Day 54

Chichu Art museum and the Naoshima art houses

Up early and with time to kill before our 12.15 museum tickets Dea and I went to the beach in search of cold coffee (au lait) from the vending machines and an ocean swim bib the famous pumpkin.

Our swim was amazing but also fraught with danger thanks to all the moon jelly’s that had invaded the swimming area.

Our shop at the Mitsubishi Co-Op was an experience in navigating the old locals evident prime social hour but the scrabbled eggs and fruit yogurt breakfast was a hot was all 4.

Thankfully we could drive and park close to Chichu as it was once again unbearably hot, the architecture of the midtown was the best we have seen so far, and the James Turrell white room experience was so good that we had to do it twice.

Lunch and cake with a view in the cafe was well timed (smoked salmon bagels, chiffon tea cake and peach and apple cake) and set us up for a late afternoon rubbing around six old Japanese house that had been renovated and turned into artworks by artists.

The pitch black house by James Turrell was by far everyone’s favorite, and amazing experience which it slowly revealed itself as our eyes got used to the dark.

The collage house and the beautiful waterfall painting house came in second and third for most people.

Dinner was at a highly recommended fish restaurant where the speciality was some form of sea snail that tasted like shrimp. The grilled olive yellowtail and mackerel were elegant as was all the very fresh sashimi.

With the night air finally cool enough to explore in comfort we visited a couple of art exhibits in the port area - most Nataly the Naoshima pavilion and the red pumpkin from Kusama.

DYING MY ROOTS WITH PALTY CAFE AU LAIT CHIFFON [REVIEW]

Nothings worse than when you're roots get out of control! It's been about 3months since i dyed my hair so my roots were obviously showing so it was time to dye my hair again! Once again using a palty hair dye this time from their foam dye collection. Cafe au lait chiffon  is the lightest colour in the range i was hoping to turn the black into light brown. 

This is my second time using a foam dye from palty. I have previously dyed my hair with "custard beige" which went ok it actually it made my hair more lighter than the colour on the box (not what i was going for) and my sister has dyed her hair with "creamy caramel" which actually turned out more reddish than brown -  hence why i don't have high expectations for foam dyes. I purchased mine from ebay. best seller ever they wrap the box in wrapping paper :) 

Directions

1. Pour the base water oxide into the cup

2. pour the hair colour cream into the cup

3. using the paddle mix the two until mixture foams

note: put vaseline or paw paw ointment on your forehead, behind your ears basically around your hair line to avoid hair dye stains

4. either by sectioning your hair or putting the dye all over massage the dye into your hair like you would shampoo

5. cover with showercap and leave for 20minute+ (i strongly advise you to leave it in for for at least 40minutes) 

so light and foamy ^^ 

the day i dyed my hair i was pretty short on time so i only managed to leave it in for 25minutes although the 'recommended' time is 20 minutes it won't do much. i usually like leaving hair dye in for an hour or more to properly absorb into my hair but today i just had to make do with 25minutes. 

results

well there is pretty much no difference except in my roots. If I had the chance i would definitely have left the dye in for a good hour seriously 25minutes was not enough. Overall it turned my black roots into a sorta light brown, my hair is blended more evenly now. i don't know why it didn't work on the rest of my hair?  i guess it toned down some of the orange but not a lot. Now that i think about it this might be one of those dyes not recommended for bleached hair

did the job but didn't have great results maybe i'll try this again another time and leave it for longer - why am i reviewing all the palty products i don't like. i guarantee you the normal hair dye range is the best especially for black hair
