I personally thought Kyle is an INFJ because while he needs socializing to thrive - from what i understand of his character, he is someone who values the crowd and have interest in it and the harmony of everyone; yet he is more of an observer and his idea doesnt always align with the bigger movement like an ENFJ. I'm pretty new to mbti so my thought could be incorrect (my understanding of his type and behavior came from this post: https://twitter.com/hachichimitsu/status/1537650752109223936?s=20 )

Yeah, I’ve seen hachichimitsu’s posts on tumblr too and they’re really well put together! I agree with her on what Kyle’s cognitive functions are, just not in the order…. She sees him as a dominant Ni auxiliary Fe and I see him as a dominant Fe auxiliary Ni.

I’ve explained my interpretation of his cognitive functions a couple years ago here, but basically I just don’t think Kyle relies on intuition as much as he does the moral code he’s developed by taking in outside influences such as religion, his parents, etc. That’s not to say he isn’t intuitive, because he is, it’s just not his most dominant trait, in my opinion. I think he values social cohesion and doing what’s best for the highest number of people. When he makes decisions, it’s based on the greater good (or what’s he’s convinced himself is for the greater good), and he’ll often sacrifice his own comfort and well being for the greater good, as dominant Fe’s also tend to do. In addition, Kyle wants appreciation and approval for his decisions and his sacrifices, he needs other people to tell him he’s good, and smart, and selfless. Kyle having auxiliary Ni allows him, on his best days, to listen to his gut and understand that he needs to make compromises sometimes, and on his worst days (when he resists Ni) to become meddlesome, overbearing, judgmental, and irrational because his Fe is being overextended.

So… idk, ENFJ and INFJ are very similar, it’s just a matter of what you perceive as the most dominant function and how they relate to each other in the stack (FeNiSeTi vs NiFeTiSe). I’m not an expert either, this is just the conclusion I’ve come to for Kyle. If it’s something you’re interested in, there’s a ton of info out there and it’s pretty interesting stuff!

Part 1

Indy: Hailing from Brazil, Indy enrolled in Orwell U on a full ride as a means to further herself into a career as a flight attendant. She is described to be a firecracker and someone who tells it like it is. Indy is part of a long family line of Banshees, so she's had practice with dealing with the plane of the dead. Will this year at Orwell U be any different?

"Just a few extra pounds wouldn't hurt."

Joseph: He's a meathead with a short temper, a big mouth, a heart of gold, and an even darker secret. During an impromptu doctor's appointment as a child, he was injected with a serum that rearranged his entire genome. It didn't just awaken the latent lycan gene, but it also fused with DNA from a minotaur, making his transformation much more unique compared to other chimeras. Will he be able to keep his secret while mixing power with pleasure?

"I'm kind of big dog around here. The streets say I major in frat parties."

Pooch: Given the nickname "Pooch" by shortening his family name, his place in the supernatural world is almost ironic. He comes from an extremely affluent family, allowing him to get by on mediocrity, which annoys a lot of people around him. When he was bitten at 14, he was unsure about wanting to become a werewolf, especially after learning that the alpha who bit him and their pack vanished without a trace three years later. With time, he came to accept his place in the supernatural world and rise in the ranks of the Delta Chi Alpha fraternity.

"I've been through a lot, seen a lot of shit happen, nothing's pretty to me anymore."

Monte: Having been turned into a werewolf at a young age, he had to deal with so many changes to his life all at once. In between a tumultuous family relationship, being raised by a single dad, and the other parental figure in his life (his alpha) getting killed, Monte remains jaded toward the world. Nowadays he acts as treasurer to the Delta Chi Alpha fraternity and uses his frustrations as motivation to power through the day.

"You seem lost. Let me help with that."

Daniel: A lost soul with a burning grudge against the supernatural, Daniel eyes the town through the windows of the vintage record store he owns. By day he services customers with his musical knowledge, but at night he leads the hunter clan that serves to hunt any supernatural creature they deem to be a threat to Orwell U and surrounding areas. Does Daniel have his eyes set on a higher bounty?

"I think I've broken the code."

Paloma: On the outside she may seem like your ordinary ditzy basic bitch but those gears in her brain are working on overdrive. Similar to Kyle, she was also recently bitten, but her inner snake-like personality enabled another transformation into a Kanima. They say that the shape you take reflects the person that you are... will she complete the full transformation?

"It's been a weird day, I need to take a load off."

Turner: Turner surprised the supernatural world by revealing himself to be a different type of Kanima, one whose transformation is more gradual and drawn out. He credits his history with marijuana towards slowing the Kanima transformation, making him less susceptible to a hard influence from another. He considers himself a lone wolf and lives/travels in his van when he's not making artisan rugs. He could be often seen at parties offering stuff for a good smoke.

"I see everything. I do everything to keep this campus a safe haven."

Terrance: As Dean of Admissions at Orwell U, he has seen many students come and go, some human and some supernatural. As a Beacon Hills native, he's always felt the presence of the supernatural realm, and after the incident with the Anuk-Ite, he established a rapport with druids in the surrounding areas to keep the region a safe haven. The presence of a Hale attending college has alerted him to keep a close eye, not just to protect her but also to curb whatever adversaries might come the school's way.

Progressive of Power Panel 2 "Highlights"

(First things first, you should probably take an hour and a half of your time to actually watch it and form your own opinions. I'll try to be unbiased but we all know that's impossible)

Catra and Adora were just whispering about dumb kid stuff, obviously. Made up stories about Shadow Weaver, touching each other's hair, etc. There isn't a deep secret about this.

Adora is the repressed Lesbian, Catra is the yearning Lesbian. Adora would get so into their relationship when she actually realizes.

There's a deleted B-plot about Castaspella, Angella, and Shadow Weaver going to the spa.

There's a deleted Princess Prom scene of Angella getting Prom Photos of Adora and Glimmer, except it's they're posing for a court painter. Also a scene where Scorpia shows Catra her weird flying Scorpion car thing we see at the end.

Micah originally commented on Glimmer and Bow's relationship in a protective dad way.

There might be a faction of First One's left, it's a mystery of whether they're still out there. Maybe an offshoot of Mara's Rebellion.

Mara was originally a He-Man character, but she didn't really base her off that character outside of design. The Mara from the reboot was originally a completely seperate character and was jokingly called "Brittany." Noelle chose Mara because she has the same name as one of her favorite Star Wars characters.

Noelle's theory on Madame Razz is that she's basically a glitch in the matrix, when Mara isolates Etheria she gets dislodged from linear time. When Adora breaks the sword and brings Etheria into the greater Universe, she's healed. Also, in the original show Bible, there was a running joke that Razz dated everyone on Etheria. A joking example is her having an ex that was literally a sentient ball of flame.

The flashback scenes were edited to seem more magical and alive, examples include insect calls and Dinosaur noises.

Double Trouble was originally going to be more of a Femme Fatale, but Jacob Tobia helped shape them into the theater kid we love.

Everyone on the crew has an idea on Flutterina and her fate. Noelle believes she was made up by Double Trouble, based on a little girl they watched in a coffee shop that is none the wiser, while the rest of the crew likes to think she's dead.

Noelle supports the Double Trouble and Peekablue ship, but doubts the real Peekablue acts the way DT played them.

Glimbow is a more subtle mirror to Catradora.

The host relays an email calling Entrapta and Hordak good disability rep. Noelle doesn't directly comment on that.

Hordak and Light Hope are parallels, both created for a specific purpose but breaking from that programing.

Shane Lynch called Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket a "boy Catra"

So a white cis straight guy asks Noelle what stories he can tell. Noelle talks about the importance of minority voices and keeping opportunity doors open for POC and other minorities, it's not about what you're "allowed" to write but instead elevating marginalized voices. Noelle hopes that she can use her success later down the line to influence executives, who are often the reason those voices aren't being heard.

Glimmer's "titty crystal" in her season 4 design is just a piece of a queenly clothing. Glimmer doesn't have wings, the idea is that her little wings are sort of like birthmarks.

Two and a half to three years pass between season 1 and 5, the crew was expecting season 5 to be split with a time jump between.

Here's the big one. There was an inside joke that all of Bow's brothers had punny rhyming names. Oboe who played the Oboe, Gogh who was missing an ear, and I quote "Which one of Bow's brothers likes to till the fields? Sow."

Entrapta absolutely built her own robot parents.

There is probably more than one language on Etheria, the crew never really thought about it.

Laura Sreebny likes to think Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio open a bar in the Crimson Wastes. Noelle likes to think Double Trouble would hire then for theater.

"Believe in yourself God damn it" is an Adora outtake the crew loves, a lot of Scorpia's dialog was improvised.

You had briefed the case on the plane, on the way to New Jersey. Two boys had been taken and killed and, a third child had gone missing; Kyle Murphy, a seven-year-old boy.

Once the plane landed, one group of you—you, JJ, Aaron and, Spencer—went straight to the precinct to investigate. The other group—Derek, Emily, and David—went to the Murphys' home to further investigate the scene and observe the press conference. The case moved very quickly since we were on a strict timeline. What we didn't see coming was the fact that Kyle's brother was the one who killed him. The case was a rough one, and everyone was feeling it.

The flight home was silent. You and Aaron were sat side by side, David and Derek across from you, Spencer on the couch and, JJ and Emily in the seats across the aisle. You had been reading a book until you were unable to focus any longer. Shifting in your chair, you turned your body to see Aaron better. The two of you chatted amongst yourselves, trying not to draw too much attention—for the sake of keeping the relationship a secret. However, you knew it wouldn't be able to go on as a secret for much longer, given the fact the two of you were surrounded by some of the best profilers. So, together, you decided that you would announce your relationship to the team. Because you were a team member, you were ok with the rest of the team finding out on their own, but Aaron insisted on a formal introduction. He was very persuasive. Together, you decided to make the announcement on Friday over dinner at your place.

Today was the day! Friday came quickly, the nerves of announcing the relationship coming faster as the dinner got closer. The decision to have dinner at your place was significantly influenced by the fact that you had yet to meet Jack in any capacity. You had already filed for a half-day, needing the time for cleaning and cooking, and Aaron pushed the papers through.

You hurriedly walked into the FBI building, trying to arrive to work on time and also to avoid the chilly weather outside. You made it to your office just in time. Setting your stuff down, you immediately started on your paperwork left from the case earlier this week. The morning passed in a blur, and surprisingly, no one had interrupted you. Finally, the alarm you had set on your phone went off, alerting you that you were done at the office for the day. You put your coat on and gathered your belongings before leaving for the day. You went up to Aaron's office to update him and then headed on your way out of the office.

As you walked through the bullpen, you said, "Dinner at my place tonight. At 7, Garcia will send the address. See you later."

You rushed to the grocery store and flew through, getting everything off of your list before heading on your way home. You drove up to the gate, and the guard walked to your window.

"Miss Y/L/N, welcome home." He said with a smile.

"Thanks Norm. I am expecting some guests this evening, if you could please alert me when they arrive."

"Will do Miss." He started on the way to open the gate when you asked, "Are the kids home Norm?"

"Annie is with them, they are with her in the guest house."

You gave him a nod and a smile before driving through the gate and towards the garage. The butler, Oscar, met you in the garage and helped you carry the groceries in.

"How's your day been Miss?"

"Its been okay Oscar. How's your day been?"

"Its been swell Miss."

"I'm glad to hear it," "Are the lounge and dining room prepared for tonight?"

"Yes Miss."

"With the specifications I left?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Thank you Oscar,"

He left the kitchen after you dismissed him, and then you began to prepare dinner. You got to work chopping and peeling and slicing and dicing. After you placed the chicken in the oven, you went upstairs to get ready.

A quick shower later, you were working on your make-up and doing your hair. Simple make-up and sophisticated hair-do were decided on. You slipped into your black dress and black pumps before making your way back downstairs. The time you had left before the team arrived was filled with cooking and adjusting the place settings. Just as you placed the last wine glass onto the table, your phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Miss Y/L/N, your guests have arrived. Please check the camera to confirm before I let them in."

You walked over to the monitor before answering Norm, "It's them. Thank you Norm."

You then hung up and walked out to the foyer to greet your teammates. You opened the door, and Oscar walked out, taking the keys from each of your friends as they walked up the driveway. They all walked inside, and you watched the expressions on their faces change.

Turning to them, you said, "Welcome to my home."

The team was wide-eyed and looking around when David said, "Bella, I always say I have a mansion but your house… it's absolutely massive."

Gesturing, you said, "The house belongs to my parents—"you were interrupted by the kids running up to you. Annie was hurrying behind them, out of breath and panting apologies. You just waved her off, making sure she knew you weren't angry. Your niece hid behind your legs as soon as she looked up and saw Derek. Crouching down, you picked her up, and she immediately hid her face in the crook of your neck.

"Y/N, who are these cuties?" JJ asked while interacting with your nephew.

"These are my sisters kids," you replied, "That's Marko," you said, pointing to the boy JJ was playing with. Then, stepping to the side, you revealed two little girls standing behind you. "This is Abigail and this is Aleksandra." The two offered a shy wave to your teammates.

"And who might this cutie be?" Derek asked, gesturing to the shy girl in your arms.

"This little one is Briana." You answered with a smile.

Slack-jawed Spencer asked, "So what happened? With their parents I mean."

"My sister passed away due to complications during Brianas birth and during her pregnancy, her husband was serving overseas and was KIA."

"Are you their guardian now?"

"No, legally my parents are. At the time, I was living in LA and couldn't get a transfer here, plus with the job they need a stable home. I live here now though, so I can help out."

The conversation kind of lulled, everyone loitering in the foyer. Aaron decided that now was as good a time as any and made the announcement before dinner even started.

"I know everyone here knows each other and you all know Y/N in an official capacity but, tonight was meant to be used as an announcement of our relationship."

"Emily, Rossi, you both owe me 10." Said Derek, with his signature cheeky grin.

"What for?" You asked, already wary of the path you were heading down.

"We were betting on when the two of you would come clean." Answered Garcia with a smile.

And even though you were a part of the team, somehow, it now felt more like you were a part of a family. The dinner was full of laughter, chatter and, embarrassing stories, continuing long into the night.

JACK COLEMAN - her first boyfriend. she really did love jack and wanted it to work but her dad made sure it didn’t. he’s very possessive over both girls. seeing jack move on hurt her, but she also understood. she’s also one of the only ones who know about what happened at his party back in the summer before first year. 

KYLE KINGSLEY - her current love interest. i wouldn’t say they’re official but kyle has definitely stolen her heart. she’s so in love with him and feels safe around him. she knows he has other things going on and his own stuff to deal with - especially with madison passing away - so she tries to be patient.

IMOGEN HAMILTON - one of her best friends. brielle is relatively new to imogen’s friendship group and KNOWS she doesn't fit in but all of the girls are so beautiful and glamorous, she honestly sees it as escapism and enjoys being with them.

RUBY ROSINI - her biological sister. they were separated via adoption but ruby has no idea. issy definitely watches her from afar and is desperate for her to know, she just doesn't know how to approach it. 

ELODIE GWAN - a good friend but she also is a bit jealous of her given she’s ruby’s adopted sister. sometimes she feels like elodie has the life she was SUPPOSED to have.

IVY WINTERS-BROWN - he has absolutely NO idea how ivy is his girlfriend. he’s had a crush on her since they were 12 and seated next to each other in maths, where she barely knew he existed. he always told himself when he worked out, had a good job and something to offer, they’d be together. it was a high school fantasy of his, but weirdly to him without any of that, he’s somehow ended up as her boyfriend anyway. she’s honestly the best person for him. she’s gentle and patience and slowly building up his confidence one slow moment at a time. 

STANLEY JACOBS (played by me) - his high school bully and someone who still treats him like shit now tbh. jude is relatively quiet about it because somehow he’s convinced himself that the situation is embarrassing for HIM rather than the 20 year old who thinks it’s still cool to pick on people. 

LORENZO ROMANO - his best friend. he doesn’t have many but here we are. he trusts renzo more than anyone and like ivy, he’s one of the people who he feels like he doesn't have to hide who he really is around which is nice.

JACK, TANNER, I’M SURE THERE’RE OTHERS - a group of younger boys in the academy who all go around with one another. i feel like nate is a big guy’s guy and even though he dates a lot and is always involved with somebody, he values his friendships a lot. 

CHARLIE BARHAM - he was with her for a little while but ultimately chose Imogen. they’re not on good terms, mainly because she’s still mad at him and rightfully so.

ZARA CALLOWAY - he’s always found her hot but since breaking up with danny, he lowkey knew she’d need a shoulder to cry on and they’ve entered a VERY intense and shallow fwb situation. he took her on one real “date” (just at his house) and realised she was a lot more emotional/talkative/energetic than he anticipated and just not his type at all. it’s v much hit it and quit it and because she’s lonely, she kind of hangs around. i hate him for it too.

DANNY COLEMAN - it took yulia all of five seconds to decide to shoot her shot. she KNOWS he’s zara’s very recent ex-boyfriend but single is single. she’s always found him cute and now figures that she might as well go for it.

FELICITY CALLOWAY - one of his most recent infatuations but weirdly, she hasn’t shied away or backed down from him which has left him confused. don’t get me wrong, he’s still dangerously obsessed and it’s never going to end well for him but the different response from her vs. girls in the past has thrown him off for a little while. 

NATASHA BANKS - his long-term girlfriend, although things have kind of run thin which i think caused his attention to stray off to felicity. he still considers her “his” but isn’t as intense as before. 

PARK HAMILTON - a man he avoids for his own good. after spending a year stalking his younger sister, florence, INTENSELY, park beat him up to the point where he needed serious medical care and was out of st judes for a good few months. doesn't mean he doesn't still watch florence from afar, though. he has a photo collection inspired by her.

NATALIE CASTILLO - the mother of nicolas, his son. for a long while they had nothing to do with one another but they're slowly rekindling and to ezra, it feels amazing. they both put nicolas first and never want to rush anything or get carried away but being able to do it together is a blessing for him.

EMMA SINCLIAR - he’s gotten closer to emma since she’s been in town and there were/are sparks between them. however i think it would be so OOC for him to go any further with her. first, because natalie is in his life and he wants to keep her there. two, because he absolutely loved madison with all of his heart and something about it just doesn't sit right with him. 

FELICITY CALLOWAY - his ex. he truly cared about felicity but there was a lot that got in the way, the main one being her sex addiction. he thought he could handle her sleeping with other people and essentially cheating, but turns out he couldn't. he’s so big on loyalty that they were destined for failure. 

BRODY AND DISNEY - his little married friends LOL also, fun fact, he’s god father to all three of the girls.

TANNER HAWTHORNE - a really good friend of hers. he’s always in her coffee shop where she works and they've been talking a lot. she keeps her distance because she doesn't want her dad catching on and getting the wrong idea but she does value his friendship a lot.

How would you describe Stan and Sharon’s relationship? Would you say that Stan is Sharon’s favorite? It seems this could be the case at least according to Shelly in the season 19 episode “PC Principal Final Justice” when she said, Why are you always taking Stan's side? You're always acting like Stan can't do anything wrong.

I'll start with whether I think Stan's her favorite: I wouldn't exactly say he's the favorite as in she loves him more but I think both his parents are closer to him. There's definitely a reason that Shelly feels like they love Stan more than her. In part it's because he's the baby of the family. It means he gets more attention, gets more leeway, basically gets a lot of benefits for being born second. The second thing is just that, well, frankly he's easier. It's kind of weird to say that since Stan's life is absolutely bonkers and outside of the home he chases adventure. So the wacky adventure stuff has to be taken out of the equation a bit.

In a daily life way, Shelly's more likely to yell, beat up her brother, slam doors, that kind of thing. Stan's purposefully taken on a 'don't worry about me' role in the family while a lot of Shelly's home behaviors are deliberately attention-seeking. Stan has conversations with his parents. He tells them what's wrong and takes steps to fix it himself. He's emotionally mature, but in ways very childlike-- like he's still happy his mom reads bedtime stories to him.

The attention he wants from his parents is arguably too 'kiddy' for a lot of kids his age. It's certainly not like he never complains/whines to his parents. We've seen him do that. But a lot of the attention he seeks from his parents is just 'please spend quality time with me'. No solving his problems even if they listen to them, no yelling, no rants about friends at school. When he discusses his problems with them it's often pretty straightforward and stamped with a 'But I'm fine!' disclaimer. Not only that, but like I mentioned with my analysis for Stan and Randy, Stan's been in a parental position of taking care of Randy himself since he was a little kid. So he doesn't talk back THAT often (particularly before moving to Tegridy; he's definitely gotten snippier), the attention he wants is often the easy book-reading/watching sports games together kind, he works to solve his own problems, AND he can be depended on to solve his parents' problems a lot of the time, too. The reason they have more of a problem connecting with Shelly is because Shelly actually wants parented instead of the weird thing Stan's got going on where he takes on a parenting role himself a lot of the time.

I think Stan and Sharon's relationship is good, though. Stan's a lot like Randy, but he's a lot like Sharon, too. He tempers things with logic and reason. He cares about people being wronged even if everyone else shrugs and says it's normal. Stan has a lot of her sensibilities tied up with his dad's drive to get things done.

He has the ability to talk to both of his parents about his problems, which is something the other kids don't have-- Kyle was the closest to having this in earlier seasons, but Gerald's ruining his relationship with his kids and doesn't even seem to like Kyle. But Stan can talk to his dad despite having to expect off-the-wall responses. He can talk to his mom despite wanting to protect her from having to really take care of his problems. He might keep his emotional hurts from them, or meet them halfway in fixing things if he needs their help, but he rarely actually LIES to them about things going on in his life.

His relationship with his mom isn't perfect. Sharon is someone who relies more on shame than guilt, i.e. the difference between ‘I am/you are a bad person’ and ‘I/you did a bad thing’. Stan's deeply internalized that doing things wrong marks him as a bad person. And you can see that in the words Sharon chooses when she chews people out and the fact when she thinks Stan does something VERY bad in Spookyfish her instinct is to hide it to keep him 'good', that she operates a lot through shame. This isn't healthy for him, and feeds into him wanting to do things just to prove he's good, strong, capable, and hiding or not talking about things that he finds bad about himself (including his depression).

The things that Stan doesn't think will be a huge inconvenience for his parents, or the things that he doesn't think will mark him as a bad or weak person, however, he doesn't have a problem sharing. And that does put him LEAGUES above a lot of the other kids in South Park. He actually loves his parents and DOES actually want to talk to them about things more than he doesn't. I think most of his problems with his parents are actually fixable, but it would take a lot of work.

That said, Stan's family and Sharon in particular very actively supports putting the work in. They whisk him off to the doctor if he has a complaint. When they think he has Asperger's in Ass Burgers, they quickly pop him into therapy, and I think this is more Sharon's doing than Randy's. Personally I think Randy's influence was the awareness tour that was more about getting attention for himself than for Stan, similar to Stan's behavior in Butterballs. But anyway. They get him into therapy immediately when he has hoarding problems. They have apparently instilled in him to talk to counselors on his own as well, since he actually does open up to Mackey pretty quickly even in the cases where he's 'forced' to go see him. They, and I'd say primarily Sharon, are all for Stan getting whatever professional help he needs when he says he has a problem. It's just that the help that's available in South Park is crap.

So I think there's a lot of good in Stan's relationship with Sharon. They can turn to each other when things are fucked up and have someone they need to be strong for. Stan's willing to share MOST of his problems with her. When he talks back, she apparently checks in on him later to make sure he understands where she's coming from as seen in YGO. When he actually expresses a problem to her, she will try and fix it by taking him to whatever professional necessary. She does facilitate discussion and actively listens to him. She reads him bedtime stories, cares about his day, engages in his school projects and extracurricular activities, and wants to spend time with him.

She's also a part of the family dynamic that makes Stan reluctant to really be a kid and not have to be forced into a parental role at a very young age. She also-- unintentionally-- helps feed into his belief that he's fundamentally a bad person who needs to hide things about himself to appear good so he can still be liked. In thinking Stan's just being a good, responsible kid, she's helped put him a position where a lot of his childhood has been eaten up by trying to be an adult to help his family function.

Most of Stan's relationships are loving but dysfunctional.

More than six sentences for @arielana who I can’t love on enough - so here’s the beginning of the sequel to Last Year’s Wishes -

“Just so you know if you wake him up, I will kill you.” 

As threats went, Alex knew he had lost some of the seriousness by typing it on his phone and holding up the screen for Isobel to read. He let his flat ‘just try me’ expression to do the heavy lifting though, as he kept his free hand cupped protectively around Michael's shoulder. 

Sometime during the afternoon, Alex had acquired a blanket of wild curls and exhausted alien covering him on their couch, and he knew just how badly Michael needed the rest. Three in person exams were finished for now with two left still to take, but the long nights of balancing the predawn garage shifts with post-dusk college coursework were finally catching up to Michael.

It said something about the level of exhaustion Michael felt, that he hadn't stirred when Alex's phone buzzed an alert from their security system upon Isobel's arrival. And it also said something for Alex's level of concern, that he sent a message to Isobel giving her permission to enter their house without knocking. He had probably set back their efforts in schooling Isobel on proper respect of boundaries for a good six weeks with that allowance. She was the definition of receiving an inch but taking a mile with a ‘but I’m cute and harmless’ smile.

Today though, Isobel was standing in his house, treating his threat with an eye roll before she pulled out her own phone in answer. Her long manicured fingers skillfully dashed out a response before turning her screen toward him. “If you kill me then there's no one to walk Michael down the aisle.”

“Max,” Alex mouthed silently to her, unable to keep from smiling at the mention of their upcoming wedding.

This time it was a much longer, more furiously typed message. “He's performing the ceremony. Plus you'll throw off the seating chart, and if you ruin that then Maria will kill you and marry Michael over your corpse. Don't think she won't.”

“Touché,” he typed, looking down at where Micheal's face was buried against the hollow of his throat. Once upon a time, he would have felt a spike of alarm and insecurity about Isobel's joke regarding Maria, even though she had dated a string of lovers since Michael, the latest being Jenna Cameron.

The gleam of their rings and the soft even breaths in his ear kept even the most stubborn doubts doused. Everywhere he looked, the symmetry of two surrounded him from the pair of work boots that were always left neatly out of the way, to close attention of leaving his spare crutches close at hand, and then there were their guitars, propped in twin cherry wood stands. The necks of each guitar were curved toward each other, closing the quotation mark on their life; on that promise they made to each other every day.

That was the perspective that Alex could take now, the past and the ways they had hurt one another were merely stone markers on a meandering path back to each other. Some steps were overgrown with moss, rarely trodden upon in arguments like Maria, and others were worn smooth with stubborn repetition, the way money and Project Shepherd could still crop up in an agitated moment.

Michael stirred in his sleep, shifting over on the couch to slip his hand under Alex's shirt to rest a warm palm over Alex's chest just above his heart. In another month, Alex had arranged for leave, and he could hardly wait to feel the connection to Michael again while they exchanged their wedding vows before disappearing on their honeymoon road trip in the Airstream. For now, his skin was bare of the mark but the touch still sent his pulse ratcheting up a level in tempo.

A soft tap of Isobel's fingernail on her phone screen recaptured Alex's wandering attention. She looked fondly grossed out, her eyes flickering up and down their entangled embrace. The fondness in her gaze increased as she focused at the foot of the couch where Beckett was safely tucked between the cushion and snoring against the tangle of Michael's legs. She lifted her screen revealing the purpose of her visit, “House is going on the market. So my storage problem is now your storage problem. It's time for Michael to store his own stuff at his own house now.”

The sale of Isobel's house had been a long time coming as she sorted through her memories of her marriage, the life she had built and the touch of Noah's influence on both. For a long time she had been frozen in indecision over what was truly ‘her’ until she had made a sweeping decision to start completely clean in life. The sale of the house was the last in a long line of choices, one of which had been to rent a loft apartment across the street from the Crashdown. The proximity to Kyle's high-end townhouse development was coincidental.

“Need help?” Alex typed, offering out of politeness as he looked down at Michael's heavy limbed sprawl.

An unseen force tugged Alex's phone from his hand, floating it securely into Isobel's hand. She smirked smugly and typed out a response, before pushing it back to his hand through the air. Quietly she turned on her socked feet to pad back out the front door with a sketch of a wave and the near-silent click of the door shutting.

Alex glanced down at his screen reading the parting message from Isobel, “It's all stacked outside. Tell our genius future grad when he wakes up that family dinner with Arturo is next week, no work excuses allowed. Also, he drools in his sleep. XOXO Iz.”

“Is she gone now?” Michael mumbled hoarsely into Alex's throat.

“Did we wake you?”

“Wasn't really asleep. Plus it's hard to ignore Isobel's mind when she's near.”

How She Ra Ended

I've never really scrolled through the Catradora and She Ra tags but I decided to yesterday and.....well... WOW! I can't get over how bitter people are what was essentially a children's show ending with everyone being friends again 😅.

People are genuinely upset that Adora and Catra realised they were in love and they got a happy ending.

The amount of folk that are over analysing a children's show and have all suddenly become fully qualified psychologists is mind boggling.

But if that's how you wish to see things then..

People are upset and surprised that Catradora happenend? My God people! It was obvious from the first season that that was what they were going for even if they couldn't fully commit until they got permission. If you didnt catch on at the start then the Princess Prom should have made it blatantly clear to you!

But even people who knew this was going to happen are upset because it did. They are talking about abuse and how they are disappointed and enraged that Catradora happened. You KNEW this was going to happen, so why continue to watch something you know isn't going to end the way you want and then get annoyed that it didn't end the way you want?

Adora and the others forgave Catra to quickly? Didn't Catra literally scream her apology to Adora while getting attacked by clones and saving Glimmers ass? Catra wanted to do one good thing in her life and said it didn't matter what happened to her, she was just happy that she thought Horde Prime couldnt hurt Adora and she saved Glimmer. Catra had resigned herself to her fate, she didn't know that HP was going to chip her. So what then? After she has saved Adora she deserves to be treated like a sack of s**t and has to keep making it up to them? News flash! That's not how forgiveness works. Once you are forgiven you don't have to keep proving yourself over and over again. But even if you did, Catra does that over and over again.

Adora forgave Glimmer to quickly for the things she said and nearly destroying every thing? Adora is the bloody hero of a childrens show, of course she was going to forgive her best friend for what she did, she would just be relieved that Glimmer was alive and safely back with them. Even Bow was hugging Glimmer and relieved she was safe. They needed the drama between Bow and Glimmer but they didn't need it between Adora and Glimmer because Adora was working through her stuff with Catra.

Also, it was the end of the F**king world they were facing!!! They could have all died at any point and they were prepared to. So why would they spend their time being petty with eachother? They accepted Catra into their squad, they always would have eventually accepted her but Catra didn't know or understand that.

Funny how Scorpia was so easily forgiven. Oh and don't give me the whole "Scorpia was abused by Catra" crap when you can't accept that Catra was treated horribly by the Horde from day one. Plus Scorpia was more than happy to work for the Horde and do bad things as long as she could have Catra's attention.

Didn't Shadow weaver once tell Catra she only tolerated her because Adora was fond of her? Catra grew up knowing that her very existence and place in the world was dependant on Adora's fondness for her. Imagine knowing that that is the only reason you are tolerated? No wonder she was both possessive of Adora and resentful towards her and other people. But Catra gets over this and at the start of the show She and Adora are best friends.

Adora gets to have a life changing field trip and gain a magical sword to become a princess, the one thing that she and Catra have been taught to hate. Catra comes to save her and take her home but Adora has had a change of heart, a change of heart that Catra has not been privy to. Catra didn't get a life changing field trip where she met two people from outside the horde who were kind to her and showed her things she had never seen before.

Now think about it, Catras entire existence and place in the Horde was dependant on Adora being fond of her, Adora, the golden girl. So Catra devotes herself to the Horde, to everything they have been taught. Heck even the others cadets are buzzing when they conquer towns in the 4th season. Catra devotes herself to being everything that Adora is. Adora even makes it to Force Captain and Catra is OK with that. But then Adora leaves, she throws it all away and Catra doesn't understand why. None of the other cadets understand it either. Yes Adora wants to take Catra with her, but Catra hasn't had the outside influences that Adora has had. She is 100% team Horde because that is what she has had to be her whole life.

Its no wonder that Catra devotes herself to becoming the best in the Horde. She no longer has to stand in Adora's shadow. Even when Adora is gone Shadow Weaver is on Catra's case to get her back.

This is just a classic misunderstood villain to hero story. It was executed just fine. The last season even highlights Shadow Weavers manipulations of both Adora and Catra. Even shadow weaver gets her redemption moment. She saves Micha's ass and she saved both Adora and Catra's. You don't need more than that.

Heck even Hordak gets his forgiveness, that one is a little shocking but again, childrens show that wants a happily ever after. Maybe they'll make a comic or something that shows him making it up to everyone.

But by the antis logic, if Catra has to pay for what a she's done, then so should Scorpia, Hordak, Double Trouble, Kyle and the other recruits, Entrapta and even Glimmer! Glimmer did nearly destroy everything in season 4. But again, they didn't do that because it's a kids show that doesn't need to end like that with everyone paying for their mistakes because they just saved the world together. The whole thing is basically about the power of friendship.

If you want to identify with how the show depicted the relationship between Catra and Adora in either a positive or negative way, you are free to, that is your affair and your experience. But that doesn't mean your opinion is the only valid one.

I think keeping Alex’s internal thoughts and mental progress consistent with what he canonically knew at that point, and making his thought process make sense. Because I was definitely really inspired various meta posts and tags (shoutout to @ober-affen-geil, @chasingshhadows, and @irolltwenties) but I wanted to make it all make sense in a fic setting.

🔬- Was there one scene you were building up to/knew you had to get just right? 

Exactly halfway through, when Michael stands in front of Alex, who’s seated, and Alex lets his forehead rest on Michael’s stomach and they touch each other really, really gently, and Alex kind of wants to cry a little bit.

For Common Tongue:

🎭- What was the feeling or mood you were going for?

Hot and a little bit frantic and desperate. The way Alex has sex with Michael in his trailer, freaks out and runs away, and then jerks off twice more back at the cabin while imagining Michael because that’s just the effect Michael has on him, but then there’s always that chaser of fear because he can’t stop remembering what happened the last time he and Michael were caught together.

I don’t think so.

For Animal Matters:

⭐- What’s a scene/paragraph you’re proud of? 

Reworking the scene where Alex and Michael talk at the junkyard to include their daemons, and Alex and Mihiliz both freaking aout when Laithe shows off her and Michael’s alien range and her disappearing trick. It’s hard to know how effective that sort of thing is to any readers who haven’t read HDM, because the daemon stuff is so specific, but I liked it.

☀️- Was there symbolism/motifs you worked in?

All the daemon choices, ofc, especially Alex and Michael’s, but OOOH BOY you asked and I am going to talk about all of them!!!! Talk about opening a can of worms, prepare yourself, I am about to go in deep.

I wanted Michael to have a monkey right away, because a daemon with hands shows off Michael’s drive to physically build and create with his hands, and how adaptable and clever he is. Barbary macaques are very social, with lifelong family bonds. They’re medium sized, not too big to ride on a human being or small enough to be unthreatening. I also knew about Barbary macaques already as the only monkey that lives in Europe, specifically in Gibralter - they’ve adapted really well to an urban (alien) environment. It’s not native to the states or New Mexico, like Michael isn’t, but it’s sandy coloured and I imagine it would blend in well enough. I also picked up a headcanon from my favourite daemon fic ever, He Says He Is An Experimental Theologian, which is a HDM/WTNV fusion, and one of the best things I’ve ever read, ever, period, that monkey daemons have a reputation for being cunning and not very nice, and that matches up with Michael’s reputation as a bad boy.

I decided on Alex having a snake pretty easily too, but it took a while to settle on the exact type. It had to be native to the states (I have feelings about people’s daemons settling as animals native to their home regions), and I think I decided I wanted it to be dark pretty early on too. Something outwardly unobtrusive, easy to underestimate and overlook, something very good at being patient and lying in wait for a long time before striking with deadly accuracy. Snakes are solitary animals, and Alex is someone who guards his privacy and independence incredibly fiercely. I also have feelings about Alex’s feelings about settling as a snake, particularly wrt his family and obviously his father. I believe Jesse Manes is the sort of person who would be displeased for any of his sons to settle as anything but a predator animal, and I think Alex would have mixed feelings about fulfilling that expectation - relief at not inviting ridicule or retribution, but not exactly uncomplicated pleasure because he doesn’t like doing anything that pleases his dad. But he does love Mihiliz, and her form. Then there’s the other issue of his mother’s side of the family - snakes are one of several animals that are considered bad by the Apache, so I imagine that snake daemons would be uncommon to nonexistent among the Mescalero. By settling as a snake, Alex thinks he’s cut himself off from that side of his heritage, possibly for good, and at the very least marked himself as a very obvious outsider to it. Settling as a snake would also, for this reason, be something that would please his father, as a very visible proof of Alex’s rejection of his mother’s influence. Whether that’s true or not, Alex would have Issues about it for sure.

The other daemons had a bit less thought put into them, but I LOVE thinking about what people’s daemons would be, so I still considered each one. I wanted Kyle to have a daemon that could be absolutely hellish when he was a bully teenager, but then present as very friendly and sweet when he’s turned over a new leaf as an adult. Weasels and other mustolids can be unbelievably violent and vicious and can take down prey many times their own size, even when they themselves look tiny and cute.

I wanted Max to have a dog daemon right away, because he’s a loyal man, and he’s appointed himself a guard dog of sorts by joining the police force. He just gives me seriously dog vibes. I wanted him to have a distinctive dog though, definitely handsome, and again, not native to New Mexico but with colouration that sort of blends in. Max really wants to be a normal guy, but he can’t pretend his way out of what he really is. I also chose a pharaoh hound as a nod to his royal nature in the OG series, even if that isn’t the route RNM is taking.

Isobel is the one who gave me the most trouble, and I’m still not entirely sure about my choice of daemon for her. She has a Costa’s hummingbird daemon, which is native to New Mexico as a representation of how much better she blends in than her brothers, and how much more comfortable she is doing so - at least in most of season one. I knew I wanted her to have a bird with very pretty feathers, and the Costa’s hummingbird has these really gorgeous iridescent purple neck feathers. I’m now thinking though that I should have given her something with a more violent edge, because I think Isobel is definitely capable of violently protecting what she considers hers (her family). I think I maybe went on the aesthetic too much for her.

I picked an Abert’s squirrel for Liz because again, I wanted her to have a daemon species native to her home, and I thought a squirrel suited her in terms of how quick and clever they are, and like Michael’s monkey, a squirrel has a degree of paw dexterity a lot of other animals don’t have. They’re cute, but they’re territorial, and they can be violent on occasion.

Maria has a gray fox to reflect her resourcefulness and ability to survive through seriously tough times. It’s another New Mexico native, and it has a very cool ability to climb trees with cat-like agility.

Jesse has a wolf for a couple of reasons, one of them being pure intimidation. Check out how big a grey wolf is in real life - they are fucking huge, and having a wolf-shaped soul shows what a relentless hunter Jesse is. Wolves are great animals and they get a bad rep in folklore as being big and bad, but I believe daemons can reflect those attitudes as well. Wolves are incredible pack hunters, and Jesse is all about the pack and the family and the legacy of that. I also believe he sees himself as a necessary guard dog of humanity, and a wolf reflects that. I don’t know what his other two sons have settled as, but I decided on Flint having a coyote easily - a lesser wolf, in a sense, smaller and more solitary, but just as good at hunting and tracking and working as part of a team.

It never came up in Animal Matters, but I also decided on a black panther for Rosa (tough, mysterious, solitary, once native to Mexico, would very much stand out in a place like Roswell) and an alien bird that resembled a motmot bird for Noah.

his life is pretty similar to 80s canon whatever-era-that-is-called. no Joker setting everything up, because that’s stupid as hell and also the Joker sucks.

Catwoman comes across him boosting the Batmobile’s tyres and she thinks that’s funny as hell and ballsy as all get out. so she jumps down and trades Jay cash if he’ll put the tyres back on

from that point on, Selina keeps an eye out for him, gives him hints and tricks about stealing stuff. she doesn’t immediately adopt him, because she hasn’t got an orphan/trauma-related impulse control issue, unlike some people

Jay spots Cat and Bat having a showdown and throws a rock at Batman to distract him so Selina can make a clean getaway

basically they’re both cats and refuse to admit that they like one another

then some guys grab Jay and drag him off bc their boss (probs Black Mask) is pissed w Catwoman and everyone knows that she’s got a weird interest in this one random street kid

Selina comes down on them like the hammer of god and takes Jason for medical help. she low-key panics when people start asking questions and claims that she’s his mother

when Jay regains consciousness, she tells him, and at first they both go along with the deception bc Jay needs an extended hospital stay and further medical assistance and then it kinda becomes a habit and neither of them actually want to put their feelings into Words so they just talk around the subject - e.g. if you allow me to remain as your legal guardian, you can go back to school, and it’ll cause me too many problems if socialite Selina Kyle’s new son suddenly disappears

Selina eventually adopts him

he’s on the scene as Jason Todd-Kyle for a long time before Selina allows him out officially as Catlad. he still does whatever he wants but Selina insists that if he’s going to wear her name, he’ll live up to her reputation (also she’s terrified of finding him face down in a growing pool of his own blood again)

Ivy and Harley are his aunts and we all know canon!Jason Todd drinks Respect Women juice with every meal so imagine that but with influences from Harley and Ivy and Selina.

robin!Dick lays eyes on him and immediately Understands Bruce’s weird Catwoman thing. Catlad is so cool!!!!!!

he’s never as close to Tim-Robin as he was to Dick-Robin. he resents Bruce for just replacing Dick, and that stops him from being as open to Tim as he was with Dick. Jay eventually settles into being kind of a distantish, kinda asshole, will still throw hands for you older brother to Tim. think siblings when there’s a large age gap between them

once he’s done with school he takes off traveling the world (that there are elaborate thefts in the cities he visits is pure coincidence) and when he comes back he’s all grown up and built and hot and 6′ of tanned muscle in a black leather catsuit Robin Hooding it all over the place and Dick and Tim are both just like: ‘Welp. Guess my type is people who could choke me out with their thighs’

he somehow still winds up forming the Outlaws, but Gotham will always be his home base, he got his wanderlust over with, and he rarely spends long amounts of time outside of Gotham

and he and Dick eventually have to admit that they’re in a relationship. they might occasionally date/have sex with other people but they’re always together.

Echo, set between 1x08 and 1x09.

It was about a week after they put Isobel in the pod that Max stopped by the hospital to check out Liz's progress working on the cure. It felt awkward to be there, as he walked through the hallways towards the research wing. He hadn't seen her at all that week, not since she told him that they weren't meant to be together.

Since that night, it felt like his heart was constantly aching.

Yes, it broke his heart that Liz didn't believe in the possibility of them ever having a relationship. But it wasn’t a surprise. Liz just reinforced everything he always believed...that he could never have what he wanted. That he could never be good enough for her.

So instead he tried to focus on his other heartbreak. That one was harder to ignore because he could feel the emptiness inside of him every second of every minute of every day that Isobel was in the pod. He missed his sister. His entire world felt out of sync with her in stasis.

He was disappointed when he popped his head into her lab to find it empty. The lights were still on, as if she had been working but had recently stepped out to a meeting or lunch or something. Max sighed. It was probably better this way anyway. No distractions for Liz, nor any chance of his heart breaking any further.

He found a piece of scrap paper and a pen on her desk, and sat down to write her a short thank you note.

Stopped by to say hello. I'm sorry to miss you.

Just wanted to say thank you for everything. I don't know why you're helping us like this. I know we don't deserve it and I know saving Isobel after everything she's done is the last thing you want to do.

I guess I just wanted you to know that I see how hard you're working, and I am amazed by you.

Satisfied with his short note, Max folded it in half, wrote Liz's name on the back, and left it on her desk. Then he headed back to his Jeep. He had a stack of books and a second blanket in the back seat. The nights were getting colder, but he wasn't quite ready to leave Isobel alone yet.

It was late that evening, long after the sun had set, that Liz sat in her car with Max’s note in her hand. She kept unfolding it, rereading it, and folding it back up again, as she argued with herself over how to respond.

One part of her wanted to ignore it. Go home to spend time with Papi, or go to the Wild Pony, and have a drink with Maria. She wanted to talk to either of them, or both of them, about Max and Isobel and this whole mess...but she couldn’t. Not without revealing too much about their secrets. The only person she could talk to about this stuff was Kyle. She unfolded the note and read it again, sighing. But the note...she couldn’t talk about the note with Kyle. Talking about Max and feelings with Kyle just felt too weird. She couldn’t do it.

The other part of her wanted to go check on Max. He must have had a reason for coming by the lab. It couldn't have just been to say thank you. Maybe she should drop by his house, check on him, make sure he was doing okay. After all, from everything Michael had told her about Max and Isobel and their alien connection, he must be really hurting right now.

A painful ache squeezed through her gut at the thought of Max and the pain that she had inadvertently caused him. Making up her mind, she set the note down on the passenger seat, turned on the engine, and drove out to Max's house on the edge of town.

She was still easily a quarter mile down the dirt road from the house when it became clear that he wasn't there. The house was dark, not a single light, candle, or fire lit inside. Max's jeep was gone too.

She glanced at the clock. It was late. Much too late for her to just be leaving work, and too late for him to not be home. She wondered where he was...he hadn't been cleared to go back to work yet since getting shot by Wyatt Long.

Getting shot for her…

More guilt filled Liz's heart as she reminded herself why Max couldn’t work right now. Max had saved her life multiple times, so what did she do in return? She created a substance that was currently killing his sister. What a hero.

She glanced down at his note on the passenger seat, and decided that the least she could do was respond. So she popped her trunk and got out of the car to access the bag she had stashed back there. There was a notebook and pen in it that she kept on hand for lab notes, or to jot down ideas. She snagged them and returned to her driver's seat since it was too cold to sit outside. She took a deep breath and started writing.

Max,

I'm sorry I missed you today - twice now! Both at the lab earlier, and now here at home. I was hoping to check on you. I've been worried.

Your note made me smile today. But it also gave me a lot to think about. I'm not sure you fully understand my perspective on this whole situation, Max. Yes, I feel obligated to help Isobel since it is my creation that's killing her, but that's not what motivates me when I'm in the lab until 9pm on a Wednesday night.

I’m doing this for you, Max.

I'm doing this for the 17 year old kid who wanted to tell me the truth about my sister so badly that his family intervened and influenced me into leaving town.

I'm doing this because the idea that you might be walking around feeling empty inside without your connection to Isobel because of something I did is so heartbreaking that it makes me physically nauseous. Yes, in my immediate rage after learning the truth, I wanted to have a weapon to protect myself if an alien ever tried to kill me, but I never imagined that the alien I'd hurt would be you.

You've saved my life, Max. More than once. In a number of different ways, some of which I don't think I'm even capable of putting into words. So please, don't try to tell me that you don't deserve this. You deserve so much better than this.

Liz ripped the page out of her notebook and folded the letter in half. Stepping out into the cold night, she jogged up to his front porch, and just slid the paper so that it was partially under his front mat. Convinced that it was visible enough that he would see it, she nodded, pleased with her work. She jogged back to her car, got in, and drove back into town. Maybe it was a good night to stop for a drink with Maria after all.

Max didn't try to visit her again at the hospital. He spent most of his time at the cave with Isobel. Occasionally Michael would stop by with the latest update from Liz, and that was sufficient. At least that was what Max tried to tell himself.

Two weeks after their letter exchange, Max was called into the station and reevaluated for his return to service. This time, he kept his cool, and the investigator had no reason to question whether or not he was fit for the job.

Suddenly, the combination of regular shifts and keeping an eye on Isobel was all consuming. Another couple of weeks passed, and before he even realized it, it had been six weeks since Isobel injected herself with Liz's serum.

When he decided to lure Michael into driving him to Texas for an impromptu alien investigation, the last thing he expected was to see Liz there. They stood there in the parking area, about 15 feet apart, just soaking in the sight of each other. There was something different that Max couldn't quite put his finger on. He suddenly felt shy around her, like he did back in high school. She seemed to have forgotten how to talk to him. The tension was like electricity in the air.

So maybe it shouldn't have been a surprise to him when she kissed him the next morning.

Maybe. But it was.

NIIICE okay let us start with Alex then.

How I feel about this character: There’s a reason my tag for him is “my actual son”. Alex is my baby who I love more than anyone else. It’s funny bc malex as a ship is closer than most in terms of character favorites. I usually have a HEAVY favorite, and with them, it’s less so. But let’s be real here. Alex is my ride or die always and forever, with or without Michael (preferably with tho I mean lbr). Alex has been through so much and he is still such a good person. Being raised by an abusive bigot of a father, abandoned by a mother, and surrounded by asshole brothers...I really can’t imagine that life. But he’s lit from the inside and no amount of outside influence will snuff him out. He’s smart, brave, a sassy little monster and so, so, inherently good. It makes my chest physically tight to think about. He deserves the entire world, and I believe he could get it for himself.

Also he’s totally a Slytherin don’t @ me.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Malex. Just malex. I’m on the ride that is this show and I know we are getting other relationships for both of our boys, but they’re the epitome of true love. If they don’t make it work, it’s yet another example of gay tragedy. And I say that even if they ended up “happy” with other people. Because 99% of malex’s issues and struggle is rooted in the homophobic abuse they’ve both endured and the fear, trauma, and miscommunication that has resulted from that. To say they’d somehow be “better off” with someone else really writes off the struggles that so many queer folks go through and says that we can’t really have happy endings with our true loves bc it’s “too hard”. Fuck that. Oh I went off a little, sorry.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Kylex, obviously. If it wasn’t for malex I would ship that romantically bc I love friends to lovers but as it is, they’re my brotp for life. Also Alex and Maria. I love the mostly quiet support they have for each other and even though right now Maria isn’t making the best choices as a friend, I do think she will come around and we will get our baby besties back! Also in my wildest dreams: Alex and Isobel. I have a mighty need.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think he shoulders more responsibility for the bad stuff that has happened to the pod squad (and Michael specifically) than he should. That’s that on that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: He and Michael work their shit out obviously. Beyond that- I want more outsmarting his stupid ass family and being the cleverest most cunning best boy ever. Oh also- A FRIENDSHIP WITH ISOBEL. I adored Alex/Is in the OG, and obviously a romance isn’t in the cards for them due to Alex’s sexuality, but I still want that supportive friendship so damn much. Also the endless BDE and sassing, can you imagine!!

Now on to Maria!

How I feel about this character: I think Maria is a really good person who loves fiercely and is very loyal to the people in her life. She’s cool, funny, and supportive. Maria, much like Alex to me, are the HEART of any group they’re in. I do feel like she got the short stick in terms of writing in season one, and I hope for better in s2.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Isobel, Rosa, and possibly Kyle. But here’s the thing- I LOVE her dynamic with Liz and I would fucking ride or die that shit if there was a chance it would ever actually happen. But let’s be real-it never will. So I don’t really waste my time actively shipping something that I know could never happen when there’s good competing ships for it. That’s kind of the same thing for Max and Maria. I actually really thought they were cute and enjoyed their interactions, but there’s nobody for Max but Liz so I could never be invested with him and Maria. I find the idea of Maria and Isobel to be pretty fucking hot, enemies to friends to lovers plus it’s sort of flips the switch on the original ships and since we have Michael and Alex instead of Michael and Maria or Alex and Is, we can get the equivalent WLW ship in Maria and Isobel. Their chemistry is so good, too. I just need more interaction. Kyle is more like someone that could have potential but I’d need more interaction. And with Rosa... I admit the age difference could pose an issue, but I have thought forever that Maria was in love with Rosa when they were in high school. I still think this.  for me they would be like a heart ship that would end up very similar to echo and malex. 

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Miluca. I’m still so goddam bitter that they threw away this potentially amazing brotp to add unnecessary (and forced feeling) sex/romance to yet another m/f dynamic. M&M could’ve been the besties of our dreams and now I worry we will never get it bc it’s gotten all complicated. I still hope that once the relationship has inevitably ended, we can get platonic candy back. Also I mentioned it with Alex, but Maria and Alex. I really love them and want more of them. And also marliz obviously.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Mentioned this earlier too but Maria was 100% in love with Rosa when they were teens. Evidence: 1) deeper relationship than anyone knew, including her bestie Liz since Liz did not know about Maria and Rosa sneaking on the crashdown roof regularly. 2) hated Isobel for a decade bc Rosa was avoiding her one single time. “Because Rosa hated her” I guess but no real evidence of that for Maria personally other than one memory. Long time to hold a grudge. 3) the alien evidence in 11- one big point of evidence is how the fourth alien felt about Rosa, and that’s never argued against by Liz or anyone else as a reason that it couldn’t be Maria. It’s like yeah okay the alien was in love with Rosa but it can’t be Maria bc it’s MARIA and she’s trustworthy!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: had happened- no stupid love triangle/m&m thing. Would happen- maribel or marosa but barring that I just want a cool story and for Maria to be her own character instead of just support to others.

Musical Mondays

Greetings and Salutations,

It is the first official Musical Monday! Woo-hoo! Cue the confetti and party music (Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus is acceptable). Now, my layout will be a bit odd, so I’m going to take the time to explain it this one time and that’ll be all as far as the actual posts themselves go, however, you are always welcome to message me if you’re confused about anything! 

I will first name and give a brief description (serious Lex mode) of every artist mentioned as well as their social media information in case you would like to see more of them. After that, I will talk about specific songs since a lot of you probably are not looking for complete albums. I will then go into recent album drops, or my absolute favorites, that I loved. This is when I drop the “serious Lex mode” and act a little silly while gushing about the music. I will not be doing this for individual songs, instead, I will be doing a rating system! 

The ratings will range from 1 through 5, with 1 being the most calming and 5 being more upbeat and fun. I think this will be easier when categorizing the individual songs themselves just so I don’t end up writing an essay about every song on the list. Plus, the artist summary should clue you in on their general aesthetic and groove. 

I will note, however, that some artists will either have shorter bios or none at all for the simple fact that I cannot find any information outside of their music. For example, in this post, we have a SoundCloud artist that is very small and does not have the same fanbase as the others on the list do. I just briefly stated that he does not have much information about him, but I know he is releasing an EP soon. Now with all the boring stuff out of the way, lets jam out. 

Some of these artists have completely taken over my playlist, and I have no idea how I survived without them before, while others have held a special place in my heart for years. Cigarettes After Sex is an American Dream Pop band from El Paso, Texas. The group consists of lead singer/ songwriter, Greg Gonzalez who founded the band in 2008. Gonzalez, over the years, has also brought upon the help of keyboard player Josh Marcus, bassist Randy Miller, and drummer Jacob Tomsky. The group is known for its dream-like sound, ethereal vibe, and Gonzalez’s “androgynous” voice. The band’s first EP I. was released in 2012, with their single Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby being a huge commercial hit. In 2015, the band released their single Affection, and two years later their self-titled album dropped. In August of this year, the group then announced their new album Cry was announced as well as the released of their solo song Heavenly. The album was released on October 25, 2019.

Brent Faiyaz

Christopher Brent Wood, or better known as Brent Faiyaz, is an American singer and producer from Columbia, Maryland. However, Faiyaz moved to Charlotte, South Carolina, and then ultimately to Los Angeles, California to further his music career. January 19, 2015, he released his debut single Allure followed by the release of his song, and lead single on his EP A.M. Paradox released in 2016, Invite Me. In October of 2016, Faiyaz along with producers Dpat and Atu formed a group called Sonder, releasing their debut single Too Fast on October 25, 2016. December 16, 2016, Faiyaz was a featured artist on Goldlink’s song Crew, alongside fellow rapper Sly Grizzly. This is Faiyaz’s most known song and has gained him a lot of success.

Kyle Dion

Kyle Dion is an American R&B singer from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dion began making music back in 2013 with the release of his song Better. After which he released a cover of Frank Ocean’s song Thinking About You which boosted his popularity. His first EP dropped in 2014 gaining over 1.6 million plays, which ultimately gained Dion a loyal fanbase. This only furthered his passion, and in 2016 he dropped his EP Painting Sounds. All of this success has led up to the release of his debut album SUGA dropping in March of this year. According to The Fader, “The funk-infused album takes listeners on a journey of self-discovery, love and timeless nostalgia all through the eyes of Dion's alter ego, Suga, as he grapples with fame and battles his inner demons.”

LilBootyCall

Michael Bocanegra, or better known by his stage name, Lilbootycall, or “Call” for short, is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter from San Antonio, Texas. He is most known for his viral 2016 single Sailor Moon, but his first track Aquafina was released earlier that same year. Call’s next song Yugioh was released in January of 2017 along with Butterfly, Cigarettes, 330i, and First Date. In 2018, Honey and Oj in My Gucci Bag were dropped, and Call was featured in songs such as So Pink with Lil Weeb as well as Brokenheart with Cloud123. Earlier this year, his song with Cuco and Kwe$t, 777, dropped and amassed over 200,000 views within the first 2 months.

Flower Face

Flower Face is a solo project by Canadian, Ruby McKinnon. McKinnon has been writing and producing music since she was 14, and in 2013 she released her first studio album Every Part of You That’s Left in Me. McKinnon wrote and produced this in her basement within 2 months. In 2014, her next album Homesick followed by the Funeral Kid EP. April 5, 2016, McKinnon released her next album Fever Dreams dropped leading into her next album Baby Teeth dropping in 2018. Flower Face has since released two singles Ruth and Bedhead this year.

Noire

Noire is a “reverb-heavy blues” band from Brisbane, Australia comprised of Billy James, Jessica Mincher, Thom Eagleton, Tom Hogland, and Mashara Wachjudy. They released their first single Baby Blue back in 2015. A couple of years later in 2017, the group dropped their single Real Cool from their album Some Kind of Blue.

Xavier Gibson

Though I could not find a biography on out dude Xavier, here’s his Spotify biography, “Finding solace through music.” I do know, from his Instagram, however, that he has an EP in the works titled Warm Distortion. A release date has not been disclosed, but it is coming and I am so excited. Lolo  Zouaï

Born in Paris, France Lolo Zouaï immigrated to San Francisco, California with her family as a child. She is well known for blending classical styles of French crooners with Arab influence from her father's Algerian roots She’s most known for her debut single High Highs to Low Lows released back in late 2017. She has since followed up her success with various singles and music videos. Lolo released her EP Ocean Beach in 2019, as well as her first studio album High Highs to Low Lows that same year. Her most recent work is a single titled, Money, Diamonds, Roses.

Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez’s claim to fame from the singing-competition television show The Voice back in 2012. She has since taken over the music industry with her alternative pop music, creative lyrics, and overall aesthetic. She released her first EP Dollhouse, which ultimately leads to her first studio album Crybaby in 2015. The album follows the life of our main protagonist Crybaby and her dysfunctional family life and emotional troubles. Her most recent album/movie K-12 furthers this storyline more, which is highlighted in the movie, by following Crybaby and her troubles in school since she does not fit in. Martinez touches on eating disorders, problems within American school systems, friendships, and first love.

Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, or Wale, is a Nigerian–American rapper from Washington D.C. He made his initial impact with his number Dig Dug and signed a contract with a local label called Studio 43. Dig Dug was featured on his first mixtape Paint a Picture, which was widely received. This was followed by his second EP Hate is the New Love. In July 2007, he released his third mixtape 100 Miles & Running, as well as his single Good Girls. His fourth EP The Mixtape About Nothing was released in 2008. Wale released his debut album Attention Deficit in November 2009. The album reached the 21st spot on the Billboard 200 list and sold over 28 thousand copies within a week. His sixth mixtape More About Nothing was released in August 2010, and his second album Ambition was released in the fall of 2011. It was followed by a promotional mixtape titled The Eleven One Eleven Theory that went viral. His third album, The Gifted, and his fourth album, The Album About Nothing, were released in 2013 and 2015. He released his fifth album Shine in April 2017. His most recent single, On Chill featuring Jeremiah, has been massively successful.

Alina Baraz

Alina Baraz is a first-generation Ukranian-American singer/ songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio. She wrote her first song titled Roses Dipped in Gold, released on April 15, 2013, in the Lounge Masters Vibes collection series.After moving to Los Angelas, Baraz discovered Danish producer Galimatias and fell in love with his sound. After posting a song she wrote called Drift in 2013 with Galimatias’ instrumentals, the two came in contact and became good friends. The duo created the EP Urban Flora by sending each other music through Facebook. Though it was originally posted on Soundcloud, it blew up after getting a commercial license through Ultra Music. Baraz's first solo single Electric featuring Khalid was released on January 20, 2017. This song will also be seen on her second EP The Color of You in 2018.  Baraz released two singles titled Lavender and Velvet and Buzzin in 2017. Her latest release is a single titled To Me which dropped in September of this year.

Samm Henshaw

Iniabasi Samuel Henshaw, or better known by Samm Henshaw, is an English singer/ songwriter from London, England.  Henshaw’s debut EP The Sound Experiment was released back in 2015 with the help of Wayne Hector and Fred Cox.  Henshaw proceeded to follow up on his debut release with his second EP, The Sound Experiment 2 released in the summer of 2016. This album. This. Fucking. Album. It’s heavenly. I always love Cigarettes After Sex, but this album definitely takes the cake. One of my favorite albums that have dropped this year. It sounds like all of their other music, but that’s what I adore about this band. The dreamy, underwater vibe that they give is perfect for when I’m painting or chilling out in my room. It’s so nice. I think my favorites are Hentai, Kiss It Off Me, and Pure. I highly recommend. Make sure to check this one out if you’re looking for something relaxing to jam out to when you’re studying or doing homework. Also really nice for car rides in the middle of the night.

He’s walking art, or if I can quote Alina Baraz for a moment, “walking poetry.” SUGA is my favorite album by Kyle, but I would recommend all of his music. The queen has returned! I know I’m late on gushing about this masterpiece, but in my defense, I was completely radio silent when it dropped, and I wanted it to be a part of my Musical Mondays’ saga. Putting the movie aside, which is a masterpiece all on its own and if you have not watched it you should. It’s on YouTube. It’s gorgeous, and Melanie looks stunning the entire way through. The music is to die for. The aesthetic is Melanie’s usual, but there’s something about this album that I love more than Crybaby. I like the storyline, and it’s something we can all relate to. If you’ve ever been to school, you know the feelings and emotions that she conveys throughout the album. My favorites are Drama Club, Strawberry Shortcake, Detention, Orange Juice, and High School Sweetheart. All-in-all, K-12 slaps and you should 100% go and listen.

Lolo Zouaï is a bad bitch and you can’t kill her. I first discovered her a few years ago when High Highs to Low Lows first dropped, and I was waiting for this to drop ever since. I can honestly say this album is in my top 10, and a few of these songs are some of my favorites. The change in tone, the different styles, the lyrics, the way each song can completely change your mood; just everything is stunning. My favorites are High Highs Low Lows, Chevy Impala, Ride, and Desert Rose. Desert Rose is one of my favorite songs of all time. She’s just phenomenal. Great album, great artist, and you need to listen to this.

Movie Review: Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is an improvement over 2014’s Godzilla, which certainly qualifies as faint praise. It’s a largely emotion-and-character free movie with the most boring script a film can possibly manage, occasionally bolstered by some hot monster-on-monster action. The monster stuff, in fact, is damned good, and not just when the claws are drawn: less hectic visuals abound that, while not subtle, are very effective. Yet when a movie has a character played by Sally Hawkins and you don’t care when she gets smooshed, it’s hard to escape the feeling of squandered potential.

The plot picks up from where the first movie left off, and frankly if you remember where that was you liked the original more than I did. There’s a tiny flashback at the beginning, where Drs. Mark Russell (Kyle Chandler) and Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga) lose their son as an incidental casualty of Godzilla’s previous appearance. The two of them react differently to this. Emma becomes fascinated by the Titans, as people call Godzilla and his kin, going so far as to incubate an original model in a lab: Mothra, the giant, well, moth, whose introduction I admit made me fanboy a little. Mark has turned his attention to more common beasts,m studying wolves in nature preserves, and believes the Titans should be eliminated for the good of everyone. Emma’s lab is invaded by a fanatical eco-terrorist (Charles Dance) who has his own views about the Titans and their relationship to the planet. Mark, who for some crazy reason disagreed with raising their daughter Madison (Millie Bobby Brown) around ravening monsters, is called in to help save them. The cast contains a pretty respectable host of wasted actors, including Hawkins, David Strathairn and Zhang Ziyi, as well as another embarrassingly pointless turn for Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishiro Serazawa, the one returning character.

There’s also Bradley Whitford and Thomas Middleditch as employees of Monarch, the company that creates and/or finds monsters, but I need to emphasize that this movie has characters only in the loosest sense of the word. The people in this movie exist to rattle off exposition, run away, speak such electrifying lines as “You are meddling with forces beyond your comprehension!” and occasionally, but not nearly often enough for my taste, get squished, burned, zapped or eaten. To call the story hacky is an insult to hacks. The script, by director Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields from a story by regular monster-verse writer Max Borenstein, never once offers a single creative or interesting line or plot development, and if I hadn’t made notes I’d have forgotten every bit of it, not even when I left the theatre, but as soon as it had happened. Looking at those notes, I’m reminded of when Watanabe looks grimly around at a room and grimly says, in grim words using a grim voice “We must find ways to coexist with the Titans.” There’s the response to an angry roar from Godzilla: “He’s definitely not happy about something.” There’s the fact that two characters actually say to each other “Good luck” followed by “We’ll need it,” in such a way as to suggest this is actually a very clever line.

 Plot developments proceed with no logic. Farmiga’s Emma, who I must note is played by one of the finest actresses we possess, is eventually revealed to have decided the best thing for earth is that the Titans lay waste to it, in hopes they will then also restore it, Ragnarok-like and free of corrosive human influence. This twist somehow manages to be both predictable and be given no set-up in the plot whatsoever; you can see it coming because of some of her previous actions, but it does not gel with anything established about her. Millie Bobby Brown, so essential in Stranger Things, gets her first film role here, and she does what she can, succeeding more than most of the adults perhaps because she’s not tasked with supporting as much of the cumbersome plot and dialogue. By far the big losers are Watanabe and Ziyi. Let me break this down for you: in a movie that serves as a reboot of an essential Japanese franchise, there are two Asian characters, they are played by two excellent Asian actors, and they are reduced to cryptically spooling out exposition instead of having actual personalities, and then one of them is made to drop a joke about fortune cookies. In a blockbuster landscape where everything is vetted, re-vetted and re-vetted again before it gets to screen, this somehow managed to make it through.

At least the artists are having fun. This is the area that makes this movie slightly more fun to watch than the original. Visual effects supervisor Guillaume Rocheron, who also handled the excellent work in films such as Life of Pi and Man of Steel, gets to cut loose after a visually sterile first film, giving us multiple giant monster fights that are at minimum effective and occasionally thrilling. The original film went with the less-is-more approach to Godzilla, and while I usually champion that, it didn’t work because the human characters that were the focus were so hollow. Perhaps this movie knows how bad its characters are, because it amps up the beasties to match. The main antagonist is Ghidorah, the classic three-headed dragon of the old Godzilla films; it is a vision from the book of Revelations, a connection made apparent when it roosts on a flaming mountain over a burned city with a charred cross in the foreground just in case anyone missed the hint. It has a battle with Godzilla that is reasonably entertaining and clear, or at least more so then when towering hunks of metal whop the crud out of each others in Transformers movies. The real visual artistry comes outside the battles, though. There’s a majestic shot of Ghidorah frozen in a block of ice, an apocalyptic view of Ghidorah lifting Godzilla into a fiery sky, and my personal favorite, a R’lyeh-like underwater city that seems to have served as a place of veneration for the Titans in vaguely hinted long-ago ages. I freely admit I love this stuff; any hint of ancient ruins with with murky histories and I’m there. This location makes me sad that Guillermo Del Toro’s planned At the Mountains of Madness adaptation is probably DOA.

Spectacular visual artistry, however, can only carry a terrible plot and anemic characters so far. There are three movies in this shared monster universe to date, and the only one with the slightest ounce of narrative heart has been 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, which had the good sense to know something of how silly it was. The original Godzilla movies are ridiculously campy, the kind of thing one enjoys specifically because they don’t take themselves too seriously. This latest in a long line of reboots is simply too earnest to have any fun with itself, and in the process, it largely prevents us from having fun with it, too.

My Top 10 Favorite Fictional Couples

It’s been a really long time since I posted something here on Tumblr. I spend most of my time on the internet on Fanpop, Youtube, and Deviantart. Maybe I should try to get back into the swing of things here on Tumblr. I mainly come here to chat with my friend @keeloves rather than to post anything here. 10.Odette and Derek (The Swan Princess)

With Odette and Derek, yes, they didn't get along at first and fought over the years, but there were subtle hints to them secretly liking each other. I mean, Odette, as a preteen was constantly following Derek and Bromley, like most girls at that age, did when it came to boys they secretly liked. Unfortunately, boys at that age thought that girls had cooties. Along with that, Derek as a teenager was shown to have some interest in her, though he wouldn't show it. When Bromley said that he thought Derek kind of, sort of like her, Derek didn't deny it, he simply said that he'd like her better if she'd lose at cards. He didn't deny he didn’t like her! Whenever a guy doesn't like someone and someone says they do, they'll instantly deny it, which he didn't do. Plus, if you noticed, when Odette and her father were leaving on their boat, at first Derek was just pouting, but then his face softened up, and he slowly turned to look at Odette leaving when he thought no one was looking (Right until she sling-shotted a tomato at him lol). Then we have them when they're grown up and I've said in the past, that Derek just wasn't good at expressing himself, which was why he said, "What else is there?" and not because he was superficial. Odette loved him but refused to marry him until he could express what he loved about her besides her looks. Derek obviously loved her for more than just her looks, if he didn't than he would've just gave up on her when it got difficult. Would you hunt down a dangerous animal, try to break a spell, and risk your life to defeat an evil wizard just for someone you loved only for their looks and nothing more? I don't think so! Derek learned how to grow and his love for Odette was what helped with it. He thought he'd be able to express his feelings for Odette but was so blinded by his love for Odette that he mistook the fake Odette for the real one. He was even suspicious of the fake Odette because he felt something was different about her, it was only when she presented to him the swan locket that he returned to the real Odette when he found her that he thought she had to be the real Odette. He even ran after Odette in her swan form, knowing she was dying, to find some way of saving her and to at least say some final word about his love for her and how he was sorry. Odette didn't say, "Derek... how could you?" because she knew that he meant the vow to be for her, he even says that the vow was for her, and she simply replied, "I know... I love you Derek..." before she died. But he refused to let her die and was willing to risk his life to save hers. He didn't care if he died, as long as she would live. He fought with every fiber of his being to save her, even though he was close to death himself, since Rothbart as the Great Animal was too powerful. But in the end, Derek did defeat Rothbart and his love for Odette was part of what helped bring her back and break the spell. The vow said he had to make a vow of everlasting love and prove it to the world. However, the spell didn't specify what it meant by “the world.” From how I see it, having a room full of people isn't the world but rather was just one person who was Derek's entire world to him, Odette herself. He finally said what else he loved about her, her kindness and courage, which was what broke the spell. Even after he killed Rothbart, Odette didn’t come back to life instantly. It wasn’t until he made his vow of everlasting love to the lifeless body of Odette that she came back to life. He learned how to express his feelings and appreciate the ones he loves while they're in his life because you might not always have them, so you should always cherish every moment with them while you can. They vowed to love each other far longer than forever.

9.Cory and Topanga (Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World)

These two remind me of a modern-day version of Odette and Derek for many reasons. First being they’ve known each other since childhood, they couldn’t stand each other, they became attracted to each other because of hormones, Cory seemed to like her for just her looks at first and Topanga wanted to be loved for more than her looks, he proved he loved her for more than her looks, they had their problems, and would go on about how grand and enchanting their love for each other is. They are Odette and Derek to a T! I love them more because of how we do see more of them acting like a real couple with problems. We did get that with Odette and Derek in the two traditionally animated sequels but not to the same level as Cory and Topanga. They are one of the most iconic on-again, off-again relationships in TV history. However, unlike something like Ross and Rachel from Friends, who I do love as a couple, they aren’t dysfunctional or ever questionably unhealthy as a couple. They had problems where they would react like real people would, though Cory would overreact in some instances (Especially in the last few seasons), they’d stay apart for a realistic amount of time, and they’d work it out like two mature adults that love each other. They would do anything for each other and balanced each other out really well. He’s more of the living in the moment and having fun type that gets into a lot of trouble because of his reckless and naive nature while she’s the smart and responsible one that sometimes doesn’t know how to loosen up because of how controlling and perfectionist nature. They balanced each other's weaknesses with their strengths. They even stayed an amazing couple when they had kids in Girl Meets World, where they worked just as well as a team as they did as a couple and were great parents because of it.

8.Snow White and David (Once Upon a Time)

These two have incredible chemistry and part of the reason is that the actors, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, are actually married in real life with kids. It was because of this show that they met and their love blossomed. Ginnifer actually said she never planned to get involved in that way with a co-star but love changed her plans. This couple is so well-done and passionate. These two developed their relationship and didn’t just instantly fall in love. Hell, when they first met, she was robbing him and hit him in the face with a rock. When he caught up with her, he trapped her in a net. Not exactly a traditional fairy-tale romance meeting. These two are adorable with how dedicated they are to one another and how they will always find each other no matter what. While they didn’t have as many conflicts as the other couples on the show, they still had their conflicts and would work through them. They are willing to do anything for each other but would also sacrifice their own happiness for the sake of others. They even share the same heart! I just absolutely ADORE these two and the fact that the actors are married with kids in real life makes me love them even more. Their chemistry is just so enchanting that I can’t help but gush about them so much!

7.Regina and Robin Hood (Once Upon a Time)

These two are my absolute favorite couple on Once Upon a Time and they're just absolutely amazing. I love how even though they didn't get along at first that it's clear that they had a strong chemistry. Regina was afraid of falling in love because she was afraid that she'd lose her happiness because it's happened before. Being the Evil Queen, she was used to losing things she loved. However, she felt such a strong connection between her and Robin Hood that she even allowed him to keep her heart (literally) and even kissed him. She was even able to feel such a strong passion for him without her heart, that should tell you something. Even with the whole Marian thing, it's clear that the two still adored one another and just want to be together but things keep on happening. Finally, the two of them were together once again because it's clear that they're simply meant to be, the pixie dust even said so. Plus I just love couples where a woman is evil (or rather was) and the man is a good guy. That probably explains why the next couple is on this list. Unfortunately, these this romance would be torn apart because of how Robin was killed trying to save her life. Their love was so amazing that he was still with her and in a sense, he was with her to help her be able to move on with her life and be happy. Their love was so incredibly strong that even their clones fell for each other. Plus, this is an interracial romance, which is something we need more of in media. 6.Batman/Bruce Wayne and Catwoman/Selina Kyle

This is ironic because my least favorite comic book couple (and one of my least favorite couples in general) is The Joker and Harley Quinn. Anyway, if The Joker is Batman's villainous opposite, Catwoman is Batman's villainous similarity. Yes, I got that from the Nostalgia Critic video! Anyway, both of them are very similar because both of them have tragic backstories, dress up in skintight outfits, have style to them, and operate outside of the law. However, Batman fights crime and is a good guy, while Catwoman will both fight crime and commit crimes. Batman has more of a moral code than Catwoman and tries to influence her. He tries to deny that there is an attraction and strong chemistry between the two, but of course, there is no hiding his true feelings for her. Catwoman is obviously very flirtatious with Batman and uses his attraction to her to her advantage. However, it's clear that even when she has nothing to gain from it, she'll save him from danger because she loves him. There have been many different interpretations of these two that are pretty interesting. In the comics, Selina came from a tragic life but was middle-class and later lived off the streets, as opposed to the animated series where she's a wealthy upper-class woman like Bruce. In Batman Returns, she's more of a psychotic... well, more than usual. Bruce thinks that he can save her but realizes that he's insane too and that they both could use some saving. These two probably have the most complicated relationship EVER! Sometimes they know each others identities and other times they don't. But either way, they're still amazing. 5.Shrek and Fiona (The Shrek Franchise)

Talk about the opposite version of Belle and Beast. Instead of the ugly monster turning into someone beautiful, it's someone beautiful turning into the ugly monster. But you know what? That's part of what makes it so unique. Fiona no longer cared what she looked like because she had finally found the one she loved and he loved her for who she is on the inside, not the outside. The two of them have a really strong chemistry and it's clear throughout all of the Shrek movies. I love how Shrek was even willing to give up his species to make Fiona happy but it turned out that wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted to live happily ever after with the ogre she married because that's the one who helped her change and become the person she was. The two of them are incredibly dedicated to each other but they also act like a real married couple. They’d have their fights and arguments but in the end, would do whatever they can to make it up to each other. They even had kids together, which is always a great symbol of love, unless it ends in divorce. However, in this case, it just makes their love for each other stronger because it just means there's more of their love to go around and their love created three little miracles. 4.Danielle and Henry (Ever After)

This is definitely the best version of the couple of Cinderella and Prince Charming because we actually see them talk about their dreams/interests and get to know each other. They have a clear instant chemistry from the very moment that they met each other. The two of them are very dedicated to each other but they actually do start off being friends and it wasn’t just, "I wanna marry you." The two of them were friends that clearly had a thing for each other and would later admit that it's love. Unfortunately, Danielle didn't want to admit it because she was pretending to be a high-class lady when she was really a servant girl. She was afraid of being rejected by Henry, which he did because she lied to him. However, not too long after, he went after Danielle and begged for her forgiveness because he realizes how stupid he was for almost losing the most important thing in his life that he loved more than anything, her. I love how we do get to see them get to know each other with such amazing scenes. Neither one of them is shown as the weaker one but instead as an equal team. They can both take care of themselves and do save each other. They're a great couple and clearly deserve all the love that they get. 3.Quasimodo and Madellaine (The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2)

Such a tragically underrated couple that deserves a lot more love, despite coming from a bad movie. These two just have instant chemistry from the very beginning. Madellaine acts silly and feels self-conscious, but Quasimodo finds her charming and he even gets in on the silliness. At first, she was frightened by his deformed appearance but later sees what a kind-hearted and sweet soul that he was, so she gave him a chance. He showed her so many new things that happen every day that she never noticed were so amazing. I love how both have been abused and have their insecurities and helped each other work through them. Madellaine was very insecure and didn't feel particularly pretty, smart, or capable of anything great. However, Quasimodo thought that she was beautiful, clever, funny, and amazing and helped her to see all of this. Madellaine managed to look beyond Quasimodo's appearance and see the true beauty inside of him. To her, on the inside anyway, he was the most beautiful person in the world. I think they're an even better message of beauty lying within than Belle and Beast or Shrek and Fiona because neither had to change their appearance to be with the other. They loved each other for what was on the inside and the only thing that changed was how they viewed themselves because of their love for the other. Madellaine loved Quasimodo so much that she would rather have him hate her than for the villain to hurt or kill him. That's true dedication and absolute true love. Their love is a beauty that can't be denied. 2.Jack and Rose (Titanic) & Noah and Allie (The Notebook)

It's hard to decide between these two because both couples are really similar but do have different outcomes. I mean, both are about poor guys who fall in love with rich girls that are having their lives decided for them and are about to be in a loveless marriage until their true loves come along. However, Jack and Rose end in tragedy because Jack dies saving Rose's life. Noah and Allie, on the other hand, actually do get married and live a long and happy life together. However, both of them end in a very similar way. Rose dies as an old woman and is reunited with Jack and both Noah and Allie die at the same time when they're old. The Notebook is actually based off Nicholas Spark's wife's grandparents love story, so that's very romantic. I love how both couples try to keep their love alive. Jack is dead but Rose keeps him alive by taking his last name and never forgetting him because he helped make her the person she always wanted to be. Someone who wasn't afraid to define her own destiny. But his love also gave her the strength to be able to move on, marry someone else, and start a family. Allie in her elderly age had dementia, so she was having a problem remembering things, so Noah would try to keep the memory of their love for each other alive. Both couples are very well-written and romantic as can be. Both couples make people ball their eyes out and it's clear to see why. However, there is one couple that is better than them. 1.Carl and Ellie (Up)

There is absolutely no doubt about it that Carl and Ellie are the best fictional couple to ever come into existence! We don't get to see the story of how they fell in love but we did get to see their married life together. They were friends as kids, so of course, they knew a lot about each other and were really close. They grew up, fall in love, got married, and just lived their lives together. It gets to the point of what all of us looking for love want. To be with someone to have a life with, be your best friend, make memories with, grow old with, and spend the rest of your life with. You can see how much these two just loved each other and how whenever they had a problem they managed to get through it because they worked as a team like a real married couple would. Carl felt bad that Ellie never lived to have the adventure she dreamed of but it turned out that he gave her an even greater adventure, their life together. His love for her and the life they built together was what made her die a happy woman. If you look through the scenes she’s in from the movie, there was hardly any moments when she wasn’t smiling because she was just so happy to be with the man she loved, same with him. I love how both of them brought out the best in each other, despite being both different and similar. He's shy and awkward while she's energetic and talkative. But both of them have such an amazing sense of adventure. Seeing their life together is always the best part of the movie and are clearly, in my opinion, the best couple with the best love story of all time. While I think the movie itself is overrated, if it wasn’t for this couple, it never would’ve won the Oscar for Best Animated Picture (Which I felt should’ve gone to The Princess and the Frog). This couple is relationship goals, especially for me, except I want to have kids and will adopt children if I need to.

There’s that burly trapper dude, the sharpshooter dude, and the manipulative lady. I think I want her to deal with poisons and stuff? One hunter is killed in Georgia, Rat has a snap-second reaction and kills this guy on the spot without realizing it’s like a hunter. Peter recognizes him, bursts out laughing when Rat kills him ?? hmm Can’t decide which hunter bites it first. The sharpshooter is really cute and all the girls fawn over him and it makes Peter mad because he’s a gross weirdo and doesn’t like competition. Sharpshooter loves birds, his sister and him keep birds and Peter loves birds too. Loves them. The village declines because Grandfather has a CHANGE OF HEART and decides human sacrifices are OUT and love is IN and that makes Peter SO ANGERY... it makes Hito angry too!!!!! THE LAND IS CURSED THAT’S WHY PPL THINK THEY’RE SEEING WOLVES BUT THEY   ARE   NOT   WOLVES  LOL the founders aka 3 lil piggies, man with house of hay stacks, man who built house of wood, and Grandfather with his stone home, all 3 are destroyed, other two men are killed, leaving Grandfather and the residents of the land AKA HITOTIANS!!! I have a scene where Sharpshooter’s sister kills her sons because she had sex with Grandfather and therefore committed a Sin and punished herself by killing her kids, and then killed the birds she kept and was shoving them inside herself and screaming gibberish about how they were going to remove the sin from her, and Peter and some of the villagers are there and I think I was thinking Peter would allow Sharpshooter to kill her instead of himself as like a familial courtesy out of respect. Peter’s more upset about the birds :( and maybe some sick pleasure in seeing Sharpshooter upset having to kill his sister like idk. Taking pride in someone else’s misery. Hito keeps Grandfather alive because that’s punishment death would be the easy way out!!! Live and suffer!! I’m gonna do away with the toxic chemicals thing because Hito can just mutate people as punishment and I like that better. If Rat kills the handsome guy then ... That leave gruff trapper dude who would be more well equipped to deal with Rat in the last arc, but... I’m thinking Peter gains trust from Grandfather by getting Sharpshooter on his side like “I let you take your sister’s life, I didn’t rob you of that, I’m a man of my word and you can testify” sort of shit. The lady hunter tho isn’t having any of Peter’s shit and they have a confrontation and Amy helps and yea they help each other. I like the idea of Peter covering her with a rifle as she goes out into the wild to find Rat, then Peter had to go after Amy because she gets her leg caught in a bear trap and has to get her outta there and is like Well I’m already here might as well look for Rat before Sharpshooter finds him fuuck he tells Amy to go back and hide but she sneakily trails by the time Peter finds Rat, Rat’s stuck in a hole!!! I HAVEN’T DECIDED HOW RYAN, JESS, AND KYLE GET OUT OF THEIR TORTUROUS PREDICAMENT YET BUT I WILL BECAUSE THEY’RE THERE and they all reunite and RAT DESCENDS ONTO THE VILLAGE AND KILLS EVERYBODY LOL, theres all these Hitotian demons that just DECIMATE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. Ryan is SO MAD at Peter because this is ALL HIS FAULT, and Amy already had this fight with Peter but they reconciled and teamed up but RYAN IS NOT FORGIVING and GOUGES PETER’S EYES OUT SO HE CAN’T SEE HIS GOD ( THIS IS SO SAD.meme ) and it’s the real first time since his reign as tyrant of the village when he was younger just FLIP THE FUCK OUT because Rat’s going through his final stages of metamorphosis and everyone can witness it but Peter slkdgjslkgh RYAN!!!!!!
