2022 spooky season movies:
Classics:
Bride of Frankenstein, a few Bela Lugosi and Vincent Price- Dr Phibes is awesome as far as mad scientist seeks revenge and reanimation of a deceased wife.
I always love the early German expressionism of Nosferatu and Cabinet of Dr Caligari although both those movies actually scared me, to this day. Something of the combination between the lighting effects Black and White images built sets that leaves me feeling unhinged.
I do think a favorite genre of mine is comedy/horror. A bit of the "spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down."
A favorite from the 80s, almost superior to the evil deads 💀 was Lair of the White Worm. Tons of treats via cut scenes. I'd almost say feminist horror comedy based on the imagery.
Newest find/trying to be a hip queer 40 year old, Jennifer's Body. First view, terrified. Second view...lols and rofls the whole way through.
I might try to find a rental of nope although at this point Jordan Peele's is peak horror for me.
I picked up a few shifts which means I'll be working until Nov 1st. I'll try to do some photos of costumes through out the day. I tend to like to stay in on Halloween 🎃as for me it's a bit high stress. Dia de Las Muertos 💀is more my vibe. Day of the Dead, is respectful, reflective of the last year, moving forward but acknowledging those who passed are still with us.
