Mark Lee

You know that it was Mark who's ringing the doorbell nonstop, but you were ignoring it. Tears are falling and your members are worried for you and Mark. They knew that you two are in a serious relationship but the moment you two went on public, the backlash was on you. It can't be help especially when you're not really popular in Korea. You can't deal with the public criticizing you and even forcing you to leave the group. Overwhelmed by it, you decided to just call it off. But your leader pats your shoulder and tells you that you and Mark should talk about it, and before you could talk, Mark's already hugging you. Your members left you two and you couldn't help but to cry. Mark comforts you, hugging you even tightly than before. He promises you that he'll protect you, just don't break up with him. Knowing that you love him so much, you only nod, feeling safe in his arms.

Huang Renjun

It started when you open up your worries to him. Showing the hate comments flooding all over your social media. When the news confirmed that Renjun is dating a non-idol, you didn't expect that his fans were able to find you and send tons of hate comments. They called you names, saying that you're ruining Renjun's image. Overwhelmed, you seek help from your lover and unknowingly, you slip off the fact that you want to call it off. Renjun was surprised with your words, overwhelmed with the stress too, he accidentally raised his voice. You two began arguing, going on for an hour and so. If it wasn't for Dreamies entering the room, you two would've probably really broke up. Being intervened by the boys, you two made up and Renjun promises you that he'll take care of it, just don't leave him

Lee Jeno

You're really bad with the timing because you sent a message to Jeno in the middle of their practice. It was simple, "Let's break up." but it caused panic to the poor boy. He got up, ignoring Mark's words that they're not even finished with practice. Jeno ran all the way to your place since you were not picking up. After a few knocks and doorbells, you opened the door. Both of you are surprised. Jeno sees how puffy and red your eyes are, while you were surprised to see Jeno when you know that he's in the middle of a practice. Before you could say anything, he pulled you to a tight hug, burying you in his arms. You couldn't help but cry, remembering all the threats that was sent to you after your dating news confirmed. Jeno knew why you sent that, assuring and comforting you that he'll take care of everything, just don't break up with him.

Lee Donghyuck

You know about ships but you never know that shippers will go to this extent just for the sake of their ship. You couldn't help but read all the comments on your instagram profile. You've already set your profile to private but it keeps on going. You let out a sigh, seeing a long message at how your relationship with Haechan isn't real and that he's actually in love with his co-member --- until Haechan grabs your phone away. You watched as he reads the comments and scoffs. And before you could even say a word, Haechan hushes you down. He knows where this is going and honestly, he doesn't want to deal with it. That's why he pulls his phone, taps a long message and sents it on his bubble. "That'll shut them out." he says, then proceeds to pull you closer to him. 

Na Jaemin

You two met up when you decided to tell him that you two should break up. Jaemin was confused, he wanted to hear your side but you shut him off immediately. It didn't take a minute for him to follow you and tried to open it to him. You broke down, crying at how you're causing pain to your fellow members. It's not only you who's taking the hate, the whole group's under fire for no reason and you hate that your members are in pain because of your dating news. Jaemin quickly understood what you meant. He assures you that he'll take care of it, just don't break up with him, and true to his words, you saw the next day that Jaemin's filing charges. 

Zhong Chenle

You couldn't help but feel guilty. You've been assured a hundred times by him and your co-member, but the worries never left especially when the whole world is against your relationship with Chenle. It should be your co-member not you, they say. Your co-member is a darling, a nice and talented ace while you, you're the leader of the group, but people don't really attention to you. Chenle and your co-member were mc for a music show for two years and people loved their chemistry so much. That's why they think that you don't deserve Chenle. After texting him that you two should just break up and that he should just date your co-member, he called you numerous times. Telling you that you're being ridiculous, that she's nothing but a mc partner and it's you who he really love. And if it's not enough, Chenle even went to your place just to assure you, making you break down and cry into his arms. 

Park Jisung

You couldn't help but feel guilty of breaking up with Jisung. It's hard especially when they think that your dating news with him is just nothing but a pr stunt to cover a nationwide scandal. Despite some people believing that your relationship with him isn't real given that: one, you two are under SM, and two, you two have interacted many times that they think that it's enough evidence to think that it's fake, some people still sent you hate comments. Tons and tons of message was sent to you that you don't even want to open your phone anymore, and before you completely shut off your phone, you called it off with Jisung. It didn't take a few hours for your members to approach you, telling you that Mark is calling them about Jisung who's been crying nonstop. You couldn't help but feel guilty, that's why you went to their dorm even though it means risking your image. Once you reached the Dreamies' dorm, you went straight to Jisung who apologized to you and yet, you apologized to him too. The two of you were crying there for hours until you two promised each other that you two will get through this together.

Jaune felt a lump in his throat as he was mentally shitting himself silly as he stood infront of a large apartment, the temporary home of one icy heiress or as she was actually named. Weiss schnee.

Jaune tried to calm himself down as he was thinking to himself.

Jaune: come on jaune, you were in a war with a immortal being surely a little date shouldn't be freaking you out.

Jaune: oh but what if I mess up and shes still holding a grudge against me for everything I did in beacon? Oh gods what if there's karaoke and she thinks I picked it because I wanted to sing-

"ENOUGH". That word rang through head as he took a deep breath and exhaled.

Jaune: get ahold of yourself. You got this. Just knock and ask her out. It's not like she's gonna freeze you as soon you ask. Hopefully not... Maybe..

Jaune raised his hand and was about to knock on the door before the door opened as one ice queen was standing in front of him as she frowned as she was on the scroll with someone.

Weiss: i keep telling you, I don't care if this could help with raising the SDC up, im not going to take that deal. Now please stop calling me.

Weiss hung up as she seemed pissed before finally noticing jaune.

Weiss: oh. Uh hello jaune, I was just coming out to get some air, what did you need?

Jaune just looked at her as he seemed a tad worried.

Jaune: business troubles?

Weiss: one of my father's old business partners are trying to stay a part of the board of executives and tried to suggest we partner with some rival company, galaw dust manufacturing I think was its name. Regardless, once again, what do you need?

Jaune: oh well I wanted to know if you wanted to hangout with me and ruby at the hall of huntsmen.

Jaune: liar. Just say the damn truth, don't wrap more of your friends up in the potential humiliation

Weiss looked at him before sighing. She looked away before shaking her head and redirecting her gaze.

Weiss: apologies jaune but I'll have to decline. I think I've had my fair share of ruby fangirling over the huntsmen and huntresses of old.

Jaune: oh. Ok well I'll see you around then.

Jaune turned and began walking away before Weiss spoke

Weiss: very well, and jaune. Your terrible at lying.

Jaune stopped in his tracks as his face went pale before looking at a smug Weiss.

Weiss: I've been around fake faces throughout my childhood, I can tell when someone lies to me. I have some coffee brewing if your interested.

Jaunes brain was still processing the fact that Weiss called out him on his very bad lie. Until the rest of what she said hit him as his face was redder than Ruby's cloak with a stupid smile plastered his face.

Jaune: welp. Might not got a date but we still get to hang out with her.

We cut to a cup of coffee with the schnee family crest on it, with jaune looking in aw.

Jaune: how did a coffee brewer make this? I'm used to the basic settings for designs.

Weiss: it didn't, I did. Besides it's a simple design.

Jaune: wait, when did you learn to make coffee?

Weiss: turns out, Blake is an incredible barista, though considering how long she reads her... Filth I'm not surprised she makes coffee.

Jaune: oh. That's neat, and thinking about it, it makes sense, also wait did you just say Blake reads po-

Weiss: POINT is, yes I can make coffee, so don't act like it's a miracle.

Jaune: right yeah, sorry.

Weiss: now, onto a lighter subject, I have a game for both of us, however it does involve alcohol so if we do play you'll be here for night. For obvious reasons.

Jaune: understood snow angel. Whats the game?

Weiss: two truths, one lie. With the new rule of if whoever spot 10 lies in a row the loser has to tell an embarrassing secret that they would normally take to their grave. Make sense?

Jaune nodded as Weiss smirked, she got up and soon came with a bottle of whiskey and wine as well as with two shot glasses.

Weiss: one last thing. If one of us gets it wrong, we have to take a shot so pick your poison jaune.

Jaune nodded before taking a long look. Before eventually grabbing the whiskey bottle and shaking it a bit. Weiss just nodded and pushed the wine aside.

Weiss: round one. I'll start easy. I never had a pet, I had a ton of stuffed animals, and I hated my brother for being a suckup.

Jaune: uh the second one.

Weiss nodded as jaune smiled.

Jaune: now my turn. I'll increase the difficulty a little. I wanted to fight Neptune when I first saw him. I faked my transcripts and I sniffed my pet dog Shelby's ass once.

Weiss thought about it for a few moments as she seemed to find her answer as she seemed confident in it.

Weiss: you may have been a dolt but theres no way you faked your transcripts.

Jaune nervously chuckled at that before clearing his throat.

Jaune: I... Did fake my transcripts.

Weiss went quiet before her eye twitched.

Weiss: you mean. You faked your transcripts to get into beacon, w-why?!

Jaune: i never got any training from my dad and wasn't allowed to go to any combat schools, so I never got a letter of recommendation or the chance to actually get an authentic transcript. So I uh.. faked mine.

Weiss went quiet again as she simply poured herself a glass. As she looked at him.

Weiss: are you sure you faked your transcripts and you aren't just lying to yourself?

Jaune: I'm sure Weiss.

Weiss:so what was the lie?

jaune: I did have a dog named Shelby, but I never once sniffed her ass.

Weiss:... I can't believe I had enough faith that you were trained

Weiss takes a swig before placing down the glass as her face had a tinge of pink.

Weiss: m-my turn. I can hold my liquor more than my mother. I thought Neptune was the ideal guy for awhile and Im Really sexually repressed, like if I could i'd try every position and understandable kink, atleast once.

Jaune: as much as I wish the last one is a lie, your already blushing after oneshot. Your a lightweight Weiss.

Weiss:... I hate this game now.

Jaune: you suggested it. Here if you want I can get the next one wrong on purp-

Weiss: don't even FINISH that thought. If we're doing this... We're playing fair... Even if its BULLSHIT how you already have TWO in a ROW.

Jaune just nodded and chuckled softly at the heiress's aggravation.

Jaune: ok. My turn. I met ruby after you and her had the... Incident, yang for some reason was my wing woman during beacon, and i could beat pyrrha in a arm wrestling contest.

Weiss just looked at him and narrowed her eyes.

Weiss: no way on the gods green grass you could beat pyrrha at arm wrestling.

Jaune: yep. Anytime we did she'd always win.

Weiss: figured. No offense but during beacon you were a noodle compared to the rest of us

Jaune: no offense taken. I definitely was a noodle during beacon. Though technically I still am

Weiss: not really. You have gotten a lot more definition to your body.

There was a small pause as Weiss went red as she looked away.

Weiss: f-from the surface level atleast.

Jaune smiled softly and the night continued on as the two would talk and drink. Enjoying this moment of bliss. Who knows what fate will have for them but whatever comes.. these moments will always be priceless.

So I was thinking...

Yesterday, the article about the BTS contracts hit. I read the article and didn't get the big deal. It said they would sign...so they hadn't yet, I thought.

I went to twitter and saw all these people celebrating and I was like...do they not know how to read? Why are they celebrating something that hasn't even happened and that the company is saying will happen.

Why would the company not wait until it has actually happened to make a celebratory article? So I went back to sleep lol

Promise? Oh yeah. What a contract. The board agreed...not BTS. Well, only Rm so far.

But then legit people started talking about it and being serious. I saw the many ridiculous tweets and hateful ot7love remarks, solos being dissapointed, and real Jimin fans feeling sad.

That's when I decided to "believe", although it sounds like media play to me. Why are the stocks tanking even more? Investors didn't believe the news or think Rm's post were enough, apparently. Nothing is set in stone. It hasn't happened yet. The stocks will go up when it actually does happen, though. The investors are worried for now and then future, I suppose.

As someone who loves Jimin and his artistry, I am worried too.

Ot7s and company stans want to make us feel like we are the akgaeist of the akgae for believing that Jimin got sabotaged by his company. But do people seriously think that all that happened to FACE was normal? They can't even offer a rational explanation.

Even if we entertain the idea that his company didn't sabotage him on purpose, they still didn't protect their artist and fix the things that were and are within their reach. Things like:

•Combining Like Crazy Korean and English version

•Restocking the Like Crazy single

•Sending albums to China on time

•Investigating Hanteo sales

•Investigating the erasure of Bb sales

•Properly timing the release of other member projects to avoid interference with other projects

•Fixing the Spotify profile and all that stuff that came along with that

The list is quite long.

Somehow, saying these things makes you a solo or an akgae or a manti (who even came up with this one? so stupid.)

Isn't it more hateful to normalize what happened to Jimin and to want BTS back despite the unequal support the company has given each member?

The people I know don't want Jimin to sign because he deserved better as a soloist and not because they hate BTS. The people I know are neutral and positive towards BTS. They literally only want fair treatment for Jimin. They are Jimin fans. Not solos, shippers, ot7s, rando labels. Just people who appreciate Jimin as an artist.

Somehow, the people who want BTS back, no matter what, and can't wait for the solo ventures to be over are better than all of us... because BTS is 7 and they are brothers who love each other and nothing can break them apart...not even solos, akgaes, shippers, and Chapter 2...(insert sad violin music).

Everything is backwards in this fandom.

I look at the members who told their story and shared themselves through their music and notice how happy they are. They were exhausted before, so done with the generic white garbage songs, and their creativity constricted. We've gotten to see the colors of their real music and therefore, their real selves. That's what being a true artist is about. I don't know how ot7s who want BTS back, no matter what, don't see this.

It doesn't make sense to me why any proper fan would want their artist to give that all up.

And people kept saying that this time around, Jimin's contract would include better deals because that's what contracts are for. Then I thought...where was the contract when he was pushed to the sides and no longer in the front of the group, when he was given 2 lines in a song, when he was the harmonizer but not one of the lead singers, when FACE era began and ended.

I guess I have no faith in contracts. Or that company.

Any proper fan who doesn't live in a weird fantasy bubble should be worried...and/or dissapointed.

If there is anything I've learned in Chapter 2, it's that it is a every-man-for-themselves chapter. Looking back at Chapter 1, it was like that too, except I was drinking too much of that purple kool-aid to notice it.

I guess we will see what happens when actual contracts are signed. I can only hope that things go well for Jimin. That's the only thing that matters to me.

So, with this tiny drama with Hans and sociopathy, I decided to ask a friend of mine, who has ASPD, what he thought of this whole situation with Hans. A bit of history - as you all know, I like Helsa, so back in 2014 when it was revealed that Hans was a sociopath, I went into research mode to try and discover more about this. That is where discovered Sociopath World, a website made for sociopaths to discuss how they navigate the world and to give advice to 'empaths'.

This is where I met my friend - we'll call him BG. BG is a clinical psychologist, film buff, and, as said, diagnosed with ASPD. Now, I didn't directly ask him about Hans at the time, I just asked him about the Hans - Elsa dynamic a lot without using their names (cuz, you know - I'm a shipper lol) we've been friends ever since, and I ask him all the time about film characters.

When I started talking about Hans and sociopathy more recently, I got an anon where someone questioned if I should be talking about this, so I decided to finally ask BG about Hans. I shared with him Jennifer Lee's comments, some posts within the Hans/Helsa tags, and of course recommended he watch the movie. To my surprise, he did it fairly quickly and sent me a reply today.

Few things to keep in mind - BG is very blunt, so sorry if you find some things he says a bit offensive or accusatory. Also, keep in mind (something he mentions as well) that he doesn't speak for everyone who has ASPD. Also, don't worry, he knows I'm posting his response here. I did edit a few things for privacy purposes. He knows this too.

Now, I originally wanted to include his response in my Hans and Sociopathy post, but to make sure that the post didn't end up being too long, I decided to place it here instead. His response is under the read more.

Thanks for contacting me, I always like evaluating people’s fascinations with ASPD. This is a unique one, a cartoon character. I’m usually asked to evaluate Elsa (spoiler, she’s not a sociopath) from this movie, so it’s a nice change of pace. Prince Hans is a sociopath. Let’s get into it.

So what we first have to establish about anyone trying to defend those with ASPD are their motivations. No one defends those with ASPD just for kindness's sake, not unless they have a positive experience with someone in their life (which is exceedingly rare with ASPD). Here, we’re talking about a cartoon character that was first established as a ‘good’ and then turns ‘evil’ for a shocking twist.

From what I’ve seen from this character’s fans, is that they focus heavily on the ‘tragic’ backstory of said character and the end-game motivations they have for him. Which in this case is the fact that they want to pair him up with other characters with their morality not being questioned. From what I’ve seen, that’s all they care about. They see an attractive character that they think has the potential to be paired with another, and they are upset that this attractive character has traits and behaviors that they are opposed to. Look, I know it sounds mean, but none of these fans would really care if the character was not attractive, charming, and easily paired with the female leads. That is the main motivation here.

I’m not saying they are not interested based on the character’s own merits and intrigue, they like to speculate about his past and childhood. But given the most popular depiction is him is with the female leads in a romantic sense, it is very obvious where the fans stand and why they are defensive of him. He’s attractive, he’s charming, he was really nice and chivalrous at first. But the reality here is that they are in love with who he is pretending to be. It honestly looks like the cases I deal with every day with real ASPD and Empath couples. The empath in the relationship is always making excuses for the sociopath, and I have indeed had cases where the empath denies the diagnosis. It’s really interesting to see this in behavior in fan spaces as well.  

Now, here’s the thing. I don’t really care about film representation. Most people I know who also have ASPD don’t care either. We don’t really care about the things that empaths place on a pedestal. We don’t care about role models or feeling accepted and represented. Empaths always make us out to be villains or funny anti-heroes because they can’t fathom our behaviors being used for good. It's a reality we face, especially in this day and age when feelings and being empathetic dominate the social world. There is no easy way to showcase a sociopath being a hero within empath standards. Our definition of a sociopath being a hero is getting what they want. Hans would be a great representation if he got what he wanted. Do I speak for everyone? No. But honestly, I question anyone who claims to be a sociopath and actually cares about empath’s feelings towards us, or bases their value on fictional characters like what empaths do. Especially since most people who have ASPD are not even diagnosed, they can’t exactly question a representation of something they don’t know that they have.

Let’s change gears towards the comments the director made. The critique you got was that there isn’t enough evidence to support a diagnosis of ASPD with Hans because the narrative doesn’t explicitly state it and we don’t know a lot about his past; so can’t make a genuine diagnosis. In most cases, that would be correct. However, the director makes it very clear that her intentions for the character was for him to be a sociopath. She wrote him with this intention and made sure to depict him in that way. Thus, we don’t need to see his childhood or even make a diagnosis based on his behavior. He is written and labeled as a sociopath, so he is one. End of story. Sure, we can critique how the depiction was handled, and even the motivations behind making him a sociopath, but it doesn’t change the facts of the character.

I went a little off track here, but I feel this needed to be said first and foremost. Let’s get back to the actual comments. She states that she has a sociopathic mind and that she was writing him based on these traits. She also stated later that Hans being sociopathic was more interesting. You can even see the excitement she has when the person she’s talking to says “he’s a talented Scoiopath” and she says “He’s very talented!” She loves this aspect of him. It's her pride and joy. She obviously thinks sociopaths are interesting and cool, to the point where she thinks she may have some traits. Here, we know her intention behind it was romanticization. Is it a bit weird? Yea. It’s weird. She's romanticizing a disorder so it's always weird. However, the depiction was still fairly accurate. Cartoony and villainized, but accurate.

Which I guess leads us to the actual depiction. He’s a very typical Sociopath. Not much else to say. He has the sociopath stare, he mirrors behavior, he hates that his brothers dared to ignore him, he jumps into danger without a second thought, and smiles when he’s about to commit murder on Elsa. It's kind of funny how accurate he is. It’s like watching a comedy show where they say something relatable and you can’t help but laugh. The director says that her stand-out moment for him was when he questions Anna’s comment of being ‘just her’. For me, it’s when he stands up after being knocked out by the blast, without even acknowledging that he’s in deep shit, and just says ‘but, she froze your heart!” I laughed so hard. Only sociopaths would do this shit. “Anna, how dare you. You should be dead.”

I was wondering what your thoughts, headcanons, or possible aftermath fic scenarios for this "what if?": What if Usopp had been there with Chopper and the other doctors when they witnessed Sanji get his exoskeleton against Queen? What would Usopp have felt? What would he done? Once Kaido was beat, would Usopp have gone and brought it up with Sanji? Sanji sure the fuck didn't bring it up with anyone and probably swore Chopper to secrecy...

I've been saving this post to write a proper answer to these questions because I think it's such a good and interesting topic that it deserves my attention 100%. Or at least that's what I've been saying, but if I'm being honest it's just that the whole topic of Sanji in Wano affects me personally and it's not exactly my favorite subject (It really is, though. I love it. I just have to be in the right mindset). And since I am drunk and sad I am going to try and tell you what I think. I sincerely apologize if there are any typos here, btw.

Your question kind of reminds me of what I always say about Usopp being in WCI. I personally think he should've been at least either in WCI or here with Sanji when his body got altered. I don't think it's fair we got to see Sanji with Usopp back in Water 7 when he was the most vulnerable but we didn't see Usopp with him when all of this happened. I don't know. Perhaps I'm a bit biased because I'm a Sanuso shipper and Usopp fan, but I really would've liked it.

I think Usopp would've been confused, just like all the other characters witnessing this, but he would've known instantly that something more was going on. Like. It's not only that Sanji's body is getting altered, but that it's affecting him emotionally. Usopp would've known it was upsetting him. And tbh since he saw Sanji wearing the raid suit for the first time, it isn't hard to like, draw your own conclusions. He probably would've known it had something to do with it. Perhaps he would've tried to help with the fight but Sanji would've told him to stop (because he's stubborn and a fucking self-sacrificing idiot and also he was in the middle of a breakdown) and Usopp would've started panicking, basically. Reading Sanji's movements to see what's wrong and panics even more when he sees him not getting hurt the way he should. And when he sees his whole body being, uh, out of place, and Sanji not getting hurt by it, he just starts panicking even more. Like, here we have to keep in mind he doesn't know anything about what happened back at WCI. He knows. But he doesn't know. You know? Anyway- The thing is that I don't think Sanji would've given him the chance to express his feelings because he's in the middle of the fight and because he definitely does not want to talk about it.

Personally, I think Usopp would have brought it up and that's sort of why Oda didn't put him there (and because Usopp was doing his Usonami shenanigans with Ulti and Paypay) (I never talk about Ulti and Paypay I fucking love them wtf). It's a journey Sanji has to go on his own. It's his "nothing happened" moment. The only ones who know something's wrong are Chopper and Zoro, and they for sure won't talk about it because Sanji definitely told Chopper to not say anything and Zoro is... Zoro. Anyway. I think Usopp would've tried to talk about it with Sanji and Sanji would've told him that it's not that big of a deal. That it's nothing. He'll get over it on his own. And tbh I am making it Sanuso because I am the Sanuso princess and I can do it:

Usopp asks Sanji what happened back there, and Sanji refuses to answer and tries to ignore the question. Tries to laugh it away or whatever. Usopp knows something is wrong, of course. Of course he knows, because Sanji has been like an open book ever since WCI happened. Long story short, they have some back and forth with Usopp demanding to know more because he cares about him and Sanji trying to ignore his questions. But, yeah, Sanji ends up yelling and telling him the truth and he instantly feels like shit for yelling at Usopp and scaring him and that only makes him hate himself more. hi! i have a few questions about proshipping.

what is it, exactly? most of the stuff i've found is from an anti perspective and i want to hear from a pro perspective

also, is it kind of like pro-choice where you can respect peoples right to do something while not doing it yourself? so like respecting people for reading/shipping whatever they want while you might not ship those kinds of ships/engage in the content?

like for me, my trauma definitely impacts the content that i engage in, but i understand that people deal with trauma in their own way and that can come in proshipping (not that everyone who is a pro shipper has trauma)

Proship is, at the very core, very simple!

Ship and let ship -> a similar enough idea to pro-choice, yes! It just means that you're allowed to ship things I personally dislike, and vice versa, as long as no one is being harassed or directly, intentionally, and maliciously harmed in the process.

Don't like? Don't read. (DL;DR) -> if you know you don't like a trope/ship/character/etc., don't go out of your way to search for it, and certainly don't go around leaving nasty comments on stuff you don't like. Just close the tab, or hit the back button, and be on your way.

Dead Dove: Do Not Eat (DDDNE or just dead dove) -> similar to DL;DR, but with emphasis on tagging. Essentially, it means "read the tags and don't be surprised when you encounter said tagged topics in this particular work". This goes both ways, for author/artist and for reader/viewer. Authors and artists have the responsibility to tag their works accurately and thoroughly, and provide content or trigger warnings when necessary. Readers and viewers have the responsibility to fully read the provided tags, filter out topics they find upsetting or triggering, and to know their own limits. In the event that someone is triggered or squicked out by something they didn't realize would be an issue, it's also their responsibility to take a step back and practice some self care while they calm down. ♡

The Golden Rule -> simply, treat others how you would want to be treated. This should apply to everyday life, as well as when interacting with folks in fandom spaces.

A few more things!

× Proship, as a stance, is also inherently anti-harassment. No one should be harassed, ostracized, or abused because of their likes and dislikes regarding fiction. (However, I'm also not naive enough to believe that no proshipper has ever harassed an anti. No community is flawless, and I don't doubt we've had our share of dirtbags.)

× Not all proshippers like "problematic" ships. We all have different limits and boundaries when it comes to what we enjoy and what we are squicked out by.

× Creating or consuming dead dove content as a tool for coping with trauma doesn't work for everyone. But for those it does help, it can provide a sense of control over traumatic situations, offer a safe and controlled means of catharsis, assist in recontexualizing trauma, and help people connect with other survivors and find a sense of community. Sometimes it's nice to know you aren't alone in your experiences. ♡

× I have never personally seen a proshipper say with their whole chest that "fiction doesn't affect reality". What I have seen said is "fiction is not reality, don't treat it as such" and "fiction does not impact reality on a 1:1 ratio". Reading, writing, drawing, thinking, or creating something fictional is not the same thing as actually Doing The Thing in real life.

Also, just to clear it up: proship does not mean "problematic ship", despite what many antis like to say. The prefix "pro-" is just the opposite of the prefix "anti-".

Anyway actual question! I'd love to hear why the Claire/Steve dynamic appeals to you. Whether that answer be about the characters or anything (or if you don't want to answer at all, that's totally fine too!), I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as a fellow burnfield shipper/writer. It'd be like a little author's commentary track for when I reread your fic!

Thank you again btw, your comment on AO3 had me totally elated; I didn't really expect anyone to actually read my fic, and then actually like it 😭

The boring part of why I like Claire and Steve together is because they are both two of my favorite characters. Steve is my #1 favorite RE character, and Claire is in my top 3, I just love them both a lot!

But on their actual relationship, I'm a huge fan of characters that would do anything to protect the other. Claire starts CVX and DSC clearly not expecting much from Steve (and in CVX, I'm sure it doesn't help when he gets caught in that trap in the Palace really early on and she has to rescue him lol), but there is a clear, gradual warming up toward him as the game goes on, even if she's hardened up a little since the events of RE2. She's very gentle with him even when Steve can be a bit difficult, like when he has to shoot his dad and is upset afterward or when he says guns are more reliable than people. Her reaction after his death which i'm still in denial about haha is just gut wrenching, she seems so distraught and it shows how much she'd come to like him.

And from Steve's side, he's obviously lonely, dealing with the tragic circumstances of being imprisoned by no fault of his own, his mother dying, the disappointment of what his father did. He has a hard time trusting people, and that extends even to Claire early on. I just love how you can see his feelings for her start to grow and how he finally has someone to trust.

One of my favorite things about the Cleve/Burnfield ship are the times Steve is quick to try to protect Claire, even though she's obviously the more capable one. He's just a civilian and is clearly coping with the horrifying situation they are in with humor and things like that, but even so, he still does things like rush in front of Claire when they confront Nosferatu. It's just so sweet ❤️

And even if Darkside Chronicles isn't technically canon, it's so fun seeing Claire and Steve together for almost the whole game. They grow to have such a fun, playful rapport with one another. Darkside Chronicles also gave me one of my favorite moments when Steve is ready to pilot that plane out of Rockfort Island and Claire puts her hand over his and they pull that lever together, ahhhhhh it's such a short but soft little gesture

May I ask why you dont like chris and piers together? (Thats totally fine but im just curious)

for me it hits too close to a teacher/student dynamic bc they clearly have this mentor/mentee kinda relationship where Piers looks up to Chris and has followed his guidance for a long time. and as a teacher, the mere thought of being into one of my students is ...ridiculous? lol. like. not even something to consider. never in a billion years. not saying they look up to me but the dynamic is still weird :'D

sure by the happenings in re6 Piers is also very experienced already so he's not afraid to speak his mind and he does so on multiple occasions, but the origins of their relationship still remains. and Chris is still his commanding officer. Chris can pull rank. Chris has the final word. technically only on the field but I'm having a hard time imagining that it wouldn't spill into their private lives too. and that's gross. it's an inherent power imbalance that just gives me the ick.

like. I COULD see it work if someone put their A game into it and handled it properly, acknowledged the issues and showed them working through those. but usually that's just glossed over. if a fic for example would move them to different teams or otherwise solve the power issue, and would acknowledge Piers growing out of the hero-worship he started with lol, then it could work. but that's not what happened in ANY of the fics I tried to read when I first got into the fandom. it was literally always just ignored in favor of "cute puppy boytoy and big gruff captain" and... no.

I am sure there are people out there who give the pairing the dynamic it deserves but at least when I got into fandom and tried to find that, the overwhelming majority of the fan content just. didn't. hopefully it has changed.

(this is also coincidentally why I'm not into the remake Krauser/Leon because they have a similar type of dynamic and I am not into it. at all. them being so much more equals in the og backstory hits all the right notes for me while the new version alienates me further. but I digress.)

(I also find it gross how the day Piers died is somehow turned into a cutesy-wutesy pairing celebration day instead of acknowledging him as a person, acknowledging the massive sacrifice he made to save the entire damn world. it always just turns into "he saved Chris! <3" while sure he did but more importantly he did it for the future, like he says himself, and I think he deserves mad respect for that. basically it feels like the shippers don't let Piers exist as a person of his own, and he only has the right to exist as a half of a pairing. which. rude. literally pick any other damn day for the pairing. let Piers get the respect and memorial he deserves.)

but when it turns into ot3, when Leon is added into the mix, I find it way easier to deal with the whole dynamic because Leon changes it fundamentally. he doesn't work with either of them, and idk, he balances things out in multiple ways. so there I can get past the issues I have with Chris and Piers and just focus on what would undeniably be a fun dynamic if you only look at their personalities.

and i admit i am not immune to their argument in re6 lol when Chris pushes Piers against the wall my brain always chants "kiss kiss kiss kiss" even tho I'm legit not into the pairing :'D

Wolfstar for the ship ask

Ah, yes, I did expect wolfstar to be in the ask box. Well.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that I do NOT ship wolfstar, esp. if you follow my blog posts. Long post ahead, but there are a couple things I want to make clear before I explain my thoughts:

I'm not against wolfstar shippers; I don't make value judgments against them because they ship something that I don't. If anything I write below indicates something against the shippers as human beings, it is not meant to be read that way. I mean to write about the ship itself.

Why don't I ship it? There are a lot of reasons for this. First, I'm more of a canon shipper. If it's not explicitly canon, I'm very unlikely to ship it. Second, I never saw Remus and Sirius as more than friends (with a somewhat complicated friendship, even in their youth). It came as SUCH as shock when I started reading fanfic (in 2021) and found that there were so many Sirius/Remus fics. It just didn't cross my mind, at all. I did actually try some of those fics, esp. the more popular ones, and just didn't "buy" it, if that makes sense. Third, I can't imagine how they would get together at any point of their (canon) lives. Sirius can be quite mean and insensitive. In canon he really only has tenderness/kindness for one person, and that's Harry. Remus is a bit of a doormat at times and not especially exciting or appealing to someone brash like Sirius, even with the werewolf business, a source of shame for him. Remus needed someone softer, kinder, and more patient. Sirius needs someone with a solid backbone. Yes, it could be dysfunctional and there are dysfunctional relationships, but I can't even see them getting off the ground as a couple. It's got nothing to do with orientation, either: I would ship James x Sirius and Peter x Remus way faster than Sirius x Remus. Sirius needs someone strong, confident, and will deal with his bullshit, Remus is NOT the person who will actually stand up to him and challenge him in the way he needs to be challenged. Remus needs someone who will put up with his nonsense and challenge it gently, consistently, and positively. Sirius just doesn't have what Remus needs and vice-versa. If canon were written differently or it was an AU, we're talking about something else. But if we're talking canon Sirius and canon Remus, I can't see any relationship for them other than a fraught friendship.

What would have made me like wolfstar? One of two things, I think. First, if I'd gotten into fanfic when the books were still being written, there might've been a chance early fanfic would've swayed me, e.g. in the way I read the characters or the story. Second, JKR would have to tell us that they were together and provide some context for it. I really don't see Sirius x Remus working together, even as a dysfunctional ship, because they wouldn't have a ship to start with. I do see the appeal of putting two characters together who could have chemistry, but I don't see the chemistry or the potential for it, which is, again, why I don't ship wolfstar.

Despite not shipping it, do I have anything positive to say about it? The ship itself - no. I do, however, have positive things to say about those who write and ship wolfstar, which is what I'll discuss instead (and the only time I'll discuss wolfstar shippers in this post). Though I can't see any potential for their relationship, I have read some nice fics with them as a background couple that capture other parts of their personalities well. I do appreciate that there are lots of people who love Sirius and Remus and choose to write about them, shedding light on different parts of their personalities and quirks, even if I don't think they make a couple (bad or good). I am also grateful for the diversity that these writers bring to HP fan fiction in general, though we disagree on how we see these characters or ship them.

Wolfstar has gotten more complicated for me to discuss and think about because of my engagement in fandom. I know some very lovely fellow fan fic friends who read, write, and ship wolfstar. I am appreciative of what they bring to fandom, even if I disagree with the ship itself, and it doesn't change my opinion of others if they do or don't ship wolfstar.

The only time my opinion is swayed on someone in fandom is the way they discuss characters or ships that leads to misogyny, sexism, racism, homophobia, etc. We'll have a problem if things are shipped/not shipped because of these reasons, but not if the reason you're shipping or not shipping people together is because someone likes them and thinks they work together.

This one's hard! I write a lot of fluffy one-shots where the point is the happiness? Like, Days of Splendour is literally about Weilan getting their happy ending wedding.

Similarly, Pivot is a fix-it ending for Critical Role season 1, in which Vax doesn't die and Gilmore gets to date him, too.

And The Fringe Benefits Of Being Family is fluffy future kidfic snippets in which Weilan get to be parents while their girls grow up.

Do you get hate on fics?

I once got a backhanded compliment on a fic where the commenter asserted they didn't usually read this ship because the shippers are all sus for shipping it and did it wrong, but my take passed their sniff-test. But they'd keep a close eye on my next work for this ship, just in case.

I vaguely recall getting a comment once and then immediately deleting it, but I can't for the life of me remember why. Probably for the best?

And there was that ask I once got that sticks in my brain because it was HILARIOUS. It asserted that because I have a recognizable style and used things like. Grammar and paragraph formatting for pacing, my writing was dry and boring and the worst and I just was copying myself with every new fic. I screenshot it and had a good laugh with friends over it :D

Yes, and a lot of different kinds! Sometimes I want to explore certain kinks, like tentacles (What Lies In Darkness, Weilan with eldritch!Shen Wei) or D/s (Good Vibrations, Dom!ZYL with sub!Shen Wei). Other times I just want to explore the relationship between the characters (Special Occasion, Weilan birthday blowjob) or worldbuilding (Long Night In Longcheng, Weilan canon au with dragon!Shen Wei).

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

The closest I got (that I'm aware of) is someone copying the exact premise of my fic in a beat-by-beat way without crediting me for the inspiration. It was memorable because it was my most popular fic at that point and the fandom didn't have a similar premise before.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Recently someone Furimmer translated my story An Intimate Touch into Russian! First time someone found my fic worth it to translate, I'm so happy still just thinking about it :D (It's also interesting to see they chose a different snippet to highlight in the summary, ha! That one seemed to resonate with them more. Can't blame them ;) )

Of my unposted WIPs, if I've moved on from the fandom, I'm unlikely to put them up. That's why I posted a deluge of WIPs when I left the ragehappy fandom, because I couldn't see myself picking them up again, but I also regularly regret not e.g. having posted certain Naruto fic way back when I was writing them. Now the quality just doesn't hold up to my current standard, but I'm not going back to edit them, either.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I'm pretty good at dialogue and fighting scenes! I practiced writing fighting scenes a lot because they used to be one of my weak spots, and now I'm comfy where I'm at skill level wise. I like pitting characters against each other, too, though I still have room for improvement in that area.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Environmental storytelling. Character conflict that lasts longer than a handful of scenes. 15k+ longfic (I'm terribly at keeping myself motivated to write them and then never finish). Slow burn and character/relationship development that takes a while to get to (keeping characters consistent but still having them change is hard to juggle! Especially since I have a tendency to write scenes out of order)

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

If it's a language I know, I'm comfortable with it! It needs to be done for effect, though. Unless we're talking prefixes/suffixes and other addresses of respect/relation that just don't translate well (e.g. yifu, shixiong, xiao/lao, -kun, -senpai, etc.) but reveal information about the exact way characters relate to each other.

First fandom you wrote for? Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (back on German fanfic site Animexx). It was a self-insert OC portal fic where she ends up with Seto Kaiba xD I think I named her Leia or similar? I forget.

Favorite fic you've written?

The fic I'm writing for FFFX rn is a serious contender for top spot, if I manage to pull it off the way I imagine it.

I'm still pretty proud of Two Of A Kind (Guardian, Ya Qing/Zhu Hong & Shen Wei) and Safe In Your Hands (Weilan, post-canon with smut). The older a work is, the more I tend to see the flaws in it :') so my answers usually tend to be pretty recent stuff!

It is kinda annoying to read messages/posts like that. And I have the feeling that there are more people now, who think they have to rebuke others that way. On the other hand, perhaps I’m the wrong person to determine this, because I’m only in the fandom since 2020. Was it always like this or is it a recent development?

When I get a message like that, I don’t answer. I just post/ reblog a lot of shyan content. 😊

And one last thing. Here is my wild, unimaginable & super crazy theory: Most (if not all) people, that enjoy shyan content, don’t ship them irl. We don't "ship ship" them. and it really is. and tbh, it's definitely not a recent development. it's actually a lot more tame than it was before (at least on tumblr) like yea sure there are some occasional times that ppl hate in the tag or send hate to blogs, but it's very minimal (thankfully). because either we just block or ignore the hate and most of the time it gets them angered while we're minding our business sldkjf

i would say like 2018/19 when it was its worst. believe it or not, shyan shippers and non-shyan shippers got along really well during the beginning of the fandom, like it really was super chill. but then of course like all fandoms, peace had to end and backlash started and it became really bad to the point where people had to leave. it didn't affect the boys tho which is good, but people were still harmed and i had to leave myself (before i made this blog) bc it was pretty bad.

but now it's def better than before!! like we keep to our spaces and non-shippers keep to theirs it's not a big deal.

and god LITERALLY like we aren't actively rooting for them to get together it's just a fun little thing we like to do. we stay in our little fandom space and that's it, it's not doing any harm to anyone. and we absolutely adore mari and sara and respect their space too as we should. and right, as long as we know our limits we're okay!

Last night I for some reason was really convinced that it would be soo so so so so so so so so easy to craft a scene where gohan and shrapner kiss a little in the locker room. The idea of he and shrapner having a homoerotic moment in the locker room is a year-old concept to me that DOES NOT COME UP EVER becasue it’s not a part of the dballz cinematic universe for realsies (I think I mentioned it twice on this blog in that time and I just dont think of it ever & it's not important & it's a throwaway thing) and it was for my fanficiton Gohan & Videl Bisexual Adventure becasue I needed him to have something to talk about to kick off the story. So what I'm trying to say is that, like, this is old, but new to me, becasue last night I read my old fanfic again and for some reason it just got me thinking....

To me then it seemed that it would be so so so so easy and simple to craft such a scene , not just a homoerotic scene like previously delineated, but they kiss even, like it seemed to be so easy and so not a big deal. I would have written it if it wasnt almost 1 am. I dont know if this makes sense. I don't know what you want me to say

happy new year 2023! it's already january first for me and i'm sorry for not posting this on new year's eve like i usually do, life has been... difficult. i'm glad we're all here and i'm glad everyone reading this made it this far. i love you all, seriously you're all amazing and i'm glad you're here.

i could sit here and thank all of you all day but. i really do love and cherish every single follower, everyone who likes or reblogs or comments on my posts, everyone who has ever continued the spicy micheal joke, the people who share headcanons or ask for mine, the yujikirisuna shippers, the light novel vs anime discussions. i love all of it and all of you. this year was so so difficult. for so many reasons. and this blog has been such a beautiful way to spend my time <3 i hope we'll continue this for the next year, and many years after (i'm never leaving this website)

2022 has been a real rollercoaster of a year. on the one hand, i got to do some really wonderful things that i've wanted to do for years, and on the other hand, some really terrible things happened that i'm still emotionally exhausted from. so here's something i didn't do last year: a recap of my year, because i didn't give you guys much about me irl this year.

in january, my brother reached out to us and asked if we wanted to meet with him again. this was a really big deal for us as my brother cut off almost all contact with us for around 7 or 8 years. rebuilding our relationship is slow and at times painful, but i'm glad to have him back.

february was a big month actually!! i got an iud and hysteroscopy which was a horrifying experience for me both from dysphoria and ptsd. i had a terrible, painful recovery. but, while i was still under the anaesthesia and struggled to type, talk, hold my phone or form a coherent thought, i texted an old friend who cut me off in 2021 and asked if it was okay to talk again. i wanted to apologise and i wasn't expecting forgiveness or a second chance, i don't really know what i expected at all, but we started talking again. i'm beyond thankful for that second chance and i'm determined to be better this time. i turned 18 a week later on the 27th. i genuinely spent most of 2021 in a blur and i didn't think i'd make it to my next birthday, so i was quietly very proud of myself.

in march i got my first tattoo!! i got my fairy tail guild symbol with the bi pride colours and a galaxy in it. it meant a lot to me and designing it with my artist was incredible, it looks exactly like what i pictured since i was 12 years old and first started wanting to get it tattooed. layer in march, on trans day of visibility, i started testosterone!! it's been slow and i don't think i've made any real progress, but just starting it made me feel so hopeful for my future.

in july, i started going to tafe. i was doing a makeup course that i had no real passion for, and it only made my self esteem issues and self confidence worse. i dropped it after a month because i was crying on the train every day.

in september i travelled insterstate to melbourne for crunchyroll expo!! i saw the sao exhibit which was fun and i got to cosplay asuna and yuuki. i got to meet one of my best friends irl for the first time after knowing them for 4 years, we actually met through sao, and hugging them felt like a dream.

in october, on kazuto's birthday, i got my second tattoo, his elucidator. he means so so much to me, carrying a piece of him under my skin forever is so special. then i was back in melbourne, this time for breast implants. it's something i've wanted my entire life (no exaggeration). because of complications i was born with, i needed surgery as a toddler to close my stomach. as a result, my skin and muscles are stretched so tightly across my chest that, as a teenager, i never naturally developed boobs. it got in the way of cosplaying a lot and destroyed my self confidence when i cosplay, so after begging for years, i finally got implants. recovery fucking sucked, emotionally and physically, and i actually have to go back in a few months to reposition one (my muscle wasn't strong enough to hold it in place properly lol) so i'm dreading that, but i'm glady body is starting to look like how i see it in my head.

in november i had a pregnancy scare and it was emotional and terrifying for all the worst and best reasons. while that situation wasn't great, i want to be a dad more than anything, and in late november i finally got the news that i can start ivf next year. my fertility issues are an ever-evolving journey, but i'm excited to see where this takes me in the next year, and hopefully this time next year i'll be experiencing new years with my baby.

the rest of the year was honestly very uneventful. i'm so thankful for all of you guys, my emotions have been a mess this year and this blog has been such an outlet for me. i love you guys, from the bottom of my heart, and happy and safe 2023 <3

I'm excited for tomorrow cause we all know the spin off will have a great audience, just want to see those bitter carylers who thinks they are the such a big deal to the point they can influence a show audience and turn into a failure.

They were talking a big game like how they were going to boycott the first season just for them see the spin off get good reviews saying it's the best the walking dead thing since early days and people getting hyped to watch.

Omg stoooop them trying to boycott the show bc they didn't get what they wanted was the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time and that's why I say some of them are entitled af, they were really saying that if they don't get Carol and Daryl to finally be a couple that they will cancel the show and that they (the writers; director; producer) were "basically "playing the fans" like baby bffr you're the one playing yourself here, another thing that would also piss then off so it would be kinda amusing to watch but also I don't love it myself but not for the same reasons is if Daryl got with someone in the spinoff they would hate it bc of their precious ship and I would love to see them try to cancel the show like they wanted so badly, but I gotta be honest I'm also not the biggest fan of the people that pull ships out their asses and I think him getting with someone now wouldn't make the most sense, but their reactions oof it would be something 😬

It's probably going to be Alexis. I support women's rights and wrongs, but I think she was in a damned if you damned if you don't situation. Is she just gonna let Sam bleed out? He lived and found his soulmate, or whatever, and seems pretty damn happy all things considered. I want to die as much as the next person but... idk. Doesn't seem like there were any good choices.

Oh also? I hate the idea that the fandom needs to be welcoming to minors as a whole. I love when youths are into a fandom and make friends online, because that's what I did when I got on Tumblr pretty much a decade ago! I'd just like them to do it in their space for minors while I do things in my space for adults. This is a joke but I want more worldbuilding lore of how society functions. I love the lore for like the sky gods and all the old magic but I JUST WANT TO KNOW PRACTICAL SHIT. What happens when vampires go in the sun and does it change with age? How alive are vampires? Why don't my wolf shifters have knots, this is a real problem for me. How big are magical cities? How big is Shaw security? How big are most packs? Do all shifters form some sort of pack/collective group? How do empowered people get access to empowered resources or the internet or radio or tv? Do vampires piss?

More realistically, I wasn't super satisfied with the Quinn ending which isn't a big deal, but I definitely felt like Darlin got wubified by Sam and David at the end. I'm sure some people liked them taking control, but that's the last thing I'd want. Just personality differences and also not the worst thing.
