At last we got to go to Burnham Beeches and see Rones ‘Empire’ installation. I knew I would enjoy it but it knocked my socks off. After seeing @r_o_n_e’s 2017 ‘The Omega Project’, May and I were very keen to see more of his work. Located in Sherbrooke, Burnham Beeches is an abandoned Art Deco mansion that has been turned in to Rone’s latest canvas for his 2019 exhibition, ‘Empire’. It’s The Great Gatsby mixed with The Shining and I can honestly say that I have never been so moved by a series of artwork. It’s a strange feeling that can’t really be described. I decided to depart with some hard earned dollars and purchased a print of one of my favourite rooms on show. I can’t wait to have it framed. Tickets are sold out but if you see one for sale I seriously encourage you to buy it.
