A cute little beagle with big smiley eyes … how could you not fall in love with Watson? But the residents of my Parisian building were terrified when they saw him enter. Watson is not like any other dog. He’s trained to detect the tiny insects that have been all over the front pages of French newspapers for the past few weeks: bedbugs.
This fall, fear has become paranoia. Pictures of bedbugs in cinemas, metros, and trains have saturated social media. “I’ve been getting so many calls from worried people lately,” says Watson’s owner, Charlotte Ducomte, founder of the company WatsonDetect. For years now, she and Watson have been going through the city and its suburbs to detect bedbugs in private apartments and company offices. These past few weeks, she’s been inundated with calls from people who “wanted to have their apartment checked … just in case.” There is “ia bedbug panic in Paris” right now, she says.
Bedbug numbers in France have surged in 2023. There’s been a 65 percent increase in pest control visits for the insects across the country this year compared to last, says France’s Union Chamber of Insect Control.
This is partly due to the weather. According to Jean-Michel Bérenger, an entomologist who cofounded the National Institute for the Study and Fight Against Bedbugs in 2018, heat accelerates a bedbug’s life cycle, and September and October have been particularly hot in Paris—average temperatures have been 4.5 degrees Celsius above normal. “When the temperature inside your house is 25 to 26 degrees Celsius (77 to 78.8 Fahrenheit), it takes only five days for the bedbug eggs to hatch. In normal conditions, when the temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, it takes 10 days,” he explains.
But the current plague of bedbugs is also part of a general rise in their numbers in recent years, says Bérenger. The modern world, filled with people constantly on the move, easily allows the insects to spread. Ducomte says numbers have been increasing in Paris since 2002 and attributes this to more visitors to the city, driven by cheap flights and the convenience of Airbnb. “People move a lot more than before … and thus, they are more likely to be infested,” she says.
When Watson moves through my apartment, he doesn’t stop anywhere. Lucky me. Pausing is his way of showing his owner that he can smell bedbugs, which in the early stages of an infestation can be hard to detect—the insects are quite shy, often hiding inside furniture frames or under floorboards during the day and coming out to feast at night. With few effective tools for detecting small numbers of bedbugs, dog-based services have become increasingly popular in the city, even if the limited research on them suggests their accuracy can be patchy.
And even if a dog can sniff the insects out, it can’t get rid of them. This has to be done by humans. Parisian pest control companies are doing a healthy trade too.
For Hygiène Premium, which specializes in insect and rat control, traditionally about 40 to 50 percent of people calling them have trouble with bedbugs. “Now, that’s eight people out of 10,” says Sacha Krief, its associate manager. Overall, his company has seen a 30 percent increase in the number of bedbug-treatment cases.
According to Anses, France’s national health security agency, the average cost to get rid of bedbugs is 890 euros ($937), and the price is often even higher in Paris. “It can go up to 1,000, 2,000, even 3,000 euros. Not many people can get this out of their bank accounts overnight,” says Antoine Demière, an advisor to Paris’ first deputy in charge of urban planning. Given the large amounts of money involved, a national registry of certified companies is in the works to prevent unscrupulous actors from scamming clients—40 cases of bedbug-related fraud have been reported to France’s directorate for consumer affairs over the past few months.
For social tenants, there’s protection against these high prices, thanks to a 2020 agreement signed between the town hall and social housing groups. Each household pays an additional 4 euros per year on their rent, and, in cases of a bedbug infestation, the city will take care of it for free. “Our top priority is to protect lower-income Parisians,” explains Demière. “We don’t help the poorer population because they’re more likely to get bedbugs, but because they’re less likely to be able to pay thousands of euros to have their home disinfected.”
However, it can take up to several weeks before the social housing groups hire private pest control companies to take care of the problem—way too long to contain the crisis, says Ducomte.
These companies have traditionally used chemicals to get rid of bedbugs, but they are using them less and less, says Bérenger: “The European Union now prohibits the use of some, and people are less and less eager to have chemical products all over their house.” Plus, bedbugs are getting resistant, he says. “They won’t die, they’ll just move on to another apartment, especially when the protocol is not professionally executed.” For these reasons, French companies are now prioritizing “mechanical solutions.” The main three are steam treatment, cryogenic technologies, and heat guns—the goal being to kill bedbugs and their eggs using either very high or very low temperatures. These processes are more expensive than chemical ones because they require more people, but they also save a lot of time.
“When you use chemicals, the house or the hotel room must be emptied for two to three weeks,” says Bérenger. “But one morning can be enough to treat an entire school with dog detection and a mix of the mechanical solutions.” The entomologist has already treated schools in this manner in Marseille; Demière confirms that schools have also been disinfected with mechanical solutions in Paris.  But even with these measures, Bérenger thinks overall numbers are unlikely to decline, given recent trends. Instead, “the number of bedbugs will probably continue to increase until it reaches a plateau,” he estimates. For him, the current media hype is useful. More people are now aware of the problem and know how to recognize bedbugs—thus, the problem of an infestation can be addressed earlier in many instances.
Yet public awareness brings a new problem: misinformation. “Everybody now thinks they know everything about bedbugs,” says Krief. “But people tend to forget that pest control is a real job. You can’t get rid of bedbugs with chamomile oil.”  The national government’s response to the problem this autumn has been slow—something that Demière, of the Parisian government, ascribes to “the French administration mille-feuilles.” To him, the little layered cake is a good illustration of French bureaucracy, with the different parts of the system not joined up and working together. As of now, there are no national rules or regulations on bedbugs. This makes it difficult to establish efficient ways to contain the pests—but there are some proposals on the table.
For instance, in France it’s mandatory for home owners and tenants to have home insurance. Paris officials are pushing for the addition of a bedbug clause in this insurance—but without increasing premiums too much: “The idea would be to add a few euros a year to the mandatory insurance,” says Demière. “We all have to be insured against fire, even though, luckily, very few people will have a fire in their home. Why couldn’t it be the same with bedbugs?” This might not stop the insects from spreading, but it would at least help people avoid getting hit with huge bills. The availability of insurance might also convince people to treat infestations as a priority, which could lower the rate at which the bugs spread. The mayor of Paris is involved in talks with the government and is also in touch with members of parliament, who have recently brought the subject to the National Assembly: On October 3, left-wing MP Mathilde Panot brought a bedbug (in a test tube) into parliament to force the government to take action to contain the crisis. A ministerial meeting took place on October 6, but so far, nothing has been announced. But with on nine months until the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will bring in hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world, time is running out for France to get on top of the problem.

Alphabet Soup
rating: t word count: 1.7k pairing: jemily summary: perhaps love is in the little moments more than the grand gestures. 26 times (among many) that JJ and Emily fall a little bit more in love with each other in the everyday, smaller moments.
read on ao3, if you’d prefer
---
A - alphabet soup
JJ bought cans of alphabet soup for the boys when Michael first began to read, but Emily quickly found it much more entertaining to spell out words like "boob" or "ass" or "sex?" punctuated with a poorly modified capital P in place of a question mark. JJ had to shut it down when Michael asked what a "tit" was, and Emily panicked and mumbled something about birds.
B - bedtime
They would often unwind by reading before bedtime, and JJ found that Emily read through many foreign literature books. The nights she would fall asleep to Emily stroking her hair and reading aloud in words she didn't understand were the nights she felt most rested.
C - constellations
It was clear that Emily didn't actually know any constellations besides the Big Dipper and Orion. But when she laid on the grass with Henry and Michael, she made up stories in the stars about great heroes and the adventures they went on, and the boys fell in love with the night sky.
D - driving
JJ insisted on driving everywhere without the help of smartphone maps, which had gotten them lost on several occasions. Somehow it felt alright, when she had one hand on the wheel and one hand on Emily's leg, the windows were down, and her hair was streaming in the wind and reflecting the setting sun. Somehow it felt alright to be lost with her.
E - errands
For whatever reason, JJ made running any errand seem like immense fun. Buying groceries, getting gas, even sending a letter felt like an adventure when she was there. They'd only gotten kicked out of one grocery store — when JJ had knocked over an entire display stand of candy bars after running and jumping onto a shopping cart. They didn't regret anything.
F - forehead kiss
JJ wasn't that much shorter than Emily, but when the brunette pressed her lips to her girlfriend's forehead, JJ would feel the need to bury her face in Emily's neck to hide her blushing cheeks.
G - graveyard
On that day, JJ just needed space. So Emily took her to the flower shop the day before and drove her to the cemetery that morning and left her alone until she was ready. In the evening, they didn't speak, just laid with one another on the couch until JJ fell asleep in her arms.
H - horror movie
It was a cheap jump scare, but it made JJ scream out and grab Emily's arm, prompting the older woman to laugh at her. JJ responded with a playful slap, and Emily had to kiss her to reaffirm her love. They didn't finish the movie.
I - ice cream
On a day off, Emily took the boys to get ice cream, and when they came home raving about how Emily had managed to stack five ice cream scoops on top of a single cone, JJ knew she was with the right woman.
J - jaw
Emily's knees grew weak whenever JJ kissed up her jaw and whispered in her ear. Her girlfriend caught on and loved messing with her, working her up into a complete frenzy, then saying the most unsexy thing she could think of. Emily hated it, but she also couldn’t help but to collapse into a fit of giggles when JJ planted kisses all up the side of her face and whispered something like "corned beef" in a seductive voice.
K - kitchen
JJ would use every kitchen utensil as a musical instrument during any spare moment in cooking — while the food was cooking, while the water boiled, while the oven was preheating. She would sing into a wooden spoon and shove it into Emily's face to finish the lyric, and the two would dance in each others' arms all throughout the kitchen.
L - letters
When Emily spent her time in Paris and London, she and JJ wrote each other scores of letters the times they weren't together. They'd both filled up an entire box of papers and knickknacks until they were reunited. Even after, JJ would sometimes write a letter addressed to Emily, drop it into the mailbox and tell Emily to check the mail, for no reason except to make her smile.
M - mugs
JJ had an entire cupboard dedicated to mugs for her tea, which Emily could never understand because she only seemed to ever use two of them: one being a lumpy mug Henry had made in a pottery store and the other being a Valentine’s Day gift from Emily with lovely ceramic boobs protruding from the mug’s body.
N - notes
Emily bought a massive pack of post-its and began leaving notes for JJ around work, bringing a smile to her face every time she found a little colorful message. Some were encouraging — you can do it, you light up my world, you're amazing. Some were cheesy — i love you, je t’aime, when you see this blow me a kiss. And some were...questionable — JJ had to hide the extremely accurate (and well-annotated!) drawing of her naked body before Hotch saw.
O - omelette
Most of the time, Emily couldn't cook without the risk of burning the house down, but for some reason, she made the most scrumptious omelette. Despite not knowing how to cook scrambled or fried or boiled eggs, Emily's omelettes were always perfectly cooked, with an impeccable ratio of egg to filling. JJ tried everything she could to make them the same way, but the boys always preferred Emily's omelettes on Sunday mornings. JJ wondered if it was something she learned during her time in Paris.
P - plants
Before JJ, Emily had never been very good at taking care of plants. They seemed to die with little to no warning. But JJ had taught her well, making little plant calendars and teaching her signs to watch out for, and one morning, JJ caught her talking to one of the plants. As she listened more carefully, she heard that Emily was talking to each plant in a different language — according to the plant’s country of origin.
Q - quiet
The moments after the boys were put to bed were some of the only moments of quiet JJ and Emily got alone during the day. No matter how busy or tired they were, they always intentionally took a few moments to just quietly be with one another, curled up in the other's arms, lying in the other's lap, or simply sitting side by side.
R - rain
They'd gotten caught in the storm on the way back to the office from lunch. Despite JJ’s coat held up above them, the pair was getting drenched anyway, and they gave up and decided to make out in the rain instead. They swung their hands back and forth as they splashed over to the BAU, arriving soaked to the bone but elated, as Hotch shook his head at their sodden clothing and dopey grins.
S - Sergio
Emily had arrived home early and found JJ dancing in the hallway with Sergio to "Can't Stop the Feeling" blasting on the bluetooth speaker. She lifted her ban on Justin Timberlake that day, which had previously been in place when in a moment of weakness, JJ had declared she would choose him over Emily if given the chance. (She’d taken it back for Emily's sake, but deep down she couldn't really decide.)
T - thermostat
JJ liked the thermostat to be set at no lower than 77 degrees, while Emily loved the room as cold as possible. The first few months that they lived together was a horrible battle of constantly changing from one drastic temperature to the next, before JJ finally agreed to keeping the temperature low as long as Emily agreed to cuddle with her any time she got cold. Emily did not, however, realize that this compromise extended to the workplace, where JJ would sporadically ask for cuddles throughout the day, and Emily would have to comply.
U - ugly pajamas
Emily loved her ugly pajama sets. One of her favorites was a bright green Grinch onesie in a ridiculous Christmas sweater. JJ hated it until Emily showed it to the boys, and Michael howled with laughter and asked for one for himself. From that day forward, Emily bought her ugly pajamas in full family sets, including accompanying costumes for Sergio.
V - vanilla
Emily didn’t quite mind JJ’s early morning jogs because her favorite moments were when JJ came home after, took a shower, and climbed back into bed to give Emily a warm embrace, flooding her senses with the smell of vanilla shampoo. Emily would roll over to nuzzle her head in the crook of JJ’s neck and plant soft kisses there, breathing in her favorite scent.
W - wine
Emily drank red, JJ drank white. And Henry and Michael loved to join in, pretending to be adults by sipping grape juice from their colorful cups. Perhaps their family had unconventional tea parties, but at least they always had massive amounts of fun doing family activities tipsy. These were the nights when it was almost difficult to tell the difference between Michael and Emily’s coloring pages.
X - X-Files
JJ didn’t fully understand Emily’s deep obsession with The X-Files, but after Emily convinced her that she wasn’t only watching for Gillian Anderson, the younger woman began finding the long rambles and discussions of extraterrestrial life more endearing and interesting.
Y - yarn
JJ really wanted to get the hang of knitting and give something special to the boys, but Emily kept distracting her. Any chance she got, Emily would hold the yarn balls to her chest as fake boobs, use threads of yarn as mustaches, and drum the knitting needles against any surface. It wasn’t that JJ couldn't finish her projects out of annoyance — it was that JJ couldn’t help but laugh and find her girlfriend irresistible, forcing her to set aside her work and wrap herself up instead in the brunette’s embrace.
Z - zoo
It was Emily's explosive childlike joy when she had seen the dolphins. She claimed it was for the boys’ sakes, but JJ had noticed the pure excitement in her eyes when they saw the sign and felt the way Emily had tugged on her wrist to rush to the stadium and grab seats right in the splash zone. And in the screams of laughter and the moment when both Henry and Michael clutched at Emily when the water washed over them, JJ knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this woman.

I see lots of people asking you for fic recs, but I never see anyone asking you about your own fics. So what would you say are your top 3 favorite fics you've written and why?
Ooh that’s really cool question! I’ve written 77 (!) Marvel fics at this point, so this was quite hard to narrow down. Not that I love everything I’ve written (although everyone should love their own fics—write for yourself and all that jazz) but there are just a lot of very different stories at this point that convey a lot of different moods, you know?
Anyway, here are three that I’m pretty proud of and I think kind of span the range of my favorite things to create:
Five Times Bruce Banner is Not That Kind of Doctor™ + One Time He’s Perfect For the Job
Bruce Banner is not a medical doctor.
Granted, he has seven various advanced degrees—ranging in topics from radio and nuclear physics to biochemistry—and he is widely considered one of the brightest minds of his time, but aside from basic first aid, he has no formal medical training. He’s just not that kind of doctor.
Except for when he needs to be.
^^This was the first Marvel collab I did with @awesomesockes and it really kicked off a lot of fun times for us. I think it’s a really funny/original concept and we got to explore writing from Bruce’s POV as we really tried to pin down our characterizations for the different Avengers. Also we wrote the whole thing crazy fast (under 2 weeks for the whole story), so there was this buzzing, excited vibe to it. I am still super proud of this story.
Long Distance Dadding
“Uh…” Morgan hesitates. “Peter can’t come to the phone right now.” Tony frowns. “Why’s that?” “He’s throwing up,” she says simply. “Morgan!” he hears Peter groan irritably in the background. “What?” she demands, speaking away from the phone now. “You told me to talk to him for you, so I am.”
Or: Peter gets sick while babysitting Morgan at the lake house and Tony is a Worried Dad™ about it.
^^This story was super self-indulgent in a lot of ways. One, it’s a proper sickfic, which I’m always a sucker for. Two, it relies heavily on text and phone interactions between the characters, which I find really fun to write from a technical POV. It adds an extra challenge when one of the characters doesn’t have all the information and so is getting info through a filtered lens, like over phone calls. Third, I just really loved writing Morgan in this one. She’s a really fun character to explore and I had a blast trying to nail down the 6-year-old “caretaker” vibe.
(And I’m just a sucker for Uncle Happy to the rescue)
The Guy in the Chair
Between having a reckless superhero for a best friend and dealing with his own family’s vast array of issues, Ned gets used to being everyone’s support system.
^^This is another story that I’m really proud of, mainly because it was really personal to write. It also focuses on Ned and how he deals with his best friend constantly putting himself in harm’s way and all the stresses in his own life as he functions in a supportive role for a lot of people. I’ve gotten some really in-depth, thoughtful responses to this story from people who’ve said it meant a lot to them, and they just kind of hit differently than the response I get to my more lighthearted stories, so that’s really cool to see <3

“What brings me nostalgia? Living in this house definitely does. I grew up here, up until my parents died, so I’m constantly being reminded of the happier part of my childhood whenever I’m here. Christmas makes me nostalgic too, because I only ever celebrated Christmas with my parents.
I keep my home at around 77 degrees. I get cold easily, and I prefer warmer temperatures. If you forget...I wore a big jacket in the tropics.
I sleep with one big downy comforter on my bed. It’s huge, and heavy. I like the feeling of heavy blankets wrapped around me. My bed is...pretty huge. It’s an Alaskan king size, I think. I bought the biggest bed I could get my hands on. It’s got a really soft mattress and it’s always warm and comfortable. It’s also got canopy curtains to draw around the edges, if I want to keep light out, or I want extra privacy. I can sleep almost anywhere, though. I’m used to having to sleep when I’m uncomfortable. I didn’t exactly have a huge luxurious bed when I was in Despair or during the Tragedy, ahaha. Everyone had to make do.”

A (somehow both very biased and not very opinionated) review of the Met orchestra musicians concert “Song to the Moon” from February 21, 2021:
I had been bothering my Tumblr followers with my excitement over this event yesterday, so it felt only right for me to stop procrastinating and give an attempt for a review of the whole thing; I think this is actually my first time writing a lengthy review ever, and it will probably sound naïve and be an embarrassment for me in the future.
It started around 10 PM where I live. I sat in my bed with my computer while eating chocolate in order to stay awake throughout the whole thing, and trying not to spill any pieces on the sheets, excitedly waiting for this event, having actually bought myself a fifteen-buck ticket about three weeks prior with my parents’ credit card (they didn’t bat an eye when I asked their permission), happily knowing that the money was not going to end up in the pockets of the undeserving Met management.
Given the shitty Lebanese Wi-Fi and the fact that this was a livestream, I had been worried that I might miss significant chunks and get upset over the fact. The stream did glitch a few times for me during the first number (mainly because I had my computer on my constantly-moving knees, before settling it down next to me on the bed), but otherwise it never failed me.
But let’s get on with the review. The livestream began with a title card representing an animation of a lunar eclipse, displaying the title “Song to the Moon”. The concert started with a performance of Antonín Dvořák’s String Quintet No. 2 in G Major, Op. 77 by members of the Met orchestra. (actually, given that this is a Met musicians concert, I feel that they ought to be rightfully credited; Nancy Wu, 1st violin [for this piece], Bruno Eicher, 2nd violin [for this piece], Désirée Elsevier, viola, Kari Jane Docter, cello, and Leigh Mesh, double bass.)
I actually listened to a recording of this piece in preparation a few days prior, just so you guys know. Obviously, there were a few slightly flat notes that were played, but overall this was quite a pleasant rendition, and I still have the theme from the 2nd movement stuck in my head as I’m writing this. What I also liked was that at one point (i.e. when I was actually paying attention in that area) I could actually hear the notes being played by the double bass quite clearly, at least compared to the other recording that I had listened to.
Next on the program, the musicians were joined by soprano Angela Gheorghiu (i.e. my main reason for actually purchasing the ticket), who performed all the way from the Athenaeum of Bucharest, Romania, [1st instance of Raya uselessly gushing] looking ethereal in that shot that was shown of her just walking inside the building wearing that white dress and flowing cape, before the actual performance. Just a warning for you guys here; I love Gheorghiu (actually, it’s a bit of a celebrity “crush”), so please expect a little bit of somewhat controlled gushing here and there (partly physical appearance-wise, which are indicated by the bold, and which I deeply hate myself for). This part of the review is causing me even more anxiety for that reason.
She performed on the stage of a theater that was practically empty besides the pianist. She sang in two languages I do not understand at all, which helped me a bit with not getting too distracted by pronunciation. [2nd instance of Raya uselessly gushing] Before I get into what y’all actually came for, I just wanted to get it out of my system about how she had this appearance that defined “has aged, aged really well”. She had this kind of mature beauty, especially with her makeup, that seemed to give me the overall vibes of a pleasant middle-aged auntie. (well, this was very difficult embarrassing to write) Even her singing voice had this sound that can be described as having this sort of “mature” quality blended with the whole fact of her overall sound being “hers”. I hope I have made myself clear.
Okay, gushing finished for now, let’s move on with the review!
Apparently the footage taken in Bucharest and the one taken in New York were both filmed separately. I found it really mind-blowing how the audio of both got synchronized so perfectly.
The first gem Gheorghiu sang was an arrangement of “Tatăl nostru”; basically an early-19th-century musical setting of the Lord’s Prayer by Anton Pann that is still used to this day in the Romanian Orthodox Church (totally NOT reading off the PDF for the program notes provided on the website). I had obviously never heard this piece before; I had tried to (VERY lazily) look it up a bit, but to no avail. I unfortunately don’t remember much from this performance apart from everything mentioned before, but what I do know is that was rendered really epic thanks to the participation of principal Met percussionist Gregory Zuber alongside the string players.
Next was performed the aria after which the whole concert was named, the incredibly famous “Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém” (aka “Song to the Moon”) by Dvořák again, from the opera Rusalka. This version was actually arranged by the violist Elsevier, who is among the musicians who retired from the Met during the pandemic. And it was indeed a beautiful arrangement! Now, unlike “Tatăl nostru”, which I virtually knew nothing about, I love this aria and know it quite well, so I did pay attention to some of the pronunciation; but then again, I do not speak Czech, so it didn’t matter much. Overall, Gheorghiu’s rendition was not perfect (I thinnnnnnnnk there were some notes that were a little bit out of tune? but there was vibrato that also touched the right tone and so I couldn’t tell), and I would certainly not imagine it within the full context of Rusalka the opera (see what I noted above concerning the quality of her voice), but that did not stop me from finding it quite beautiful.
It felt so weird not to hear any applause after each number, and so I could not help but clap after each gem, even though no one could hear me.
After the concert wrapped up, the audience got to watch a chat session between Gheorghiu and Met horn player Barbara Jöstlein Currie, where they talked about how this whole thing came to be (so apparently there was Instagram DM’ing between the two that was involved in the preparation?), before the five string players (which actually include two married couples!) whose music we heard earlier joined in. So unlike the concert, which was all pre-recorded, this was a Zoom session being streamed live. [3rd instance of Raya uselessly gushing] Gheorghiu’s speaking voice sounds radically different from her singing voice, and I can tell English is not her primary language, but that’s just something useless I wanted to include, on which I have zero strong feelings. In contrast to the pre-recorded concert, here she was responsible for me writing in The Balcony Seats Discord server earlier today about how “you know you have aged well when you end up looking a bit like Morticia Addams”, especially with the makeup. [gushing done]
The whole discussion hinged on the concept of “Met family”, and I found the whole interaction between Gheorghiu and the musicians just very very sweet, a star singer and musicians in the pit seeing each other as equals, as family. It’s not every day that I see that (but then again, my background is severely limited, so what do I know). Among the relatively unimportant things the convo touched on that stick with me, in no particular order, are:
Gheorghiu apparently married on the stage of the Met because the guy from the City Hall lost their papers and I never knew that??? (but then again, I never directly research info about my hyperfixations because I get overwhelmed) Everyone had a nice laugh at that recollection.
She got into this whole profession mainly to sing at the Met. Also the whole deal of her making L*vine cry and making her debut at a young age for a star singer.
Everyone relating to the feeling of going home at night after a concert, and not being able to go to sleep because you still have adrenaline flowing through you. As someone who does performing arts, I also relate to that on a moderate degree.
Family life talks.
Gheorghiu mentioning how she can’t work with a director who’s like “your character does that because that’s what I decided” because something something harmony? I can’t remember; I’m pretty sure I’m misquoting. But that’s basically the equivalent of “my house, my rules” (”my production, my interpretation” in that case, lol) imo, so can’t object too much.
Something about playing the finale of Götterdämmerung led the musicians to humorously throw in the idea of Gheorghiu singing Brünnhilde as her next role, and she went all “nah” to that, also humorously.
This led to her admitting that she’s not the biggest fan of Wagner’s music (though she would consider singing Elsa); saying that she’d travel back in time to tell Wager to stop writing these interminable phrases, to just get to the point (I’m not really into Wagner either, so I don’t completely disagree). Also, she believes that Wagner is difficult to sing, and that singers who nail Wagner tend to end up singing only Wagner (here, I think it depends, but there is a point somewhere in here).
She doesn’t seem to like singing acapella/without music very much, which also led her to record some sAcRiLEgiOuS versions of Orthodox worship songs, which you’re apparently not supposed to sing with music.
She sang something like “goodnight, goodnight” (idk) at the very end, it was cute.
To go back to the important stuff, Gheorghiu apparently wrote directly to the Met donors, asking to help in any way, because she wanted to set an example for other people by doing the right thing, and to help what she sees as her “family”, as mentioned above. I had heard some stories about her diva reputation (and she does seem to enjoy attention and stuff, from what I’ve seen myself), but overall she seems like a pretty good person. Mainly mentioning that because as y’all know I’m autistic and can’t tell intricate body language and stuff, plus my very strong belief that good person >>>>>>> great performer. (but my dear friends say that loving her is valid, so I guess I’m safe from too much disappointment. what am I even writing).
And that’s it for my incredibly long and uselessly detailed and almost incoherent and somewhat gushy review, which took me nearly 3 hours to write (and for which I may or may not have replayed a little bit of the stream just to get one bit of info right), and which will, again, probably embarrass me for the rest of my puny life, but which I could not not let out into the void of operablr.
(There were also moments earlier today where I was fantasizing about being interviewed on that very Zoom meeting for the scene-and-duet I composed back in January in response to the Met’s poor treatment of its musicians)
I guess what I can take from this post is: never write a review again, Raya!

FULL NAME:  Peter Maunsell Kirkland  NICKNAME(S):  “Sea” (which he adores) or sometimes “Pete” (which gives him a rash every single time he hears it) AGE:  physically 14, chronologically 77  BIRTHDAY:  2 September    (he’s kind of weird in that  1. the actual day he began existing is concretely known and not in any way lost to time, but  2. it wasn’t anywhere near his founding day as a micronation.  so technically it’s actually in February but that’s COMPLICATED so WHATEVER he just IGNORES THAT)
SPECIES:  micronation personification  NATIONALITY:  english  GENDER:  male PREFERRED PRONOUN(S):  he / him ORIENTATION:  very in denial  RELIGION:  protestant - though fun fact, one of the rooms of the north tower is technically a multi-faith church  OCCUPATION:  moderately popular twitch streamer of humourous miscellany.  “STORYTIME!  MY HOUSE GOT TAKEN OVER AND I GOT SHOT?  (NOT CLICKBAIT), recounted while i clean my kitchen”   “reading your creepypasta suggestions with my mouth full of marshmallows”   “playing cs:go while BLINDFOLDED”,  that kind of thing.  also volunteers at a children’s reading group at the library and makes for a delightfully lively narrator  STATUS:  doing pretty well overall!  FANDOM:  hetaliaaa  FACE CLAIM:  don’t really have one !
                  RELATIONSHIPS:
PARENTS:  technically none, but he regards his first prince and princess as having fulfilled that role to him.  SIBLINGS:  eng|and, mostly!!  and though technically, this connects him with a LOT of people through eng|and, it’s hard for him to feel close to most of them unless he knows for sure that they’d regard him as an important member of their family, and not just Some Weird Irritating Micronation Who’s Just Kinda There.  they might be fond of him without him realising, but even then he’s slow to trust that.   he’s undecided whether Wy is more like a sibling or a cousin, but she’s... one of those, at least. shihong (kow|oon walled city) is a very important and deeply treasured Shitty Older Brother Figure and Generally A Bad Influence as well !!
SIGNIFICANT OTHER(S):  none, but heaven help him he gets so many stupid shitty crushes on his stupid shitty friends  CHILDREN:  he is the.   ENEMIES:  hopefully nobody, but occasionally eng|and (it REALLY depends), and his own best friends sometimes find themselves The Enemy Zone, because being the age that he is it just be like that sometimes.

              PHOBIAS AND DISEASES:
PHOBIA(S):  any land animal bigger than approximately a large dog (is not a phobia per se, but he finds them alarming and stressful to be around).  he’s similarly uneasy with violent sea storms and bad weather in general.  MENTAL DISEASE(S):   seasonal affective disorder, during the winter.  he’s self-conscious in a way that might qualify as a social anxiety, because he’s so hyper-aware of how other people might perceive him and often anticipating criticism or ridicule (which clashes pretty heavily with how outgoing he wants to be), but that might just the way his personality developed.  this last one doesn’t bother him like 97% of the time, but every few years he will suddenly get hit with this intense paranoia and exhaustive vigilance, and becomes afraid of leaving his house, which usually lasts a few months and goes away on its own.
also, i’ve probably accidentally made him adhd coded just bc i also have that to a pretty intense degree, and so write from that perspective.  especially the way his anger just surges up out of nowhere, like damn

The chilly season, for some of us...(a rant for skinny people)
Is really not that great. For many people the prospect of winter and cold weather is joyous and to be anticipated. For some of us, it is to be dreaded. I can understand for those bigger than me how winter could be amazing, but for people like me it's a nightmare. I'm 5' tall, and I weigh about 97lbs on a good day and not because I choose to. I have an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's which affects the thyroid gland and disrupts the body's ability to cope with low temperatures. My whole life I've been told by others to "Buck up, it's nice outside", "Just wear more layers", "Wow how can you hate this weather", and "Maybe you wouldn't be so cold if you ate more". Bitch I could probably out eat you any day. I literally cannot retain meat unless I work out and eat constantly, and with my level of fatigue it's just not in the cards most of the time. I would love to weigh 104lbs. I would love to not hurt when I get out of bed because the house is below 77 degrees. I would love to be able to go outside in December without my joints freezing up and aching because my body is shivering so hard my bones hurt because my body literally cannot retain heat. I would love to not have to wear a sweater inside while everyone else is in a t-shirt. I would love to have the curves that other girls have. I would love to not be told to "eat a cheeseburger" so I can gain weight, are you gonna buy me one? I hate winter with a passion. My point being, not all of us are thin because we want to be, or don't eat, or whatever, and we don't like being given useless "advice" from people with no understanding. Next time you feel like talking shit because I complain about the cold, why don't you just shut the fuck up instead. Thanks.

Final Takeaway
My First Picks…
These first five are favorites because they are quick ways to get started making extra money and they have long-term potential as well! All five of them do require an internet connection, but sine you’re reading this from the internet, I think you’re covered there ?
1. Share Your Opinion
and get money sent to your PayPal
Yup, you can actually generate side income by simply giving your opinion via online surveys. It’s not going to make you rich tomorrow, but it’s still a great way to generate extra income during your down time.
If you think surveys may be the way to go, check out our full list of the top survey companies for both online and offline opinions here.
Survey Junkie
  2. Door Dash
Door Dash is our favorite pick for food delivery because it’s been reported back to us that DoorDashers make slightly more than UberEats drivers. While we don’t have any factual statistics to prove this right or wrong, we still pick DoorDash over UberEats as our top side hustle for food delivery. If you have a car, bike, or scooter, get started with Door Dash today and start making money for your next vacation, your upcoming wedding, or whatever expense you’re saving for!
Maybe you just don’t feel like driving people around in your car or maybe you don’t even have a car. Depending on the city you live in, Uber Eats allows you to deliver food to people via your car, bike, or scooter. Turn on the app in the morning before work, when you get home, or whenever you have some extra time to make money on your terms.
Door Dash
  3. VIPKID
VIPKID will pay you up to $22/hour to teach English from the comfort of your home to children in China. Currently VIPKID has over 70,000 teachers teaching English as a second language to over 600,000 children in China.
They do require you to have a Bachelor’s degree from either the USA or Canada and they ask for “some teaching experience”. However, from the teachers we have spoke with from VIPKID, they said “teaching” doesn’t have to mean teaching in a traditional educational setting.
The lessons are 30 minutes long and you will be paid up to $11 for each 30-minute lesson. One thing to note is since you are teaching across the globe in a live setting, you will be teaching at odd hours (late at night or first thing in the morning). However, the teachers we spoke to said it was fun, rewarding, and it paid well for being able to stay at home and teach from their laptops.
VIPKID
4. Airbnb
Did you know you can rent your room or house out at Airbnb? They have been around since 2008 and millions of people have been renting out their rooms or entire homes to travelers from all over the world. If you do this right, you may be able to cover your entire mortgage! If you’re going to be gone for a month or two, you may as well allow your space to make money while you’re gone.
Airbnb
  5. Share Your Blog with the World
I started this blog in 2015 from my laptop at my kitchen table and today it generates over $10,000 per month 🙂 However, in the beginning it was just a side hustle project that turned into full-time income much quicker than I would have ever dreamed.
If you love writing, then starting a blog is exactly the right side hustle for you. There are many ways to generate income from blogging, with one of the most popular being through affiliate income.
How does it work?
You know how you can share a referral link from companies you love and they will send you $5 for referring them a customer? Affiliate partners work the exact same way.
Is blogging complicated?
Absolutely not! But just in case, I did create a step-by-step guide to help you get started in about 15 minutes.
Start a Blog
  6. Become a Virtual Assistant
If you enjoy working from your laptop, then becoming a virtual assistant may be exactly what you need. We use a few virtual assistants for Money Peach and one of them earns over $10,000 per month as a VA. Other places where you can become a virtual assistant for an agency where they find work for your is Upwork. They take a 10% fee, but 90% is still a great side hustle.
You can also listen to Episode 80 on the Money Peach Podcast (below) where my own Virtual Assistant shares how she got started as a VA and within a few years was able to quit her full-time job and start earning over $10k per month doing what she loved.
Virtual Assistant Course (Use Promo Code Peach 10 for $50 Off)
Online Hustles
I love online hustles because they give you the freedom to do these anywhere. If you’re constantly traveling for work or out of town a lot you’re going to absolutely love these online side hustles.
7. Start a Social Media Marketing Business
Our very own social media manager was actually someone who was enrolled inside Awesome Money Course. We noticed how great she was inside our private students-only Facebook group and we offered her a job with us. Now she manages all of our social media for Money Peach and she has also been offered social media jobs from other bloggers!
A great place to get started is visiting the Facebook Side Hustle Course by Bobby of Millennial Money Man. You can read how many of the students from the course are landing social media jobs for $1,000 – $2,000 month! Not a bad little side hustle, right?
Facebook Side Hustle
  8. Ebates (Now Rakuten)
Ebates is a company that has partnered with over 2,000 online companies to form an affiliate relationship with each of them. An affiliate relationship simply means Ebates and each online company have created a partnership where Ebates will refer you or I to buy something from them, and that company then sends Ebates a thank-you referral.
The good news: Ebates then splits the thank-you referral with you, and you earn Cash Back.
The Better News: You can Make Money by referring friends, family, or anyone else to join Ebates!
Ebates extends their referral program to any Ebates member who would like to share how to earn Cash Back while shopping online. Once you create an account with Ebates, you can invite your friends and family to join in on the Cash Back savings, and YOU will also receive a thank-you referral, aka make money.
BONUS $10 with Ebates Right Now
  9. Honey Browser Extension
Honey is a free tool that will search for online coupons and apply them to your online shopping cart to make sure you are saving the most money. Instead of searching for coupons one at-a-time and applying them individually, Honey does all of this for you in the matter of seconds. Not only will you save money, but you will also MAKE MONEY with their refer-a-friend program. For anyone you refer to the app, Honey will send you $5 as soon as they purchase something via the app up to $1,000.
Honey Browser Extension
  10. Inbox Dollars
Inbox Dollars is a rewards club that pays you in cash for completing a variety of online activities. This can include searching the internet, filling out surveys, printing off coupons, and shopping online. If you are already doing these things, you may as well get paid for it, right?
Inbox Dollars
  11. Fiverr
Fiverr is a platform where you can sell your products and services starting at $5 per gig. After you have a few $5 gigs under your belt, you can start increasing how much you charge. Here at Money Peach, we hire people from Fiverr all the time. Just recently, we found someone for a quick logo design and another to transcribe some videos we created.
Also, the Fiverr platform does take 20% from each gig. Therefore, if you do a $5 gig, you will take home $4 per gig. However, if you can complete 3-4 gigs in an hour, your hourly rate could start at $16 – $20 per hour!
Fiverr
  12. Make Money with PayPal
Already have a PayPal account?
We have put together a list of the side hustles that will pay you in PayPal gift cards which can then be deposited into your PayPal account – just like cash!
Where to make money with PayPal
  13. Amazon
Selling on Amazon is almost identical as selling on eBay in terms of fees and ease of use. However, sometimes items that don’t sell as well on eBay do better on Amazon and vice versa. Either way, it is a side hustle worth looking at if you can buy for cheap and resell for a higher price.
14. Amazon Affiliate Links
I know of a guy who started out as a handyman. He then took that idea as a handyman and started his own blog to teach people how to fix things themselves through blogging and video tutorial. At the end of every post or video, he would tell you what tool he used to get the job done and would provide a link directly to Amazon for you to purchase that product.
However, he also signed up for a free Amazon Affiliate Account. Every time someone clicks on his link and buys ANYTHING on Amazon, he gets a commission! Think about this: Amazon pays him for the tool he recommended and also for anything else they Add To Cart. This is why I love blogging and why I have a free tutorial to help you get started.
15. eBook Publishing
Make money by writing your own book and self publishing it on Amazon for free. There are different options available for how your can price your book and earn income from the sale of your book in the Amazon store. Questions about self publishing your own book? Check this out.
16. Etsy
Instead of having to open up your brick and mortar store, sell your creations on Etsy. Whether you make clothing, crafts, baby toys, or jewelry, you can open up your own store at Etsy. I have a friend selling her awesome clothing line on Etsy and it brings in a very nice income for the family. This is another great side hustle, but don’t expect instant results. You may need to be patient for this one.
17. Craigslist
We all know you can buy and sell stuff on Craigslist, but have you ever thought about offering a service you can provide. If providing a service isn’t your thing, you can scan Craigslist for great deals and then later resell items for a profit. This takes persistence and patience, but I have a friend who went from a $4k truck to a $24k in truck in 18 months by flipping cars from Craigslist.
There are also many other sites competing with Craigslist and you may have better exposure by posting on these sites like Craigslist.
18. User Testing
Don’t want to do an online survey, but still like to surf the web and earn some cash? Companies will pay you to try out their apps or visit their websites and give them feedback. Usertesting and UserFeel uses your feedback on apps and websites that aren’t as user-friendly and then pays your for it.
19. Become a Freelance Writer
If you are a good writer, consider searching online sites such as freelancer.com for writing jobs. Individuals or companies might need freelance writers for a number of reasons.
Individuals or companies might need a writer for their blog or website, or a company might need a writer for its instruction manuals, for instance.
Pro Tip: The best way to learn how to get freelance writing jobs is from someone who has been doing it for years. Holly Johnson generates over $100k per year freelance writing and she has a program to show you how to do it.
**Money Peach Readers: Use Coupon Code PEACH10 to Receive 10% Off at Checkout**
  Become Freelance Writer
An even better option is to learn from those who are already making 6-figures as freelance writers. Check out Episode 13 on the Money Peach Podcast where Holly and Greg Johnson share how they got started as freelance writers and soon turned their side hustle into a 6-figure income.
20. Zazzle
Make money on Zazzle as a designer by selling your artwork on different products or you can actually make and manufacture the products for sale. I have a friend who takes old dry wood and paints slogans on them. She needs to sell them on Zazzle; she could create a very quick and profitable side hustle.
21. eBay
You can have your own store up in only a few minutes at eBay. To start, you must have a seller account, must be verified through PayPal. You are even able to give a detailed description of your store with a catchy design to attract customers. I have a friend who will buy all of the unused bras at a last chance type of store and resell them for a profit at her eBay store. Last I heard, she was doing $1,000/month in her first couple of months.
22. Do Transcription Work or Data Entry Work
Companies hire transcriptionists for a number of reasons. A doctor’s office might need a medical transcriptionist to record information about a patient’s appointment, or law enforcement agencies might need transcription services for court cases or suspect interviews.
Data entry work, which is a bit easier than transcription work, is also available from companies who hire people to work from home. Simply google “transcription work” or “data entry jobs” for a list of companies currently hiring work-from-home reps.
23. Sell Your Photos Online
Do you take amazing photos? You can actually sell your photos online at places like iStockPhoto, Shutterstock, Fotolia, and Bigstockphoto. Photos can be sold over and over again, allowing you to earn a residual income!
24. Start a Web Design Business
If you’re knowledgeable about web design, you could make money creating or improving on websites for individuals or businesses.
Advertise on Craigslist or approach businesses directly if they have a website that needs improvement.
There really is no shortage of ways to make extra money if you’re willing to get creative and do some research. Which financial goals will you use the extra cash you earn to accomplish?

Driving Hustles
If you have a car, you may as well use it to help you side hustle, right? Here’s our favorite driving side hustles.
25. Uber/Lyft Driver-Partner
If you are unfamiliar with Uber or Lyft, then make sure you still have a pulse and you are breathing air.
To get started, some minimum requirements you need are a car, a smartphone, and the Uber or Lyft app. You become available to drive as soon as you complete the activation process and then you are ready to start earning money. Fares are paid out weekly or up to 5X a day when you register for Instant Pay with your debit card!
Today, there are more riders on the road than ever! This is one of my absolute favorite ways to start generating money quickly.
Drive with Uber
Drive with Lyft
26. Uber Eats
Uber Eats
27. Be a Paid Designated Driver
Pretty self-explanatory.
28. Drive People to the Airport
Some airports don’t allow Uber or Lyft to drop people off or pick them up, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still offer up airport rides on your own. Post an ad to all of your friends on social media that you are now their preferred method of getting to the airport. I used to do this when I first got my license and it paid very well 🙂
OR JUST DRIVE WITH UBER OR LYFT (See Number 24 Above)
Extremely Passive Hustles
If you like passive income, then you may want to review the top 40 passive income ideas . But to get you started, here are our favorite side hustles that are also extremely passive.
29. Rent Out Your Garage or Driveway
You’ve likely heard of AirBnB, where you can rent out rooms in your house – or your whole house – to travelers wanting to avoid the impersonal feel and high cost of hotel rooms.
Maybe you can’t or don’t want to rent out rooms in your house, but you might have space in your garage to rent out. Sites such as Air Garage help people rent out their garage spaces and driveway spaces.
People might want to rent out your garage or driveway space because they work close to where you live and want cheaper and safer parking options.
Or they might want to rent out your parking space because there’s an event near you, such as a state fair or sporting event.
Depending on where you live you could easily earn $50 or more a month for parking spots in your garage or driveway.
Check out this Money Peach podcast with AirGarage CEO Jonathan Barkl for more info.
30. Become a Voiceover Artist
You know those people who talk on radio and TV commercials but you never see their faces? They’re called voiceover artists, and they get paid good money to do what they do.
Sites like Backstage list available voiceover jobs, and Carrie Olsen, professional voiceover artist, has a great web site that can help you learn how to become a voiceover artist.
Check out this Money Peach Podcast with Voice Over Star Carrie Olsen for more info.
31. Rent out your Car
Did you know your car sits idle 93% of the time? If you’re not going to need your car for the next couple of days/weeks/months, you may as well let it earn you some cash. You can list your car through RelayRides and have your personal car rented out tomorrow.
32. Rent out a Room full-time
Own a home and need extra cash each month? Rent out a room in your house to help cover the mortgage and free up some of your cash. I have a single friend who has a $1,200 mortgage and he consistently earns $2,000+ every month by renting out room(s) in his house via Airbnb. Fun fact – he applies the extra cash towards his mortgage each month!
Airbnb
  Some Skill Required Hustles
So, not all side hustles are for everyone. In fact, these ones below do require some skill to make money. But, the more skill you have, the more money you will make!
33. Become an Online Coach
If you have an idea and can help people, pay attention. Whether it is motivating someone, helping them pass a class, or teaching them how to build a website, this can all be done online. Setup you’re pricing, terms, and accept payment through something as simple as PayPal and you are on your way. I recommend using Skype or Google Hangouts since it is 100% free. Help someone and get paid – genius.
34. Create an Online Course
Is there something you are good at and can teach to others? I have a friend who will teach you how to clean pools over his site, Swim University. Check out Udemy for ideas on your next online course and see how much people are paying for someone like you to teach them.
One of the greatest accomplishments I have had in my business is helping others reach financial freedom. We have had over 500 students graduate Awesome Money Course and completely turn their money situation around!
If you are tired of living the paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle and would like to save more, pay off debt, and reach true financial freedom, then Awesome Money Course was made for you.
I am so confident you will absolutely love the program that I have 100% money-back guarantee…meaning you could download the entire course, keep it, and ask for a refund.
I hope no one would do that, but I will also take that risk if it results in you learning how to manage money, pay off debt, save, and build a wealthy future.
However, if you would like to try a little bit of our program out, we do have a 100% free mini-course called the Cash Flow Formula which will show you the step-by-step to building a monthly cash-flow plan with many of our favorite money-hacks to save more and pay off debt quicker!
Start Cash Flow Formula (FREE)
  35. Spray Tanning
A good friend of mine (Jessica) has become the queen of spray tanning in our area. In fact, she is making $900 per week cash spray tanning both the ladies and the men and it’s all through word-of-mouth! You can check her out at JC Glows on Facebook to see how she set up her side hustle.
I asked her how she got started and she said this:
She started with this exact tanning kit
She uses this tanning tent
She taught herself how watching YouTube
36. Become a Cover Letter/Resume’ Writer
Professionals of all kinds pay ridiculous amounts of money for professionally written resumes. I know one guy who paid a professional resume’ writer $5,000.
If you have a knack for writing compelling and attention-grabbing resumes, consider offering your services on sites such as freelancer.com or Craigslist.
37. Develop an App
If you’ve got a great idea for an app that will make people’s lives easier or more exciting, this could be a great side hustle for you.
Check out this post on learnappmaking.com for more information on how to develop and market an app for some extra income.
38. Catering
If you love cooking, serving food, and entertaining at your own home, then get paid to do it for someone else. This can be fun and can often go from side hustle to full-time if you’re really good at it!
39. Computer Repair
If you love “playing” computers, then help someone repair theirs and get paid for it. Note: You must know a little bit about computers 🙂
40. Computer Training
How many Baby Boomers (or anyone for that matter) do you know who are still having trouble checking their email. If you were able to navigate to this web page, then you probably have the skills to teach extremely basic computer skills to an extreme beginner.
41. Guitar Gigs
A friend of mine finds guitar gigs online, on Facebook, and in the paper all the time. He shows up, plays for a few hours, and leaves with cash in hand. Note: you must be good at playing the guitar.
42. Guitar Lessons
If you are handy on the 6 string and can show someone else, teach them. Better yet, teach the world online how to play guitar.
43. Handyman Work
Some people are handy and others are not. Let your neighbors know that you are available to hang a ceiling fan, patch a hole in the drywall, fix an irrigation leak, or paint a fence. All can be done for them ASAP for a small fee 🙂
I love TaskRabbit. Whether I need a doggy door installed, someone to clean my house this weekend, or even mount a TV, I can go on TaskRabbit to find someone in an instant. YOU could be that person I find next on TaskRabbit for hire!
44. Lifeguard
Become a lifeguard and earn $16/hr – $20/hr part-time. Not only do you make some extra cash, but you are guaranteed to get a little tan as well.
45. Mobile Oil Change
If you don’t mind getting underneath the car and pulling the drain plug for people, then this could be your next side hustle. People are busy, and may want to pay you to change their oil while they are at work. Note: Wal-Mart always has the cheapest oil.
46. Network Marketing
Network marketing (sometimes referred to as multi-level-marketing) can sometimes have a bad connotation if you have ever been scammed in the past. However, there are very reputable companies out there that you can start working for today with very little buy-in or overhead. A member of our family started off her network marketing business as a side hustle and has turned it into a part-time gig with full-time income. Warning: if you are told it doesn’t require any actual work – run away!
47. Personal Training
Someone out there wants to get into better shape, and they are willing to pay you to help them. If you love fitness, this would be a perfect side hustle for you.
48. Tutoring
Take your education and use it to make money on the side. Tutor students and get paid handsomely.
Live in the U.S. or U.K. and hold a bachelor’s degree? You can earn up to $20/hr plus bonuses to teach kids English online from the comfort of home. Learn more here.
49. Teach Music Lessons
From singing to playing piano or any other number of instruments, parents everywhere are seeking music lessons for their kids.
If you have a gift for a musical skills, consider teaching that skill to local kids. You might be able to find jobs by looking on Craigslist or by seeking out local public school or homeschooling groups to connect with parents who have school-aged children.
50. Start a Baking Business
Do you have a gift for baking goodies such as cake, muffins or cookies? Why not use that gift to make yourself some extra cash?
Events such as birthday parties, weddings, office parties and meetings, retirement parties and more often have baked treats as a part of their celebration.
Advertise your culinary skills on Craigslist and with local event booking venues for your bakery services.
Be sure to check with state officials on what the rules are for serving and selling food in your area first.
51. Become a Sports Umpire
Are you knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of certain sports? Do you like working with kids? Recreation associations often pay good money for organized sports umpires for football, baseball, and more.
In our area, umpires earn about $30 an hour. Check with local sporting organizations for job opening details.
Physical Labor Hustles
If you don’t putting in a little sweat equity, you can do very well side hustling with some physical labor attached to it. I did #50 when I was getting out of debt and generated over $1,000 each month.
52. Clean Pools
This requires very little overhead and is simple to do. Go to Google Earth and look up which homes in your neighborhood have a pool, and offer to start today. I actually did this to get out of debt and it worked out great!
53. House Cleaning
People are busy and don’t have time to clean their homes. This is where you come in 🙂 Search your area in Craigslist to get an idea for pricing your own services.
54. Mowing Lawns
If you don’t have the funds to purchase all the equipment, then offer to your mow lawns with their equipment. I actually did this in grade school because I wasn’t old enough to drive. I just showed up, grabbed their lawnmower, and was paid.
55. Painting Gates
Gates fade and someone needs to repaint them. A kid in the neighborhood took pics of faded gates and pretty gates and posted them on the mailbox with his number and price. (I think one of the faded gate pics he took was my gate also).
56. Painting Services
Remember that movie American Pie 2 where they spend the summer in a lake house and do some side painting. No one likes painting their houses or walls, so why not help them out for a little side cash? Start out small by offering to paint a bedroom or two, and work your way up from there. Pricing rule: $1 per square ft of painting.
57. Shoveling Snow
No one likes shoveling snow and this is why you will be paid for it.
58. Wash Cars
If you can wash a car, then you can make money. People are busy and don’t have time to even take their cars to the wash anymore…this is where you come in.
59. Wash Windows
I recently paid a guy to wash my windows because he advertised $4/window. He spent about 1 hour washing a total of 20 windows and walked away with $80 cash. His entire setup was a bucket and a squeegee. Maybe I should wash my own windows and my neighbor’s windows for an affordable price of only $4 a window.
Unique Hustles
If you are unique, then you deserve some unique side hustles. Some of these are extremely cool, but a few of them…well I am still waiting for you to try.
60. Rent out Your Baby Gear
Think of it as the Airbnb of Baby Gear.
Have you ever traveled with kids and realized what a pain-in-the-butt it is to take the stroller, hi-chair, pack-n-play, and everything else that babies need? Think about dragging all of that through the airport, onto the train, or inside the Uber?
BabyQuip offers a simple solution. They provide families with a wide assortment of clean, quality baby equipment—everything they need to keep their little ones sleeping well at night and happily engaged during the day.
And guess who makes 80% commission (plus tips) renting their baby gear out?
You, the side hustler!
BabyQuip
61. Sell Your Hair Online
Thinking about a new hair style? You may want to. People are paying up to $1,000 for quality hair if you can remember to wash it more than once a month J Check out what your hair is worth at Hairsellon.
Hairsellon
62. Paint Street Numbers
A father and son rang my doorbell and pointed out to me my street numbers were faded. “For only $10, they would repaint my street numbers so my house would look better”. I paid it and it took them 37 seconds. They did 6 houses on my street alone. This is a great little side hustle.
63. Sell Drinks
where it’s hot (and where it’s cold)
I live in Phoenix where it will hover at 116°F during the summer. During the hottest weeks, there is a guy who sells snow cones and water for a premium.
I asked him how business was recently – he smiled and said “Business is gooooooood”. Buy a case of water at Costco for $0.12 a bottle and resell them for $2 wherever it is HOT. Who wouldn’t pay $2 for ice-cold water during the dog days of summer?
64. TaskRabbit
Become a task rabbit and get paid. People in your neighborhood are looking to pay you to put together furniture from Ikea, do their grocery shopping, install a ceiling fan, be a bartender at their party, or mount their TV to the wall.
65. Start a Home Staging Business
Somebody is always selling a home, and homes sell faster and for more money when they are “staged”.
As a home stager you can tailor your business to meet a variety of client needs. Creating relationships with local realtors is one way to help you find home staging clients.
66. Be a Work-From-Home Customer Service Rep
There are many legit companies that offer to hire customer service representatives who can from home. One of the more popular work-from-home companies is U-Haul, the well-known moving company.
67. Start an Estate Sale Service Business
An estate sale business buys a large majority of a client’s belongings, including furniture, vehicles and more, at a group rate and sells the stuff individually for profit.
This is a business that will take some work as you get to know the ropes but can be very lucrative in the long run.
68. Start a Vending Machine Business
Many companies want vending machines installed at their businesses for the convenience of employees and clients alike.
Although this type of side hustle would involve some costly initial cash, you may be able to make it up quickly if you install the machines in thriving businesses that service large numbers of people.
69. Pick Up Trash in Parking Lots
Brian Winch came on the podcast to share how he picks up trash around parking lots and now earns a 6-figure income by doing so. Although it may not be glorious work, it does pay well and it’s extremely affordable to get started. Before you get started, check out the Clean Lots tutorial here.
You’ve Got to be Kidding Me Hustles
Before you read on, just remember the name of these side hustles are you’ve-go-to-be-kidding-me side hustles. Some of them will actually shock you ?.
70. Be a Sperm Donor
This is straight out of the movie Road Trip when they need gas money. However, you can make substantial money donating sperm, with some places offering up $1,000/month to healthy men. Be aware, if you’re not a true thoroughbred, you won’t be paid as much!
71. Be a Plasma Donor
Since there is no way to synthetically make plasma, you will be compensated for your donation. Rates vary from state to state, but you can make on average $200/month for only a few hours of your time….and blood.
We have a full list of where you can earn $400 per month donating plasma here.
72. Become a Cuddler
Ah yes, cuddling. This is an actual real job and I recently saw it featured in a news segment. People are paying for up to 3 hours of platonic hugging (and they pay a lot). Job requirements: enjoy hugging strangers.
73. Pick up Dog Poop
Who likes picking up dog poop? Nobody. This is why you can get paid for it.
youtube
74. Rent-a-Friend
You can sign up for free at Rentafriend to be someone else friend both part-time and full-time with pay between $20/hr – $50/hr. Yes, this sounds very strange from the outside looking in, but a lot of times you are helping someone get acquainted in a new town, meet a new group of friends, or simply have a cup of coffee with. Most importantly – friendship is always platonic (no touching).
Easy Peasy Hustles
These are some of the classic side hustles that we call the easy peasy ones. If you are looking for simple, but yet effective, these are the side hustles for you.
75. Babysitting
If you like kids and don’t go out on the weekends, become a babysitter. Advertise to all of your friends (and Facebook Friends) that you will watch their kids so they can have a date night. New to the area? Then get connected with Care.com to become a certified/recommended babysitter in your area.
76. Dog Walking
Create this ad: “Love your dog but simply don’t have time to walk them? Let me help you!” There will always be someone willing to pay to keep their doggy happy, and this person is you.
77. Gig Walking
Download the free App and then find “gigs” in your neighborhood that companies are willing to pay you for. Can you check out the price of milk in a certain store for $6 or snap a pic of a storefront for $5 on the way to work? Note: You will start off with the crappier jobs in the beginning, but prove yourself and you will start getting offered the higher-paying jobs soon enough.
78. Golf Course
If you love being around the golf course (or don’t mind a few drunk old men) you can make pretty good money part-time by collecting balls off the range, cleaning golf carts, or serving cold beers at the tee box.
79. House-sitting
Who doesn’t want to get paid for simply living in someone else’s house for a few day days? This is simple and people will pay you for it. You can think of it as a mini staycation too!
80. Mystery Shopper
Get paid $10 – $30 on average to be a mystery shopper. However, beware because there are a lot of scams out there. I recommend checking out Marketforce, Best Mark, and Intelli-101 before you head anywhere else.
81. Pet Grooming
There are people out there that simply will not shave their dog and will pay you for it. Create a Facebook Page called “iShaveDogs” and let all your friends know! Someone will hire you.
82. Pet Sitting
If you truly love animals, then why not get paid to hang out with someone else’s dog or cat for the weekend? You can become a pet sitter at Care.com or specialize in only watching over someone’s pooch at Rover.
83. RedBox
You love renting movies for only $1.75, but did you know you can get paid to stock DVDs into the kiosks and make sure they are working properly? Check out Redbox Jobs and also see these 12 free Redbox Codes for free moves and games.
84. Sell ScrapMetal
Post in your social media or offer in the newspaper that you will come and take any scrap metal away for people. Not only could you make a few extra bucks for hauling away metal, but then you could sell it at a scrap yard. Double whammy!
85. Tax Prep
When I was in college, TurboTax hit the Internet. I created an ad on a bulletin board and offered Tax Prep for those who make less than $100k/year so I could use the free 1040EZ software. My overhead was $0 and I charged $20 to punch the numbers from the W-2 into TurboTax. Another great option is to try H&R Block and see which one you like the best. We also have a full review of H&R Block here.
TurboTax
86. Sign Spinner
Do you ever see those people standing on the corner, wearing headphones, oblivious to the entire world around them, and flipping signs in the air? They are making money and you can too. What about sign holder? Well, maybe you’re not the spinning type…
87. Sign Holder
Maybe you’re just not the spinning type 🙂

Final Takeaway
As you can see, we live in a time when anyone who wants to make a little (or a lot) of money can. Your local area is no longer the only area to make money. The entire world is at your fingertips through the use of many of the options mentioned in this post.
What is one skill you have that others could learn from? Think about what’s the one thing you actually love doing that people would want to pay you for? How can you take your side hustle idea and turn it into monthly income?
3…2…1… it’s go time my friends!

26. Uber Eats
Uber Eats

Check out this Money Peach Podcast with Voice Over Star Carrie Olsen for more info.

If you have an idea and can help people, pay attention. Whether it is motivating someone, helping them pass a class, or teaching them how to build a website, this can all be done online. She uses this tanning tent
She taught herself how watching YouTube
36. Become a Cover Letter/Resume’ Writer

Check out this post on learnappmaking.com for more information on how to develop and market an app for some extra income.

42. Guitar Lessons
If you are handy on the 6 string and can show someone else, teach them. Better yet, teach the world online how to play guitar.

People are busy and don’t have time to clean their homes. This is where you come in 🙂 Search your area in Craigslist to get an idea for pricing your own services.
54. Mowing Lawns

56. Painting Services
Remember that movie American Pie 2 where they spend the summer in a lake house and do some side painting. No one likes painting their houses or walls, so why not help them out for a little side cash? I recently paid a guy to wash my windows because he advertised $4/window. He spent about 1 hour washing a total of 20 windows and walked away with $80 cash.

There are many legit companies that offer to hire customer service representatives who can from home. One of the more popular work-from-home companies is U-Haul, the well-known moving company.

71. Be a Plasma Donor
Since there is no way to synthetically make plasma, you will be compensated for your donation. Rates vary from state to state, but you can make on average $200/month for only a few hours of your time….and blood.
We have a full list of where you can earn $400 per month donating plasma here.

youtube
75. Babysitting

Note: You will start off with the crappier jobs in the beginning, but prove yourself and you will start getting offered the higher-paying jobs soon enough.

TurboTax

Rolling Stats for TTRPG. My Grief and My Found Solution
I’m going to be controversial for a moment here. And I’m going to release a little bit of pent of frustration and trauma here as well. Cleanse the spirit, I suppose.
This link may not be anything new to certain readers, but when I saw Justisaur’s 27-25-23 ability score generation, I knew I finally had an answer to all my issues. https://sites.google.com/site/justisaursdd/tar-pit-dugout/justisaurs27-25-23abilityscoregeneration
You roll three times using whatever stat generation method you prefer (3d6, 4d6, 4d6 drop the lowest, etc). Then in order, you subtract the first number from 27, the second from 25, and the third from 23. If any of the numbers are higher than 18, you re-scale them 1 to 1 so that one is 18.
For example, say you rolled a 5 on the first roll using 3d6. Subtracting that from 27 gives you 22. That’s higher than 18 by four points. Re-scale 1 to 1 and the 5 becomes a 9 and the 22 is now 18. You continue this for the second roll with 25 and the third roll with 23. You then add +2 to one number that is 16 or less. So if your numbers ended up being 9, 18, 15, 10, 17, 6 you could put the +2 to four of the numbers. Maybe that 6 could be a 8 instead. No matter what, your total is never less than 77 points. Considering standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8) is 72 points that’s pretty good. There are a couple of variants in the link too. Lower points for different systems and editions (eg. 3d6 systems suggest 25-23-21 instead), and that’s fine. It’s tailored that way for a reason.
I’ll hide some of this for those that don’t care about my gaming past and my issues with rolling stats over point buy, not that I don’t understand people’s gripes about that. I’ve been there too.
I’m tired of blogs who go on and on about “the right way” to build RPG characters. This has gotten even worse since 5e has become a main staple of the gaming community. Even Stephen Colbert has called out the new rules of “4d6 drop the lowest” vs “3d6 in a row” as (paraphrased) ‘rules for babies’. People go on about how rolling stats is what “real gamers do”. That it worked back in the day, and it works now, because you’re not too good to roll stats, and then use slurs of all kinds to put down today’s players who like point buy or prefer not to play games with unoptimized stats. There’s nothing wrong with that. Granted, I’ve done my share of games where I too am tired of seeing the variant human fighter or barbarian Str 20, Dex 16, Con 16, Int 7, Wis 7, Cha 7, and that’s if you allow 20 point buy in Pathfinder. At least in D&D numbers start at 8 and you can’t go any lower. I know. It sucks to see a group built with similar numbers. But that’s easy to get rid of. Just make a house rule that stops people from dumping stats. “Oh, but having low stats is the very primordial fabric of D&D. You don’t want a perfect character. Flaws are fun.” Then what’s the difference between rolling those numbers and getting them organically? Because they purposely min-maxed? Oh, no. Call the Feds. No matter what, people are going to optimize. I have personally seen people train themselves to roll 3d6 and 4d6 so that they almost always roll 18′s. Yet that’s perfectly fine. Nothing’s really said about that at all. But min-maxing stats is where people draw the line. Okay, a few DMs/GMs will go “No, no, you actually roll those dice.” One way or another people will optimize for their own benefit. That will never stop. But what’s worse is the outcome. I personally hate stat rolling because of bombastic trauma I received for having such poor numbers. When you’re in a group that constantly ridicules you because you once again rolled the stats of “Bob the Slow” and when everyone else is Hercules and Thor, the game isn’t fun to play. But don’t you dare voice your opinion because you’re called weak, made fun of more for being a child, etc, etc, etc. That you should thank your lucky stars because you were “blessed” with so many RP stats. Just look at those 7′s. Those are lucky 7′s. So much RP potential compared to those five 18′s everyone else has. Meanwhile everyone, including the DM/GM is mocking you. And yes, I understand that not all groups are like that, but I’ve talked with other people who’ve been there. Maybe not to the same degree, but it was still bad. Also, a lot of groups won’t force you to play characters that don’t have an average modifier of >1, but there are others that make you play it as rolled and you just have to hope for a quick death.
But why don’t you just leave the group then? In my case, I did. More than one group too. Then I came to my current group and it does point buy. It was great. But as other people have mentioned when I talk about that group, it’s apparently equivalent to an abusive relationship that I need to leave. So there’s that, I guess.
I’ve seen posts from professional players, publishers, and writers who all hate point buy, and will say right off the hop that they will not allow anyone to do point buy and then go on a rant about how much they hate it, and why. Usually for the reasons I said above which are easily counteracted. Then when I bring up my arguments I get the same counter argument of “just leave” or “play online”. Yeah, no. It’s not that easy. I’ve done the online thing. It usually peters out after a couple of months, at the most. My computer’s too old to properly run Roll20, and I live in a small city with a very limited number of gamers. I had actually given up gaming for years because it was that hard to find groups, or to care about gaming.
But, this post is not all about being a Debby Downer and putting down rolling stats and saying point buy is better, because sometimes point buy isn’t. It’s what most pre-written modules accommodate for, and that’s fantastic. No, I’ve come to learn of a wonderful new way of rolling stats, and the only people I’ve come to find who hate it are those who want to min-max as heavy as possible with point buy, or have learned to “fake roll” their solid 17-18 stat scores. This makes it even better in my mind.
This was shown to me by another person who was tired of people hating on point buy unnecessarily and even called out older gamers for trying to gatekeep the younger generation. No surprise that person was attacked relentlessly, but some people accepted the find and would consider using it for those who would prefer point buy because they have a major fear of rolling terribly and being their own “Bob the Slow” who might be openly ridiculed by their group.
But Justisaur’s way of doing things? That’s huge to someone like me who’s rolled poorly in the past, and still terrible with numerous d6. Considering I had rolled three 7′s with my one character, I’d have two 18s and a 16, and one of those 7s would have become a 9. And that’s not even including the +2 that I can add. That would have made all the difference in the world back then.
I don’t usually agree with most GMs out there. I don’t even agree with how Matt Mercer does his characters (70 points for stats minimum instead of 72). But more often than not it’s because they’re old school and despite the change of editions they won’t adjust to the changes and feel their way still works. Which, for rolling, if you ALSO add in that your character has the minimum point buy that the system is made for (3.5e 28 pts starting at 8; PF 15 pts starting at 10; 5e 27 pts starting at 8) then fine. Monsters straight out of their monster manual/bestiary, especially in Pathfinder and 5e, are designed for 4 players with that point buy equivalent.
Side Rant: This brings me to another issue. Rolling stats and having 3-4 players with god stats compared to other players, means that you have to adjust combat encounters for the god tier characters, making it way more difficult for the average or low tier players. But that’s basically it. /rant
So, I feel a little better writing all of this, and I very much endorse Justisaur’s way to roll up stats. No one’s god tier, everyone has 77 points, and you still have the “role play” stats that you’re supposed to be proud of.
One final thing to say about this. The fact that you get 77 points is something a little nostalgic for me, and it’s kind of why I’d consider adding an additional +2 to one of the stats (probably to any number less than 10). In the early 2000′s, our local convention used to do 3.5e D&D tournaments with home made characters. They were called Monte Halls. Any class and race from the Player’s Handbook, and you were a specific level based on the scenario, but you always had 80 points to put in your stats with no number being higher than 18. I found this kind of reminiscent of that.

PLL Questions
@welcometorosewood posted this and I would like to answer what I can. I hope this helps. I don’t mean this to be sarcastic I just really wanted to help answer where I could:
 Plot Holes/unanswered questions:
1. What was the point of the puzzle pieces of the puzzle image meant nothing? The image wasn't necessarily important it was just the code for the augmented reality. Alex just wanted to make it a game to torture the liars.

2. How was that not related to Archer or Bethany Young’s drawings? See answer to question 1

3. Speaking of which, how is Bethany not more relevant to this? Because her degrees of separation got bigger meaning Alex had no attachment to her, CeCe hated her and Mona just knew she was involved. She was a mean girl with a big mouth who got in the way.

4. If Bethany isn’t relevant then what does this picture that Marlene posted from the finale mean? Is she just a bad speller? I'm not sure what you are referring to here so unfortunately I can't answer very sorry!
5. Why impregnate Ali with Emily’s eggs? What was the point of that? It's one of the worse ways of violating somebody. It took the decision to get pregnant out of Alison's hands and forced Emily to watch her friend/girlfriend go through this while thinking it wouldn't have happened if she hadn't donated

6. Why was a Melissa mask necessary? Here I just believe it was in case any of the girls caught Mona she could run off.

7. What was the point of holding Ezra captive? Aria getting married breaks up the group. So Ezra running away keeps them all together. Plus he started figuring out Alex wasn't Spencer and if he told Aria, Alex's plan was ruined

8. Why did A.D. favor Aria so much and pull her to the dark side? Aria asked to go to the dark side. This gave Alex so much control over her.

9. Also Alex climbed in bed next to Aria and said she would love her the most. Why did she have such a soft spot for Aria? Probably because she thought they had a bond once Aria joined the dark side

10. If Wren broke out Mona from Welby, then when was he killed? Didn’t we just see him at the airport? Mona was put in Welby after the events of 7x19 so Alex killed him sometime during the year jump for 7x19 to 7x20
.
11.Why did Alex kill him? He wasn't being agreeable with the plan any more. So he wasn't worth keeping around.

12. Was Melissa ever even in this episode or was that Mona? If not, where is she? In the very beginning when she asks Spencer to move out of the barn that's Melissa the Melissa in the hood is Mona

13. What the point of this picture of a burned person? I liked the fan theory better than the actual ending in which Bethany was burned during the Jenna Thing and that gave her more motive. Again I don't know what you are referring to I'm sorry!
14. What was the purpose of Ali and Bethany being pen pals? Ali saw it as leverage over her mother. Bethany saw it as leverage over them. They were both emotional.

15. What purpose did Sara Harvey serve and why make her both Red Coat and Black Widow? She is a puppet. Because it's confusing and makes it hard to figure out who is hurting you.

16. What was the point of Bethany’s drawings? It shows her twisted mindset

17. What was the relevance of the Carissimi group again? Wasn’t Jason involved somehow? No Jason wasn't involved. The Carissimi group was basically a way for Jessica to get money from her accounts to CeCe. It's like the cover companies crime gangs will make money hard to track

18. And how did Jenna and Noel become involved? They decided that the girls deserved to be punished and got in too deep they were disposable to Alex. Jenna wanted to see so she help
ed Alex for the money did her job, got the money didn’t see and that was it.
19. Why were Alex and Mary Drake both at the blind school in 7x10 but they were playing for opposing sides? Who shot Spencer?
Alex shot Spencer. They were playing two different games.
20. At what point did Wren and Melissa break up and he met Alex? The timeline seems off.
Wren and Melissa broke up sometime around CeCe revealing that she was A.
21. What was the point of Lucas’ comic book? Why was this never mentioned again? It’s something they find it shows CeCe’s mindset. It starts the development that maybe CeCe couldn’t be cured. The comic itself didn’t matter just the mindset CeCe was in

22. What was Ian filming? Who was beach hottie? What was the point of NAT club?
Which time? I’m not sure which video you are referring to. Beach hottie was Wilden. Marlene mentioned in an interview recently that the NAT club was simply boys who decided to film people without them knowing as a power trip. They grew out of it but when the videos started getting ouot they started getting into trouble i.e. Garrett
23. Why did Jessica DiLaurentis tell Bethany to call her aunt?
Honestly who know Jessica was super sketchy she may have just been trying to get Bethany to trust her.
24. Why would CeCe dress as Charles in the dollhouse if she’s transgender now? To confuse the girls. They were so sure it was a boy so she played along so she still got her reveal.

25. How did Cece and Sara Harvey meet?
It’s never specifically said. I’m assuming that just sometime between Mona losing the game that she met Sara.
26. Who killed Sara Harvey? Noel? Yes Noel killed her it was revealed in 7x12

27. What’s the significance of all the pie references? And pretty eyes?
The diner was famous for its pie. It’s just something to tell Mona where to meet without giving it away completely. I don’t know what you are refering to with pretty eyes specifically.
28. In a flashback a few seasons ago, Ali comes into Spencer’s house with a bloodied lip and tries to hide it. Who did that to her? In the same interview where she talked about NAT, Marlene mentioned that it was the college students Ali would hang out with. It was to show Ali isn’t as grown up as she thinks

29. What was the purpose of Sydney? How did she and Alex meet?
Through Jenna, She was just a puppet.
30. Why were so many people wearing yellow tops that night?
Bethany trying to be Ali Cece also being Ali and and Ali.
31. Who did Spencer hear scream back in the pilot episode?
Ali when Garrett swung at her with a hockey stick i think but dont forget Spencer is drugged out of her mind .
32. Why is the number 214 constantly brought up? It was several hotel numbers, it was the locker number that Aria used, it’s been seen several times over the course of all the seasons.
Honestly I didn’t even notice that! (But I watched Bones for years and didn’t notice 445 until the end either). Sorry!
33. How did Alex create this board game? How was she everywhere at once? She very smart apparently or she had help

34. Why doesn’t she have more motive against Mary Drake who sold her when she was a baby? She wants a family and Mary is family.

35. Back a few seasons ago, there was a scene where they police had suspects written on a chalkboard. Why was “Dr” Wren in quotations? Is he really a doctor?
They may have been looking into if he really was a doctor, but as far as we have been told he is in fact a doctor.
36. Why did Bethany have Melissa’s riding helmet?
 Jessica gave it to her.
37. Why did Eddie Lamb recognize Aria in Radley?

38. Was Spaleb real or was that Alex?
No that was Spencer. Unfortunately (sorry I thought Spaleb was weird)
39. Did Alex kill Yvonne?
Technically yes since she messed with Toby’s truck and ran them off the road.
40. Who built the dollhouse?
 Charlotte
41. Why was Noel helping with the dollhouse? Because he believed the girls should be punished

42. What was the point of all the Alison masks? Masks are creepy. I really think thats what they were banking on.

43. What did Maya know? She knew Ali was alive

44. What is the exact timeline of the night Ali “died”?
Alison stoleIan’s NAT videos as leverage after he dumped her at Hilton Head. She came home from where she had been hooking up with Ian after Melissa showed up with NAT videos in tow. The girls separate with plans to meet that night. Ali goes to visit Jenna in the hospital. Ali goes to Emily and gives her the snowglobe with the key to the storage locker. The girls meet for the sleepover. Ali drugs them and goes to meet Toby who thanks her for not releasing the video of him and Jenna. Then Ali visits Ezra tells him he can’t get in trouble because they didn’t have sex and Ezra breaks up with her. Then Ali meets up with Ian. Then Jenna, Garrett and Ian break into Alison’s room for the NAT videos. Jenna and Garrett leave and run into Ali in the yard and Garrett “hits” her with the hockey stick. Then Ali meets Spencer and realizes she is on speed (ADD meds). Then she meets Mr. Montgomery and tries to blackmail him. Then she meets CeCe. Then she gets knocked out and buried, then saved by Grunwald. Then Melissa kills Bethany and buries her where Ali was. Finally Ali tells Mona how not to be loser Mona before running off. Whew! Busy night!
45. What was the relevance of Melissa’s suitcase handle if that wasn’t a murder weapon? A misleading “clue”

46. What was the point of Garrett?
Part of the whole Ali/CeCe mess
47. Who did Noel push down the stairs at that party and why? At UPenn? if you mean that they never explain why but Noel is like a sociopath so who knows.

48. Who put the blood in Spencer’s bag during her interview at Oxford? CeCe

49. Why were Shana and Jenna afraid of Melissa?
 I’m honestly not sure
50. Who sent Toby the text about his mom?
 CeCe
51. Who drove a car into Emily’s house? CeCe

52. Why was Wren seen coloring a picture of a woman in a red coat?
It was just a clue that he was part of this whole mess
53. Why would Elliot hold such a grudge against Ali if he knew all along Ali didn’t kill CeCe and that she was trying to help her?
Because he spent however long hearing what a monster Ali was from CeCe he wanted to punish her
54. Also, doesn’t my theory that Elliot is really Wren make more sense since he stole someone’s identity any way?
I haven’t read the theory you are referring to so I don’t know
55. Did Elliot and Wren know each other before meeting Charlotte and Alex? If they did it isn’t mentioned

56. What happened to Marco Fury?
I hope he left the police mess that is Rosewood.
57. What was the significance of the apple farm where Charles supposedly had a connection to Andrew?

58. Who was Leslie Stone? What was her purpose and why did she have multiple pairs of glasses?

59. Who knows about Twincer? Do Peter and Veronica know? Does Melissa know?
From the beginning no. I assumed Spencer told them after.
60. How did Jenna regain her vision and then lose it again? Sometimes surgerys like that fail. They work and then over time fade. A lot of surgeries to restore sight right now are experimental and just dont work out

61. Why was Spencer shot if Alex didn’t intend to kill her? I’m not sure.

62. How did they catch Aria on that New Hampshire traffic cam?
 I bet a hacking job from A.D.
63. What did Melissa whisper to Peter when they were being questioned at the police station? We never find out

64. Did we ever find out why Bethany killed Toby’s mom? Nope

65. Who was Varjack? CeCe

66. What was with all the literary references? They just enjoyed them the different ways to play with it.

67. When did Charlotte visit an Amish farm with Archer when she was in Radley? What was the timeline of when she got out of Radley? It’s chaotic and confusing and there isn’t a completely mapped out timeline like with Ali’s disappearance.

68. What happened to the Alison bracelet? Wasn’t Bethany wearing it when she died? Why?
 She may have stole it.
69. Why exactly was Pastor Ted brought back to be Charlotte’s dad? That’s something only the writer can answer.

70. Was the cop in the finale really Mona’s boyfriend in Paris and that’s why she was able to keep them as dolls? I believe so but I have to watch again to really see.

71. Also how was Toby’s mom in the flashback with him and Ali when they were teenagers if she was killed when Charlotte was a kid and Charlotte is older than Toby? PLOT HOLE
. You hit it on the head that was a plot hole.
73. What was Paige’s role in this?
She got sucked in as Ali’s victim and Emily’s gf
74. What’s with all the piano playing?

75. How were the Emison twins blue eyed and blonde hair when Emily and Wren are the parents? Honestly I think that is just it is so freaking hard to find specific looking babies for casting. It is rough because some babies are just born with light hair and eyes and they darken as they get older its insane.

76. Will Emison ever know who their baby daddy is?
They may or they may not care who knows
77. What did the anagram or whatever “Miss Aria you’re a killer and not Ezra’s wife mean”?
 Maya Knew

79. What happened to Tippi the bird? It’s probably dead

80. How did they make a mold of Wilden’s face if Wilden has been dead for a while now? They probably had it from the get go but I’m not sure
