tl;dr life updates cause most of my irl yelling has been confined to twitter or DMs

as per my pinned, i've been in a bad burnout mostly creatively, so drawing and writing for myself has been kinda null for a few months-ish now outside some small outlets here and there (carrds, trying to pick up doing a twine project). socially i've been kinda floating around too, so if i've been sparse, im sorry ;;

a lot of my brain muncher has been work cause a bunch of things have come up ... namely finding out im paid 33% (not correct ik i just dont wanna do the exact math rn) less than most of the other designers lmao (which shocked even them and our design lead). i make ~$41k yearly, others are at ~$56k and average for designers is around ~$60k ... and my yearly performance is 8 months overdue where i'm probably not even gonna be able to argue my salary up to the average

obvs as a first job in the industry and mostly remote work (so no rent to pay) i took what i took, but it was kind of a slap to find that out

this is on top of our ceo deciding the resolution for our issues (which were brought up in a survey that was before we started fixing some of those issues already) is mandatory return to office 4 days a week from almost completely remote work (and the almost was voluntary to come into office). ill tell you right now, it's a shitty solution to our issues, and they're not compensating us for shit for travel time (aka 2 hours of my day will just be beating the train back and forth, and monthly payment of $200 for a pass where i live)

other game companies can do full remote or a choice of hybrid in how you want it :|

so, i've mostly been on low energy and just picking where my energy is going which is in games primarily to just not think abt stuff too much (yes yes star rail too), so my presence here and around ppl has been flimsy

im not lying down and taking it lmao dont worry abt that, i genuinely hope 30%+ of ppl leave or start leaving. old codger with his head up his arse and not listening to the ppl being like 'hey, this is not going to resolve our problems and will only cause more issues down the line'

Mx. Bunny Ears!!! Player character. The entire project is named after them. I barely ever draw them --- that is probably because they have no backstory whatsoever atm. To put things into perspective, Bunny Ears should be a game with a LOT of dialogue you can choose, letting you be nice or mean or whatever, so I don’t think i’ll ever make them a proper backstory - if i don’t decide im rolling with the “player is some kind of entity that possesed the player character” thing. Which i MIGHT do, ngl

Mr. Wolf eye is the first character you meet!! He is stupid <33 But to be fair he IS like a day old when you first talk to him. He immidiately goes “you are my mom now” and you have no other option than to let him follow you the entirety of the tutorial sequence. Think the ruins undertale. In the end of this sequence, this person shows up and the game calls her The Witch:

And she demands in the name of greater good that you give her Wolf Eye to “take care of” or “neutralize” or some shit. Saying that you don’t know anything about him and that he is dangerous. That there are things you can’t even imagine going on. Wolf And then you have the option to just give him up or fight her - she cannot be beaten btw, she just stuns you and when the screen stops being black, she is gone -- and Wolf Eye too.

So you just kinda continue with the game, meeting your new possible sidekick, this librarian fox,

and their biggest interest is politics and they will infodump to anyone willing to listen - and if you are the person, they will complain about the current king acting very weird, building a pickle factory in a protected forest without anyone agreeing to it first and being incredibly hostile to the beloved local church and. wow this is getting long. basically you agree to some shit and when you get to the king’s office,

He is very visibly somewhat connected to wolf eye, looking almost the same besides the markings and hair and the overall attitude. Also his name is Lion eye. Or tiger eye i cant remember rn they all have very stupid names jsafdkjsd. Also he wears animal ears and a tail when he is going like. Outside. Which is a little detail that. You know, everyone is that world is some kind of animal except the Eyes Family.

....at the same time though i do get very sensitive when faced w/ criticism even if its of the fair variety when its not phrased really gently for various reasons and i dont like that. especially since I have a tendency to not even talk to people about it. I’ll just immediately start distancing myself. also other than that i think overall I have a really high tolerance lvl but if you cross that line I hold a grudge like a motherfucker

cats! dogs are good too but cats are a lot easier for me to handle...and quieter generally but even when they’re loud cat sounds dont get to me quite as much as barks do

probably that you have to look at your accomplishments differently when you’re disabled or just struggling, to not be so down on yourself because its a fact that what might be a mole hill to someone else is a mountain to you and you have to judge yourself accordingly. Like maybe you weren’t able to clean the whole house, but washing the dishes and tidying your desk doesn’t usually get done but you did it. That that should be celebrated because while it would also feel good if you did more, you still did something and thats great all things considered.
