1 for clothes i don't really wear fancy stuff just like, everything is either thrifted, gifted, or my dad's, all my jewerly is also my family's, i think my clothes = pretty masculine, my jewerly and fragrance choices = pretty much feminine (if we want to gender up stuff to make things simpler) since it's my mom and grandma's necklaces and women perfumes (i think the "aesthetic" that is closer to this is grunge? but i'm not sure also the concept of aesthetics is so limited, like sometimes i make some effort about my style choices some other times i just dress all black and basic and go out and thats it)

Mike and Will literally share shoes (and Will might be sleeping in Mike's room) and might not be dating yet when they start dating they're gonna share a whole closet and flirt with each other about how good they look in each other's clothes and just being obnoxious (I will rewatch those scenes so many times) what if they're sharing/swapping shoes because it's the 80's and they're in a really homophobic and conservative town and if they want to give little hints that they're dating and want to openly show it (to at least their friends) they have to be subtle about it? and maybe when they're at home they share clothes without feeling like they have to be careful with how they act around each other and can be openly affectionate (like them in s2)

Serendipity

Serendipity is the occurrence of an unexpected and fortunate discovery that happens when you are looking for something else. It is the "happy or beautiful coincidence".

One of the most important serendipities in history is the discovery of penicillin, that happened when Fleming went on holiday and left behind a bacterial culture plate on which a fungus happened to be growing.

In the context of love, serendipity often manifests itself as meeting someone special in the most unexpected circumstances or finding love in someone unexpected. Perhaps you were expecting another thing to happen (like a strong friendship to grow?😏), but something else BEAUTIFUL occurred.

Jimin's Serendipity song is about a love that is born out of the unexpected and is so surprising that it is frightening.

It is very interesting to see that the song uses the concepts of destiny and serendipity (you are my penicillin), which are apparently opposed.

What we call "destiny" is a philosophical and existential concept that alludes to the belief that everything that happens in life happens inexorably and according to some kind of "plan". To believe in destiny is to believe that everything happening has some predetermined meaning and coherence, and that there is therefore little point in resisting it ("It was fate that led to this... that we crossed paths..., that we came this far... "🥰).

From the perspective of serendipity, what there is the happiness of having met in the midst of chaos, where it was highly unlikely that we would meet or spend enough time together to build a love story. There is no destiny, only the most beautiful coincidence.

I find interesting how the song mixed both philosophies. The lyrics talking about destiny, and what happened ...that must be "the providence of the universe"...

.. there’s a kind of “acceptance” that "It just had to be"... maybe because despite initial caution or opposition, there existed no alternative path for the souls involved but to inevitably fall in love.

Alright long but silly post, going into the reason why the furry versions are the animals they are. A few choices are influenced by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles v.s. Batman, some choices are already associated with the character (Catwoman, Penguin, etc.). Most choices are an uneven mix of visual, symbolic, and behavioral. So some have more thought put into them than others but it's all for fun.

Batman (Bruce Wayne) -Vampire bat

A pretty obvious choice. I think specifically a vampire bat is fitting, they are very stealthy and aware. They come built with the perfect tools for lapping blood and cause little harm (excluding diseases). Just as Batman always comes with what he needs and only causes as much damage as necessary. Bats are also social creatures and thrive in groups, so there is a bit of irony there. Bruce can put on a good face for the public and business but isolates himself and therefore goes against his nature. He craves family but keeps his loved ones at arm's length in fear of losing them.

Joker (John Doe) - Red-banded spitting cobra

This is a choice influenced by the TMNT v.s. Batman. Also haha Lego Batman clown snakes. I chose this because I'm tired of both snakes and clowns being seen as evil. John is already the way he is because both Sarsee and I agree clowns should be silly and whimsical instead of how more modern media portrays them as creepy and scary, which also includes the Joker. Snakes are my favorite animals. So keeping Joker as a cobra represents what we have set out to do with the au in the first place.

In terms of behavior, John acts mostly the opposite of what you would expect. Snakes are mostly solitary and overall not very social. John is a very outgoing person and extraverted, but he's social skills are stunned from both being autistic and his childhood. So not quite fitting in but he enjoys standing out. Though cobras are a more intelligent species of snake. John is very clever but most wouldn't guess that. As the Joker, John relies on the element of surprise and subverting your expectations. As a bonus spitting venom is similar to a clown's flower spraying water.

Two-Face (Harvey Dent) - Puma

A partial TMNT chose. Instead of just a cat, I went with a puma. Pumas are not classified as big cats but are the largest cat in North America. Despite not being a big cat their presence demands respect. Even when you do not see them if you are in their territory you would be wise to be careful. Pumas know how to pick their fights, taking on challenges with strategy and retreating when they know they are outmatched.

I think these things fit Harvey and Two-Face quite well. He may not be as high on the social ladder as say, Bruce, but he is no less of an important figure in his community. You know when he is in the room and you think about him when he isn't there. He is intelligent and strategic. He's never to be underestimated and most fear and or respect him. These things apply as a rogue or as a candidate. These strengths are what put a target on his back and thus becoming Two-Face. I also do not know enough about this but pumas are not as solitary as other cats. Which fit with Harvey's ambivert personality.

Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinzel) - Spotted Hyena

This one is also an obvious one I would think. Spotted hyenas are a matrical species, meaning the females are in charge. Harley as a character I think usually represents feminine strength at least in recent years. Hyenas are very strong, they take what they want and fiercely protect what is theirs. They have a nasty reputation but live in a pretty unforgiving environment. Hyenas actually do hunt and have to protect their prizes from animals like lions. They have good reason to be the way they are.

Harley is a pretty unpleasant person but she has her reasons. Having dealt with a lot throughout her life. Her actions come from a place of pain though ruthless. She is not satisfied with what she does at the end of the day. She knows she has a lot work to do and a lot to figure out. Scary as she is.

Poison Ivy (Pamela Isley)- Orchid mantis

Another animal associated with feminine power. Mantis are fierce and confident, they stand their ground even against other animals much bigger than they are. They are not very fast and can't fly very well, but are a top insect predator. They have no need to chase, just sit and wait until the opportunity to strike comes to them. Of course, they have the reputation of eating the head of their mates, but that's actually common for insects. Still fitting.

Ivy is a powerful person literally and personality-wise. She has incredible control of her environment as long as there are any plants around. She is beautiful and deadly. Anyone who can get close to her is very lucky. She's pretty content keeping to herself and her plants and is laid back when she is comfortable. She takes opportunities when they are presented to her with full force. Best stay on her good side and give her space. She makes a wonderful mantis.

Bane (Antonio Diego) - Grizzly bear

Bears are incredibly strong but it's not just brawn they have brain too. Bane is not just a brute, he knows how to use his strength well and is incredibly strategic. A bear can be a very scary animal but also fun to observe. Some find them cute, and some find them terrifying. Bane also comes off in a similar way, it just depends on what you know about him. He is someone you can have deep and philosophical conversations with but most would be too scared to approach him. Unfortunately, his addiction makes him unpredictable and behave in a way he would not want to. Bane does have a code he follows and will return the respect you give him. Just a bear will respect your space if you know how to behave in their territory.

Catwoman (Selina Kyle) - Domsitic long-hair cat

Yeah, Catwoman is meant to be a cat in person form so, I don't think there is much to explain. She comes and goes as she pleases and does what she wants. She likes to bother those with no interest in her. The whole shebang. Not bad but not good, just her own brand.

Mad Hatter (Jervis Tetch) - Arctic hare

Arctic hares are one of the largest species of hare. They mainly live alone but come together for warmth and mating. I'm still not too sure about this, I haven't found much on this yet but it seems like rabbits are much more territorially and aggressive than hares. Either way, most think Jervis is a rabbit and not a hare, because of his height and demeanor. Hares are often seen as crazy and generally have a wild reputation, and Jervis is pretty demure. This instead comes out as passion for the things he loves. However, if he is pushed too far all of his pent-up emotions and frustrations will come out in an explosive response. Despite his appearance, he's very fit and strong. He has metabolic issues that make it difficult to lose weight so in his efforts to lose it he instead makes himself stronger. A similar effect to powerlifters. I thought specifically an Arctic hare was fitting because of this reason, as an arctic animal it's incredibly important for them to gain weight to survive the harsh weather. Something that others believe including Jervis himself thinks is a weakness actually becomes a strength. He does become more comfortable with himself eventually, but he has a lot of trauma to overcome to fix his own self-image.

Riddler (Edward Nigma) - Domestic rat

Rats are very social and intelligent. Despite media depictions, they keep themselves clean and are very affectionate. Ed is very much an extrovert and hates being alone, though he can be overbearing at times he loves those close to him very much and gives as much as he takes. Rats are great at getting around being able to squeeze into most places and can tread water for a long time (ironically Ed cannot swim). Ed can also squirm his way into anything be it physically or finding information. Rats enjoy causing mischief and are often high-energy, they need a lot of enrichment. Ed is functioning at 100% and crashes to 0% once he's out of energy, he has to keep himself busy and do little evil genius tasks until he's completely exhausted himself.

Scarecrow (Jonathan Crane) - Milksnake

A pretty biased pick since I mentioned snakes are my favorite animal, and Scarecrow is my favorite rogue but I have a good reason for my choice. First of all, as someone raised in the South, I associate milk snakes (and therefore corn snakes and rat snakes) with the country. They can often be found on farms and are great pest control and that also makes me also associate them with scarecrows. Milksnakes mimic coral snakes to scare away predators. Jonathan does something similar and comes off as scary and intimating but for the sake of his own protection. Snakes really want to be left alone and so does Jonathan. Snakes are often misunderstood and seen as something evil (especially by some religious people), but they are anxious skittish creatures and will stay out of your way. The religious association is another reason I picked a snake. Most people assume the worst in Jonathan because of his appearance and aloof disposition. He's pretty tired of trying to prove them wrong and has convinced himself he can't be anything else. But know this, there is no such thing as an offensive snake there are only defensive snakes.

Music Meister (Darius Chapel) - Golden-breasted starling

This one is mostly a visual choice. Darius is a pretty boy so of course he should be a pretty bird. Starlings are also a songbird and incredible at mimicking sounds. Just as Darius is an incredible singer and has a wide range of expressing himself musically. I think starlings are sometimes seen as pests or nuisance, I've only heard that in passing. If that's true that fits with Darius. Some people find him annoying but he's a very pleasant person.

Polkadot man (Abner Krill) - Spotted newt

Spotted newts are poisonous and their spots and color advertise that. Just as Abner has dangerous spots. This is mainly the reason why I chose a newt for Abner. I think aposematism, when an animal is colorful because it is toxic, is a really cool thing that happens in nature. I couldn't pass up the chance. Newts are also very cute and humble animals so all the more reason.

Mr.Freeze (Viktor Fries) - Polar bear

Of course, Viktor is a polar bear. Polar bears are solitary animals, especially the males. They only need themselves, and can only afford to care for themselves in the environment they live in. Viktor is a very independent person. He's confident in his abilities and can do almost anything by himself. Nora is an arctic fox, I bring this up because arctic foxes often follow polar bears around. So they are a perfect match. Polar bears are very formidable, you do not want to get in Viktor's way. Though he may seem cold, he is a good person with a big heart.

The Penguin (Ozwald Cobblepot) - Emperor penguin

Yeah, penguin. Emperor penguins care very deeply for their families and don't much care for anyone else. They will brave harsh weather and dangerous waters all for the sake of their families. Oz does not like anyone besides his family. He'll go through any extreme he needs to, no questions asked. Just a cranky old man that wants to give his loved ones a good life.

I'm much better at expressing myself visually than verbally so I'm not sure if this was comprehensive enough. I don't feel like I got out what I had in my head properly. So please feel free to ask any questions. Also, most of these facts are from my memory and may be inaccurate, but I did my best to fact-check myself when I was unsure of something. Summary: You think Charles forgets something important!

You woke up from the usual 6am alarm. Usually you would just turn the other way as Charles gets up and ready for his morning workout, but today was your day. You weren’t a selfish person by any means but you absolutely loved your birthday. You loved getting the phone calls from relatives and friends, singing you happy birthday. Loved getting the presents from your parents, as they were always silly and something you would never think of getting. But most importantly you loved having Charles to yourself for the day. It wasn’t often that you got to spend a whole 24 hours with your boyfriend of 2 years, so a day like this was always special. 

As soon as you heard the annoying ring, you opened your eyes to the most beautiful sight. Charles' arm above his head, flexing as he fluttered open his hazy green eyes. His chest tanned and glowing from the sunrise peeking through the curtains. You started tracing your fingers across his exposed chest, not able to keep yourself from touching the beautiful man beside you.

“Good morning mon amour.” The raspiness of his morning voice sends shivers down your spine. 

“Good morning Cha.” You lean on your elbows to give your man a peck on his cute button nose. He smiles and moves his hands to rub your back. You two just stare at each other for a little bit, both thinking about how you are so lucky. 

“I have to get dressed before Andreas gets here.” You pout and give him your best puppy eyes. He just laughs and gives you a kiss before he moves to get out of bed and into the bathroom. 

You thought about how weird it was that he didn’t even say happy birthday to you, but you didn’t read too much into it as you began to think about what Charles has planned for you both today. Last year, he surprised you and flew you and your parents out to Paris and you guys had dinner in the Eiffel tower. You never been to Paris and you always expressed how badly you wanted to go to Charles. He was a hopeless romantic when it came to you. When you couldn’t make it to a race because of work, he always came back with flowers. If you were in the office he would often surprise you with lunch if he had time in between meetings. Your mind was running with all sorts of ideas of what could be the plans for the day. Maybe a picnic on the beach? A whole boat day? Maybe he is taking me out for a spa day, since I told him a couple of days ago that I wanted to go get massages with him!

Your creative mind came to a stop when you saw him walk out with the all black Puma workout attire. He smiles softly seeing you sitting up on the bed. He walks over to you to give you a kiss on the cheek. He grabs his socks from the drawer by the bedside, and starts putting his socks and shoes on. 

“After my workout I have a couple of meetings and then Carlos wants to have dinner together to discuss the upcoming season. You should call Isa and go out together today.” 

“Oh…. um okay.” You tried putting on your best fake smile, but how could he forget your birthday? You were angry but you didn’t want Charles to feel bad about forgetting so you had to suck it up. But even with your best fake smile on, Charles could see right through you.

“What's wrong mon ange?” He came up to you rubbing your arm. You sucked up all the tears threatening to fall, and muster a small smile. 

“Nothing Cha. I will call Isa, now go, you don’t want Andreas waiting too long.”

Isa came over about an hour ago and when you saw her walking through your apartment door you instantly started to cry thinking about your boyfriend's big screw up. Now you both were on the couch wrapped up in blankets drinking the overly expensive wine from your collection. 

“He is stupid Y/N……..Hey, I have an idea.” Isa wiggled her eyebrows and you knew that you were about to be in trouble.

The short, strapless,  tight red dress showcased your curves to perfection, your tanned legs looked long and soft with your silver strappy heels. Your makeup highlighted the features on your face and your lips looked so kissable with the sultry clear gloss. 

“Are you ready to go?” You gave Isa a tight smile and nodded. You wanted to have fun tonight and forget about your boyfriend's forgetfulness. 

Since Isa drove here, she offered to drive to the bar. You have driven past the bar before in the past so you found it weird that she was taking the long way. You also noticed that she was looking at her phone every minute, but you didn’t say anything as you were just thinking about how she must've been lost. She finally pulled up to the parking lot of the beachside bar and when she parked the car, she looked at you and smiled.

“Let's have some fun Y/N.” Isa stepped out of the car and you followed. You noticed how quiet the place seemed to be from the inside even though there was a good amount of cars parked outside. When you reached the door Isa made you look at her, and she fixed a couple of pieces of hair that had fallen in your face. She then smiled at you and opened the door. 

“SURPRISE!” You whipped your head to see that inside the bar had been a bunch of family and friends crowded around balloons and streamers. You were in shock, you covered your chest with your hand, taken back by the grand gesture. You looked around at everyone and noticed that most of them were your friends from the states that you haven’t seen in months. You ran towards them, squealing with joy. They gave you a group hug as you all laughed and swayed back and forth. Your friends let you go out of their embrace, noticing someone special had made their way. 

“Happy birthday mon amour.” You let the tears fall as you turned around to see his beautiful green eyes. You threw your arms around him and he immediately reciprocated the action. 

“I thought you forgot.” You whispered in his ear. 

“I could never forget the most special day of the year.” You laughed at his cheesiness. He continued on.

“I remember a couple of weeks ago you mentioned you wish you could see your friends from the states for your birthday. So I flew them out here as a surprise.” You hugged him even tighter, scared that if you spoke you would break down into happy tears. You couldn’t believe how you found a man that remembers and notices the little things. He was the most amazing man you have ever met, so when you pulled away from the hug you grabbed his face and gave him a kiss.

AN: After all the posts about Charles and A from this weekend, I got this idea. Honestly, I just care about that situation because I'm nosey but don't have any real interest in it, just wanted to write this idea that popped into my head. You were about to speak again when your "boyfriend" stood up swearing under his breath.

"Fine, whatever" he said before slamming the conference room door behind him.

Loraine let herself fall on the chair in front of you holding the bridge of her nose, it had been a long day and she was sick of it.

"Please, y/n, I wish I didn't have to do this either, but if you want to attend Wimbledon next year you're going to have to do this" She had been your pr agent for a little over a year now, and you had become friends, but this situation was idiotic.

"I just don't get it, why we couldn't do it with one of my friends? It would've been easier, at least they care about me, this guy couldn't care less, yesterday when we rode together to the track he said two words to me, "the seatbelt" and then complete silence the whole fucking ride"

"Yeah, well, the day he tried to invite you to train together you rejected him saying you were a real athlete and you didn't need him to get in the way of actual training"

You bit your cheek at the memory, in your defense, you were pretty hungover that morning and couldn't be bothered with this pr shit.

"Please?" Loraine looked at you with pleading eyes.

"Ugh, I'll try but I'm still not ok with this"

"I don't like you right now" You stood up and walked to Charle's driver's room.

You weren't attracted to him and had no interest in having an actual relationship with the driver but his words felt like a cold punch to your chest, you couldn't be that bad, could you? You didn't want to hear any more of his rant and knocked on his door taking a deep breath trying to pretend you hadn't heard a thing.

"Come in" his dry voice made your skin crawl.

"Hi, can we talk?" His features softened, he feared you had heard him.

"I'll meet you in the garage" Andrea stood up and gave you a smile when he walked past you.

"Please" Charles stood up signaling for you to take a seat on the small sofa he had been sitting on.

"I think there's no way out of this"

"Seems like it" He leaned against the door in front of you.

"Look, I can't promise I won't say mean things, that's kind of my thing, but I will try to be nicer so we can make this work, ok?"

"I know I haven't been the best either and I'm so sorry about my behavior yesterday, I will try to do my best too"

"Sounds like a plan" You tried to give him an honest smile that probably looked more creepy than friendly but you were trying.

From that day on you two kept your word, you started easy and training seemed to be the one thing you had in common. But your gym selfies with Charles "accidentally" in the back didn't seem to convince the media your relationship was real, so you took it up a notch and started having date nights, he took you to his favorite restaurants in Monaco and the different cities during the GP's, and you tried to teach him how to cook, always uploading "candid" pics where your stuff and his were visible in the back this new plan seemed to be working little by little.

It was "date night" at your place and you were sitting on your couch scrolling through TikTok waiting on Charles when another "Charles and Y/n" edit popped up, you would usually scroll past them since you had no interest in what people had to say, if Loraine was happy it meant everything was good, but for some reason you let it play, photos of you and him musicalized with some taylor swift song playing in the back, they were mostly pictures of the beginning of the "relationship", you walking a couple steps away from him, sitting all alone inside the garage or the Ferrari hospitality and some others of you and Charles with a sour face on the way in and out the track, this pictures where surrounded by mean texts, and as if it wasn't enough, you clicked on the comments, they were even worse than the one lines, half of them claiming this was fake, the other half saying how ugly, boring, tacky and unworthy of him you seemed to be and juts a couple of them supporting the relationship.

A knock on the door startled you, you turned to look at the door as a pretty loaded Charles entered the apartment, you had given him a spare key to your place since him having to wait downstairs for you didn't seem very couple-like.

"Hi! Are you ready for the best fake date...what's wrong?" he asked worried when he saw the pained look on your face.

"Um, nothing, hi, you're early" He left the grocery bags on the kitchen counter and walked towards the sofa.

"What happened?" he asked steadily.

"Nothing, I'm fine"

"Let me see" he placed his hand in front of you and you immediately understood what he meant.

"Charles..."

"Please" If you had learned something from him this last couple of months was that he was stubborn as fuck and fighting him was pointless, so you ended up unlocking your phone and passing it to him. He looked at the screen and immediately a disgusted look covered his face.

"Why are you watching this?"

"I don't know, I usually don't but... I don't know"

"You know they're just talking out of anger and jealousy, right?"

"Well, you were on their side a couple of months ago, remember?"

"I've apologized about that, I was a dick"

"I know, and I know it's dumb that stupid comments affect me that much, I might be hormonal or something"

"Y/n, look" He threw the phone to the side and squatted in front of you taking your hands in his "This might be a fake relationship but I do care about you, and I don't want you to ever feel bad about what people say online, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make this work, but you need to promise me that you won't let this kind of people get to you, I won't keep with this if what my fans say hurts you, it's not worth it."

You felt your eyes start watering and you swallowed the knot that had formed in your throat before answering him.

"Ok, I promise" you said in a low whisper.

"Good" He let go of your hands, he stood up pulling you up with him to hug you hard against his chest. "Don't let them hurt you" he said against your hair and then kissed your forehead. "Let's go, we have pasta to make"

He pulled you to the kitchen and started arranging all the ingredients.

"Instagram time" he said as he set his phone against a vase and took a picture of you for his social media.

You helped him with the dishes and then went to show him his room, he had never stayed the night, normally he would sneak out of your apartment and you would do the same when you went to his, but after the amazing night you have had, him staying seemed like a good way to finish it off.

"Here, need anything else?" You said leaving a towel on the bed.

"Thanks" you hugged him and he hugged you back.

"I won't" He kissed your head and you went to your room.

The next day you landed in Suzuka and it felt as if you had shifted realities, the fans were being nicer and more respectful, and some of them even brought gifts for you, maybe the plan was finally working.

The remaining months went by easily, and you and Charles developed a nice friendship.

"How do you feel?" Charles asked from the little bench inside your locker room.

"I'm shitting myself" Your statement made him laugh, he had become a big fan of your bluntness.

"You're going to be amazing, I know" he stood up and hugged you.

"Hello, am I interrupting?" Pierre peeked through the door, a white rose in his hand.

"Baby! you made it" You rushed to the door and hugged the French driver.

A month or two after the scolding session with Loraine you started hanging out with Charle's friends and he started hanging out with yours, one of those days you met his best friend Pierre, and you hit it off right away, it was crazy how perfect you were for each other. You knew it was going to be madness the moment you broke it off with Charles and announced your relationship with Pierre, but you couldn't care less, by then you would have had win Wimbledon and shown how talented you were, so who cares what the media and the fans thought.

"Y/n, you have one minute" your trainer said from outside the locker room.

"You can do it" Pierre kissed you softly

"Thanks, baby" You kissed his nose and turned to look at Charles

You peek over your boyfriend's shoulder, watching him pour the milk for his cereal. Your brows ceas into a frown as you notice his actions. You nudge his arm and say,"Did you just do what I saw?"

Ni-Ki turns his head to look at you and chuckles."Do what?"

You point at his cereal bowl in an accusing way."Did you just pour your milk before cereal?"

Ni-Ki laughs at your mock seriousness and grins in a mischievous way."What if I did, Love? You can't do anything about it."

You look at him with wide eyes and say in a dramatic tone,"Only Psychopaths pour their milk before the cereal!"

Ni-Ki bursts out laughing and shakes his head. He pokes your cheek and Says,"Is that so? Then I'm a Psychopath. I'm content with my milk before cereal. Who even likes soggy, Milky cereal? It takes all three crunchiness away!"

You grin at him."Good, because I'm also a Psychopath! I also pour my milk before my cereal!"

You just flash him an innocent smile, which prompts him to take a spoonful of his cereal - which is now cold and soggy for being ignored for long - and puts it in your mouth.Your eyes widen, and you try to fight back to no avail. The humour in the situation and the laughter of your boyfriend causes you to laugh also and slightly choke on the cereal, a bit of the milk coming out of your nose. He laughs even harder when he sees that.

You playfully hit him in the chest and laugh."Hey! Cereal Killers are supposed to kill Cereals, not the other way around! I'm not meant to be killed by Cereals! How dare you betray me, your own kind!"

Ni-Ki wheezes from laughing so hard and leans against the kitchen counter, causing the cereal bowl to fall and smear the soggy and cold cereal everywhere.

There's a palpable silence between you two as you guys stare at each other without fluttering an eyelash, before bursting into a fit of laughs and giggles.

You point at him."Clean up, Ducky."

He pouts at you and protests instantly,"Hey! I'm not a Duck! I'm a Puma!"

You chuckle and tease him,"Whatever you say, Ducky. Now clean up."

He pouts at you and grabs the cleaning supplies to clean the mess up. Seeing his dramatic antics, you can't help chuckling and joining him in cleaning. You kiss him, which instantly makes his pout go away and a big smile Breaks on his face.

After cleaning, Ni-Ki pulls you into his room. Before you even knew it, you were being wrapped up in his arms and pulled under the sheets. He cuddles you close to his chest, and a chuckle escapes your lips.

You boop his nose."It was supposed to be my turn, Ducky."

And just like that, the pout is back on his face.

He whines,"It's Puma! And please? This once?"You chuckle at kiss his nose."Okay, Ducky."

As time goes on with you two teasing each other and just enjoying each other's warmth, you guys fall asleep. It is a cute sight to behold, two teenagers cuddling under the slightly discarded blanket with the afternoon sun's rays falling on them.

Six boys watched all this unfold before their eyes. After the two had fallen asleep, the oldest, Heeseung looked to see the others talking in hushed tones and giggling. It has become like a routine for them to watch the couple everyday with their cute antics.Heeseung smiles and puts a finger on his lips. He says,"Shhhh...Let them sleep. Let's go."

Let's be real here. ⭐ big brands sponsors : Petronas, IWC Schaffhausen, SAP, HPE, and more are gained through MB's connection with the companies. There are certain parts where an individual plays its part but it's not the key. Sponsors are not like fans. You cannot downplay the concept of sponsors to just "oh they're here for a certain individual" (I don't hate but this goes for everyone including George Russell). Why am I saying that? Because sponsors are putting stakes in said company, they are putting money in the company. That money is an investment and they are not just 1 dollar or 10 dollars. It involves MILLIONS of dollars. Tenths. Hundreds. These sponsors are not babies, they know the company they're going to invest in and they won't just be there just because "someone's popular! let's sponsor it". If you're a 'marketing person' and you have this mindset, go back to marketing class and don't forget to take PR classes as well.

I do not deny the fact that most of Mercedes' fanbase are made up of one type of fan but to suggest that the company does not have a brand loyalty or simply that their value will drop by the end of someone leaving is simply ridiculous. If we're talking about a fraud paper company, yes. But we're talking here about Mercedes. MERCEDES. Their brand value, brand loyalty will not fall or suffer as hard as these people exaggerate. It is ridiculous.

About the "they are pushing more of George Russell", Lewis Hamilton got involved in Mercedes AMG campaigns as well ever since he announced his departure (AMG launch in China, AMG uncovered, Concept car release in Monaco) and more main sponsors promotional content (SAP, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, IWC Schaffhausen). We all know Lewis doesn't do the type of tiktok contents George do but that doesn't mean he is sidelined. He does his own portion of PR work that is suited to what he usually does and what he likes to do. Saying that "Mercedes did blah blah so fans can like George more" is stupid. A) A driver is leaving in 2025, why wouldn't they push their other driver more? B) George Russell has done a lot of PR work since 2022 and 2023 (I did research about it for my paper and I got the list) so stop bullshitting if you do no research and know nothing.

"The (PR) transition has been rough" There is no the overexaggerated transition like this person mentioned. George and Lewis both had their own PR promotional styles and directions in which Mercedes divides them equally based on their personal image. This has been done since 2022, 2023.

This person acts like a driver can't leave their team and a team will crumble without said driver. They overexaggerate things that are not real? Like? Okay drivers come and go. Chapter 20- The Next Day

I woke up the next morning at about 8 and started to reminisce about last night.

I can't believe that happened. I doubt know what came over me but I don't regret it at all.

I turned and looked beside me and saw that I was all alone but I wasn't surprised. I know that Hoodie is a busy person being the actual Death and all so I didn't expect him to be here anyway. Thank God it's Saturday and I don't have to go to that hell hole called school or I would've definitely been ditching again today. I got up, grabbed my towel on the end of the bed, and headed to the restroom for a quick shower.

I placed my towel on the sink and turned on my playlist, putting it on shuffle, and hopped in the shower. In Your Eyes by Snoh Aalegra came on and I started to sing along.

Some days are easier to fake it I find it hard to think when you're brought up I know it takes a heart to break it (yeah) But you took that and some more when you gave up♪

By the time I got out the shower, I had sang at least three songs in my mini concert. I grabbed my towel off the sink and wrapped it around me before wiping the condensation off the mirror. I don't know why my reflection caused me to gasp, but it sure in the fuck did. I mean, I know he was sucking on my skin pretty good last night but I wasn't expecting my neck to look all bit up like this. You could barely see any of my brown skin, I think I count like 10 and that's just on my upper neck area alone. My chest area is a whole another level but what can I say, it felt good in the moment. I lightly touched one and winced.

Yep, glad there's no school today because I'd be damned if I have to cover all of these up.

I stopped staring at my neck long enough to wash my face and brush my teeth and then went to my room to get dressed. I peeked at my phone real quick and I'm glad I did because Jungkook texted me saying that he was gonna come over to hang out at 9 ten minutes ago. Well its currently 8:45 so I better hurry up. i quickly put on some lotion and ran to my closet. I grabbed my black crop top turtle neck and some distressed shorts. I put my hair into a messy bun and put on some hoops.

By the time I slid my puma slides on, i heard the door bell ring. I ran down the stairs and swung open the door, being greeted by a similarly dressed Jungkook. I scanned him from head toe; he was wearing a black turtle neck of his own but his was paired with black dress pants and dress shoes. He was even wearing a pair of glasses to top it off.

He looks like he walked straight out of a kdrama, cue the internal fangirling. Is it hot out here or is it just me cause damnnnnn.

I cleared my throat when I noticed that he was eyeing me up and down too. I moved out of the way to let him in and he slid by me. As soon as I closed the door and turned around, I was pinned against it and was met by his lips crashing on mine. I was taken back at first but melted into the kiss. Just as I started to get deeper into it, he pulled back and gave me a cute bunny grin.

He pulled out his phone

I giggled, "It's ok, you're looking pretty good today yourself. You weren't peeping in on me while I was getting dressed this morning," I asked jokingly.

He shook his head

:lol nope but what a coincidence huh

I shook my head," Haha yea what's the chances huh. Well, are you hungry? I could make us something."

:actually that's why I came over here. I wanted to see if you wanted to go out for breakfast.

"Yeah, I'm down. just let me feed and walk Poco real quick and we can go. You can have a seat while I'm gone, he usually doesn't take too long in the morning." I said going to get Poco out his crate.

With all that happened last night I'm glad that Poco was here. I don't know what I would've done if I was just here alone. As soon as I put his dry food in his bowl, I heard his crate open and next thing I knew I was almost toppled by him.

He tried to lick my face but I lightly pushed him away, laughing at his antics. "Poco chill. Morning breath is real kid. Here let's take you for a walk and then you can come and eat."

I went and grabbed his leash from the key ring and told Jungkook that we would be right back. We went down our usual route which included walking past Carter's house. Just my luck he was sitting outside on the porch but he was so engrossed into his phone , he didn't notice us walk past.

Poco did his business and we turned around to head back home. This time though, Carter was looking up and we caught eyes but I diverted mine. I quickly walked to my front door and went to open it, fumbling with key a little out of nervousness. I heard Poco start growling and I glanced over my shoulder and saw that Carter had crossed the street and was making his way towards us. His steps faltered when Poco barked at him. 

"Hey can we talk real fast?" I heard him ask.

I let out a small sigh as I turned around to face him. He didn't look too good with bags under his eyes, showing a lack of sleep. I was about to ask him what was wrong when I saw him glance behind me with a weird look on his face. I turned around to see Jungkook standing behind me.

How did I not hear the door open?

I expected to see Jungkook glaring at Carter but instead he had a twisted smirk on his face. I slightly elbowed him and he looked down at me, smirk vanishing. He opened the door wider for me to go past. I stayed put and turned to look back at Carter but Jungkook grabbed me by the shoulder and guided me into the house. I tried to fight his grip but it was strong as I also tried to push past him. He turned me around to face him and I was met with a harsh glare. I took a step back in shock at his behavior and his eyes softened at my movements. I shook his hands off of me and yelled out to Carters, "I'll talk to you later," before I walked away from them both. I released Poco from his leash and he immediately ran to his food and drink bowls.

I heard the front door close behind me as I walked into the kitchen for something to drink. By the time I started to drink my apple juice, Jungkook was in the kitchen looking apologetic. I ignored him and continued to drink until he was ready to actually apologize.

He finally pulled out his phone and started typing.

: I'm sorry if I scared you and for glaring at you. I just don't like that boy

I shrugged my shoulders, "I understand that you don't like him but it looked like wanted to say something to me but then you stopped him with your aura."

: my aura?

"Yes. Your aura was coming off as aggressive as fuck even I could tell and it wasn't even directed at me at first. I wanted to hear what he had to say. I can fight my own battles Jungkook, I don't need your help."

I saw his jaw clench, : I never said that you needed my help but as your boyfriend it's my duty to protect you and that means from anyone 

My eyes widened slightly, "Boyfriend? When did you become my boyfriend? I don't remember you asking me out?"

It was his turn to shrug, : didn't need to. Last night solidified our relationship

"Last night?" I asked confused. "What are you talking about ?"

He smirked and tilted his head, : like you don't know

The fuck is he talking about? Wait, it can't be. Is he-

He patted his hand against the counter, tearing me out of my thoughts : we kissed last night remember after we spent all day together too

I nodded my head in somewhat understanding, "Ohhhhk, well that doesn't mean that we're dating. You didn't even ask me out."

He smiled and leaned against the counter, :well then if I just did. Be my girlfriend?

Should I say yes? I don't know? Hoodie is always going to be in the picture and I don't know if I should subject Jungkook to Hoodie's wrath buttttttt I also really like Jungkook too.

He snapped his fingers before shaking his head, : how about we see how breakfast goes and then you can tell me then?

I nodded in agreement, "Sure, let's go."

I said goodbye to Poco and made sure I locked the door. I got ready to head to my car when I noticed another car next to mine in the driveway. It was a black 2023 Mercedes Benz EQS- class.

This car isn't even out yet and this person already has one. Was it there when I took Poco for a walk earlier?

I just shrugged it off and walked up to the driver's side and saw Jungkook grinning at me before he rolled down the window.

"Well I can see that you got your car." I said.

He nodded his head and motioned for me to get in. I quickly headed to the passenger side and climbed in. When I fastened my seatbelt, he shifted into gear and took off.

"This car isn't even out yet, how'd you get so lucky?"

He just shrugged in response.

"Hmm, I was looking at it for if I wanted an upgrade but I saw how expensive it was and I didn't feel right buying a car for what I could spend on a house." I started to run my fingers across the upholstery, "I like these seats, especially the color of them. The whole interior really, my favorite colors are black and purple."

I turned to look at him when he didn't respond but then remembered that he doesn't talk. Talk about face palm.

He reached over and grabbed my hand, lacing my fingers with his. He brought our intertwined hands up to his mouth and kiss them. Woah if I was any lighter, I'd be red as Rudolph's nose.

I cleared my throat, "Is your Bluetooth connected to the radio?"

He nodded his head yes and nodded towards the radio dial. I reached over and turned it on, hearing GOT7's NaNaNa start playing through the speakers.

I gasped, "You listen to GOT7 now?! Look at me rubbing off on you," I said jamming to the song.

He looked over at me and smiled before turning his attention back to the road. I had my little jam session and I gotta say his music taste is on point. It's almost like he got one of my playlists on his phone. Kehlani, Audrey Nuna, and JoJo came on and by the time we pulled up to our destination, I didn't even want to get out of the car.

When he parked the car, he turned and looked at me before reaching over to me. I closed my eyes in anticipation of a kiss but was thrown off when I heard my seatbelt unlatch. I opened my eyes and saw he was still in close proximity to my face and was trying to hold his laughter. I rolled my eyes and pushed his chest but he didn't budge. He leaned forward and pecked me on the lips causing me to break out into a huge smile.

I felt my cheeks getting hot and started to fan myself to cool them down. He pecked me again this time on my cheek and then leaned back to undo his own seatbelt. With burning cheeks, I hurried and got out of the car. I took in our surroundings and looked at the restaurant he brought us to. It looked like a nice place from the outside, from what I could tell so far. Hopefully their food is good.

"The Hoodied Figure, that's a weird name for a breakfast place," I said reading the sign. Jungkook grabbed my hand and took me up to the entrance. He opened the door and motioned for me to go in first.

"What a gentleman," I said, lightly brushing against him as I went in. I walked up to the unmanned hostess station and waited for them. I felt Jungkook come up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and leaning his head on top of mine. I placed my hands on top of his and we started to lightly sway to nonexistent music.

I took in the decor and I have to say whoever decorated this place has good taste. It looks like your typical diner but with a twist, everything is dark. From the black tile on the floor, all the way to the black chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The only pop of color is the waiters outfits which are blood red.

After a couple minutes, the hostess finally came up to us. She was pretty, brunette with green eyes and a slim body. I can already see how this is going to go because she barely glanced at me but of course Jungkook had all her attention.

"How many?" She asked, staring into his soul.

I waved my hand in her face to get her attention and she looked at me like I was shit on the bottom of her shoe.

"Two, obviously ma'am. And if you couldn't tell he's with me but I don't see how you couldn't given that his arms are literally around me," I said sickly sweet with a forced smile on my face.

She looked me up and down and rolled her eyes. "Table or booth," she asked.

"Booth," I said glaring at her. She mirrored my expression while slightly rolling her eyes, and turned to take us to our booth.

As I was sliding into the booth, she slammed my menu on the table and lightly placed Jungkook's down. Oh so this bitch wants to fight.

I cracked my neck and was about to go the fuck off on her until Jungkook placed his hand on top of mine and shook his head no. I rolled my eyes and decided that mean mugging her would work for now but she has one more time before I fuck her up.

"What can I get you to drink," she asked Jungkook twirling her hair around her finger.

He just blankly stared at her and then looked over at me to answer her.

"He'll take a water with no ice and the same for me." I said.

She snapped her head to look at me, disgust emitting from her aura, "Um, I was talking to him not you. He can speak for himself, he doesn't need you."

This time I didn't even bother to put on a fake smile when I responded, "First of all, I don't care who you think that you are but you have one more time to talk to me like you are crazy and I will fuck you up. Second, he's mute meaning he doesn't speak so yeah he does need me to speak for him. And lastly, you're the hostess anyways, why are you over here taking drink orders? So if I were you I would go back to my post before I get the manager called on me for being rude to a customer. And while you're at it, go ahead and call our actual server over here since you have nothing to do."

She looked taken back but quickly fixed her face and finally walked away. I watched her storm off and then turned my attention back to Jungkook who just looked amused.

"What?" I asked a little harshly.

He held up his hands in surrender before pulling out his phone. :easy there tigress, I mean no harm lol

"Sorry," I mumbled , "She just pissed me off with her bony ass." I crossed my arms and leaned back in irritation.

"Yes," I said throwing my hands up dramatically, "I knew I wasn't the only one who thought so."

"Have you ever been here before?" I asked.

He nodded his head, :when I first got here I came to this place and I've kinda made it my spot. The food here is pretty good, you'll like it.

"Hmm well if it is good then I'll definitely have to come more often."

I looked up at him and he winked at me. I smiled and shook my head, giggling. I was about to respond when our waiter arrived.

"Hello I'm Taehyung but you can just call me Tae, I'll be your server today. What can I get you guys started off with, any appetizers or drinks?"

"Sorry I didn't even look at the menu yet but we'll both take a water with no ice," I said looking up and seeing a familiar face.

It was the blonde from the diner the other day. He works here? I took in his appearance and I just have to ask God why he keeps toying with me and my emotions, bringing all these good looking men into my vicinity.

I guess he could tell that I was lowkey checking him out because he gave me a big smile, " I know you don't I?" he asked me.

I shook my head slightly, "No do you?"

He tapped his chin and then snapped his fingers in recognition, "Yeah you were at the diner yesterday," he looked over at Jungkook, "with loverboy here too. Sorry that we stole him for a few minutes, just needed to talk to him about something."

"Oh about what?" I asked.

He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, "Oh nothing for you to worry about, Mahj. Just work stuff."

I shook my head in confusion, "What do you mean work and how do you know my name?"

I turned to look at Jungkook who looked like he was about to blow a fuse, "You guys work together?"

Taehyung read the message too and laughed, placing his hand on Jungkook's shoulder, "Somewhat? I'm offended friend. We work together almost every day. Well I mean when he's not busy doing other things and like I said we're friends."

Jungkook threw Taehyung's hand off his shoulder and gave him a death glare. I could see Taehyung's face smile falter a little from his gaze but when he looked back at me, it was back to a thousand watt smile.

"I'll be back with your drinks," he said before heading away.

I glanced at Jungkook and it looked like he was still fuming. I reached over to grab his hand but I yelped when it felt like his hand was on fire. I blew on my hand and made eye contact with an apologetic him.

:sorry. Sometimes I just run hot when I get worked up. Is your hand ok?

He reached out to touch it but I just pulled it closer to me.

"Yes my hand is fine just a little hot is all. What type of work do you and Taehyung do?"

He looked hesitant to answer but he still started to type : we're in the business of picking up people

"What do you mean picking up people? Like y'all drive Uber or something?"

: haha not necessarily but I guess you can compare it to that but most of our "customers" aren't happy to be catching a ride

"Must pay really well huh Mr. exclusive car." I said jokingly.

He cracked a smile and nodded, : money means nothing to me. Anything you want I can make it happen

I was about to respond when Taehyung came back with our drinks. He placed them down gently and then pulled out his notepad.

"You guys ready to order?" he asked.

I smiled sheepishly, " I actually never looked over the menu still but what do you recommend?"

"Well if you're into eggs, you should get the egg overload. It comes with the cheesiest eggs you've ever had with French toast and bacon."

"Ok, I'll take that. Jungkook do you know what you want?" I asked turning to him.

Before he could type, Taehyung beat him to it, "Oh I already know what he likes to get. Remember we work together," he said winking.

I saw Jungkook's and eye twitch but he didn't make a move. Taehyung took our menus and headed to go put in our order.

I started to look around some more to people watch. I turned my head towards the kitchen that was to my left and locked eyes with someone who I would rather not see sitting at the bar.

Jimin.

The second we locked eyes he put a weird smirk on his face.

What the hell is he doing here?

I guess I was staring at him because Jungkook turned to see who I was looking at. Jimin glanced at Jungkook shortly just to wink at Jungkook and then stared at me again. I felt uncomfortable under his gaze and quickly adverted my eyes.

God's definitely got to be playing with me.

I could see him advancing from my peripheral and pretended like I was very interested in my nails.

There was a light knock on the table before I heard a throat clear. "Hey Mahj and Jungkook right? I didn't expect to see you two here, have you been here before?" Jimin asked.

"No this is my first time," I said keeping my eyes locked on the table, "Just wanted some breakfast you know."

Jimin placed his hand on my chin and turned my head towards him. He smiled gently and said, "There's those pretty eyes. Why are you trying to hide your gaze from mine? Aren't I one of your boyfriends?"

I slapped his hand off of my face and glared, "Well why would I want to look at someone who tried to break into my house last night and threatened to kill me? And consider your boyfriend card revoked."

He had the audacity to look confused, "What are you talking about? I don't even know where you live so how could I have been at your house last night?"

Now it was my turn to be confused, "Jimin, it was clearly you outside of my house last night. There's no way it could've been anyone else."

He shook his head no and just as he was about to speak Taehyung approached with our food.

"Hey Jimin," he said placing our food on the table and faced Jimin, "I'm surprised you're up this early given how late we were out last night. I barely made it in myself."

I whipped my head towards Taehyung, "Wait, you guys were out last night? Together?"

He nodded slowly, "Yeah we went to a bar and then to a house party," he quirked his eyebrow up, "Why?"

"She claims that I was outside her house last night trying to break in and kill her. Which is crazy because I don't even know where she lives and I would never do that even if I did." Jimin said.

"Huh well do you want to see pictures from last night to prove his innocence?" Taehyung asked.

"Yes," I said.

Taehyung pulled his phone out of his back pocket and unlocked, proceeding to open up his photos and hand it to me.

"Swipe left and you can see all the pics from our night."

I scrolled through the pictures and saw that their story oddly added up. There's pictures of them in a bar and at someone's party, each of them time stamped within the window that Jimin was outside my house last night.

I looked up at Jimin and mumbled an apology before handing Taehyung back his phone.

Jimin patted my head, careful not to mess up my bun, and said, "I forgive you. I know our last encounter wasn't all that pleasant and I might've scared you but I was just doing what I was-". He stopped talking to curse and reach down to rub his ankle, glaring at Jungkook who was staring at me.

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I'm sorry for acting out of character yesterday." Jimin said.

"It's fine, I guess. Sorry I accused you of doing that. Maybe it was someone else," I said placing my head in my hands in confusion.

"Hey it's ok. Anyway enjoy your breakfast you guys. Come on Tae, I need some coffee." Jimin said walking away, pulling Taehyung away with him.

I glanced down at my now cold eggs and got trapped in my thoughts.

If it was Jimin outside of my house last night then who was it? And if it was just my mind playing tricks on me, then was last night in the tub a figment of my imagination too? But it makes no sense because Hoodie was clearly there last night and the banging and the screaming. And it was clearly Jim-

I was torn out of my thoughts by a caress of my hand. I looked up to see Jungkook looking at me with concern in his eyes.

:hey don't let them ruin our day. Eat before your food gets too cold

"Ok," I said trying to clear my mind. "You're right , let's just enjoy this day. You know you look really good in those glasses. I've been meaning to tell you since this morning."

Jimin poked Taehyung's chest, "You're the one who kept going on and on about how we work together and shit."

Taehyung pushed Jimin's hand off of his chest, "Yah like you weren't half ass apologizing for something you actually did do and were lowkey dropping hints about it."

Jimin put his hands up in surrender, "Hey like I told her, I'm just doing what I am told. And good think he told us to actually take some pictures to show her proof or we would've been fucked."

Taehyung nodded in agreement, "Yeah I am too. Whatever he has planned next I hope she's ready for because this is light work compared to what he could do."

Jimin sighed and looked over at Mahj who was flirting with Jungkook, "Yeah whatever his master plan is, I hope they're both ready for it."

PJO, Disney, and Palestine

I'm seeing some nonsense in the PJO fandom rn about how to support Palestine. And, though I'm by no means an expert, I am super super done seeing all the nastiness and bad takes. So I'm gonna try to clear up some confusion.

Long post ahead, bear with me <3

First, let me be real clear: Free Palestine.

I'm not getting into it more than that. You either know already or should know about the ongoing genocide. If you don't know, there are plenty of resources available.

Obviously, we should all be doing everything we can to support Palestine. There are lots of ways to do this. One of those ways is to observe boycotts called for by the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement.

BDS has a policy on Disney. But it does not mean what most of this fandom thinks it means.

Here is the official list of BDS targets as of three days ago (1/17/24):

You'll notice there are four types of targets. Let's go.

1.) Consumer boycott targets

This is the category most people think of. BDS has asked for a total consumer boycott of these brands. In other words: do not buy from these brands.

Worth noting: Sabra hummus is also a major part of this list. Not sure why it was left out of the graphic.

Here is more info from BDS about the reasoning for these choices. You'll notice that Disney is not in this target category. Let's move on.

2.) Divestment and exclusion targets

This category is about pressuring governments and institutions to end their dealings with these brands on a large scale.

It's really important to note that BDS is not asking consumers to boycott this category. The best way we can support is to put pressure on our institutions (e.g. local governments, universities).

Obviously, if you personally want to stop buying from these brands, you can! But that is not the ask from BDS right now. That is your personal choice.

3.) Pressure targets

And here we have arrived!

BDS is asking us to conduct pressure campaigns against these targets.

This can include boycotting ("when reasonable alternatives exist")! It can also include:

lobbying (sending letters, emails, petitions...)

peaceful disruptions (nonviolent direct action, protests)

social media pressure ("hey followers, go sign this petition! go call this number!" "@ slimy corporation, why do you support genocide?")

Again, if you personally want to boycott these brands, go ahead! That is a valid and worthwhile choice that you can make. It's worth noting though that boycotting does not mean just pirating a show on a different platform.

Boycotting is about ending our support as consumers completely.

That means ending subscriptions, canceling accounts. It also means not consuming any products from these companies or their subsidiaries. For Disney that includes Marvel, ABC, ESPN, Pixar, National Geographic, and literally a billion others. For Google, it's not just the search engine but things like Google Docs and YouTube.

As you can imagine, a complete consumer boycott of these brands would be complicated. That is why, strategically, BDS is not asking for that at this time.

It is imperative that the movement to free Palestine is strategic and organized.

The BDS movement has been doing this work for a long time. Following their lead is a good idea. Directing our energy into the actions they recommend is efficient and vital.

I've seen a lot of people in this fandom saying to boycott Disney as if it's a top priority, or even harassing others for continuing to engage with Disney content. That is nonsense and unhelpful.

There is too much to do, urgently, for us to waste time.

That said, let's briefly go over the last category:

4.) Organic boycott targets

These are boycott campaigns that developed independently. While BDS is not diverting official energy towards fighting these brands, it does support the public in that fight.

In other words, don't buy from these brands.

I, uh... don't know how to do that, friendo, because this is a Wendy's a blog not a video hosting site, but! I will try to give you something interesting. Today You Learned about the tygers of colonial Carolina!

[Alright, full disclosure: this is half a conspiracy theory of mine. I went down this rabbit hole after reading Wild New World by Dan Flores.]

In 1709, John Lawson published a book titled 'A New Voyage to Carolina' which is a detailed description of the people, flora, and fauna he found while exploring the Carolinas (I think mostly South Carolina? They weren't divided then, I think).

One thing he notes that I found interesting?

Tygers.

Listen to this from page 31:

As we were on our Road this Morning, our Indian shot at a Tyger, that cross'd the Way, he being a great Distance from us. I believe he did him no Harm, because he sat on his Breech afterwards, and look'd upon us.

Uh, okay... um... then on 119 we get this, when he's describing the different animals you can find in the area:

Tygers are never met withal in the Settlement; but are more to the Westward, and are not numerous on this Side the Chain of Mountains. I once saw one, that was larger than a Panther, and seem'd to be a very bold Creature. The Indians that hunt in those Quarters, say, they are seldom met withal. It seems to differ from the Tyger of Asia and Africa.

Alright, what makes this odd (other than that we don't have wild tigers in the Carolinas, if you don't count tailgating Clemson fans) is that the automatic guess you'd make is that he's talking about mountain lions/pumas. They don't live here now, but they did back before colonization. Except he specifically lists what we'd think of as mountain lions as 'panthers', and makes it clear that this animal, this 'tyger' isn't that.

So what are our possibilities here?

ONE: He saw an actual tiger.

...very unlikely. You'd think we'd know about this sort of thing, wouldn't you? If there were tigers in the Americas? Nah, let's dismiss this.

TWO: He made it up.

Well, look, Lawson did actually found towns in the Carolinas, so he has a vested interest in making people go there to live. If he tells you they've got cool animals to see/hunt, like tigers, well, that would definitely attract some colonists, wouldn't it? And they'd expand westward, as he points out that they're supposedly more common on the other side of the mountains (the Appalachians, presumably), and he'd get credit for that.

THREE: He's talking about a different big cat.

He does also mention the 'tygers' of Africa, except Africa doesn't have tigers, either. Either he's confused about that, or for him, 'tyger' just means 'big, colorful wild cat'. I remember that in telling Anansi stories, one author has his characters claim that 'Tyger' back in the day just meant 'big cat', and he uses 'Tiger' as the name of 'Osebo' (which I've seen other authors depict as a leopard). And while North America doesn't have tigers, it does have another really big, roaring cat...

Yes, the US does indeed have jaguars in the Southwest, though they are very rare there, as opposed to further south (and this Border Wall business is not helping conservation efforts). Historically, before they were hunted out by settlers, they did live in Texas and as far north as Colorado, and as far east as Louisiana. Heck, until the 60's it was still legal to shoot them in Arizona. Was it possible that Lawson's 'tyger' was a jaguar? He does say his indigenous correspondents told him that they were usually found west of the mountains, and rarely that far east--and the jaguar's historical range was west of the Appalachian, though pretty far from the Carolinas. And I admit that I have trouble imagining a jaguar wandering the wilds of the Carolinas (though that would be dope).

I don't know. I have no way of knowing. But Dan Flores is pretty insistent that jaguars used to be all over the place, and so he seems to subscribe to the theory that Lawson's 'tyger' was a jaguar that wandered into the Carolinas.

Hm.

A strange zoological mystery, to be sure.

In case you were wondering what happened to John Lawson, by the by, he was captured by the native Tuscarora in 1711 while exploring and tortured to death, shortly before the beginning of the Tuscarora War.

•Boycotting!

Targeted boycotting has been known to work best in the past, and applying it today is a great way to stop giving unknowing support to the genocide in Gaza. Targeted boycotting just means focusing on a few selected companies since there are hundreds of companies profiting off Israel’s attacks right now and that is not manageable to keep track of for the every day person. Here are some companies to focus on boycotting, feel free to add any I miss:

-Israeli fruits and vegetables (while this may seem obvious, it is often in small font on the back of a package where fruits and vegetables are coming from, which can be easy to overlook if you’re not specifically looking for it)

These are places actively PROFITING off the genocide in Gaza, don’t let them profit from you as well.

•Donate when you can, BUT make sure you’re donating to verified sources. I would recommend donating directly to families in Gaza that have set up funds rather than sites online or charities. Unfortunately, almost all humanitarian aid is being blocked from Gaza, so what you’re donating isn’t actually reaching the people but waiting in trucks outside the border. Here are some links to sources that have already been checked and verified:

Also consider map.org.uk if you happen to live in the UK! I have read they are helping to stock hospitals in Gaza and are on ground in the territory.

No.7 — Time

Mike is interested in Eddie's guitar. Eddie catches him sneaking glances at his Sweetheart, and decides to ask.

"You play?" he asks, gesturing towards the guitar.

"Do you?" Mike reflexively talks back, but realizes it's a pointless question and just shakes his head.

"I don't know how to play. I never learned. I wanted to, though."

The kid seems a bit sad and Eddie hates seeing him like that, so he decides there's no harm in offering.

"I could teach you if you want?"

And obviously it's a wrong move, because suddenly Mike tenses up and spits out,

"Yeah, as if I could pick strings with these hooves. It's not gonna work. Nothing ever works here. Thanks, Eddie, but no thanks."

"Whoa man- Mike, calm down. You can still learn, you know. There's no 'one' way to learn playing. I could show you the chords first and then you'll be able to practice it yourself later."

"Yeah, except there's not going to be a later."

Mike's still pissed, but he's gotten calmer. He now just seems a little annoyed at himself as he grumbles. It's a crisis averted and Eddie is relieved, as he secretly tries to come up with other ways to get Mike into playing guitar. It's just a hunch, but he thinks learning to play's gonna be good for Mike.

But then, (because he's got the worst timing ever) Dustin bursts in and shouts,

"Eddie! I need your help, quick!"

It's really remarkable, Eddie has to admit.

He stands before a wall in the boys' room, filled with jagged tally marks. Dustin looks proud of the abstract artwork, Mike's gotten tense again, and Lucas just seems tired of it all.

"Well, Dustin, it looks great. Didn't know you had a thing for art." Eddie has no idea what it means.

"What? No, this is not just some art, dude. This is my calendar. You know, I've been counting the days since we got cursed—"

"You mean Max has been counting," Lucas chips in and Dustin rolls his eyes.

"Yes, Lucas, Max has been marking since she has the most fitting claw for the task. But it's my idea, so I've been counting."

Ah, Max. Eddie knows who Max is now. Turns out the panther he met wasn't Steve. Turns out she wasn't even a panther, after all. He's embarrassed himself in front of the puma thinking that she was Steve, and he'd really like to not think about it now. So he asks,

"And about the calendar...?"

This stops Dustin from bantering with Lucas, and he turns to Eddie to give an explanation.

"Yeah, so, I've been counting the days with Max's help. And although I probably missed some dates on the days when we pissed Max off and she didn't want to help and I had to count in my head, I'm pretty sure I've got it close enough, so I wanted to crosscheck."

Eddie is now fully amused. Dustin put a lot of effort into this, he can tell. So he nods, indicating him to go on.

"So... is this May 17th, 1985?"

And wow, he's really close considering everything, so Eddie tries to answer but is cut off by Mike's voice.

"What does it even matter?"

"Huh?" comes Dustin's confused voice.

"What's the point of counting? It does nothing."

Now Dustin seems a bit tense too, and Eddie hopes this doesn't end bad. It seems unlikely.

"Well, Mike-, we need to know when we are in the time. We need to be prepared for when we get back—"

"Yeah, you keep saying 'when we get back' but we won't! That's the thing! We're not getting back, there's no 'later', we're stuck here, stuck in this body because of the stupid curse, while everything goes on without us!"

With that Mike stomps out, and Eddie can't do anything but stare into the now empty spot. Dustin doesn't look so well either, he mutters out a little "fuck," and walks out, too. Eddie hears Lucas sigh.

"So when is it?" Lucas asks a bit after, "Is it May-whatever-Dustin-said?"

"Uh, close enough. June 23rd, 1986. Should-, should we go after them?"

Why do we boycott certain things?

Let's take this Israel-Palestine conflict for example. In this one sided war, many nations, celebrities, famous brands are in support of Israel. This is not just saying "I stand beside Israel". They have a huge huge impact of this genocide.

***Many nations who support Israel are helping them in international congress. United Nation is helpless because the USA is in support of Israel. Those nations help with military support and supply war machines.

***useless celebrities, when they write a long post on social media sugar coating Israel may brain wash thousands. We all look upto celebrities right? There's been many proffs that Israel has been paying many celebrities to support them.

***famous brands: whether clothe brand of food brand, they have been supplying their product to Israel and of course they are being commissioned. For example Starbucks.

Now, why do we boycott?

Since boycotting is a form of protest, if you unfollow a certain celebrity or stop buying from a certain store they'd be forced not to support the wrong party. If they don't already support the right side, we might as well need to force it down their throat.
