Fuck it. Unprompted Velcinta/Rebelcaptain double date fic preview!!
As they approached the duo currently leaning against her ship and smiling at each other as if they were the only two people in the hangar, she couldn’t help but think they had also missed Mon’s memo about fraternizing in the common areas. The flirtatious look on Cassian’s face – the one he’d tried to use on Cinta so many years ago – was all too familiar, but it didn’t bother her like it once had. There was no need for her to be jealous of anyone. And besides, Cassian’s interest was clearly focused elsewhere at the moment. Vel recognized the look of two people in the early stages of being an inseparable pair. It had been slightly complicated for her and Cinta when it had happened to them, but still she knew. She understood that desire to block out everything but the person you were falling in love with. Hell, she still felt it all the time herself.
The other two were so wrapped up in their own conversation that Vel had to clear her throat aggressively to get their attention as she and Cinta came up to them.
Cassian snapped to attention, taking a full step away from the small, dark-haired woman beside him and standing up straight, adjusting his jacket. Jyn watched it happen and grinned from the side of her mouth while standing up from leaning against the ship herself.
“Clem. Good to see you again,” Vel said, enjoying the way Cinta almost succeeded in hiding a smirk beside her. “Glad you’re not dead.”
“Ah, right,” Cassian said with an oddly embarrassed laugh, looking to Jyn as he rubbed the back of his neck and explained, “I always forget they still call me that.”
“Still?” Jyn questioned.
“We’ve known each other a long time,” Vel told her.
“Lots of fond memories,” Cinta chimed in.
“We’ve done some jobs together,” said Cassian, who then crossed his arms and looked at the two women. “And they did try to kill me once.”
“At least,” Vel muttered.
Full version out Friday....

I've come to the conclusion that loving young royals doesn't mean I can't be critical about it, maybe especially bc I love the show so much I have such strong feelings about it, good and bad and I can love parts of canon and agree with it and appreciate it but I don't have to love it all. I have accepted that it's okay if I don't accept the ending and I don't have to force myself to support it. It's okay to not agree with all of canon and it's okay to not side with all of the creators' intentions/views. Loving a show doesn't mean you have to take everything the writers say on face value and that's the only version that is allowed to exist. Canon isn't everything and fandom is about curating your own experience that makes you happy and not miserable. You don't have to dismiss canon in every aspect and ignore it entirely, that's certainly not what I want but there is a fine line between being canon respectful, allowing some parts to exist and sometimes, yes, you just have to say "fuck canon" and move on for your own sanity and wellbeing

the personal hells in sr4 were so fucking good but it’s unbelievable what they did to pierce. pierce’s simulation is set up as being something genuine about how he is constantly the butt of the joke, how his ideas get stolen/ignored, how much that must wear down on him as a person, how he must wonder if he really fits in with the saints at all and if he really matters….only for the game to give him what felt like the joke simulation.
and like. they could’ve 100% gone with the more commercialist angle but still have it be something meaningful instead of just coming off as poorly written comic relief? as if the simulations aren’t already the best/most dramatic parts of sr4? there is something to be said for the commodification of the self and losing yourself in your brand (and honestly i think srtt should’ve really worked with this theme overall more than it did), and the start of the mission even alludes to that, but it just goes nowhere imo?😭 because i think part of pierce’s charm is that he enjoys this more branded lifestyle, he enjoys being able to throw massive parties every night and having an unimaginable amount of disposable wealth. but like. there’s still an emptiness that comes from that. a sort of detachment. like idk why not frame the sim like. with the filming of the opening commercial from srtt. a neverending loop of reshoots. being hounded by media and his friends alike, permanently stuck doubting himself and questioning if he was still himself, still real—or just another part of the saints brand. at what point does it even matter anymore?

finished s6 and I'm convinced mha is creating these characters in a lab for ME.
like oh, the queer-coded teen with a "predatory" quirk who was shunned by her community and equates violence with love?
her best friend, a sarcastic, disillusioned man with an obvious and sometimes debilitating mental disorder who is loyal to a fault?
the morally gray, emotionally unavailable, burnt-out gifted bird kid who grew up in a cult?
yeah I'm super normal about all of them. don't even fucking get me started on oldest sibling touya todoroki

First: you're so productive drawing it's crazy!
Second: which of your designs is your favorite?
Yeahh haha. I try to keep a balance between school and art but sometimes I'm on a drawing spree. Sometimes I just feel like drawing constantly, but sometimes I feel guilty when I'm not working on anything :'D Definitely need to teach myself out of that mindset. I do plan to slow down a bit because I'm starting to notice burnout with sprinkles of artblock.
My favorite design I think is Iphigenia! I never posted a fullbody of her but I really like drawing her. She's just super fun to draw and I like her shapes and vibe. :D

my experience of trying to get into comics is just, "the plot is mediocre and the art is fine but clearly the penciler and the inker and the colorist were all different and some really really stupid shit happens in one of the issues but it is unfortunately crucial reading in order to understand the character 😔"

its honestly kind of heartbreaking that sonic superstars is just kinda okay after how good frontiers was . like they finally made a really really good mainline game again that had overwhelmingly positive reception after years of hate and mixed responses. but then with the very next game im seeing more negative comments again. and im not saying the criticism is undeserved just that im tired of how sonic always has to be that one franchise everyone hates and can never escape that reputation no matter how much really good sonic stuff comes out. you know.
