IMHO the shipping wars will continue as usual, no matter what happens on screen next season. Why? Because some people just can't accept that other people genuinely like a different ship and lash out using the usual arguments - accusations of self-inserting into the female character, liking incest, misogyny, etc. - things which are bound to get reactions from the opposite side and keep the conflict going. If anything, things have gotten a little bit worse since you "left", at least with Helaemond vs others, like most of the new Helaegon shippers have turned out to be just antis who've joined their Alysmond friends into constantly bashing them. It's also a bit funny considering that, in the beginning, most of the first Helaegons were also Helaemonds, but since then, the ship has been taken over by antis, which made it unpalatable, at least for me. I think though that you did receive some complaints about this new wave of Helaegon shippers just before you closed off your inbox for anons, if I remember correctly. Other than that, I guess there have been some Daemyra vs Alysmond conflicts, at least on Twitter from what I've seen, which involved the former piling on the latter simply because they disliked some theory or interpretation on the text. This is obviously unhinged behavior, but I still support the Daemyras doing this considering that Alysmonds and other green antis have done the exact thing, or worse actually, to fellow greens like Helaemonds so it's a bit hypocritical for them to complain when team black stans give them a taste of their own medicine. Sorry, this got a bit too long lmao, I guess you can take it as an update of how things stand when in comes to the shipping wars.

Hey there, anon, thanks for this very comprehensive recap on the state of the fandom. That's, um, a lot. 😅 I don't know what to say about the helaegon v helaemond thing - for me that is just beyond, bc I also remember people used to ship both with absolutely no issue a couple of months back. I, for one, also ship both + helaegond, so I really don't have any desire to engage with any of that, wow. 🤖

And that is the same advice I would give to anyone else - just stop bothering with the antis and do your own thing. As a general observation, I think that people get sucked into bickering way too often instead of just talking about the things they enjoy & making content for that. I get that, on some level, everyone feels the need to defend themselves when they encounter hate and nasty attitudes, so some level of that is perfectly understandable, but I don't think it's really worth it to let it take up the majority of your fandom experience. As someone who's literally been through hell & back these past months, I can promise you, it's not that serious. ☠️

There is something happening in fandoms of all kinds with the breakdown in communication and just general social norms and manners, where, upon encountering even a slightly different take from their own, people will start losing their shit and engaging in petty fights. They're just some ships, lol. None of these people are real! You can imagine scenarios in which even crackships can make sense. Fans are forming parasocial relationships with fictional characters nowadays - I've lost count of how many "MY Aemond would never do that" I used to see. Girl, what? I mean, it's fine as a joke, but then again you see them getting really belligerent with others, so you really have to question how much of it is truly horsing around and how much is just unhealthy investment and compensation for something else.

Your cheat sheet to every VERY LEGAL stream to watch Olympic events

First of, don't worry, streams are very easy for the Olympics. Some will even be free in your own country even if those aren't always the highest quality. Anyway, for people living in countries that require you to buy a subscription to watch i have a VERY LEGAL way to watch the games anyway.

These are websites that will help you find a stream, just make sure to instal an adblocker extension (i would suggest ublock origin but others work as well) before you visit these websites.

Freestreams https://freestreams-live.my/ is my go to atm for basically any sport. The bigger sports and games you can easily find by entering the name of the country (in case of football) or the name of the sport in the "search event here" bar. Most games come up right away and you simply click "watch" and then the stream you wish to watch. If your game/sport doesn't come up and it's within 4 hours of it starting you need to go another route. Google on what channel your event will be broadcasted and go to the 24/7 TV tab on freestreams. Find the right channel and voila, you're set.

4streams If Freestreams can't provide my next stop is usually to go to https://4stream.watch/, this website sometimes has streams that are a little bit more niche. Again just use the searchbar and press watch when you find your event. 4stream will open up a new tab and link you to tv247365. If the first stream doesn't play, click on the next one under the black screen.

Sportfeed24 https://www.sportsfeed24.com/ is another website i sometimes use. I'm not quite as successful as with the other two websites but sometimes it does. It focusses on US sports so not as much variety but still a handy website. Soccerstreams https://top.soccerstreams100.io/ another useful site at times. A little bit more annoying to navigate sometimes but it usually has plenty of streams and includes the names of the channels (when something is shown on different channels or different countries). Useful when you're trying to find the right language. Again, US focussed so has a particular focus in sports.

There are plenty more VERY LEGAL websites, but these i currently use. If you can't find what you're looking for sent me an ask and i'm sure i will be able to find it for you. I have 5 weeks off so challenge me with some obscure sports please or my brain will turn to mush.

I like to keep my expectations believable so I don't have a whole lot of thoughts on them. It's nice to have them in the story again. It's pretty darn cool to have a union spell not only done by the three strongest witches but also supported by other witches (+ Finral, let's not forget about him 😛). I'm not sure about Vanessa, but I think Dorothy has a fair chance to recieve some spotlight.

But yeah about the Black Bulls. The chapter left me in shambles. I'm given my wish to see them strive before they thrive, but I hope there won't be a sad "...but at what cost" by the end 😅

One thing for sure, I don't want Asta to come back yet. Damnatio is someone who's beyond a supereme devil, but I think the black bulls aren't done yet... Feral Nero fiercely protecting her family wasn't on my bingo card for the final act, but she... pretty, and I'm curious to see what the others can do too! Zora's traps? More Nacht forms? A Magna-Luck combo? Or another Henry-Gordon combo? Charmy...

like, i spent so, so, SO much time in season 1 as a doodler conspiracy theorist trying to figure out how it fit together thematically. like, daddy magic vs doodler magic. they were clearly both so important but i just couldn't ever put a real link between them?

there was the daddy magic stuff happening in the foreground, and the doodler stuff happening in the background, and willy and barry in the middle, touched by one yet seeking the other for sustenance, but there was no concrete link i could figure out outside of baseless speculation.

and it's FINALLY HERE. we FINALLY HAVE THAT LINK. and the missing piece was that the doodler isn't this ancient, primordial being that has always existed. it's new. it's young. it's fucking adam frankenstein, a monster just looking for acceptance from a parent. acceptance that it could never find from any of its hosts - hildy who feared it, barry who idolized and exploited it, henry who hated and buried it. the twins were the closest it ever got to true acceptance but that was fucking shattered when it was brought into their world in an act of profound betrayal and violence

1. What’s something new that you tried in a fic this year? How did it turn out and would you do it again?

Dabbled a bit at the start of the year with some darker themes in smut. I think it turned out pretty well, but I definitely learned I just prefer to write sweet, romantic, and consensual. I'll play with it more at some point, I'm sure, but I think I've found my niche.

2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)

55! 43 of which are published atm

4. What piece of media inspired you the most?

BG3, definitely. Even if I still haven't posted anything for it yet :P

5. What fandom(s) did you write for this year?

FFXIV, Genshin Impact, BG3, and that one Hades fic that I really hadn't intended to write

7. What character(s) captured your heart?

Astarion. I expected to like him because he's a sassy vampire. I did not expect to identify with him as much as I do. I don't doubt he will be firmly lodged in my heart for years to come.

9. What fic meant the most to you to write?

The Soft Green Glow of Affection. I didn't really expect this fic to mean so much to me, but the softness between Aether and Xiao really hit home. Love offering solace to a tortured soul. (Not at all a theme with me, no siree)

12. What fic was the most difficult to write? Did you finish it?

Beneath the Human Guise was my first time working with a threesome, and it was a hell of a challenge keeping pronouns and names straight, not to mention being sure I hit the dynamic I was looking for. I'm really happy with how it turned out tho

13. What fic was the easiest to write?

To Soothe the Suffering of Ten Thousand Years was surprisingly easy to write! I love writing scar exploration, but I didn't expect it to flow quite as smoothly as it did

Shortest: The Warmth of Home at 849 words Longest: The Daily Inconveniences of an Au Ra at 39, 341 (though admittedly some of that is from 2022 -- I still think just the 2023 additions would push it to the longest fic of the year tho)

No Regrets! This fic was the precursor to my Thanuri fic A First for Everything, and I'm still very very proud of how it turned out. Sweet Emmanicard first time <3

junhwan cha's nhk free and skam short: the second we saw jun skate in person we dedicated our lives to seeing him skate again. please know that a good portion of that intensely high pitched screaming from skam is me and kim and lee anne. it was his BIRTHDAY

keegan messing's free at sci: now, this one is simply for the vibes. it was his last ever skate canada and the vibes during this event were terrible. everyone was flopping. energy was low. then keegs saved us and we all stomped and yelled and cried

hello ✨ for Yara and Zevran - 41. Which one would take their jacket it off and drape over the other one because they were visibly shivering?

Ok so I’ve held onto this one for very long because- I actually have a pending commission of this very prompt ! XD

While I feel like the sentiment is there on both ends, I’d definitely say Yara, given both the size difference and the and the temperature tolerance difference.

Yara is just fine in cold weather, and her furs are mostly there to fulfill the role of a weighted blanket, and she’d definitely share it. Actually, I think it would happen fairly early on in the story , as in during the first or second day.

It’s Ferelden and the man is wearing an armoured skirt! It doesn’t help that they’d be sharing a tent at first and that he’d most likely go for the seduction act. This is all underbaked, as is my brain atm, but imagine a Sokka-Zuko tent scene except it’s Yara’s tent and her immediate, kneejerk reaction is to… look at his legs (….good sign?) and go “aren’t you cold?” (???? sign?). So he gets the heavy furs. And tea. And is a bit taken aback to explain the scenario to her. Later that night her brain catches up and she’s like “wait, was this…? *Nah*” and then she doesn’t think about it again XD

But yeah. Yara would be the one to share jackets/furs/coats with Zevran as she’s aware that he’s from a much warmer place, and he’s… perfectly happy with that.

Alrighty here we go

So, if we’re talking characteristics of the miraculous, between the ladybug miraculous and black cat miraculous, Dream is very ladybug. At surface level, Dream’s quite chaotic and rather scattered, but that kinda comes with the ADHD territory, yknow? Below that, Dream is one of the most creative people I’ve ever seen. He’s very clever and a quick thinker, finding the solutions to problems that seem impossible to solve in even the most minimal resources (refer to: basically every manhunt ever). He has so much love for and gives so much love to the world, and he loves to bring people together. Also, bro has insane luck

(+ a little on the sadder side: so many people place so much responsibility on his shoulders, it’s absurd)

Now, onto the characters Ladybug and Chat Noir! I’d say based on character personalities, Dream is still quite Ladybug, but he’s also incredibly fun loving and outwardly chaotic in most situations. He’s not one to get aggressive, and often keeps things a little more lighthearted, like Chat. Also, he’s a massive simp.

He tends to take his shortcomings pretty harshly, which both Ladybug and Chat Noir do. All in all, I think Dream is more Ladybug/ladybug than Chat Noir/black cat, but I wouldn’t be mad about putting him in Chat Noir’s role either. Maybe there’s an even more fitting miraculous out there for him, but atm my brain is too mush and I’ve been slacking a little on keeping up with all the miraculous’ characteristics

ACCOUNT MANIFESTO ASK. like the thing about ladybug is that most importantly they have to be kind, creative and willing to do what's right (employing 14 y/os will get you that) WHICH is what dream does. being a little impulsive and anger prone clearly isn't a restrictive characteristic becasue — again, marinette is a miraculous holder. nd i just think having him as a holder of any other miraculous just doesn't add up except the dog one because i think it'd be cute. excellent points, an A to this

and yes!! I'm really enjoying shiny hunting and this is the first time since black/white where I've actually put effort into it and scarlet makes it so easy which is great cuz I'm always busy lol

I've gotten a full box of shinies so far and just a few days ago a whole team of shiny gyarados which tbh I was never really into before but now it's become one of my favs <3 I've made one of them an oc so now I just have to figure out how to design her 🤔 atm trying to find a shiny deino cuz I'd like that thing to be her kiddo

worst hunts so far tho have been cetoddle, slither wing, and girafarig mostly just cuz it took FOREVER and I could feel my brain actually turning to mush. eventually got em and I love them but oh my god what pain lol. also most of my shinies so far have been female so that's interesting but I love drawing girls so win win for me <3

some midway-through-camp-nano thoughts (currently sitting at 9.9k/15k)

i've been rly enjoying this challenge i set for myself! doing a bunch of little stories/fics has been fun, but after the first week or so i started feeling like i was running out of ideas/steam. i've been able to keep going on an unbroken streak despite that, but every day it feels a little harder.

sometimes the writing itself feels like the hardest part, but for the most part once i get going i keep going, so long as i have an idea to work with.

the drabblethon challenge has let me experiment with some style stuff and topics and ships, so that's been a good time, too!

i'm thinking about doing july's camp nano, too, but i'm running into a few issues there. 1) going on vacation in july, 2) the problem of running out of ideas is stronger, and 3) i'm going to be doing some form of learning over the summer. so maybe i won't do july's camp nano? but i want to.

my brain is kinda mush atm so maybe this post isn't coherent, but yeah. i'm having a good time with the drabblethon challenge but maybe if i end up doing this again in july i'll just try to work on smth else or come up with a different challenge? maybe i'll write up a better list of ideas than the vague lists i have currently.

been thinking about doing the same word count goal (15k) but doing 500+ word fics as my challenge? so a new fic a day that's at least 500 words. idk! maybe i'll be working on a longer project by then. big shrug!

my commitment issues make longer projects scary to think about but it's a lot of energy to plan out so many different stories every day.

welp, breakdown happened. gotta say, not feeling too good. mother made mood worse. fairly sure i experianced a panic attack at some point, brain is like mush atm. at least i cleaned the kitchen mid session to help stay distracted.

dont want to go back to work tommorow. still havent showered with no clean clothes, only eaten a slice of cake and a small drink of pepsi all day.

yeah. feeling close to having another. want to save it for work so that i either get the day off or have someone fucking listen without patronizing me or just telling people (my gran reaaally broke my trust that one time).

i want to cut my hair, take a shower, cook and write. thats all i currently want to do right now and it makes me wanna breakdown again cause i no longer have any energy to do that.

something tells me im going to have severe burnout soon due to work and it wont be pretty when it hits.
