Chimney shrugs, “You’ve flirted with guys before. I definitely thought you had a thing for Eddie when he first joined the team. I never really gave it much thought. Whoever you love, you’re you. You’re Buck. You’re my brother.”

Look. Buck doesn’t know why okay? But he feels himself break like a dam.

“Shit! Did I say something wrong?” Chimney asks worriedly, placing a hand on Buck’s arm.

Buck shakes his head, “No. Not at all. I just… I haven’t told anyone. And it was kind of scary. Not that… that I’m bisexual, but… everything. I don’t know- know how to explain.”

“It’s okay,” Chimney assures him, “Hey, Buck. You don’t have to explain anything if you don’t want to, okay? I love you, Kid.”

Summary:

To the outside, Chimney seems fine. He is there for his friends and family when Buck temporarily dies and falls into a coma. He comforts them, is a shoulder to cry on. But then Buck wakes up and things go back to normal. Except... Chimney hasn't moved on. He can still feel Buck's lifeless body underneath his hands. And at some point, Chimney breaks.

Except Chimney keeps waking up in the middle of the night with a scream of Buck’s name on his lips. He keeps dreaming about Buck dying. A funeral. Buck’s lifeless body rotting away in the ground until his dark blonde curls are gone, his skin gone. Just a bunch of bones.

Maddie holds him when she's there. She's the only one who knows how Chimney feels. She hugs him, letting him bury his face in her neck as he cries.

He dreams of Kevin too. Kevin and Buck together. Sometimes Albert is there too. His three brothers. Three graves next to each other.

Here rest Howard Han's brothers because he couldn't save them.

I honestly was always good with Maddie and Chimney although I feel like their titles with marriage would feel more accurate because out of context “this is my boyfriend” feels too casual (this is where I think the term “partner” comes in handy not just for gender but also ambiguity for domestic relationships that are unmarried).

But I am honestly more excited with the idea of Chimney and Buck being official brothers instead of always having to put or imply “(honorary)” in front of it
