Your relationship had been a struggle for a long time. You were still a human and now you were moved to Volterra to live with the vampire royalty. It was all so much, but so was your blossoming love for Jane. Your dear Jane. Jane whose main priority in life was protecting the kings and working. It was all that she had ever known, and you couldn’t even blame her for that. But Jane had started to open up to you as time went on. She talked to you about the most mundane things in her life but in truth you could have listened to her for hours.  

Aro hadn’t loved the idea of Jane finding her mate. He was so protective of the girl that he had found hundreds of years ago. And you didn’t make this protectiveness any easier. Quickly Aro had found out that his powers didn’t work on you. Reason for this wasn’t clear but after a bit of convincing Aro accepted you to move to Volterra to get to know Jane better.  

“My love...” Jane had the voice of an angel and that was the only thing that could wake you up from your sleep without making you pissed off.  

You let out a non-committal groan and opened your eyes.  

“I’m sorry but I need to go to work. There has been a problem...” Jane being evasive made you sit up in worry.  

“What’s wrong?”  

“I can’t talk about it yet, just stay here until I get back, okay?”  

You didn’t have time to answer until your mate had left the room leaving you alone on the cold bed.  

With a bit of hesitation, you laid back down and slowly fell back asleep.

You were thrown into a small simple room, with a tiny table, chair and a bed, if you could call a mattress with a pillow a bed.  

It was a while before you saw anyone but when you finally saw a person you didn’t assume it would be Jane. Your dear Jane.  

“Jane! My love! What’s going on?!” You asked, hurrying to the door trying to reach your love.  

“Don’t..., I know what you did.”  

The love that you had come so used to was gone from her eyes. Her eyes were pooling with venom and her eyes were dark and sad.  

“What are you talking about?” You asked while feeling the anxiety rising up to the surface.  

“Don’t play dumb! You were the only one I told about the plans! Aro was read everyone's minds already! It has to be you so just admit it please!” 

Jane’s yells bounced off the walls and for the first time looking at her you didn’t see your love. You saw a terrified and angry young woman, who could case you more pain than you could ever imagine. Was this what most people saw when looking at your mate? Danger? Pain?  

“Are you talking about the Romanians? Is this all about that!”  

Jane had told you about Aro’s plan to kill the rest of the Romanian coven, but all the details she had told you were now erased from your mind by time.  

“Yes, it is, so just confess!” Your normally calm Jane, she was panicking.  

You didn’t have anything left to say. You were confused, scared, angry..., alone. Your only ally in the castle, your dear Jane, had left you.  

“Okay..., if that’s what you want...,” Jane’s words were ominous, and your stress level rose to the roof.  

Then the pain started. The pain that Jane had promised you would never feel. The blinding, fiery pain. You couldn’t feel your body anymore, it was just pain. Until it all went away...

You finally opened your eyes. You woke up back in your bed and for a second it all seemed like a bad dream. You took a deep breath letting yourself sink into the mattress. But your peace was interrupted when you took a look around the room. 

Jane was curled into a corner of the room, eyes glued to you. Her sad eyes. Her black eyes pooled with venom.  

You couldn’t look at her, not right now at least, so you got up from the terribly comfortable bed and walked straight to the bathroom locking it behind you.  

You looked like death. Tired and angry, but you couldn’t do anything about that just yet.  

“I’m really sorry..., you have to believe me, my love. We really thought that it was you...” Jane’s words behind the door didn’t make you feel any better. And to make sure you didn’t lash out you stayed quiet. You had all the right to be quiet after screaming your throat raw.

But he will let the child explore its surroundings, especially in nature.

He is the fun dad, like all the kids love him.

But he can be low key scary when serious/angry but other than that he's chill yk.

John is child's favourite uncle, and it thinks Mycroft is low key scary.

It's the only reason why Sherlock isn't on the streets.

7/10 father, he's like broke, smokes way too much, also his line of work isn't the safest (he got arrested and almost killed someone) but he will try and be careful.

He's an amazing father, he's really caring and soft.

He might spoil the child on a rare occasion but nothing too much.

Also if he thinks he'll endanger himself being sherlock's partner or like assistant idk but whatever he is to sherlock during working hours, he'll quit.

He doesn't trust sherlock with his child, like at all, he thinks sherlock will drop it or something.

10/10 father, he makes the child his first priority and shouldn't get shot death regarding his line of work.

But now appearantly Ferid can eat vampires and absorb their strenght? If this was some universal but very difficult thing for any vampire to do, then I wouldn't be this salty. Also one of my favourite things about Ferid as an antagonist was, that power-wise he was on the weaker side. Despite being 'weak' he was still a major threat. He made up for his lack in actual fighting power with smarts and immaculate planning. But now he's another uber-strong genius. C'mon we already had Shikama and Rigr for that department. Bleh.

They then went into a ‘Lock Museum’ and gained an ivory key and looked at all the locks there. i have complicated feelings with the clone wars series. on the one part i like most of it and i think it's a pretty good way of expanding on most characters and get to know them. however, ive never liked anakin's arc of descent into the dark side. i feel like it was made too obvious (yes, im thinking about the mortis vision into the future). i also didn't like that he got violent with padme, since to me (1)

(2) the chokehold in mustafar is an important milestone, the first time he lets the dark side override his love for padmé. it's a big moment, the first time he lays hands on her, the first time she is no longer the most important thing. it does some good things, such as the deception arc ("what else has the council been hiding from me" yadda yadda), to show that anakin's disappointment and mistrust in the council is not a thing that appears in a single day, and it also shows all the different (3) ways in which palpatine has a hold on anakin and influences him, that's fine. but i didn't quite like how they turned something that was more of a "you're taking slow steps towards this direction and you're blind to it, you can't see it, and no one around you is seeing it or helping you with it either" into a "there have been multiple clues of what you'll become such as A LITERAL VADER MASK IN A VISION and you've ignored them i guess". also (4) i dont like the satine thing with obiwan, what do you MEAN you would have left the order for her you barely KNOW HER obi wan and you are the BEST JEDI EVER get outta here. never liked that. i liked her just fine, and loved their banter, just not that part of their relationship. sorry to burden you with this i send you way too many asks and tag you in too many things anyway i love you have a good day you're my favourite ao3 writer byee

yeahhhhh you've articulated a couple of my least favorite parts about TCW haha especially the clovis arc, since i agree anakin's violence was not domestic until he fell to the dark side. it was the last, most extreme, most clear evidence that vader had totally wiped away anakin and anakin's priorities, yk? satine is also so badly treated by the narrative, she could have been done so much better.

in general i just like the early seasons of the show better, like s1-4, but my frustrations with filoni are well known lmao and i think things were better when lucas was more heavily involved. he had a strong shaping influence early on and the result was a fun kids-action-adventure-genre tv with my fav star wars characters. he doesn't constantly frame the jedi order as narrative antagonists, lets put it that way haha

I think its very interesting how god is a cookie cutter bad/abusive parent (i'm having a course on the psychology of good and bad parenting and holy smokes the amount of red flags the father has) that thought does also bring up the interesting psychology on how parentified Lucifer is. Like instead of raising the archangels himself he tasks his kid who's barely any older than the others to guide and raise 4 kids that arent his own by being a mentor with an emotional distance close enough but not enough to be a father to them. Thats gotta be painful, especially Michael and Lucifer since they seem to be the closest to having a father son bond or Lucifer who wants to love unconditionally but has to restrain cuz yk he's a mentor, not family. Also makes me wonder, did the archangels ever see god as a genuine father? Like not THE father but A father in the family bond sense

(contains a little bit of discussion on the kinds of abuse found in fundamentalist circles - it's pretty vague but i'm not sure how to tag it, so wanted to give a head's up!)

that really is the kind of dynamic i want to portray with them, as i view heaven, in context of gabriel's story, to reflect the pain and suffering perpetuated in fundamentalist households/communities. it's a reading i find very critical to gabriel's character and how the narrative is structured, so i wanted to carry that through with lucifer and the other archangels. and just like you say, lucifer is seen by god as an extension of himself - just slightly older than the archangels, especially by immortal terms, lucifer is given the responsibility of their development and overseeing their growth as god immediately becomes preoccupied with further populating his new universe. lucifer took to the work because he loved them so deeply, he wanted to see them thrive, but truly it wasn't a burden he was equipped for given his own limited experience. naively he had to do all he could to maintain his role model status, he constantly concerned himself with setting the right example, but he also could become overly volatile at times because he really wasn't that much different from them. they actually matured together, with michael becoming particularly close with him because lucifer, doing his job so well, was everything michael wanted to be. he was proud to be lucifer's second, he saw him as the ideal...but like so often happens, the family splintered. lucifer saw evil in it and grew to understand what he had been molded in. and it fell apart.

lucifer rebelled against the father's law and was cast out. michael became the model son, burying himself in the faith, embracing fundamentalism, and denouncing the evil, sinful nature of lucifer despite how he had once loved him. raphael became a peacekeeper, always tending to everyone's emotions and giving little regard to his own - his only priority is maintaining harmony, wanting to never again see anyone go through what they once did with lucifer. uriel became a recluse, withdrawn and given entirely over to his work, his study, he stays out of the way so much that many in the host of heaven forget there even is a fourth archangel, and he just quietly does as god asks of him. then gabriel is the popular public face, faithful but much warmer than michael, projecting an image of absolute radiance to cover up knowing he's different, knowing that lucifer had vaguely approached him before the fall. their illusion has been shattered by lucifer's loss, his absence tears at their family like a ghost, oppressive, unrelenting, always just out of sight but impossible to broach. there is so much evil here, each of them trying to put it off solely onto lucifer and told so many lies about him in his estrangement that they begin to believe them on some level. any pain their family had to endure, any distress they've felt at the dissent, any anxiety they have about their happy lives giving way, is all pinned on lucifer. and so the answer then, is keep the faith, work hard, think always of lucifer and strive to be everything he was not, but above all...be grateful for god's love.

i don't think angels have the same ideas of familial relationships, only thinking of each other as siblings when made in a set and not really having the concept of a true "parent" since they all come from the same source....but, like i mentioned in the previous ask about lucifer's feelings on having a child, he does have a similar paternal energy as god. and while something in god wants to fill this role to all things he creates, he is far too distant, far too terrifying, far too abstract and untouchable. to love him is ritualistic, and the love he returns is all-consuming yet entirely dependent on that ritual, a devouring and yet conditional love. lucifer, in sharp contrast, projected that same overwhelming love but was right there, guiding, teaching, sharing in their excitement, their wonder. he never asked to be worshiped, he did not demand specific prayer or exact behaviors, and instead his love was given freely. and so god was like the sun, beautiful and brilliant but only safe so far away where it could never burn them, while lucifer was the dawn it brought. and while i don't think they ever consciously thought of one another as family, lucifer more or less acted as the guiding force in heaven, with particular attachment to the archangels given how closely they would have worked with him. through him, the love of god was accessible, yet it was uniquely as lucifer decided to give it and shape it. so while they may not have an idea of a father in a human sense, lucifer played the part of their mentor, their protector, and their counselor...which is as close as they could ever get

I’ve skimmed through the show so I could be wrong … BUT… am I the only one confused with all the theories regarding Alaz being jealous of Asi possibly singing + annoyed about the clothes she wears?

Personally, I think it would be super out of character for him 🤷🏽‍♀️ if anything, he has been the most liberal + open minded towards the women on the show!

For the most part, he has accepted their decisions - ie. Not going out of his way to break Ruya and Yaman up etc. He is also the only one that does not infantilize the women in his life, recognizing that they can make their own decisions and only steps in when NECESSARY (ie. Cagla x Ruzgar situation and when Ruya attacked etc.). There’s only two instances where I think he has been against the decisions the women in his life make/could make.

The only time he has been against Caglas decisions is regarding her relationships post-Ruzgar attack. He fought against her getting married to Ruzgar and is against Cesur and Cagla dating … which tbh is understandable! From what his seen, Cesur is selfish, opportunistic, and a d rug dealer … so yeah?? Anyone would be scared that their sister is going to get hurt again.

The second is him lying to Asi about her being his alibi. He did it to protect her from himself bc tbh, he is a MESS … but that should have been her decision yk? But … I guess when you love someone their safety is first priority.

So yeah? I can’t imagine him getting jealous over something sooooo petty such as a job and dress 💀 if anything; it’s probs him getting jealous that someone is showing a romantic interest in her.

'incident' at her clinic, it's safe to say that her circumstances weren't exactly steady enough for her to go around developing feelings—the overwhelming guilt and fear she'd been burdened with taking priority over such simple joys. While entrapment within the manor did allow her to regain some twisted sense of stability over her life, it still remained the last place she'd expected to find love... So she's very much shocked to find her face warming up after you'd thanked her for healing you mid-match.

꒰💉꒱・At first, she'll initially justify her reaction using the excuse of adrenaline—a justified reaction, considering her life is in constant danger during matches—though her reasoning doesn't exactly hold up when it continues to happen outside of matches. Usually, she hardly even thinks whenever she examines and dresses the various wounds that survivors ꒰and hunters, on rarer occasions꒱ enter the infirmary with, nor is a big deal if she has to tend to somebody that's gotten the unlucky cold or flu. Since that's the case, and she knows that it’s  the case... Why is it that her hands seem to be slightly shakier any time she's tending to you?

꒰💉꒱・While her occupation does do wonders at giving her reasons to talk to you, being the only reliable doctor within the manor certainly does come with its fair share of disadvantages. If she's not due to participate in a match, then there's somebody stumbling over to her in need of assistance. If the ever growing queue of patients has finally been cleared, she finds herself called back into the waiting room for yet another of the Baron's twisted games. And in the miraculous cases where neither of those situations are true, she's simply far too exhausted to even entertain the thought of seeking you out.

꒰💉꒱・Unlike both Kurt and Luchino, I don't think that Emily would be totally inexperienced with dating—having had a lover or two before being forced to take up her new identity. She hardly has much of an advantage at this point, though, considering just how long its been since she's experienced any sort of romance. She's especially bad with flirting, no longer anywhere near as energetic as her younger self. 

꒰💉꒱・Any hints of her feelings are incredibly subtle and easy to miss, leaving you in for quite the shock once her true intentions are revealed. What comes across to you as a friendly reminder to use the ointment she'd prescribed to you? Well, it was really just an excuse to talk to you. Her attentiveness to your well-being, along with the various supplements and vitamins that she recommends to keep you in tip-top shape? It's far more than she'd bother doing for most other survivors, by a long shot.

꒰💉꒱・She struggles a lot with her sense of guilt while crushing on you. Despite being aware of the many misdeeds of Oletus' other inhabitants, a part of her simply can't help but feel that she just doesn't deserve to have you reciprocate her feelings. As such, there are instances where she'd subconsciously sabotage herself, pushing you away in the hopes of destroying any chances of you liking her back. At the same time, however, the idea of making you uncomfortable in her presence is one she strongly dislikes—leading to a bizarre balancing act as she both pushes you away and pulls you towards her.

꒰💉꒱・For reasons mentioned in the previous headcanon, I don't see Emily as the type of person that would go out of her way to confess, though she would come clean about her growing affections for you if you decided to ask her about it. After all, it'd really only be counterintuitive for her to go and deny them if you've already started to suspect her—and she'll respect whatever decision you come to. Sure, receiving treatment might become a bit awkward if you decide to reject her, but the both of you ꒰seemingly꒱ have all the time in the world to move past it. She's not the type to hold such a thing against you, and she'd be absolutely honored if you decide to give her a chance.

Cerberus was acting strange, and Kalego noticed it.

He tries to take care of the problem but gets into bigger trouble. He didn’t keep his guard up and accidentally got his right hand bitten by one of his Cerberus. 

Furious, he disciplined them. They vanished into thin air as their master unsummoned them.

The guard dog thought to himself, looking at the injured wound. It was indeed a massive bite wound. It was indeed painful, he winced with an aching tone. He was sure that everyone would notice it but luckily he was alone in the teacher's room. Then the door squeaked, signaling him that someone was coming. He thought it was either that stupid senior or that red-haired cat–

But he seemed to be lucky that day because Momomoki was the one who entered the empty teacher's room. Her eyes widened in shock and gasp. As she notices the wound a worried expression takes over as she tries to approach Kalego.

“Kalego-sensei! What happened? How did you get injured? Are you ok?!” She worried, trying to check his wound from an appropriate distance. She tries to not infiltrate Kalego’s personal space so as not to offend him. 

“I-I’m-” his flinches alarmed Momomoki. He gave up as the pain overcame him. He sighed before telling the whole experience, “My Cerberus was acting up, and when I try to confront it… does this.” exposing his wounded right hand. Looking at it stirs up Momo’s worries. 

“Here, here, you take a seat first.” She assures the guard dog that he was indeed defeated to fight back. He took a sit on his desk chair while Momomoki took the medkit from the cabinet and went back to Kalego.

“Here, I will apply the meds and I will use a spell to heal it quickly.” Momomoki got nervous at some point but her priority is to make sure Kalego is ok rather than attend to her feelings for now. 

Kalego sighed, wincing as Momomoki quickly pat the wound with a cotton bud that was already applied with ointment. Momomoki stopped at one point and took a glance at him. But Kalego reassures her which leads Momomoki to continue. 

It was… silence, indeed. No disturbances from those pesky teachers who always found their way to his nerves but only Momomoki (And Balam) whom he found comfort as well. It wasn’t long before Momomoki bandaged his whole right arm. 

Kalego then took a long glance before shifting his face to hers as she was focused on his hand. Come to think of it, he never realized that Momomoki could be this attentive, sweet, and…

“Beautiful…” Kalego mumbled without him noticing or processing what he said, which caught the attention of the basic-magic teacher. Momonoki turns her head around to Kalego in shock.

“E-excuse me?” “Hmmm?”

Kalego got confused which was noticed by Momonoki who clears her throat in embarrassment. Who quickly away shakes her thoughts, “N-nothing, Kalego-sensei, I-It must be have been the wind.” Her lips trembled which made Kalego worry. (But he technically doesn’t know)

So, do you think that writing( and reading ) so much about sex activities kinda affects your sex life with your bf? Like it slightly takes away the speciality of it all because you’re so wrapped around it in your everyday life? Don’t get me wrong I love having sex with my bf but sometimes my mind just drifts away and think of my anime men or it may feel more indifferent because I’m so used to reading extreme scenarios in here that can’t be applied there. I think I may have developed a sex addiction 😅

I have a very weird relationship with sex to be honest! My current bf is the only bf I’ve ever had and the only person I’ve had sex with and we’ve been together for seven years. It took a few months of dating for us to finally do it and then it was constant and like most people it just sort of slowed down.

When I got into writing we were still having sex but it was rare, definitely wasn’t a priority for me.

I started getting a bit insecure in the last year or two because I really don’t like my body and I feel like he deserves better bc of how I look LOL so I don’t really enjoy sex anymore. He isn’t massively sexual either so that has kind of come to a stop for now!

I was really in a bad place about it. I wanted to be doing it because people around me were so I felt weird and like something was wrong with me. I love talking abt sex and writing abt sex and thinking about it but actually doing it for now isn’t really my thing.

I think being a writer or consuming all of this is a really hard thing to navigate. Smut is on your mind 24/7 and when you make friends doing the same thing it’s like you can’t escape it. I’ve experienced jealousy and so many negative feelings about sex bc of my expectations and I guess the pressure of what my friends tell me about their own sex lives it made me really really miserable for a while.

But it really isn’t a priority for me right now and I’m fine with that. It’s not something I want to be a stressor, I don’t think it’s worth it. It is was it is for right now, yk? Things might change, my confidence may return. But if it doesn’t I’m okay with that too!

ughhh oh my god brand new day... essay incoming that is mostly just me rambling about things i have thought much about but have never put into words

as per usual, i have lots to say about this one. shockingly, i didn't give roxy too much social backstory outside of high school just because i didn't want to get over caught in explaining like. her whole life story? she's not anti-social obviously, but mag and dani really were her only good friends. while roxy had many acquaintances, like cait in the Minnesota chapter!, she didn't really have anyone besides BND she'd hang out with on the reg. this kind of forced her into the social outside i guess? but only because she was bunched in with the other school musicians not because she was bitchy or anything lol. she never really made her personal life a priority unless it was music related, so mag and dani were really all she needed!

i think i briefly mention it in one of the chapters but jo and camille are really her first pair of good, close female friends

as for clique navigation, i'd imagine she wasn't too good at learning the ropes at first, especially if other kids were already shoving her into the musician box before she was able to pinpoint them as a jock or stoner or whatever but overall didn't really affect her. she was more the flying under the radar type. of course this changes when she meets btr later on but that's how i imagine school was for her the first year :)

i'm not sure she'd place herself in any category, that's not super punk yk, but she definitely wasn't a lone wolf. she was more reliant on making connections in the local music community so BND could play gigs and stuff. if that meant she got super buddy buddy with a kid that had a basement for them to play a show in, that's what she'd do, but it was mostly just community connections for her.

if i went to school with her i'd definitely peg her into the musician + artsy type groups. hanging out with mag and dani would also swerve her into the smoker category lol. i tried to include that in the story when she grabs a lighter on the way out the door when she and james go to the show in duluth but got lazy and only had them have the conversation about it in my head. sorry! she used to be a social smoker just as a byproduct of being in the punk community... never her own cigarettes but if someone offered her a hit she wouldn't say no. she used to think it was really cool. girl! stop that! they're so bad for you! we see a bit of this in the rockstar au lol

after the band break up, she was def going lone wolf mode in hopes of protecting herself from ever being played again. not that she was intentionally going out of her way to avoid other people, but she wasn't attempting to form lasting connections outside of sitting next to someone in class or meeting anyone outside of class like she would mag and dani. btr are really the first friends she'd made since the split.

as for the guys idkkkk they all give such jock energy its hard for me to imagine them in any other category. hate to do that to them but really that's just how they present themselves both in public and private. they all seem like social butterflies, even if sometimes they get a bit awkward in certain instances, but they're hard not to like. they're not rude, they're super cute, they play a big time sport, they always help out their friends... who wouldn't like them!

hi! so like, i might try writing smut soon enough (because why the hell not amirite?) so like, is there any advice you could give me? like DOs and DONTs, tools that could be useful to avoid orthographic errors etc etc (im used to using chat GPT to look at my horribly, horribly written texts and correct them, but i've got a feeling it will straight up censor it, and english's not my first language, so anything that would make my dirty dirty texts into dirty clean text would be dope)

I'm sorry but because you're an ageless blog I'm not going to give actual smut-writing advice, but ig it's okay to give general writing advice?

Just a reminder to everyone, if you're a minor please do not interact with me or my posts!

In all honesty I don't really know what I even do when I write, the words just sort of appear and I'm like 'yep, that works', but that's not the most useful advice, lol

I envision the story I want to read, and then I write it how I want to read it. I hope that makes sense

I guess my main advice would be to find your own niche, like, are you a dialogue or an 'action' based writer? Ofc it's good to be good at both but people have their own strong suits. For me, for example, I'm much better at descriptive writing than dialogue so that's what I focus most of my writing around

People also have their own unique styles and formatting to their writing - I feel as though mine is pretty distinctive with certain types of vocabulary and paragraph spacing/grammar/etc - so I guess it would be good to find a style that works good for you! For example, don't stick to lengthy paragraphs of immense detail if that doesn't come naturally to you, etc

My absolute top priority when writing is to not tell the readers what's going on, but to show it. Sometimes 'They felt X/Y/Z' is a useful tool for emphasising a particular point, but sometimes it detracts from the writing overall.

As an example: 'He felt as if his heart was going to burst from his chest...' (This can be good when used in the right moments, but if that's the only descriptor the writing loses a bit of life to it)

Compared to: 'His heart hammered painfully against his taut ribs as he gasped uselessly for breath...' (This is showing rather than just simply telling, and is how I personally prefer to write a majority of the time)

It's also important not to repeat yourself unnecessarily - it can be good to repeat when you're really trying to emphasise a point, but sometimes writing can stagnate and become less engaging? It's very difficult to find the right balance but it makes a world of difference to a piece of text

For dialogue (arguably my weakest skill) the best piece of advice is that you cannot write accurately how people in real life talk. When we talk we mostly fill out thoughts with nonsense and fluff out the main point - you can't write this because the readers will become disengaged. There's an important balance to find between being too formal for speech, maintaining the main point of the conversation, and ensuring the characters still sound like themselves. I tend to really try and put myself in the characters heads, think about what they'd actually say, and then 'translate' it into a written format that works whilst keeping that characters traits.

The way I 'learnt' to write was through reading, and I'd really recommend you read in your desired writing language (I'm guessing English from your ask) to see the typical structures and vocabulary of that language when written down. Direct translations don't always work, especially with literature, because there are phrases and sayings and common slights-of-tongue that are language specific, so I think it's really useful to get used to that language in its own written form, yk?

I forgot!! But it's also important not to tell your readers everything. Let them fill some gaps in on their own - they don't need to be told how a line of dialogue was said if it's obvious in the speech and context, and they don't always need to know how a character moved across a room or what their hands are doing 100% of the time. Sometimes the best parts of stories are the bits that go unsaid :)

Sorry, this is rambling and probably not very useful, but I've never given writing advice before.

Writing really is all down to the author finding their own 'voice' within their texts, and I'm sure you're writing will be great!!! I hope this helps! :))

Sorry to bother you again- You're just the only person I know of who has Draxum knowledge I can ask stuff to (also you're just fun to talk to) I've run into a problem where I can't quite figure out how pre-reformation-Draxum would actually treat one of his creations if he got to keep one. A lot of people immediately assume he would have been horribly abusive, but based on how he treats the goyles, I don't think he'd be as abusive as everyone seems to think. I'm asking, because I keep trying to write flashback scenes/backstory for my OC, but whenever I do, it doesn't feel right to write him as entirely uncaring about his creation. Originally, what it was going to be was that; Since mutating the turtles didn't work out because of Lou Jitsu as a variable, he uses himself as the supplier of DNA to mutate with instead. He sends his perfectly capable henchgoyles to go find him a formidable animal he can mutate into the perfect warrior. However, what they end up bringing him is an abandoned newborn kitten. (Likely because they couldn't get their hands on anything more dangerous, or they legitimately thought an alley cat would work) The developing problem is that the kitten had gotten sick soon after birth, and the mother didn't want the illness to spread to the other kittens, so she was left behind. As a result, Abby (the kitten) was already very weak when the goyles got her. Post-mutation, Abby's body couldn't handle the stress, and her heart stopped. Tiny CPR happens, Abby's revived, and life carries on. The goyles mostly raise her- the issue is, because Draxum's not exactly easy on her, he pushes her past her limits, and when she fails, she gets hit (either because abusive, or because it's him she's sparring against) one way or another, her tail either gets pulled /hard/, or she gets it stuck somewhere and ends up trying to pull it free, resulting in it getting broken. The incident gives her spinal/nerve damage, and half her tail ends up needing to be amputated. So now not only does she have problems maintaining her balance, but back pain, and temporary paralysis in her legs if she pushes herself too hard. At this point, Draxum gives up on her. He turns his attention to oozesquitos, and though he still tries on occasion to build up her strength, he still views her as a failure for not being able to work through her problems (without, yk, physical therapy- but Draxum doesn't have time for that) What I'm stuck on is that- The whole reason she ends up not being around for the series is because when the turtles destroyed his lab again, Draxum either assumed she was dead, or intentionally left her behind to die because she was of no use to him. Therefore, the next time she sees him after the events of the finale, she only knows him as the villain that created her and left her to die. She has no sense of self worth, or what real love feels like- because she was raised to be a weapon, and since she failed at that, she's nothing.

BUT THE MORE I TRY AND WRITE IT LIKE THIS, THE MORE IT FEELS OUT-OF-CHARACTER FOR DRAXUM!!! The idea was that- deep down, he did care for her- But he didn't let himself show her any real affection because he knew it would only make her soft. His topmost priority was preventing the prophecy from coming true, and he needed a weapon against the humans to do it. He didn't have time to be a parent. He didn't even know how. If she couldn't fulfill her purpose, he was a failure, and she was his failed experiment. He didn't have any use for her, so he left her behind. (I mean, he was fully willing to off his other creations if they didn't want to join him, so why not her?) He never realized how horribly he'd messed up his own child until after his reformation, and by then he'd believed she was dead, and it was too late to make up for it.

Long rant short, do you think the way I have villain-Draxum act in the story works? Something about it doesn't feel right to me, but I'm hesitant to change things, because that leads to a lot of plot holes in the backstory, which I would then need to rewrite- and as a result, rewrite their entire dynamic, and any interactions in other fics.

Lol this actually kinda reminded me of my separated AU that I’m working on (gonna post the stories to AO3 once I’m finished with Hide and Seek). In it, Draxum raises Donnie as his son/protégé and is not very nice about it… it’s a whole thing.

Ok but to answer your question…

I think that Draxum’s affection levels for whoever he raises would depend on when he found them. You’re right, he isn’t a complete monster (we see him be… semi-decent around Huginn and Muninn), but I think he only gets like that after years of coming to grips with his disappointment and failure with the turts and Lou Jitsu. If he were to find the turtles again when they were maybe toddlers or kids, he might be more caring for them. He may grow attached to them as more than experiments, he’d truly appreciate them — because he knew what it was like to lose them.

And I’ve seen some Separated AU’s where he raises Mikey, and in most of those universes he ends up pretty compassionate and charming, mostly due to Mikey’s influence over the years. Though, I am reading some fics where that was not the case…

But, for your character’s story, I think that how you’ve described it is pretty accurate. If you want to show him more caring, maybe he’d be concerned about keeping her safe, so she’d be like a Rapunzel — overprotected and never allowed to leave him… for her own safety. OR he’d want her to be able to defend herself, so he would push her to her limits. And then, after his reformation arc, he would try to make amends with her.

But really, in the end, it’s up to you! You can decide what choices Drax makes, but you need to show WHY he chooses that. He is always capable of change, but you’ve gotta show what drives him to that change. Maybe, seeing a frail life die and barely make it back shakes him. He can’t afford losing another project like this… so he decides to give her his full attention, raise her himself rather than have his gargoyles look after her. And she starts to get better, as he spends his nights watching over her in case she has a relapse. And then, as years pass, seeing how she grows slowly makes him swell with pride… she’s come such a long way from being a mangy kitten in the rain… and suddenly, he sees her as less of a science project and more of a pupil. Maybe as she gets older, he starts getting nervous when she gets hurt because for some odd reason, he feels her pain. He cries when she does. He comforts her when she has a nightmare. He unintentionally memorizes her favourite food and her favourite colour and… starts seeing her less as a student and as… an heir? A protégé? Someone he trusts. Someone he cares for. Little by little, they grow closer. And closer. Until one day he looks at her and realizes that he hasn’t even thought about attacking humankind in years. He’s only thought of what schools she’d get into, what dress she’ll wear to Big Mama’s gala, her hobbies and interests, the fear of what will happen when she reaches the dreaded dating age, etc. She isn’t a weapon, or an experiment, or a student, or even a successor. She’s his own precious daughter.

In conclusion, everything is possible for your characters, but the real issue is finding a way to make it believable.

(On a completely separate note, I’m kind of interested to see how your character Abby would react to Mikey and the others… would she resent them, or hate them? In her eyes, would they be the “better version” of her, what she was supposed to be, but failed to become? And not only that, but they took her only family away from her?! He was her father — a terrible dad, sure, but hers!! Would she feel threatened by them? Or would she feel like maybe she’d finally found someone with common ground and understanding?

Okay now I am kinda calm about the new episodes I can post my thoughts. First the obvious thoughts

Firstly chat noir using the akumatization of his father as an excuse to beat the shit out of him as well as get all his anger and frustration out is pure gold and i love our cinnamon boy for it. AND all his friends also use it as an excuse to beat the shit out of his dad cause they all hate him. 🤌

Secondly was I suprised Kagami and Felix figured out? Tbh? No. I have posted before that Felix is smart enough that if he wanted to he could probably figure out her identity and he did and as I have said before them teaming would be the best cause of how they could work together.

But my main reason that they won't was that they had different motive. Felix does what he does for his own gain while Marinette's priority is Paris and the people of it ( I posted about it I'll reblog it later). BUT Felix has realized that obviously they had something they both wanted to kick Gabriel's butt especially after seeing how much she loves Adrien he realizes she will indeed be the best person to protect him besides the fact she is ladybug.

He just needed to show her his side of the story which he did. ( The babies are still terrifying 😭). Marinette now KNOWS but I don't think she fully realizes that Adrien is a senti-being she is now just determined to take down monarch and realizes that she needs to team up with Felix and she is willing to. ( I also talked about this before I'll reblog it)

BUT I know that's that if you have watched the episode yk but what I want to- NEED TO talk about is Chat noir. He now also has a reason to not tell Marinette his identity and I mean something that he genuinely fears. I am not sure if they go away after purifying the akuma but that doesn't matter because I am CONVINCED that Chat Blanc is being waited up for something BIG. It has to be. Chat Blanc has been put aside for too long and sure he was mentioned really vaguely at the end of season 4 but that does even start to cover how significant he is.

In a way he is a big reason for every problem kind of the source of almost ALL the problems the hero's faced. And I mean all the internal conflicts and now Chat also has a reason to fear his identity being told to the one he loves. Also although not exactly chat Blanc but close enough seeing the situation from his point of view is also big.

I am just saying that everything chat blanc related is too much to not be addressed and the sooner it's done the better. With everything the characters are discovering and learning this might be the one thing that if properly addressed might be the thing that brings them together stronger than ever building up that trust that although not talked about often is still rusted after season 4 OR if not properly addressed might be the reason for the conflict that might break them apart...again.

For everyone's sake including the characters I hope it's the first. I honestly believe that although their trust is rusted it is still grown enough for ladybug to properly communicate about chat Blanc to Chat because in season 4 it's obvious because of the sudden pressure she was unable to.

For now that's all imma say cause honestly I think it's already too long and I don't think anyone's gonna read the whole thing 😭.
