Do you have any headcanons about Chris Rodriguez?
His name, for example.. I like cristobal rodríguez (I know cristian is a name in spanish too, but cristobal is more dramatic --also, rodríguez goes with a tilde--)
his mother's from veracruz, méxico (he was born there too)
his mum didn't know who hermes was, she married when chris was little and had a few kids with her new partner
one of them is marisol (a.k.a 'mari', a.k.a. 'mary', the one chris is talking about in BotL), he loves all his siblings but always got along better with marisol
when he was 12 a monster tried to attack him on his way back from fútbol and a satyr on his quest to find pan saw the whole thing and told chris' mum sent him to new york that summer
when chris first got to camp, he felt a bit lost, the culture was different, he missed his parents and siblings, he had to make an effort to think in english when he was tired (annoying thing to have to do, truly)
and his father didn't claim him
luke told him it was okay, gods were like that, that they were a family anyway, who needed recognition from those assholes
chris loved luke, he was the older brother --officially, even if he didn't know it yet-- he always wanted
he was always annoyed when clarisse went on and on about 'making ares proud' bc he was jealous that she knew who her father was, and did she really have to shove it in eveybody's face all the time??
but then once, after capture-the-flag, the ares cabin lost and clarisse was super upset --yelling at anybody who came close-- and off to the training arena.. chris followed her silently --he was always so good at staying quiet when needed-- and eventually saw her sit down angrily, arms crossed around her knees
he approached slowly, eventually, he got the courage to sit next to clarisse and waited until she spoke.. she told him that she dedicated all her triumphs --or attempts at winning-- to her father bc she was afraid he'd unclaim her if she fucked up
chris thought that sounded legit, and also that the gods were massive assholes (if anyone from méxico me quiere decir cómo dicen allá 'reverendos pelotudos hijos de puta', se agradece)
he told luke, a while later so as to not be so obvious, that he'd heard of other kids being wary of their godly parents revoking their claim, wondered perhaps if annabeth, always trying to prove her worth, might think that way too
luke neither confirmed nor denied annabeth's situation, but he told chris that yeah, he knew campers felt that way, that it was okay if chris was still upset about his deadbeat father not speaking up
chris asked if luke felt that way about hermes. "as if he could disinherit me? unclaim me? whatever gods do?" he snorted and explained to chris that nothing hermes did upset him anymore --not true but y'know how teenagers are--
he told chris that if gods couldn't even admit their children were theirs, they didn't deserve to use those children as weapons or tools --his quest had been bullshit, and had ended up with his questmate dead for no reason other than repeating other heroes exploits--
and y'know, to chris, luke was wise, and fair, and caring, why wouldn't he believe luke when he said there was another way?
I've a bunch more from later on but this is long enough as it is :D

Dozens of people, students and social organizations gathered on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of the embassy of the State of Israel in Mexico City to condemn the massacre on the encampments in Rafah, which occurred this Sunday, where at least 45 Gazan refugees were burned alive by the bombings of the Zionist army, the majority of the victims being children and women. Among the protesters in Mexico were those who participated in the Gaza solidarity camp inside the University City of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In line with the movement developed among university students from many European, American and Latin American countries, among others, Mexican students protested in front of the embassy, in repudiation of the bloody attack on a refugee camp in Rafah, which was responded to with brutal repression by the government of Mexico City.
Although the demonstration took place peacefully, the government of Mexico City, headed by Martí Batres, ordered an extreme security operation to defend the facilities of the Zionist embassy, where police began firing tear gas, explosives and stones towards the protesters, leaving two people injured, in addition to photojournalists reporting attacks by the same police.
This repression occurs precisely on the same day that the Mexican state joins South Africa's lawsuit for genocide by the Israeli state before the International Criminal Court, although maintaining a constant refusal on the part of the López Obrador government to break relations with the Zionist State.

What are some of your favorite novelas, Petty? I grew up loving them too and personally I will ALWAYSSS show up for anything Fernando Colunga is in!
Anon, I'm not giving you some of my favorites. No. I'm giving you my favorite - If you know this bitch (affectionate and derogatory), you KNOW where this is going!
Tumblr media
For all the BL people, this is why @italianpersonwithashippersheart, @lukaherehelp, and I are having no qualms about Twins or Playboyy.
Telenovelas, soap operas, y lakorns have trained us well for these shenanigans and hijinks.
Why y'all can't remember twenty-two people's names is beyond me, but I had them down the first episode.
Why y'all don't like the tonal whiplash is odd to me because for me, ten minutes on one couple is TOO MUCH TIME. Six minutes, TOP, and move on to the next one.
Someone getting stabbed in one scene then the next scene being someone celebrating at a birthday party is the way I like my shows, and don't let that person be getting stabbed AT that birthday party because that is my bread and butter.
Oh, and TWINS!
Tumblr media
My favorite show includes all of these fine points, and it's the 1998 Mexican telenovela called
La usurpadora
Tumblr media
Somewhere in fictional hell, Soraya Montenegro from María la del Barrio is pissed as fuck.
Tumblr media
The plot: Paola is a rich bitch and wants to leave her husband for her evil lover but can't figure out how.
Tumblr media
¡Sorpresa, cabrona! She meets a worker who looks just like her while on vacation or some shit.
Tumblr media
Paulina is the other woman and she is too poor to contour. Therefore, rich bitch Paola convinces kind and caring Paulina to be her stand-in. Paola tells Paulina she will live the best life and be rich, while Paola can be free. It's a win-win.
¡MENTIRAS!
Paulina refuses! So Paola blackmails her into doing it, and with her mother dead, her fiance gone, and no job (since she was fired as part of Paola's blackmailing scheme), Paulina is forced to take the offer. This is like episode 2 out of 102.
In the next 100 episodes, we get forty-five other characters who are all important to the plot, amnesia, cheating, murder attempts, Paola pretending to be paralyzed, Paulina GOES TO PRISON, someone discovers they are actually twins (no duh!), and a crap ton of more drama.
Oh, and the car crash!
Tumblr media
But God got Paulina, so she good. Even in the sequel when she had cancer, pero no, she was just pregnant.
Tumblr media
The show is based on a 1971 Venezuelan telenovela that was adapted from the book La Intrusa, and has since had several remakes. One was in 2019, which made Paulina Colombian (or was she always Colombian?), and A MUSICAL THIS YEAR!
Tumblr media
It holds a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes because the people know this was a 🎁🎁🎁 from God, and it is not up for debate because it featured men dancing around singing Celia Cruz's "La vida es un carnaval" y Selena's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom." This movie is the moment.
Tumblr media
The lead is Cuban actress Isabella Castillo Díaz who played in America and México's co-produced telenovela ¿Quién es quién?, which is basically the boy version of La usurpadora because of the twins plot. Do you see the theme?
Tumblr media
But back to the musical, which also features Drag Race superstar, Valentina. If you know this bitch (affectionate and derogatory), you KNOW!
Tumblr media
The 1998 version and musical both embrace the camp of it all. The music in the original 1998 version was peak telenovela, and even if you don't speak Spanish, readers, just watch the first minute of this video. I promise you it will be worth it, and it will give you three perfect examples of the *vibes* I'm always rambling about.
youtube
So, yeah, Anon, I hope this explains a lot of about my taste in BLs. I'm here for a show, not the show. Soraya understands.

I do have to say that a little bit of the issue of the whole calling characters toxic is in part of not knowing how to translate some jokes in Disventure Camp
In México it's very common to call a partner with some bad behavior: "El tóxico" as a joke in exaggeration to the point that people just refer to their boyfriends as: "Mi tóxico"
Oh, that's interesting! Maybe it could be a reason why that word is used improperly
But sometimes it seems that calling a fictional couple toxic for the smallest thing is becoming a fad and a way to insult a couple or a character they don't like

Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷😘
Translation: I wanted to buy a Skin for Webber and I found the Rebel Skin (the one with the punk hairstyle) and I thought "Oh no, my baby has reached puberty TnT". So I wonder how's Wilson doing with his rebellious teenage spider-son. Let's hope he's not smoking, having bad companies or piercings.
Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
I do answer to some asks, it's just takes me an insane amount of time q<q
Tumblr media
Everyone would be very supportive over his new style. Wilson would do the piercings himself to make sure they heal properly
Tumblr media
Spiders don't really respect the others so they're not allowed in the camp, only for battle
Tumblr media
And Webber WILL NOT follow his father's steps, Wilson will make sure of that
As mean as Webber looks he's still the sweet polite boy he's always been, just trying out different styles now that he's grown up
Saludos de México!

I LOVED THE CHEATING STORYLINE (ACTUALLY)
First, a little bit about me: I am a polyamorous bisexual writer with queer liberation ideals. This is just so that you (beautifull reader that took the time to read this) understands where I am coming from.
So let's recapitulate:
Carlos and Ashlyn plus all of the wildcats except for Big Red and Seb leave for camp, leaving the two boys to spend a lot time together were they grow closer and their relationship understandably strengthens.
So, we end up with two boys that are missing their romantic partners and all the affection their romantic partners can give them. They decide to go see a Harry Styles movie (whyyy?? harry styles- it should have been better Fire Island, anyways). And in the darkness of the cinema Seb reaches for Big Red's nachos, and Big Red for Seb's popcorn. Hands brush, it reminds them of the romantic affection they've been missing, but it isn't enough so they kiss.
And kisses CAN be platonic. Nothing happens, except that Big Red discovers he's bisexual.
Their romantic partners return for camp. They have to tell them about the KISS because if they don't say anything it would be cheating, but Big Red is going to Cairo (for some weird reason). Seb, well there are some rumours about Carlos cheating, which Seb isn't bother by, in his mind he did the same.
He found out does rumours aren't real. Carlos didn't cheat unlike him. The guilt consumes him, he's a coward so he runs from his problems. Seb ignores Carlos for the rest of the summer and two months after that (if they start in the 1st of september, idk how it works).
Seb tells Carlos about the kiss, but it comes out all wrong. Now its too late for the kiss to really being nothing, Seb ignore carlos for 2 months-ish. Plus he says he cheated, which really what is CHEATING?
Is it kissing someone? Is it having sex with someone? Is it entering a romantic relationship with someone? Is it entering a sexual relationship with someone? Is it having feelings for someone?
Carlos & Seb never defined what is cheating for them, and the way Seb says it, it could be anything of the above.
PLUS cheating involves in some way getting tired of the other person and wanting to look for something new. Which Carlos internalizes, but is definetly not how Seb feels about him.
Big Red comes back from Egypt, the first thing he does (after yk doing all the things you do for a trip) is go find Ashlyn and explain himself, and apologize (sort of). Because how he sees it, it wasn't cheating because for him platonic kisses aren't cheating and he still loves Ashlyn, for Ash is a bit different because she doesn't know what cheating is for her, and they also never established what cheating was for each other.
But is fine because Big Red came to her with the truth AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (I'm looking at you Sebastian). Plus they both knew their relationship was reaching an end.
Reminded by Ashlyn, Big Red goes to Carlos to explain the situation, but is too late Seb already ruin it. It was too late, the wording was not the best ("Do you know who was the guy that Seb cheated with?" / "Me". Like, damn). And again CHEATING implies the person that cheats getting bored with their partner and disregarding their feelings.
So yeah, Carlos is feeling bad. Because all this time it had been Seb who had giving Carlos the side eye for the possibility he might cheated with boys on trips to México or Camp, etc. Carlos, who has had to manage the effects of this insecurity of Seb's, then has that same insecuirty made real by the same person that already feels it.
Therefore, a very shitty situation. Because again Seb saying "I cheated on you" is very different from "I kiss Big Red, it didn't mean anything".
And as we know it was all that implied cheating that affected Carlos, not really the kiss on itself. So in true Seblos fasion, he needs a song to be reminded of how much Seb trully loves him, how much he values him.
And we finally get the Seblos (frankie & joe) duet I've been waiting.
Seb finally gets a chance to do things right, explain himself and Red, and assuage any insecurities Carlos might have.
The End.
Which, wow, it was a very convoluted storyline, just type it down, now, I can see how long it was.
So for my recap of it, you can see that I really don't see Seb and Big Red as cheating, because again it was a PLATONIC kiss. That being said, Seblos and Redlyn should have talk about what is cheating for them, and is platonic kisses are part of it, well that changes things a little bit. But yeah. For me what Seb & Big Red did wasn't cheating.
Now lets get into what Seb and Big Red did wrong.
Big Red, you did things very good actually, just don't try to act so proud of it "my coming-out origin story" to your girlfriend? Dude, a bit more tact next time.
Seb, Seb, sweet, sweet, Seb. Do you even know your boyfriend? You did everything wrong. You IGNORED Carlos, a person which craves attention, you make him feel your own guilt about cheating even when he didn't, and make him feel like he did something wrong in the relationship, when you thought it was you who did the wrong thing.
And then, instead of explaining what ACTUALLY happened, you say it in the way that will be MISINTERPRETED and cause a lot of insecurity, insecurity which you HAVE/HAD by the way.
Like I know you aren't good at talking things out loud, but this is a whole other level.
Now, why do I love the storyline? As I declared in the title of this post.
Well 1st CARLOS. I love how this plot allows us to go in deeper with Carlos' insecurities, and even a throwaway line of the exuberant body standards of/in the gay community.
It also gave us a Carlos that fought for Seb, when he wasn't talking to him. Like in S2, he would have just give him the cold shoulder too, called it a day, and if they never talk again, well it would be more self-pity to drown himself into.
It gave us Miss Jenn & Carlos bonding over their broken hearts, Ashlyn & Carlos moments talking about their partners (and queerness), Carlos & Kourtney caring for each other.
It gave us a freaking Seblos duet (though I know we could've get this any other way).
2nd Seb. Like I know that I have been to harsh on him, and that's because he messed up. And I LOVE that about him.
Like Sebastian has always been this perfect character ("Sweet Perfect Innocent Seb" as Carlos call him), but now we know it isn't always easy to be sweet, perfect, and innocent.
And he messed up in a way that was actually in line with his character, like he is definitely the person that drags out the problem until he can't ignore it (Points to S2), and doesn't want to deal with it.
Carlos messes up a lot, but now we find out that Seb does too.
3rd Big Red. I love his outlook in this whole situation. How he looks back at the moment and doesn't think "I cheated on my girlfriend" but rather "Wow, cool bi awakening". Because again, he wasn't into Seb, it was a platonic kiss, all it did for him was making him realized that he likes kissing boys, and boys in general as well as girls.
Which brings me to the fact that we finally got to know Big Red's bi awakening. Is it controversial? Yes. Does it perpetuates stereotypes? Depending on how you look at it, because although Big Red doesn't look at it as cheating, Ashlyn has more mix feeling about it, and the guy he kissed definetly thinks they cheated.
4th, it was a freaking queer storyline. Like normally I hate cheating as a way to cause more drama into a relationship, plus being the reason the character break up. But the way HSMTMTS queered it all the way.
Like I definitely can SEE this happening on a queer friendship group irl. Like the Redlyn break-up is the queerest scene on the show ever, Big Red's whole different out look on the situation, Carlos' insecurities about why Seb cheated, how Seb reacts to the whole thing, and the uses Halloween to try an fix it. The fact that it was a platonic kiss, which both parties know didn't meant they were into the other person, but that they just like to kiss.
Very, very queer my friend.
Lastly, I have mostly been talking about it from my own interpretation and my feelings about it. But I want to talk about how I saw it was received.
And that was, not so good.
Which I do and don't understand at the same time. On the one side, I am in part of the crow that says that relationships don't need to have drama to be interesting. Especially, when the only drama mainstream authors can think about is, cheating, fear of being cheated on, and jelousy. Like very boring my friend.
Then there's the whole "Bisexual Stereotipe" in the room, which true (most people don't even care about Bi men) is not the best. However, I want to ask, why are we so insistan on looking good? Why do we crave acceptance so much?
If a may I would like to bring attention to this next excerpt from Bi Notes from a Bisexual Revolution by Shiri Esner:
The idea of unfaithfulness also brings into light the metaphor of the bisexual as traitor (one of my personal favorites). The dictionary defines
treason as “a betrayal of trust,” or as “an attempt to overthrow the government . . . or to kill . . . the sovereign,” a definition that betrays, if you will, bisexuality’s function as an agitator. We can think about bisexuality as betrayal of the trust imposed on us by power structures, as well as embodying an attempt to overthrow or “kill” hegemonic order. We can then use this as a gateway to betraying monogamy, patriarchy, governments, countries, and wars, betraying the “LGBT” (meaning, the GGGG) movement, for promoting the assimilation of our communities and cooperating with oppressive structures. We can be traitors to anything that confines us, and to anything that stands in our way: all power structures, all oppression.
Which actually brings me to the last idea of why I think people are reacting badly to the storyline, we are not used to see queer people mess up in media. With this I mean that we are either demonized or made into paragons.
Let me pick another quote from Will Williams, amazing creator of Valence a super duper queer Urban Fantasy Podcast:
So like, there’s this — there’s this idea of “bad representation”, of showing queer people in a negative light as complex and fucked up characters. [...] There’s this idea that showing queer people like this gives cishet people more reasons to hate us.
And I understand that. I absolutely do. [...] But where I am right now, my philosophy is, cishet people will always hate us. They’ll always find reasons to think that we’re abhorrent even if we’re the most morally upright person in their eyes, regardless of being queer. [...]
I don’t — I — because I’m a mess, and because I’m a queer person, and because I have huge monumental flaws as a person, I really struggle to feel represented by most things [...] So when I think of the media that matters to me, and makes me feel seen, and gives me catharsis, and makes me feel represented as specifically a queer person, I always think of really fucked up, messed up queer characters hat other people might point to and be like, this is bad representation. I just don’t think that there’s any such thing as good representation.
To conclude, I love the cheating storyline. Because in my book it wasn't actually cheating, we've got to explore the characters even more- let them mess up, and it was queer as fuck.

III. Mom? Pick Me Up, the Kids Are Being Mean
"What's your story, Ara?"
"I was six when my satyr found me, Clarisse was his original mission."
"Clarisse was your roadtrip buddy? That must've sucked."
I look at Percy with a recriminatory glare. "She was younger and easier to scare... she kept it together for me, though."
"You've been brave so far," he points out. "Clarisse probably made it sound like a bigger deal."
"Ara's a coward," Annabeth says casually. "She's never wanted to go on quests, I'm surprised she agreed to this."
Percy scowls. "I told you not to come if it scared you."
"I'm not scared."
The truth is that I'm okay, I have two older demigods looking after me. I don't tell him that though, I don't want to pressure him.
"Ara..."
"I mean it!"
"I'm glad you came," Annabeth admits. "I'll take you to my quest too. You're full of surprises..."
Tumblr media
"Thank Hades, I found you!" Lily seizes Ara's hand and pulls her in the direction of the Big House. "Piper fainted—Rachel wants to see you."
"Rachel's here?" Ara picks up her pace. "Thank Apollo!"
"Everything okay with the new guy? You didn't look very happy when he got claimed."
She shakes her head. "When we rescued this group, I got this feeling..."
"What kind of feeling?"
Ara dismisses Lily without explaining. "See you at lunch."
"You know where to find me," Lily's not pleased, but she doesn't show it. The girl squeezes Ara's shoulder before going away.
When Ara arrives, Jason's already there and Piper's on a couch, still unconscious. Rachel and Annabeth are standing side by side.
"What happened?"
"We've got to heal her," Jason demands. "There's a way, right?"
"Of course there is, she just fainted," Ara frowns. "What happened?"
Chiron places his hand on Piper's forehead. "Her mind is in a fragile state. Rachel?"
"As soon as I got to camp, I had a premonition about Hera's cabin. I went inside. Annabeth and Piper came in while I was there. We talked, and then—I just blanked out. Annabeth said I spoke in a different voice."
"A prophecy?"
"No. The spirit of Delphi comes from within. I know how that feels. This was like long distance, a power trying to speak through me."
"Chiron, what happened back there—I've never seen anything like it," Annabeth says gravely. "I've heard Rachel's prophecy voice. This was different. She sounded like an older woman. She grabbed Piper's shoulders and told her—"
"To free her from a prison?" Jason guesses.
Annabeth stares at him. "How did you know that?"
Chiron makes a gesture over his heart, then he looks at the blond boy. "Jason, tell them. Annabeth, the medicine bag, please."
Jason explains something about an old woman claiming to be his patron. "So does this happen often?" He asks after a brief moment of silence. "Supernatural phone calls from convicts demanding you bust them out of jail?"
"Your patron," Annabeth frowns. "Not your godly parent?"
"No, she said patron. She also said my dad had given her my life."
If someone knows about patrons, that's Ara. Her mind itches with discomfort, she has to tell them about what she saw with Leo.
"You said the storm spirit on the skywalk—he claimed to be working for some mistress who was giving him orders, right? Could it be this woman you saw, messing with your mind?"
"I don't think so. If she were my enemy, why would she be asking for my help? She's imprisoned. She's worried about some enemy getting more powerful. Something about a king rising from the earth on the solstice—"
"Not Kronos," Annabeth gazes at Chiron in alarm. "Please tell me it's not that."
He keeps his eyes on Piper. "It is not Kronos. That threat is ended. But..."
"But what?"
"But now we have a new threat coming," Ara completes, sort of grumpily. "Someone else decided to shoot their shot—"
"Ara."
"Percy's missing, and the camp's in danger. Ten minutes ago I saw that old lady Jason mentioned and—"
"You saw her?" Jason interrupts her. "Did she talk to you?"
"Piper needs rest. We should discuss this later," Chiron intervenes.
"Or now," The boy presses. "Sir, Mr. Chiron, you told me the greatest threat was coming. The last chapter. You can't possibly mean something worse than an army of Titans, right?"
"You told him what?" Ara steps forward. "You knew this was going to happen?"
"Oh," Rachel says in a small voice. "Oh, dear. The woman was Hera. Of course. Her cabin, her voice. She showed herself to Jason and Ara at the same moment."
"Hera?" Annabeth sneers. "She took you over? She did this to Piper?"
"And your father gave you to her?" Ara glances down at Jason's tattoo. "Like, as an offering?"
"I think Rachel's right," he seems slightly uncomfortable. "The woman did seem like a goddess. And she wore this—this goatskin cloak. That's a symbol of Juno, isn't it?"
"It is?" Annabeth makes a face. "I've never heard that."
"Of Juno, Hera's Roman aspect, in her most warlike state. The goatskin cloak was a symbol of the Roman soldier."
"So Hera is imprisoned?" Rachel questions. "Who could do that to the queen of the gods?"
"Well, whoever they are, maybe we should thank them," Annabeth replies heatedly. "If they can shut up Hera—"
"Annabeth, she is still one of the Olympians. In many ways, she is the glue that holds the gods' family together. If she truly has been imprisoned and is in danger of destruction, this could shake the foundations of the world. It could unravel the stability of Olympus, which is never great even in the best of times. And if Hera has asked Jason for help—"
"Fine! Well, we know Titans can capture a god, right? Atlas captured Artemis a few years ago. And in the old stories, the gods captured each other in traps all the time..."
Tumblr media
"So Ares and Aphrodite—they have a thing going?"
"That's old gossip, Percy. Three-thousand-year-old gossip."
"What about Aphrodite's husband?"
"Well, you know... Hephaestus. The blacksmith. He was crippled when he was a baby, and thrown off Mount Olympus by Zeus. So he isn't exactly handsome. Clever with his hands and all, but Aphrodite isn't into brains and talent, you know?"
"Reason why I'm good for nothing," I huff. "Why couldn't she be the goddess of... I don't know, baking..."
"She seems to like bikers," Percy teases me. "Maybe she'd favor you if you become one."
Annabeth shakes her head. "You just need to find your thing and stick to it, Ara."
"Gee, how didn't I think of that!"
"Hephaestus knows about them, then?" Percy gives me a look that's it's clearly meant to shut me up.
"Oh sure," Annabeth replies. "He caught them together once. I mean, literally caught them, in a golden net, and invited all the gods to come and laugh at them. Hephaestus is always trying to embarrass them. That's why they meet in out-of-the-way places, like... Like that."
"The tunnel of love?" I snort. "A bit cliche."
Grover and I stand to the side while Percy and Annabeth slip down the empty pool. I stare at the cupid next to me and the Eta that's carved on it.
A net starts to close around them, Hephaestus's kids are good at building stuff, but this is a whole other level. Tiny spider robots encircle Annabeth and Percy, cameras appear, ready to broadcast the mess.
"Guys!" Percy yells at us. "Get into that booth! Find the 'on' switch!"
I click and press but nothing happens. Then water bursts out of the tanks at Percy's orders. The cameras follow as they move at great speed toward the exit, they jump out and Grover uses his magical shoes to catch Percy and Annabeth.
I stare at the trap, a creation that's harmless but devastating to godly egos. I'm immediately drawn to the idea of making something with my bare hands that could hold this much power.
Tumblr media
"The gods need heroes to do their will down here on earth," Rachel says. "That's right, isn't it? Their fates are always intertwined with demigods."
"But Jason's got a point," Annabeth counts. "Why him? Why take his memory?"
"And Piper's involved somehow. Hera sent her the same message—Free me. And, Annabeth, this must have something to do with Percy's disappearing."
"Let's not forget that son of Hephaestus, Leo" Ara points out. "He was with me when I saw Hera, and he saw her too."
The girls look at the centaur. "Why are you so quiet, Chiron? What is it we're facing?"
"My dear, in this, I cannot help you... I am so sorry."
"You've never..." Annabeth gapes. "You've never kept information from me. Even the last great prophecy—"
"I will be in my office. I need some time to think before dinner. Rachel, will you watch the girl? Call Argus to bring her to the infirmary, if you'd like. And girls, you should speak with Jason. Tell him about—about the Greek and Roman gods."
Ara starts to follow Chiron out of the room, but she stops halfway. What's the point? Harassing her mentor with questions won't help, he doesn't look pleased about their situation either.
"I'm sorry," Jason mumbles. "I think me being here... I don't know. I've messed things up coming to the camp, somehow. Chiron said he'd sworn an oath and couldn't talk about it."
"What oath?" Annabeth frowns. "I've never seen him act this way. And why would he tell me to talk to you about the gods..." Her eyes land on something next to Jason. "Is this gold? Do you remember where you got it?"
"No. Like I said, I don't remember anything."
"Hang on..." Ara draws out her compass. "Annabeth, look!" The item has golden hues, the same color as Jason's. "The element we couldn't identify before... it's gold!"
Annabeth turns to exit the room. "If Chiron won't help, we'll need to figure things out ourselves. Which means... Cabin Fifteen. Rachel, you'll keep an eye on Piper?"
"Sure," the redhead takes a seat. "Good luck."
"Hold on," Jason says. "What's in Cabin Fifteen?"
"Maybe a way to get your memory back," Annabeth raises a brow. "Ara, you're coming or not?"
"I've got no choice," she sighs, putting her compass away.
Tumblr media
"Why are you smiling?"
"That trap was really cool."
"You liked the trap?" Percy makes a face.
"I didn't enjoy what it did, though it was a great bonding experience," I joke. "I just... I have a soft spot for flashy stuff! The cupids and the cameras... it was breathtaking."
"Yeah, and it wasn't you trapped in it," he scoffs.
"Percy, there must be a reason why my Mom married him. I know what the myth says," I roll my eyes. "But no one can control love! Hephaestus never tried to, no one's ever been fair to him, so he lets her be free and in exchange, she doesn't ask him to be something he's not."
"Aren't you angry he humiliates your mother?"
"My mother is incapable of feeling that. Anger, perhaps, but not shame," I lean my head on his shoulder. "I'm just saying Hephaestus lives for his machines, so he lets my mom do her thing. That's cool."
Percy thinks Aphrodite married the god to keep Zeus off her back. He doesn't want to mess with my optimism at the moment though, so he keeps it to himself.
I fall asleep.
Tumblr media
I'm walking through an ancient town, the road is busy with people."There you are!" An old lady talks to me in ancient Greek. "Arche, stop wandering!"
"But it's tiresome!" I complain. "Give me something to do!"
The woman huffs, looking skeptical. She gives me something to do anyway.
"Hi!" The seller in the first tent I visit starts listing everything, but I can only stare at their warm eyes.
"I..." I gulp. "I am..."
"Agape!" A man yells.
The teen gives a start. "What!" They pout. "You said I could help!"
"You must excuse the child," the man approaches me. "Can't stay still."
"It's fine," I whisper hoarsely. Agape smiles, it's a sort of teasing, crooked grin. I don't want to go, but I don't know why I want to stay. "I'll see you..."
It was a promise.
Tumblr media
The trip to Hypnos cabin confirms only Hera can give Jason his memories back, but why did she take them away in the first place?
Since Percy went missing, Ara's expecting to get disturbing nightmares, but all she's seen so far are snippets of past lives that give her zero answers. She hates dreaming.
She stands next to Chiron during the campfire, arms crossed and scowling. She's always sulking nowadays, even before her brother's disappearance. The old campers still treat her like before, and the ones who didn't know her look at her as if she could burst into flames at any moment, neither of those two options are good.
"...alive and with most of your limbs attached. In a moment, I promise we'll get to the s'mores, but first—"
"What about capture the flag?"
Ara glares at the cabin five campers. "Yes," Chiron nods. "I know the Ares cabin is anxious to return to the woods for our regular games—"
"And kill people!"
"—However, until the dragon is brought under control, that won't be possible. Cabin Nine, anything to report on that?"
Nyssa stands up. "We're working on it."
"How, Nyssa?"
"Really hard."
The kids start to complain and Chiron quiets them down. "We will have to be patient! In the meantime, we have more pressing matters to discuss."
"Percy?" Someone asks out loud.
Everyone is looking at her and Annabeth, the blonde girl is the first to speak. "We didn't find Percy. He wasn't at the Grand Canyon like I thought. But we're not giving up. We've got teams everywhere. Grover, Tyson, Nico, the Hunters of Artemis—everyone's out looking. We will find him. Chiron's talking about something different. A new quest."
"It's the Great Prophecy, isn't it?"
"Drew? What do you mean?"
"Well, come on!" She rolls her eyes. "Olympus is closed. Percy's disappeared. Hera sends you a vision and you come back with three new demigods in one day. I mean, something weird is going on. The Great Prophecy has started, right?" She looks at Ara. "And it's her fault."
"Not true," Ara replies through gritted teeth.
"You walked into Olympus demanding to be crowned—You're so selfish!"
"Look who's talking!"
Drew has charmspeak, but it isn't needed, plenty of campers share the same thought and they're less than happy to have a Daughter of Olympus amongst them. "Well?" Drew glares at Rachel. "You're the oracle. Am I right or not?"
Rachel steps forward. "Yes. The Great Prophecy has begun."
Ara opens her mouth to speak, but she can't.  A new prophecy? The war ended just a few months ago! Drew's eyes lock with hers again and there is disgust in them. What if she's right? Ara asked for this, but she didn't think it would bring the next big prophecy.
Rachels raises her voice. "For those of you who have not heard it, the Great Prophecy was my first prediction. It arrived in August. It goes like this: Seven half-bloods shall answer the call. To storm or fire the world must fall—" Jason stands up abruptly. "J-Jason? "What's—"
"Ut cum spiritu postrema sacramentum dejuremus," he recites. "Et hostes ornamenta addent ad ianuam necem."
This boy needs to stop talking about things he isn't supposed to know. Ara wants to dissect him and make sure he's not an automaton.
"You just... finished the prophecy," Rachel gapes. "—An oath to keep with a final breath/And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death. How did you—"
"I know those lines," Jason holds his head and grimaces. "I don't know how, but I know that prophecy."
"In Latin, no less," Drew smiles. "Handsome and smart."
Ara's siblings laugh at Drew's remark, she remembers when she used to be just as careless. For the first time in years, she wishes she would've thought twice before stepping out of her comfort zone.
Jason sits down in embarrassment, Annabeth mumbles something to him while Rachel glances back at Chiron and Ara hoping they'll step in. The centaur doesn't move, so it's Ara's turn to speak. She's been dreaming about this... but it's not like she imagined.
People doubt her, resent her, and her friends don't think she's got what it takes. Percy tried to tell her she wasn't built for this and she did it anyway. Why?
"Well," Rachel takes the lead when Ara finds herself speechless. "So, yeah, that's the Great Prophecy. We hoped it might not happen for years, but I fear it's starting now. I can't give you proof. It's just a feeling. And like Drew said, some weird stuff is happening. The seven demigods, whoever they are, have not been gathered yet. I get the feeling some are here tonight. Some are not here."
Once again, everyone looks at Ara. It's evident that even if she isn't, she has to join the quest, she can't turn her back on it, not that she would, anyway.
"Anyway," Rachel continues, "I don't think is Ara's fault. Something wants to take advantage of our situation. We don't know what challenge the demigods will face, but since the first Great Prophecy predicted the Titan War, we can guess the second Great Prophecy will predict something at least that bad."
"Or worse..." Chiron mutters.
"What we do know," Rachel resumes, glancing at the centaur with irritation, "is that the first phase has begun. A major problem has arisen, and we need a quest to solve it. Hera, the queen of the gods, has been taken..."
As she starts to describe what's happened, Rachel mentions Hedge died, and Ara's breath hitches. The campfire flickers for a moment, turning scarlet before it goes back to normal, no one seems to notice.
"Jason—Um... do you remember your last name?" Rachels questions. He shakes his head. "We'll just call you Jason, then. It's clear Hera herself has issued you a quest."
"I agree."
"You must save Hera to prevent a great evil, some sort of king from rising. For reasons we don't yet understand, it must happen by the winter solstice, only four days from now."
"That's the council day of the gods," Annabeth adds. "If the gods don't already know Hera's gone, they will definitely notice her absence by then. They'll probably break out fighting, accusing each other of taking her. That's what they usually do."
"The winter solstice," Chiron says, "is also the time of greatest darkness. The gods gather that day, as mortals always have, because there is strength in numbers. The solstice is a day when evil magic is strong. Ancient magic, older than the gods. It is a day when things... stir."
"Okay," Annabeth scowls. "Thank you, Captain Sunshine. Whatever's going on, I agree with Rachel. Jason has been chosen to lead this quest, so—"
"Why hasn't he been claimed?" An Ares kid shouts. "If he's so important—"
"He has been claimed," Chiron finally gives an answer. "Long ago. Jason, give them a demonstration."
Jason steps forward and Ara knows something big is about to happen. He pulls out the coin from his pocket and flips it, a spear materializing in his hand. Annabeth steps back and frowns. "Wasn't that... I thought you had a sword."
"Um, it came up tails, I think," he replies awkwardly. "Same coin, long-range weapon form."
"Dude, I want one!" A kid shouts.
"Better than Clarisse's electric spear, Lamer!"
"Electric," Jason mutters. "Back away."
The people closest to him oblige at once, he raises the weapon and lightning goes through the spear, redirecting itself toward the campfire. Jason puts his arm down, completely uninjured. "Um... sorry."
Chiron brushes off a bit of cinder, and he nods. Once again, he looks in pain. "A little overkill, perhaps, but you've made your point. And I believe we know who your father is."
"Jupiter," Jason answers. "I mean Zeus. Lord of the Sky."
"Ah, fuck..." Ara complains quietly.
This is why she isn't having weird dreams, Jason must be swimming in them.
Tumblr media
"You're a baby bird, that's all," Percy's quite proud of me, my charmspeak edged Crusty to let go of him so my friend could cut him in half. "Give it a few years, you'll be a grown dove one day—that's your mother's symbol, right?"
"It's okay if my life revolves around beauty and feelings only, I'm okay with that," I shrug.
"Then why did you join my quest?"
"I was bored," that's the answer I've been giving him since the start, but now it doesn't convince him.
"It's not safe to hang out with me," he raises a brow. "You could die, you know?"
"I'm not important enough to die," I laugh.

TIMING: 1887 LOCATION: México SUMMARY: Monty's first day with the gang of outlaws that kidnapped him.
The rope around his wrists had rubbed them raw, the skin beneath irritated and bleeding slowly with each forceful tug. Come with us or die here, they’d offered. It was a shit deal but what choice did he have? They’d given him a moment to gather a few possessions and throw them into a plain sack, which was now in the possession of one of the gruff, intimidating men among them—Montaña couldn’t remember which. Their faces were hidden anyway, or they had been the night they came to the ranch. But that was two days ago, and while the majority of the attackers had gone off to sell the rustled cattle at a settlement somewhere farther south, their leader and two others had stayed to drag the ranch hand back to wherever it was they hid out.
He trudged along behind their horses, head hanging and feet aching from the damn near constant march, save for the five or so hours they’d stopped for the night. As much as he didn’t trust these bandidos, sleep had overtaken him pretty swiftly, in spite of the hard, cold earth he was forced to lay upon, but it hadn’t been enough time for him to mend from the whole ordeal.
In the distance, a large mesa rose up from the earth. Around its base, Montaña could see scrubby foliage, and… tents? Smoke from a fire? God, was that the camp at last? He could have cried from relief, and though he tried to stifle the sudden rush of emotion, a strangled sort of sound did escape. The leader of the bunch, the one that the others called Hector, glanced back at him from atop his horse. And he smiled.
“Happy to see it, are we?” he teased, and Montaña frowned. Had their treatment not been cruel enough already? His irritation gave way to fear in an instant—just because they’d reached the camp didn’t mean that cruelty was going to end. What did they want from him, anyway? What if he was just… just something to play with for a little while, like a cat would toy with a half-dead mouse? The idea had him pressing his lips into a thin line, heart beating wildly in his chest.
As they entered the encampment, curious eyes fell upon Montaña—he was a stranger among them, and clearly an unexpected one. But the prisoner couldn’t help but look on with curiosity as well—it wasn’t what he expected, if he was being honest. They weren’t all rough, angry looking men; the camp was populated by women and children as well. It made him a bit more hopeful about what they intended to do with him, but he certainly wasn’t out of the desert yet.
The gentler among them kept their distance as Hector got down from his horse and untied the rope from his saddle that snaked to Montaña’s wrists, tugging the twenty year old closer. Hector was a good deal taller than Montaña, and older, too, though there was still a youthful glint in his eyes. Montaña swallowed thickly, opening his mouth to speak before losing the words, staying silent but staring defiantly up at him.
“You probably want to sit, hm?” Montaña continued to pout, but… he was exhausted. Too exhausted to put up a fight.
“Yes.”
“Great. Come this way,” Hector said as he turned away from Montaña and the horses, giving the rope another yank. Montaña hissed in a pained breath and stumbled to keep up, feeling others move up behind him as they walked. He kept his head down and his shoulders hunched, hearing their whispering voices as they discussed the newcomer. Then, suddenly, there were hands on him—he gasped, flinching away from them as he lifted his chin to see who it was, only to see two women looking him over. One of them took his hands gently in hers, inspecting the rope burn on his wrists and clicking her tongue. The other was doing… something behind him, he couldn’t rightly tell what, but her intensely close presence made him want to crawl out of his skin. Hector either didn’t notice or didn’t care about what was going on behind him, even as the first woman called out to another, who came scurrying over with an aloe vera leaf in hand, which she cracked in half. They both began to apply the soothing gel to his wounds and he sighed, finally allowing himself to smile gently and nod at them in thanks. His throat ached so he didn’t speak, but he did try to peer around Hector to see where they were going.
Oh.
There was a smallish tree beside a smaller, ramshackle lean-to, in the dead center of the camp.
That fear began to claw its way back up his throat and he glanced from the tree to Hector, even trotting to try and fall in step beside him. He must have looked concerned, because Hector took note of his expression and shrugged.
“Got to make sure you aren’t going to go rat us out the moment we let you go, you know?”
“Wh… what? How? Why?”
“We will determine how loyal you are after you’ve had some time to think about your predicament.”
There wasn’t much else to be said about it, and Montaña was tied to the tree like a dog, planted in the open where everyone could see him. Hector went about his business without another word, leaving Montaña to the whims of the women in the camp, who all seemed very intent on making sure he was as comfortable as he could be: bringing him food, water, and even a cushion to rest on. So… at least there was that. But he did notice, once the crowd of caretakers and curious children had dispersed, that Hector was seated in a tent within his line of sight, just… staring at him. One of the men that had been part of the raid was perched beside him, leaning to say something into his ear, gaze dancing between the two of them. It was difficult to read either of their expressions from this distance, but if Montaña had to guess, he might say that the man looked worried. Hector shook his head, saying something back that Montaña couldn’t hear.
He ripped his gaze away from the pair, tucking himself into the lean-to in an attempt to avoid as many eyes as possible, knees pulled to his chest and head buried between his arms.
All he could do was hope that they wouldn’t decide he was a waste of time and resources. If they gave him a chance, he would do as they asked. What else was there, after all?
He could feel Hector’s gaze on him well into the night, unable to move anywhere that would prevent it from where the leader’s tent was placed. That was by design, probably. Had to be. This wasn’t the first time they’d done this, and wouldn’t be the last. Montaña wondered how many of these other people had arrived here just like him, and shuddered at the thought. But… if they could earn a place, perhaps he could, too.

CULTURA COLECTIVA
[Translated from Spanish]
Louis Tomlinson visited Mexico and did not imagine all the love with which he was received
Louis Tomlinson was received with such emotion that at that moment he breathed nothing but love
Tumblr media
Louis Tomlinson in Mexico fulfilled the dream of many Louies. His visit caused an incredible shock that showed how greatly loved and admired he is.
Mexico City was filled with all those voices, singing and clapping each one of Louis' songs to receive him when he arrived. It has undoubtedly been one of the most emotional moments for anyone who was there. It is always exciting to see how much love we can have for an artist who, without knowing it, has marked something important in our lives.
And this happened with Louis Tomlinson. There was nothing around him but love, warmth and a lot of thanks for saving so many lives.
Louis Tomlinson in Mexico
The former member of One Direction arrived in Mexico to present his new documentary 'All Of Those Voices', which recounts what his life has been like after being part of one of the most famous boybands worldwide in recent times.
Tumblr media
Louis Tomlinson attended the red carpet at Cinépolis de Oasis Coyoacán, where he expressed his love for Mexico and how grateful he is for so much love and support. He was very loving with all the attendees and there is no doubt that he is a big fan of his Mexican fans.
Along with the singer, we were able to see Charlie Lightening, director of the documentary, who was surprised by the public's reception. The filmmaker even stayed in one of the rooms to enjoy his production with Louis's fans.
Louis Tomlinson was received with much love
The fans couldn't believe what was happening. They were watching Louis Tomlinson and tears were welling up with quite a bit of happiness and shock. If anything was breathed on the red carpet of 'All Of Those Voices,' it was a lot of love and unconditional support.
“Louis, hermano, ya eres mexicano”, it was heard in the entire square of Oasis Coyoacán.
It was an impressive number of people who waited for him, thousands of hearts were beating to the rhythm of 'Bigger Than Me' and wherever you turned, you would see eyes shining with happiness.
It was an environment full of love and admiration, and we cannot judge that from any fan, because many times we do not know the meaning that an artist has in their lives, because music can save the lives of many.
Tumblr media
Yeah, it got a little out of hand...
Yes, it is true that sometimes that passion can get out of control and the anxiety to be close to our idols is so great that we suddenly forget our safety and that of others.
Some Louies have fainted and even hurt themselves, however, what Louis has always tried to stress is that despite all the love we have for him, safety and respect come first. And he is right.
Fortunately, nothing was more serious and the medical and security services in the square duly attended to the young women affected.
Fans were waiting for his arrival for more than twenty-four hours, camping out outside the plaza for a chance to see the musician; Despite the fatigue, they did not stop singing for a second, much less gave up the illusion of seeing him for a few minutes.
The priority has always been the fans
Louis has made it very clear that his priority is his fans, for this reason, he opened spaces for them to be in charge of meeting and interviewing him, in addition to being integrated into various dynamics with Cinépolis to be part of the premiere of 'All Of Those Voices' and participate in a Q&A with the musician and the director.
Louis Tomlinson and 'All Of Those Voices'
‘All Of Those Voices' opens on March 22 in different cities around the world and we will be able to see the totally open heart of Louis Tomlinson, where, from his own voice, he narrates experiences, feelings and stories so that we can get to know him a little more. Or much more.
In this documentary he highlights the nostalgia, but also an impressive motivation and pride, seeing how one of our favorite people has found his place in the world and is proud of it.
You will cry? Yes. There is nothing more moving than seeing Louis struggle with his insecurities, fears and the moments that have marked his life the most (such as the loss of his mother and his sister) to get to where he is now.
'All Of Those Voices' is the portrait that not everything is happiness and fame in our idols, in addition to the importance of fighting and not giving up on the path to make our dreams come true, no matter how dark it becomes; what is destined for you, will be yours.
That is what Louis Tomlinson has taught us and verified.
