Last one before I attempt to sleep. I don't want to hear the word kindness in relation to ofmd again it's just a word now. They were kind. Maybe for a while. But they weren't when it mattered. You can't convince me that the way they sent Izzy off was "kind".

I feel horrible for the people that identified and saw hope in this character. All of the people that were harassed for so much as writing about him. Despite whatever narrative purpose his death served, it's so cruel the way things turned out. I hope y'all are okay.

Remember that art prompt piece where I made Conductor a pirate? Well, the art prompt after that was Ocean Exploration, so I decided to continue the pirate AU saga! This time, I brought in the little Hat child who... well, needed a hat. So she took Conductor's! It's a great hat, I don't blame her.

Hey, so y'all may have seen the convo I've had with another blog recently, and I just want to give the disclaimer that the original post is absolutely still correct and me discussing not exactly the right topic in the tags in response to it was correct to point out as wrong.

That being said, something that's been increasingly bothering me especially since my partner pointed it out, is the conversation on the definition of 'Zionism'. I've done extra research and from what I've seen, anti-Zionist / Zionist isn't the most clear label to use since the zionism itself doesn't have a hard set definition. The varied definitions include, but are not limited to:

believing Israel should be the Jewish homeland

believing that Jewish people should have a homeland at all / designated safe place to live

supporting Israel's development

thinking that Israel should exist

supports the Israeli government / military

However, the existence of Israel and support of its development, government, and military inherently support Palestinian genocide. To echo this creator's video, an ethnostate where Jewish people can live together safely sounds ideal. But, as stated, "creating an ethnostate is just a fucking beeline to engaging in colonialsim".

So, yeah, I already started to disagree with what op had said about the definition of Zionism since they basically said that it's "Zionism is X, not Y". In reality, from what I've researched, it's more like "Zionism is X but it can be XXY, XYX, XYY, XYZ, XZZ, XZX, XZY" (yes ik some of those look like chromosomes). Now, they did say there's complexity with this, but I still feel comfortable using this analogy since they said the following:

"Zionism doesn't mean support for the war or for any other given Israeli government policy, or opposition to establishing Palestine as a state - it's basically just the belief that Israel should exist".

However, at the end of the day, most if not all versions of X still lead back to genocide and oppression of the Palestinian people at the end of the day. In fact, it was the "just the belief that Israel should exist" that my partner pointed out that initially tipped me off to the issue with what op had said.

I gave benefit of the doubt bc it's not like I'm the expert on Zionism and know that it's common to see terms misused. But now the situation is more clear to me and I need to speak up on it because then I'd be complicit myself.

Year Zero The dragon fight on Evo occurs mid-September, after which Grian leaves the Server to train with the Greater Watchers (One and Two). (Note: Joe is there, Grian just occasionally sees Herobrine's eyes.) The Evolutionists begin to gradually leave the Server just over a month after Grian leaves (mid- to late-October). They have all left by the end of the year.

Year One Grian (now dubbed Xelqua) spends the entire year training with One and Two. Late January: Grian speaks with Joe for the first time. (Note: Joe has not yet lived through Hermitcraft alongside Grian, but he's known Grian for at least a decade, and quite possibly centuries. (Just how old is Herobrine, after all?)) Mid-February: Far Future!Grian begins traveling back in time to periodically meet up with Mumbo. (Notes: A. He lacks a physical form because of time travel, but he's from a far enough future that the form he projects is believably Grian, not a humanoid mass of eyes. (He uses Watcher powers to interact with the world [i.e. building] and avoids physical contact.) B. It has been so long since Evo (and probably since moving on from Hermitcraft) that his memory is fuzzy, so he avoids talking about Evo. (Mumbo comes to the misconception that Grian just doesn't want to talk about it. This later helps Present!Grian because Mumbo brushes off when he dodges questions.)) This continues through mid-May of year three. Mid-September (exactly one year since Grian left Evo): Grian gets the tattoo. Present!Grian meets Future!Grian for the first time. (Notes: This is the only time Future!Grian talks to Present!Grian like a normal person. They set ground rules for interacting when crossing their own timeline. The tattoo consists of a mock-up of the Watcher emblem (missing its corners) to symbolize Grian's age before becoming a Watcher. A line is added every year afterward.)

Year Two Xelqua is training with One and Two for the entire year. Far Future!Grian travels back in time to periodically meet up with Mumbo over the course of the year. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September.

Year Three Far Future!Grian travels back in time to periodically meet up with Mumbo until mid-May. Xelqua is training with One and Two until late May, after which he arrives in Mumbo's solo world. Mid- to Late-July: Season 6 of Hermitcraft starts and Grian becomes a Hermit. Early August: "Faith (Before There Was Made a God)" oneshot takes place. Grian learns that Xisuma is a follower of Xelqua. "“Faith” Is a Fine Invention" oneshot wherein Grian trains with Joe occurs within a week later. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September. Early to mid-November: "Sorting Through My Life's Debris" oneshot occurs wherein Grian meets Evil Xisuma for the first time.

Year Four Mid-March: Evil Xisuma is banned from Hermitcraft. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September. Look at all this free real estate...

Year Five Early February: Scar snippet. (This part is important to the overall story, but it's still too short to upload to ao3. Maybe someday... It will be vaguely alluded to in the meantime.) Late February: Season 6 of Hermitcraft ends and season 7 begins. (Note: Evil Xisuma manages to sneak in during the world transfer.) The Nether of the Hermitcraft Server is reset in mid- to late-June. Early July: "Look Into My Eyes (Tell Us All Your Fears)" oneshot occurs. Using the room built in that oneshot, Grian checks on EX [Xavier] at least once a month. (Although he tries to come every other week, Grian and EX are both worried that too frequent/routine of visits would raise suspicions.) This continues through the end of season 7. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September.

Year Six Third Life starts in mid- to late-April. The oneshot "Into the Void of Sight (His Own Reputation)" is marked as having occurred here because it focuses on Third Life, but it covers moments from the beginning of Hermitcraft season 7 through the end of Third Life. Mid-June: Season 7 of Hermitcraft ends, and season 8 begins roughly a week later. "Blessed by a Curse" oneshot occurs in late June. "Old, New, and Similar Faces" oneshot is listed afterwards chronologically, although it consists of two parts -- one before "Blessed by a Curse" and one afterward in early July. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September. Late September: Last Life starts. Late October: The moon begins to grow. Late December: "Two Seconds to Midnight" oneshot (currently unposted but coming soon!). Season 8 ends.

Year Seven Early March: Hermitcraft season 9 starts. (Author note: This is a long time for the Hermits to be stuck on the Hermitheus, which leaves the opportunity for oneshots of either Hermits on the ship, Hermits traveling to solo/other Servers, or I simply move the beginning of season 9 back a couple of months. Thoughts?) Mid-June: Double Life starts. There is a oneshot drabble planned here that is important to the story, but it is currently too short for ao3. Grian's tattoo is updated in mid-September. Late October: Hermits cross through the rift onto the Empires Server. There is a yet-unnamed but nearly complete oneshot here. Early December: The Hermits that went through the rift return to Hermitcraft, bringing a few members of the Empires Server with them. Late December: The Empires Server members return home.

Quick question but have you seen the picture of Arven down at Sada’s lab? Cuz when I first found it in game I legit just sobbed because I felt so bad for Arven.. also if it isn’t spoilery, could you give ur thoughts on the Professors?

Since I have now finished the main story and it's been an entire month (i'll still tag it as spoilers), I can go all out here.

I saw it - IN FACT, when I first went into the lab where you first met Arven, I was looking around, and noticed there was a photo frame that was empty there, I was like, "HELLO????"

And later on, when I went back to the lab in Area Zero to check out everything else, I noticed the picture of Arven and Maschiff there and I just about went, "OH NOOOOOO"

LIKE, THAT'S SO FUCKING SAD.

That's all Sada (since I had Scarlet) had to keep her motivated since she was focusing so much on her work, LIKE...the way she said she needed more time, that she couldn't focus on her work and also keep an eye on Arven. Not to mention, the Koraidon she had in her possession sometime before Arven's birth. AND THEN HER HUSBAND JUST LEFT HER. LIKE....bro, what the hell. (just reverse everything in Violet so you can apply it to Turo - and it's still the same situation)

Nothing really excuses Sada/Turo from neglecting Arven, but it certainly does explain the circumstances that led to this, especially when you have the system in place to prevent the time machine from being shut down. Like, of course the AI would see more logic instead of letting emotions control them as Sada/Turo have, given their circumstances and (possible) desperation.

I truly believe it was only until after they protected the passive Koraidon/Miraidon from the aggressive one and took a mortal wound from it to realize that they made such a serious mistake. But by then, it's already too late. Nothing can be done about it, because they're dying.

So the AI is left with the aftermath, since by this point, they have their own sentience that leaves them conflicted. Again, the AI sees things more logically, and Sada/Turo's first personal experience with Koraidon/Miraidon was with one that was docile and smaller (when you compare it to the more aggressive one).

My personal headcanon at this point that is starting to ring more and more truth is that the Koraidon/Miraidon first caught was a baby, which allowed it to effectively get domesticated without any issues. Like a feral kitten having an easier time getting socialized, versus a feral adult cat.

Honestly, I just think it's tragic, because Arven is left with the entire burden of dealing with all this, without any way of getting full closure, beyond finding out that yes, his parents did in fact love them. They were absolute idiots and their parenting was terrible, but that doesn't change the fact that they loved him.

And if they had the chance, they would've gone back to him, but they can't. They're dead. He's alive - this is what he'll have to deal with the rest of his life. Things happen, I'm sure Arven is just relieved to know that he wasn't hated despite it all. But obviously, he's going to need a lot of support and therapy (like the rest of us, GOD DAMN).

Anyways, Arven deserves better, I still want to fight Sada/Turo, but I don't outright hate them. I genuinely like the angle the story went with, because you don't HAVE to be evil to do shit like that. Sometimes, things happen, and it just sucks.

But at least Arven isn't alone, and we were able to help out his Mabosstiff. And honestly, I'm good with that in the grand scheme of things (in terms of the experience I had with Scarlet).

(keep in mind Black and White is still my favorite game, and N Harmonia is my first crush, so I already know what the other end of terrible parenting and hatred looks like, and that's Ghetsis)

(I am honestly glad that despite the similarities, Arven doesn't have the exact same backstory as N)

i have blown off all of my school responsibilities for the day because this week has been ungodly hectic for me and i was so far behind in my readings that there was no way to get caught up in time for quizzes/an exam i have so i just bullshitted my way through it and i'm going to make terrible grades on everything but also, i got to spend time writing and reading again today which i haven't had time to do in a while and i have really enjoyed it

god anon i actually relate to that a lot, no i get it and tho it might be partly the fault in way your brain convinces you to think but i can't truly blame you, it's not like you suddenly wake up one day and convince yourself that no one is capable of loving you, it's the experiences that mould you to think that way and there might have been a good reason why you came up to that conclusion. You at least now have a clearer view of where and how things went wrong and if you cannot change them now maybe take it as a lesson, you're wiser and more aware now so it'll be okay trust me
