Jegulus microfic - Day 17 - Body
Word count : 309
@jegulus-microfic
Regulus has never been particularly aware of his body. He had always sort of floated around, following Sirius wherever he went.
He viewed his body as a means to do things. When he played quidditch, he trained his body like a machine, never really listening to its needs, more so pushing it until a goal was met.
But that was before James.
When Regulus first started liking James, he all of a sudden became self conscious of himself. Of his posture, of his body, of his words.
When he would be in the hallways, talking to Evan and James would walk by, he would wonder whether the way he was standing was awkward. But that's ridiculous because if he really was standing strangely, he would probably be uncomfortable.
He also became aware of his body's needs. Often he would stay awake, in his bed, dreaming about James next to him, caressing his curls.
By some miracle, James felt these things too and approached Regulus about them. Soon, unreturned gazes in the hallway became shy, soft, reciprocated smiles and whenever possible, Regulus would brush his knuckles against James’, content with their little secret.
Each touch he felt was now magnified. When James would put his hand on Regulus’ lower back to guide him to the room of requirement, he would feel tingles down his spine, aware of the hand grounding him.
James brought Regulus back to Earth. His anchor, holding him in place, preventing home from going astray. Even as they grew older, James would touch Regulus to bring him back.
And each time it worked.
Like butter upon a pan sizzles, like water always wets cloth and like the touch me not always collapses in itself.
No matter how indifferent Regulus tried to be, he always relaxed under Janes’ touch, feeling sparks all over the surface of his body.

Have I already shared the "Soap avoids acknowledging big feelings he doesn't know how to deal with by deep cleaning for hours on end" hc with the world? I feel like I have but I can't remember properly
Just imagine Soap getting news abt his family, someone being really sick/dead/dying and just. Dropping everything the moment the call is over to start deep cleaning any place that will take long to finish. He cleans until his fingers feel raw from the chemicals, his heels hurt from standing non-stop, and his nose stings from all the products. He'll even continue scrubbing down surfaces that he's washed 3 times already. Anything to keep his mind off of it.
He'll just refuse to stop, acting as if he doesn't even hear whoever comes in the room to talk to him.

HI HELLO ALYX FELL AFTER RUBY, NOT BEFORE
Ruby's first view of the Ever After. Keep an eye on the shells, trees, and starfish. Additionally, no footprints in the sand until she begins to walk through.
Alyx in the OP. Note the VERY CONSPICUOUS PRE-EXISTING FOOTPRINTS.
Alyx walking toward the beach, paralleling the footprints already there. Check out the shells and trees; it's slightly shifted to the right, but otherwise identical to pic #1.
