Description: Love is something that requires synchrony between both people. When there is misalignment it leads to imbalance and pain. The butterflies call back to the portrait for “XVIII. The Moon” with a warmer color pallet. Love opens us up to life but also opens us to pain. As he mourns the skull of his perhaps lover, the man is swarmed by butterflies. Butterflies are a recurring symbol of transformation, and manifestation of powerful emotion.

Had a visitor to the garden today 🦋🦋🦋 Tiger Swallowtail butterflies are meant to remind us to honour and reconnect with our natural rhythm. 🦋🦋🦋 The female Tiger Swallowtail butterflies are the ones who adorn the silvery blue crescents at the bottom of each back wing, lending to the powerful draw women feel towards the moon; and how all genders have the ability to balance between the solar (masculine/proactive) and lunar (feminine/intuitive) aspects of ones self. 🦋🦋🦋 Although it’s important to push oneself, it’s also equally if not more important to be self aware enough to know when to do so. The Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is meant to remind us of the need to take time to rest and find work/play/self balance. 🦋🦋🦋 When thinking about the Solar and Lunar in terms of colour, the yellow represents the sun; vitality, enlightenment, joy and intellect. I know this isn't necessarily an affirmation, but I've been wanting to post this anyway because it reminds me again of why I love the symbolism of butterflies so much. A butterfly is physically incapable of seeing its wings, which the rest of the world marvels at for how gorgeous they are. I think even if a butterfly was capable of seeing their wings, from their perspective, they'd probably only see the innermost part of their wings, which isn't even the part most of us find so stunning. It would take someone somehow showing that butterfly what the outer wing looks like for them to really understand. From more of a metaphorical standpoint, it's very much the same thing with us. Far too often, human beings either don't see any real beauty or worth in themselves, or, if they do, they don't think it's impressive enough to stop them from belittle themselves. Most of the time, it takes someone else shedding a light on just how magnificent someone is before they really see their own worth, something I can say from firsthand experience. I may not know every little thing about you, but I do know that you and everyone else in the world has something amazing to offer. Saw a tiktok turning pride flags into planets.. so I thought I’d try something like that inspired by neurodivergent awareness / flags / symbols. Here’s the outcomes for ADHD & ASD, I quite like it, but it also maybe just gonna end up as another unfinished series ✨ I thought about Tourette’s for future versions.. if anyone has any wishes or something, just say so. 🦋 Transformation is here and playful blessings as I picked up a beautiful yellow butterfly from the middle of the road (it looked like a yellow fall leaf until it flickered). Put her in the garden in a flower but then the gardeners came with the blowers so brought her into the house and the playfulness and kisses began. One of my favorite sites for animal symbolism is What’s my Sign. The butterfly asks us to accept the changes of her environment and her body. The unwavering acceptance of her metamorphosis is a symbol of faith. Keep the faith as we all undergo transitions and obviously with this little one keep the playfulness.
