The Coven as a whole are very on the fence about how to take the First Warlock. Regina? She's down as curious and not much more. Saying that, the last time she was curious about someone, she wound up with a broken heart. Jayne Grey was another legacy, a Coven member by birth and she point blank refused to acknowledge her responsibility to them. Regina set out to change her mind and got much more than she could have bargained for. The truth was she had never loved anyone before, not like Jayne and even though she didn't- couldn't- show it, their break up is her greatest regret. If it weren't for Jayne, Regina never would have put herself within throwing distance of Havensdale Valley but it was. It is, for Jayne.

He's good at archery, and can speak in both English and Japanese. But because he's a dick, he typically just speaks in Japanese just to troll his classmates.. except for Poppy. He never gets to confess before she's gone. ~Quinn is their teacher! And acutely aware that her students and the staff members know she's a yokai. She's actually a Senko, so she's sort of a spirit. When she died, she just returned back to the spiritual plane. But she is never to return back to her students ever again..

Poppy - Cause of Death : Slammed against the walls of the hallways at in-human speeds. Beu - Cause of Death : Slit throat, murdered others before getting killed himself. Cause of insanity likely linked to the darkening and a photo of Poppy's corpse. Quinn - Cause of Death : Blood loss, left ear and tails cut off. Throat was slit to finish her off. Because she is a spirit, she just returned to life, perfectly fine in her home. But she became a Tenko due to her good deeds, and could not return to her students due to having tasks serving her Goddess.

Last week I went to the rec center and had to check in with my ID. Legally I have 4 names - firstname, 2 middle names (one of which is Maria which makes me seem super Catholic but I've just had it since birth) and my surname.

Anyway, lady goes, "last name maria?"

I'm like, "no, that's my middle name."

So she goes, "oh, last name _" and says my legal first name (which is a stereotypically feminine early 90s name, think 'arianna')

Me: no that's my first name. Last name is _ (giving her my legal last name, which is very Irish, think "O'Connor")

She goes "ok, wait your first name was _ (saying my FIRST middle name, which was the name my mom ALMOST gave me, think "Harper")

I'm like. "No. Full name is Arianna Harper Maria O'Connor, I have 2 middle names" and she's like "ooooooh sorry. I'm tired. So you go by Arianna?"

And my trans ass, trying so hard not to crack up, goes, "actually. I go by Rhys."

And this poor unsuspecting woman laughs and is like, "oh, ok, spelled like the cups? With an s? Or a c?"

I'm probably bright red by now cuz I'm like. "No... R-H-Y-S."

She's like, "oh, that's the French spelling right?"

And I'm pretty sure it's Welsh but at this point im just like. "...yep!"

She's like, "well at least you aren't married or we'd have a hyphen too!"

And like, I AM married, but never changed my name, or added my husband's very Spanish surname to mine, but if I had, my full name would resemble: "Rhys" Arianna Harper Maria O'Connor-Iglesias. Which makes me sound Catholic AND Hispanic (I am not).

I'm poly too and me and my gf were joking about hyphenating everything if we ever get legal documentation of our relationship, and HER last name is a very long and stereotypically Italian surname, which would give me a whole ass legal name that's basically like: "Rhys" Arianna Harper Maria O'Connor-Iglesias-Dragonetti.

Which makes me sound Catholic, Hispanic, and twice-divorced. I'm just imagining the absolutely microscopic size of the font my credit cards would have to have to fit all this. Putting this absolute slurry of nationalities on a lease. Telling my students "yes Im Mx. OconnorIglesiasDragonetti. Call me Mx Rhys tho."

The punchline on all these extremely Catholic sounding surnames and middle name of "Maria" being: I was raised Wiccan. and I use a different first name, so the only name I would ever actually use of this unholy shibboleth is my OG surname.

Anyway, the moral of the story is, I think it's long past time I change my legal name.

spoilers for professor layton and the last specter

one day i'll finally write that ~analysis about how layton treats children esp in pl4 and esp in comparison to emmy that's been in my head for literal y e a r s at this point

i'm going to actually leave some of my scattered thoughts abt it here finally. note that this is all based on the US localization.

for lack of better words, layton treats children with respect and seriously. like of course he's mindful that they're children but he takes what they say and feel with seriousness. vs emmy who's often patronizing, demeaning, or impatient (for lack of better words).

this is prob most apparent with Luke in pl4, though not limited to him.

when first told about the door puzzle, emmy goes 'aw thats so cute let's do it'. like indulging a little kid. which luke is, but i digress. EDIT: briefly checked out the jpn text in the scene and it doesn't seem like Emmy calls it cute, and her tone isn't doing it either. seems like she's just like, 'Professor, let's do it!' which is interestinf

there's a point where Luke is freaking out about the specter and the power it has and how it's corrupted his father. emmy's like 'you cant seriously believe theres actually a specter!' but Layton says to Luke 'I believe the specter has the power you say it has'. Layton doesnt believe there's an actual monster re: the specter, but he believes there is something re: the specter, and that's the important thing. and Layton furthermore immediately goes on to say he's noticed something's up with Clark, himself. Layton is listening to Luke and taking his feelings and fears seriously and is validating him -- and this is so incredibly significant bc of Luke's whole feeling like he's unable to trust anyone during the game which is incredibly related to this but a bit separate so im trying not to digress. THE POINT. is. the difference between Layton and Emmy in this regard.

i dont remember if it's the same part -- i think it might be later but maybe not -- i think it's when Luke reveals how he can tell where the specter will appear next? -- but basically Emmy's kind of upset for lack of a better word that Luke had been withholding that info and is like 'are you hiding anything else, like what the specter has for breakfast?!' or something iirc. luke mind of apologetically defends himself with 'i didnt know if i could trust you' and Layton is totally understanding

EDIT: (i removed an example bc upon further reflection it wasnt necessarily relevant. i might readd it later)

then there's the part with Jakes' son near the end iirc

also the small part nearer the beginning iirc when Luke goes chasing after the cat and Emmy&Layton are chasing after him and Emmy complains to the professor 'he's acting like a child!' and layton's like 'heh well he is a child c; '

there's also how Layton treats/interacts with the Ravens

also when first meeting Luke and Luke's opening up slightly but then Clark comes in and starts scolding him which has Luke withdraw/angry/turn away and Layton's like, "Clark, please"

there's also the cutscene when they first see the specter, where before it appears. Layton asks Luke, 'well, luke, what do you think? do you see anything?', he says no nothing, and Emmy's like 'I still have a hard time believing this. it sounds like a scary bedtime story. is this even possible?'. Layton says, 'Well, we'll soon find out.' and then Emmy goes on to say 'and a poor boy who predicts where the giant specter will appear' and Luke's unhappy about her comment

ALSO when Layton tries to go after the Specter that scene and Luke grabs onto him and tells him not to go, Layton takes the time to talk to him. same for when Luke's freaking out when the police took Arianna away. Layton puts a hand on his shoulder, gets to his level, and talks to him seriously.

this isn't bashing on Emmy btw I actually enjoy this as part of her character and it makes sense to me the difference between her and Layton in this regard. im also not saying that shes like always like this with kids either. or that it's even kid specific. Edmund is the younger brother of the late King Henry II, and uncle to King George X.

There were two other children between himself and his older brother, both taken in infancy/early childhood by the epidemic of influenza.

Edmund is happily married to his wife of nearly 70 years and enjoys relative popularity due to his lifelong activism as an outspoken conservationist, philanthropist, progressive, and easygoing nature. His brother, the King, never enjoyed such popularity, although Henry was still respected and loved for leading the kingdom and Empire through the Second World War.

The Prince is also known for his love of dogs, travel, and his intense dislike of Henry II's wife, Gwyneth.
