He looks at you like artistry. A contemporary piece he's never seen before. Taking in every detail with calculating eyes. Wondering what intentions the skillful hands of the cosmos had in mind when making you.
He wishes to know your story, the happiness that makes the music of your voice, the experiences settled in the sculpt of your frame, the tragedies brushed into the strokes of your irises.
The complexities of your being astound him, mesmerize him. Every new fact he learns about you adds another stanza to your sonnet.
To him, you are art in its purest form. Not one part can exist without the other. The greatest of symphonies would not be complete without their rests. He adores all of you.
How foolish he was at first, to think you were just a simple creature. Oh, the things he has taken for granted. When did he become so blind? Was it his Pride? Or had he simply been breathing for so long, that the sweet orchestra of life became dull to his ears? How long had it been since he stopped to watch people commune in the streets? Or sat a while to watch the trees sway from his window? Or pondered on the meaning of a wonderful word?
Excitement. How many centuries since he's felt like that? Filled with a rather humiliating child-like giddiness. But it's...invigorating. Everything stands out to him fresh, avant-garde. You remind him that there's still so much for him to discover.
A change in the wind, the turning of a page to a whole new chapter, a swelling crescendo, you are enticing. Every second spent with you leaves him craving more.
All he desires is to be in your presence. To see your colors. To hear your melody. To bask in the opus of your existence. It was only a matter of time before you would manage to become his everything, his obsession, his passion. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
For Lucifer is a connoisseur, and to him, you are nothing less than the crown of luxury.

Do you have a family tree for DOTC and the ancient tribes around the lake with Hollyleaf/Fallenleaf?
I don't yet. When I finish up my re-read, I'm going to gather ALL of the DOTC cats and start dividing them up into the three cultural groups. After getting them all in bundles, I'm going to whip them up into proper family trees.
If you're asking about canon's family tree... I can make it if you'd like, but I'd just be showing you the ticking timebomb of genetic diversity they set up for themselves. It's all Quiet Rainkin and random forest cats, most introduced after book 3. None of the other settlers had grandchildren and the living children have no mates.
Sun Shadow died.
Lightning Tail died and Acorn Fur was forced into a vow of chastity
None of Turtle Tail's kits have kits; one is in a vow of chastity
There's nothing to "preserve" about the canon tree, unfortunately. It's not really a "tree," it's more like a couple of bubbles with a ton of dead women floating around outside.
For funsies, let me try and remember all the "bubbles" off the top of my head, plus when the characters were introduced
Ravenstar x Juniper Branch (Book 6)
Milkweed x Leaf (Book 5, Book 2, plus existing kits with an unknown mate)
Misty (Book 2; kits have no kits.)
Shadowkin: Tall, Moon, Sun (1, 1, 5, extinct)
Jackdaw's Cry x Hawk Swoop (extinct)
Turtle Tail x Tom the Wifebeater (endangered)
Riverstar x Finch Song (Book 1, super edition)
Wind Runner x Gorse Fur (Moth Flight and Dust Muzzle are born in book 3)
Willow Tail (introduced with a sibling in book 4; extinct)
Shaded Moss was the father of Rainswept Flower (extinct)
Fox and Petal were siblings (Petal raised Misty's children)
I forgot the name of Drizzle's mom and sibling (book 6)
I think there's also a cat called Apple Bottom Jeans or something in Thunderstar's Echo who has a litter, but I can't remember her mate without google. There were also some litters born in Riverstar's Home I can't remember. I barely remember the side books, were there any others born in Shadowstar's Life...?
Here's all the pairings in the Quiet Rainkin family, as contrast;
Quiet Rain x Unknown (4 kits)
Clear Sky x Bright Stream (Died pregnant; gave birth to 2 dead angel fetus children in heaven)
Clear Sky x Storm (Thunder was the only survivor of 3)
Clear Sky x Star Flower (two litters; the first was 3 iirc, the second unknown)
Jagged Peak x Holly (3 kits)
Gray Wing x Slate (3 kits iirc)
Thunder x Violet Dawn (4 kits)
So... bottom line is, something like 50% of births were coming out of the Quiet Rainkin family, and they account for something like 30% of cats with existing family at all.
Personally, I think that's awful in a prequel arc that's supposed to be about ancestors. So I'm going to be making whole families for BB.

sometimes you realise you've set up what could be a really interesting dynamic and go ohoho.... anyway reader taking advantage of yan silver and silver going along with it wholeheartedly, and lilia noticing and trying to intervene because that's his son you're hurting, but yan silver is yan enough that he gets very upset about his father antagonising and/or trying to hurt you, so lilia is forced to think about what exactly he's going to do about you because he can't just watch and do nothing but even one wrong step will cause irreparable damage to his relationship with silver

i make fun of persona 5 having no concept of subtlety and shoving itself in your face all the time but honestly that may be needed considering people somehow still take this line at face value

wally and home both in a home.
the studio maybe? or the association?
or their just being a couple of goobers.
(context)
in-universe, given that it's paired with another house surrounding one of wally's eyes, i think it's just there to communicate that A.) currently wally and home are the only two on the other side who are fully In The Know (or at least more in the know than the rest of the gang) and/or B.) wally and home are a package deal - if you want to get on wally's good side and stay there, how you treat home (or at least the idea of home) will be a Huge part of that. presumably, this also applies to home, but he's such a mysterious character that while we can speculate about what his standards for wally's treatment are, trying to find anything definitive is more difficult.
alternatively (my friend @kindestegg suggested this one, jokingly at the time) it's just showing off the two sides of wally - on the one hand, he is Always Watching. on the other hand he's just a guy who wants to live peacefully with his home.

Look, am I projecting a personal experience onto dndads? Yes. But I think, upon getting engaged while still in high school, Rebecca unironically said, "He went to Jared's!" to one of her friends while walking in the halls.

I had a dream that I watched the live action avatar the last airbender and it changed it so that zuko's true foe was not the avatar or his father, but five rats that hunted him. Not magic rats. Just five, fat, big grey rats. He had to go to Azula to cry to her to try to get her to save him from the rats that were ruining his life and sabotaging his every attempt at everything he did.

[Image ID: a digital illustration of a large werewolf covered in dark brown hair closely holding and embracing a petite woman with light skin and dark brown hair on a dark grayish-purple background. the werewolf greatly outsizes the woman and his hand easily covers most of the woman's back as he holds her. they both look content with their eyes closed as they are close to each other. /End ID]

Also you know what I just realized. Jake and Bradley would be the kings of dating apps can you imagine
if I met Jake or Bradley on a dating app, it would have actually ruined my life lmao
Jake's bio is something stupid like "liquor? I hardly know her!", he's shirtless in every photo, his anthem is "Cruel Summer", and he says something along the lines of "bet you can't beat me at darts 😏"
Bradley's like "6'1" if that matters", definitely has a fishing photo, is wearing flip flops in every picture, and has some oddly specific request of what kind of girl he wants to settle down with but swipes left on her anyway

Sometimes I think about the good touch-bad touch class I had as a kid. And how they specified between “bad touch” and “confusing touch” which is so so important because even CSA that isn’t physically painful is still dangerous and kids needs to understand those gradients of “bad” in cutting detail. And how they told us that bad touches could come from anyone, even a parent or a babysitter. And how they told us that if an adult doesn’t believe you when you talk about this stuff, you should tell another adult, and another adult, and another adult until someone does believe you, and how that told us there was someone out there who ultimately, inevitably, would.
And then, even though nothing actually happened to me, I’m so so so fucking grateful I got that talk, that I got those resources, that I went to a school with books I could learn from and teachers who were legally permitted to, you know, teach me and our talks were so much more complex than “stranger danger.”
And when I think about the fact that this kind of talk isn’t a fucking iron mandate for every child in the country, on the planet, I feel like I’m gonna throw up.

It bugs me a little bit when people make certain assumptions about Ingo being depicted with longer hair (especially post-art book), because it's not something fans pulled out of their asses. There's an in-game reason they started doing that.
I'll have to go track down the post/source, but early on in PLA's lifecycle, someone was looking at the character models and discovered that, beneath his collar, Ingo's has an addition at the back of his head. It was the same thing used on characters who had their hair tied back, and the assumption was that they just didn't bother modelling that part because nobody would see it under the high collar.
This was way, way before the art book came out, so it was a depiction that had a lot of time to settle. It's not people 'coping', it's what we had reason to believe for months. If anything, I'm more dubious about the art book, because Ingo's page depicts something that canonically could not have happened.

Joui 4 headcanon after months of silence: they were all equally feared on the battlefield of the Amanto War for entirely different reasons. Gintoki's the only one who got folkloric status because his signature bright white clothing and hair cut an easily memorable image amidst so much bloodshed and dark palette's, but if anyone time travelled back to that period or spoke with people who knew the four of them during that time, you'd learn that Katsura, Takasugi and Sakamoto were all equally terrifying opponents to go up against
Here's my breakdown that matters to nobody but myself. Gintoki is a tank player. He can take hit after hit after hit and still get back up and deal just as much as he takes, hence his demon moniker, but if you think he's the only one to take down hoardes by himself you'd be wrong because Katsura was deadly efficient, always aiming for quick kill strikes and moving with a fluid grace few could match
In contrast, Takasugi and Sakamoto were similar fighters, being quick and agile on the battlefield with their core differences being that Takasugi had a similar defence stat as Gintoki whereas Sakamoto's unmistakable laughter sounded so deranged and manic to the minds of already paranoid soldiers that it could strike paralysing fear into most mobs
