i think i niche'd too close to the sun, but my thought process was basically what if the navidson record was real in the gravity falls universe through an outside lens? (and also took place in the 80's) and then it made me think about how both ford and navidson are similar in their obsessions and need to figure things out over "caring" about the people around them, so narratively it makes sense, i think that ford would be too fascinated by the house to ever learn his name which is why he's referred to as "the stranger." i also wanted to show the difference between navidson and ford by having their cameras be different, ford's can only produce sepia while navidson's is in color. i don't think i got his voice down and it's probably clunky but c'est la vie this was more style practice than anything

I would have to follow it up #with like ''HOPEFULLY you can come over to my house in a few months'' or 'They'll come over in a few months MOST LIKELY''. Because just #stating that something will happen matter of factly takes for granted like.. what if somehting horrible happens and I DONT have a house #in a few months? or what if something bad happens to me. or to the person coming over? I can't ever DEFINITELY say with 100% certainty #that one could ACTUALLY come to my house in a few months. anything could change. So I have to allot for that in my phrasing. hbjjkn #There are a lot of situations where you're expected to just Assume Things but for some reason that bothers me. My brain literally does not #even Assume the most basic things.. like how do *I* know that just because it's someones birthday that they want to be wished a happy #birthday? what if they dont? everyone is different and has different preferences. I should check with them first. or wait until they public #ly announce that theyre accepting birthday wishes. I have to allot for all 5034859069 rare possibilities at any given time and never take #anything for certain. etc. ghjbjhbh.... ANYWAY.. I have been feeling a bit sick lately as usual.. but still slowly making progress on some #things. Moslty I need to edit costume photos. make sculptures. and work on the game. Going back reading some of the old writing from like #2018 and suprisingly I don't have to change that much of it? In fact I like it mostly. so that's good. I would be very interested if I were #playing the game myself. Book: Irene Adler “The Woman” is a famous opera singer and actress, and one of four people to ever beat Sherlock Holmes in a battle of wits. Adler loves her husband dearly and only keeps hold of the blackmail she has over the Duke in order to keep herself safe, and will never reveal the photo to the public as long as he leaves them alone. Holmes never shows any romantic interest in Adler, or anyone for that matter, and only ever admires her for her wit and cunning.

Every adaption after: Irene Adler is a femme fatale, hopelessly in love with Sherlock Holmes, and some combination of a wanted criminal and dominatrix. Adler is allowed to beat Holmes ONCE, in order to teach him humility, but after that he needs to beat/save her in order to adhere to the status quo, and undo the lesson Book!Holmes learnt in the first place. This is somehow more feminist.

#Adler you were done so dirty #although her case is so funny #Holmes knows he can’t force Adler to reveal the location of the photo #but deduces it must be in the house so she can collect it at a moments notice #so his big plan is to get HER to reveal it for him #by executing the most fucked up plan I’ve ever read #orchestrating an audience to bombared Adler as she gets out of a carriage #have them pretend to start a fight #get ‘injured’ protecting her and taking arvantage of civil hospitality that will require her to let him into her home #and while he’s lying on the sofa he has Watson throw a cracker through the window #shout FiRE at the top of his lungs #where Holmes will immediately chase after Adler in the middle of the chaos #because in his own words ‘people instinctively grab what they value most when there’s a house fire’#spots Adler grabbing the photo #then runs out the door explaining to the staff he feels much better know and thanks the host for her hospitality #then the next morning they go back to the house to grab the photo while she’s out #only to find out she and her husband already fled #because Adler was smart enough to realize #something batshit insane happened last night so maybe they should move their plans forward and just runaway to America already #good job Holmes #that was your most subtle work to date

#this is such a niche gripe i guess idk its why it's in the tags #but i really get so annoyed by how a lot of this fandom acts like they know everything about her especially like where she goes #and what she does in her free time because they think they KNOW about everything but #all you know is what she chooses to show you like specifically paps like...... she calls them. all celebs do. 99.999999% of the time #these days it's how that industry works which i KNOW for a fact but like don't take my word for it if you don't believe me fine #but it's how it is and i can tell you that from professional experience but also like #the amount of friends and people i know who've seen her places all over the city for YEARS now #and there are no pap photos of her in those places nor did anyone know she went to that building/restaurant/bar/event #there are a feeeeeew places in the city which are celeb hotspots and the paps might skulk around there but that's cuz #they are known spots for that and waiters and staff tip them off for profit shares #like i know someone who saw her literally last night at a restaurant #there are no photos of her there and no paps outside #like if you think she doesn't leave the house or go somewhere without you knowing cuz you think she's papped everywhere...#thats just simply not true lol couldn't be FURTHER from true #she goes so many places and does so many things that you just don't know about. it's VERY easy to live a private life in the city #EVEN THIS WEEK she's gone more places than you've seen her getting papped at cuz i know people who've seen her!#i can't tell you the amount of famous people i've come across in these situations and the press and social media were none the wiser #people i've sat next to at a crowded brunch counter or people walking their dog or taking their kid for a bike ride like.... my 7 yards of silk-rayon burgundy velvet has been handwashed, dried, and properly hung up so it won't get creased before I get around to cutting out my pattern pieces

#and now I am le tired #sewing #fabric #velvet #my sewing #Yule dress #velvet Yule dress #Very Fancy Santa Hat #I did end up with a couple of teeny tiny marks from when I hung the fabric to drip-dry on the line before I could put it in the dyer #there's one visible in this photo if you know where to look #I've seen some techniques for getting those kinds of marks out of silk velvet but I'm not going to worry about it right now #once I actually lay this out to cut out pieces for my dress and Jack's hat (and whatever else this fabric ends up being) I'll deal with it #on an as-needed basis and not like. scouring the whole 7 yards for every little imperfection #generally it came through the washing and drying process FANTASTICALLY and is actually way less creased and marked than it was before #and I'm not such a delusional perfectionist as to think that I can keep velvet looking photoshoot-pristine when worn in real life lol #but at least this way I won't have to baby the fabric and fear spilling something on it and being unable to wash it out #and actually the silk brocade I washed for my Rhaenyra cosplay last year held up so well that even when I DID spill an alcoholic beverage #the dress just completely shrugged it off. I used a wet napkin on it at the time and it's completely disappeared #don't listen to anyone who says you can't get silk wet. you just have to wash it and dry it BEFORE you sew it and then it's fine #I bought this fabric from SYFabrics.com if anyone happens upon this in the tags and wants to buy similar fabric #highly recommend SYFabrics they have never failed me

#Whatever here’s last night nothing interesting happened nothing matters and I have no photos but these. at least I’ll remember i was there #It’s something #it’s some experience #Uncomfortable vibe for me and the people who actually talked to me were high schoolers so I didn’t hang out really #and didn’t follow when they left to get picked up #I got one instagram and felt like I didn’t really have much in common #Guy who invited me preformed before I showed up and he looked to uncomfortable to talk to me after just saying hi to eachother #I once again got high as soon as I was offered weed and just went quiet and sat in on the conversation without really connecting #I wrote down some names so I at least didn’t forget them while high #Didn’t realize the music would be so death metal-y so I stood away and smiled while wearing my snoopy shirt and rainbow bracelets #A fair number of men making eye contact way too repeatedly but silently without followup #without anyone approaching for just a light convo first made me feel scared and i didn’t even want to be approached anymore #A lot of pressure for showing up without someone familiar to stick with #Felt like everyone had made up their minds on me from the stares and if I approached any of them I was just giving a green light on myself #Either they already decided I was boring or already decided that if I said anything to them they would try to hit on me #Way too interested before if said anything is obvious like anything they say to me is just gonna be them like #forcing conversation they dont care about to get to what they already wanted #me

around 6 o'clock (east coast u.s. standard time) some guy from fucking australia, with no mutual friends obviously, friend- and message-requested me on facebook saying he hoped i didn't mind the add, but "you came up in my recommended and are the cutest ginger i've ever seen." and it like literally gave me chills because holy hellllll, how the FUCK did this guy find my profile? i have no public posts; i hardly ever comment on public posts; i don't post in large, active groups; etc etc etc etc so it creeped the FUCK out of me. sometimes fb puts ppl w no mutual friends in my "people you may know" but, creepily enough, they often are people i... know, if not have some sort of mutual connection with? like they might be old classmates or friends of friends creating new profiles (so no mutual friends yet), etc. and this is true for ppl who also don't have info on their profile saying they live in/near my hometown, went to my school at some point, etc. like THAT is very creepy how meta somehow knows that. but this guy from australia i am absolutely sure i have no connection to whatsoever. WHY WOULD I???? i have no connection to australia at all other than a couple of mutuals i have on here.

so anyway i took a screenshot of the message and showed it to my friends cuz i was freaking out about it and needed to get that off my chest and one friend was like "why dont you block him" (me reading that 4 hours later) and im like you know what i didnt think it was necessary but not a bad idea. and i go to check the message request and the message was unsent, and he also deleted the friend request. lmaooooo. maybe his girlfriend found his phone

I could/should elaborate when I’m not falling asleep as I am rn but like. I feel like for the people who you “mourn” who have died young and/or suddenly who you knew only in passing, or only casually interacted with, or were once close to but in the years between then and their death you barely spoke, etc etc etc, you arent actually mourning them or their presence in ur life (and now palpable absence) (supposedly) but just what it means to be a human on earth who has to grapple with inevitable loss and the immense weight of what a Person is and their footprint on everyone they interact with that is fleeting even tho there are several billions of us on the floating rock but none of those billions of lifetimes are ever overlapping 100%…. sigh :/

this may be because i am just a hater but a ballad of songbirds and snakes sucked

#i listened to the audio book and the narrator was so bad which i think contributed to half of my dislike for the story #he would do this shrill “um actually” voice for Snow's classmates #and an annoying girlish tone for lucy and maude and the singing he did for both characters actually made my ears bleed #but i digress #i just didnt really like that snow's evil backstory is a manic pixie dream girl he killed #i wish it wasnt a love story i wish collins did something different with his character #i really loved his betrayal to sejanus it made so much sense for his character it worked so well applause for that one #and also sick how he stole sejanus' money from behind the photo frame after executing him #sent it to tigress to have money #and then intercepted it before it entered the capitol to use for himself #all that just to become the heir of sejanus' grieving parents lmao #dirty dirty dirty #last point i loved how they didnt include snow's betrayal to Tigress in this novel #i was even thinking in the beginning of the novel that i hope snow does not betray tigress in his youth #just bc ... idk.. so much happens in our lives. and for his evil to all be explained in snow's life only from this age of 17/18 would feel #lazy #so yeah grateful for that slay suzanne collins slay

Misc daily life images

#image commentary in tags once again since they don't allow captions anymore and I feel weird using the alt text for that --#1. COLUMBINEEEE... (I think..???) one of my favorite flowers... I managed to grow a small one in a pot last year. huzzah #2. spicy soup for lunch (another very rare lunch since I usually eat literally the same exact thing every day for my stomach #issues and stuff lol).. also made a fruit smoothie but put tapioca boba in it out of curiosity.. which was weird #3. woven cucumber shavings.. one of the many little meticulous tasks that I find oddly fun and could probably do for hours #4. A RED FOUR LEAF CLOVER!!!! There are some patches of clover in the yard that have weird red coloring and red spots on them #almost like it's some sort of damage or something but it seems natural (and I wonder if it has to do with plants that grow around them at #all since these 'green clovers but where some of them are variously spotted in red' patches happen to be next to patches of weeds/#grouncover that also have red stems and stuff.) but so in the yard it is rare to find a red clover #and also rare to find a four leaf clover. so a RED four leaf clover is the most rare... special child..#5. bapy son on the heating pad (featuring my stinky little toast shaped 2ds lol... i wonder if theyve been obsolete so long that maybe #3ds are actually affordable now (under $100).. hrmm...)#6. Another wii fit mingame score. I'm not sure if this is even lower than the other ones or anything. I never go back to compare them lol #if a score seems good enough to possibly be my best I just take apicture of it anyway. I should probably at some point check what #the 'best' even actually is. I wish the wii always told you ur Best score instead of just your Last score on those games. It does on every #other game but seemingly not the daily fitness check in minigame ones. hrmm..#7. little clovery things covered in beautiful water droplets #8. sky again. of course #photo diary
