just remembered a really funny moment when i was studying abroad. we toured a winery and our guide showed us some massive distillery barrels with a bunch of piping and gauges and stuff (idk my winery terms sorry). they were MASSIVE. he points to them and goes, “oh those aren’t wood btw, we just painted them to look like that” and we all just stared at him. then he showed us the actual barrels in the basement

#not entirely sure what those barrels were used for bc i forgot :(#but they were like 12feet tall #and just painted to look wooden and old #i have no idea why 😭#personal
