i know some people have the headcanon that DBK is a secret softie and i love that for him. he wants/feels he has to portray this big dark imposing firm leader figure. but also longs to have a deep bond with his child and do all the father-son/daughter things but isn't good about showing the softer side of himself, especially to his child. and a huge part of that is probably because redson is already an adult with different interests making it harder for DBK to bond with her now. plus he no doubt can't stand the idea that he's missed so much of their life. and that sadness and anger probably pop up whenever DBK looks at redson, and redson ends up misinterpreting it as him being disappointed with her a lot of the time.

he's just really bad at showing affection buuuut he finds ways. like i HIGHLY doubt the stubborn pridfull old bull would go threw with that food stall idea if he really truly didn't want to. just admit it bull king you just wanted to bond with your son over cooking because it was still an interest you both shared

HE LOVES REDSON AND THE FOOD STALL IS PROOF OF THAT. it's his uncontrollable anger that gets in the way.

So much fustration and anger over so many things can really change a person. The stress of everything and his overwhelming anger over everything definitly harms the way he treats redson. Same with pif.

The bull family is so interesting dude.

They love redson but it doesn't mean they can't hurt her.

I read three thirty to four on genus Datura on ao3 and it has the perfect interpretations of them in my mind.

With dbk. Dude. He loves redson, he loves him so much. He would level cities for his son. But issues arise. Grudges, anger. That gets in the way of love more then you'd think. It hurts the ones you love. And that's what happens between dbk and red.

Not to mention that other thing u mentioned about how he feels.guilt. God I just. Maaaaann

He's definitly a secret softie, put a baby in front of him and he CRUMBLES.

About your monkey trio comic! (my favorite thing ever btw) I noticed that redson tends to be alot more reciprocal to touch from mk, so I won't wondering if 1) spicy noodles would be in this comic as a ship and 2) if the two could have a moment together where he tells redson about the whole parents thing since redson also has some pretty on and off relationships in the beginning with his parents, kind of a bonding moment

Shipping is cute and all but can we talk about the fact that mk and mei are probably red son first ever friends

the first people he got close to outside his parents and let's be real his parents treated him awfully even though he's the one who freed his father it wasn't enough for them in the first season I think that's why he got attached to these two after they worked together

I don't think red son needs a lover he needs friends having people outside his parents was important for him to realise his not useless and doesn't need to prove it to his parents or anyone

and I think his parents realised later on that they were really cruel to him, his character and his relationship to the people around him is so much more then just shiping

Red son is really selfless and caring and brave and I hope we get more screen time of him in the next season
