoke animatedly about the digital audio workstation, pressing buttons and telling Jin to speak into the microphone to show what each button did. Hobi loved the way your eyes lit up when a particular button made Jin sound like a chipmunk. He loved the sparkle in your eye and the fascination with the workstation. He couldn’t help but imagine you and him in the studio one day, making a song together.
When Jin was ready, Hobi let you stay in the chair, telling you what buttons to push while he instructed the room. Hobi, along with Namjoon and Yoongi, were in full producer mode now, but still held patience as you pushed the buttons and used the workstation.
As each member went into the booth, Hobi would let you know how to save the audio and would give you the biggest smile and praise you for your work and help.
“You could be our producer!” He smiled so wide that you ended up blushing under his praise. You felt like a little kid, wanting to do anything to make Hobi smile and praise you again.
“No, no. I’m just pushing the buttons.” You tried to play it off but he just shook his head, shaking his finger at you.
“Nope! You are now our producer.” He stated it with such conviction that you had to look away from him, not wanting him to see you blush, your cheeks surely lobster red by now.
Once the boys were done, two hours or so had passed. Hobi explained to you that they just needed to record some adlibs for their final song for the album, and that it would be quick. Having seen some “Bangtan Bombs” where the boys were in the studio, you could only guess they were normally here for hours and hours a day.
You had been so relaxed and at ease that you didn’t even realize Hobi had slipped his hand in yours, intertwining your hands together so he could hold it. It took him helping you out of the chair for you to notice. You didn’t realize how easy it was to feel comfortable with Hobi, to feel like you had known him forever.
Being with Hobi was easy and simple. Effortless.
It was like you could go to him for anything and you knew he would just smile and listen to you. It also helped that he had a penchant for squeezing your hand in reassurance, as if speaking to you in morse code. He just smiles softly at you and hums under his breath. His actions speak louder than his words, the silence filled with so much that you don’t even notice the silence when you’re with him.
As you all move to the big SUV to go to the restaurant the boys rented out, you pull Hobi so sit next to you, feeling the same way you did with Jungkook the previous day. You wanted to see who he was beyond the cameras of Bangtan that you got to know him from. You had a sweet smile on your face, giving his hand a gentle squeeze as you laid your head on his shoulders, smiling softly, wanting to stay in this moment for a little longer.
The car ride was filled with music and lots of talking; Taehyung asking what the name of the restaurant was, Namjoon asking what kinds of movies we all wanted to watch that night, Jungkook asking what snacks we were going to have, all while you and Hobi just talked. You asked him about his family and he asked about yours.
You already knew about his older sister, and he somewhat knew about your siblings, but he
still listened attentively as you talked about your family.
“My older sister is protective and was the one to help me get my diagnosis after my mom passed. She went to every appointment with me and made sure I was eating and drinking. She actually made a joke at one point that you all would be my soulmates, and after I got off the phone with you the first time, I immediately called her.” Hobi smiled as he listened, glad to know that you had someone there for you when they couldn’t be. It hurt to know you suffered through so much in such a short time frame.
He rubbed his thumb across the top of your hand, trying to soothe you as he noticed your voice shaking a little.
“My brother, on the other hand, is also protective, but like the stereotypical older brother way. He is the only other one of us who has met his soulmate. Lena is super sweet and they met in middle school. She’s like an older sister to me.” At some point, everyone else in the car had stopped their conversations to listen to you. They wanted to know everything they could, and they loved knowing you had a supportive family by your side.
When you got to the restaurant, you ended up sitting in between Hobi and Jungkook at the large booth. Jin took control of ordering the food, while Hobi and Jungkook whispered to you what Jin was ordering so you knew what was going on. It was really sweet.
While waiting for the food, you joined in on the movie conversation that Namjoon and Jimin had started. They seemed to be fighting over two different movies and you questioned why you couldn’t just watch them both. They looked at you and began trying to get you to see their point of view.
“We don’t want to watch it again because its boring…”
“He always falls asleep during the best parts!”
“There are so many mindless plot points that…”
Your head was whipping back and forth as you tried to keep up with their arguments, the boys speaking so fast you eventually had to give up. You sat back down in your seat, returning the soft smiles that Jin and Yoongi gave you from across the table.
“It’s okay, pretty girl. They always get this way about movies. We tend to just pick one out and put it on before they notice anyways.” Hobi leans over and whispers in your ear, making you nod your head in understanding.
“They get passionate like this over movies, huh?” You ask, almost rhetorically, as you watch it firsthand. You smiled as you watched them, Jimin throwing sass making Namjoon roll his eyes at the younger man.
“They are more alike than I think they realize.” Hobi whispers back, “They are both passionate beings. Just in different ways. But they both have strong feelings about what they believe in, which makes the debate about which movie to watch an entertaining and sometimes chaotic event.” Hearing his words, you had a new perspective for the two boys, not even just in the capacity of arguing. It was like a new light shown on the two men and it had you wanting to know more about them.
After Hobi’s words, a multitude of waiters came over and placed plate upon plate of food down on the table. The entire table was covered with food and it was at this moment you realized just how much food the boys could eat. You guessed most of the plates would be empty by the time you all were ready to leave.
Your guess was cemented once Jin grabbed his first piece of food, signaling to everyone else that they could start. You didn’t know what to grab, everything looking so good, that you were kind of sitting there in awe. You were shaken out of it though once you saw chopsticks placing meat onto your empty plate.
Hobi, on pure instinct, was making sure you had enough food on your plate before everyone else got their pick. He tried giving you a little of everything, but he also gave you some extra meat pieces, knowing you had a liking for them from your KBBQ trip with the maknaes.
Once Hobi put the first piece of meat on your plate, however, Taehyung and Jungkook noticed and also began putting food on your plate. Soon enough your plate was overflowing with food, and you had to stop your mates from continuing to give you more food.
It was a sweet gesture, but you couldn’t even make a dent in your plate. You ate slowly, savoring every flavor and taste you could. Despite not being used to Korean cuisine yet, you were slowly falling in love with all of it. Unfortunately, you could not handle any spice. You wanted to, but your mouth would slowly descend into flames if you even tried to eat anything even remotely spicy.
So, at one point, you’re pretty sure you asked for a drink refill three times within ten minutes.
“Are you okay?” Jungkook asked you, noticing you fanning your mouth from the heat as you slowly chewed your food.
“Uhm, yeah.” Your voice was pitched higher as you tried to reassure him you were fine, eyes watering and cheeks heating up.
Jungkook just quirked his eyebrow at you, automatically catching you in your lie. Taehyung was the same way with spicy foods, so Jungkook knew you were battling against the foods he had put on your plate. He didn’t mean to, he only wanted you to be able to try everything.
Movement from the side caught your attention, as Hobi found a small empty plate and began removing everything on your own plate that was spicy and depositing it onto the smaller plate with the help of Taehyung. They both had seen how you reacted to the food and Taehyung helped tell Hobi everything that would give you trouble, knowing from experience.
It was nice and heartwarming; it didn’t make you feel like a burden. Normally if this happened, if you tried to do something about it, like ordering a glass of milk, you friends would make fun of you, or your family would complain that they had to always go through the trouble of not getting what they wanted because you couldn’t handle anything spicy.
Despite having a supportive and loving family, it was hard not to feel like you were a burden growing up. Sometimes a single scoff or deep breath of air from someone could have you becoming silent, trying to hide behind your hair.
The boys didn’t make you feel this way. They didn’t make exaggerated movements as they removed the spicy food from your plate; they only sent you reassuring smiles and glances as they made sure they removed everything.
“It’s okay, baby. I don’t like spicy foods either.” Taehyung reassured you again, before starting to eat his food, not giving the situation a second glance or thought. It was nice and left you smiling as you continued to eat slowly, still struggling with using the chopsticks you were given.
For your first meal with everyone, the boys wanted to document it.
“Okay everyone, smoosh together!” Jin yelled out so he could get everyone into frame on his phone. He was the one taking the selfie, his long arms giving him the advantage as he sat at the end of the table.
You had your cheeks almost pressed to Hobi’s as he had an arm around your shoulder. Your height was not giving you any advantage as you tried not to be hidden by anyone. You were standing on your tippy toes and smiling as big as you could, showing just how truly happy you were in the moment.
This was the first time you truly felt a part of the soul group and connected to each of the boys.
“Okay…and 3, 2, 1!” You blinked as the flash went off, hoping that your eyes weren’t closed in the photo. Jin took a couple of pictures, each one had everyone doing something different, at one point, Jungkook and Hobi both pushed their fingertips into your cheeks causing laughter to bubble from your throat.
“Are you gonna post those on Weverse, Hyung?” Jungkook asked once the photos were taken and everyone was moving towards the doors, content from their bellies being full.
The boys had all tried being active on all of their social media, but they were all still partial to Weverse, liking that they got to interact firsthand with Army. They loved reading the comments on their posts and hoped that you would come to as well.
“Yeah, but I don’t know which one to post.” Jin responded but knew he would probably post a different one to each of the Bangtan Official social media accounts.
He zoomed into your face on the last photo, laughter clear on your face as your eyes were closed. He wanted to take more pictures of you, thinking you were the perfect muse for his camera. He couldn’t help but to think you were the perfect fit for them, for their soul bond.
Jin was happy you were their missing piece.

November Prompt 18: Crown
Words: 594 | Pairing: Draco Malfoy x reader
Tumblr media
There’s a surreal feeling that washes over you as you descend the castle stairs into the entrance of the Yule Ball. You hadn’t told a single soul about your date. In fact, as far as all your friends knew, you had no intentions of attending. But here you are in a pearly gown with silvery lace trim hand-sewn against the white silk. Your curly hair is styled in a slightly messy updo that you’d practiced for weeks until it was perfected, and a dainty, single emerald stone bracelet, gifted by your date clings to your right wrist. All the planning had finally led you to this very moment.
In the midst of the first dance coming to a close, an applause breaks through the room, then you spot your date breaking through the crowd. Heads turn and there seems to be whispering amongst the crowd, but not over the music. Just as you reach the bottom of the stairs, Draco’s arm links around yours. A vest and bowtie accompany the snowy white button-up that hugs his thin torso. His platinum hair is parted perfectly down the side and tucked behind each ear to fully display his dashing features. He looks absolutely amazing, even more than he does on the day to day, if you do say so yourself. And soon, the gaze of other students follow the two of you through the crowd where Draco pulls you in close for a slow dance.
“Ignore the whispers,” he breathes, pulling your wandering gaze for your friends back to him. “You look beautiful tonight and I won’t let anyone ruin this for us.” His brows raise to make sure you understand and you smile softly and nervously.
You had planned to attend the ball with Draco almost a month ago in the secrecy of your meetings in the Astronomy Tower. If everything went as planned, the entire school would be in shock at the news of you and Draco attending together, despite the existing rumors of his growing crush on you. And the whispers tonight have proved just that. Even Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Dumbledore, the Headmaster himself, had done double takes when Draco’s arm reached out for you at the entrance moments ago.
“Draco,” you mutter softly, keeping your eyes on his to stay focused. “What do we do when they see? My friends, when they notice?”
He chuckles softly and pulls you closer, gently stroking your reddened cheek.
“Then let them notice. You look beautiful. You spent so much effort planning and perfecting the perfect. Just focus on this. Don’t let your crown slip.”
You smile widely at his comment and just because you’re happy to finally be in his arms in the midst of everyone. There’s whispers and stares and even pointing, but you stay focused on Draco. It all feels like a relief compared to the fear that came with sneaking out to meet in hiding in The Astronomy Tower every night. You know your friends are somewhere with their own dates and that their curiosity about you and Draco will soon be a topic of conversation, but none of that matters now in a place where you should feel the most confident.
Draco spins you around one last time at the close of the song, and with a smile, he caresses your cheeks.
“We’ll have the best night of our lives, my queen. I promise,” he breathes before placing a soft kiss on your forehead that leaves you grinning from ear to ear, and tonight, you truly feel like royalty.

bts tumblr fic recs!!
Tumblr media
-separated by member and then genre-
if it has more than one genre like mafia and soulmate au then i will put it in the section that i think it leans more towards, but most will have summaries and warnings as well so it will be easy to figure out (hopefully lol). the genre is more au based and not like friends to lovers and stuff bc most aus have those genres as well and it is hard to separate. if it doesn't have an au it is prob in others. this list looks kind of scuffed bare w it pls. i really just made this to keep track of my fav fics so i can reread them. + some of them i haven't read in a while. and others i didn't add bc they are either on hold or it is pretty obvious that they are never going to be finished )); i really like hybrid, a/b/o, and soulmate aus so lots of those !! i go to tumblr after finishing my manhwas and when i get tired of trying to find fics on ao3, so i prob have more on the ao3 list. find other group and fandom lists here. >>the mentioned ao3 list<<
📕 - one shot/head cannon/short
📚 - series
🔃 - ongoing
✅️ - completed
🔞 - smut + not going to put all warnings for the type of smut going on in each so make sure to read warnings on the og post jic

Hey, first of all can I say that you're one of the most phenomenal writers on here and I've literally been in heaven since I came across your classical literature series Undisclosed desires: An anthology. I think I've been to maybe 30 fic finding blogs trying to look for more bts au based on classic literature but couldn't find anymore. Do you have any fic recs based on this exact theme? I'm enjoying your fics and ideas so much!
OMFG STOP IM—🥺💕💜, this is so incredibly kind of you to say!! Thank you for loving the anthology, and I’m so sorry for not updating it with the second story yet! Life and graduation are kicking my butt rn, but it means so much to hear you loved Hoseok’s story! This is such a passion project of mine and I love talking literature so much!
And to answer your question, there isn’t a lot out there! I’m gonna link some recs below, most of which are general historical/fantasy recs that I think fit the vibe in terms of emulating the classic literature storylines or style! Hopefully you give these wonderful stories and authors a try, and find something new here (note: all of these are nsfw, so please heed the warnings and do not interact if you’re a minor!)
If anyone has anymore, drop them here!
Tumblr media
✰ Matters of the Heart by @hobidreams
This fits the theme perfectly and is almost as much of a classic as the tale it’s inspired by: Jane Eyre! This Hoseok is so incredibly dashing and Rain captures the vibes of a period piece so well!
✰ The Crown by @sopewriters
There was a period of time where I was truly obsessed with the War of the Roses, so imagine my glee when I saw a Yoonkook AU with them as the dueling kings ahhh!
✰ Dynasty by @jimlingss
I’m cheating here because this is based on a very suggestive historical film called “The Treacherous”, but Jungkook and OC’s relationship was so sweet in this and the dynamics of the palace were full of intrigue!
✰ Oranges and Lemons by @fantasybangtan
HOT HOT HOT! Based on Greek mythology, you have Hoseok and a goddess of an OC alone in an orchard, and well, turns out his silver tongue is good for more than just talking...
✰ Counterfeit Culture by @ggukcangetit
AHHHH modern day Pride and Prejudice pls!! This Seokjin and OC had such fun banter, and i loved the unexpected circumstances that made them realize the way they felt about each other so much!
✰ Prima Nocta by @yoon2k
Fi is such a queen when it comes to depicting twisty relationships that are morally grey! This medieval AU was so hot, but also full of mystery because we don’t know the characters’ true feelings or motivations.
✰ Hysteria by @venusjeon
This one right here!! This absolutely and completely reads like something from a classic literature novel, from the plot to the characters to the writing style! Booking an appointment with Victorian doctor Yoongi ASAP!
✰ His Service by @venusjeon
This was an intriguing medieval AU - it deals with a relationship with a pretty big age gap, but was done so well from depicting the intense feelings to the guilt to the awkwardness of the relationship!
✰ Bewitched, Body & Soul by @kithtaehyung
Namjoon as Mr. Darcy!! I repeat, Namjoon as Mr. Darcy!! Ryen’s writing is so beautiful and captivating that you can’t help but fall so hard for this Namjoon - she captures the feeling of marital bliss perfectly!
✰ Once Upon a Bracelet by @ladyartemesia
I loved this because it read exactly like some of my favorite YA fantasy novels! The world-building was amazing, with both complex and also humourous elements, and Jungkook and OC were too cute with their bond!
✰ Kanalia by @xjoonchildx
I keep recommending medieval AUs, but this one is actually stunning. Ana pays so much attention to detail to write a story about a captivating woman and  her life (why do all the best historical fics feature a sexy Hoseok? lmk)
✰ Over Jeweled Hills by @taegularities
This was so interesting! I loved the Pied Piper and Snow White crossover, and Yoongi as the Huntsman is such a perfect fit because you know he’ll bring those brooding, angsty vibes to the fic!
✰ Moonlit Throne by @hobidreams
If you haven’t read this yet, stop, leave this post, and go read! This is one of, if not the most epic drabble series I’ve ever read! We live a whole lifetime with King Yoongi in the Joseon era with love, tears, and laughter along the way. Truly such a fine body of work I cannot recommend enough.
✰ The Taste of Longing by @thatlongspringnight
NO but why am I feeling so much in such few words?! Like I was in shock after reading this because it takes talent to tell such a complete, enriching story in a short span! Also, Prince Namjoon is IT.
✰ A Piece of the Moonlight by @jimlingss and Enouement by @littlemisskookie
I’m grouping these two Mulan retellings together because they’re both excellent but also each unique in their own way! Both of them though, have lots of heartbreak and such a moral dilemma for the characters involved!
✰ One Year, My Love by @hayjeon
Cheating again bc this is based on the k-drama 100 Days, My Prince but this Jungkook is soooo cuuuteee! Like this is an adorable love story with some great historical elements!

I'm so grateful for this community, for the amount of nice people there are here and how accepting everyone is, but I've got to say, there's one thing I'm most grateful of.
This is just a long emotional rant so skip this if you wish, but I need to let it out my chest.
I've been going through a bad depressive episode; so much so that I even started taking meds for it. It started getting a little better, the meds were finally working a little and that's when I encountered Smosh.
I didn't imagine I'd ever fall this deep. I've had hypergixations before, dozens, but never in this way, and I didn't imagine it'd be about them. It was a complete accident, me stumbling on the we bought smosh video and just being curious.
Not for the first time, this new hyperfixations on two grown men with an adorable friendship made me want to write because everything is gay and that's because I decided so. Therefore, as I often do, I started writing a little on this new hyperfixation. Usually, I just end up giving up or writing a few fics before going back to my two other main fandoms (monsta x and bts, for those wondering). However, I decided that I needed help and a better opinion; I scrolled through the ianthony tag and fell on @lilac-hecox 's blog. She wasn't the first one I saw, but the one I felt compelled to write to, so I did. And I assumed she'd either blow me off or we'd just end up talking a bit before never talking again as this usually happens.
I wasn't ready to meet someone so fantastic and someone who I would very quickly deeply care about. I'm someone who hates texting consistently, who ends up panicking after a few days of thinking I got this and am socially capable because my social anxiety takes the reign. And yet, we started talking every day, of wayyyy more than just fics. And I found in her the kindest of soul, the most loving and funniest one. Someone who's not only amazing, but also, loves just like I do. And I don't mean romantically, I have a bf for that, but I mean someone who isn't afraid to be open and vulnerable if it means I also get to be with her. I'm someone like Ian usually, someone who looks anthipathic and who is a bit more stoic than most people, but with her, it's different. I laugh all the time and she's someone who literally heard me cry and comforted me while I did so. Which is a fucking miracle because I very rarely cry and hate showing the most vulnerable parts of me.
But she's always there, everyday, to make me laugh and talk. She's one of the kindest, most generous person I've ever met. She sent me a fucking box full of little things and American chocolate (I'm canadian) because I've said once I wanted to try. She bought us matching bracelets, one that I wear all the time and never take off. Hell, I'm getting a tattoo referencing her in two weeks.
And this is kinda crazy because we only started talking in August, but this feels right. I feel like I've known her all my life. And really, I say this in the most platonic of ways, but she truly is like my soulmate. She's one of the most talented writer I've ever met, too, and she helped me through that healing phase of mine. I've started writing a lot and posting, too, which I had stopped doing when I started being too depressed. She makes me believe that life is worth living and that there are genuinely good people around, still. She's not only kind to me but to others, too! Just in general, to everyone she knows, she's present and just so implicated in everything. She changed many people's life for the better with her job, too, without going into details, but that's amazing. She's the kind of person I wanna grow up to be when I'm at her age and she just aspires me to get better every day.
So I guess, all that to say, thank you to Smosh for allowing me to meet this gorgeous girl and establishing the ground of our friendship. Lilac is truly one of my best friends and someone who makes me feel alive in the best ways; I see her when the skies are orange, when I see kids playing in the street and having fun and in the stray cats wandering among my neighbourhood. I love you, dude, and I'm just so glad we met. Thank you for existing, really, because you make my life and a lot of others' better by simply being there and being your sunny self.
You're the Ian to my Anthony and the sun to my moon. I love you so much, pookie, and I'll never let you go. Promise one day we'll meet up for real <3

When She Loved Me (Jeon Jungkook x Reader)
How does one live when life is bound to end?
Chrysalis (Kim Namjoon x Reader)
You’ve always been Namjoon’s best friend. His best dude, even. But when his fiancée suddenly leaves him, will you be able to pick up the pieces?
Baby, You Complete Us [chap. 2] (BTS x Reader)
Soulmates were a common occurrence, so common, in fact, that the world sought an easier way to find your other half: A bracelet that would scan your mark and match you with those who shared your mark. Within recent years, soul groups were becoming normal, and your own bracelet said you have seven matches.
Before I Leave You [chap. 47] [chap. 48] (BTS x Reader)
Someone always has to leave first; They just didn’t expect Yoongi to come back with a new omega (who’s clearly been through some shit). (Series warning: 🔥)
Invisible String (Jeon Jungkook x Reader)
A decade wasn’t enough to rid you of the pesky, silly and not so little crush you harbored for Jeon Jungkook during your miserable teenage years. even now, when he’s a totally different person from the geek you used to know.
Lacuna (Kim Namjoon x Reader)
In his twenty-eight years, Kim Namjoon had made countless mistakes. Most of them were insignificant and could be shoved easily enough into the back corner of his mind. The worst of them were all tied for first place, keeping him up at night. 🔥
Redamancy (Kim Namjoon x Reader)
Kim Namjoon wasn't known for making wise decisions. He acted first and, on rare occasions, he asked questions later. The path he'd taken so far was left broken behind him, but the light at the end of that tunnel sure looked a hell of a lot like you. 🔥 (Sequel to Lacuna ⬆️)
Starlight Star Bright (Kim Seokjin x Reader)
An exhausted Prince Seokjin, eldest son of the King Bangtan is at the end of a grueling tour of state visits. So when the opportunity to escape for a short time presents itself, he grabs it without hesitation. But what happens when what starts as a brief distraction from the stress of his ever growing list of responsibilities begins turning into something more? When the time comes, will the prince decide to follow his head or his heart? *on ao3*
Internal Conflict (Kim Seokjin x Reader)
Your mother marries a man, the man has a son. That son was Kim Seokjin. And now, you’re coming home for a family trip to a cabin in the woods, with a very much awakening crush on the man that is now one hundred percent off limits. A shared bathroom, a snow storm, a small town. What could go wrong? 🔥 *on ao3*
Awake (Kim Seokjin x Reader)
Androids had always been incredibly efficient, that was their designed purpose after all, to make human life easier. Synthetic love was far more appealing than its organic counterpart. You could have anyone you wanted, they could look however you wanted, they would always be agreeable and it was achievable for a cost. 🔪
Suga’s How to Guide (Min Yoongi x Reader)
Yoongi has been a cam boy for a few years now. The work is easy, the money is good, and he has loyal viewers. When he approaches you and asks if you want to be his muse for a ‘how-to’ series, your view on the infamous Yoongi changes 🔥

Pitfall (Lloyd Hansen x Reader)
You try to help your brother but can’t seem to help yourself 🔪🔥
Pretty Petals (Various Characters x Reader, Various Characters x OFC)

To Be Wanted (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
All your life you have wanted to be loved by someone. But when you don’t look like most “beautiful” women, you learn to stop wanting. You’d never expect someone like the amazing, kind, ridiculously handsome Bucky Barnes would desire someone like you

Previously on baby (you complete us):
You knew there was no going back at this point.
You knew the bond would take hold and cement the bond in your own soul.
“So, what happens now?” Your words had your soulmates scrambling, everyone talking at once as Namjoon remains silent, trying to remember what his own thoughts were as he held you in his arms.
“Anna, I’m telling you, I thought you were lying this entire time.” Laughter was the only thing you heard on your end, your best friend’s face disappearing from the screen as she bursts out into laughter.
You had called her the second you had gotten back to your hotel, frozen in disbelief at the two meetings you had just sat through, sprung on you unexpectedly once you voiced your acceptance of the bond.
“Now, miss Y/n, we would like to stay on top of things before the government records are leaked, which we are almost certain they will be as the boys’ soulmate status is a constant debate and even more so since we announced our search for you. As such, we have a meeting planned now that the bond has been accepted and you are to be staying in South Korea.” The boys’ manager, Sejin, had announced once he had come to check up on you all in the large room.
You had been in Namjoon and Jimin’s arms for only a couple of minutes, and you were wondering if Sejin was sitting outside just listening to everything going on. You looked to Namjoon, almost instinctually, to see if this was okay. You had accepted the bond only minutes ago and were now being thrust into meetings with HYBE staff.
“Does it have to be now?” Namjoon turned his head to look at Sejin, only to get a soft nod in response. Namjoon could only sigh, knowing and understanding how his managers were by this point.
“I’m sorry, Y/n. But things could get ugly quickly if we wait to have this meeting. We need to figure out a protection detail for you sooner rather than later amongst other things.” Namjoon looked dejected, as did the others. You could only nod, a little out of your element.
Jungkook was the first to get up, holding his hands out for you to take as he helped you off of the couch, making Jimin pout as you left his arms. Jungkook continued to hold your hand as the others got up, lacing his fingers with yours and holding you close.
You didn’t know it, but Jungkook was the rock you needed to keep you grounded as you walked with the boys to the meeting room after getting off of the elevator. His grip on your hand was light but reassuring, a strong presence as you felt like you were gonna fall with your fear of the unknown. You had no idea what was coming, and it scared you.
“Everything will be okay.” His English was low, voice deeper than you expected as he whispered the reassurance. Jungkook could feel your nerves, like they were within his own body. He hated that you felt that way and tried to do what he could to help you feel better.
“I hope so.” You whisper back, bumping your head against his shoulder in thanks. You knew he was trying, and you appreciated it.
When Sejin knocked on the door, and got a reply, he nodded his head and opened the door for you all, giving you a nice smile as you passed by with Jungkook right behind you, hand still holding yours. The second you entered the room, you were met with loud voices, words of congratulations you mentally translate, coming from a number of people in the room all at once.
You jumped a little in surprise, causing some quiet laughter to come from Jimin as he walked in behind Jungkook. You looked at him, blushing in your own embarrassment as he walked by. You knew he wasn’t laughing at you, more like he was laughing out of affection. You don’t know how you knew, but you did.
“Please, come sit!” You looked over to see who spoke but you didn’t recognize the voice, instead you saw a space between Namjoon and Yoongi, and Bang PD gesturing to the seat. You nodded your head and moved to the empty seat, reluctantly letting go of Jungkook’s hand,  seeing him sit down on the other side of the table next to Hoseok.
“It is so nice to officially meet you, miss Y/n. We have heard a lot about you and are excited to build a friendship with you. I am Bang Sihyuk and these are my fellow company heads.” You listen as he introduces his fellow company leaders, bowing your head and shaking their hands.
“I wanted to talk with you about the announcement. Namjoon has told us about how you want your public image, or persona, to be handled.” You look to your left at Namjoon, wondering when he had the time to tell the well-known CEO.
“We agree, we don’t think you need to be kept secret for any reason. The boys are humans and their soulmate status doesn’t need to be hidden. We plan on announcing your bond tonight, as early as we can with the hopes that we can stay ahead of the situation and be able to control it.”
“However, we want to know how comfortable you are with what information is released.”
“The meeting was insane, Anna. They wanted to know all of my socials and if I wanted my name to be in the official announcement.” You told your friends, Chris now also in screen as he waves at you. “They even asked me if I wanted access to the official Weverse account so I could do lives.”
“They want you to do lives? But you aren’t an idol?” Anna herself was confused, as she doesn’t really listen to kpop. You’ve gotten her into a couple of groups but she mainly listens for the music.
“Exactly! It was kind of weird but Taehyung jumped in and explained it as like, because the fans would know I’m their soulmate, they would want to get to know me as well. It would feel weird though, doing a live.” You explained, Anna nodding her head as she begins to understand.
“Well damn, my best friend is gonna be famous!” Chris exclaims causing you and Anna both to look at him, eyebrows raised.
“What?”
“Are you serious?” Anna asks asks Chris in disbelief.
“I’m not famous.” You say, “I am just their soulmate. It’s different. I haven’t done anything to earn the fame or attention.” You try to explain it but Chris is stuck on the fact that he is now going to have people to protect you from, apparently.
“I’m just saying, if you need me to come over there, I’ve got plane tickets ready to go. I just might need someone to bail me out of jail.” He crosses his arms behind his head, sitting back in his seat on the bed as Anna covers her face with her hands, hiding her embarrassment.
“Okay killer, I don’t think I need your protection.” Your sarcasm isn’t heard by his ears though, leaving you to continue. “The boys have actually assigned me my own personal security. His name is Songun; he is the one who met me at the airport and brought me to the hotel. I’m comfortable with him and I like him. He is very nice and funny so I think I’ll be okay.” Anna perks up at your words, happy to know you will be safe all the way across the world, while Chris just shrugs his shoulders, still unsure if you would be truly safe.
“Has your brother met him or the boys yet?” Chris asked. You sigh, knowing the pedestal Chris placed your brother on, with good reason.
Your brother was your protector, and always had been. He and Chris were often a tag team going after bullies or just anyone that they found unworthy of you or your sister’s attention. So, you weren’t at all surprised he wanted to know your brother’s opinion of Seungho or the boys.
“I haven’t called him yet. I was gonna call him after I called you.” You lied, knowing you didn’t want to call your family yet. You had texted your father, letting him know what was going on, but your brother and sister were a whole other thing. You were the youngest, and they were overprotective and liked to treat you like a baby, despite that you were now an adult.
“Okay, well, why don’t we let you go, you look like you’re gonna pass out babes.” Anna cut off Chris the second he started to open his mouth again, patting her hand against his thigh.
You felt like you were seconds from passing out. You had such a long day that you were sure you were gonna sleep for hours. You had used a heating pad that you found in the bathroom on your back, and it felt way too nice to move.
“Okay, well, goodnight then.” You spoke, not even knowing what time it was in California right now, mind too tired to think.
However, when you hung up your phone and laid down in bed, you couldn’t sleep, even a little nap evaded you. You were restless and found yourself unable to let your mind or body relax. You felt out of body now that you were awake and aware of your situation.
You had accepted your soulmates and were moving to South Korea.
You were currently being announced on Weverse as the last soulmate to BTS.
Your life was never going to be the same.
And it unnerved you to your core.
You even debated calling one of the boys, wanting some kind of distraction but you didn’t know if you should or not. You didn’t want to annoy them but you felt like you weren’t going to go to sleep without one of them here, and it made you feel weird.
Why couldn’t you sleep without them when you never had this problem before? Why did your body and mind just… change so significantly as if they were conspiring against you?
-*-*-
You ended up falling asleep watching Boys Over Flowers, one of the first k-dramas you ever watched. You had gotten halfway through episode three before falling asleep, your body scrunched together in a way only you would be comfortable with the way your limbs were. You didn’t know how to explain it, but you needed to be like a pretzel to be able to fall asleep, however, you always woke up with your knee hiked up to your chest while your other leg is straight out and your arms are underneath your head.
This time, however, you didn’t wake up on your own, knee to your chest. You felt something brushing against your face, as if tracing your lips and nose. It was soft and didn’t leave you feeling off, in fact, you leaned into the softness, soon enough a hand was cupping your cheek, giggling coming from in front of you.
“Oh my, you’re so cute.” Jimin whispered as he caressed your cheek, watching as you subconsciously lean into his hand as your slept.
Jimin and Taehyung had shown up to your hotel room, having acquired the extra key from Jin, in order to take you to the Seoul Soulmate registry building to finalize your bond legally so you can live here on a soulmate citizenship. This would give you legality over their estate and help in adding you officially to their bank accounts and everything else that comes with being their soulmate.
They wanted you to have access to everything that they did, no matter your own status. You were their soulmate, and they were going to treat you like it.
Taehyung was worried about you being treated differently, knowing some people still have issues with foreigners in South Korea, even if they were bonded to a native. He hated it and needed to make sure you had all the rights and things that they did, and he would make sure that would happen, everyone else be damned.
He also made sure that Songun was aware of his thoughts, and together they agreed on the way they thought you should be treated, and how to react should someone, anyone, behave differently.
Taehyung was currently texting Namjoon to confirm they had their appointment with their Soulmate Advisor when Jimin started giggling. He moved over to the bed so he could see what his soulmate was giggling over and found your sleepy smile leaning into his palm. Taehyung couldn’t help but to take a picture of you, sending it to Namjoon as he did so.

Tae: *picture attached*
Joon: oh. my. 🥰  she is adorable!
Before he could text back a reply, he heard you groaning a little bit, hearing the bed shuffle around as you moved. He looked back up to see Jimin cooing at you and trying to bring you back into his embrace.
“Nooooo. Five more minutes.” You grumbled out, turning onto your other side and away from the bothersome movement. You were starting to come out of your sleepy state enough to realize you weren’t alone in your room. You freeze and try to listen to them, trying to figure out who it was but inevitably you shoot straight up out of bed and turn around to see Jimin and Taehyung. Just sitting and standing by your side, eyes locked on you with soft smiles on their lips.
“Uhm…how did you get into the room? And uh, what are you doing here?” You felt weirdly violated, having them within your space so suddenly and without notice. Yet, your body was relaxing back into the bed, that feeling of having your space intruded on quickly washing away the second you see their smiles.
Man, you thought, I’m whipped. All they had to do was fucking smile and I’m a goner.
“Jin-hyung gave us the other key and we wanted to take you personally to the Seoul Soulmate Registry to get everything sorted out. And then,” Jimin turned and gestured toward Taehyung as he spoke, “we were hoping you would let us take you out to eat at our favorite Korean BBQ place for lunch?” Jimin looked so hopeful, even clasping his hands together in front of his chest as he brought up his plan for lunch.
You knew then and there, why Jimin seems to get away with so much during Run BTS episodes. All he has to do is breathe and you would do anything for your older soulmate. You couldn’t say no to him, not when you knew the bond was so knew and you were being drawn to them.
“Okay. I’ve always wanted to try Korean BBQ.” You smiled softly at them, still a little sleepy.
Jimin cheers a little at your answer, jumping up and off your bed and excitedly moving over towards your suitcase. You watch him as he picks out your outfit for the day, thankfully choosing one of your oversized sweaters and a pair of long leggings as it was going to be a colder day today.
After you get dressed and pack your bag with all of the necessary documents and your soul bracelet, you follow Jimin and Taehyung outside to the SUV waiting in the underground private parking garage. Songun, unsurprisingly, was in the passenger seat, moving to open the door for you to get into the back seat.
“Good morning Songun.” You greeted the man, a big smile on your lips as he smiles back, nodding his head at you.
“Good morning. You seem a lot happier this morning than yesterday morning? I wonder why that is?” Songun teases you a little bit, knowing exactly why your attitude has changed.
When Songun had brought you back to the hotel, you didn’t say anything the entire time, too worn out from your meetings you didn’t even blink when you got to the hotel, just nodding at him in thanks and walking into the hotel.
“Hm, I wonder.” You grin at him before climbing in after Jimin, Taehyung following you to sit by the door so you were not the first one out. They were all going to be protective over you, their instinct to protect their newest soulmate on the forefront of the delicate and still new bond. Once the bond was settled, their instincts would die down a little, but probably not much.
“Did you sleep well?” Jimin asked you, hoping he said the sentence correctly as he did. He had spent a lot of time, over the years, learning English, but it always seemed to come harder to him than his soulmates.
“I think so? I had trouble falling asleep and was restless. I’m not exactly sure what happened. Maybe it’s because I’m in a new environment.” You thought aloud towards the end, not noticing the look Jimin and Taehyung shared.
The boys knew why you had trouble sleeping, the exact thing happening to them if they didn’t sleep next to their soulmates. But they didn’t say anything. They had a feeling you needed to realize it on your own.
“Well, I hope you can sleep better tonight.” Taehyung replied, giving you a large smile, thinking of his own question for you.
“Now, is there anything you want to do here? Like anything you want to see or a place you want to visit?” He spoke slowly, his own unique drawl keeping your attention on him and not on Jimin, who had chosen that moment to begin holding your hand, playing with your fingers absentmindedly.
You think for a moment, knowing you had a whole list on your phone of things you wanted to do or see while you were here, but you were a little embarrassed by it, not exactly wanting them to see you as weird or dumb for some of the things.
You really wanted to visit Lotte World. You wanted to go shopping in a Daiso, seeing videos of it all the time on tiktok. You wanted to go to a street market and try one of those corndogs that looked so cheesy and good. You had so many “touristy” things you wanted to experience but felt weird telling the people who grew up here what you wanted. You didn’t know why but you felt a little weird and childish.
Seeing your hesitance, Jimin spoke up.
“You said you always wanted to try Korean BBQ?” You nodded your head, thankful for his slight distraction from your discomfort.
“Yeah! I’ve seen lots of videos about it and it always looks so good! We don’t have any Korean BBQ restaurants near where I grew up so I never had an opportunity to go. I really want to try Samgyeopsal and galbi and all the different banchan.” You said excitedly, eyes lighting up as you tried not to butcher the Korean pronunciation of the foods and hoping you remembered the right word for side dishes.
Before Taehyung or Jimin could say anything else, the car was parked and Seungho was opening the door for you behind the clinic. You figured it was a private entrance to evade the numerous cameras always outside the clinic. You also figured you would need to get used to using private entrances sooner or later due to your soulmates’ status.
Songun opened the door for Taehyung, who stepped out and immediately turned around and held his hand out for you to take, helping you out of the car. As he held your hand, and refused to let go of it, Jimin got out and placed his hand on your lower back, a gentle yet protective touch that made you feel safe.
“Let’s go.” Jimin mumbled under his breath, giving you both a nod, Taehyung moving almost immediately. You slightly wondered if they had the rare bond of being able to read each other’s minds, their souls being so close together at creation. It would make sense, with how close they always seem to be.
“Hello, welcome in. What is the name for the appointment?” The man at the front desk speaks to Taehyung, his eyes widening a little before returning to normal. Taehyung notices the change though, however subtle it may have been, smirking a little before answering.
“It should be under Kim.” His tone is deep and low, but you could feel the pride within his soul, that the bond he shared was finally completed.
“Ahh, here it is. The Kim Bond Completion. 9:45.” The man reads off of his computer screen, his eyes moving quickly to you and back to his screen.
He probably read the announcement last night, you thought, seeing the way his eyes kept moving from you and back to his screen. You were becoming uncomfortable, not liking the way the man looked at you but not knowing what to do/ You were frozen in place, hoping he would just tell you where to go so you could sit down and get away from his uncomfortable gaze.
Jimin and Taehyung noticed the interaction, noticed the looks you were being sent and were quick to move to your defense. Jimin stepped closer into you, his chest pressing against your back now, staring down the receptionist while Taehyung narrows his gaze and steps forward until his chest was pressing against the tall counter.
“Are you done here? Can we go sit down?” You could feel the chills going down your spine at his impossibly lower tone. Your face probably matched the receptionist’s, as he quickly nodded, telling you all that you would be called in a couple minutes since you were a high priority case.
You were about to nod and say thank you but you were ushered away by Jimin, who sat you by the wall in the corner, where the only section of three chairs were placed. You sat in the middle, a subconscious decision as Jimin sat to your right, leaving the open seat on the left for Taehyung.
You watched Taehyung exchange a few words with the receptionist but couldn’t see the either of their faces from where you sat, so you could only wonder what made your soulmate come back with a little saunter to his steps.
He sat down, grasping your hand in his and holding it on his lap, caressing the top of your hand with his thumb. It felt nice, domestic even, and you welcomed the wonderful new feeling. Only a couple of seconds later, though, a door to the left of the front desk opened, a taller man with a nice long coat on called out Kim.
You followed your soulmates’ lead and moved towards the door, the nervous feeling beginning to settle in your abdomen as the door to the office closed behind Jimin.
“Hello and good morning! I see we have a bond completion to register.” You were a little surprised that the Soul Doctor spoke in English. You had been nervous and a little afraid that you were going to be unable to understand him with your minimal Korean and stumbling throughout the entire appointment waiting for someone to translate.
Unbeknownst to you, Namjoon had specifically made the appointment with Dr. Jeon because he spoke English. None of them wanted you to feel left out during such an important appointment for them as a soulgroup.
“Yes, Sir.” You were the one to answer this time, the smiles coming from your soulmates in response were warm as you spoke.
“Alright. Well, before we start, I have taken images from a Mr. Kim showing proof of soulmarks. I will need to take images of your own, to mark down the complete soulmark group for our records. Then, I will need your signature,” Dr. Jeon spoke addressing you, making you nod your head a little to let him know you were listening. “so that the government is able to recognize that you know are accepting this bond fully. It also recognizes that you are aware that you are completing the Kim Bond group.”
“Is that it?” You asked aloud. You thought that there would be more that needed to be done, having heard stories from your friends. You only realized you said this aloud when Jimin and Taehyung laughed, the doctor doing his best to hide his smile.
“Yes, Mrs. Kim. Your soulmates have already come by the previous week to fill out the necessary paperwork for the bond completion and your soulmate citizenship registry. As of today, you are officially considered a member of the Kim Bond and all that entails.”
Shock was an understatement for how you were feeling.
In the States, all soulmates needed to be present for the soulbond registry appointment, and even then, nothing was finalized for a few weeks because different states had different centers and ways of doing things.
In California, your home state, for example, it would take upwards of two weeks just to get an appointment, and then another four to eight weeks for the bond to be legalized and updated within the registry. And it didn’t guarantee any power of attorney or rights to anything of your soulmates. There was an entirely separate department and paperwork needed to fill out to achieve that. Most of the time, you needed to be legally married to your soulmate to achieve this, which is another appointment and wait time.
You were flabbergasted that it took a single appointment and just the signing of your name. The boys had already sent over everything else, without even needing to be in the appointment with you!
You watched as the registrar handed you a huge file folder, physically weighing the older man’s hands down as he handed it to you. You carefully took the folder, opening it up on the desk space in front of you.
The first thing you notice is a small envelope with the word “card” on the front. Opening it up you see a bank card with your name on it. Your eyes widen as you realize what the registrar meant by “and all that entails.” You had access to their bank account!
You immediately start shaking your head, putting the card back in the envelope and pushing it away from you. Jimin can see your shoulders tensing up, refusal in your veins as you look up at them.
“I’m not taking your money.” Your words were final, but they still tried to persuade you.
“Darling, we make more money than we know what to do with. We all share the same bank account, and we’ve always dreamed of being able to take care of each other, to take care of our soulmates. It’s not going to be any different with you.” Jimin started out soft, Taehyung taking over without missing a single beat, making your previous thought about deep bonds being true for the two soulmates.
“We want to take care of you, to give you everything you need. We understand that you don’t want to depend on us, but what is so bad about relying on and letting your soulmates take care of you. With our schedule, it will be hard for you to have a job, especially with all seven of us. We know that.” Taehyung brought up a good point that you didn’t think of, but you refused to budge. However, they could see you were faulting in your stance and decided to lay it on thick.
“Let us provide for our youngest soulmate; let us do our duty as your soulmates and let us provide for you. You once said you always wanted to be an artist if you didn’t have to conform to capitalist design, maybe you could pick that back up? Do what makes you happy while allowing us to do our part and provide.” Jimin pushed every emotion he could through the bond, watching you crumble in the chair.
The group had discussed this before you had come, when they got the confirmation of your plane tickets. They didn’t want you working. They saw how much it took a toll on your body and your disability, and they had the privilege to provide for you and take care of you. They wanted you to enjoy life and everything they could give you. Especially after reading your messages to them. They wanted to give you the world.
They only hoped you would let them.
Jimin’s words tickled a little at the part of your brain that you had pushed away long ago. The part that just wanted to finally relax fully and let yourself be taken care of. You learned a long time ago that despite having family and friends willing to help, you could only really rely on yourself. It was hard, having to come to that idea, that notion that you couldn’t rely on anyone else for what you needed. It made you sorely independent, something that left you pushing your limits with Tylenol as you reacted poorly to the pain medicine your doctor had prescribed you.
You were finally in the position to be taken care of, like you had dreamed, but it was hard to accept it. You didn’t want them to think you were taking advantage of them. That was the last thing you wanted. But here they were, offering to provide everything for you, to let you explore your hobbies and dreams you had to push down in order to make money to survive.
You were given the chance to truly live and love, despite everything else.
Looking up from your lap, Jimin can see you had given in to their whims, that you had taken in their words and accepted them for what they were. Grabbing the folder, Jimin pushed it back towards you, opening it up and gesturing softly for you to keep going through it.
“Can I, um, can I finish looking through it later?” You ask with a whisper. It was like you had fallen in on yourself, and Taehyung thinks they might have pushed you a little too far too quickly.
It was a lot to mentally consider and to accept what they were offering, he knew that. It was scary to let someone else take care of you, giving them that intimate level of power over you, and he only hoped that you would believe that they were worthy of this level of trust you had given to them.
“Of course.” He said, pulling the folder towards himself as he nodded to the registrar.
“Well then, let me know if there is anything else you need. Congratulations Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Kim.” Jimin helped you up, placing his hand on the small of your back again, letting your body slowly lean into his.
“Let’s go get some food, baby.” Jimin whispered in your ear, his voice soft and so comforting that you feel like you had always been here, always been in his arms. Like you had always been safe and taken care of.
You knew then and there that you would accept letting them take care of you in the ways that they wished, this feeling of safety and care something you needed to hold onto, and trusted them to give, only hoping they would feel the same with towards you.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
When you finally pulled away, Jungkook leaned forward, trying to follow your lips. You were sat on his lap, his hands resting on your waist. You didn’t say anything, just stared at one another, trying to breathe and grasp what just happened.  After a couple of seconds, you break out into a large grin, moving forward and hiding your head in his chest.
Jungkook laughs at your reaction, wrapping his arms around your back and holding you close. He wears the biggest grin on his lips as he hears your laughter spilling from you. Your soul was warm, body filling with unrestrained happiness. It felt as though one hole in your heart had been filled, filled by the man you were laying with, laughing as if someone told a good joke.
This laughter was different though.
It was pure happiness.
“Alright, we have some vending machines over here, and a little way down, there is a little café that Yoongi likes to get americanos from when it gets late.”
You had arrived with Jungkook after being dropped off by the lovely Songun. It was a little pass nine am and the boys were all slowly trickling into the building. However, instead of moving to the practice room the boys had booked, Jungkook decided to take you on a small tour of the floor, showing you where everything was and giving little tidbits of the boys while you walked.
You were shocked by the number of things they had on the practice floors. Each floor had a small nook where they could pick up fresh snacks like veggie and fruit cups. They also had refrigerated drink stands that had a wide variety of drinks. All four practice floors also had a small café towards the middle of the floor, something Jungkook was excited about.
“I guess I should have brought my card?” You thought aloud once you saw the little fresh fruit cups.
“Baby, you never need to worry about using your money when you’re with us. I can promise the others will get a little upset that you think you need to. Also, everything on the practice floors is free. Well, for us, since we own a lot of shares in the company. Which means you don’t ever need to pay for anything in the company.” Your eyes widen at his words. Everything the boys say or do just keeps surprising you, to the point where your eyes might permanently widen.
“Oh.” you whisper, reaching out slowly to grab a little cup of watermelon, still thinking that someone was going to make you pay for them, popping up from behind the cart.
Jungkook just laughed, thinking you were unbelievably cute and innocent. He couldn’t stop looking at you, happy and excited to be able to be with you and get to know you. He already noticed that you stick your tongue out a little when concentrating, and that your nose scrunches up like his when you laugh.
He noticed that you also tend to pick at your fingers when you’re nervous something that had him moving to hold your hand. Which is what he did when you realized no one was going to come after you to pay for your fruit.
“C’mon baby, I bet the others are already in the practice room getting ready.” Jungkook began to tug you forward to the room. He could feel the pad of your pointer finger rubbing over the top of his hand; a soothing movement, he realized.
I don’t care as long as she is with me. Jungkook thought.
Out of their soulmate group, Jungkook had been the most eager to find you. You were only a couple months apart and to know that he had spent the last ten plus years with their soulmates, enjoying life and the bond between them, while you had none of that, it had him aching to make it up to you. He had so much love to spread, and to have a younger soulmate who he could take care of and protect like his hyungs did with his made his soul sing.
Jungkook wanted to show you how great love and the soul bond could be.
In the hopes of getting your spirit up again, Jungkook began to swing your arms, slowly at first and then faster until your arms were going above your heads and your laughter could be heard from the practice room down the hall. Jungkook began skipping in place, going at your pace until you reached the practice room, door already open and Jimin and Hoseok peaking their heads out.
“Ahh there’s our baby soulmates!” Jimin exclaims, reaching out to Jungkook and pulling him in for a hug.
“Did you two have fun last night?” Hoseok comes and pulls you into his arms, squeezing you tightly as he walks backwards into the practice room where the rest of your soul group were.
“He watched Bride of Habaek with me!” You exclaimed, excited that you had someone to watch Kdramas with you. “And we had lots of cuddles. Jungkook is good at cuddling.” You felt so comfortable that you couldn’t help but to spill everything.
Well, not everything, as Jungkook seemed to beat you to the final punch.
He pulled away from Jimin and pulled you out of Hoseok’s arms, planting a big smooch on your lips and pulled away laughing at your shocked expression. “You’re spilling all the secrets!” Jungkook managed to say through laughter.
The rest of the boys were shocked, completely speechless, as they witnessed Jungkook kiss you. They weren’t expecting it, even with the soul pull they knew you experienced the previous night. In fact, they assumed you wouldn’t let them show you affectionlike that for a few months. They didn’t want to push you, but they now realized they shouldn’t have underestimated the soul bond.
“Hey now! No more kisses until we finish practice!” Jin yelled out, stomping his feet dramatically and stealing the attention from your blushing form.
When he caught your eye, he winked at you, not the normal one you’ve seen so many times on camera, but one letting you know he knew how you weren’t ready for everyone to try and shower you in the affection Jungkook was so easily able to give you. You nodded your head in thanks, moving to the side so you didn’t get in the way as they started to set up for practice.
You weren’t sure what song they were practicing, or what they were practicing for. You tried to get the answers out of Jungkook, but he still held that shit-eating bunny grin on his lips which irritated the hell out of you. Not even kisses seemed to get him to give up the so called “secrets of practice”.
Yoongi came over to you as the boys began to stretch, taking your hand and leading you to a nice little sofa that sat off to the side in the back of the room. He sat down with you and turned towards the small, circular designed table that was to your right. He handed you a small gift bag and gestured for you to open it.
The bag held a cropped t-shirt with the word “Bangtan” on it in a design you didn’t recognize. The image was similar to the Army and BTS symbols but like it was smooshed together. It looked really cool and you could tell this was new.
“This is what we are practicing. Since we’ve returned from the army, we have wanted to do a tour representing our time as Bangtan, and everything we have done in our ten years. Since this coming year, 2023, will be our ten year anniversary, we want to do collective world tour. Songs from each of our albums.” Yoongi’s voice is low, as if telling you a secret, despite everyone in the room already knowing about it. You hold the shirt in your hands, unable to believe that they are already planning a tour since they have only been out of the army for a couple of months.
The boys had enlisted in the army as a soul group in June of 2020, during the pandemic. They wanted to give Army one last festa as a group before their enlistment, so they waited until June 22nd of that year. This meant they had only been out of their enlistment since March of this year, 2022. It was almost August now and the weather was only getting colder as fall began to arrive.
“We have a couple of new songs, one of which Army has waited a long time for. But our album is going to be called ‘Proof’, as proof that we are still here, we are still a group even after coming back. We also have solo songs we are going to introduce from our own solo projects.” Your eyes widened at his words, shocked and excited at the prospect of their solo endeavors.
“The shirt is a pre-release that the boys and I have received in order to see if we like it or not. We wanted to give you one as well. Jiminie and Taehyungie said you had a lot of crop tops in your bags so we picked this one for you.” Yoongi told you, reminding you how Jimin had picked your outfit our for you the day before.
To be honest, you packed a lot of crop tops because you get hot easily, even in colder weather. You always have. You didn’t know what your plans were going to be, but you always pick comfort over fashion and brought enough for you to wear every day for two weeks. You, however, did not feel comfortable enough with your body to wear them in public, let alone in front of the boys yet.
“Thank you, Yoongi. I appreciate the gift.” You feel so lucky to have the boys as your soulmates. They were so thoughtful and seemed to want to include you in everything. You lean forward and kiss his cheek, pulling away before putting the shirt back in the bag.
Yoongi, on the other hand, was a blushing mess. For once it wasn’t you that was flustered this time. He couldn’t help but smile wide at your kiss, even if it was on his cheek.
“Yah! Yoongi-hyung stop sitting and come practice so we can take our girl to dinner later!” Taehyung yelled out, his voice reverberating throughout the room as he interrupted your small bubble.
The rest of your soul group laughed when they saw you both blushing. Yoongi rolled his eyes before leaning forward and returning the favor, kissing your cheek with a loud smack before jogging off and getting into the practiced formation as the music starts.
The music starts with a really cool guitar riff, extremely upbeat and you could tell this was one of the new songs. The song could have been Fire’s younger sibling, the style seemed close. Yoongi started off the song and oh. my. goodness. You knew for a fact that this song was going to drive Army insane. Absolutely insane.
You needed them to practice this seven times, so you could focus on one member each time. You were especially in love with the chorus. You almost couldn’t help but clap after the song was over, eyes lit with excitement.
“I…oh my. Oh my. That was…..amazing!” You tried not to shout out the last word as the boys turned to look at you, Yoongi’s signature smirk resting on his lips.
“You liked it, baby?” Namjoon asked you, knowing how dumb his question was as your excitement was written all over your face.
“Of course! That might be one of my favorite songs yet!” Namjoon chuckled, glad that they could make their soulmate happy.
“Well, we want to surprise you with our other songs later. Are you okay with having Songun take you exploring? Maybe to the café?” Namjoon held your hands in his, noticing your excitement die a little at not being able to see the rest of their practice. But you understood completely.
“No, that’s fine. I want to share the excitement with Army! I’ll bring you guys something back from the café!” You grab your things and put your lanyard over your head as Jin tells you that Songun should be in the hallway waiting for you.
After tons of goodbye hugs, you finally left the practice room only to see that Songun was not in the hallway. You almost turned back to the room, to see what you should do, but you didn’t want to bother the boys when they obviously had things they needed to do. So, you put your big girl pants on and decided to try and navigate the building by yourself. You didn’t want to have to rely on someone else to help you forever.
You decide to turn left, after doing eenie-meenie-minie-mo, your eyes alert as you try to take everything in and remember the way you came so you can get back to the practice room. You only see a couple of empty practice rooms before you turn the corner and bump into someone’s chest.
“Oof! I’m sorry.” You apologize as soon as it happens out of instinct.
“It’s okay.” You were a little proud that you remembered your Korean and was able to understand what the man was saying, but you froze once you recognized the familiar voice.
Choi Soobin was standing in front of you with the rest of Tomorrow x Together behind him. They looked like they were just finishing their practice, sweat dripping from their hairlines.
“Oh! Y/n noona! I’m so sorry!” You were shocked by the honorific, not having heard it yet, let alone expecting to be addressed by it. You watched as the boys all began bowing to you, giving you their greetings.
“It’s okay. Please, you don’t need to bow!” You panic a little, the entire situation being new to you. You weren’t quite comfortable with this part of the Korean culture yet. In your own culture, greetings are done with handshakes, especially when first meeting someone, so it’s gonna take some getting used to.
Once the boys stopped bowing, they introduced themselves one by one, Heuning Kai going last.
“We were so happy when we saw the announcement. It’s nice to know our hyungs soul group is complete now.” He spoke in English, making your body relax a little given you still were in the beginning stages of learning Korean. He then looked behind you, noticing no one with you and the slightly lost look on your face.
“Noona, are you lost?”
“Uhm, I was trying to find the café.”
“We can take you noona! We were just heading that way!” Soobin spoke and Heuning Kai repeated his words in English for you as Yeonjun put his arm around your shoulders and turned you around. So, maybe your eenie-meenie-minie-mo tactic hadn’t been the best idea after all. You laugh a little nervously at yourself before letting them guide you to the café.
“So, Noona. How are you liking Korea so far?” Yeonjun asks you as you walk back down the hallway.
“I like it so far. I got to do a little exploring my first day before meeting the boys in person. I went to a convenience store and made one of those videos like on TikTok!” You bring your phone out and show them the video, receiving “oohs” and “ahs” from the boys.
“You haven’t done anything else? How long have you been here?”
“I’ve only been here a couple of days. I’ve spent most of the time bonding with my soulmates. We also had an appointment with the Soul Registry to finalize our bond officially.” You tell them, the boys listening with full attention.
You found yourself feeling comfortable with the younger group as you all walked to the café. You didn’t find yourself stuttering with nerves or quiet with anxiety. It was nice and the boys were all so attentive and full of life. It was a nice change from what you were used to at home, and you felt yourself growing to think of the boys like little brothers.
You even found yourself going along with their antics, letting them convince you to learn the choreography to their new song and film a TikTok with them. It took you a lot of tries but you managed to learn the choreography without hurting yourself. You felt your right knee giving you a little trouble but you pushed it aside in favor of having fun with the boys.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
They each had signed their name to the bottom, giving you the wistful feeling that rose up your back. Their words and actions made you feel cared for and had you slipping the bank card into one of the slots in your wallet, not entirely sure if you would use it or not. You moved back to the bed, sitting down on it and feeling the way your muscles relaxed into the bed.
You didn’t realize how much hearing their voices had calmed you down, had made you feel relaxed. Relaxed enough to fall asleep with your shoes on and your feet hanging off the big bed.
When you woke up the next morning, it was to the feeling of the soft silk sheets falling off the bed, leaving you cold and wishing you didn’t sleep in your traveling clothes. You were entirely uncomfortable and, in your sleep, ended up on the other side of the bed and halfway under the sheets.
You don’t know if you dreamt or not, but with the way you were moving in your sleep, you probably wouldn’t remember it anyways. Despite the restless sleep problems, you actually felt okay as you got up off the bed, not feeling any bad aches in your back or legs. You were able to get in the shower and relax under the stream of hot water after a couple attempts of translating the controls.
After your shower, you looked at the time only to see it was early, well, for this side of the world. It was 4:35 am in Seoul, meaning it was roughly 11:35 am in California, the day before? Time zones never made sense to you unfortunately.
You had a couple of text messages from you family, wishing you good luck and asking for a phone call later on. Besides that, you didn’t have any new notifications.
Since it was so early, you didn’t want to bother anyone, but you were quickly becoming bored and wanted to explore with what little time you had to yourself before you had to meet the boys at the HYBE building later on. You figured that the area you were in had street lights, and probably some stores open so you decided to get dressed and explore.
Getting up, you dried off before moving over to your suitcase, lifting it off the floor and onto the bed so you didn’t have to bend down to open it or get your clothes. Unzipping the large suitcase, you decide to dress comfy, choosing a pair of leggings and a t-shirt along with a pair of socks. You pull your Agust D hoodie over your head, loving the feeling of it and how it reminds you of why you were here.
They were being unbelievably sweet and kind to you, despite you being unsure if you were even going to fully accept them or not. They treated you like you were always there, like they wanted you with them. All the expectations and dreams you held for your soulmates were coming true, and it was hard to come to terms with after waiting ten years.
Shaking your head out of your thoughts, you grab your phone from off the charger and your small card wallet from your carryon duffle. At the last second you also remembered the lanyard that the boys sent over, the “All Exclusive Access” pass with the HYBE logo on it, grabbing that along with your soulmate passport just in case something happened.
Shoving all of those in the hoodie pocket, you move to the door, slipping your shoes on and grab the key card from where you placed it on the little entry way shelf before leaving the room.
It was quiet, to be expected, as you walked down the large hallway and flashed your key card against the small thing in the wall again, just like you did the night before. The elevator opened to bright lights and a mirror up hadn’t noticed taking up the space of the back wall. The small electronic clock above the floor buttons read 5:06 am, which meant the rest of the city would be waking up soon, if they weren’t already up.
The same desk clerk from before was the only one in the lobby, her friendly smile aimed your way as she calls out to you.
“Good morning, Mrs. Kim. Was the room to your liking?” You smile back at her, trying to hide the blush creeping up your cheeks at the sound of being called “Mrs. Kim”. You didn’t realize how much you would like the sound of it until it was being said.
“Uhm, yes, thank you.” You answer her question, before thinking it would be a good idea to ask her what the best place to get breakfast was, not exactly wanting to eat in the hotel, not wanting to be cooped up in the expensive building.
The desk clerk was super sweet and even wrote down a couple of places on some hotel stationary, giving you directions as she did. You were quick to thank her, bowing your head as you did, remembering the niceties and customs you looked up on the plane so you didn’t accidentally offend anyone.
You had also decided now would be the best time to practice your Korean. You knew that it was only a matter of time before you would be encouraged to move here, to be with your soulmates. It was inevitable.
You may still have some unworked through feelings about the entire situation, feelings of being unwanted and the like, coming and going that you needed to work through, but you also knew that these boys were already working their way into your heart, your love for the boys as BTS slowly bleeding through your growing feelings towards them as your soulmates.
This meant your Korean would need some work, because you wanted to be able to communicate with them; one less barrier removed.
You walked out of the hotel’s front doors only to pause at the sight of the large buildings in front of you. It seemed like you were in the middle of a huge shopping/business district. Moving out of the way of the entrance, you stand to the side and lean against the building so you could look down at the paper the clerk gave you. You were kind of overwhelmed by your surroundings and the feeling of your stomach doing a revolt against you for not feeding it.
You began to follow the directions told to you but had eventually gone off track with excitement as you noticed a 7-11. You had seen numerous tiktoks filmed within the franchise in Korea and had wanted to see what the hype was for yourself. You especially wanted to try one of those coffees they made with the bag of coffee and the cup of ice.
Opening the door, you were greeted by the sight of an older woman sitting at the register, her greetings of hello catching your ears.
“Good morning! Let me know if I can help you with anything.” You smile at her before answering back.
“Hello. Thank you!” Your words are slow as you test them out on your tongue, hoping you didn’t butcher the pronunciation of anything. You were relieved to see the smile in the woman’s lips grow as she hears you respond back.
“Wow! Your Korean is good!” She gives you a thumbs up, making you sigh out in relief at her compliment.
“Thank you.” You bow your head a little before moving into the aisles, eyes wide in wonder as you look at each and everything that catches your eyes.
The array of snacks and drinks catch your eye, even spotting some that are familiar to you like Cheetos and Doritos. You held your phone in hand as you glance back and forth from the Papago app on your phone and the snacks, trying to translate the best you could. As you move throughout the aisles and towards the cooler section, you snag a bag of M&M’s, along with a small pack of gummy worms.
As you get to the cooler section, you quickly set out to grab a package of cut up watermelon, craving the sweet treat after your previous day. Once you have that in hand, you move to the drinks, quickly grabbing one of the ice cups and settling on a vanilla caramel coffee bag, giggling in excitement as you did.
Juggling to hold all of that with one hand, you also manage to grab a couple of bulgogi gimbap triangles, having seen them out of the corner of your eye. These were one of the things you had always wanted to try if you ever managed to make your way to South Korea, and now you have your chance.
Deciding you can’t really fit anything else in your grip, you make your way back to the front of the store, seeing the smiling woman again as you place your things on the counter.
“Will this be all?” The woman’s voice is heard over the ringing of the machine as she totals up your items. You tilt your head as you try to translate her words, only for her to gesture to the items and give you a thumbs up.
“Yes, ma’am.” You nod your head in thanks, even more grateful for the woman when she grabs a plastic bag and begins to place your items in there. She leaves your ice cup and drink bag on the counter or you to make.
Once she tells you the total, you pull your wallet out of your sweatshirt pocket, only to remember you didn’t get the chance to transfer and money to the Korean won. You begin to pull out the card that the boys left for you, sending a silent thanks to your soulmates and a promise to pay them back once you see them.
After paying for you things and making your drink (which you record with your phone so you can have the memory forever), you thank the woman again before making your way out of the convenience store.
Seeing the sun begin to rise, you figure out your next move.
The Han River had numerous park designations, called the Hangang Parks, all along Seoul. Seeing the river was one of the items on your bucket list and you deemed it appropriate for the occasion. It takes you only minutes to find one of the entrances once you figure out how to google it.
With your bag in hand, you were able to find a nice spot in the grass along the river that held an amazing view of the sunrise just as the sun started to peak over the city line.
You took numerous pictures of the skyline, the sunrise, and even of your snacks. You even took a couple pictures of yourself, choosing to document the trip. It was always something you wanted to do, one of the places you most wanted to visit and explore. You weren’t going to let the chance to make memories and have experiences pass you by.
It was now passed seven in the morning, and you figured the boys had to be awake right now. Deciding to take the chance with the small amount of peace and courage you held, you sent a picture of the sunrise with the skyline in the distance and a picture of you to the group chat.
m8tes
you: *pictures attached* I can see why you guys like the views.
Jimin: good morning baby! 😍
Taehyung: you’re up already! We thought you would still be sleeping!
Taehyung: how long have you been up, baby?
You blush at his words, the concern translated over as you highlight the text. Numerous different bubbles pop up as the others begin to text back in the group chat.
Yoongi: you look like you’re relaxed. I’m glad you were able to explore a little this morning. Is Songun with you?
Jin: you look beautiful baby. Those snacks also look good.
Jungkook: you’re up already? Why didn’t you message us earlier? 🥺
Namjoon: Jungkook, we can’t take up all her time. Plus, she said she would message us when she was up, she never specified when.
Namjoon: thank you for sending us the pictures. We are happy you are having fun.
Hoseok: Good morning, pretty girl. Did you sleep well? I see you are wearing yoongi’s sweatshirt again 😊
The blush rises on your cheeks again at the implication that you were wearing Yoongi’s sweatshirt. You know what Hoseok meant, but still.
You: I woke up really early this morning and decided it would be nice to get out and explore what I could. I found a really nice convenience store and bought snacks! I didn’t want to wake up Songun so I just got directions from the hotel clerk. I also didn’t want to wake you all up. I didn’t know what your plans were.
You: I slept really well. The bed felt like a huge marshmallow. And I am wearing it again. It’s very comfy and soft and I would wear it every day if I could.
You didn’t know it, but your response made Yoongi blush like no tomorrow, hiding his face in his sleeve as the others begin to tease him about it.
You wondered if now would be a good a time as any to get everything over with. If it would be a good time to talk and try and complete the soul bond with them. You could feel this pit forming in your gut, the ache slowly spreading to your back as you sat there. You had noticed it yesterday, had thought it was just nerves, but the closer you got to the boys, it seemed the better the pain was becoming.
Your soul pain reminded you just how much was at stake. You hadn’t wanted to ever feel this pain, let alone have your soulmates feel the same thing, no matter how the circumstances changed.
You plucked up what little courage you had left and typed out your next message.
You: would now be a bad time for my visit?
You almost immediately regret it. It was barely eight in the morning, there was no way they were already at the HYBE building, let alone probably available for your visit. They said they had no plans for the day, but you could only guess how easily that could change.
You glance down at your left-over snacks, the M&M’s, one of the gimbap triangles, and some watermelon wondering if someday you could come back here, maybe with one of the boys. It seemed awfully calming, bordering on peaceful and tranquil.
Yoongi: of course not.
Jimin: we’ve been at the building for over an hour, hoping you would message us.
Jungkook: it would never be a bad time for a visit from you.
Hoseok: do you still have the pass we gave you, pretty girl?
You move to respond but you feel someone move behind you, jumping when they end up sitting next to you on the grass.
“I’m sorry, Miss. I didn’t mean to startle you.” Turning your head you see Songun, a small smirk on his lips as you hold a hand to your chest, trying to get your breathing and heart rate back under control.
“Oh no, Songun. Don’t worry. You didn’t startle me. I just had a heart attack for absolutely no reason." You retort out of instinct, not seeing how he might misunderstand you until the words leave your lips. You go to apologize but he starts speaking.
“Well, you should get that checked out then. Don’t want to have another one.” You gasp again out of shock as he quickly retorts back, his smirk growing into a smile as he pats you on the shoulder.
“Well, maybe you shouldn’t sneak up on people, and we would be good.” You respond back, laughter blending in with your words as you start to place your leftovers back into the plastic bag and gather your trash up to throw away.
“How did you know I was here?” You ask Songun as you start to walk to the nearest trashcan, feeling him walk in step with you.
“My bosses are good at what they do.” His words have you laughing again.
“You mean they told you where I was and asked why you were not with me like you informed me of yesterday?” He snaps his fingers at you.
“Correct. Which leads me to wondering, why did you decide not to call me before you went and explored?” You shrug at his question, not wanting to tell him you didn’t want to be an inconvenience, so you made something up.
“Got bored. Forgot your phone number card at the hotel.” You can tell that Songun sees right through you, but you were glad he didn’t push anymore. You had a feeling you would be touching on those hidden feelings sooner than you anticipated.
“Alright then. Are you ready to go and meet your soulmates?” Songun claps his hands together before gesturing you towards the waiting car parked on the street. You stare at it warily, but you nod your head anyways, pushing and grasping for the feelings the boys have already made you feel, hoping they chase away any of the doubt floating through your head.
“Yes.”

Previously on baby (you complete us):
The Korean BBQ place the boys had taken you to was a hole-in-the-wall place, inconspicuous and rightly so. It was the perfect place to just get away for a while, no one to worry about following you.
The interior was sleek and shiny, everything seeming to catch your eye as the host showed you and the boys to a booth in the back, hidden by one of the large dividers that seemed to separate every table or booth from one another.
“Thank you.” You nodded your head to the host, who seemed to only blink at you before walking away. You pouted a little at his behavior, not used to this kind of reaction when you were trying to be polite. Maybe things are different in Korea? You thought.
Jimin sat down first, then Taehyung gestured for you to sit in between the two. You thought it was just them being nice, but really, they wanted you in between them to keep you safe. They felt better knowing that they were on the outside of the booth, helping to keep their protective instincts at bay with you in the middle.
“Here, baby.” Jimin spoke up, handing you a menu from the stack on the edge of the table. You took the menu from him while also trying to take in your surroundings. You recognized the grill plate in the middle of the table, and the bowls of banchan, familiar with a couple of the side dishes placed in front of you.
Unfortunately, you didn’t recognize any of the words on the menu, struggling with your minimal knowledge of Hangul to be able to make out any of the dishes or options. You recognized bulgogi, but that was it.
“I, uhm, I will just have whatever you are going to order.” You told your soulmates, feeling a little uncomfortable that you couldn’t read the menu. You felt a little dumb, which was stupid as it was an entirely new language for you. You couldn’t possibly be expected to know the language within the span of a couple weeks.
“Oh, darling. We’re sorry. Here.” Taehyung moved closer and sat right next to you, his thigh touching yours as he began to read the menu to you. His voice was soft, nothing in the way of feeding your embarrassment. He made you feel safe.
Jimin began to look over your other shoulder, his chin rested on you as he also listened to Taehyung rattle off the different meat options to you. It felt nice, almost domestic even, as you sat there on your date. You froze as your eyes widened in shock.
Oh my. This was a date, wasn’t it?
Your shock was cut off by Jimin’s phone ringing, the singer leaving to answer it once he saw the caller ID. That left you and Taehyung, until his phone rang as well. You saw it was Jin, but the older man moved out of the booth and a couple feet away as he answered the call.
You were now left alone in the center of the booth, an open menu in front of you. You tried to remember how Taehyung described the different options, mouthing the words as you read them slowly to yourself, trying to become familiar with them. You had heard that would help you to better learn the language.
“What will you be ordering?” The host from before came over with a notepad, staring you down with what you see as a slight distaste. You didn’t know what he said though, and you could only assume he came to take the food order.
“Uhm…” You have no clue what the boys were going to order, and they were not here to answer that so you were unsure what to do. For now, you could try to order the bulgogi at least. You guessed that would be a common meat for Korean BBQ.
You tried reading out some things from the menu only to hear a scoff.
“Stupid foreigners.” The man snapped his notepad shut, making you look back down at the menu, feeling extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable. “You don’t need to be eating anyways.” The man looked you up and down, only furthering your embarrassment and having you cross your arms in front of your stomach.
“Excuse me.” You didn’t look up at the new voice, trying to hide the small tear that had gathered its way to your waterline. You knew by the tone of the host’s voice that you were being insulted, and you could only guess the reason why.
You had read about the hate that some foreigners faced while in Korea, but for some reason, you never really expected to experience it for yourself. You also never really thought you would step foot in Korea, either.
The host turned around to see Jungkook behind him, his expression enraged and causing the host to tense up. Jungkook’s eyes were narrowed, lips pursed as he looks the host right in the eyes.
Jungkook had heard from Jimin where they were going to take you and had asked to come along. He knew the older four were busy in meetings this morning, specifically to discuss you and measures for your safety and how the impact from your announcement and accounts on social media would go. The younger soulmate didn’t want to be alone and wanted to spend time with you as well.
What he didn’t expect was to show up to you sitting by yourself, almost in tears as the host who should have been taking your order harassing you. That was not gonna slide with him.
“You are going to bring us our normal order, send your manger with it, and you will do this after you apologize to my soulmate. Now.” Jungkook’s tone was scary, it had you tensing up and looking up to see the way he looked at the host.
You had no clue he would be coming, and you were a little happy to know that you would no longer be alone, even if only for a couple of seconds.
“I am sorry, Miss.”
“In English.” Jungkook hissed out in English, sorely losing his patience with the host.
“I am sorry, Miss.” The host almost spat out as he shook in his spot before rushing off and away from the scary soulmate standing at the end of the booth.
You watched as Jungkook then scooted into the booth, sitting next to you, and pulling you into his arms.
“I am sorry about him. You did nothing wrong. Where are Jimin and Taehyung?” Jungkook reassured you before asking where his other soulmates were.
“They both got phone calls.” You pushed out, feeling more comfortable now that you were in his arms. You could tell by what happened that Jungkook just defended you, and you appreciated it, scooting even closer to the larger man and placing your head on his shoulder, seeking the comfort you needed.
It was new, being able to seek out comfort. Despite how your family and friends thought you hated physical touch, you often craved it, especially when feeling down or uncomfortable. It was weird to you that the boys were always ready to hold you, often just pulling you into their arms or wrapping them around you.
Jungkook was happy when you moved even closer, resting against him in the safety of his embrace. It made him feel important, like he could protect you from everything.
He will protect you from everything, he swore to himself, pressing his lips to the top of your head as he cleared the menus from in front of you.
It was quiet, a nice quiet, while you both waited for the food to arrive, and for Jimin and Taehyung to end their conversations. Jimin ended his phone call first, apologizing refutably when he noticed the way Jungkook clung to you. He had felt panic in the bond and he tried hard to end the phone call but it was the head of one of the companies he was an ambassador for, and he couldn’t be rude.
Taehyung was a different story. Jin was on the phone trying to convince Taehyung to bring you over to the house for dinner and movies. Taehyung didn’t know if you were quite ready for it, and he could tell you were exhausted from the last few days.
Which was understandable since you had a full day of travel to a foreign country, that you were then trying to navigate without full comprehension of the language on top of meeting your seven soulmates for the first time, in person. He didn’t want to push you byt asking for more right away.
When he finally did get off the phone, the food had arrived and Jungkook was cooking the different meats while Jimin was showing you how to make a lettuce wrap with the bulgogi and banchan.
“Is everything okay?” Taehyung asked, seeing how you clung to Jungkook and the way your eyes were red as you looked up at him.
“The host seemed to think that he could be rude to our baby. Calling her horrible names I won’t repeat, all because she struggled to speak Korean.” Jungkook spoke, his voice hard yet calm, not wanting to scare you again with his tone. He had seen how you reacted only minutes ago when he arrived, he didn’t want to see you react like that to him ever again.
Jimin and Taehyung both tensed up, anger filling their veins as heard Jungkook’s response. They were mad at the host, but they were also mad at themselves for not being able to protect or defend you.
“Well, let’s hope Jin or Yoongi-hyung don’t find out. That would not end well.” Jimin noted, moving behind you to give Jungkook a chaste kiss to the lips in thanks.
Taehyung moved forward, catching Jungkook’s eye as he took the prongs from his mate, taking over the grill as his own thank you. He would give his mate a better thank you later, Taehyung decided. But, for now, he was content to watch the way his mate held you, the way your lips turned up in a soft smile when Jimin told you about some of their military escapades.
They had only been out of the military for four months, serving their specified time together under the Soul Bond law. They could not be separated for longer than a week, given how old their bond was. Even Yoongi, under his public service order, spent a lot his time on base, having been stationed within the same city the boys were stationed at due to the soulmate law within the military.
The boys had thought that their popularity and fanbase would shrivel up when in the army but were surprised to find out they were more popular than ever upon returning. Their fanbase had nearly tripled in size, brands were practically begging on their knees to work with the soul group. Artists from all around the world were hounding HYBE to be able to work with the returned group.
They spent their two years stationed near Busan, which made for a lot of small visits to most of the families, especially Jimin and Jungkook’s. That made for a lot of funny stories, like the time Namjoon fell into a large ditch and needed help getting out of it, which is what had you laughing now.
“It took his squadron almost an hour to figure out how to get him out of the ditch!” Jimin fell on top of you, laughing loudly as he tried to get his words out.
You had been in the small booth for over an hour, all of the food devoured by the four of you, and the leftovers by Jungkook who seemed to be a bottomless pit. You were getting a little tired though and had a lot to sort through mentally. You had experienced a lot over the past couple of days and knew you would be going through even more within the next coming week.
You were spending the day at the company tomorrow, or at least, that was the plan. The boys had a practice that was scheduled, and a couple of videos they were supposed to shoot as well as a couple of brand meetings with Samsung and Adidas that they couldn’t get out of.
They had felt awful, especially after promising that they would make time for you, but you were actually hoping to explore the building. You knew you would be spending a lot of time there and you wanted to be able to get around without having to be escorted by Songun or the boys all the time.
You know they wanted you to be able to depend on them, for everything, but there were some things you needed to be able to do on your own. Being able to move freely was one of them. You hated the feeling of being trapped, and not knowing the lay of the building had you feeling that way.
A yawn escaped your lips before you could hold it back, causing the three to look at you with the same soft smiles you had been getting all morning and afternoon.
“Well, it looks like our little kitten has become a sleepy kitten.” Taehyung teased, using Yoongi’s nickname for you. You tried to protest to his words only for another yawn to escape.
“I am so sorry. I promise it’s not you.” You tried to tell them, but they only let out a couple of laughs.
“We figured you would start getting tired soon. You’ve had a long couple of days and our instincts were already telling us it would be time to take you back to your hotel room soon.” You were surprised, not knowing their mate instincts worked like that. Maybe it was because you were the lone female? Or maybe because you were the last mate to be bonded? You didn’t know but it was kind of nice to not have any expectations set against you.
It was kind of nice to be taken care of, not having to ask for it. Not needing to worry about giving anything in return.
“Do you want to get going? I promise Jungkook will be going with us.” Jimin suggested, seeing how you and Jungkook were still glued to each other’s side. He even wondered if you would want Jungkook to stay with you. It seemed you felt safe with his younger soulmate, and that made him immensely happy.
Jimin was happy that your bond with the younger was growing, that you were able to seek comfort from him now. He could only hope that you would begin to seek him out as well.
“Yeah, I think I should be getting back. I didn’t realize how tired I was, I guess.” You nod your head, feeling a little bad that the day was being cut short, but another reassuring squeeze from Jungkook had you feeling a little better.
Getting back to your hotel, you spent more time talking with your mates, getting to know them better. The short car ride had you feeling closer to them, on a deeper level than just knowing things because you were a fan. It had you feeling more comfortable with the idea of the bond itself.
When you got to the hotel room, though, you felt this tug, like you needed one of them to stay with you. You felt this itch under your skin the closer you got to your room, and your grip only tightened on Jungkook’s hand. It was like your soul was needing the connection of the bond, like the ache you felt drawing you to Jungkook meant the bond was developing to the next level.
Your soul felt comfortable with Jungkook on a deeper level, the next soul bond level triggered. You wanted to be closer to the man, wanted him to stay with you, and it seemed you weren’t the only one feeling the soul tug between you too.
Once you entered your room, Jungkook didn’t want to let go of your hand. He was familiar with the feelings he had, and only recognized them as his fractured soul was now starting to meld back together. It happened six times before, but this was almost even stronger now. His soul and being finally felt whole again.
“Will you, uhm…” You paused, unsure if you were being selfish, asking to keep the boy with you and away from the others. You looked away from the three men, now entirely unsure of yourself again. You didn’t understand what you were feeling, and it had your mind running circles.
“I would love to stay with you.” Jungkook grabbed your hands again, bringing them to his lips to kiss the back of your hand before turning to Jimin and Taehyung.
“We will have Songun bring you a bag.” Jimin spoke up, smiling again as he figured out what was going on.
“Don’t forget to be at the company by nine.” Taehyung winked at you, causing your cheeks to become red again, something the man sorely missed the sight of.
“We will see you later, my loves.” Jimin came up and gave you a soft kiss on the forehead before giving Jungkook a kiss. Taehyung followed, placing a kiss on the cheek before moving to Jungkook. It was a sweet gesture and had you smiling big even after they left the room.
-*-*-
It was oddly domestic, laying on the bed with Jungkook and watching the Korean drama you had been watching the night before. He had his arm wrapped around your shoulders, bringing you in and letting your head rest on his chest. Your own arm was placed on his stomach, flat against his shirt and rubbing patterns into it with your thumb.
Songun had already come by an dropped off a bag for Jungkook, a change of clothes, pajamas, and other overnight necessities for him. Instead of being in a pair of baggy jeans and an oversized jacket, he was now lounging in a pair of sweats and a black t-shirt. The sweatshirt he had been wearing, you had taken for yourself, pulling it on over your own pajamas.
You decided it was your mission to collect their sweatshirts like infinity stones, needing one from each to complete your collection of comfort clothes. You loved the feeling of them, how soft the sweatshirt was and the familiar smell it provided.
“Thank you for staying with me.” You whisper to him, moving a little closer to him and gripping part of his shirt in your hand.
“Of course. I could never say no to you or the bond.” He breathed out, gripping you tighter and bringing you even closer. You were practically laying on top of him at this point.
“The bond?” You asked, curious of what he was talking about. You had read a lot on soul bonds when you were younger, and you didn’t remember reading about anything like this.
“When something happens to trigger the next level of the bond, it can create this need or pull between the soulmates. I’ve felt this six times before and it just means that our souls are now beginning to pull back together into one.” Jungkook explains, running his fingers through your hair.
“It means that your soul felt safe enough and close enough with my own that it called out to mine. This need to be nearby like this will slowly die down over time but it won’t every really go away.” You nod at his words, but then look up at him when you realize something else.
“Does this mean you still feel this tug with the others? Am I causing you pain, keeping you from the others?” You felt awful, not realizing that, by you being selfish, you were making the others suffer.
“No, no, no. You are not causing me, or the others, any pain. My bond with the others is already solidified. I will always feel the tug to be with the others, but you are my soulmate too. This tug we both feel right now, is important for our bond.” His face was only inches from your own now, the both of you sitting up from where you were laying.
You wanted to kiss him.
You wanted him to kiss you.
You felt the pull leading you forward, eyes glazing over the closer you get. Jungkook’s own desire was telling him the same, pushing him to capture your lips with his own. His grip on your back moved to tighten around your waist, pulling you even closer to him. Your hand was no pressed to his chest, a gasp leaving your lips at the passion you felt behind his soft lips.
The kiss left you breathless, gasping for air every time your lips disconnected. It was soft and warm and everything you could have ever hoped for a first kiss. Something you had been dreaming about since you got your soul mark.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
You clicked on the messages first, tears coming to your eyes as you scrolled all the way to the top, replies waiting to be clicked on for every single one of the messages you have sent over the past ten years.
You couldn’t believe what you were seeing, needing to rub your tired eyes more than once as English and Korean replies were sent, responding to each and every one of your own messages. Hundreds of apologies written as you scrolled, each one sorry for waiting so long to wear their bracelets.
You moved over to the ‘matches’ button, needing to confirm with your own thoughts what was happening. And there it was, seven matches, their profile pictures and names only confirmed that you were the missing soulmate to BTS.
You sat on your bed in shock, not knowing what to do as your brain froze, the seven people in your matches folder staring back at you. You just kept reading their names, over and over again, trying to tell yourself that this was a dream that your subconscious gave you to build your hope up again.
But then you remembered that the official tweet said that they sent a message with the number of one of their team members, a number to call so they knew it was you. You searched your messages, scrolling all the way down to the bottom to see that same number with the message:
“Hello. This is Sejin with BTS’s management team. Here is the number of one of our translators. Please contact us as soon as you receive this. BTS would like to get into contact with their last soulmate and meet you.”
You wasted no time in calling the number, not even thinking if your phone plan had international calling or not. It didn’t occur to you that it could be midnight where they were, you just had the urgency to call them, to see if they were real.
When the translator heard her phone ring, shock and excitement moved throughout the room. Everyone had been waiting in one of the hang out rooms within HYBE, waiting for the slight chance that the boys’ last soulmate would see their message.
“Answer the phone!” Jimin couldn’t help but yell, not wanting you to have to wait too long and think they were ignoring you. He wouldn’t blame you in the slightest if that thought went through your head.
When Sejin gave the translator the go ahead, a simple nod, she answered the phone call and put it on speaker.
“Hello? Is this Miss, Y/n?” The translator spoke through the phone, causing your eyes to widen.
“Uhm, yes, it is. Can I ask who this is?” You wanted to be sure, needed to be sure that this was real.
“This is Sohye with HYBE. I am one of the translators with BTS. Is it okay if I switch this to facetime so we can be sure of your identity before we move any further?” Oh, wow, she was quick with this. It makes sense; you wouldn’t want to give any information out to just anyone.
“Uhm, okay, please just give me one moment.” You answer back, moving to place your phone against your lamp so you could be seen within screen. It took only a couple seconds for your phone to alert that the translator requested a video call. Taking a deep breath, you accepted the call only to be face to face with Sejin.
You were not expecting right away to meet one of the people who had always been by the boys’ side. Everyone loved Sejin for how he treated the boys and took care of them.
“Hello Miss Y/n. If it’s okay with you, I would just like to verify your Soul Connection identification number.” It looks like he has a phone in his hands, and when you start reciting your id number, he seems to follow along on the phone.
Since your soul mark was only unique to you within your soul bond, it wouldn’t exactly indicate you were their soulmate, as so many have seen their marks throughout the years and have tried to tattoo the mark on their own skin, pretending to be their last soulmate.
“Okay. Thank you! Well, it seems like you are who you say, so I would like to start with saying thank you for reaching out to us. The boys are ready to talk with you now, unless you have any questions first?” Sejin looks behind the camera before gesturing for someone to move back. A small sigh leaves his lips.
You have so many questions but don’t know if you can even ask them. You want to know why they only just put their bracelets on. Did they even want you? They had been together as a soulgroup for so long, you feel like you would only be messing things up. You had almost nothing in common with the boys, would you even fit in socially?
“Miss Y/n?” Sejin sees the tears pooling in your waterline, can see your lip trembling. You take a deep breath, trying to calm yourself as you look away from the camera really quick.
“What’s going on?”
“Why is she quiet?”
“Is she okay?” Sejin turns to the boys, shaking his head as their questions, motioning them to wait a second.
“Miss Y/n, we can take a break if you need. We can call you back later.” Sejin suggests, and you want to take it but know that if you do, you will ignore the call. You wouldn’t have the courage any longer.
“No, uh, it’s okay. I-I don’t have any questions.” You manage to choke out as you try to hold your emotions back. You didn’t need any of them to see you break down.
“Okay. I will hand you over to the boys then.” Sejin reluctantly moves over so the boys can take his spot. Once they do, they see you visibly regulating your breathing. The tears you’re holding back immediately make Jimin start crying.
It was quiet for a couple minutes as you and the boys take in each other. You weren’t exactly sure how to start a conversation, and neither was Namjoon. They weren’t sure if you knew any Korean, but they also didn’t want to have to use a translator every time they wanted to talk to you.
“Hi.” Surprisingly, Jungkook was the one to start the conversation, his smile almost blinding as he looked at you. He couldn’t believe that you saw their message and called them. He was hoping every second that you might put the bracelet back on and see their matches. He wondered if you read his messages.
“Hello.” Your voice had them wanting to touch the stars, see if they shined as brightly, felt as warm. And when you shyly waved at them, Yoongi wanted to clutch his heart in his hands and offer it to you on a silver platter.
All of them wondered how they could have gone this long not knowing about you, not having you by their side. They could all feel the missing piece in their souls, the ache that teetered on painful as they looked at you, fiddling with the stack of bracelets on your left wrist, just barely covering your soulmark.
You were nervous, and they didn’t blame you.
“We’re sorry.” Taehyung had gotten tired of the silence, wanting to talk with you. He wanted to know everything he could about his baby soulmate. He wanted this awkward time to be over and for you to be with them.
“You don’t have to be sorry. You didn’t know.” And it was true. It was one of the thoughts that crossed your head as you looked at them. You could see their red eyes and puffy cheeks, evidence of their crying.
However, they knew that you had it worse. They didn’t know you existed, they spent ten happy years together while you had none. You knew they existed and waited years for them. Nothing they felt right now could compare to what you did.
“But you did.” And with Taehyung’s words, you broke.
They watched you bring your knees to your chest and place your head on them, sobs breaking through your lips as you tried and failed to hold them in. Namjoon’s hands clenched in his lap at the fact he couldn’t just bring you into his lap right then and there. They couldn’t comfort you.
“Please, baby, do not cry.” Hobi’s english was soft and had you looking up at them.
“You have every right to be upset with us. We forever wish we put those bracelets on sooner. But we cant take that back, no matter how much we want to. What we can do, is work hard in the future to make you as happy as we can. We can only hope that you still want us…” Namjoon finally spoke up, trying his hardest to put all of his emotions into his voice. He wanted you to know that they were willing to do anything to make up the past ten years to you.
“You have to realize, I never thought I would meet my soulmates. I went years thinking you didn’t want me and that was why you didn’t wear your bracelets. That you were happier without me. Who would want a disabled soulmate?” You chuckled at your own deprecating humor, not even seeing the way their jaws clenched in anger.
Who in the world would ever think that? Jin couldn’t help but think after the translator finished. He wanted to hurt whoever planted that in your head.
“I know you read my messages. I went through a lot these past couple years and have a lot of baggage. I have bad days where I can barely walk to the bathroom, and I have good days where I end up pushing my limits because I feel no pain. I need you to really think if you still want me before I end up getting my hopes up and you change your mind.” You lay it all out for them. Every one of your thoughts condensed into a single minute. You didn’t want to meet the, feel the bond and start to fall only for them to not catch you in the end.
“Come stay with us.” Yoongi’s tone was cool as he suggested, like he had everything planned out. Everyone’s eyes widened at his words.
“What?” You managed to ask, wondering if you heard him correctly.
“Come stay with us. We want you and this bond more than anything. Ever since we found out about you, we have spent countless hours reading every message, searching for any sign of your whereabouts and who you were. Let us show you how much we want you. You won’t have to worry about anything when you are with us. Give us a chance to get to know each other. Get to know us before you decide that we won’t catch you.” You always thought that Yoongi was eloquent, but to hear the translation from the translator… you almost wanted to start sobbing again.
You’ve never had anyone outside of your family try to fight for you. Even your friends since childhood wouldn’t fight for you this much. You’ve never really had anyone beg you for your presence. Beg you to give them a chance.
“I—I don’t have the money for a plane ticket.” Were the only words you could articulate at the moment. Everything seemed to blindside you and your brain was overwhelmed. It wasn’t an excuse. Your coping mechanism was humor, and you didn’t want to breakdown again as you knew you were fated to if you said you would give them the chance.
“Don’t worry about that. Let your soulmates handle everything.” Jin was the one to speak this time, a wink accompanying his words. You remember him saying he did that when he was nervous or feeling awkward.
“Can we, uhm, have your number?” Jimin asked, wiping the tears off his cheek. He hadn’t stopped crying the entire time, too much emotion spilling from him now that he was able to see you and hear your voice.
You nod your head before giving it to them, all seven of them and Sejin putting it into their contacts before messaging you so you would have their own numbers. You were quick to receive a selfie from Jungkook, a message saying hello accompanying the picture.
“Please don’t be afraid to message us. We will always make time for you. Also, please let us know when the earliest we could have you fly out.” Namjoon smiled at you, his phone in hand as he tried to memorize your number.
“Well, I work from home, so I can pretty much work anywhere. I need to get some luggage first though and a couple of other things.” Before you could say they could get you a flight for next week, you notice Hoseok has his phone out.
“Don’t worry about the luggage. You can send Hoseok your address and he will have some from our favorite brand delivered.” You felt like your eyes were going to be permanently widened from the number of surprises that kept coming your way.
You wanted to object but from the look they were sending you, you figured it would be better to not argue with them. So, you nodded your head and sent the older man your address, slightly uncomfortable with them knowing it but you knew they would probably ask for it sooner or later.
“What’s your favorite color, love?”
“It’s this light blue color.” You turn to grab your favorite water bottle and bring it close to the camera to show them. They all nod like they were taking notes before looking off screen for a second.
“I’m so sorry, Y/n, but we have a meeting to attend with our directors. Thank you so much for giving us a chance and we will definitely talk to you soon.” Namjoon’s dimple smile had your full attention as everyone said their goodbyes and promises of contact. Even as you said goodbye and the video call was ended, you had their bright smiles burnt into your cornea.
After checking to see if your phone still had some charge to it, you were quick to go to your phone app again, this time to your recent calls list.
“Hey, so I think your joke isn’t so much of a joke anymore…”

Previously on baby (you complete us):
They had another soulmate.
One who had been wearing theirs for ten years.
One who had been messaging them.
And their last message said they lost hope and were going to take the bracelet off.
After receiving their soulmate notifications, Sejin had gathered them up quickly and brought them back to their dorms. They were all in shock, so many thoughts going through their minds. They didn’t need to be around others as they processed this. Sejin decided he would talk to his team, figure out what the needed to do next.
The boys remained glued to their home, their couches occupied by multiple bodies as none of them moved into their shared room. They had spent the past couple of days reading all of the messages you had sent, their hearts heavy as they read about your life, the good and the increasingly bad over the past four years.
Tissues and blankets were splayed over the room, their faces puffy as they come to the realization that their mate was an army, their songs helping your through the toughest points in your life, only for you to lose hope because of them. To believe that they wouldn’t want you at all.
Their hearts broke and their souls ached.
But they could only imagine how you felt. It did seem as though they didn’t want you, and they were unable to prove otherwise before you lost hope. You spent ten years hoping for them to come, only for them to come too late.
“Hyung…we have to find her.” Jungkook couldn’t help but sob, his grip on Taehyung tightening as he continued to read the messages over his older mate’s shoulder. Jin was behind Jungkook, holding him as he cried out.
Jungkook was your age, and he couldn’t stop himself from imagining your life, your expression as you told them about your days. He imagined his time with his mates, wondering what would have happened if they had found you sooner.
“I know.” Namjoon, too, was having trouble keeping himself closed off. His face was puffy and his face had tear stains marked down his cheeks. He held a pillow to his chest, looking over his mates as they cried in each other’s arms.
He had been messaging Sejin all morning, determined to find you. They started with your profile, the profile picture helping only a tiny bit. They had their social team looking through all social media, looking for a facial match. They also used any information given from your messages to find you.
Yoongi suggested going through info attained from medical records, remembering the man from Soul Connection had said something about it. That there may be connections if the person allowed. Someone on their team was in the middle of talking with the company, trying to get access to those records.
“We will find her, even if we have to make an announcement on Twitter.” The reassurance from their leader helped a little, but when they finished reading your messages, their heart ache turned into determination.
Jungkook was the first, going back to the very beginning and responding to each and every message you sent. The others soon following suit. Messages in some broken English and Korean were sent. It took another couple of days but the team was not able to find you.
Sejin said their best hope was to send out an announcement, and that if you were truly an army, you would see is and hopefully turn to the app. They would send you a message, telling you that they would like to talk to you and sending you the number of one of their translators.
Their only hope of finding you was if you were to see their announcement somehow.
They had to hope that you still wanted them, even if your actions spoke differently.
-*-*-
It had been almost a week since you had taken off your bracelet, consequently giving up the hope you had of ever finding your soulmates.
It was a weird feeling, almost as if you noticed even more the number of soulmates around you, like your heart was still hoping your soulmates would just show up, in front of you, or give you a sign at least that they were looking for you as well.
But you knew that wasn’t going to happen. If it did, it would have happened years ago. Soulmate bracelets had become common a couple years back, and almost everyone you knew wore one.
It was around 9 o’clock am and you were at your favorite café, your work laptop in front of you as shifted through emails, sending ones to trash as you deemed fit. You had a large coffee in front of you, refilled probably twice by now along with an empty plate that once held a lemon loaf slice.
The television played in the background as you listened to the sounds of the café, taking a small break so you don’t end up hurting your eyes even more. You had been there since they opened at five thirty, unable to sleep.
You had been having trouble sleeping since taking off the bracelet, attributing the issue to the different feeling of a weightless wrist. Change was always a motive for your body to have sleeping difficulties, unfortunately.
Rubbing your eyes, not caring about the left over makeup residue, you open them again only to catch sight of the television, one of your favorite kpop groups, BTS, was on it, well a picture of them was. It was followed by a twitter post, the word “soulmate” catching your eye.
You quickly close out your email and head to google, going straight to twitter and signing in. The first thing that came up was the post from the official Bighit account.
Hello.
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.
The collaboration BTS is doing with Soul ConnectionÔ has brought to our attention the presence of another soulmate within the already bonded group. All seven members have responded to the bracelet notification and are waiting for their soulmate to respond.
However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, they have been unable to get any information about their soulmate, as their profile is private due to either personal settings or from not wearing the bracelet.
We are asking that if their soulmate is reading this, that they please answer the messages that have been sent and get into contact with us.
This is of the utmost importance, as now that both parties are aware, soul symptoms are soon to begin and we wish to place importance upon the health of both parties.
Thank you.
The tweet was retweeted by BTS themselves, with the caption, “please help us, army.”
It had your mind racing, wondering if they were your mates, seeing as you had seven of them according to the app. You looked down at your mark, before looking away, a sigh leaving your lips.
There was no way BTS were your mates. Absolutely ridiculous.
Your brain was just trying to save you the heartache of being completely abandoned by your own soulmates, so it was coming up with ridiculous ideas to ease the pain. But it wasn’t going to work, as you were already familiar and comfortable with the idea of pain.
You decided that enough was enough for the day and decided to go home and actually enjoy your day off before your pushed past your limits. You knew them well enough, and always tended to teeter on the line of too much. You couldn’t help it, still kind of bitter about the years old diagnosis.
Picking up food on your way home, you managed to not need your cane, a silent thank you to the sky above as you pushed your door open with your hip. You placed the food on the small side table and your laptop bag on the floor besides your desk.
Just as you moved to open your takeout container, your phone was ringing from inside your sweatshirt pocket. Groaning, you pulled it out after putting your fork down.
“Hello?” You asked into the phone, not even bothering to take a second to check the name on your screen.
“Hey sis!” You sighed, knowing that your food was going to get cold before your sister ever decided to hang up the phone.
“Hey Ken. What’s up?” Your sister, Kennedy, was a fashion editor for some magazine in New York, having gotten an internship after graduation, where they ended up hiring her on. She’d been in New York for over seven years now.
“Nothing much, just saw the news and word on the street is that your lover boys have found their last soulmate. I just wanted to see if I could ease the poor heartbreak that I knew my baby sister would inevitably feel...Unless you have something to tell me?” You rolled your eyes at her, seeing that she hasn’t changed since you last saw her for your dad’s birthday the year before.
“Dude, I am not heartbroken, your dramatic.” You listen as she laughs into the phone. You completely ignore her joke that you might be their soulmate.
“Are you sure? If I remember correctly, just a couple months ago Daniel sent me a video of you drunk and crying because J-Hope posted a video of Jungkook and Jimin laughing.” You cringed, remembering this exact video, and how you proceeded to punch your brother the next morning for sending it to everyone.
“What did you say? “Why are they so smol and cute?” Was that it? No, I think you were pointing out how beautiful Jimin’s eye smile was. Aha! That’s it.” You could tell she was wearing a smirk on her lips, proud of reminding you about your drunken breakdown over Jimin’s smile. You would never live this down.
“Haha. Very funny. If I remember correctly, I still have a video of you on my phone trying to use my cane as a stripper pole and falling down on your ass, flashing everyone.” You bring up her own drunken mishap.
“I thought you deleted that!” She practically screamed through the phone, making your own smirk grow.
“Now why would I do that when you bring up my own drunk video every couple months. I gotta have something up my sleeve.” It was quiet for a couple minutes, your sister’s breathing the only thing coming through the receiver.
“Okay fine, truce for now?”
“Truce for now.” You repeat back your own little saying.
“But I really did call to check on you. I heard from Daniel that you haven’t been having the best week.” Another sigh leaves your lip as you think of your older brother.
You were the baby of the family, Kennedy being three years older than you and Daniel being the eldest, only two years older than Kennedy. They were both protective of you, of course, but Daniel had seen firsthand what the death of your mother and your medical diagnosis had put you through. Had seen you when you were at your worst when your sister was in New York, unable to get time off to help.
He visited you every weekend, and you had lunch with him every Wednesday, without fail, for the past three years. He took you to doctor’s appointment and was in the middle of helping you to make your home more accessible for when your body was pushed past its limits.
He offered to buy you a wheelchair, but you declined, saying you weren’t that bad yet. You knew mobility aids were expensive, and didn’t want him to have to pay for it.
“I’m fine Ken. Daniel is just being a worrywart like always.” You dismiss her concerns, not wanting anyone to worry about you.
“You know you can always talk to me about anything, right? I’m always here for you.”
“I know, Ken.”
The conversation only lasted for a couple more seconds before Kennedy hung up, knowing she wasn’t going to get anything out of you. You had closed yourself up those past couple years; Kennedy knew that not even messaging your mates on the soul app was helping anymore. She wondered if you still wore the bracelet, wondered if you had found them or not.
You spent the rest of the day lounging around your living room furniture, unable to get comfy as your hip decided to give you issues. It took three hours for you to finally find a comfy position, only for your mind to decide to linger on your sister’s words.
BTS had found their soulmate, and they were waiting on their soulmate to contact them. Usually, if there was a bond match, the private setting would shift so the matching soulmate could see their profile. The only way that BTS couldn’t see their matches profile but see their picture or send a message was if the soulmate in question was no longer wearing their bracelet or hadn’t worn it yet.
It had your thoughts whirling. It all seemed too coincidental in your mind. The night you take yours off, BTS supposedly finds their missing soulmate through the bracelet. You kept telling yourself that there was no way, that you were just delusional.
But there was a very small part of you that thought, maybe it is me.
And unfortunately for you, that thought beat out your other ones in a competitive battle.
You made your way to your room, to the junk drawer in your dresser that held the bracelet. Once you put it on, you knew your app would update, and you would be able to access your soul profile. If you were their soulmate, on the very miniscule percentage that you were, you would see a notification in your messages.
You held the bracelet in your hands, just observing it, wondering if you were getting your hopes up once again, not sure if you could pick up the pieces this time. After several minutes, you finally plucked up the courage and strapped the bracelet on your left wrist, just over your mark.
Your mark was a single moon phase, the full moon in particular. You were under the impression that your seven mates held the other phases on their own wrists, creating the full cycle. Once you had the bracelet on correctly, you turned to your phone, pulling it out and almost immediately getting the notification that the Soul Connection app had been updated.
You opened it, waited for it to load, and paused when you saw the number 654, the little red bubble sitting at the corner of your messages tab. You couldn’t believe it. You had over thirty notifications, six hundred plus messages in your inbox, and seven matches to your profile.
It had to be a coincidence.
It had to be a coincidence that you had seven matches within the time you had taken off your bracelet, and that they had put theirs on.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
“Alright then. Are you ready to go and meet your soulmates?” Songun claps his hands together before gesturing you towards the waiting car parked on the street. You stare at it warily, but you nod your head anyways, pushing and grasping for the feelings the boys have already made you feel, hoping they chase away any of the doubt floating through your head.
“Yes.”
You were right when you thought that the HYBE building might be bigger on the inside. It was like going inside Newt Scamander’s suitcase, a complete never-ending maze of rooms and corridors. You knew for sure that if you didn’t have someone to follow, you would become trapped within as a consequence of getting lost.
It had taken only five minutes for Songun to bring you to the building, using his security badge to gain entrance to the staff/artist underground parking structure. However, he had you use your badge, the one the boys sent over to your home, to gain access to the building. He wanted to be sure it worked, that way you would have no trouble with any of the other doors inside.
The second you got inside, you could feel your hands becoming clammy, knees starting to feel weak as Songun helped guide you to the front desk, wanting the woman at the desk to become familiar with you and know who you were.
“Hello, how can I help you.” The woman, her name tag reading Arin, smiled up at you, putting you a little at ease. However, you were still nervous to you quite literally handed her your pass. You couldn’t form any words and hoped your badge would suffice.
“Oh, um.” Arin shuffled out, looking at you with a nervous smile before looking down at the badge and seeing the words printed across the front. Then her smile turned into a different kind of nervous, knowing if she made one wrong move she could be fired.
“Ah, I see. Welcome Mrs. Kim. I hope that you find everything to your liking.” You blinked at being called Mrs. Kim again, wondering what that is about when your name is clearly printed on the badge.
You were also curious to why she seemed so nervous around you now. You weren’t famous or rich or anything of the nearest sort. She acted like you were about to take her job from her and blacklist her. Like you had power over her. You didn’t know if you liked it or not. It made you a little uncomfortable to be honest.
“Can you alert the boys that we are here please. I will lead her up right now.” Songun leaned over the desk, whispering in her ear for a couple of seconds before he pulls away. Arin nods and reaches for her phone. Before you could say anything, Songun hands you your badge back and leads you to the elevators.
“The badge works a bit like the hotel, you just place the badge over the security strip.” You nod your head at his words, storing the information in your head. You hold your badge up to the strip on the wall and the elevator opens within a second, making your eyes widen.
“Now, with your badge, you have full access to any of the rooms your soulmates do, including any practice rooms or studios.” Songun begins to describe the uses of your badge as he presses the floor to the 15th floor.
Ever since the HYBE Insight exhibit closed while the boys were serving their military enlistments, the public has been unable to access any of the floors of the HYBE building. You remember seeing some pictures from other fans of the Insight exhibit and thought it looked amazing.
You were even more amazed when the elevator doors opened to the 15th floor, a large portrait of the boys on the opposite wall. It was a picture of the first group photo the boys posted to Twitter when they all came back from serving their military enlistment. You remember how sad army was when the boys enlisted at the same time, but the soulmate laws required it so soul pain wasn’t experienced from distance or separation.
Your hands were now extremely clammy, a little shake to them as you tried to clench your fingers into a fist. You were beyond nervous, even a little scared to see them now that you were only a mere couple of feet from them. You stopped in your step, shoulders hunched as you wrapped your arms around yourself.
“Hey, are you okay?” Songun had stopped when he realized you weren’t next to him any longer. He turned to see you a couple of feet behind him. He moved back over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“I don’t know if I can do this. What if they’ve changed their mind? What if they don’t want to see me anymore?” You began to ramble, your insecurities coming into play as they spun the thoughts moving in your head.
“Miss Y/n, I can’t tell you things are going to be easy or simple when you walk through those doors. But I can say that those boys, since finding out about you, have done nothing but worry that you won’t give them a chance. They are just as nervous and scared about this meeting as you are. I can’t tell you what to do, but I can say that you all need this. To see each other and get all of your feelings out on the floor.” Songun leaned down in front of you, so you could see his face as you looked at the floor. You listened to his words, the way he talked to you so gently that he reminded you of your own father.
“If you don’t want to do this, I can give them some excuse and take you back to your hotel room.” Songun ended with a shrug, making you laugh a little. You knew he was trying to make you feel better, feel at ease and you couldn’t thank him more for it. But he was right. You needed to see them, needed to end the ten plus years of mental torment you’ve endured. You needed to talk to them and move forward.
“Okay. I’m ready.” You nodded your head, in a way reassuring yourself that you were actually ready for this. If Songun could tell that you were talking to yourself more than to him, he never reacted. He just nodded at your words and held your shoulder the rest of the walk, giving you the reassurance you needed to walk through the door.
Songun knocked on the door, not even a second later moving out of the way as the door opened to Sejin, who you know as one of the main managers for the boys. He smiled as he noticed you, making a welcome gesture as he opened the door wider for you to enter.
“The boys are waiting for you inside, Y/n.” His smile while he meant to be nice and welcoming, did little to help you feel comfortable. You turned your head to look back at Songun, only to see him nodding his head at you again, telling you that everything would be okay.
You turned back around, clenching your fists again before nodding and walking into the room. You tried to steel yourself, to tell yourself that you were okay. You clenched your fists so hard you could feel one of your fingers pop and shift. You opened your fist and began to try and pop your finger back in when you noticed the boys, all moving to stand from where they were seated on the couches.
You paused in your step, seeing your soulmates up close and personal was different than seeing them on your screen or texting them on your phone. Seeing them a couple of feet in front of you made this all too real. You could vaguely hear Jungkook say “she’s finally here.”
It was awkward for a couple of long seconds, you just staring at them as they did the same to you, as if taking you in. You were just making sure they were real, that this was really happening.
“Uhm, hi.” You waved your hand a little awkwardly, your mind screaming at you to break the tension in the room. You took a step backward, unsure if you should leave or not, which seems to knock everyone out of their trance.
“Hello. Please, come sit.” Namjoon being the ever diplomatic and caring leader is the first to speak, his smile bright and dimpled just like you had seen many times on camera. You always loved his smile; how warm it was and how it seemed to calm everyone down.
Namjoon had his hand out, whether it was a gesture for you to sit, or a hopeful attempt to bring you closer, you would never know. You nodded your head at his words and moved to the couch opposite of where they were sitting.
Your body was tense, uncomfortable in a new room and a new situation. You felt unprepared, like the time you were in the principal’s office and you were waiting under your principal’s watchful eye as you waited for your parents to arrive. You remember you were going to be suspended for hitting someone who had tried to make fun of your elder sister. She was in a car accident when you were ten and had lost half of her leg, making her wear a prosthetic leg that went up to her knee.
You had your hands clenched together, resting on top of your thighs as your back was rim rod straight. It wasn’t comfortable, but you were too nervous to care. However, you did lean slightly to the right, your hip still giving you some discomfort.
“We are sorry again that you’ve had to uproot your life to come here, but we are grateful for the chance you are giving us.” Namjoon starts the conversation off, right as Sejin leaves the room. Your eyes darted to the door and back, now even more nervous and intimidated by what’s going on.
“We know that the circumstances are not ideal,” You sigh at that, making Namjoon pause in his obviously prepared speech. “but we regret the time not knowing you.”
You cut him off this time, not needing some rehearsed words intended to calm you down. You tried to understand, tried to tell yourself that he was just nervous and needed his script to feel reassured but you couldn’t help but feel the disconnection, like you were just a simple worker and not his soulmate.
“Please, Namjoon. I would really appreciate it if you could actually talk to me instead of giving me your obviously prepared speech. I’m not some employee or businessman that you need to be prepared for.” You take a deep breathe, feeling that you were getting worked up again.
Jin and Jimin glance at each other while Yoongi smirks, hiding behind his ever-growing locks. He hates having to cut his hair short for his military service, and he hated having to be semi-separated from his soulmates, doing service work instead of enlistment. However, he liked how brave you were being in front of his younger mate, that you weren’t afraid to put him in his place despite the obvious power struggle in the room.
“I am not fragile despite my disability. I can handle having uncomfortable conversations. I was fully prepared to give up on my soulmark. I thought that maybe, my bracelet had to be defective. I mean, why in the world would fate give someone like me seven soulmates?” You scoffed at your own words, the idea that fate had that you still questioned, even now.
“Yes, I waited ten years for you, hoping and praying to fate that you would get your bracelets and see my messages. See that I wanted you. And I can’t blame you. I can’t blame you for not getting one. I can’t blame you for not knowing you were missing a soulmate.” You had noticed that some of the men were crying at this point, feeling the emotions that you put into your words. Jimin and Jungkook especially were sniffling, eyes red as tears marked their cheeks.
“At one point, I even thought that you had all already found each other and didn’t need me. And it seems I was right. You have been together for so long; I would only be getting in the way. I would be a burden you felt you needed to keep around in order to keep me from dying of soul rejection.” You didn’t mean to blurt that out, but your mouth was moving quicker than your brain and your feelings long buried were getting in the way.
“Don’t say that!” Jungkook yelled out, startling everyone in the room and making you jump in shock. You weren’t expecting his outburst, almost forgetting that you weren’t just talking to yourself.
“You are not a burden. You will never be a burden. We spent so long trying to find you, trying anything we could to find a post or picture anywhere that would lead us to you when you took your bracelet off.” Jungkook was now standing, moving to kneel in front of you.
“We read every single message, cried so many times in guilt that we weren’t there for you, for anything. We did everything we could think of to find you, even going as far as having our managers make that twitter post.” Jungkook was holding his fist to his lip, biting into his index finger. Namjoon took over from there.
“I apologize, you are right. I shouldn’t be talking from my mind, but my heart.” He even stood up, moving to sit next to you, but not before asking permission, gesturing to the spot next to you and only sitting down once you nodded your head.
“Jungkook is right. Once we were notified of your presence with the soul bracelet, we were shocked. How could we have not noticed the small empty feeling within our bond? How could we have gone so many years together, happy, and not notice you were across the world, suffering and alone and believing that we didn’t want you. We were so mad at ourselves.” Namjoon slowly reached a hand out, covering your clenched fists with his palm and squeezing gently, hoping to reassure you.
“We,” Namjoon gestured to the others, “want you as our soulmate like fate intended. There is a reason why we have connected soul marks, why our souls are linked.” His eyes are locked on your own, even as you turn your head to look at his hand on your lap. He can only imagine the words circling through your mind, the emotions flowing through your veins.
The boys had prepared for this. They all knew the trauma their lack of bracelet had caused you. They knew you would be hesitant to jump into their arms and accept them. He could tell from where he was sitting that their plan was slowly crumbling though now that you were in their presence.
The plan was to let Namjoon do all the talking, knowing you didn’t speak any Korean. But you saw right through them, causing his own mind to scramble with how to talk to you without using the prepared speech he wrote with the boys. He was so used to having everything prepared, having a backup plan for a backup plan all ready to go at a moment’s notice.
“We accepted you the moment we knew you existed. You are ours.” Yoongi spoke up from his spot next to Jin and Taehyung, eyes narrowed as if daring you to contradict his statement.
He was fully ready for you to just be theirs. Yoongi and Taehyung had spent so much time on your socials, watching the tiktoks you and your family had posted on your account. Even right before you came in, Yoongi was on your Instagram, trying to memorize the smile on your face, hoping he could bring you the same joy and happiness.
Yoongi’s statement sent shivers down your spine, the amount of possessiveness you could feel rolling off his tongue had your brain short-circuiting. You hadn’t felt something like this before. It was like an amplification of the feelings you had when you talked to them at the airport or even on the plan after your hip popped out.
You felt accepted and wanted.
Looking at Yoongi, your eyes sweeping over to Jimin and the hope he had written all over his face. Jin with the slight pout to his lips as he looks at your clenched fists, the slight bruising at the bottom of your thumb peeking out through Namjoon’s grip. Taehyung and Hoseok who had their hands clenched together and was watching your every movement, a slight twinkle to Taehyung’s eye as he glanced between you and Jungkook.
You would always feel like you were a burden, like you didn’t belong, but maybe those feelings could disappear over time. Maybe, fate was right when she connected your soul with these men. Maybe you should have never lost your own faith in fate. But ten years is a long time to feel unwanted.
“I-uh, I can’t promise anything, I have a lot to work through, but I…” You cut yourself off, trying to figure out the words you needed to say. Your mothers voice rings through your head, reminding you that fate always has a plan for you. That things happen for a reason.
“I want this. I—I’ve always wanted this…to have my soulmates and bond with them. Even after all this time I still hoped that I would find you.” You try to fight through the emotions you were experiencing, years of fear and hope battling in your throat. Jungkook can see you nervously tapping your fingers against your thigh and without thought moved forward to hold your hand in his, sending you a soft, reassuring smile.
“I guess I am just afraid.” You let out a nervous laugh, squeezing Jungkook’s hand in your own grasp. You look away from them, eyes focusing on the wall as you fight to blink away the onslaught of tears.
“Why?” The voice rings out, your mind recognizing it as Taehyung before you turn your head back, looking him right in the eyes.
“Because you have been together for so long. I can only imagine I would be interrupting the flow of your bond and relationship. I would be a burden you tiptoe around, trying not to make me uncomfortable as you return back into the comfortability and stability of your already existing bond. I’m afraid I won’t fit in with you, that my disability will hold you and me back. I cannot and will not put my needs to the side. I’ve had people before who were supposed to love me push me aside because I didn’t fit the mold they had for me in their head.” Your eyes narrowed, your heart beating so fast you could feel it in your throat.
“If you accept me, you accept all of me. I won’t be the hidden soulmate who isn’t allowed to leave the house because she isn’t normal or perfect.” At this point, you are letting it all out, all of your frustrations and fears. If these men were going to accept you and build a life with you in it, you weren’t going to hold anything back. You needed them to know what they were getting into.
You watched their eyes widen at your words, like they couldn’t believe what you were saying. You then watched their expressions turn to anger. Yoongi turned to Jin in anger and began speaking in Korean, too quickly for you to make out any familiar sounds or words. At one point you flinched, seeing Yoongi begin to stand up.
“He is not angry with you or at you. He is upset that you feel that way and have experienced such things without him being there to help you.” Namjoon’s whispered words have you turning back to Yoongi, reassessing the thoughts running through your head.
Namjoon knew you thought Yoongi was upset with your words, mad at you for your assumption of them, but you were wrong. Yoongi wanted to hurt the people who hurt you, his protective instincts strong when it came to his bonded. Well, Yoongi actually had some few choice words, but none that he felt comfortable repeating.
He could tell that his words had done something, made you feel some way because you looked back at him with wide eyes, reminding him of Jungkook when he was younger, unsure of the world ahead of him. His heart clenched with the way you looked to him for reassurance, and he knew from then that he would never let you go, would never be absent or unable to be there for you. He would do what he could within his power to protect you.
“He…he wants to protect me?” You asked Namjoon, hands tightly clenched with Jungkook’s as you looked away from Yoongi and up to Namjoon. You couldn’t help but to feel small, hoping that what Namjoon was saying was true. You had too many emotions crashing against your skull and you needed his reassurance.
Yes, you had your family at your side, and some amazing friends who you loved and who loved you, but you had always felt like a burden, no matter what you did. This led to many feelings of unworthiness and feeling incompetent. It didn’t help the words you would hear, murmured or whispered in passing, even by some family members at birthday parties. You saw the looks you would get.
You had never felt protected before, the feeling unknown.
It was something you always wished for. The security of being protected by someone who loved you was a powerful thing.
“We all do.” A quiet voice came from your right, Jimin having moved closer while you looked at Namjoon. He had wanted to hold you since the minute he had heard your voice over the phone that very first day. He could feel your heartache and your pain through your voice, he remembered he broke into tears at the sound of you so unsure.
Jimin sat on the couch next to you, turned to face you as he brought his hand up to brush your hair softly behind your ear so he could see you. You noticed Taehyung sitting behind him, a hand on Jimin’s lower back and an even softer look sent your way.
“You’ll never have to hurt again, with us. Just…give us a chance.” Jimin pleads with you, his voice soft. He thought you weren’t going to accept them; thought you were going to reject them. He knew pain was nothing new to you. He didn’t know if you would rather accept that or accept them.
You couldn’t help but to burst into tears at the sight before you. While Jimin was talking the rest of the boys on the other couch had moved closer, as close as they could get to you with Jungkook sitting at your feet, hands still connected to your own, rubbing the small bruise at the base of your thumb.
Jimin didn’t falter, he just moved his hand that was cupping your cheek to brush his thumb across your cheeks, wiping away your tears with such a softness you hadn’t felt since your mom had passed. His movements had you nodding your head, slowly at first, almost like a subtle flinch but then you were nodding your head up and down, his hand moving to follow your movements.
Once Jimin recognizes your nodding, once he realizes what it means, the biggest smile breaks out on his lips, eyes closing in what you recognize as his signature eye smile. He starts jumping in his seat and wraps his arms around you, almost falling into you as he does so, your weight now being supported by Namjoon behind you.
Jin smirks as he looks over you and Jimin to catch eyes with Namjoon, glad that you were giving them a chance, just like he predicted. Jin knew you would give them a chance, and he was preparing to woo you like never before, even though in Jin’s eyes, you would have never said no to begin with.
Your sniffle brings the boys out of their excited reverie, everyone looking at you and making you become embarrassed as you wipe your nose with your sleeve, no tissue in sight for you to reach for. You had stopped crying in between Jimin and Namjoon, feeling the bond activate at your words and feelings of acceptance.
You knew there was no going back at this point.
You knew the bond would take hold and cement the bond in your own soul.
“So, what happens now?” Your words had your soulmates scrambling, everyone talking at once as Namjoon remains silent, trying to remember what his own thoughts were as he held you in his arms.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
“Thank you, Namjoon. You are right. I don’t think I would be too comfortable staying with you all so quickly.” You were shy admitting that, the boys could tell. It had Yoongi scooting down further in his seat. Jin practically pouting at the thought of you not wanting to stay with them, but he knew you needed time.
By the time it was time to hang up, Emilia had come back over and told you that you were going to be leaving in a couple of minutes.
“Well, I have to get going. I should be in Korea within an hour maybe? I’m not too sure.” You tell them, truly thankful for them, and glad they didn’t mention your hip again.
“Okay. Well please let us know when you touch down and when you get to the hotel.” With that, you say your goodbyes and you buckle back up into your seat.
You love women. That’s it.
Emilia was absolutely the sweetest person you had every met. Once the plan took off and left the Tokyo airport, she came and sat by you and asked you in the politest way what had happened and if there was anything she could do in her own capacity to help you. She brought you a heating pad that she found in the medical bag on the plane and helped you rest your leg on the seat in front of you.
She spent the rest of the hour-long trip talking and laughing with you. You found out she heard your phone call with Namjoon but didn’t hear any specifics, just understood that you found your soulmates and that you were on the way to meet them.
“They must be super rich if they are flying you all by your lonesome to meet them.” You could only nod at her, laughing a little bit at just how right she was.
By the time you got to the airport in Seoul, you felt that you made a friend, even if you knew it would probably be the last time you saw them.
You sent the boys a text in the group chat that you had arrived and would be making your way to customs. However, you didn’t expect for someone from Bighit to be waiting for you when you got off your plane with a wheelchair. The wheelchair had your name printed in script on a sign and the man holding the wheelchair seemed like a huge body builder. Scared you a little bit and had you pausing with your cane.
You hadn’t even grabbed your suitcases yet, waiting for them to be unlocked from the compartment they were in within the plane.
“Are you Miss Y/n?” The man had pushed the wheelchair over to you, his words soft, completely the opposite of his physical appearance.
“Yes I am, uh..” You trail off, not at all knowing who the man was but you saw his HYBE lanyard and badge.
“I am Songun, Miss. I am here to take you to your hotel. I was also told by Mr. Kim to tell you that you do not need to go through customs due to your special passport.” You blink slowly at him, in your own head trying to figure out why you don’t need to go to customs.
“Oh, okay.” You go to move forward when you hear someone moving behind you. Turning around you see one of the attendants with your luggage.
“Thank you.” You smile at the man before grabbing the handles. It was a little difficult since you needed your cane but you made it work. Until Songun came over.
“Please Miss, I insist.” He gestures to the wheelchair that now has no sign on it. He helps you into the chair while talking in Korean to a man that was behind him.
“Lee, grab her things. We need to be quick.” The man nodded before grabbing your luggage, walking behind us as Songun began to push you towards the exit. It was still light out as it neared three in the afternoon. And you were hungry. And needed a good soak in the bath.
“Alright Miss. The hotel is only about a twenty minute drive and I will help you check in.” You nod at Songun as you maneuver yourself into the back of the vehicle. It was really spacious and you almost fell asleep at the feeling of the comfy backrest.
Songun and the other man get into the front seats, leaving you along and looking out the window at the scenery.
Seoul was different than anything you could have imagined. The closest you could think of would be a busy Sacramento at night on a Friday. But this was way more. It was peaceful in the way that you knew no one would think to look at you as you walked by. Everyone at home would stare as you walked with your cane.
It was busy in the way you could see hordes of people in every direction. The deeper you got into Seoul the more entranced you got.
“That is the HYBE building Miss.” Songun pointed out as you drove past, your eyes trailing to the large building. You knew the boys were in there at the moment, the tingling in your chest and the burning feeling in your mark telling you they were near. It had you pushing down the feeling to run to them, to just complete the bond with them before they could change their mind.
That’s what you think you were most afraid of. That they would change their mind about wanting you.
You only had to wait five more minutes before the vehicle pulled into an underground entrance. The parking garage for the hotel seemed to be a private one, Songun pulling out some papers to be allowed in.
Once you were allowed in and parked, Songun insisted you get back into the wheelchair. You tried to tell him that you were fine using your cane but it wasn’t working.
“I’m sorry Miss. Mr. Kim insists you use the wheelchair until you are at least within your room.” You wonder if this was the same Mr. Kim who he spoke of before. If he was talking about who you were thinking of, then there were at least three “Mr. Kims” he could be mentioning.
Too tired to argue or complain, you comply and get into the wheelchair, the same man moving to grab your bags from the trunk of the car.
The hotel was simply the nicest thing you had ever seen. It had a huge gold chandelier in the middle of the room and chairs you knew were too expensive to sit in just beneath. The entire room screamed “rich” to you and made you feel like you should be staying somewhere else.
“Uhm, Songun? Are you sure this is the correct hotel?” You turn your head to the Bighit employee, obvious apprehension written all over your face making the man smile.
“Yes, Miss.” You just nodded your head, thinking the man was probably sick of your questions by now.
You sat as he rolled you up to the front counter where the receptionist smiled brightly, as if waiting for your arrival. She looked from Songun to you, glancing behind you to the man who you still didn’t know his name before looking back to you.
“Welcome! Can I have the name for the reservation?” She looked at you, thankfully speaking English as she moved to start typing on her computer.
“Uhm… I’m not sure what the name would be under.” You tell her before looking up at Songun. He tells the woman Jin’s name, causing the woman’s eyes to widen and her mouth to open for a couple of seconds before she switches, her mask coming back on and her fingers typing wildly at the keyboard in front of her.
“Alright, Mrs. Kim. Here are your key cards, along with a pin for access to the amenities within the room. Breakfast is at eight o’clock. Please enjoy your stay.” She gestures for someone behind you, making you turn around, packet in hand, to see a bellhop like you’ve only ever seen in a show when you were a kid, with the luggage cart and everything.
However, the bellhop moves away when the man holding your luggage walks past him, Songun shaking his head, refusing the service and moving you towards the elevator.
“Miss, please move one of the cards in front of that there.” Songun motions to a pad like thing on the wall in place of a button. You cautiously remove one of the key cards from the packet and swipe it in front of the pad, watching as the elevator instantly opens.
“Wow.” You mutter, unable to hold back your amazement.
Once Songun wheels you in and the man holding your luggage comes into the elevator, the doors close. You see the buttons on the wall and holding your key card in front of you to see your room number, you press the number that corresponds to the floor you were assigned. You were pretty high, you thought, as the elevator took its time to move to the 7th floor. You smiled, wondering if the floor number was a coincidence.
Once the doors opened, Songun once again pushed you out and to the right, moving down the floor until you came to a room on the left side of the hallway. Not needing the hint, you moved the card in front of the familiar pad on the wall on the side of your door. When the door opened, Songun spoke up.
“Okay Miss. Mr. Kim’s instructions were to stay out of your room for your privacy unless you tell us otherwise. Would you like any help getting inside?” You think about it, silently thanking the boys for their detailed thoughts.
S“No thank you, Mr. Songun. I think I’ve got everything from here.” You move to lock the wheelchair so you could get out.
Holding onto the handlebars, you slowly move up and out of the wheelchair, not noticing Songun’s hands up and near your back, there to help you if needed. You turn around and test your weight on your left hip, only feeling a little pain. You deem this good enough and move to put your cane on your arm again. Adjusting your duffle on your shoulder, you grab your luggage from the man and thank him.
“Here is my number. I have been assigned to you while you are here. Please let me know if you wish to leave the hotel.” Songun hands you a card that includes his business title and number. You nod at him again, before thanking them for the help.
Closing the door behind you, you slowly figure out how to make your way to the bed where you place your luggage on the edge before sitting down. You were beyond tired and even the room couldn’t bring you to widen your eyes in amazement.
The bed was bigger than anything you had ever seen and the room was the same. On the wall opposite the bed was a large dresser and entertainment center, a very large television attached to the wall above it. There was an opening to the left of the dresser which seemed like a hallway. From the bed you could only make out a large tub? That seemed to poke out from the right of the end of the hallway.
To the left of you and just past the entryway that seemed to house a small shoe closet, there was a large cabinet that was floor to ceiling, making you wonder if it was clothes closet. To your immediate left and right were nightstands. On your right was a sitting area with a small couch and a very comfy looking recliner chair. A coffee table was in the middle of a circular rug, marking the sitting area, and was aimed at the television.
Past that, was the large glass, sliding doors that opened up to a small balcony, accompanied by a small table and chair set.
“I’ll explore everything tomorrow.” You spoke aloud, now alone to your thoughts.
Now that you were here, in South Korea, about to meet your soulmates, everything seemed to hit you at once. You could feel the tears begin to fall from your waterline as you laid back onto the bed.
Ten years.
You waited ten years for your soulmates.
Never did you imagine even a similar scenario for where you were now. You never dreamed that this could happen. Yeah, like most people, you dreamed for your soulmate to sweep you off your feet, or to be someone famous who could take care of you. But this, this was that times a hundred.
Would they even be able to support you on your bad days?
Would you be able to support them?
A sob breaks through your lips as the thought comes to you. You could barely support yourself and your needs most days, how in the world were you going to be able to support and help seven world famous men.
At this point, your thoughts were spiraling deeper, making you think this was just a huge mistake. That you would never be able to fit into an already established soulgroup and be able to love and support the boys.
Your phone had been ringing for a couple minutes now. You were unable to hear it through your sobbing and had missed two calls from Namjoon now. Once you were able to calm down enough, physically not mentally, you could barely hear the generic ringtone you had set.
“Hello?” You managed not to sniffle as you spoke.
“Hey, baby. We were just worried a little. We wanted to know if you made it safely to the hotel room?” Namjoon’s dulcet tone soothed what little worries you had floating in your head. It was as if they didn’t exist. You don’t know how he did it, but you were able to relax into the bed now, feeling how comfortable it was on your aching back and hips.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” You wiped the stray tear from your cheek and sat up a little, groaning at the stretch to your hip. “I was in the bathroom.” Your excuse was light, the boys catching it quickly, but no one said anything.
“That’s okay. As long as you made it.” Taehyung’s husky tone made you want to groan again, for a different reason entirely.
“I made it.” You say back.
“Well, we are all sure that you want to rest so we will let you go.” Namjoon speaks up but Jungkook’s voice is heard at the end.
“Wait! Are we going to be able to see her tomorrow?” You squint your eyes, trying to figure out why he said to wait.
“Err, Jungkook wants to know what your plans are for tomorrow?” Namjoon changes Jungkook’s question a little, not wanting to pressure you.
“Uhm..” You hadn’t thought that far ahead. You knew they probably were hoping you would want to go and meet them, feel the soul touch and complete the bond. But your fear of the unknown had you wanting to step back, to stay trapped in the hotel room and fly back home after the week was over.
“I don’t want to bother anyone…” You begin to say, unable to form the sentence you want to say.
“You won’t ever bother us.” Yoongi’s tone is blunt as he cuts you off, reminding you of the first video call.
“We are not busy tomorrow.” Jin’s voice tags onto Yoongi’s, making you wonder if he could read minds.
You are reminded of the all-access pass the boys sent you for the HYBE building. You remember Songun pointing it out for you on the way to the hotel. Maybe you could walk there in the morning? Do some sightseeing and grab some coffee? You hope the minimal Korean you tried to learn on the plan was sufficient enough to get you by.
You were kind of at a standstill, Namjoon realized. You didn’t feel comfortable enough to ask them if you could visit them tomorrow, and none of the boys wanted to make you feel pressured to see them so early.
“If it’s okay with you, maybe I could visit in the morning? I’m not sure what time I’ll wake up but I plan on going to bed soon.” Your voice was entirely unsure, and you weren’t confident in your words, something the boys noticed and had their heartstrings tugging.
“That sounds perfect, baby.” Namjoon’s dulcet tones once again managed to calm your racing heart. Anything you let them have, anything you were willing to give, they would happily take. They were just happy you were giving them a chance, anything else was a miracle.
“Okay.” You whisper back, still not sure what to say to them.
“We will let you rest, okay. We—” Namjoon paused, seemingly catching those three little words on his tongue.
“Thank you for coming.” Yoongi interjected, seeing his younger mate stumble on the sentence they all wanted to say.
“Goodnight.” Your smile was small as they said goodbye.
Putting down your phone and plugging it into your charger, you finally notice the small basket on the side table by the door. You walk over to it, moving slowly so you don’t bug your hip any more than you already did. A small smile grows on your lips as you see a couple of Korean snacks and candy along with a bottle of red wine and a bank card?
You grab the note in the basket to see that it was written by one of the boys, probably Namjoon.
You made it!
We are happy that you are here and hope you like your room.
We have each picked out some snacks that we enjoy, with the hopes that you too might like them. We have also included a bank card that is attached to our soulmate account for you to use while you are here. Please use it. We want your time with us to be free and fulfilling and don’t want you to have to worry about anything.
Your boys,
They each had signed their name to the bottom, giving you the wistful feeling that rose up your back.

Previously on baby (you complete us):
“I guess I should thank you for the box then, Yoongi?” You lean forward, causing the male to blush a little. He just nods shyly and says you’re welcome with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Well, thank you a lot, Yoongi. I appreciate the package and will make sure to wear this to the airport.” You smile, your small cheek dimples poking through as you do making Namjoon smile back. You move the items back in the box as the others shout protests. Claims of cheating thrown around, all of them wanting you to wear something they picked out to the airport.
“Maybe next time, you guys!” You try to ease the play fighting, thoroughly amused by the proud smirk on Yoongi’s lips.
It was about 4:30 in the morning and you were just getting to the airport, your brother having offered to drive you.
Actually, he showed up yesterday, unannounced, with food. Your sister had told him about your soul situation before you even had the chance. He demanded to go with you, but when you told him that the boys were paying for your ticket, he conceded as long as you made sure to call him and face time him so he could ‘talk’ to the boys.
He helped you pack, making sure all of your clothes fit into the two suitcases, and even took the time to put together all of your toiletries, or well, tried to before you stopped him. You didn’t need your older brother helping you put your private things together. After that, he stayed the night and bought dinner for you, even going as far as inviting your dad over.
That was a surprise.
You had to reassure your dad and brother that you were okay and not being forced to go. They were fully aware of your ten years of waiting, and of your feelings about the entire thing. They had to console you every year when it got to the anniversary of you receiving your bracelet.
“I don’t know about this, honey. Why now?” Your dad brought up good questions, but you reassured him that they were idols and their lives were extremely busy. He didn’t care though, not when he witnessed your tears.
And then, when he did get over that part, he asked you for their number so he could talk with them. You refused in embarrassment, knowing exactly what your dad wanted to talk about. You knew it wouldn’t really have much to do with talking and more to do with slight threatening and choice words. Daniel just laughed about the entire thing.
You were wearing the sweatshirt Yoongi had sent you along with a pair of comfy leggings and compression socks, wanting to be entirely comfortable for your almost sixteen-hour flight. You had one stop in Japan for an hour where you would definitely need to stretch and maybe get a coffee or something. You had your carry on duffle bag filled with your flight necessities, including the headphones, beanie, and kitty eye-mask Yoongi also sent. You even included the coloring book and markers.
You had your passport, both of them, in your sweatshirt pocket, not wanting them in your bag. The duffel bag almost reminded you of a large purse, oddly resembling Taehyung’s artist made collection bag but with the normal duffle bag material. It was nice and the size was perfect so you didn’t have to put it in the overhead shelves and you could just put in under the seat.
“Take your shoes off and place them in the bin.” You hear the TSA agent yell over the crowd.
Taking out your phone, you look over the ticket that Yoongi had transferred over. Yor flight left at 5:45 am, giving you enough time to get through TSA and check in, according to your dad at least.
You stand in line for a couple seconds, waiting for your chance at check in. You had your cane with you, resting on your arm as it hung so you could move with all of your luggage. When you get to the front, you put your things in front of you and place your cane on the floor.
“Hello, I am a little confused with the ticket my soulmate sent me. It doesn’t have a gate number on it.” You say to the woman who asks to see your ticket. When you show her the ticket on your phone, her eyes widen a little, before she calls someone over.
“I’m sorry ma’am. You have a private flight which means you need to be on the other side of the airport. I will have someone escort you over there.” Your eyes widen at the information as you stare back down at your phone.
“Oh, well thank you ma’am. I appreciate your help.” You smile at the woman before moving off to the side, struggling a little with your bigger suitcase. Not even a second later a large man wearing a security badge walked up to you.
“Are you Ms. L/n?” You nod your head slowly, a little unsure of how he knew your name.
“I am John. I was assigned to be your personal escort and guard for the time you are within the airport. Are these your bags?” You don’t get the chance to nod before he takes the handles of your suitcases, leaving you to have your duffle bag and cane.
It takes roughly ten minutes to walk to where you check in for the flight Yoongi booked for you. When you get there, the man behind the desk just asks for your name. You give it to him and watch as his eyebrows raise slightly before the computer beeps at him.
“Okay, these are your luggage tags, and this is your boarding pass. Our private lounge is off to that side where you can wait.” The man, named Michael from his nametag, hands you the papers which John moves in to grab before you can. He attaches your luggage tags to your suitcases and then nods his head before ushering you into the lounge.
It was a large room, fitted with an abundance of comfy looking couches and chairs, at least three vending machines, and a small bar.
“Alright Ms. L/n, you can wait here until the flight is to board. No one else has been given access to the room under Mr. Kim’s orders.” You wonder which ‘Mr. Kim’ he is referencing.
“Uhm, I was wanting to go and look for some coffee and breakfast, maybe. And wanted to get a couple of snacks for the flight.” You tell John, wondering if you were even allowed to leave the room now.
“Of course, Ms. L/n. I can escort you to your shopping. You can leave your luggage in here.” You follow along with his words, hoping he was telling the truth that no one else was allowed in the room.
He walks a little in front of you and to the side. You opted to keep your duffle bag on your person as you had your wallet in the front pocket. You also wanted to put your snacks in the duffle so you didn’t lose them.
John follows your lead, making sure no one comes near you which has people looking your way, trying to figure out who you were. It was a little weird and made you a little anxious. Nonetheless, you found a little store that sold snacks and you even managed to find a nice-looking packaged sandwich and a small container of cut up apples, cantaloupe, grapes and banana that looked fresh. You also got a bottle of water and some juice. And a bag of cheez-its.
After that, you decided on trying to find a place to get some coffee, putting your things into your duffle. You only now realized you didn’t go through any kind of security.
“Do I need to go through security?” You turn to John as you walk out to the little shop.
“No ma’am.” Oh, well that seems weird to you.
“Uhm, well is there anywhere I can get a coffee before we head back to the lounge?” John nods before walking forward and to the left. You follow him and watch as he leads you to a Starbucks. You thank him before getting in line and ordering your normal coffee order and getting a breakfast sandwich and a chocolate chunk cookie.
With your drink and treats in hand, you make your way back to the lounge. You make yourself comfy in one of the couches by a table where you set your things down and move to organize your duffle bag so your snacks didn’t get squished.
Hearing your ringtone go off, you pick your phone up to see Namjoon calling.
“Hello?” You answer only for a chorus of greetings back.
“Good morning, baby. Did you make it okay?” Namjoon is the first to speak.
“Good uh, morning? And I am in the lounge now. I picked up some coffee and breakfast along with a couple of snacks for the flight. Uhm, can I ask why I was given an escort and a private lounge completely to myself? Or what even a private flight is?” You ask as you move your computer to the front side of your duffle, planning on watching some movies during the flight.
“Your safety is our number one concern. If we can’t be there, or have any of our security with you, then this is the next best thing.” Namjoon answers, a small hum to his words as if trying to soothe your worries.
“Why would I need your security though? Did you guys make an announcement about everything without talking to me?” You ask, putting your full attention on the voices coming from the speaker.
“No, baby. We would never. This is more….” Namjoon pauses, trying to come up with the best answer for you, only for Jimin to finish. “For our worry.”
“Yeah, Jimin. This is more to ease our own concerns and worries.” Namjoon thanks his younger mate for his quick thinking. You nod your head before realizing they cant see you.
“Oh, okay. Well, there isn’t anything to worry about. John is a good security person. I’m also currently by myself in the lounge while he waits outside. He said not even he could be in here with me.”
“Okay. We are glad. Oh. Huh?” Namjoon turns to Yoongi who is reaching for the phone.
“Are you wearing my outfit?” Yoongi asks you once he gets the phone causing the others to laugh. Yoongi’s possessive nature coming out as he hears you.
You laugh a little. “Yes, Yoongi. I am wearing the sweatshirt you sent me. It is really soft and comfy. I have the beanie and mask in my duffle bag carry-on that Hoseok sent me. I also have the rest of the things you all sent me in my carry-on.” You reassure him, but also everyone else. You didn’t have a favorite before; you wouldn’t have one now.
“Good girl.” You were thankful you were the only one in this room right now, because you almost screamed. Your entire face was hot and you were now hiding your head in your hands.
“I’m uh, going to go and eat my breakfast now. I will text you all before I get on the plane.” You say goodbye before anyone else can say anything to make you actually scream next.
Yoongi winces, his smirk never leaving his face as Jin smacks him across the chest.
“You can’t just say things like that!” Jin yells, a little upset for how quickly you hung up on them.
“Well, at least now we know she feels like we do.” Jungkook speaks up, shrugging his shoulders.
“What are you talking about?” Hoseok asks, everyone looking toward the youngest.
“She got flustered, didn’t you hear her moan a little.” Everyone freezes as they try to think back.
“So, our baby has a bit of a praise kink…that’s good to know.” Jin muses, smiling at the others at all the new possibilities.
-*-*-
You had just touched down in Tokyo, Japan and were waiting for the stewardess to let you know that you could get off the plane for your layover. You were told your luggage would stay on board, in the compartment up front they had placed it in when John had carried it on board. You hadn’t been able to get up yet but you already knew your joints were not going to be happy with you.
You could almost sense that you were going to have issues with your left hip especially. You had some issues getting comfortable with the angle of the seat at first, then after the nice stewardess showed you how to adjust the seat, you were able to get it into a nice and comfortable recline. But your body was not used to being in one position for so long.
You knew you could move during the flight, but you were terrified that the second you moved, the plane would crash and you would be the only one not strapped to your seat for safety. It was irrational and you knew it, but you were terrified of flying, which is why you were anxious about snacks and needing to make sure you had everything in your duffel bag while in the lounge.
“You can unbuckle now miss. We will be leaving in an hour so make sure to be back her by then, okay.” The nice stewardess who helped you before, Emilia, had come up and stood in front of your seat.
You unbuckled the seat, thanking her profusely before grabbing your duffle bag and moving to throw all your trash away. However, once you stood up, you almost immediately fell back into the seat.
“Oh my, Ms.! Are you okay?” Emilia rushed forward, moving to help you but you had to tell her to move back. Your hip was at an awkward angle and you knew that it had popped out.
“Ugh. This was not what I wanted.” You groan out as you try to apply pressure to your hip, gauging just how far it shifted out.
It took you several minutes to pop it back in and ask for Emilia to get you your cane. She handed it to you with a look of disbelief. Like she couldn’t believe you just did that by yourself. Once she saw how uncomfortable you were though, she realized she was staring.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Are you sure you are okay?” Emilia asks as you put some of your weight on your cane to get up. You just nod at her, trying to take deep breaths. You needed to go to the bathroom and refused to have someone help you sit on the toilet. Plus, this was your first time having this happen, and you knew you could do it.
“I’m okay, Emilia, I promise. I just need to walk a little and help my hip adjust.” You reassure her, despite the deep breaths you were taking as you walked. After a couple of steps you could feel the numbness setting in, making it a little easier to walk.
Once you made it to the bathroom, you decided you would have to explore the Tokyo airport at a different time. It was around one pm in Tokyo if the clock on the plane was correct. The time difference was definitely going to mess with you, that’s for sure.
You slowly made it back to your seat to see a little ice bag on the tray. You smile at the thought, knowing Emilia must have brought it over. You place one of the small pillows that came on the plane to the edge of the left side of your seat so you could prop the ice there before you sat down. You had to make sure the ice was where you needed it to be or it would do nothing but make you cold.
Once you got relaxed back into the reclined seat, your phone started ringing. You didn’t even look at the caller id before answering.
“He—”
“Baby! Are you alright? The stewardess called and told us what happened!” Namjoon’s voice called out, cutting you off. You couldn’t even get another word in before another voice started talking.
“The attendant says you should be here around three! We will be waiting for you! Jungkookie will carry you out.” Yoongi’s tone was frantic, almost making you wonder if this was how they were always going to handle your disability.
“Why can’t we be there for her! She is injured and our soulmate Joon! I don’t care what Sejin says! Jungkook, be ready to go in an hour.” Yoongi switches from English to Korean quicky, making you wonder if he remembered he was on the phone with you.
Jungkook is about to leave the room to go and put some pants on when Namjoon grabs his arm.
“No one is leaving to go anywhere. Yoongi-ah, we talked about this. We don’t want to overwhelm her. You know how insecure she is about this. How could she not be after all of those years thinking we didn’t want her. I know you want nothing more than to have her in your arms, safe and sound. It’s what we all want. But we cannot push her into this.” Namjoon’s words have them all pausing, Yoongi even sinking back down into the couch and handing the phone back to Namjoon, grumbling about ‘stupid thighs’.
“Sorry about that, baby. We are all just worried about you. We have a driver scheduled to pick you up from the airport and bring you to a hotel. We booked you there for a week. We wanted to give you time and knew you would probably be more comfortable there than in the dorms with us.” You were kind of shocked, expecting them to want you to stay with them. You knew from their actions that they probably wanted you to accept the bond, and it was just you being skeptical, but could anyone blame you?
