oky it’s fucking TIME to talk about mcc misogyny we are NOT dancing around it anymore .

the community fucking hates women . especially the subreddit but also the general community . i can’t talk about every women bc i haven’t watched the pov of every woman in mcc .

tina kitten. her entire mcc experience was being treated as a nerf tool by the community. she only played in a handful of events but her teams routinely credited as some of the lowest ranked teams in the history of mcc in pre-game prospects . they’ve had the LEAST chance at winning and the community commonly rests that blame on tina’s back . is tina a great mcc player? no, she hasn’t had much opportunity to learn from it or practise much. but the constant backlash she faces for being a “bad player” and a “nerf” is demotivating . and after treating her like shit people treat her like shit MORE to tell her she’s overreacting if she is upset or has a problem with anything .

but scar has similar stats . he’s a relatively new player who hasn’t had much chance to learn from the event yet and hasn’t placed top 20. but nobody ever complains about scar being teamed with anyone as a nerf . nobody complains scar is dragging the team down . same goes for people like quackity and karl who don’t regularly place well. nobody complains they’re nerfs or that they’re ruining the teams chances . and evryone is quick to comfort them if they feel bad for ‘letting their team down’

niki nihachu is a similar situation . she’s been playing in the event for well over a year now and is routinely shunned by members of the community for not playing good enough . you can argue ‘she ranks x out of 40 on average’ all you want but does that warrant the way people treat her in her chat and in the subreddit?? does that warrant the immense pressure she feels to improve and the fact that he feels she’s let so many ppl down if she doesn’t?? does it warrant people talking shit talking her and laughing at her for getting emotional due to stress over the event on stream? the fact that she’s so stressed over the event should tell you everything . people has treated her like shit since the beginning for being ‘too emotional’ .

jojosolos. girl. she came into the event as an extremely strong player. she’s placed top ten 6 out of 9 times she’s played (canon and non canon) . for canon events she has 5/6 top ten placements one win and a first individual placement . purpled has 6/7 top ten placements, one team win and one first individual placement . they have extremely similar track records . so why is it that the s tier committee is trying to hard to designate purpled as an s tier but are adamant that jojo doesn’t deserve the same treatment because she’s yet to prove herself as being an s tier player . they have roughly the same stats .

hannahxxrose . she’s faced criticism for her competitiveness over her entire streaming career . to the point where she recently pointed out that people have been calling into question her mental well-being because of her competitive attitude and loudness. some men in the community (specific ones that are hated before the game even starts) are given similar critiques but not once has their mental health been called into question. but the majority of competitive men in the community haven’t been called out on their ‘bad attitudes’, only the ones that specific mcyt communities don’t like to begin with . typically if a man gets loud or starts screaming during the event it’s funny to you . but for a woman she’s taking it too seriously and needs a wellness check .

both jack manifold and karacorvus have an average placement of 26 . kara has one win and jack has lost every dodgebolt he’s been part of . but kara faces harsher criticism bc she doesn’t have the same following as jack manifold so she doesn’t have ppl who will defend her as being a good addition to the team for something other than her ability . bc ppl will defend jacks bad placement because :o !!!! he’s playing with his friends!!!! despite having the same ability as the women that are routinely shit on .

my point is that you can say what you want about certain mcc players . you’re not gonna like everyone . but the double standards between male and female mcc competitors is very much real and a problem in the fanbase. more people are fans of the male streamers and i get that’s why you want them to succeed. but to overlook the flaws you degrade female plaster for in the creators you admire is to have an internal bias against them . if you’re going to have criticisms they’re gonna have ti be for EVERYONE who uses that kind of behaviour . and i think if we see that enforces you’ll realise that a lot of the critiques were bullshit to begin with .

and this can NOT be chalked up to the behaviour of the dsmp community alone . you’re all just as bad, this focuses primarily on dsmp examples bc i watxh primarily dsmp streamers. ALL of this happens on the mcc subreddit .

Two years.

Two years without him.

In August of 2022 I was hanging in a VC with a close friend, when both of us have trouble sleeping we will often hop in a VC and chill until we get tired. During one of these sessions he introduced me to Technoblade by showing me the Sad-ist animations, and I was enthralled *instantly*. Then that bastard /aff left for a week, leaving me to dive headfirst into one of the longest running fixations I have ever had.

I watched a single EvanMCgaming video about the DSMP lore, then proceeded to binge the rest and the rest is history.

My first few videos of Techno's content were : Doomsday, the jail podcast and Techno & Ranboo's excellent adventure, kicking off my love of Boreal Trio. I consumed every bit of content I could, falling into watching both Phil and Ranboo who regularly streamed between long sessions of watching every Techno video I could.

I found a dynamic in that trio in the north I will forever be fond of, eventually extending to the Syndicate as well before I found SBI. I then mained SBI for about two years until...well...y'know. [Wilbur, for fucks sake, you rat bastard /neg].

I found so many people who I enjoy the content of through the silly pig man with an honourable nature and silly banter. At first it was simply just Boreal Trio, then it slowly extended to include so many : Eret, Sam, Tubbo, Niki, Fundy, Jack Manifold, Badboyhalo, Quackity, Karl Jacobs, HBomb, Foolish, Slimecicle, Michaelmcchill, Tina, Seapeekay, Aimsey...

Since then I have accomplished so much. I became a Twitch Mod for Eret [still am, they are an amazing person and streamer]. I've written over 700k on A03. I have made lifelong friends. I found my passion for creativity and was able to channel it once more. I found a home and a safe place.

It lead me into following DSMP to the bitter end, same with QSMP and now I mainly hang around Hermitcraft while still indulging my past fixations.

And it always comes back to Technoblade. He was the key to me finding a sanctuary to be myself in this crazy world and provides me comfort to this day, a little bit of his soul living on through each of his friends and every time we tell his stories.

So do this Voice a favour. Keep telling those legends. Speak the tales far and wide about this fantastic man who was gone too soon but fought a fantastic fight. He brought joy and light to everyone, inspiring hundreds of thousands. He is special enough to be remembered by millions, and has helped bring funding to a rare form of cancer after his death.

Technoblade changed the world, both mine and everyone else's.

I miss Technoblade, but he will never die in our hearts.

I just wish I could tell him thank you, just once, for how much he helped and inspired me.

Reader is the new guitar tech hired for ERRA’s next tour. Her and Jesse initially get off the wrong foot and generally don’t get along. "I think you're doing it wrong," Jesse's soft voice called over your shoulder.

Your eyes sliced into him and set down one of his guitars. "Alright, Cash. Do it yourself then!"

Pushing past him, you decided to cool off your anger by sitting outside in the back of the venue to read.

You were the guitar tech for Erra for the last six months and while you got along well with the other members, Jesse had to be difficult.

You didn't know why because you were always professional and kept to yourself.

"Don't think too much into it, kid," JT ruffled your hair. "Jesse's been through a lot so he's just reserved."

The only one who knew your feelings for Jesse was JT. He knew how often your gaze lingered on Jesse when he entered a room or how you found yourself nearby of him.

The cool autumn air felt wonderful on your heated skin as you sat on a bench behind the venue. You finished your duties for the day until the actual show started, so you wanted to spend some time to yourself.

Less than an hour later, Jesse stepped outside with his own book in his hand.

Both of your eyes locked but before he could leave, your soft voice called after him.

"You can stay."

It had been constant bickering back and forth between the two of you and frankly, you were tired of it. You just wanted some peace for once so if that meant allowing him to sit next to you, you'd allow it.

Hesitantly, Jesse adjusted his glasses before sitting next to you. His attention wasn't on his book, it was on yours.

On the last day of the tour, the two of you were sitting in his bunk on the tour bus and your legs were across his due to the tight space, as he read softly out loud.

But you couldn't focus on his words.

All you wanted was to finally taste his lips.

"As the wind blew-," Jesse's words were cut off when you finally pressed your mouth to his.

He stilled for a moment before it clicked what was happening and quickly he laid you back on the bed.

Your tongues molded together perfectly as you ran your hand through his luscious curls.

"Sweetheart," he muttered against your mouth. "I've been wanting to kiss you since I first saw you."

Today is the day. Corpse was invited to a dinner by his friends. He had been excited all day and couldn't think of anything else. He couldn't even sit anywhere in peace.

"Corpse, we have to leave right away." You call from the front door towards your bedroom.

Corpse comes sneaking out with his head hanging and stands in front of you. He lifts his head and looks at you. "I don't think I want to go there. You can go by yourself."

You laugh softly and put your hands to his cheeks. "I don't even know your friends. They invited you. Not me." You say and press your finger into his chest.

His frightened look becomes insightful. "Alright... I'll get dressed then."

Corpse bends down to put on one of his shoes. "Are you sure you don't want to go alone?" He asks again, looking up at you between his arms as he bends down.

You shake your head and turn to the shelf where the keys to your apartment and your car are lying. You reach for them and turn back to him.

"Everything will be all right. I'm here."

Corpse rises and nods. "Then let's go. If we wait any longer now, I won't move a bit."

You grab Corpse hand and together you leave your apartment and head for your car.

When you get out of the car again you go around the car to Corpse who is standing there transfixed, staring at the restaurant. In front of him is a group of people. These seem to be his friends with whom you are meeting today.

"Give me your hand." You say and hold out your hand to him.

Before he puts his in yours, he wipes it once more on his pants.

Hand in hand you walk towards the group. You notice how Corpse slows down the closer you walk towards the group.

You briefly squeeze his hand with yours to give him security and to show him that you are there.

A few meters before you reach the group, a brown haired woman turns and looks around. When she sees Corpse she starts waving strongly. She starts to draw the group's attention to you two. Now the others also turn in your direction.

You hear Corpse gulp. "Hey Corpse, we finally meet again."

"Okay, take it easy Corpse." He speaks softly to himself. "This is Rae," he says to you.

You nod. Of course you know who she is. Corpse has often talked about his friends.

You arrived in front of the group. "Hey... good to see you all again."

"Come here." Rae doesn't wait for an answer and immediately takes Corpse in her arms. He gives her a slightly overwhelmed squeeze.

"Who did you bring with you?" Rae asks as Corpse greets the others and you stand by.

"Oh, sorry. This is my girlfriend Y/N."

,,You have a girlfriend?" Karl asks. You know him from videos, too. "Since when?"

Corpse thinks for a moment. "It's been almost two years now."

"And in all that time you haven't thought, 'I could tell my friends about this'?"

"Well..." A shy smile creeps onto your boyfriend's lips. You look up at him and have to smile, too. He is just too cute when he is shy.

"It doesn't matter. Nice to meet you. I'm Tina." A brown haired woman says and spreads her arms for a hug.

"Me too." You say as she embraces you.

"I'm glad we have a new girl in the group. I'm Rae." She smiles and embraces you as well.

You also greet all the others with a hug. Karl murmurs, "I can't believe you didn't tell us."

As you stand next to Corpse again, he reaches for your hand. You look up at him. He throws you a grateful smile.

"Shall we finally go inside now?" Karl asks. Everyone agrees and together you enter the restaurant.

You are led to a large table. You sit next to Corpse and Tina. Rae across from you.

The cards are brought and you order your food. You are immediately asked by Rae how you met.

You tell her that you and Corpse live in the same house and met by chance in the stairwell from time to time. And that's where your relationship begun.

While you are talking Corpse is looking at you all the time. His hand rests on your thigh. You put yours on his. He turns his hand so that you can intertwine them.

So you sit there. Holding hands under the table and throwing each other loving glances. Everyone notices, of course, and thinks it's sweet how in love you both are. You enjoy the evening with Corpse friends.

At the end, Rae and Tina ask for your number. You give it to them.

As you say goodbye, with tight hugs of course, Karl asks if you would like to be in a stream. "No one has to know that you are a Corpse girlfriend."

You look at Corpse who nods. "If that's what you want." You look at Karl again. "Yes, I'd love to. If you don't mind..."

You are immediately interrupted by Rae. "Of course we don't mind. You're really nice."

You smile sheepishly. "Thank you."

"Bye" Says Corpse. And with these word you part.

As you sit in the car, you turn to your boyfriend. "That was a nice meeting. I like your friends."

Corpse takes a deep breath because it was a little exhausting for him.

He turns his face to you. "They liked you, too. You could tell."

"Thank you for taking me with you." You say and lean towards him. He also leans forward until your lips touch. He puts his hand on your cheek. His thumb runs over your cheekbone.

When you part from each other again, your cell phone makes a noise. You look to see who has written to you. An unknown number.

You read the message. 'Hey, it's Rae. Hope you liked it with us today.'

You smile. You put your phone aside. "Why are you smiling like that?" Corpse asks in his deep voice.

You were at a small outdoor party one of your other streamer friends had invited you to. You hadn’t been a streamer for very long, so you weren’t as close with the other people at the party besides Karl, who had invited you. You saw Sapnap, George, and Tina, who you had met at the streamer events earlier in the day, but they were in the middle of their own conversation and you didn’t feel like you were close enough to them yet to go and join in. When you went over to grab a drink and head to an unoccupied seat, you heard a familiar voice behind you.

“I don’t know. I just don’t think I’m entertaining enough for people to want to actually watch me.”

“I’d watch you. You’re entertaining to me. You should just try it, really. Trust me.”

You had taken his advice to start streaming and hadn’t regretted it one bit. Your channel was growing, you actually had fans, and you were even being invited to streamer events like the one you had attended today. All of this was because of the support Alex had been giving you from the start and helping you along the way. He had become a place of comfort and warmth for you.

You smiled back at Alex. “Yeah, Karl actually invited me kinda last minute. I thought maybe it could be fun,” you said as you shrugged your shoulders.

“Well, are you? Having fun?,” he questioned.

“I am now that you’re here,” you said as you threw a wink his way.

He laughed and placed a hand on your shoulder. “Okay, Mr. Rizzington,” he said as he rolled his eyes, “Let’s go sit down somewhere.”

You followed him as he led you over to a bench that faced away from the party and out towards the ocean. The entire event had been an amazing time and you had enjoyed it all, but the night view of the ocean was 10 out of 10 compared to the rest. You both sat down and while the bench was small, you wished it was smaller so you had an excuse to sit closer to Alex.

“Sorry, I feel like I haven’t really been able to catch up with you much. I’ve just been so busy with the event all day and haven’t had a chance to check up on how you’ve been doing with everything going on.” He rubbed his hands on his lap as he talked.

“No, Alex, it’s okay,” you turned your body towards him on the bench as you spoke, “you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll be fine, just do whatever you need to do and enjoy your time with all your friends here.”

“I’m not worried. I just care about you and want to spend time with you, dummy,” he said lightly shoving your shoulder with his.

Even his playful touch made your skin feel electric and you couldn’t help but feel a shiver as the sparks ran through you.

Your shiver caught his attention. “Oh, are you cold? It is a little chilly now that the sun has gone down. We can head inside if you want?”

Before you could answer, Alex was already standing to his feet and motioning for you to stand with him. You stood up from your spot and walked with him toward the hotel everyone was staying at for the event. Now that it was dark outside, the path to the hotel was lit by tiny lights along the side of the walkway. The two of you matched each other’s pace as you slowly made your way back to the hotel and you told him about the people you had met a the streaming event that day. You finished talking as the two of you approached the entrance of the hotel and you looked up at Alex to see that he was just staring and grinning at you at you spoke.

You laughed nervously under his stare. “Why are you just staring at me like that?” You tried to sound annoyed to distract him from the blush that you knew was creeping up on your face.

“Mmm I don’t know,” he shrugged his shoulders, “You seem happy. I just like seeing you happy.” As he finished his sentence, the two of you had stepped into the elevator. “What floor are you?”

“I’m on 6th.” You watched as he pushed the button to your floor and put his hand back in his pocket. “Oh, are you on the same floor as me?”

“Nope. I was gonna come hang out with you in your room if that’s fine? Damn, trying to get rid of me already,” he joked.

You taunted back at him, “I guess it’s fine with me. You just can’t get enough of me, yeah, yeah.”

“Something like that.”

The door to the elevator opened and the two of you stepped off. You walked him to your hotel room and tapped your card to enter the room. You turned to Alex as the door shut behind both of you.

“So, do you want to watch a movie or something?” You hoped he said yes because you couldn’t handle being alone in this room with him without something to distract you from the butterflies that bang around in your stomach whenever he’s around.

“Sounds good to me,” he said as he flopped onto your bed and grabbed the remote. He patted the spot next to him on the bed. “C’mon and sit. It’s your bed.”

You really didn’t want to sit next to him because you might evaporate into thin air the second you do, but reluctantly, you kicked off your shoes and made yourself comfy on the bed. He flipped through the channels and found a movie that had already started not too long ago, so you two hadn’t missed much of it. The movie played on and you felt like you had done well to hide your nerves so far. Well, until you felt his eyes on you. You tried to pretend you didn’t notice him stealing glances at you here and there. Maybe he could tell he made you nervous. Maybe there was something stuck in your hair. Maybe-

Your thoughts were cut off by his whisper. “Can I kiss you?”

You almost jumped out of your skin at his question and you couldn’t even think of how to respond. “I- what did you say?” You couldn’t even look at him when you spoke.

“Sorry, I don’t know why I asked like that. It’s just all I can think about right now honestly. Wait that sounds bad. Like I’m not just thinking about kissing you, but like, I’m thinking about you, all the time, including now, and right now, that includes kissing you,” he blurted out.

He thinks about you? All the time? You finally looked back to him and his eyes were locked on yours. He thinks about kissing you? You had to admit you had thought about the same a fair share of times. You had imaged what it would feel like when his lips touched yours. Your gaze traveled from his eyes to his lips and back up.

He shifted closer and whispered again, “Can I?”

You opened your mouth to respond but no noise came out, so you just nodded your head. Your heart was thumping out of your chest, but you wanted this so bad.

He slowly leaned in, cupping your face. His hands felt so warm and comforting on your cheeks, his thumb lightly rubbing your skin. His lips landed on yours and it felt like the world around you went silent. He pulled his face back from yours slightly and ran a thumb over your lips. You reached your hands up and threaded your fingers into his hair pulling him back in for another kiss. The kiss that followed was more needy than the first. You tilted your head to deepen the kiss and felt his tongue running across your lower lip. His tongue entered your mouth and you felt his hands release from your face and fall to your sides, lightly squeezing you as they reached your waist. You gently tugged his hair and he released a shaky breath you didn’t realize he was holding.

The two you broke apart from the kiss and Alex rested his forehead on yours. Your hands continued to play with his hair, twirling the ends with your fingers. Your lips still tingled from the contact with his. There was so much on your mind you wanted to say to him in this moment, but you felt breathless and the words wouldn’t come up. He stayed silent as well, just staring into your eyes and rubbing his thumb on your hip. You were fine staying like this for as long as you could, enjoying his warmth and his touch. Words could come later.

So for those unaware, dasnerth is apparently banned from Karl & MrBeast challenge, accord to the discord message he showed today (1/29/2024), (which notably is from 8/30/2023)

basically, as it stands, almost all the "content" you provide by being in a video almost always gets cut out because you're generally pretty toxic, you take the gameplay extremely seriously which makes your time on-screen inherently destructive / toxic. If you are genuinely super interested in not being blacklisted, if you could just refrain from being toxic we can lift the blacklist. It would also mean reporting any exploits instead of abusing them.

I've seen in response, certain people claiming that this is unfair, that he needs to be defended, or that this will inevitably lead towards toxicity towards people like Sapnap/Punz/Hannah.

This is not true, and I think people need to understand that there is a line between being competitive and being toxic to be around and effectively unwatchable and making others uncomfortable.

First, take note for a moment that Dasnerth has been banned for well over 5 months, and despite being very clearly and flatly told he's unwelcome, he's not only still stalking the discord to try to join stuff, but also then turned to twitter to kick up a fuss about the ban still being enforced.

This is pretty telling of him as a person. He's clearly been told that he's blacklisted and unwelcome, and five months later he's still trying to sneak in. That is a very clear indication of failing to respect boundaries, feeling entitled to participate in contests, and being unable to take no for an answer.

Putting that aside though, you can still clearly draw lines between taking competition seriously and being a toxic asshole in a game. I think a really good example of this is actually, weirdly enough, 5up's lobbies.

If you don't know 5up, he's a guy who plays among us. When he was starting out, he often played with what were called "sweat lobbies". These lobbies often devolved into yelling, shouting, insults, etc. 5up was noteworthy for generally not falling to that level. You can watch how awful of a viewing experience this is here. These lobbies are very competitive, and also suck so bad 5up left despite generally being willing to tolerate a lot of bullshit.

Contrast this to his later lobby that he built with Hafu, a very experienced streamer with a much calmer vibe. The morning lobbies that they built are known for being relatively serious and competitive, but not being toxic messes. Here's a good example, In this game 5up played an amazing crewmate much like the XQC, and caught Steve and Tina (Tinakitten) as imposters. Tina's distressed but not angry or being mean, and Steve compliments him on figuring out! It's a complete flip of the above. People sometimes yell and get excited, throw a bit, or get a bit salty, but it's nothing like what you see above with the constant screaming and insults. People from other lobbies that are more chaotic come in and are generally surprised by how seriously they take stuff.

To go even further, 5up also plays in the stell lobbies, which are very competitive and take the game very seriously. Listen to a meeting in the stell lobbies. Nobody is yelling, even when directly accused. They all remain calm and polite. They're still playing the game very seriously, they're playing to win, but nobody's being toxic or mean.

There's a difference between being competitive in a fun way, where you take a game seriously and try to win, and just being an asshole and disregarding good sportsmanship. It's perfectly valid for contests to ban players for violating good sportsmanship and abusing exploits. Technoblade was a very competitive person, but even when he's being teasingly toxic to squidkid for example, it's clearly in good fun. The two of them became friends. There's a fundamental level of respect there, and nobody is going over the top.

So yeah, while we don't have the specific behavior cited, it's perfectly valid for an event to ban someone for being toxic, and no, banning someone for being toxic isn't bait or eliminating competitiveness. It's just showing an asshole the door.
