Every fic I read just has "he has a silver star, he'd never do anything illegal" and it makes me giggle so hard

genuinely I can't stop laughing at the fact that it's a canon buddie dynamic that eddie just goes around doing vaguely evil and illegal shit and buck follows him going surely this is all perfectly legally sound because eddie - my eddie, the paragon of goodness with a silver star - would never do anything illegal. but then again what else could I have expected from buck 'follows eddie diaz into what he suspects is a mob establishment with zero questions' buckley

i can see why buck would be jealous of the eddietommy friendship even as eddie’s best friend. knowing buck’s trauma of abandonment and the fact that eddie is probably his first best friend in life - except maddie (him and albert were good pals too, but definitely not on the buckeddie level) - it makes sense for him to freak out so much, even if we take his romantic feelings for eddie out of the equation

but wdym eddie started acting so weird around tommy only after buck started dating him. eddie, who didn’t mind making a new friend in the face of tommy because he and buck can have as many friends as they want. but who started unconsciously showing off and “claiming” buck in front of his new boyfriend. like, “i know him better than you do, bitch. we share a more profound bond and you’ll never get in the way of that.” why would you act like that around your best friend’s new partner, who was your new friend, who you even approved of??? and he did the same damn thing with taylor. and his face when buck told him that natalie sees him. and his “abby! his fiancée is abby! 🙄😡🥺”

like. he’s so terrified of losing buck to other people in a romantic sense, because he wants him all to himself

I was gonna make a post asking if other people also think Chris does the "well mom said no, so I guess I'll ask dad now" thing with Buck and Eddie but then I realized wait no, that's already established canon. When Chris was mad at Eddie he went to Buck (as opposed to say, Pepa's or abuela's) and when Eddie said they were taking a break from technology he asked Buck if they could go to his apartment. Even their in sync "No!" when asked if both parents can be the good cop. Buck and the Diazes have so many meaningful moments that cement them as a little three person family but nothing gets to me like that face Eddie makes at Buck after Chris asks to go to his house to play video games because that is peak "we need to he united front on this" parenting face.
