TALK ABOUT THE TRANSMASCULINE ALLEGORY!!! i want to hear your thoughts

ok. the long awaited oliver quick transmasculine allegory post.

to be so real it is mainly me doing 2 (two things)

-projecting

-using insanely obvious prompts from the text to pull shit out of my ass

i do think that oliver quick's character COULD. MAYBE. be either headcanon'd as trans (BOOORRRINNGG) or a lot of his actions in act one can be closely tied to very common trans experiences.

my biggest thing on 'common' trans experiences as it relates to saltburn, is meeting a cis man and latching onto him with every fiber of your being, because you can't be friends with him, you need to *be* him. the first thing that really prompted me to look at saltburn from this lense was when farleigh goes "[you're almost passing as] a real human boy!", though it's clearly about oliver wearing a rental suit, it's a phrase that i've heard a million times over and over again, and i think that oliver, within this transmaculine concept of his character, dances CONSTANTLY on this imaginary line of "real boy" to "weirdo freak" that i think a lot of trans people can relate to. (i will touch on 'real boy' again later)

theres also an aspect of this incessant watching and dissecting cis men, what they wear, how they talk, how they fuck. and with all of this watching, there's this part of melding your identity into what you're watching, which we see starkly with oliver. at the beginning, when he's this oxford kid, a freak if you will, but he's more or less himself, version A. once he meets felix, he ditches the glasses, the button up shirts, the uptight manner, and turns into this entirely different version of "himself", version B. version B is the version he's taught himself that society will like much more than version A, so it consumes him entirely. version A wasn't someone that girls would fuck, felix would love, and quite frankly be 'enjoyed' by the rest of the world. version A is pre-transition, and version B is post. (all this to say, in relation to irl transition, neither version A or version B are right, good, or bad, they're whatever you want them to be. beauty is in the eye of the beholder)

for me, another piece i think about a lot is the “you’re just so real” (venetia) but that’s a bit more of a stretch. the reason i think this relates to the main point, is so many trans people have to work and rework their personality so that their 'transness' is socially palatable, real. the catton's have no general perception of a real person, they surround themselves with fake, upper class socialites who lie and cheat. but even if they met a real person, they wouldn't know it. and they don't lol. so when oliver comes around, who isn't this upper class socialite, the initial thought is that he's this "real" and "grounded" person. however, the only reason that the catton's (general society in this case) find oliver (trans people) so "real" and more or less worth accepting into their family is because he has worked and reworked his identity to be so similar and likeable to felix's.

there's also the conversation on cattonquick being a really good representation of what a mlm cis/trans relationship can feel like so much of the time. but i'll only really expand on this if any1 is interested lol. anyways pls dm me or comment on this i really want to talk more about it more.

🍓🎂Surprising Ban On His Birthday🎂🍓(Ban x Any Gender Reader)

Genres: Birthday Fluff (those who are fans of Valentine's Day it's Valentine's Day and Birthday Fluff) and Head Cannon (?) (Warning⚠️: Trigger warnings include, alcohol alcohol Use, mentions of alcohol, and the Possible Trigger Warning about the mentioning of Valentine's Day and Trauma in any part of this post, especially if it's parts of the post outside this fanfic) (The conclusion of this post (which is after this fanfic) might be +18⚠️, because of possible language (which the language part is part of a blog's name I will credit tough I can't find I the tags anymore let's just say😅))

*When Ban comes home from the Boar Hat tavern, you surprise him some alcoholic beverages (especially his favorite hard liquor), a heart shaped steak, and a birthday cake (size of the cake is up to the reader's imagination) that you decorated with heart designs, which he would realize he had forgotten about his birthday by accident (he madesure you don't know or see signs he forgot by accident), however he would also love and appreciate the effort you put into surprising him with alcohol, steak, and cake for his birthday. Seriously... He would be more than overjoyed about the hard work you put in with cooking his steak, having the steak into a shape of a heart, baking the cake, decorating the cake with heart designs, and getting him his favorite hard liquors for him. He would even share some steak and cake with you, because he wants to makesure you have some food, too. (Up to the reader's imagination if he shares alcohol with you or not.)

*After Ban gets done drinking his booze and eating (and feeding you) steak and cake, he would wonder why you would take his hand to take him to a different room. He would get excited and more surprised about the fact you had a hot tub set up in your bathroom, while he was working at the Board Hat tavern for a few days straight. You pretty knew he would be tired out. He may deny being tired out or he doesn't want to admit, however you know him very well the fact that you can convince him to relax for atleast an hour.

*Once you convinced Ban to get in the hot tub you had set up in your bathroom, the last thing you had expected him to do was take you in the hot tub with him, even if he has to drag you inside the hot tub with him. While you didn't realize he is going to get you inside the hot tub with him, at the same time you should have known better about the fact that there are things you do for him and/or have him dotgat he will makesure you're included in. He also either just doesn't want to be alone inside the hot tub or he wants you inside the hot tub with him.

*After both you and Ban finished relaxing inside the hot tub together, the both of you would get out of the hot tub, then leave the bathroom to get inside the bedroom the both of you share together to get changed. Once you got into your night clothes and Ban put his outfit (up to reader's imagination what outfit he's wearing), he would hug you from behind and letted himself fall on the bed (while still hugging you from behind (only in a hold)), hinting that he wanted to you to lay on him, which you end up doing. Before the both of you fall asleep he would whisper in your ear, "(Any Gender Reader)... This is the best birthday ever... And it's all thanks you, my sweetie...", as he proceeded to kiss your forehead multiple times.

Well my Tumblr Peeps... For the hot tub parts of this fanfic, I originally was going to write about the bathtub instead however there are atleast a couple or more fanfics I have written about the bathtub parts of a fanfic and I wanted to find a way to write about a tub without writing baths or bath tub everytime I write a fanfic about tubs, so I decided to write about a hot tub instead, which I have my reasons😅As for giving credits to any fanfic writers who have written about any parts of a fanfic pertaining hot tub(s), I have read a fanfic or so about a particular my Hero Academia character with hot tub parts of it about less than 2 years ago if I remember correctly (I'm keeping the characters name for now😅) and I may sound irrelevant, however also I think about 4 years ago there was a fanfic writer who went by kiriwhoresama (I think her real name is Sage, because she has asked call her Sage instead of her blog name) who has written a Eijiro Kirishima (Red Riot) hot tub fanfic (which Kirishima is 1 the characters I'm mentioning), which I had requested and she did a great on that fanfic😃👍So credits to Sage and any of the other fanfic writers who have written about any part of the hot tub parts of the fanfics they have written. And I also would like to thank Sage for inspiring to start writing fanfic 4 years ago, and it's not just about the hot tub fanfic I had requested that she has written, however my opinion of her is that she also has written alot great fanfics and she's a great fanfic writer😃👍So yes she's 1 of the reasons (if nit the only reasons) I had started writing fanfics 4 years ago. I couldn't find her blog name (kiriwhoresama), because I couldn't find it in the tags, so I'm guessing it's deactivated or something, so I couldn't credit her that way (which is which is why I'm highlighting her blog name and her actual name red😅), however I still want to thank Sage for inspiring me to write fanfics, 4 years ago 🌟 As for mentioning about Valentine's Day as 1 of the trigger warnings, while I respect that some people dislike or hate Valentine's Day, even it's in part's of this post outside this fanfic, there's more to it than that. On Feb 14th in general Something tragic might have happened to them on or maybe there was trauma, and/or other things people have endured, which is why I labeled Valentine's Day a trigger warning. Making things that are 'out of character' for fun is fun sometimes n theres nothing wrong with it IMO, i dont see any point in limiting fan content in that way. It's not like ur saying its canon or would happen and even if u are everyone interprets media differently!! Dont let any1 stop u from havin fun!! But if ur rly worried u can always just ask em 'do u think x would do x' before u make anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but i say draw and post whatever u like!

hey guys!! i want to remind u guys that a lot of editors on this platform get TONZ of their work stolen!! :( On tumblr copy cats like tumgir and other stuffz they get their work stolen. And a lot of icons on pinterest are stolen. you dont know how many times i see an edit on tumblr that was stolen by somebody on pinterest

what you can do is if u see it let the op know about it! because a lot of icons on pinterest are stolen and without credit. and sometimes people jsut search "cute anime icons" on google and our posts will appear and they will just use them without credit and put "Credit to the original artist/ editior"

Separate post 4 Watch My Back AU

Ok so I alr explained that, through a series of traumatic events, Macaque & Wukong r v co-dependent & have rlly bad separation anxiety. But I didn’t rlly explain said series of unfortunate events. (I’m viewing them as dominos bcz it makes sense 2 my ADHD Brian, so I’m gonna b calling them dominos.)

The 1st domino was actually meeting each other bcz they’ve never met another celestial monkey b4. (The other 2 lived their mortals lives & died way b4 either of them were “born”.) Wukong was instantly excited, wanting 2 know everything abt Macaque bcz “omg he’s like me but white and quiet”. Macaque was not so excited however, v used 2 ppl hunting 4 his fur coat or legendary past through future hearing. (I also have a headcanon that 6EM was born in a v small egg shaped hurricane, he was in the eye of it, & it scared off all the wildlife so he was “born” alone.) So SWK had 2 work 2 gain 6EM trust & shit, furthering their bond n stuff. Eventually 6EM agreed 2 stay

The 2nd domino was the 1st and only time some1 managed 2 actually kidnap Macaque. (6EM still left FFM occasionally tho, he may like it there but he wasn’t willing 2 give up all his freedom, never left 4 more than like 3 days tho.) 6EM may not b as strong as Wukong but he is faster and more agile, much trickier 2. So not only do u have 2 get through SWK first but you actually have 2 catch 6EM, good luck chucklefuck. I don’t know nearly enough abt the 2009 cartoon or the actual JTTW books, but I have heard abt the demon king of confusion, so until I know more I’m gonna say he was the mf who actually kidnapped 6EM. SWK got 6EM back, ofc, but this was the 1st time either had been away 4 that long since knowing each other, also the first time forcefully separated. 6EM decided he didn’t want 2 leave FFM anymore

The 3rd domino was SWK being the impulsive idiot he is, consuming like every form of immortality ever, getting dragged to Diyu and back, war ig, & being trapped under the mountain. (I should probably say that SWK learned his sick moves w/ the monks & shit b4 he met Macaque.) Obv that’s a lot 2 process, I mean, wtf? Bro literally visited all 3 realms in, like, 1 day💀. 6EM tried to save him from being literally snatched by the diamond snare but he also had 2 protect the innocent monkeys, priorities. 6EM does eventually find the mountain but he can’t remove the seal (only a certain monk can do that🙄) so he visits as often as he can, updating SWK on his subjects & shit.

4th domino, Tripitaka (and LBD & Erlang). I gotta add this conflict somewhere, like cmon, it’s iconic. 6EM sees the circlet in action, gets upset & threatens 2 throttle the monk (may b even tries) SWK stops him, insert argument. They, like the stupid stubborn idiot dumb dumbs they r, “split up” & refuse 2 talk 2 the other. Insert LBD & Erlang (Erlang gave 6EM his eye scar, 6EM also can’t die bcz his name was scribbled out during SWK’s fun adventures in hell. So when he ran in2 the fire 2 save any1 he could, he didn’t die, he was just in excruciating pain, the fire stained his fur black.), SWK & 6EM suddenly only feel safe enough when the other is there watching their back. (Clones of both the SWK & 6EM variety r watching over FFM now. Why didn’t they think of that b4? They didn’t rlly have a reason 2, and they’re only smart when they want 2 b)

5th and final domino was SWK finally, finally, coming back 2 FFM, now that they’re finally back 2 normal they’re never leaving the others side, never ever again. (Too bad Wukongs an impulsive idiot w/ 0 self preservation & a general direction 4 a certain map, also too bad LBD rlly wants a 6-eared prophet 2 read her desired destiny 2 her.)

I’ll update this when I remember more💀 (I also have literally no idea on how 2 add the brotherhood😭, I’ll figure it out)

SPARE - my review

What a ride it has been reading this book for 2 weeks. I added this to my goodreads and couldn’t rate it bc it’s so good but it’s also so bad!

Key themes!

- Key theme 1! Willy is truly Henris arch nemesis. He loves him and wants his approval constantly, but is also FREQUENTLY mad or disappointed with him. Honestly it would make a great novel or movie in itself to explore that relationship. Bc one minute he’s saying they aren’t that close and the next he’s directing the intro of the book to him. And guess what? I think willy should read it! I wonder if Henri has EVER said “willy u make me feel belittled”. I’m sure recollections would vary but I also have no doubt willy can be a dick!

- Key theme 2! Hero complex. Henri LOVES painting himself as the hero. Sticking up for a pauper in the supermarket who was being attacked by a Karen, rescuing Tom Van S after his mugging, comparing his war with the press with serving his country, recalling small children thanking him for invictus, and the interview where he wants to save the rf from themselves. It’s nauseating and unnecessary a lot of the time. The heart of gold narrative is really shoved down our throats.

Key theme 3! THE BRITISH PRESS. I mean what is there to say? His therapist said he’s addicted to raging against them and she’s right. This man will never be able to rest bc the press are going nowhere. Plus his rel with the press will always be different to the actual heirs and he doesn’t wanna see that.

- Key theme 4! Ghost Di. Well she was a leopard, an elephant, a lion, a cow. He could make most animals about her. He could relate most things to her even when his penis was oscillating. Rly was the least surprising part of the book was his fixation on Di. But it’s just there constantly. Which I guess gives us an insight into his head and dare I say a literary device?!

- Key theme 5! I’m not like the other girls. Even from pre Meg, Henri sets himself up as being different to the rest of the fam. And different often = more of a top, down to earth lads lad! Eg the story of wanting to water a tree not just plant it. A lot of his dickish behaviour is blamed on being a product of of his fam, but none on having an asshole personality. That’s ramped up post meg when he becomes enlightened to the real world. I can 100% see why the fam would be done with his shit

Random shit

- Thicko - he calls himself Prince Thicko a lot at the start of the book. I rly don’t remember any1 particularly calling him that name in the press but I find it hilarious

- If u wanna read it, skip the whole army and invictus parts. So boring and so detailed.

- k8 - if we were getting k8 tea I hoped for a FULL reveal of Bitch K8™️. Instead we got a lot of her and her facial expressions (there were several examples at least where he assumed something about k8s opinion bc of her face, or something she DIDNT do or say - eg her face at the lipgloss she didn’t respond when he made a comment about Lizs crown being trapped in the tower, she didn’t invite him around to dinner, she clutched the leather seat!). Tbh if anything IMO he kinda stans k8 & she comes off the best (og Wales fam) royal

- Henri is a very sensitive chap and sees everything as a slight towards him (facial expressions, cam making his room a closet, the list goes on). Obvi this comes from being the SPARE but it’s also like Henri bb, it’s not all about u. And maybe just maybe ur fam were bored of ur voice sometimes

- All the windsor women and wives (apart from Soph bc she’s not in it) are pretty iconic in this book if u ask me. And yes I’m including meg! We have Ghost Di popping up at every opportunity. politically a lot of critique that i have to think about. character and plot wise it was pretty good and tight esp for a kids show. amazing female characters. can't wait for the bi agenda from LoK but i may take a while for that. p much i have to say these are great characters and i could talk a lot about them but i'm shocked at what i took away with regards to the romantic rships from the show and the characterization via it.

re love lines:

i wish kataang was written better in the show (MY opinion if any1 stumbles upon this). i don't ~ship~ zutara bc i am an adult and even back then no cos who cares lol but i see the appeal and am attracted to that. i do think we have to retire the trope of the "both sides but falling in love" not because it isn't possible but because post 10/7 (free palestine) i don't think it's worth it to look at it this way anymore. until someone proves themselves not worthy of death because of the resistance fighting back then they NEED TO PROVE THEMSELVES IMMEDIATELY. no more of this i'm in a concentration camp but he's a nazi bullshit. no more i'm a slave but he's the slave master's son (i mean in this case u could have been related but no1 listens to me!) it's repetitive, reductive, and untrue.

that being said: i just never care about the typical bildungsroman love story. you see the One Person bc i guess the kids tasked with saving the world have to be monk-adjacent (in aang's case quite literally) bc understandably theyre so fucked up lol. but it's always sooooo boring to me esp if it's f/m.

katara is such a complex character and mae whitman brings a wisdom to her voice that can be frustrating to connect with for me but her character arc, her strength, her MIND, her heart, and her fists. i think ppl probs like zutara the most when shes' going batshit and no one can understand aang's perspective. but aang is one of a kind and the cutest smartest sweetest loser ever. not my fav char but i love him. he's like if i had a younger brother and not an older one lmao.

of course they're (kataang) together. they were meant to be from the moment they saw e/o and that stupid cave kiss...this is why you don't wait until 32 to watch this lol.

but nothing surprised me and it was meant to be the way it was written. that's also why i find it understandable but shocking people in the universe and apparently outside of it were surprised at aang's turmoil over ozai. like are you joking? he's a 12 year old vegetarian monk. which: i loved his vegetarianism and obviously he was going to be but very casually they put in a line that hints as to why he would be and why many of us are...so i am dedicated to it again.

so wrt that and zutara...the episode where he's with her with the dude that killed her moms and his support of her i can see why people like them. the cave ep obviously but this show is veryyyyy free with affection i noticed and there's some jealousy but they all get over that pretty quickly. i read some of the comics and i could see different rships happening and i definitely think this world lends to queerness (me personally i love monogamy but a certain type lol so not rly interested in much poly but i do like a throuple) but i could see most being bi+ or having identified as that in the past, or labeling themselves but nto limiting. that's just an aside for meee...

so like katara was being katara. i could see suki and zuko being romantic but also a deep friendship that could be deeply affectionate either affect or physically or both bc that's who these ppl are. katara is a very intense person and that's part of why she can be annoying. that's part of why they ALL can be overwhelming. theyre intense, traumatized, repressed kids and teens with mostly good hearts (or just a person so disconnected from herself but also a fascist so u know. her going nuts lol)
