"grappler with a shoryu" - a shoryu, or a shoryuken/DP is a reversal with an invincible startup. peppino's uppercat animation resembles a shoryuken, hence he gets one. grapplers dont usually get these for balance reasons

noise: kohaku- meddling trap-placement character in melty blood, big trickster that puts things around that youll run into trying to get to her essentially, though shes got really good offense on her own faust- item toss character thats really good at keeping you at whatever range he wants you at onscreen midrange zoner- wants to keep you away, but not at fullscreen, so he can keep putting you into bullshit

pepperman: "big body but not a grappler" - big bodies usually have more health/defense and "armor" on their moves in exchange for slower movement and better payoff "maybe hes doing some tekken shit" - yeah "definitely has counters" - a counter move is a parry that automatically grants you a counterattack

gustavo and brick: relius- guy with good offense who controls a second body on a separate resource meter to lock down pressure

vigi: keepaway characters traditionally have less health than others to make you REALLY worry about getting caught; the noise prefers midrange but vigi prefers full-range and has efficient tools for arena escape

noisette: a "shoto" is a function like ryu or ken, very much the white bread of fighting games but always welcome and usually very fun and expressive to pick up. usually has a projectile and a shoryuken, at least

pizzelle: shoto was explained on the noisette slide 👍 chipp and millia are both characters that focus on incredibly pressure and high combo counts, but have low health and poor defense to balance it out. basically speed demons

pizzano: SUPER ARMOR means you can hit him but it Will Not Stun Him. characters that super armor through shit are usually seen as Scary as Hell but also tend to be slower, big-body damage sponges. i think pizzano can move tho "this mf has divekicks" - this mf has divekicks "what if viewtiful joe was big and scary" - viewtiful joe is generally regarded to be a lower tier character in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3: one of the smallest and slowest characters, with a lot of quirky bullshit that requires a lot of high execution but also a tv pose spotdodge (spotdodge: stay in place and avoid an attack). making vjoe 1. big 2. move better 3. not die instantly the second he gets touched by a magneto would create a horrifying force

I think I did notice when it switched to Pythia, at least subconsciously bc I paused at it and scrolled up a bit to see if it'd always been Pythia but ig I didnt scroll up enough lmaoooo

Ohkygod he switches to Pythia the minute Phil enters the room ohkgyfo u cant be playing around with the narrative like this bee, u are way too smart wtf... I'm still in awe with how flawlessly you play around with the change of name. It's always intentional, and yet it feels so natural when you read it. It doesn't feel like a conscious decision from Wilbur at all, ughh it's so good!!!!

When i first started this fic i was so certain that the majority of all Clara's things were just misinterpretations from her followers that got passed down century to century but now atp idek. Im skipping ahead and I'll probs talk more about it at the end of the chapter but like Kristin literally touched Wilbur- Clara's never gotten that close to him. Though maybe it's bc she's not as strongly connected? On both ends... Im rambling here as I theorize so I might not phrase this correctly but, like. My first thought was Phil said blood helped her connect better to the living world, so maybe that's why she can be physically here and not Clara, but I also thought about how maybe it does affect the relationship whether it's mutual or not, right? Cause Phil chose to be with her, there's trust on both ends. Wilbur got thrown into it, and maybe that affects the magic of the connection or smth. Or Clara's a bitch lmaoooo. I always appreciate seeing the god of life being the antagonist. I feel like it's not gonna be black and white though, things are not often with you hahahaha.

I am certain though, that at least a large portion of the traditions they have (cough not being able to see the face cough) (just being treated as not a person lol), are things both misinterpreted or just plain ol made up to be able to better control the Pythia. The way you describe all the tiny details, god, your writing feels so real. It feels like it breathes. I feel so immersed in it. I can not only see everything happening around me, I can feel it, as if I were there. I dunno, I just really appreciate all the tiny details you mention, and how you take care to remind us that his eyes are closed by describing the sounds around him, and how you mention him feeling odd when he winces bc of his face being numbed, like ik theyre not a big deal, but those details mean so much to me. They make everything feel so much more alive.

And the way you describe people's thoughts, they're so realistic rahhhhhhss. Your characters always feel truly human

I was definitely debating whether or not to start the chapter with him using wilbur, but it just felt right so I went with it and I'm very happy with the tone it gave because it provided such a good tone shift when phil showed up and wilbur switched back to using 'the pythia'. it's such a fun narrative tool to use, though it's definitely a bit exhausting to remember every time i refer to wilbur in narration i'm making a choice with how i refer to him. fun, but a lot to keep in my head

yeah no phil is not wilbur's long lost father or anything. I only think those kinds of twists work in very specific stories, otherwise it just feels like a cheap way to be like "look now these two have a biological reason to care about each other!" and really gives off the vibes of found family being less important than blood family

the thing is regarding wilbur's relationship to clara is that when contrasted with phil's relationship to kristin, i want it to be obvious that it's a two-way relationship. you have to put in what you wanna get out.

I know that when I read something, I want to be able to see the scene perfectly in my head, so I try to emphasize the facial expressions and body language and the setting they're in and all that to really immerse the reader in it

Its a few years after that faithful class and a few months after you graduate. But no matter how hard you try, you couldnt get that southern beauty out of your head. You tried your luck when applying for other classes, but your schedule never seemed to line up. Asking around didnt really help either, she didnt live on campus and wasnt particularly close to the people you hang out. Whatever, it wasnt a big deal! Its not like she haunts your daydreams when you should be paying attention in class and back in your room while youre sleeping. Its ok, really.

Anyways, you had the most exhausting week youve had since graduating, so you decided to treat yourself to your favorite coffee shop/bookstore. Its been awhile since youve been there. Putting on your most comfortable but still cute outfit, you head out of your apartment and set out.

Once you arrived, you got hit with the bitter coffee smell and the soothing jazz playing on the speakers. Its wasnt terribly busy, but there was still a decent line for the register. So much for an easy day. You sighed and made your way to the back of the line. You couldnt see who was manning the register but you could tell it was definitely someone newer cause usually it goes a little faster with seasoned workers. No big deal tho, you'll be sure to tip them a little extra for having to deal with customers all day.Slowly but surely, you made your way up to the register counter. You already had your order in mind, so there was no need to look up at the menu. So that left you being face to face with the cashier. Who had a...familiar face. You couldnt pin out how and where, but she looked so familiar. Gorgeous brown hair pulled back behind her cap, beautiful light green eyes, full lips that had a shine from gloss, and perfect manicured nails on top of her tablet. All in all, one of the most beautiful girls youve ever seen. But where have you seen her?

"What can I get started for you, sweetheart?"

Just from hearing her voice, all of it came rushing back to you. The biology class, being paired up and initially dreading it, fearing she would be another case of dropping all the work into you while still getting credit, actually turning out to be one of the nicest people you ever met. The girl that plagued your mind for months even after the class ended. The one you were too nervous to talk to and regretted that you missed your chance. Now shes here standing not even a foot away from you.

Quickly breaking out of your thoughts and yelping out your order, you handed her some cash and sped walked to a empty table before groaning into your hands. Of course you had to embarrass yourself in front of her and the entire shop. Goddammit, why cant things go your way?

Eventually, your name was called from the front and you stood up to grab your cup. You took a sip and, wow. It was perfect, exactly how you liked it. Kudos to whoever made it. Lowering your cup, you noticed more writing next to your name. Confused, you turned the cup around to read what it said.

Your cheeks burned up as you looked over at the workers counter. The two of you made eye contact and she gave you a quick wink before moving on to help her customer. - i was more of an explorer than an adventurer. i liked exploring ruins, old places and places most people wouldn't go. i was especially fond of haunted places and id often take trinkets i found interesting from places i visited

- my hair was long. not as long as finn's, but i rarely cut it, and my tail was prehensile! i often used it as an extension of my hands and would grab stuff with it. sometimes id use it while i fought

- i met finn and jake when finn was around 17, and i was roughly the same age. they were on some wild adventure and we just happened upon each other and stayed together for the remainder of the adventure.

- in some ways i couldve been considered a petty thief. i definitely messed with finn/jake all the time when we first met because i thought they were hilarious. it was some kind of extension of my natural cat agility. jake didnt like me at first cus of this lol

- i lived in a colony of catpeople that was behind a waterfall. it was originally some kind of bunker from humans during the mushroom war i think? i lived there with my little sister, kit. i had other siblings, but most of them had already left the nest

- all catpeople had experience with magic, so i knew some as well. though i preferred using smaller weapons like daggers and knives to using my magic

- finn, jake and i became buds after a lot of accidental run-ins. i didnt really join their adventures proper until jake retired to be a full time dad.

- overtime, finn and i became adventuring partners and queerplatonic partners. it was never official, but we both kinda knew. it was nice, since finn didn't have much interest in romance and i was too oblivious for it. We pretty much just did whatever felt right

- when jake passed, we buried him under a tree. it might have been fern's tree.

- finn... wasn't really the same after jake passed for a good while. he acted like himself around others, but whenever he thought he was alone he just.... deflated. it was hard to watch.

- eventually in our adulthood we had kids together. yes, bio kids. or at least one. through some kind of magical means like a curse or spell or something. anyway, she was a blonde kitten named vanilla. we called her vannie or nilla for short. we never got married or anything, we were long-term partners who had a family (hes still my husband tho <3). if im remembering right, i think we had about 4 kids

- finn and i became heroes for hire, akin to bounty hunters to provide for the fam. marcy, bonnie and simon were our go-to babysitters. we had a log cabin that we and some friends built not too far from where the treehouse was

- betty WASN'T absorbed by golb!!! im not sure how, i dont have a science brain, but peebs and betty worked tirelessly on trying to reverse the crown's affects. she eventually succeeded, but it took years. finn and i were in our 20s(?) by the time simon came back

- simon and i were pretty close, since our interests lined up. i remember going on expeditions with him sonetimes. sometimes me, marcy, bonnie, simon, betty and finn would all go as one big group. those were always fun

the other dreami had was one where i was in front of a house out in the middle of the road, doing all sorts of flips and spins. it was morning but it was dark out. dark enough that i felt good enough to do this even tho there were peopel out nearby just millling about. they couldnt really see me so i felt happy and unfettered enough to just enjoy doign flips and spins n shit and feeling the rush of movement and wind on my hair and face. it was dark out in such a way that nobody could see except for me(or so i thought ig) i kept doing more flips n spins until i noticed someone about to take a pic of me on their phone with the flash on. i stopped to tell her to delete it while i looked for places to take cover under. i dont know if they did and i dont know what happened after that but i was in standing beside the front door of the house i mentioned before. i saw someone i hate standing across from me on this like neck/shoulder height, flat cement brick shelf thing. it was coming out of the wall of the house in a patch of dirt in front of a window that was a bit to the right (if your back was to the door) of the front door.. i saw someone i hated. he said something. i said shut the fuck up to him. he got mad and was about to go into some stupid meaningless tangent that was directed towards me but he was only speaking towards the person beside him. he couldnt be bothered to look or speak to me directly. he was only a few words into the attempted tangent before i walked up to him, grabbed the back of his head, and pressed his mouth and teeth into the shoulder height cement brick shelf. i cant say for certain that it was me that severed his head from his shoulders but that is most definitely what happened next. so i mean it very well could have been me that severed his head so cleanly and quickly. but i have reason to doubt that i made the actual motion to do so. maybe it was just an extension or manifestation of my hateful, contemptuous, feelings in that moment. so then i guess it would have been me. but maybe it was something or someone else. im pretty sure i grabbed theb ack of his head with my left hand? so im not sure i would have been able to cut it with my right... maybe. maybe that didnt matter. either way his body remained motionless for a while even tho it should have collapsed to theg round immediately. then it just slowly tipped over backwards until it eventually hit the dirt. there was no blood this time. hm.    the person he was talking to at the time looked at me. i felt their gaze but i only continued looking at the clean neck wound that was just freshly made. i think i let go of his lifeless head then. i think i also woke up after someone said something to me.

Truly. School festival? Wild i dont think ive ever been to one of those. Not sure mine ever had them but im glad you had so much fun! Its not completely finished yet i get that done next week but its very cool i love it. I have like. 12 piercings now with still more i want. You rolled your eyes,seeing Hyunjin running out if the room completely panicked and at this point you couldn’t even tell if he was teasing you or if he was serious.

He didn’t return for a quite long time, you got a little bit suspicious, but after a few more minutes,he returned with a grin on his face.

“I thought you died because you drank hand sanitizer or something to get rid of the germs-“ you teased him, cocking up your eyebrows while looking at him.

“Not that buuuutttt”, he then replied, a smirk appearing on his face,” i ordered your favorite take out food and I’m willing to watch a movie to you, but only with a safe distance,okay”

“Thank you babe”, you smiled at him and blew him a kiss afterwards “but are you sure that you don’t wanna cuddle??”

I feel like he’d be really panicked at first

“are you sure that you’re okay??do you need any meds??maybe you should go to the doctor i can-“

Jisung was completely freaked out when he say you sitting in the couch, wrapped up in thousands of blankets, tons of used tissues laying around you and your face red from the fever you were having.

He immediately dropped all of his bags, running up to you grabbing your hands full in panic, looking you in the eyes like your about to die.

When you woke up it was way brighter,so you probably slept for a few hours. When you noticed that Felix was gone, you let out a small cry, but you immediately got distracted by the smell of fresh brownies.

Just now the door opened,Felix walking in with a cup of hit chocolate in his one hand and a plate with a brownie in the other.

“Here, to make you feel a little bit better” he said while handing you the plate and a fork, giving you a huge smile.
