"Revange, please"
Summary: Although their relationship progressed lightyears past the fling that it started as, Astarion loves to be petty almost as much as he loves his new partner.
Ship: Astarion x Fem!Tav
Category: Short fluff with some (hopefuly funny) banter
Warnings: Mention of past abuse, mention of sex
With the blessing from Dolly Dolly Dolly, they could finaly revert to walking in a relaxed group, with considerable breathing room between them, instead of how they traveled from the Underdark to the Last Light's Inn - like prey animals, almost like sewn together, to make sure no one was left in the cursed darkness.
Astarion and Tav could finaly fall considerably behide.
Tav has silently hoped she would get a moment alone with her lover. She had something she wanted to talk to him about, preferably out of other's earshot. Privacy during their adventure was particularly hard to come by.
"So", she began, trying to sound nonchalantly (or at least unrehearsed). "I was thinking about our conversation from last night, about not sleeping together".
Astarion was careful not to let his face drop.
He was so naive to let himself actually belive her words yesterday. Words, that she was aparently already going back on.
He looked past many, many years of experience and genuinely trusted that she meant what she said. That she cared for more than... that. More than what everyone else always wanted from him. That she cared for him, for the person he was.
He should have known better, he should have predicted this and never made a fool of himself by telling her about all of those pathetic feelings.
He looked back at her. Her eyes hopeful, cheeks slightly flushed, as if she was embarrassed.
It was him who should be embarrassed. He was, in fact. He had to try to salvage the situation, somehow.
"Yes, my love?", he asked, but the pet name felt flat on his toungue now. He got used to meaning it. How could he mean it now? When he knew what she truly wanted, just like everybody else? "Are you getting impatient? One night of waiting was more than enough", he purred.
Tav looked at him like he was crazy.
"That's actually not what I wanted to talk about at all. It's slightly concerning that you would think that". She blinked, banishing the thought, as if making mental note to deal with that later.
Astarion looked at half-drow, expectantly.
He couldnt deny the instant, heartwarming relief that filled him to the brim.
Still, the Vampire remained cautious, unsure of her intentions.
She hesitated.
"It felt lonely, without you, last night. I was wondering, if...", Tav avoided his eyes. "If you wanted to, of course. I wanted to know..."
She could cause others psychic demage by mocking them and talk their enemies to give up without fight, but now of all times, she found herself at loss for words.
Apparently fed up with her own innability to speak, she cleared her throat and blurted out:
"If you would want to come my tent tonight. Not for sex", she clarified.
Astarion raised an eyebrow.
"What for?" He asked.
"For... Affection?"
She finaly met his gaze, in all seriousness, as if asking in a matter-of-fact tone would cause her case to be any less corny.
Tav awaited his answer.
Clearly, she was somewhat afraid he would burst out laughing, demaging her pride beyond repair.
And, of course, Astarion would not disapoint.
His laugh (albeit, unbeknownst to Tav, comming from a place of relief rather than amusement) temporarily alerted the others, which caused her cheeks to burn hotter than Karlach's engine.
"Okay, fine, fuck you, too", she wasnt really mad, but she much preferred to growl at him than to hide her face in her palms, which she saw as her only other avaible reaction.
"No, no!" Astarion rushed to say, with a sinister scheme already forming in his mind. He stopped and faced her. "I will consider it".
Tav raised her eyebrows. Vampire's grin was not a good sign for her.
"If you say please"
Tav chuckled, with a hefty dose of disbelief. She wasn't sure if he was serious.
And couldnt help but smile a little, at his audicity.
Astarion didn't elaborate, standing his ground, so she said:
"Oh, I get it. It's a revange. For the party after we saved the Grove" She made him say please then. "Begging for cuddles is much more humiliating than asking for sex" Tav complained. "The latter you can blame at a kink at least. Or flirting".
"Please, do explain to me more how I'm comming up a winner. And do stall, I'd love an audience" with his chin Astarion gestured at the group ahead, who seemed to develop an interest in the couple and why did they stop.
"Fine", Tav hissed, her entire face burning with shame. She crossed her arms on her chest and looked into his eyes, as she finaly spat out a hateful: "Please".
"I'd be happy to", the Vampire said sweetly after a prolonged pause, when he delighted in the silence left between them after her plead.
"I'm honored" Tav said, sarcasm dripping from each syllable, but she was already dropping her feigned annoyance and letting it turn into a genuine smile.
Astarion looked pretty happy, too, and not only in a sadistic way that took pleasure into seeing her all frustrated.
"Hey, Soldier!" They heard Karlach from up ahead. "You guys comming?"
Astarion and Tav caught up with the rest of the group, making their way to the camp, motivated by their plans for the night.

Also would love to know what you think of Lily/&Sirius as well! I can totally see the slight resentment on his part you mentioned but i loveee the letter Harry finds in DH. AND tell me your thoughts on jilypad bc I just need to dig your brain
thank you very much for the ask, pal!
i know this was prompted by me saying - while discussing jily - that my preferred version of lily and sirius' relationship is one in which sirius resents lily for stealing the love of his life [and i don't mean lupin!] away from him. so i think it's worth clarifying what i mean by this:
because i certainly don't think that sirius' resentment towards lily would be overt - i don't think he'd ever be openly hostile towards her, i don't think he'd do anything to undermine james and lily's relationship, and i don't think he'd ever be anything other than sincerely delighted that james was so happy. he evidently values the relationship he has with lily - enough to have kept her letters somewhere he could retrieve after his sojourn in azkaban [the most plausible date of the letter harry finds in deathly hallows is august 1981, which means that we know sirius wasn't living at grimmauld place when it was written. this is something he's stored deliberately, rather than something he had just lying around.] - and i don't propose that he was pretending.
what i think, instead, is that sirius' canonical tendency towards suffering and abiding would make him actively want to cheerlead jily's relationship. he's someone who clearly believes that it's honourable to make sacrifices and that his own happiness is subordinate to the greater good. and while this is all very noble, it's also an enormous - and somewhat toxic - burden for someone like lily to bear.
i like the idea of sirius - much like his narrative mirror, snape - having an extraordinarily idealised view of lily which the real lily struggles to live up to [which provides an interesting watsonian explanation for why he only mentions her once in canon - the doylist reason is just that the series needs to obscure lily's centrality to the mystery for as long as it can, but it's much more fun to imagine that sirius actually knows nothing about the version of lily he didn't construct in his head]. i also like the idea of him struggling constantly with guilt over how he secretly would like to see james and lily split up, so that he could comfort james with tender forehead kisses [and much, much more...]
when it comes to lilypad as something non-platonic, then, my preferred version of the ship is one in which sirius and lily end up together after she survives voldemort's attack [and is, therefore, able to exonerate sirius by revealing that wormtail was the secret keeper] as an extraordinarily unhealthy way of dealing with the earth-shattering weight of their mutual grief. this doesn't mean that i think it would be an abusive or toxic relationship - nor that it couldn't last - but that it would be a... strange and quite melancholy one, haunted constantly by james' ghost.
which means, i suppose, that it's also my preferred version of jilypad. i don't like it as a triad when it's just written as really happy and flawless [well-functioning polygamy takes introspection, and none of these three strike me as possessing that ability...], but i do like it as a mess.

Let's clarify something: I don't hate morally grey characters, I don't hate villains as love interests. But I think it's a very thin line between morally grey actions, "dark" romance, and romanticizing abuse and sexual assault.
I personally have no problem with what anyone likes to read. Personally, I don't feel comfortable reading and shipping a couple where the male mc sexually assaulted or harassed the female mc. But that's my preference, not yours and if you like that, it doesn't make you a bad person or anything like that as long as you don't believe that is normal in our real world. That's the reason I don't read dark romance and would be able and have dnfed a book because I wasn't sure whether the male mc was going to become the love interest after he threatened to SA the mc. That's a me problem. If you like to read that type of romance, then that's none of my business.
Going back to the subject: a love villains and morally ambiguous characters. I love characters who are willing to do what's necessarily, who are all about cold logic, who follow their own interests, who are scared of love and believed themselves unlovable so they would rather be feared than loved, who are willing to burn down the world because the world hurted them, who were forced to kill any kindness and sympathy from their hearts by the world, who fall prey to madness, who just wanted to be loved but were hated in return, who commit atrocities because of fear, who are guided by fear, hate, greed, ambition and jealousy, who chose power over love. I am completely for these characters, I want to see their madness, I want to see how they had to kill what was good in them, how their past destroyed them, I want to see them willing to burn down the world just to be remembered for burning it down. These characters ruled by negative emotions are, in my opinion a reflection of what humanity is capable of without love, compassion and goodness, what humans are able to do when they lose everything, when they have learnt not to put love first, but their own interests, when they gave given so much that now the only thing they can do is take.
The reason I don't like Rhysand is because his actions are glossed over and romanticized. Also, because I'm not a fan of dark romance, but I feel that you don't have to like a couple to also like a character. I don't like him because instead of acknowledging his actions, instead of trying to find actual redemption, instead of being a truly morally grey character, he is turned into this ultra feminist king who never did anything wrong in his life. My disdain for him doesn't come from me hating villains and morally ambiguous characters, but from the way he is forgiven for his "mistakes" without any redemption, how he is portrayed as a good guy all along when he so clearly was never one, how his actions keep getting excused and excused over and over again and he never takes responsibility for the pain he caused while other characters are hated for their own mistakes. And also because I cannot forgive sexual assault or objectification of women.
So no, I don't hate your fave because he is morally grey, I hate him for being a hypocrite and his victim complex.

tdlr : quill/rocket love triangle qna + excerpts!!
Since the quill/rocket love triangle poll one by 0.01% (literally) I’m trying to make it happen! Definitely will have at LEAST one chapter out by the end of august, maybe even two, but allow me to answer some frequently asked questions.
Quill and Rocket are in love with the reader. (Because of this, I would prefer to call it a love angle but its a lesser known term, so.)
I don’t wanna spoil the plot too much but I saw a post of James Gunn on twitter confirming Quill is on space tinder. That’s the only clue I can give you (no, it’s not a chat fic.)
It’s not poly. Sorry for those who wanted it that way.
And last but not least, here’s two excerpts—it’s not much but that’s because I just started, but hopefully you get the feel of the fic from this HAHA
so the first one’s to give you some insight on Quill, second’s on Rocket ;
Tumblr media
Books sound so much better when you recommend them to me
Peter
It’s books
There’s so many good ones out there that I haven’t read
I can take you to a bookstore if you want
Alright, if you insist
But I haven’t finished a book since
Since I last saw my mother
And you changed that
The bubble that held these words was the face of Peter—it was his face. The flat device on your phone was supposed to make up for the fact that you weren’t next to him.
Reading that through was like looking at a sunset and speculating its feelings. Obviously it’s a pretty sight. A lot of things happen when pink meets red meets orange meets yellow. But the sun doesn’t have a face. Neither do the colors. But your shoulders sink and your bones unwind at the very thought of letting your hair brush through the mellow sunset wind.
There was something there. Obviously, there was something there.
But Peter Quill was a chat screen with feelings.
I’m glad you liked Ready Player One Peter
I feel like a damn child again
With all the sci-fi you’ve recommended me
But in the good way
Like
I can let loose
With you
Yk?
Tumblr media
“Hey uh,” you swallowed, the slick noises from your throat somehow bouncing off the walls. “The ship’s on autopilot, right?”
“No, we’re crashing any second now,” Rocket answered dryly.
You whipped around to face the window. More clanging sounds ensued, but the stars were still sticking to the sky, fixed, not moving, not dropping to shaking about—and there was no quake in the ship, no floating feeling of your body falling and yet your heart hiccuped.
Rocket snickered. Your heart drummed somewhat distantly in your chest, but as drums are, it was loud, and it ran a careless finger down your ribs.
“Of course we’re on autopilot, princess,” he clarified a little kinder, despite the gesture being anything but kind. It was considered kinder because whatever he had done previously had made this an improvement.
He loaded his hands into his pockets, leaning against the box with a foot crossed over the other.
You groaned as your head hit the mattress, and you did this instead of offering a response, an option you actually had to weigh.
“Never got the proper meeting, by the way,” Rocket said, his boots giving away each heavy step towards you. “I’m—”
“Rocket. I know who you are,” you finish for him so he doesn’t have the chance to say anything else that would scare you.
You reluctantly sat up only to find he was closer than you had expected him to be. Your feet suddenly gravitated towards the floor in an attempt to regain some modesty.
“This usually goes both ways, you know.”
You press your lips into a thin line, your eyelids drooping to form an unamused look. You utter your name but the syllables clung to your lips when they barely left you. Rocket held out his hand, and you take note of his black nails protruding from its slender but unmarred form. You take his hand in your own, shaking it torpidly and very, very slimly moving it for a better view.
It was unmarred in a very human way—it held prominent knuckles at the beginning of each finger, and it looked so unnaturally natural; his hands were active, always on the move, always touching very hot and dangerous things—how could it possibly be unmarred?
“Now you say ‘nice to meet you, Rocket,’” he quipped.
You hit his hand away and scoffed. “Yeah yeah, okay.”
“Nice to meet you too,” he said along with your name, leaving him like a cardboard box labeled ‘fragile.’ It’s an open box but it’s handled with care, something he steadily unpacked.

Hello, first off I’m sorry you about what recently happen.
I figure I would pop in and give you some reassurance that your not crazy or coming across as aggressive.
This is a shot in the dark however I am on twst Twitter and their recently been a lot of discords about ships, specifically people considering long time friendship ships (like Silver and Sebek or Lilia and Melenora) as incest.
My best guess if that people were already on high emotions, and with your post they didn’t read it as a ‘oh this is just the Japanese translation’ but as a ‘here is proof that you ship is stupid and nonexistent.’
I hope you are doing alright and continue with your posts, they are wonderful and interesting.
(Note, you don’t have to reply to this, I figure I would just give you some idea about other parts of the fandom and where this influx might be coming from).
Have a wonderful day!
Thank you! Yeah, I got the feeling that people were getting defensive and were thinking I'm trying to derail their ship.
The following is not directed to you, but an opportunity to address others:
I'd like to clarify that I'm absolutely, wholeheartedly trying to be as neutral as I can, especially since I have the privilege of being pragmatic on this topic simply because I am not a Lilia shipper, so I don't have any bias whatsoever on who he wants to be in a relationship with.
I do apologize if I sounded like a party pooper, but that was written with a lot of statements that say you can or cannot accept it as romantic or platonic or familial, depending on your preference. I was just of the opinion that the "truth" should be laid out, regardless. If the assumption that Lilia is in love with them becomes "canon" in many EN speakers' minds, just like what most of the reblogs to that post actually thought, it might lead to conflict in the future where other ships, headcanons, or opinions on Lilia might get harassed and close off avenues for creativity and discussion.
I myself consider myself as a deranged MalleYuu stan and like to blow lines out of proportion. 😂 However I, as well as most people like me, do understand that those MalleYuu moments are nothing more than fanservice and a honey trap to make fans spend more, lol.

Katara and Aang’s devotion and commitment to one another is the reason why we ship them romantically. Kataang shippers are the only ones writing content that highlights their bond while everyone else ignores it in favor of other ships. Just because YOU prefer it platonically and want to analyze their scenes as a friendship (which you can? No one is stopping you?) doesn’t mean you can control how others interpret their scenes. If shipping is about harmless fun why are you upset that people view all their scenes through a romantic light? That’s literally what shipping is? Everyone in the fandom does it with their ships and all of the major ships are overwhelmingly viewed through a romantic context, canon or not. It seems like you’re just upset that the show went a romantic direction with Kataang because you prefer them platonically. Naturally it makes sense that two people who are each other’s person would eventually explore this bond romantically (though they should’ve been older).
First of all, take a deep breath. My post was fundamentally an appreciation of Katara and Aang's relationship, so frankly I fail to understand the level of defensiveness I'm reading in this ask.
Yes, my post contained minor critique of shipping culture and the way that their relationship was written in the show. I can elaborate below if you require me to clarify.
When I said the romance detracts from the relationship, it was a criticism of fandom engagement with all the ATLA and specifically the way stans of every ship use ship-wars as an excuse to hate on and detract from their very real connection. I think Kataang's romantic scenes in the show were not compellingly written. They did not give them enough time in the second half of S3 to properly engage with and discuss their relationship. I agree they should've been older, and I think their relationship makes a lot of sense as they age up. However, the writers of this show were more interested in resolving the shipping clashes and creating 'canon' endings than anything else, so they rushed the story in the show itself.
Due to this, the ship-wars only intensified. This has led to incredibly bad-faith interpretations of key scenes in the show. For example, I have seen people engage the Southern Raiders (an episode fundamentally about Katara and Katara's trauma) solely to further one ship over another. This bothers me because it is simply poor media analysis.
My post was more of a critique of the Zvt*ra (censored only so that it doesn't clog the tags) side of the fanbase, and not yours, actually. But frankly, your defensive response is why it's so incredibly difficult to engage with this fandom. Assuming I'm 'hating' and just 'upset that people view their scenes in a romantic light' is, once again, detracting from the fact that my post was ultimately to highlight the incredibly beautiful and interesting relationship between these two characters.

Okay, folks. Another essay. (Not a character analysis, folks.)
How I feel about Ron. Under the cut bc it might not be very Ron-friendly (but no Ron-bashing here (okay maybe a little) , just my honest thoughts)
Just gonna start off by saying what follows is my opinion. I haven't read the books, and I don't really plan to. Anything I write, my fics, my meta, you name it, is taken from the movies. That being said, it's just that. Sure, it might not be completely informed bc I haven't read the books. And I'd also like to clarify (my fault for not mentioning this before) this is not a character analysis of Ron Weasley, this is my opinion concerning him from what I've seen in the movies. My opinion is most certainly not law and it's definitely not fully informed bc I haven't read the books, but it's just me putting my thoughts out there.
Alright, so maybe I misunderstand things sometimes. Maybe it's been a few years since I've seen the movies. But the thing is, I don't quite like Ron as a character. Why?
In the first few movies, it's endearing how scared silly he can be, and it's sweet to see he's such good friends with Harry and Hermione. But what really got me was in Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire. Yes, there was the tension between Ron and Harry, but what called my attention was Ron's behaviour towards Hermione. Specifically "You're a girl. Come to the ball with me?" As if she was his last option--she who over the span of a few movies was a good friend and you'd think he might care a little bit more. But then again, they're teenagers, he's probably not thinking as well as he should. It just seemed very un-gentlemanly like to me the way that he asked her about it. If I were here, I wouldn't have appreciated that.
Then, at the actual Ball itself, he was jealous. That's understandable, happens to the best of us. But she was happy and practically beaming that evening. When he accused her of 'fraternizing with the enemy', that was kind of a last straw it seemed to me. Like 1) as she points out, the other schools aren't to be thought of as enemies. It's a competition, but the idea of the Ball was to have everyone together 2) I really don't think he's in a position to speak down to her when he asked her in a less-than-noble way to be his date for the ball.
Thus far my thoughts on Ron. Now bringing up Draco. Now being a Dramione shipper, myself, I will say that of course, I prefer her with Draco rather than with Ron. Why is that? Well, I can't speak for others--but for my part, the Draco that I like and that I ship with Hermione, is one that sees the error of his ways, that apologizes to her and determines (and actually makes efforts to) to be a better man. Basically this is solely in fanfics bc of course, in canon, the closest thing to redemption that we see for Draco is 1) the Manor scene when he refuses to identify Harry and 2) the deleted scene where he throws Harry his wand.
It's true that Draco also was an asshole when he called her mudblood and spoke down to her. He also mistreated her to a certain degree. But the difference I'm making is that in the fanfics I've read, I've seen a progression from 12-year old arrogant Slytherin to a man who will set fire to the world around him but never let them touch Hermione, a man who would move heaven and earth for her. A man who knows he's flawed and knows that he's hurt the woman he loves but he makes every effort to amend that and be better.
If there are Ron/Hermione fics that show him turning around from that moment at the Ball and being a better man, please feel free to hit me up with those, and I'd love to take a look. But it just seems funny to me that that's kind of swept under the rug. Like yes, Hermione forgives. But--if both Draco and Ron insulted Hermione in one way or another--why should there be more work for Draco to redeem himself in Hermione's eyes than Ron? You'd think (so I think) it would have hurt her more to be so treated by Ron, her friend, bc of their history.
To clarify, I am not trying to make a point here that one ship is better than the other. No. Ship and let ship, that's my theme. I just wanted to get my thoughts out bc I was considering and thought I might share it.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

IM SORRY THIS ISNT MEANT TO BE AGGRESSIVE i have not been on this part of the internet in a long time so things might have changed but.... last i heard the proship label encompassed things (in fiction) like inc/st, abusive relationships, p/do shit, etc... is that still correct? idk if thats what you were talking about in your tags because i do not know Anything about minecraft youtubers but usually when people put proship in their dni theyre denouncing that stuff. just wanted to clarify im understanding your complaints, no harm intended!
No problem!! it can be confusing lol, nothing wrong with being unsure. All-in-all, you're kinda close with that idea, but still not on target. explanations of proship vs anti, the d/mp fandom's take on it, and my thoughts on it all under the cut:
So proship as a philosophy is about wether or not things like that (in fiction) translate to real life, which is why it's connected to censorship like i mentioned in the post- if you believe that watching or reading something problematic will make more problematic things happen, that someone reading a book with a child/adult relationship makes them more likely to (or is on it's own already the same as) a person pursuing that in real life, that makes you an anti; and it also gives you a big reason to push for works like that being taken down or removed, and for people who make or read that stuff to be put in real prisons or face other real life consequences for fictional acts- because the idea is that, to an anti, these things bleed into each other.
being proship isn't equivalent to enjoying dark fiction like that, but it IS equivalent to believing that, similar to fictional violence, fictional crimes or acts of any kind can be created and consumed by artists and audiences without people actually condoning it IRL. a proshipper would say that if someone plays a video game where they murder someone, and then does it IRL, thats on the PERSON, not the media- and they hold the same position for fictional portrayals of incest, abusive relationships, and pedophilic relationships. the name comes from being pro- as in for- ships, and other content, as a whole; without it having to meet IRL moral criteria.
dark fiction freaks me out personally; the biggest ick (and actually a trigger for me) being incest; It bothers me and i stay away from it. but I don't think that people who read or make it are going to condone it IRL directly because of that media, and I believe that if they WERE to do something bad like abusing someone, it'd be an unrelated/seperate issue: an independent choice that only they are responsible for, not anything they made or watched or read.
That makes me fall under proship, even though I don't like any problematic (as in incest, abuse, adult/minor) ships. Personally, I literally follow people who like things that bother me in that way: i just block the tags so when they post something i really don't wanna see, tumblr tells me, hey, this post has this thing in it so we've spoilered it. If someone likes shipping their silly little blorbos and those silly little blorbos are kinda fucked up in a way that makes their brain go brrr, that's totally chill with me as long as they aren't hurting anyone- which, because i don't think fiction equates to reality, I believe they aren't when they're playing with their blorbos. (and since i'm pro-rpf, it's worth mentioning i feel the same about that. rpf is still FICTION, at the end of the day. you don't actually expect those people to do the things you write or draw. it's still removed from reality. that's personal preference though, many proshippers would disagree.)
So basically proship or Anti is a label that represents your philosophy on how human thoughts and behavior link to fiction. anti means you believe that consuming something fictional is equivalent to doing it in real life, or at least will make you do it IRL later, while proship means you believe that consuming something fictional is unrelated to doing it IRL, and you can enjoy something fictionally without actually enjoying it or condoning it when it's real people.
you will, of course, see more people who enjoy dark fiction under proship, and that's because they themselves consume it- so of course they're going to say it's not the same as doing it IRL. You will also, of course, see more people who don't like dark fiction at all under anti, because when you're disgusted by something like that then that reaction can be taken as "evidence" that it's morally bad. (personally, disgust-based morality doesn't hold up as a concept for me- it's a big reason why bigots believe the things they do, so using the same logic path makes me uncomfortable, but it is still common for people to use it as a way to measure wether something is okay or not.)
so, the part about silly block game.
there's lots of censoring in this part to avoid harassment, so bear with me.
In the early days of the d/mp, people decided that creating romantic content around the b-nchtr-o (Tmmy, tvbb0, and rnb00, who were all around 16 at the time) was inherently problematic. I'm not sure why, exactly, but the idea became that a fan crushing on one of them (at the exact same age!!!) or shipping them with each other, even as characters, was equivalent to being a real life child predator. again, even if the person doing it was ALSO a minor.
because it was seen as inherently problematic, behaviors like those were lumped in with other things problematic- shipping characters on the smp who had fought or killed each other, shipping characters who were related or were minor/adult, etc. there was no distinction; i was there!! it was all problematic, and all of it was seen as evidence that you were a real life predator of some kind regardless of age or disclaimers put under your content.
the label that developed for this group of "problematic content" enjoyers within the fandom became "poppytwt" or "ppytwt". (twt being there because it was mainly localized around twitter). as i explained above, because it could be because of dark fiction OR be//htr/o content, poppytwt content and ships doesn't even require it being dark fiction necessarily, nor does it require it being b//chtr/o; just one or the other, although usually the assumption is that it's both, since that combines the two reasons for being under that label. some people also call any proshippers in the fandom poppy even if they don't engage in anything problematic in-fandom, but that's generally the antis and not people themselves. if someone self describes as poppy, it's for the two main reasons above.
Additionally, the d/mp fandom has this concept of "maintagging". what this means is that if you make problematic content, you are NOT ALLOWED to tag it under the fandoms or characters it's about, because people don't want to see it in their results. ao3 has a tag filtering feature for this exact purpose, but people generally disregaurd that; you're still not supposed to tag it on the "main" tags, and doing so is seen almost like "asking for" harassment, like how some people talk about wearing crop tops alone at night.
Tntd/o managed to cross over, actually, from poppy to main/normalized in the fandom as the creators leaned into it with their characters. but for awhile even that was considered poppy.
different members of ppytwt have different opinions on RPF, but RPF was also considered poppy on it's own sometimes depending on who you were talking to and how militant they were on what got a pass and what didn't.
as be/chtr/o aged....it didn't stop?? all of them hit 18, but still, to this day, you can be cancelled for shipping them with each other or ANYONE else. it's why i'm so damn scared of the d/mp fandom, if i tagged a fic about my source with his character tag, with ANYTHING other than platonic relationships for him/me, I run the risk of being sent threats or doxxed- don't get me wrong, many antis keep to themselves, but there are also those who try to play vigilante- remember, if something fictional is equivalent to IRL, then attacking someone for enjoying a "bad" fictional thing becomes a charitable, heroic act; so sometimes antis might pursue proshippers with the goal of keeping people "safe". Many people in related fandoms or under the same creators also adopted the same ideals handed down from the d/mp fandom, so i'm wary of people who just watch my source too, or of people who like the q/mp.
people joke about the old fandom going crazy if they say tvbb0 and tmmy today, and that's because they would. they'd be furious at tmmy for doing this bit and putting himself in danger, they'd be cancelling anyone who ran with the bit in chat or had a photo of them hugging or kissing like in the music video as a profile picture, it'd be a whole mess. even today though it's still...scary.
((paused there to take a strawberry milk break, im back now))
the somewhat exception to this rule is Rnb00- people literally thirst for them and make nsfw comments openly, so while im not sure about the shipping aspect, i do know simping is widely okay- you couldn't even say you wanted to kiss them before, but now people are saying wayyy more than that...
inversely, i feel like my source has it the worst, because people won't even talk about him- or anything related to him- as an adult. it's always child this and child that, "who let him drink" and "get the alcohol away from the baby!", and of couse "don't ship him or his character with anyone that makes you a pedophile!!!" while the grown ass man they're talking about outright says he's alright with sfw fanfiction in a video where he reacts to someone's x-reader and then makes flirty nsfw jokes with every other adult man in the vicinity. every fanfic is platonic and almost all of them both irl and in game write him as sixteen. they take place in the past or, more commonly, they just straight up age him down. hell, sometimes they even age him down to like eight. even in fics where he IS an adult, he gets called a child or a teenager but never an adult.
poppytwt, like the stigma against writing for the creators or their characters, lives on. and even outside of benchtrio, again, ships between other characters that are problematic are poppytwt, so that also is still clinging on for dear life in some corners of the web. most poppytwt posts that are tagged as such usually include b//chtr/o, but not all of them; and it's worth noting many creators avoid tagging at all even if it's just the poppytwt tag, because they don't want to get swarmed.
because I ship myself with my husband of course, and also make fictional content with our sources as an extension of that (think dungeons and dragons but the character is just you...or, actually, SMPs are a great example of this since the appearance/name is generally the same, so think like an SMP!!!!!) I am poppytwt. I will always be poppytwt to most people who don't like poppytwt. and I have friends who are poppytwt and I like art made by people under poppytwt. I don't need to ship incest to be a part of that, i just need to not think the people who do aren't doing anything harmful when they ship that, and to write/draw....well, anything about septicinnit, which i do all the time.
if someone has poppytwt dni in their bio, i can't interact. if someone has proship dni in their bio, i can't interact. it doesn't matter if what they really mean is "people who like abusive ships because that triggers me", I still can't interact.
Because i think we SHOULD be tagging our content exactly so that we can filter it and find what we personally enjoy (and avoid what we dont), the concept of a DNI is technically something i'm kinda for- it is a way of monitoring and controlling your experience- but it also can be used as an excuse to harass people who forgot to read it, and i have no way of knowing if that's the case in advance.
ADITTIONALLY, because I know and care about people who consume dark fiction, I also don't want to be around people who think that makes them a bad person, regaurdless of wether or not they think i can stay. and "proship dni" is about proship, that fiction isn't reality philosophy- they are saying right out of the gate that they think it DOES make them a bad person. and I don't agree with that. it frustrates me and it makes me upset. those DNIs are based in a place of disgust and hatred for the people I care about, because of content that isn't real, and i'm never going to feel super okay with that...
there's people who don't understand what it means and use it anyway when it's really just about the content; but again, how am i supposed to know which is which?? ESPECIALLY on twitter, the anti philosophy is extremely popular and relevant and yes, trendy. people believe it, HARD, and so i can't assume they don't when they say they do. I've met real flesh and blood people in person who think that way, so if you are using these words, i'm assuming you know what they mean- that way I don't run the risk of making an actual anti upset and violating their boundaries.
you don't have to agree with me on this- if you're anti, then that's your worldview and i'm not going to change that. but that's what those words mean, the history of the block game side of things, and how they're correlated to censorship.
To Summarize:
Anti : Fiction Equals Reality so Fictional Crimes are Real Crimes (ergo we should censor them to stop the crimes)
Proship: Fiction does NOT Equal Reality so Fictional Crimes are Harmless (on their own)
Anti-Anti: Not sure if Fictional Crimes are Harmless, but Don't Like that Antis think Proshippers are The Exact Same Level as IRL Criminals
Poppytwt/ppytwt: Problematic silly block game stuff, OR things that have to do with these three specific block people being hot/dating someone. Sometimes both.

not here to start beef but i feel like suggesting that alan's input on stick ages is "canonical" after his 5 entire seconds of thinking about it is kind of disingenuous? alan has never so much as suggested canonical relationships (biological or not) between the hollowheads before, and afaik vastly prefers to let the fandom interpret stick identities as they wish. like ppl can take 10-13 to heart if they want but i DEFINTIELY would not use it as an excuse to bitch at anyone who still ships them here onwards. death of the author
Huh????
I got no clue what you’re referring to on the first part because I literally said nothing about the relationships between the hollow heads or anything shipping wise
And I never bitched at anyone about it????
All I did was share the clip of Alan and DJ talking about their ages, because it’s never been discussed before, and I thought people should have the right to see it. Sure I shouldn’t have used “Confirmed” since it definitely was an on spot answer, but like I said in the Edit I made, I posted the clip without thinking first, and then clarified it later.
Whatever people do with the information is up to them. It’s not my business on what others do, if I don’t like it I can just block or ignore them. I never once said or implied that people had to instantly change all of their headcanon’s because of that one clip that isn’t solid evidence of their ages
I also literally said I still see them and HC them as teenagers, but it would be funny if they were actually 10.
Im not here to bash people with what they think, nor berate them and tell them to change everything about their own versions of the stick figures. I’m sorry you felt like I was, but all honesty I wasn’t.

Hate to break it to you, but Feysand has always been a retcon and SJM is a liar who says she’s always had them planned to sound cooler and to cover up the fact that she’s always said 1) she never plans her books and 2) she had to add Rhys in earlier and that she’d originally planned for him to be the villain.
Detailing the actual story of how ACOTAR came to be from her own former newsletter, she wrote two and half ACOTAR books in 2009 (then originally only a trilogy). In 2014, SJM scrapped and rewrote the entirety of that original second and half of a third book and completely started over with them, creating what is now ACOMAF and ACOWAR. She did not change anything in ACOTAR, though, but she did add things in during editing. She’s also said Nesta and Lucien were originally supposed to be mates and that she didn’t even plan for Nessian until she wrote the scene where the IC goes to ask Feyre’s family for help.
If Nesta and Lucien were originally endgame, that would infer that Feyre in the original second book actually spent a majority of her time in the Spring Court because how else would Nesta meet Lucien? He doesn’t live in the NC. He doesn’t live the AC. And if a majority of the plot is taking place in Spring and the story is from Feyre’s pov, it would also imply Feyre was still with Tamlin. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And a quick reminder that the entire series was originally a Beauty and the Beast/Tamlin retelling, not just the first book.
You can love Feysand, no one is telling you not to, but if you’re going to try to debunk what others are saying, then at least find out why they’re saying it in the first place so you can provide a proper counter argument. There’s overwhelming evidence within the first book that anything after it was never planned.
In fact, you could take Rhys out of the first book and the Calanmai scene would still work if Lucien had been the one to find her. The dresser would still work if Feyre and Elain’s drawers were swapped. Amarantha’s whore could be anybody, and the scene where Rhys forces Tamlin and Lucien to beg for Feyre could’ve happened with that anybody, not just Rhys. Maybe you should think about why the first book of a book series, where he’s supposedly been the plan all along, could still play out without him. 😬
Hi, anon.
I would first like to let you know, my inbox is not a place to start ship wars or attack people for their opinions of canon fandom matters. I hope in the future you respect the simple request at the top of my page to leave me polite asks.
But, to clarify a few points you've addressed here, look under the cut
"She never plans her books."
Anon, I'm not sure what precisely you mean when you say plan. There are many types of writers. When you're drafting an original story you may create an outline detailing the step by step plot, conflict, character development, call to action, etc.
Or perhaps you are an author like me, who instead prefers to free write. I won't hesitate to admit I can't stick to an outline beyond points A, B, and C. For example, my Anastasia AU
Chapter 1: The Rumor, The Legend, The Mystery (St. Pete)
Rumors
Plan Con
Meet Elain
Chapter 2: Things My Heart Used To Know (December)
Learning Heritage
Rhys’ 1st appearance
Chapter 3: The High Lord Lies Cold (Neva flows)
Rhys Bonus
Chapter 4: Let Me Say Goodbye (Stay I pray you)
1997 ~For the Magic~
Carriage out of Dusk
Carriage stopped enroute
Escape
Chapter 5: In a Crowd of Thousands
Nightmare/Talk
Travel on foot to gate to Day
Meet Helion
Chapter 6: Could it Be? (Quartet)
2. "She had to add Rhys in earlier than planned to be a villain."
What exactly is the point of this statement? Maybe Feyre could have stayed inside the manor on Calanmai. Maybe Lucien could have stumbled upon her and the three fae who targeted her. If you think she's the only author to rewrite a story or add characters in an earlier or later position, I'm going to guess you don't have much of a concept of the natural writing process.
3. "Detailing the actual story of how ACOTAR came to be from her own former newsletter, she wrote two and half ACOTAR books in 2009 (then originally only a trilogy). In 2014, SJM scrapped and rewrote the entirety of that original second and half of a third book and completely started over with them, creating what is now ACOMAF and ACOWAR. She did not change anything in ACOTAR, though, but she did add things in during editing."
Again, the natural writing process. Rewriting a hundred times over if it's necessary to get the book published. Editing for the sake of a fluid storyline.
4. Your points on Nesta, Lucien, and Cassian have nothing to do with a Feysand of Feylin endgame. There could have been a dozen different ways SJM planned on Lucien and Nesta meeting outside of Spring that we will never know. The fact is that in the end, SJM decided "Lucien and Nesta would be at each other's throats. And not in a good way". Or something along those lines. In walked Nessian.
5. "You can love Feysand, no one is telling you not to, but if you’re going to try to debunk what others are saying, then at least find out why they’re saying it in the first place so you can provide a proper counter argument."
I am aware I have the freedom of expression in the fandom. I would also like to clarify I was entirely polite in "debunking" the counterargument to defend Tamlin. Did you feel particularly attacked when I told a new fandom member to try the second book and see if it was to their liking when they saw Rhysand's story?
Or was it my assessment of Tamlin's lack of anger management and every marker of an abuser he shows from the second he comes to take Feyre across the wall.
TL;DR
No matter how many rewrites ACOTAR went through, there was no character retcon on Tamlin or Rhys. Book one was an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast and Book two was an adaptation of Hades and Persephone, even if very few elements were taken from the actual tales.
For any others who wish to drop in and give me a polite hello, my inbox is always open and I'm chugging along so I have some lovely Feysand and crack ship snippets to provide you with.

Meanwhile In Another Universe Masterlist
Notes: NGL I am obsessed with this ship atm, it’s like the only thing I wanna write right now XD Also yeh I think Shang and Kuai’s relationship would end up being very toxic here, but hey. Kuai’s got a lot of internal guilt over things that he really shouldn’t be feeling guilty for, and Shang is basically completely taking advantage of that fact. Although I do like the idea of Shang sitting and kicking his feet and giggling while watching Kuai beat people up so idk, maybe that’ll do it for someone else too lmfao.
Tumblr media
Kuai hissed as his fingers laced the bruise very quickly forming on his cheek. At least it’s not my eye this time. He usually walked away from these cage fights with far worse. To be fair, tonight's opponents had been particularly pathetic. Worst of the worst was some prick who thought because he ran with a street gang that made him hard. A few well aimed punches and kicks had hopefully humbled the asshole.
Although knowing Kuai’s luck, he’d gather all his gangbanger friends and try to take him out for disrespecting him or some bullshit like that.
Kuai looked down at the envelope of money on the side. At the very least he had enough to keep him going for another few weeks. Maybe even enough to splash out on a cheap motel room for a night or two. That’d be nice, I could use an actual bed and a night of just watching shitty TV shows.
He supposed, in reality, there was still a bed for him back with his family. It wouldn’t be so bad right? At least he’d be with Tomas again…
As if to remind him why he left in the first place, the scar on his face began to ache.
No. I can never go back. He sighed miserably to himself, grabbing the envelope and shoving it into his backpack. Sorry Tomas. It’s probably for the best you don’t see what I’ve become.
He was brought out of his musings by the sound of the door opening. Expecting it to be Kabal or Kano coming to inform him of the next fight they’d want him to do, he turned his head. Only to find it was neither man, or even any member of The Black Dragon that Kuai was familiar with. He was a man of a similar stature to Kuai Liang himself, long hair and a very fancy looking suit. So fancy that it was completely out of place for someone to be wearing at an illegal fighting ring.
“If you’re looking for the toilets, they’re a little further down,” Kuai informed the man, jerking his head in a motion to indicate which way the man needed to go.
“Actually, I’ve found exactly what I was looking for,” the man replied, a strange smug tone to his voice that made Kuai wish he was in the ring with him so he could get away with punching him for it. “Scorpion, am I correct?” Kuai frowned at the man, hoping to prompt him to clarify why he was looking for him. “Although I assume that’s not your real name.”
“Kuai Liang,” he snapped, although why he told the man his name at all was beyond him. For all he knew, this guy was a cop or something. Then again, he doubted Kano would let a pig get this far into the club.
“I’m Shang Tsung.” He held out his hand as if to offer it to shake. Kuai did not respond to it.
“I’d rather you tell me what you want,” Kuai hissed, hauling his backpack over his shoulder. “I have other places to be, you know.”
Well, really he wanted to try and get a good place to sleep for the night. His preferred spot was kind of in high demand, an isolated bridge by the river. No one really went down there at night and it was mostly sheltered from bad weather. It could only fit about 4 or 5 people under there, so it was a bit of a rush to get to it before it was full.
“I have a proposition for you, if you are willing to hear me out.” Oh. Great. A proposition.
“I’m not interested in whatever pyramid scheme you’re trying to peddle.” He hated that his snappy words seemed to cause the man some sort of pleasure, at least that was what the smirk on his face suggested. “Now if you’ll excuse me-“
“I can assure you, what I am offering is more than worth your while,” he tried, holding his hands up as if to try and block Kuai from leaving. Kuai just rolled his eyes. “It would include you having more stable living accommodations, if that takes your interest at all.”
Kuai paused, feeling a strange cold overcome him. “How the hell do you know I’m homeless?”
“Kano rather does have a habit of rambling once he’s had a few beers.” Shit, of course. Really it could have been anyone from The Black Dragon who told him, but Kano did make the most sense. Loud mouthed bastard. “I’ve watched you fight for the last few weeks, and I can’t help but think your skills would be better suited elsewhere.”
Kuai stayed silent. He had no idea where this was going.
“I work for Miss Sindel Von Edenia. Are you familiar with that name?”
“Wait, you don’t mean that woman who runs that one crime family or whatever? Outworld or something like that?” Kuai was confused, that was one of the biggest crime networks in the city. So much so there was no way in hell they’d bother with someone who committed petty crime at best like himself. “If you work for her, what the hell are you doing in a dive like this?”
“We like keeping an eye out for upcoming talents in our field.” Kuai huffed and rolled his eyes yet again, this guy was so pretentious. “And I am personally seeking out a bodyguard currently.”
“A bodyguard?” Kuai asked slowly, finally realising where this conversation was going.
“Well, bodyguard, enforcer, I am in need of someone good with their fists,” Shang Tsung chuckled, ambling towards Kuai slowly. Once close enough, he gently took Kuai’s hand in his, rubbing his thumb along Kuai’s knuckle. “And from what I’ve seen, you are exactly what I’m looking for.”
“Why me?” Kuai asked, wanting to rip his hand from the other man, but the part of him that longed so much for such a gentle touch stopped him. “There’s dozens of other guys fighting in that ring on a weekly basis. Why me?”
“Maybe there are.” Shang Tsung tilted his head, a small smirk on his face as his eyes swept Kuai up and down. “But none of them look quite as enchanting when covered in blood as you do.”
Kuai choked on his own spit, as his entire world went red hot. He’d been propositioned enough times to be somewhat aware that people found him attractive for some reason. No one had quite ever told him that he looked good while causing others pain however.
“Y-You said…” Kuai cleared his throat, trying to swiftly move on. However the way Shang Tsung looked at him indicated the embarrassed fluster was exactly the reaction he’d hoped for. “You said about stable living accommodations.”
“As my bodyguard, I would require you to be available 24/7.” That sounded extremely unnecessary, if you asked Kuai Liang, but he wasn’t about to voice that. “I have a spare room in my condominium, it would be yours for as long as you are in my employment.”
That did sound good. He’d been living on the street for almost a year now, the brief stays in motels were a small reminder of what he left behind. It’d be nice to have more security in that regard.
You could just go home, moron. The fact that thought was in Bi-Han’s voice disturbed him more than it should have.
But… he could just go home, couldn’t he? It wasn’t like that wasn’t an option. He could go home, head hung low and tail between his legs. He could go back to his brothers.
His gut twisted. He couldn’t go back to his brothers. He loved them, but he just couldn’t.
Tomas would be so disappointed by what he’d become. They’d both always shared the same sense of morality, yet here Kuai was, taking part in illegal fights, stealing money and food to survive. How could Tomas ever look him in the eye again? How could Kuai ever live with the shame Tomas would no doubt feel?
And then there was Bi-Han. His scar began to sting again, the wound that had caused that explosive final argument before Kuai left. Returning to that house would be proof that Bi-Han had been right all along. That Kuai couldn’t look after himself, and he needed his elder brother’s to coddle and smother him for the rest of his life.
He just couldn’t stand having to live the rest of his life being thought of as incapable of even the most basic of self care.
He’d never meant to leave forever. When he walked out the door, he’d intended to wander around for a while to clear his head before returning to plead his case. But in the end he just… Never went back. The longer he spent away, the harder the idea of returning became. Eventually, he just came to one very simple conclusion.
He could never go home to them.
A hand on his cheek brought him out of his musings, a thumb wiping away a tear that Kuai hadn’t realised was there. He tried to resist the urge to nuzzle into the hand. He couldn’t remember the last time someone touched him so gently. He’d grown far too used to the harsh hands he encountered in battle.
“Of course you’ll also have a generous pay check,” Shang Tsung continued, “I wouldn’t expect you to pay rent, or even pay for food. That would be all part of the package in your employment.”
“That…” Kuai paused, squinting suspiciously at the man in front of him. “That sounds too good to be true.”
And his Father, ever the savvy businessman, had always told him if something sounded too good to be true, it probably was.
“I can understand why you would think that.” Shang Tsung gently patted Kuai’s cheek, pulling his hand away. “I think the question you should really be asking is if you can afford to pass over the potential opportunity?”
Kuai hated that he had a point. His current situation was not ideal at all. He needed something to change, something that didn’t require him to go home. Maybe this all sounded like fantasy, but the fact there was a slim chance it could be real was very tempting.
“How about this, I’ll give you a trial period,” Shang Tsung continued. “One month, and if you are not satisfied you can walk away, no questions asked.”
A month's trial huh? He supposed he could do that.
“Okay.” He nodded, although not as confidently as he probably should have. “You have one month to convince me that your offer is worth my time.”
Shang Tsung smiled brightly at that, saying “you’ve made the right choice.” Seconds later, he was slipping his arm around Kuai’s waist, and gently ushering him towards the door. “Why don’t we talk more about the details over dinner. My treat, of course.”
Kuai didn’t say anything, but did allow Shang Tsung to guide him. He hadn’t realised how hungry he was until the word dinner had been mentioned. Right now, he couldn’t tell if he was doing the right thing, or if this was going to end up on his neverending list of shitty life decisions. He briefly thought of his brother, Tomas, of how stupid he’d probably think he was being.
Tomas… Maybe one day you’ll forgive me for all of this.
Kuai doubted it though.

A slight rant, I suppose. But it's more frustration than annoyance.
(under the cut because I don't want to spoil someone's day with this discourse)
I'm pretty much active in Twitter/X mainly because of the 1 Day 1 Hol Horse thing, but when I ventured deeper into the JoJo fandom, I realised the anti-proship discourse is just a huge WHY for me.
Like, why does this mess have to exist?
Why does one have the need to not interact with other fans in the same fandom, especially if they also share a similar preference?
Why can't everyone just like what they like, and leave what they don't, without harming actual fans, like sending death threats, trolling, doxxing, rallying hate etc?
To clarify, I've only known about this new definition of anti-proship about this year, when I got active again in the JoJo fandom. And it came to me in the form of being forced into a voting poll without my knowledge, and the fans that voted for or against my account labelled me a proshipper based on "problematic" fanarts from my Japanese friends and moots that I liked and shared.
It was the very first time I learnt what the bastardised definition of a proshipper is to these group of people.
Because during my anime/manga era, some good 20 years ago, proshipping basically means shipping whatever one likes and accepting that others may ship things one dislikes. We had terms like OTPs and NOTPs and BroTPs, and we use them freely to express love and acceptance, while also acknowledge what we prefer and what we don't.
Yes, there will occasionally be fans who will throw a tantrum about what others ship. They were the ones we call antishippers - the most intolerant of fans. They started ship wars, they send death threats, they doxx. They are the unhinged that most likely would kick a baby if given the opportunity.
Proshipper is actually a very positive word, and we love proshippers, because they're very tolerant, they work as middle men in ship wars, and by all things divine, most of them have really great artistic skills. Antishipper, nope, we don't want to be that. We hate that. We despise that.
But somehow the new generation seemed to shift the blame of all things bad on proshippers by changing the definition of it.
Depending on who you ask, proship could be a short to "proactive shipping", "professional shipping" or just "pro shipping" (as in pros and cons). All positive words. Now the new generation who most likely was never thought of how to explore fandoms at a young age, deemed proship as "problematic shipping".
The audacity to simply change the definition is palpable. Especially when I find out the kind of "problematic" things that they try to justify hating on.
Kids. Teens. Young adults. My dears.
Whatever "problematic" things you've seen in a fandom /ship /character now IS NOT NEW. It's not something that just happened to exist in a recent fandom to spite the younger gens. It has been there 20 years ago when I was underaged and older fans were making fanart of their favourites both "problematic" and not. Heck, probably way longer before for them as well.
If only you utilise some reading skills and maybe your library card, you can find the history of anime-manga was filled to the brim with "problematic" topics. It's a way of expression, it's a way of coping, it's a way of criticising certain factors like politics and people. Anime and manga has always been "problematic". That's a hard fact.
Virtue signaling especially if you're from the West is not gonna change that.
Also, I cannot stress it enough that fiction does not equate to reality. At best, it is an imitation of reality, in a form safe for consumption and indulgence that require no harm to real living beings. Once people can differentiate these, trust me, life will be so much easier.
While the definition of proship had seen a pretty twisted change, antiship didn't. They still did the same things, only now, the minors were dragged in.
Despite all, I won't deny there are absolute rotten eggs on both sides. There will definitely be proshippers who are so disturbing it scares even Junji Ito. There will also be antishippers who will do anything to spread more hate in the fandom, making it rather unlivable. And both sides have the capability to influence an attack on each other, or worse, take advantage of gullible, ill-informed fans, especially minors.
But if we stop lumping everyone into "proship dni" and "antis dni" lists, and openly, properly communicate and explore about likes and dislikes and preferences like old times, I'm sure complaints from antis like
"Why is this fanartist who draws / fan who like [insert ship] has to be a proship?"
"I like this fanartist's artwork but they are a proship, so now I can't see their stuff."
"There's not enough fanart of [insert ship/character]."
would be way, way less.
And I always wonder if these antis, who were mostly young teenagers of a sound mind, have a pending curiosity to explore something adult through fictional characters. Hence why, while they despise proshippers and anything not sfw, they still talk about it among themselves and draw lemony drawings, even to a detail I personally wouldn't share so openly. And why they still invade not sfw spaces even with a clear warning.
Because, I get that, I've been there, most likely as early as 12. Exploring sexuality is not wrong at that age, and it's already a correct method to use fiction for it.
But by pushing away people who had been there, who can actually help, is gonna continue making these antis be a hateful, intolerant bunch. And more easily influenced by actual real life predators.
And for the "proshippers", it's also pretty frustrating to see themselves being harrassed, blocked, and talked about behind their back from antis who never thought of maybe, just maybe, getting to know them first. Especially if they are not from the West.
So my advice to these antis and especially the antis who practically had no reason to be an anti, don't confine yourself into a small container and scream why it's too small. Fiction is there for you to explore reality and things that you can and will never do in real life. Exploring it is way better than suppressing yourself, as long as you know your own limits. Preference and discomfort are only evident if you communicate in a proper manner, not by bashing someone without them knowing and shift the blame of the discomfort you caused yourself on them when they had no intention to even present it to you.
We're in the same fandom. Sharing the same love for the same character and ships. I don't see why we should cut it down so meticulously just because one cannot separate fiction to reality.
As a pretty much seasoned anime-manga fan, especially in JoJo (I've been with the fandom since 2001, tbh), keep your mind open. Block and mute are always your friend if things get too overwhelming, but hatred shouldn't be the main motivator. Communication is key. If you want to know more, express your discomfort, discuss on characters / ships / fandoms...always communicate first. Never assume, never stab on the back. You might be surprised how helpful proshippers can be if you're just, for once, be nice.
That's all.

I’m a multi pairing shipper so I don’t have that many eggs in this basket, but you’re actually wrong about the ship explanation. Any characters who interact with each other can be a ship, ships are not based on reality, they are not based on what is in the text. A crack ship is when you’re talking about two characters who have nothing to do with each other or have minimal interaction but you like the idea of them if you look at them from a particular perspective etc. “Ship” is anything a fandom decides to ship two fully out of this world insane options like Harry Styles and Obama. So no, Elucien or Gwynriel are not crack ships or potential ships, they are based on preferences in fandom, they are characters who interact, they are in the same universe, it doesn’t matter if they are potentially endgame etc. However, even if we knew who ended up with who, that would still not make any of these ships “crack ships.” The best example I can think of rn is like Naruto or Harry Potter where everyone is shipped with everyone. Ships are not reality. A crack ship is defined as something implausible in canon, fully bizarre and many times it’s also funny. In ACOTAR, the closest you can get to a crack ship is maybe Azris, that’s s pairing that is very unlikely to happen and they don’t have that much to do with each other but they still have interaction. A full on crack ship is like Tarquin with Vassa or something where it’s just random chaos 😅
Thanks for your opinion anon👍
i will just point one thing out, and clarify my opinion.
I noticed you contradicted yourself when you said:
“Any characters who interact with eachother can be shipped”
Then said:
An example of a Crackship is : Azriel and Eris (Aris)
Those characters interact with each other and we don’t know their sexual orientation. Infact there is MORE tension between those characters than Gwyn and Azriel. And there is less of a teacher and teenager vibe(Gwyn comes across very young to me with sleepovers and friendship bracelets stuff)
As for what my opinion was ,which you can disagree with but I would encourage you to avoid saying people opinions are “wrong”.
I said Elriel is a “ Canon ship”, which means there is text evidence that the characters like each other.
So far that’s not a lie for Elain and Azriel.
I said Elucien is a “potential ship” characters that have connections that may end up together. But so far no canon that there is mutual attraction.
So far still not a lie for Lucien and Elain
I said Gwynriel is a “crackship” or i can call it a “fanon ship” characters that have no potential, nor do a they have any mutual affection for each other romantically. Gwyn and Azriel ship was made up in the fandom, it is not from canon.
Still not a lie🤷‍♀️
All ships, all are okay! 👍😊
A good example of a crackship in another fandom is Hermione and Draco Malfoy.
Jk Rowling said that it was always going to be Ron and Hermione. Fans like Draco and Hermione together which I totally accept as a crack ship and support anybody who wants to enjoy that ship.
If people want to say that they like the idea of Gwyn and Azriel as a “ship” fandomship then fine! 👍
But there is no cannon between them. They are not endgame potential.
That’s what I said. I don’t think it’s wrong. It’s an opinion just like you gave your opinion which is fine.
If you find this offensive or it distresses you, please block me and enjoy the side of the fandom that you like best.❤️🤝

If you are still doing them Squirrelflight for the warriors ask?
seuality/gender headcanon: oh this cat is bi. not sure on gender, prob just a cis woman
rating out of 10: 10/10 that's my friend squirrelflight
favourite thing about them: selflessness, determination, and absolute endurace in the face of everything that's been thrown her way because holy shit
least favourite thing about them: the fact that she's probably never going to divorce bramblestar. girl leave him
when i first started liking them: uhhh not sure. think it was a click in watching fandom content at some point rather than a specific moment in the books. i was pretty neutral on her when i first stopped reading around early tnp but actively liked her when i picked the books back up a bit later.
do i relate to/project onto them? not really i don't think.
fav ship: tough.... i don't think i've ever actually gotten super into a squirrelflight ship actually. squirrelflight x happiness, i guess. moonlight, tawnypelt or sol if you are forcing me to pick one but im not jumping up and down for any of those theyre all like ok at best lol.
fav platonic ship: leafpool, if that counts? have a bit of a soft spot for funny tnp roadtrip gang shenanigans as well but i can't point to any one of those guys specifically, they work best as a group.
ship i hate: feel like my least fav is ashsquirrel by default. especially considering the bizarre idea that used to be widespread that it would be 100% fine and healthy had squirrelflight never rejected him.
do i prefer canon or fanon?: uhhhh. i guess canon-adjacent fanon from people who actually like squirrelflight?
random headcanon: my mind has gone completely blank i'll get back to you later
what colour do i picture them as: pretty dark red! white paw is important, and i usually give her some white markings on her chest, face, and tail as well.
unpopular opinion: crowsquirrel has like. negative levels of chemistry and i genuinely don't understand why everyone on twitter got so into shipping them last year. hard for me to be invested in shrewsquirrel either when shrewpaw is barely a character. a lot of endeavours to find squirrelflight a better partner are appreciated but in vain sorry. also i don't actually mind the "squilf" nickname (which came from a bizarre kate cary tweet and NOT people calling her squirrel milf, to clarify) i think it's silly
song i associate with them: Dying To Believe by The Beths, Be Sweet by Japanese Breakfast, Every Day I Love You Less And Less by Kaiser Chiefs

Princess Parker -- 10
Rating: M Ship: starker (tony stark / peter parker) Tags: Minor Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers, Alternate Universe - College/University, Fashion Designer Peter Parker, Engineer Student Tony Stark, slow burn, stolen moments Summary: Tony Stark’s in love.
But not with the conventional. Instead, his soulmate is known for temper tantrums about pink lemonades that are too sour and scuffs on the toe of his Louboutin shoes. He’s materialistic, superficial, and cares way too much about his face.
So why can’t Tony stay away?

Also special shout out to my squad of sprinters and supporters (you know who you are) without whom this might not exist

10-- Behind the Universe's Back
"You actually came." A voice sighs with relief softly from behind Tony.
"Of course, I told you I'd be here, Peter. Why would I trick you like that?" He smiles at Peter from his place on the floor across the darkened room, the orange sunset streaming through the windows.
"I wasn't sure. But to be fair, I've never had anyone send me gifts and treats. I mean, people's heads turn when you do things like that." Peter approaches, sitting down crisscrossed in front of him their knees touching.
"Don't people's heads turn when you walk by anyway Peter? You're you! Not many people can overlook you."
"Oh, I know. But these looks are less of jealousy or distaste and more of curiosity. As though people can't believe I have someone interested in me."
"You come off like I do," Tony replies, simply.
"And how's that?"
"Play. Boy." he enunciates. "People think you're one and done. You don't commit and you prefer to be on the market so people can long for you." Peter's shoulders droop when Tony clarifies.
"Do people really think that?"
"Well... yes. I don't but I know better. What did you want to talk about earlier in the classroom?"
"I just wanted to know if you would be okay with this. The whole sneaking around thing. We'd have to meet in places like this where there aren't any people just to avoid being caught." Peter motions to the room around them, as if showing the absence of noise.
"I think I'm okay with that. People are dumb anyway. They tend to ruin the beauty and ignore the consequences. I know bathrooms aren't the cleanest places to meet but a majority of them in the science buildings aren't being used. We'd be safe. What are you suggesting we do in these secretive little escapades?"
Peter blushes a deep pink, and the sparkles on his cheeks catch the sunset. He looks fucking ethereal, but to Tony, Peter's already an angel. He sighs, kissing Peter gently. "Well, whatever you're planning, I hope it includes more of this."
"What do you mean?"
"Talking to you. You're so fucking smart and you don't show it."
"Shut up, Tony." He replies, a soft smile playing at his lips.
"Make me." Peter furrows his brow, leaning forward to rest on his hand as he kisses Tony. He sighs into the kiss, hoping the other can feel every ounce of longing Peter has kept pent up for the last three months.
"I need you to understand this, Tony." He states, "Look at me for this." Tony obliges, meeting Peter's honey eyes, "I. Want. You."
"Fuck." Tony states, not really to anyone in particular. As though the word itself awakened something in him, Tony surges forward and kisses Peter passionately, tilting him back towards the floor.
He doesn't fully realize what he's done until Peter cries out, "Ow! Fuck. I thought this floor was carpeting!" Peter sits up on his elbows, rubbing the back of his head with a giggle.
The other laughs softly, leaning away and helping to pull him up "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, that just really fucking hurt." As he leans in to connect their mouths again, his phone begins ringing in his pocket. "Really? I swear to gods the universe really doesn't want us together!" He pulls it out, seeing a call from MJ. "I have to take this. I'm so sorry. She never calls unless it's a crisis." Peter sighs, rising to his feet.
"No, go! Take care of that.” Tony says with a smile, as he stands himself. ”I’ll see you around, Peter. If you need me, you know how to find me." Tony backed away towards the door "Oh, and word of advice, if you're going to lurk on someone's Instagram, maybe don't like their post from 11 months ago." He backs through the door with a wink, disappearing into the hallway and not sticking around to see Peter's reaction to the statement.
"Did I really--" He shakes his head, answering the call as he walks towards the opposite door. "MJ, what's wrong?"
"Gwen and I went to a party, and one of her exes is here. We need a quick escape but neither of us can drive because we were drinking. Can you come to get us?"
"On my way." He replied, pulling his keys out of his pocket and pressing the button on the elevator door. "Where are you guys?"
"Cherry Avenue." She replies as someone cries out in the background. "Hey I'll call you back, Gwen’s gonna puke." She ends the call before he can reply, and he sighs, leaning against the wall of the elevator.
Why can't he just be with Tony again? Maybe they could watch the Randy Fernoli runway show for 2015 and eat popcorn. Gods, what he wouldn't give to be there with him.
In the parking lot, he approaches his car and unlocks the door. The rose gold chrome Audi chirps back as he starts it. The air blows gently against his curls and the soft sound of whatever playlist he had on last fills the car. He pulls out of the parking lot and heads towards Cherry Avenue.
_-_-_-_-_-_-
Tony arrives back at his dorm and catches sight of Dum-E playing with a box of wires. "Hey, hey hey!!! Everything is organized!! Well, was…" He rushes over, pulling against the arm. "Don't move anything! If you needed repairs you should have told me! Not attempted to do them yourself!"
_-_-_-_-_-_-
Peter rolls to a stop in front of the house to see the two girls moving from the porch to the car. Gwen's white-knuckle grip on MJ's hand becomes clear to Peter in the headlights. "Is she okay?" He asks, getting out and holding on to Gwen’s other arm.
"Yeah, she just had a panic attack. She just needs to get back to her room.” The two of them gently helped Gwen into the passenger seat. “I drove her here but I’m too cross-faded to take her back. Thank you for coming to get her." MJ kissed Peter’s cheek.
"Of course! Go have fun. I'll keep her safe." Peter hugs MJ before getting into the car himself and driving back to the dorms.
_-_-_-_-_-_-
When they arrive, he leads her to her room, making her a glass of water. "Are you okay? Do you need me to stay with you?"
"I'm okay." Gwen finally replies, "I just need to sleep it off." She hugs the boy, taking a sip of water. "Thank you for saving me. Really, I mean it."
"Always. I'm glad I could help you. If you need me, call and I’ll come back. Don’t you dare hesitate, Gweny.” Peter kissed his friend's forehead gently. “Rest easy.”
"Night, Peter."
