“What does love feel like, angel?”
“Well, it’s warm.”
“Right.”
“And it’s bright.”
“Right.”
“And sometimes, it takes you by surprise and breathing becomes the most difficult feat. Sometimes, you flush hot, and sometimes, just sometimes, it hurts too, a stubborn ache in your heart. Oh, but I’ve said enough.” Aziraphale looks down at his hands, then quietly, impossibly, he asks, “What, do you think it feels like?”
Crowley stills, thinking:
I imagine, that’s how I feel about you.

okay so you just put this in your most recent post so now i’m really curious, what are your thoughts on kuron? what specifically makes you say he’s a good iteration of shiro? /gen
oooou okay thank you for asking. i covered this a little bit in this essay here, but i'll sum up the most important bit from that essay (in relation to this topic):
"Lastly — and this turned out to be less relevant to the essay than I expected, but I do want to go over it a tad — is Shiro’s tie to humanity. I mentioned two important points: Shiro’s connection to mortality makes him the most intimate with his humanity out of all the characters, and he is undoubtedly the flattest character of them all. That is, if you don’t consider his clone to be part of his character.
But I’m begging you to reconsider. Reconsider, perhaps, who the clone is — Haggar had pure access to Shiro for a year, you remember. His thoughts, his dreams, his mannerisms, his priorities, his body. Even him at his most human, his most deranged, his most scared. She had Shiro then. She had Shiro when he had nothing to look forward to. She had Shiro when he hurt his crew to make sure they would live, at direct cost to himself.
She stripped him of his humanity — his connection to his own mortality. She took his illness from him. And who, then, did she return to the team? Who was clone? Shiro, mostly. The clone was happy to play with the team. The clone was clever. The clone believed, fully, that he was Shiro, only he was angrier and meaner, a little, and less capable of shoving down his own pain. Shiro, stripped of his tie to humanity and mortality, stripped of his compulsive need to be strained and stressed and the one everyone else can rely on, the Role rather than the Person, is emotional. He has flaws and outbursts. He can’t manage his own pain. He is is cruelest to the one person on the team — Lance — who canonically reminds him closest of himself.
Shiro, in the purest form that Haggar can make him, is flawed and self-hating. That is where our love for him comes. Not the man who pushes himself down at the same time as he sacrifices his personality to be someone for others, but the man who is struggling and can’t keep it locked down. That’s where it comes from."
so! what does this mean.
shiro, as a character, does not get to choose and form his own identity. first he is the Garrison Poster Boy -- and while he is a pilot, an explorer, and happy to do both of those things, he is uncomfortable with (largely lance's) hero worship. he both a) doesn't believe he deserves it, and b) is not happy in that role. we see it in the "blam blam blam" scene -- he is trapped in the 'hero' role because he is trapped in a role of Perfection, and he is not perfect, and it grates on him. second he is the Champion -- and while he did force himself to be the Champion by injuring the Holts, it is a sacrifice. being a sacrifice is not the same as choosing a role. third, he is the Paladin of the Black Lion (not the Black Paladin, for deeper analysis on my thoughts there please read this essay and maybe this one too honestly) -- he tries to escape that role from the very beginning. i know i keep pushing yall towards the essay but i genuinely do discuss shiro's role in it, but i'll reiterate:
"...from the very beginning, he set up a replacement for himself.
Doesn’t that strike anyone else as odd? I haven’t seen the show in five years, and I don’t plan on rewatching, but I do remember that every moment with Shiro almost had this underlying tension. The closest thing I have to canon off the top of my head is the Handbook (which I had to stop reading because they did everyone SO dirty there, even though some of it was honestly pretty funny), which was released in S2, and even that incredibly early canon talked about Keith replacing Shiro!
Tumblr media
From the very beginning, Shiro was planning an out to his role. He knew it was not meant for him. He did the role well, but it was not his to do."
shiro does not want that fucking role. every single second we see him on screen, as Shiro Original, he is shouldering a burden. he is being someone he does not want to be. not to give voltron any credit, but don't you think it's interesting that he, as a character, comes out to the audience as queer when he is...free from those roles? when he is no longer the Garrison Poster Boy (i.e. lance stops the hero worship), no longer the Champion (haggar is defeated), no longer the Paladin of the Black Lion (keith is now the Black Paladin)...we see him come out. we see him, as it is often called, "be true to himself". to me, this signals that he is finally free from playing someone he is not, and interestingly, this came after kuron -- after he maybe got to be something he truly was.
aside from the more abstract analysis, shiro is deeply, deeply traumatized! it is inane to expect him to be the same person he was. why on earth would he have the same patience during/post war as pre-war? he knows now that hesitance gets people killed. if he had hesitated to hurt matt, matt would have died. if he hesitates out on the field, people die. patience yields focus, sure, but he hasn't had time for patience in god knows how long. any patience he has is, if it has not already torn, wearing thin. lance's lightheardness, although important, is bound to make him snap, especially because shiro used to be the lighthearted one -- if he was still the lighthearted one, people would die. on his conscious. his snappiness at lance, while inappropriate and damaging, makes total sense. it comes from a place of a) deep self-hatred/mistrust and b) trauma.
to quote myself again -- "shiro, in the purest form haggar can make him, is flawed and self-hating". take away shiro's roles, take away his masks, take away any of his responsibilities that have shaped his life for him -- who is he? would he be angry (like kuron)? would he be hurting (like kuron)? would he be vulnerable (like kuron)? would he, for the first time, reach out and ask for help (like kuron)?
i think he would.

Qian Jin
Hello and sorry. I’m here again with my “catch the details faster than the frame changes.” Let's talk about Qian Jin! I'm pretty sure we'll learn new information in the next episode because of the flashback, so I want to get ahead of things a little and play bingo ;)
SPOILERS FOR S2
Tumblr media
1. Romeo and Juliet Many have discussed this, but we will go deeper. One of the main key points in the s2 is the Romeo and Juliet theme and poster, which we now know is related to Qian Jin's story.
Tumblr media
In my opinion, his whole scene with the poster looked very personal, hardly just "symbolism" of his feelings after losing his wife or something like that. And here I will try to explain why. Because, most likely, the actress on the poster is Qian Jin's wife. Her name was shown for such a brief moment that I actually nearly lost my mind while trying to capture the frame. So, her name is probably Chen Nan (陈楠). And I really don't think it was necessary to include such details if they are minor.
Tumblr media
Well. Pure speculations. We all remember that initially everything was wrong with the case, the suspect in the murder of Qian Jin‘s wife after some time committed suicide and left a note with a confession. Although I can read some words, I can't rely on my eyes, so I can't string them together into complete sentences. But what I can guess is that there are two characters in the signature, and the surname kinda looks like Zhuang (庄).
Tumblr media
So. Which character also has the surname Zhuang, who has already been "shown" in the series… On the same poster of "Romeo and Juliet", where the actress, theoretically, was Qian Jin's wife… Yeah. Zhuang Shuai (庄帅)
Tumblr media
Okay, this could all be a coincidence, my imagination, speculation. But is these details actually connected, for now, until this has been refuted, I suspect that the story of the murder of Qian Jin's wife was much more personal and deep. Like, now we are convinced that after he found out about Cheng Xiaoshi's ability, his motivation is obviously to capture Cheng Xiaoshi in order to rewrite the past. Likely to save his wife (?). But I'm not sure how much more complex it will be?
Tumblr media
If any of this is confirmed, I rather think that Qian Jin's wife was killed by Zhuang Shuai out of jealousy. I also need to say, for now I don't think that 戴绿帽子 is a possible situation here, seems TOO cruel for me, but who knows.
2. Qian Jin and details Eyes. We were all confused because Qian Jin's eyes were not common, but icy yellow. In fact, his eyes can be said to have three states. I also note that sometimes pupils are not drawn or too small because of 2D graphics, so I take into account only obvious close-ups. First type: present, yellow eyes with a vertical pupil. We see that kind of his eyes in most of his scenes. The same type of eyes are in his character design pictures and intro.
Tumblr media
Second type: present, yellow with a round pupil. This type of eyes appears specifically in episode 4.
Tumblr media
(Technically) third type: the past, yellow eyes with a round pupil. In all the close-up scenes in flashbacks, his pupils are round.
Tumblr media
Abilities: It's hard to guess, but at the moment I don't think he personally has any special abilities. It seems to me, given his one line, that Qian Jin relies more on his skills, plans and his people, treating abilities (at least in this situation) in a rather lenient way. Also, his real words sound more special and poetic - If there is a way to reach the sky, it will be difficult to fly away even with wings (friendly reminder, I'm not a translator or native speaker)
Tumblr media
But there is one dubious detail. OK. Speaking of gloves, he probably uses gloves to avoid accidentally touching Li Tianchen and getting controlled, which is a pretty logical conclusion after episode 8. But. At some point, while talking to Li Tianchen, when the frame points to Qian Jin, there is a rather small movement of the hand and the sound of either the rustle of clothes, or the sound of something being handed over (ep 7, 1:22-1:28). This was weird.
Tumblr media
This may be a trick, but at some point, when it gets to 7pm, Qian Jin claps his hands. And given to Cheng Xiaoshi's abilities, we know that clapping can be a means of activating/disabling an ability.
Tumblr media
Speculation: Since we can't fully rely on changing the shape of the eyes, pupil, eye color, due to the change in visual "rules" compared to season 1 + animation errors, but for now I'll make assumptions.
In fact, in some of these scenes, Qian Jin may be possessed by Cheng Xiaoshi (which is trite, but possible)
Someone uses their abilities on Qian Jin, they are in cooperation. This person either possess him either they watches events through Qian Jin's eyes from time to time, as if through a camera.
Qian Jin gave something to Li Tianchen in the car, and that will play a role in the plot.
The change of eyes is an attempt to show the change in his personality, but I don't think it's that simple.
3. Something beyond my understanding
The man with a hat. They are obviously connected, and I already wrote a big theory about this, if the man in the hat turns out to be Liu Xiao, let's not dwell on this, if you want to read, click on - Person in the shadows.
Tumblr media
Dates In his intro, although there is some information, as always, the year is not indicated. Obviously, the current year is still 2021 (according to s1). But in the second season, we are not shown specific dates anywhere (even with the twins, although we can find out their year of birth by literally subtracting 19), and here. There is an event, there is a blurry date. Not specified. I guess something is wrong with time already or is this a hint that it doesn’t matter, because the events are looped / will be erased.
Tumblr media
Player and music And probably the most ??????? thing. When Qian Jin is in the car, there is a VERY short frame before he takes the call. If you catch it... here is a player on the screen. The music is Symphony of Fate (生命交响乐). And the player does not have a "back" button, only forward.
Tumblr media
Time is like music, yeah. Thank you for reading once again ~ I hope episode 9 gives us more information and answers some questions though… *cries*. Feel free to discuss!

please note that this is a pre-s2 masterpost; new one can be found here.
contrary to popular belief i am actually capable of writing up genuine theories about s2, but they are still wonderfully feral and unhinged in both tone and nature, so voila welcome to ✨rhi's crackpot speculation/meta masterpost✨ featuring some very special guests that are way more insightful and clever than me
note: contains spoilers
d-day edit: lmao let's sort this shitpit out🍲
old post-s2/s3-relevant metas etc but they didn't make it to the final cut of the new masterpost:
BIT NERVOUS about this being linked but fuck it, i didn't like the first two eps INITIALLY but in my defence i learnt the error of my ways and consider it to have been prime's fault
thoughts on s3 in the immediate aftermath
i heard you calling from across the ether for some whump material so i wrote some
also i meta-girlbossed a bit too close to the sun with recontextualising the lion/adam/eve parallels in s1e1 now that we know what we know about aziraphale and crowley pre-fall
someone shared their opinion about the playlists with me then i blacked out and when i came to there was meta
i got big feelings™ about the argument clip in that aziraphale is honestly just a nice man doing his fucking best (not a prediction but just a wee rant)
s2 live commentaries bc im sorry reading these back is GOLD:
episode 1/2 (lumped together bc i went to a screening) (also neil liked this and i feel exposed the poor guy had to read this??? over all the other somewhat intelligent stuff on my blog??? this is what he went for???? man's WILD ✨)
episode 3
episode 4
episode 5
episode 6 (lmao)
and then basically anything else, mostly all pre-s2 so have a read and laugh at me, it's ok honest
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
this one made me tear up a bit because i live on a diet of bagels and aziraphale/crowley biblical whump material LMAO AM I APOLLO????
(as amended) the one where my entire theory on aziraphale and crowley's angst for s2 is predicted based on the length of his ridiculous (see: delicious) sideburns
an earlier musing on the plot of like the first three episodes (fuck it let's be real i'm just blueprinting a fanfic in this post)
by all accounts crowley is not, in fact, james bond
the second coming gets fucked up bc gabriel is a pussy ass bitch
✨✨SDCC/NYC✨✨ people pls read this and talk to me about it bc I'm losing it everyone else just shh and read silently for a minute ill get to you in a sec okay id still love to know what happened at the sdcc screening but i went to my own one in the uk and what i saw has done nothing to dissuade me from this theory im sorry
lol haven't updated this post in a hot minute but this is the SMOOCHY prediction
i told y'all crowley was getting hit by the cozzy livs and now my boy has to work in a pub, liz truss i hope ur happy
if i must suffer then you must suffer also thems the rules
✨✨live feed of my breakdown over the episode titles✨✨
a wee romantic shitpost about ep5 but im adding it in here for posterity bc if this does happen im going to simply decease
this was birthed from the above but with ep2(?) spoiler context
IS GOOB JESUS?????
i have a sinking feeling that crowley may be a double agent and honestly that's not very james bond of him
segue from the above, someone really cleverly came up with the thought after the wanted posters that crowley is involved in hell descending on the bookshop to get gabriel and was rewarded with duke of hell (hence the art of him on a throne) and i latched on like a fucking barnacle
I cry
(also as amended lmao) my rhetoric on how unequipped aziraphale is to handle intense gay panic god bless this mess this lil funky dude
i have now done so many speculation posts about the 40s that it feels like groundhog day but if prime insist on feeding me 40s content then that's their own damn fault (but this one is the most recent and where I'm currently at so read this one first)
(older) a tinfoil hat inspection of anything related to ww2!husbands, magician aziraphale, and the Dinner of '41
(older again) extended-Dinner of '41 analysis in the context of s1e3
once upon a time aziraphale and crowley fucked up the ineffable plan by not getting together in 1941 and god wasn't happy about it and everything went tits up, the end
a simple humble commentary on how the trailer was put together and a warning to not trust a single thing prime tells us
okay it's not s2 related but i had a bit of wine and a small heartbreak over their first meeting in the beginning and now any other method of therapy is redundant
and last but certainly not least (not for the moment anyway, there's a few more feet to descend before we truly scrape the bottom of the unholy barrel that is my psyche) we encounter the deranged, manic, unbalanced and frankly disturbed commentary i birthed in response to The Spoiler
enjoy, my boos ✨

Welcome, my dear humans to this... rambling?
Yes, I think that´s probably it. I´m just going to analise the Good Omens Season 2 Opening, talk about a few things that caught my attention, do some innacurate predictions and probably make more questions that are not gonna be solved (not even when the season actually gets released).
That being said, I apologise for tha will I´m about to write. But I had nowhere else to write it, so bear with me, okay?
Tumblr media
Okay, we begin with a sequence pretty similar to the opening for the first season. Where´s this? I wonder.
But there´s two things that inmediately caught my attention, as Crowley and Aziraphale begin their particular procession across the fields.
The first one, there´s a person walking with a box on their hands. That same box has a couple of arrows signaling upwards and I can tell it´s also the same symbol we saw on at least one of the promotional posters of GO S2. So it´s probably the thing Gabriel had to deliver, if we go with theories plus what was said in the sneak peeks.
The second thing here... Why are here so many goats? Is this a hell reference?
Tumblr media
So now we set the goats on fire because why not, and there´s a building on the top right that gives me ancient roman vibes (nevermind me guys, the clear thing here is that we´re soon all going to hell and more people will join the charade).
Tumblr media
We keep going to a cementery now with people following the angel and demon and there´s a few tombstones with eyecatching things written on them.
"Jane Austen", says in one and I wonder why.
"Here lies the former shell of Beelzebub", in another (which clearly makes reference to the fact they changed the actress for that part).
"Everyday", in reference to the song.
And also "Here lies Adam"...
Wait, Adam? What the actual f-
Tumblr media
Anyway, so now they finally descend to hell and I can just tell by the chair and computer set in there what whoever has that administrative job is not getting paid enough for this shit.
Tumblr media
Back up in the Earth I´m finally able to spot Muriel (sorry guys, I´m real shit to spot characters in these things) and we´re clearly in the middle of World War II, as you can see by the Winston Churchill signs and all the destructive ambience very fit for that historical period.
Now, what I wanted to talk about was the movie that´s being announced, "Stairway to Heaven". I´m going to leave down here the summary because I think it might be interesting:
"Returning to England from a bombing run in May 1945, pilot Peter Carter's plane is damaged and his parachute ripped to shreds. He has his crew bail out safely, but figures it is curtains for himself. He gets on the radio, and talks to June, a young American woman working for the U.S. Army Air Forces, and they are quite moved by each other's voices. Then he jumps, preferring this to burning up with his plane. He wakes up in the surf. It was his time to die, but there was a mix-up in heaven. They couldn't find him in all that fog. By the time his "Conductor" catches up with him twenty hours later, Peter and June have met and fallen in love. This changes everything, and since it happened through no fault of his own, Peter figures that heaven owes him a second chance. Heaven agrees to a trial to decide his fate."
So we got a miracle, a romance and heaven and hell involved in conflict... Does it sound familiar to you?
Tumblr media
As we keep walking rabbits start to fall from the sky and I feel as we approach the theater the time has come for Aziraphale to do his so much awaited magic show.
So, there´s a few things to point out here as well.
For starters, the posters of The Ladies of Camelot (that I´m guessing are the showgirls), those same ladies joining the procession and... have you noticed this is the first time in these openings where Aziraphale is not walking with Crowley but joining him later at the stage, dressed as magician?
And so here goes one of my crazy theories: what if the scene in the trailer where we see Aziraphale surprised at the theatre is because he´s surprised Crowley arrived? Surely we also see a whadow before him and it could also be something completely different and scary... But then again, if what Aziraphale is seeing at that second is real bad stuff, why are the showgirls in the background looking amused?
Tumblr media
The theater curtain opens and we get this scene when, again for the first time, Crowley and Aziraphale fly together. Like, literally together, not one after the other as until now.
Wasn´t Crowley proposing to run away to another galaxy together last season? (ah, of course they´re not going to do that now, they got things to do on Earth).
But I´m hopeful we can see where these people were before the beginning of times, before the Eden, when Crowley was still an angel and helped creating galaxies. I read somewhere a theorie that he might be Raphael or (and I thing this is more plausible) someone close to Raphael. So yes, we´ll see where this goes...
Tumblr media
Back on Earth we can see Crowley and Aziraphale sitting together on the bookshop roof and, have I mentioned since the space thingy now are raining hearts? What is this? And who was the genius who thought putting "Give me coffee or give me death" to a coffee shop was a good idea? (ah, we all know this and we love Neil for it, just saying).
Anyway, I´m so glad to see the Bentley again. And all those discs... Will it be so important the constant repetition of the song Everyday? Why? And had it something to do with the fact Crowley´s car has a similar problem and no matter what CD he puts it always plays a Queen song?
Tumblr media
People´s announcing the "Second Coming" which could very well be a reference of Season 2 and we don´t need to panic yet.
But there´s a lot of elevators here, with angels inside, so we can fairly guess it´s time to go to heaven (and it´ll probably be the last stop).
Tumblr media
But before that, and notice that no one in this procession uses an elevator, they get to this cinema where "The Arrival" is screening.
Could it be a reference of the movie of the same title or just a hint because the first episode of this season is titled like that? I´m gonna go for this last theorie, because it makes more sense to me.
The same symbol (arrows pointing upwards) that were in Gabriel´s box are now here in the screen...
Tumblr media
Finally, all these people get to heaven not by the usual system (the elevators) but by some stairs and under it there´s a lot of stuff piled that I´m not going to analise because I basically blind at this point (my fault, don´t cancel me).
Can I guess here there´ll be more conspiracies with heaven involved?

i love how the duffers created Mike simply by going “how can gay can we write this man while still having people think he’s straight”. like even mike’s obvious feelings for will ASIDE, Mike is still shown to be Not Straight (and personally imo, gay) TM
mike, making a disgusted face when dustin talks about phoebe cates + how hot she is.
mike, making a very similar face that he did during the phoebe cates scene + looking more confused after El kissed him in s3 than he did when holding a literal interdimensional space slug in s2.
mike, who as finn said, is oblivious to will’s feelings for him + who physically pushed Troy for making homophobic comments about will + therefore is unlikely to throw those sort of comments at Will + therefore had to be projecting for the ‘it’s not my fault you don’t like girls’ scene.
mike, having a scene in s4 where the word ‘women’ is right beside his head as he makes a disturbed/upset expression. this could be a coincidence if this wasn’t the same set design/production team who gave us things like the arcade lightning bolt turning from yellow to green for a byler scene specifically. who gave us things like a ‘learning English’ book with the number 11 on it to foreshadow El talking about her English classes in s4. who put a drawing of a panda on el’s desk in s3 to foreshadow the restaurant that Robin points out when she cracks the code (international panda is the restaurant name). who have given us thousands about thousands of tiny, intricate pieces of set design to foreshadow things. they set up these shots in a certain way for a reason, they don’t just decorate them randomly/the sets don’t come pre-decorated. they set all of it up. they choose where to place actors and why. they choose which scenes to film and why. they choose which scenes to edit out. the word “women” didn’t just pop up in a scene of Mike looking upset/talking specifically about ‘bullshit media propaganda’ and lies/things not being as they appear randomly. they chose to put it there, and chose to film that specific scene with Mike right there. they’re not just winging production.
el: has photos of mike up all around her room mike: has no photos of el in his room but DOES have a giant beefy dragon man poster
the GA: mhm. that’s a straight man. straight as a board. a heterosexual. that is eleven’s straight boyfriend. that man who literally projected not liking girls onto will despite having no idea about Will’s feelings for him? he is a heterosexual and he is just trying to let will down gently or is weirded out by Will’s feelings for him.
like my point is, even OUTSIDE of his very obvious feelings for will specifically, which lots of the GA likes to brush off as friendship, Mike behaves in a very Not Straight TM way. He doesn’t show interest in girls aside from El. He looks visibly disturbed when talking about women like phoebe cates. his ability to display romantic affection to el decreases as she begins to dress more typically ‘femininely’. He projects and tries to call Will out for ‘not liking girls,’ when what Will’s actually upset about is feeling ignored + dismissed.
we see characters like dustin having crushes on girls (max) and then getting into a different relationship. but we don’t see that from Mike. we just see him rush into a relationship with El. El, who at the time of starting a relationship with mike, knew basically nothing about romance/romantic love + then proceeded to learn about it from romance movies. El, who literally asked mike if he would ‘be like her brother,’ before he kissed her.
El, who looks very similar to Will to the point where that guy from the police station who saw her thought that she could be Will. Mike, who as Lucas said, is just “glad that a girl isn’t grossed out by him.” He’s not even making fun of mike for seemingly having a crush, unlike the banter that we see between lucas and dustin about max. he’s making fun of mike because he doesn’t buy for a second that mike is actually into el, and rather, is just happy to be receiving a positive reaction rather than a negative one.  El, who i’m sure mike cares about platonically, but imo, based on what we see in the show, never loved romantically, and Mike, who displays no attraction to girls other than one who has a strange connection + multiple physical similarities to his gay best friend + who Mike struggles to display affection towards as El a.) develops more of her own personality, making it more difficult for mike to project his feelings for will onto her, and b.) as El dresses more stereoptyically ‘femininely’.  Even though mike calls el ‘pretty,’ in her dress, that absolutely does not indicate romantic attraction. Especially since we see mike admit in the living room that “yeah, i guess,” when El says that nancy is ‘pretty’. If the GA thinks that Mike saying that El looks ‘pretty,’ indicates romantic attraction, then they also believe that mike is romantically attracted to nancy, since he agreed that she was ‘pretty.’ Which is weird as hell. People can absolutely think that people they’re attracted to are pretty- but at the same time, telling someone they’re pretty or even thinking they’re pretty does not automatically indicate romantic attraction. Especially since she was clearly struggling with self-image and Mike is a kind person who noticed that and wanted to help.  Hell, this is anecdotal, but i’m a gay dude and I’m definitely still capable of thinking that women are pretty! I’m just not attracted to them and have no desire to be in a relationship with one- but i’m capable of recognizing beauty, like how i’m capable of recognizing that a piece of art is beautiful!
gee it’s almost like mike’s projecting his feelings for will onto el (especially considering the supernatural bond that will and el have going on), and projecting his insecurities onto will (it’s not my fault you don’t like girls, airport hug) and yknow. not straight. even when we take mike’s feelings for will out of the equation, he’s still very clearly written as not straight.  like this isn’t even a full fruity mike analysis. this is just a rant off the top of my head. if the duffers intended for mike to be straight, which im certain that they didn’t, but even if they SOMEHOW did, then they absolutely failed because this is the gayest ‘straight’ man i’ve ever seen.

I like how different people's interpretation can be in this. because i also thought el and mike had a more superficial attraction toward one another based on physhical attraction on the show and what the show told to us (i mean... the whole s3 thing was just them being physically attracted to each other but not doing anything together that wouls develop their relationship). So mike read to me like a boy who was mesmerized by this girl he met and they are attracted to each other (like think of ron and lavender thing from hp) but theyre portrayed as superficial and incompitable so they arent meant to last. So i agree with the bisexual reading honestly. 😅 it sounds like a first attraction and love type of thing and it is pretty common in fiction.
Yeah exactly, I think it's a "puppy love" and first crush type of situation where they do like each other more physically but then when it comes to the real relationship the understanding is lacking, a bit like Steve and Nancy, they do still have physical attraction but they want different things for the future ( although I'm fearing the Duffers will make them end up together in the last time jump (only if Jonathan dies) because Steve developed as a character but I hope I'm wrong in this )
For how things are now and how Mike talked in the van I don't have any reason to think he's been hiding being gay all this time or lying to El and Will so that's the only explanation I ( me, personally ) see as possible for now taking in consideration everything I know and how I interpret the scenes and the context outside of the show too...
You can have many interpretations though, this is just what convinced me the most after volume 2 because I found it fits the story and it's pretty linear with what I see- I think El is the one that's gonna want to break up first even the second time they break up but this time it will be for good and it wouldn't surprise me if Mike took this kind of badly because he's tying his self esteem to her needing him and that's not healthy, I think Mike has some growing up to do still, even the scene where Hopper tells him "you've grown", that was supposed to be a nice scene to say him being vulnerable with El and confessing his feelings for her even if he's afraid she's gonna leave him means he's grown, doesn't feel really earned because Mike's fear didn't actually happen yet, he maybe matured a little doing that but it still feels like when in s2 we think El got over her trauma with Brenner but then they brought it back because she didn't actually confront that fear in the face for real... She did it in s4 and really understood that she's not a monster but she has some growing up to do too in the next season to conclude that journey by becoming only herself without having to be the superhero!
I think we'll see Mike having to do a lot of self reflection next season (and even if he is gay I don't think he understands that yet tbh so he will have some revelation lol) and I'd like to see him talk about it with Nancy I think it would be really sweet if he tries to explain how he feels to her and she's the one to say the word bisexual "like Bowie" (she has Jonathan's poster in her room in s4) I feel like it would also show Nancy's journey because in s1 she said that thing about Will and now she's the one that basically brings them together in the last season!!!

Regarding the Our Skyy2 theories today was Aprils Fool and a lot of account faked things like translations and turned themselves to look like actors twitter account, there were also a fake Our Skyy2 account! so maybe some of the stuff circulating since yesterday is fake?🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 either way I have to say that if MSP has a swapped lifes as their main plot... I am not amused😒 tho this is the only one that seems to have a somewhat of a supernatural theme even tho they had VV tho maybe the supernatural theme is gonna come back in VV? we shall see tho I am now kinda scared...
The Twitter theories on Our Skyy2 are getting out of hand lol!
I get that everybody is excited about it but I really don't want any crossover! I am sorry but keep each episode dedicated to each show I just want to see my silly little couples be cute and sweet and NO BODYSWAPS I am OVER them 2 last year was already too many!
I saw some people say that based on how the couple where positioned in the poster the one diagona to them is the one they have a crossover with? and they where probably joking I hope cuz NO!
Other theories or more like hopes are that they will not do certain things because they want to wait for season2 like: The Eclipse not using the second novel and going for original content(the author said he was non involved in the script and production of Our Skyy2 and that it does not involve any storyline from the new book), or the MSP boys still being highschoolers because they will be uni students in s2 tho I think this is just them coping with the end of a show they like(me with Eclipse lol)
The only theory I like are the ones over who proposes to whom lol
Either way the episodes are pretty much done so we can only wait and at this point it could pretty much come a lot sooner! I just hope they air it 2 eps per week like MLC or Midnight Museum cuz 16 weeks of this is too much! we already had SIMM and SIYH that lasted 18 WEEKS! between the main series and thw special episodes and that is too much especially for a compilation of special episodes.
IF that life swap thing is true, I have to ask... WHY?? Why would you do that? Msp is literally one of the easiest shows to do an Our Skyy episode on because they finished high school at the end of the series, meaning all they had to do was show them in college (like maybe the Chinzhilla guys all come back home for the break between semesters and they all meet up again) and them being cute and thriving. Why is this life swap thing necessary? Frankly, I don’t want shit like that in msp so these spoilers are doing the opposite of getting me excited. 😑
-------------------------------------------------------------
well I sure hope these theories are an April fool's joke because I'm done with all of them lmao.
I don't really feel like talking about this anymore lol so all I'm gonna say is that I still hate body swaps so please spare us @ gmm 😩 and even if it's just a life swap, I don't want that either.
The only episode where I could tolerate something supernatural is Vice Versa because that would fit the show's original genre so if puen & talay end up swapping something - whatever it is - then so be it. I would be somewhat fine with that I guess lol. But the rest? nah.
All I want for this show is 8 cute little episodes full of fluff and carelessness because god knows all of these couples went through enough in their respective shows lmao. all of them have the foundation to give us something cute so,,,, is that too much to ask.

I am drunk on ‘I connected the dots’ energy rn but like forgive the incoherency because I NEED TO SHARE— so I was staring at the posters again and my thought process was: first poster had a crack running through Claudia’s face + second poster has the crack running through Rayla’s face… So, what does a crack signify? Injury? Loss of self? And then it hit me like lightning.
Crack in face = split personality.
And so, my take on the fake Rayla theory is that fake Rayla is not fake at all, but real Rayla who is under the control of Claudia.
That’s why Rayla comes back to the castle so easily, without having killed Viren, looking relatively calm and collected and not very conflicted at all - which felt so odd to many because it felt so out of character for her self-loathing and self-sacrificial self. But you know who it does seem in character for? Claudia. Compare to the way Claudia acts with the boys after the first betrayal in s2. The easy way she talks to them, as if they’re still friends. The lack of guilt. The dark mage cloak.
That’s why Rayla looks real but her actions feel off. It’s her body, but Claudia’s controlling it.
That’s why the story can have Rayla reunite with the boys without making her leaving narratively pointless. Because Rayla is not coming back of her own free will, she’s still midst development arc with her incorrect beliefs. (And what better way to teach her a lesson about leaving her loved ones ostensibly to protect them, than to have her used against them?)
That’s why Callum’s emotions/words/actions on seeing her again won’t be wasted. Because Rayla will still be able to witness all of them, even if she can’t choose how her body responds.
That’s why the first thing we see her with is the cube, why we later see Callum clutching her sword. Because this is how Aaravos is choosing to use her, not an illusion, the real her, to lure Callum in.
I’m writing this on 0 hours of sleep after having the ‘crack face = split personality’ maybe-epiphany so I’m sure there are a dozen holes in this theory but damn if it’s not the only thing that I think makes total narrative sense for Rayla both coming back (physically) and not coming back (willingly) at the same time.
Tumblr media
Listen I always love people coming into my inbox unhinged bc I feel like I'm always unhinged about this show, these days, and I deeply appreciate the solidarity. However I am nothing if not a nitpicker which is to say:
Rayla is nervous to see Callum, it's just not the closeup shot they chose
Tumblr media
And Claudia did show remorse around the boys post-betrayal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was reflecting on it today and I think I may have figured out why Rayla's come back (plot inciting incident wise that also works with everything characterization wise) that I'm going to make a larger post about after this or once I corral my thoughts about it, anyway.
But her absence is two-fold: it's the catalyst for both her emotional arc and a driving force behind Callum's, too. They both need to be resolved and be resolved together (pointedly because it was a separation, tbh).
The biggest narrative weight behind Rayla's absence has always been 1) the way reconnecting with Callum after will force her to reckon with the fucked up ways of thinking that led her to leave in the first place and 2) the emotional toll it's taken on Callum. Prior to this, one of his biggest motivations from S2 onwards was to not lose her (2x07 with dark magic, so much of S3 and the climax of arc 1 itself, TTM). Now he's lived through that. He's lost her once. I expect a decent amount of S4 to focus on what he's willing to do in order to not lose her again - and by exploring that, give her choice to leave the emotional weight it deserves, tbh
Because Rayla can still be used against her loved ones and still see Callum be put in danger because of her, and can still have her epiphanies, you know... if we go the CHET route

two things:
(1) have you seen One Piece the live-action version?? there's some characters you would ✨️love✨️-love there. ive been into OP since i was roughly 10 years old so, im not new to the source material and i prefer the source to SOME of the stuff in the live-action (my biggest complaints have to do with CGI/practical effects limitations tho, which is fine ultimately (i want more anime/manga-accurate fight scenes and i want more the fishmen species to be HUGE again, esp Aarlong, rather than human-height) and everything else i have a complaint with can be retroactively fixed in the second season should we ever get one (Garp is more carefree in the anime/manga, but he was HARSH in the past, so just have s2 be "and thats why i let things go more now" and how Luffy is weirdly focused on "being good" when he didnt REALLY have that focus in the source? his focus was more "being a good friend" and "protecting civillians" and otherwise he was p selfish and just wanted to do things he wanted. it just so happened what he wanted to do was help everyone be free to follow their dreams, but hes one of those "so selfish, its p selfless" people if that makes sense? idk. that can be easy to fix in s2 by just having Luffy be more "Because I wanted to" when its him being a good guy AND an asshole. also Zoro's patg to being loyal to Luffy was more clear-cut in the source; here they made it messier and harder to follow by NOT having Luffy be the one to get Zoro his swords, but nothing can be done about that and Zoro is clearly loyal by the Mihawk point so its fine i guess), but they do some really fun choices in the live-action i adore (have [redacted charcter]'s illness be due to a slow-acting poison Kuro had routinely dished out instead of "i was sick bc i was Depressed due to my parents dying"; the one kiss scene Oda allowed in his no-romance story; Garp and Zeff's whole 🌈vibe💅 together when talking meat; seeing Kody and Helmeppo slowly be friends; hAVING SANJI STILL BE HIS RIDICULOUS SELF BUT WITHOUT THE PERVINESS GAGS, LIKE HOLY FUCK YEAH; [redacted] being the one to give Luffy his first Wanted Poster; and so on and so forth) so i do recommend it to OP-fans and non-OP-fans alike. i think you would enjoy it in a campy way lol
and (2) if you are daydreaming about being a ranch-hand and working in agriculture, may i recommend you "Silver Spoon"? ive never seen the anime, but ive started the manga and it is GOOD. its about a directionless graduate deciding on agriculture school because he feels burnt-out and like a failure in his high-achieving academic route's pursuit. he starts off with a bit of a superiority complex against his peers but it gets curbed p quickly. its a funny manga with some really heartfelt moments, and has its own versions of the quiet beauty and profound thoughtfulness that Witch Hat Atelier has. its made by the same mangaka who made "Full-Metal Alchemist"! she wanted something less high-stakes immediately after FMA, and wanted to focus on her own agriculture background. it has a lot Comfort, Calming vibes. i like reading it when im stressed and need a bit of escapism. due to my own health (i have a condition that makes hard labor impossible for me to do without vomitting, esp if its in the sun, but ill puke in any weather if i over-exert myself), i cannot go into agriculture directly (maybe i could be an accountant or receptionist, idk, but i digress), so since you do actively daydream about joining agriculture and know that you could succeed there, i highly recommend it as something to live vicariously through (and maybe tempt you into the field? idk, im not in charge of what you do with your life. could change your mind on what career-paty you want, could just be fun to read, depends on you). admittingly, it has Less F/O Material in it, but ✨️i think✨️Ichiro Komaba is hot 💞 (tho Tamako Inada could also marry me without me complaining)
hope you check one or both out, if you havent already! no worries if youll take neither tho 🫶
I have seen OPLA!! I binged it about a few days or so after it came out because I kept seeing mutuals talk about it and I decided to give it a try! Ended up LOVING Sanji and Nami, but all the characters were so good and so well casted
I walked into it knowing nothing about OP so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I can definitely say that I enjoyed how serious certain parts got, like Zeff eating his own leg and Nami losing everything to Arlong once again and having a breakdown. (I also thought the makeup and physical costume for the fishmen were pretty good!)
And I’ll have to check out that recommendation <3 since I’m still in my first round of exams, most of my time is being taken up, but when I get a break I’ll try it out!

Billy Is A Christ Figure, a.k.a. He Will Die And RISE AGAIN
Tumblr media
This isn’t a radical statement. Literature and film teem with “Christ figures” who symbolically (or literally) die and rise again. Billy is just one of the Duffers’ additions to a long, venerated tradition.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
>>Billy’s story lines up with the Christ figure concept.
I really like how Christopher Lansdown explains it:
Christ figures in literature are - when done well - characters who relate to the rest of the story as Christ related to the world. [Salient features include...]
1. Saves the world from the effects of the misuse of free will. 2. Has a dual-nature where one of these natures is what allows #1. 3. Bridges the gap, in his person, between the two natures. 4. Sacrifices himself willingly for the sake of the world. 5. In sacrificing himself, takes the problems of the world into him and conquers them, thus saving the world from them. 6. Comes back from the sacrifice because of his other nature.
Billy’s storyline hits several of these notes already. First, he saves the world by sacrificing himself willingly. Second, he’s presented as having two natures: his corrupted monster-self (the bully in S2; the puppet of the Mind Flayer in S3) vs. his innocent child-self. (You could describe him as being human and divine too. I’ll get to that in another post.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he stands up to the Mind Flayer at Starcourt, he begins the process of integrating his two natures. That’s why he looks so childlike here: his innocent child-self is coming out for the first time in years.
All that’s left is for him to “come back from his sacrifice.”
Tumblr media
>>The Duffers infuse Billy with Christ symbolism.
The most obvious example, imo, is the special necklace they gave him. The genius @aeon-of-neon figured out that his necklace is a Lady of the Pillar medallion - i.e., a depiction of Mother Mary with baby Jesus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On its own, the necklace tells an incredible story. It suggests Billy is symbolically the Christ child, and at some point his mother - symbolically the Virgin Mary - had the medallion blessed to protect her son. (I think we all recognize Neil wouldn’t give a shit about protecting Billy.)
Tumblr media
The show reinforces that reading in subtle yet mind-blowing ways. In his last shot in S2, Billy is pictured in front of a Christmas tree. This associates him with the meaning of Christmas, which is the birth of a child who will save the world.
Tumblr media
In the sauna in S3, Billy passes in front of a poster for the Hawkins Fourth of July parade. A lot of people have latched onto the “American” symbolism here (as they should - I’ll address that in another post). I’ve even seen people talk about the stars on the poster giving him a crown of thorns or saintly halo. But I haven’t seen anyone mention that the poster gives him a crown of stars like Mary, Queen of Heaven.
Tumblr media
"A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads." (Revelation 12:1-3)
Combined with the necklace, this small detail suggests his mother, aka the Virgin Mary, is watching over him as he battles the Mind Flayer, aka the Dragon.
Now look at this screenshot again--
Tumblr media
See how prominent his necklace is in the frame? That’s not an accident. The Duffers had to direct and light this shot just right to achieve the desired effect. If you look closely, Dacre is standing in an awkward, unnatural position. I can practically hear the Duffers saying, “Shoulders forward, Dacre... a little more... now tuck in your abdomen and push your chest out... that’s it!” All while they’re trying to avoid getting too much light on the necklace. It needs to be well-lit but not washed out.
All that work was for a good cause. The shot suggests Billy’s mother is with him in his moment of sacrifice. He’s just reclaimed her memory, and now he’s honoring it as he lays down his life for the world.
Yeah, it hurts :)))) but there’s more to cover...
...such as Billy’s crucifixion poses.
The crucifixion pose is common enough in film that it gets its own entry on TVTropes. The first sentence of the entry? “It’s very common for a character who just performed a Heroic Sacrifice to be lying with their arms outstretched like the crucified Jesus.”
We see that with Billy multiple times.
Tumblr media
In the sauna, El lifts Billy in the air right before she deals the “death blow.” He hangs there for a moment, arms outstretched. My inner Christian teenager thinks of John 3:14-15: “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man [Jesus] be lifted up [on the cross], so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”
To really drive the point home, the Duffers put Billy in the crucifixion pose AGAIN, at the moment of his actual death, while he shouts at the Devil. (The Mind Flayer is symbolically the Devil/Satan. Stick a pin in that, we’ll come back to it at another time.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Mind Flayer then kills Billy by impaling him (Christ being impaled by the spear, anyone?), and Billy falls to the ground, arms outstretched yet again.
Guess who else dies sacrificially... and gets Christ symbolism at his moment of death?
Tumblr media
It’s less obvious with Hopper; he isn’t shown with his arms outstretched. Instead, the Duffers give the crucifixion pose to Joyce right before she deals the “death blow.” She is in the pose on Hopper’s behalf.
Take a screenshot at the right instant, and the beams of electricity shooting out of the “key” machine even form a cross behind her.
Tumblr media
(This scratches the surface of another subject: the STRONG PARALLELS between Hopper and Billy. Stick a pin in that, too... *sigh*)
Well, guess what. We already know Hopper’s coming back. David Harbour even compared his return to the resurrection of Gandalf, the Christ figure of the Lord of the Rings:
"Gandalf the Grey who fights the Balrog and then becomes Gandalf the White. It’s the idea of the resurrection of the character. And mythologically, Hopper, in a sense, had to change. I mean, you couldn’t go on the way he was going on. He has to resurrect in some way. So it was a great opportunity to do that. So we’ll see a very different guy going forwards. The same guy but in a different vein.”
"[He] had to change... [he] couldn’t go on the way he was going on...” Doesn’t that describe Billy exactly?
»»————- ✼ ————-««
Ugh, there’s a lot here, guys. I haven’t even touched on all of Billy’s Christ symbolism yet. I’ll have to save the rest for another time.
Until then, I’ll leave you with this very interesting song from Billy’s official Spotify playlist...
Tumblr media
Muthafucka I’m back From the dead I’m about To raise hell Out of my coma I’m ready to show ya That season of my life is done...
»»————- ✼ ————-««
P.S., all of this explains why Dacre proposed the idea that Billy’s mom was literally a virgin. It’s batshit crazy and makes NO sense... unless he and the Duffers were discussing Christ imagery for Billy.

The Penumbra Podcast and its take on love and heroism
This post was originally posted in a tumblr named story-teller aprendiz before the announcement of the hiring of the new poster artist (a choice which I disagree about). The reason I’m reposting it is just so that I have all my articles in one place.
Spoilers froms s1 through s2 of both Second Citadel and the Juno Steel storylines.
In anticipation of season 4 of the Penumbra I would like to take a look at one of the penumbra's mission statements: subverting tropes. And no, I don't mean the homme fatale. In this opinion article I will talk about our brooding detective, heroism and love in the penumbra podcast.
Heroism
Living in the superhero renaissance -and as part of a species who tell stories- we all have been subjected to the scene where the superhero sacrifices themself for humanity or any other noble reason.
Spoilers for the final resting place
In this episode Juno has his own "heroic" moment but it isn't framed as so, if anything it's depicted as anything but a nightmare. Even when he is able to win and live, he doesn't get rewarded and is one of the many reasons he decides to walk out on Nureyev.
Spoiler for the Angel of Brahma
Heroism for Nureyev or "doing the good thing" has always been tied to loss for our thief. He saves New Kinshasa (and Brahma really) and he loses his home, father and identity; he saves Mars with Juno and loses his salary or pay? and gets his heart broken.
In the end for him hiding his heart is a way to protect himself for this rule the universe has seemingly put on him, but still sometimes gives into the desire to be what that child on Brahma wanted him to be.
Spoilers for heart of it all part 2
To be fair Buddy isn't as self-sacrificing as those above but she does put her life on the line for the mission and for her family. And I love the idea that Buddy ends up saving herself from herself (ironically) by her words being declaim by the same people that she helps.
Spoilers for What lies beyond Part 3
In What Lies Beyond we found out of an agreement made by all space pirates: "If things go wrong, promise you will save yourself for that is our only chance of succeeding" and that is what Juno does at the end of the episode and what Nureyev does in final resting place.
Damien I believe also plays into this with how often he will disregard his needs for his vocation, loves, and home. How it is portrayed as a flaw (though not necessarily something he needs to change) as we see how it affects Rilla especially and well, also him.
In the narrative heroism in the conventional way that is depicted on the mainstream leads to pain, suffering or the hero is actively seeking some kind of those. However that doesn't mean the Juno storyline is not about heroes, in my opinion it is completely about that but rephrased: people doing good. People with all the mess they are, and with the fact that we are selfish and that's okay.
And maybe there is credibility that your death can bring some good to the world but, your life can bring so much that death ever could: to the world, to your loved ones and to you.
Love
The same in how it handles platonic & romantic love.
Juno is loving the people he cares about -especially Rita- by taking care of himself and as we saw in season three if he hadn't done so the Carte Blanche crew would have been at worse odds than it is. We can also see it in the fact that one of the reasons Nureyev decided to try things with Juno was because he wanted to get better. In Vespa and Buddy and how both won't let themselves die, not only because of a survival instinct, but because they already know the impact it has on the other, and they can bear to do it a second time.
Additionally I dear to say that The Penumbra Podcast plays with the Romeo and Juliet Narrative.
Disclaimer: I never finished Romeo and Juliet's story, the closest I got was the half of the modern adaptation movie with Leonardo Di Caprio but, what I noticed was dying -through poison- because the world won't let you be with your sweetheart.
Spoilers for the Midnight Fox
In the Midnight fox we are told the story of Valles Vicky and Ingrid Lake and their "Home beyond the stars' . As thieves the treat of getting caught and being separated was always looming in the background, so they swore to commit su*cide if that ever went to happen. But by a turn of fate it was only Ingrid who was caught and Vicky was able to move on and in hindsight she was able to understand how messed up the vow they made really was.
Regardless if Shakespeare intended his tale to be a "romance" it has been taking like that by the public, therefore what The Penumbra does: taking this type of narrative and showcasing the unhealthy aspects of it while acknowledging the love in their relationship and the fact that their promise was made out of this passion and simultaneously not excusing Ingrid's (or Vicky's) actions or the horror of their vow is part of the reason this podcast is one of my favorites.
Spoilers for Man in Glass
Another example that comes to mind is Nureyev's and Zolotovna's declaration of love. It isn't uncommon to see a movie with this premise or the act of dying by declaring your eternal love for someone as something romantic but The Penumbra treats this as a joke.
Spoilers for the Moonlit Hermit
Of course that isn't to say that the show doesn't play on some problematic tropes like "The beauty and the Beast" narrative for Rilla and Arum's storyline. To be clear I don't condemn it nor think that Rilla & Arum are in an abusive relationship or stockholm syndrome or something like that because they aren't, however I would have like to see more development or exploration about their first encounter, Arum's actions, how they move past it, and how they interact with their present in relation to their "rough" [for lack of a better word] start. And most importantly Rilla’s feelings and thoughts about that.
In conclusion I like this podcast to an unhealthy amount, and think there is more "subversion of tropes" to it than "popular tropes but gay".
Heroism in the penumbra as cliché as it sounds is "saving yourself so you can save others". And on the surface that might seem as a selfish action but as Nureyev says: "I couldn't have rescued you if I hadn't left in the first place". And Love in the Penumbra, as cliché as it sounds is "loving others by taking care of yourself" and it's messy and beautiful and as Juno says: "Not something that happens to me but something that I am making".

please. i can’t do this alone.
Titans 3.01
thoughts! thoughts! thoughts! some red hot thoughts!
SPOILERS ahead.
1. one episode in, and this season already looks set to give me everything i want. its abandonment of plot and storytelling conventions as it goes from one point to the next at breakneck speed; its cheerful bastardisation of iconic storylines from the comics; the ‘as-you-know-bob’ clunky exposition on one end and extremely restrained, subtle explorations of complex character dynamics on the other; endless shots of neon bleeding into black and blue corridors, shadows and silhouettes; my delight in seeing it celebrate and deconstruct the dark nolan-y batman aesthetic at the same time; my bafflement that it’s so fucking goddamn obsessed with the batfam when it’s supposed to be about the TITANS; kory just... saving every overburdened, clunky scene that she’s in by her sparkling charisma. just... *chef’s kiss*. muah. my show is back, in all its glory.
MY SHOW IS BACK, Y’ALL!
1.5. i mean... this show is so artful and weird and not afraid to go absolutely bonkers in exploring its characters’ psyche, but can just about barely stage a passable comic book fight when every tom dick and harry and their new streaming services can deliver ones that are far more exciting. i love this show with every atom of my body.
(there’s something to be said about rooting for the underdog as well. a pleasure in finding something to love about what other people dismiss. but! enough navel gazing! i have fictional characters’ navels to look at! metaphorically! and maybe literally!)
2. i expected jason’s death to come about pretty early in the season as soon as i heard rumours that red hood was showing up, but for it to happen in the first five minutes of the first episode... that’s a record.
(well. “happen.” still don’t know what exactly went down there.)
2.25. GOD. jason is such a tortured and tragic character in this show, used and passed around by people with alleged good intentions, never really fitting in anywhere. he’s veritably bleeding vulnerability and the need to belong, the need to be known, and yet the tragedy is that his death proves that nobody in his life knew anything about him at all; that they only saw the flimsy walls he put up to protect his soft core, and thought that that was all there was. that they say they loved him, but blame him for his own death.
dick is flabbergasted that jason can read, though we know from last season, from what jason revealed to rose, that he has a love for plays and music. barbara is quick to dismiss his actions as ‘impulsive’. bruce has no idea that his supposed son was building his own little chemistry lab right under his nose, and beyond that, no idea that jason needed structure, stability and validation beyond being left alone in a huge house with a treasure trove of dangerous weapons. kory thought his decision to fight the joker was from not learning and growing when the guy tried to kill himself last season and nobody apart from dick even tried to talk to him about it! did you consider that he might still be suicidal? especially after the titans admitted to having “given up” on him because he was just “too hard”?
2.5. the one thing that’s been consistent across all three seasons (so far) of the show is the unreliable narrator trope. there’s a reason why the characters’ dismissals of jason’s actions as impulsive is so repetitive; why jason’s death is a mystery dick feels compelled to solve. it’s a flailing attempt to know his brother much too late--but with red hood, maybe he gets a second chance, just like he got one with the titans. this is what jason’s arc has been building up to. this is ‘death in the family’ but more fucked up in some ways. it didn’t linger on the death because the death wasn’t the point. the joker isn’t the point. everything that came before it is.
this way it will also make perfect sense that the red hood’s main enemy becomes the titans rather than batman.
2.75. goodness knows what’s going on with jason’s little chemistry project. at first i thought he was immunising himself to joker gas or something, but maybe it’s what passes for lazarus pit juice in this universe?
anyway, it’s pretty impressive that jason learnt all of that from a college chemistry textbook. STOP BRINGING UP THAT HE READ SOMETHING, DICK--
2.8. i’m glad that dick doesn’t immediately sink into self-loathing and guilt and tries to investigate jason’s death while also acknowledging how he failed him. it’s like he actually learned something from the last two years!
anyway. more about dick later.
3. oh how i love titans!bruce. a lot of characters had a lot of Opinions on his reaction to jason’s death in this episode, but again, i ask you to consider that they’re unreliable narrators, and this universe’s bruce is a product of how it shaped him. bruce wayne has become a phantom to himself--an artifice borne out of vigorous discipline and crushing self-denial.
bruce has been batman for a very long time, and without a robin for much longer. (dick must be... in his early thirties? so he was robin for about, say, 10-12 years according to the timeline of the show. that still makes bruce pretty old when he took on his first robin.) things have... calcified (possibly parts of his brain). the personal cost and the collateral from the mission he’s taken up for most of his life is too much to countenance; it has to be a war, and war requires sacrifice.
on some level bruce knows that’s a lie. he’s so goddamned alone. what’s he going to do? sit down and cry? who’s going to listen to him now? oh, is he going to just stop being batman? who’s going to stop gotham from consuming herself then? he’ll just have to forge ahead, do better next time, maybe he’ll be firmer with them, or kinder with them, or notice more things, or train them harder, or spend more time--
3.25. don’t get me wrong: titans!bruce is an asshole and a half. his roster of potential robins was honestly bone-chilling. the fact that there’s a twisted root of compassion makes it more disturbing.
3.5. alfred’s dead! it must’ve been pretty recent, because i could’ve sworn that dick tried to call alfred in the very first episode of season 1, or at least considered calling him...
what a devastating double-blow for bruce then, losing his father-figure and his, uh.... son-figure so close together.
4. i don’t know about barbara yet. i mean, i like her, but she had so much clunky expository dialogue to deliver this episode, and for an episode that was named after her, she only showed up halfway through it. but i like the weight of history behind her interactions with both bruce and dick and her compassion to bruce before he cruelly crossed a line. i also like the implication that she and dick have been in touch recently, and that she didn’t immediately try to guilt-trip dick about some perceived abandonment. it’d be too repetitive.
4.5. there’s also a sense that she ran interference for dick a lot whenever there was something Too Big and Emotional for him to confront directly, and i like and appreciate that character beat.
5. dick, my man! it really does feel like a substantial length of time has passed between the end of s2 and the beginning of s3... kory’s got a new costume, they’ve become celebrities in SF, working missions together, and dick’s actually smiling! genuinely enjoying his work and having fun with it for possibly the first time in the entire series! it’s really a far cry from the fractured, dysfunctional mess that they were at the end of the last season.
i just hope this doesn’t mean that they’ve magically reached a resolution off-screen to all of their fucked-upness from last season, and that the repercussions--for gar in particular--are actually addressed on screen.
5.25. i mentioned this briefly above, but it really is so refreshing that dick doesn’t wallow in guilt and self-loathing after jason’s death; he acknowledges his and the titans’ failure, is able to admit to barbara honestly that he’s not doing great, and is actively trying to reach out to bruce to make sure he’s ok, is trying to investigate what made jason seek out the joker on his own, and is probably the only person not immediately buying that it was jason’s recklessness that got him killed. i love that dick is finally beginning to trust his instincts or just employ them at all after years of guilt and paranoia and self-loathing. we love some positive character growth!
5.5. another thing i love? the bruce-dick interactions on this show. every scene they’re in together is so fraught with tension, both of them holding themselves back, their emotions on a whipcord-tight leash. dick wants to reach out to bruce, is even somewhat familiar with this brand of denial in the wake of grief, but wants barbara to make the first move because he genuinely does not know how to get bruce to open up. his instincts are right, and wonderful, and genuine, but his expression has been smothered by years of trauma, emotional and physical self-discipline, and what i suspect is poorly treated mental illness.
it takes a lot for him to finally explode at bruce at the end of the episode--in a way he hasn’t done even when his only opinion of bruce was ‘fuck him’--and it’s all the more startling for how subdued he’s been through the episode, how much he’s been holding back his emotions for bruce’s sake. love it.
5.75. it sort of hurts my heart to see the flying graysons poster in jason’s room. there are a few implications:
a) jason settled into dick’s old room despite living in a giant mansion with dozens of other rooms he could’ve used
b) he didn’t take down dick’s poster--not when he moved in and was idolising him, not when he moved out of the titans and was sort of hating him. i wonder if the reminder of what dick was before robin--that he was forged out of unspeakable tragedy--gave jason the connection to dick that he so desperately wanted in real life
c) dick moved right back into the room and slept on the bed that was now jason’s. grief can be so quiet and piecemeal sometimes.
6. i spy the beginnings of actual arcs for both gar and kory! i just hope that with the move to gotham their stories don’t fall to the wayside...
6.5. i’ve known tim drake for less than ten minutes but if anything were to happen to him i’d kill everybody
7. this review has gone on for too long and i am tiRED. however, before i leave: i miss some of the dedication-to-aesthetic that titans season 1 used to have. remember how the first few episodes didn’t really feel like a superhero show but something out of gothic horror? there was something gorgeous and raw about that, about open landscapes and the road and creepy buildings looming up at the end of it. moving to titans tower in s2 really ruined a lot of that for me, given its ripped-from-architectural-digest aesthetic, all smooth and clean and artificial.
i hope that we really explore gotham’s hellscape in interesting and innovative ways instead of camping out in the batcave all the time and indulging in the show’s unending love for long corridors, neon backlights and silhouettes.
8.....
9.  wait, fuck, HOW CAN I FORGET ABOUT HOT PSYCHIATRIST GUY (TM)??? NONE of you prepared me for his return! NONE OF YOU! i gasped! i got up and did a happy dance!
listen, titans writers, if you’ve had a peek at my titans s3 wishlist, please go ahead and give the other items on the list a go too, thankyouverymuch.

The Rewatch Academy: Episode 6 of Season 1
Tumblr media
“The Day That Wasn’t”
I am in no way a good analyst so my little analysis and speculations probably sound a bit goofy or pretty wild and probably mean nothing at all. Everything I put into this post about each episode is purely what I noticed or thought, whether it’s funny or serious. I will be making jokes, so please just leave it at that (in no way am I trying to make fun of an actor and or character!) I am also in no way saying I noticed this stuff first. This is just what I noticed while rewatching these episodes
☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂ ☂

Tumblr media
☂ Klaus is lucky that he never got the briefcase shot up
☂ *Hears Klaus flush the toilet and talk* Luther: Oh good, you’re up
☂ Also Luther gave Klaus about two seconds to get up before hounding him again on getting downstairs
☂ Sounds like Tom’s accent slipped a little bit when he said “three days”
☂ Yeah they needed to have a family meeting right away and yet they took the time to go get coffee or at least order it and have it delivered
☂ “Old bastard” and “Our little psycho”
☂ I still don’t get at this point how they wouldn’t believe Five. Look at him, he himself is evidence of his time traveling! He was gone for 45 years, but to them it was only 17. Either way they try to grasp at that, Five would look older if he made it back without messing up. He knew about their father’s death without anyone telling him. I really think all the mistrust comes from the way he looks and the way he acts (they obviously believe he’s just crazy right now)
☂ “What did Five even see?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
☂ Also throw back to 1x02 and I didn’t realized this until now but Five doesn’t have his tie
Tumblr media
☂ I know it’s for the title card gag but no one questions the random umbrella falling and popping open
☂ I aspire to be as sarcastic as Hazel
☂ So where exactly is The Commission HQ at? Is it a random location in the real world? If so then wouldn’t normal people happen to stumble upon it? What about their location in space in the comics? Is this in space?? All we know is that it’s in/based off of the year 1955
☂ “I’d like to discuss the logistics of my family’s safety at your earliest convenience.” He cuts right to what’s most important to him. No “How will you stop the apocalypse?” or “What’s my job?” and even “How will my body replacement work?”
☂ Five sounds almost like he’s snapped back into a work mindset. He's suddenly polite and calm with The Handler. Maybe being back in a work environment has made his brain automatically switch into being more professional. However he might also be acting this way to try to throw her off of him being antsy with a plan
☂ Here's some Commission posters shown throughout 1x06
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
☂ One of us, one of us, one of us-
☂ So basically The Commission makes up history? How do they know what to do and when to make something happen? How do they know it’s right? And what’s The Commission supposed to do when the world ends? Haven't they already fixed stuff in the past or are there just continuous time loops so they need to make sure things happen over and over again? If multiple historical events happen with multiple ways they are made, then which one gets to be in the original timeline??
☂ Dot: No hard feelings! 😁
Tumblr media
Ma’am does it look like he’s going to accept that
☂ Wait why are Hazel and Cha-Cha considered the best Temporal Assassins if Five was/is the best?
☂ Well Five has the job of taking down the Hindenburg again but this time from behind a desk. So it’s possible to accomplish “corrections” without actually having assassins do the work. So I guess there’s just so many timelines that they need to fix every single one of them over and over? That sounds like a pain in the ass
☂ TUA portraits!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
☂ Y’know I have to agree with Allison on this one. Vanya was left out, however she’s offering to talk with her about the important family matter and Vanya is just denying it. I get she’s upset, but her sister is offering to include her. After Vanya leaves Allison immediately wants to go after her to talk with her. On the other hand Allison should have told her it was an emergency meeting and that they didn’t have the time to ask Vanya to join them
☂ Klaus seems genuinely concerned/upset for Vanya
Tumblr media
☂ “We need to figure out what causes the apocalypse. Now, there are loads of possibilities. Nuclear war, asteroids.” Wow spot on, Luther! I can’t believe they actually included foreshadowing for both apocalypses (even though technically it was a chunk of the moon, not an asteroid.) I wonder how much foreshadowing for S3 was put into S2.......
☂ I know it’s big joke about Luther and the moon, but the poor guy just really believes that he was on the moon for an important reason. I mean if I were in his shoes I would believe him too since he had to send a lot of daily updates and samples
☂ “Klaus shockingly has a point. What gives us a win this time?” Shhhh careful Diego, he’s right behind you
Tumblr media
☂ Luther is initially the only one onboard with Five on trying to stop the apocalypse. All the others want to go off and do their own thing before the world ends. He tries to get The Umbrella Academy back together to work as a team, but his leadership skills are now severely lacking. Do people *cough cough* mainly people who hate him *cough cough* overlook Luther wanting to also get his family together to stop the apocalypse with his family? Definitely.
☂ “We need the full force of the Academy to stand a chance.” Well golly gee, Allison, what did did Luther just try to do? Was that not him trying to round up all of The Umbrella Academy to stop the apocalypse?
☂ Even though Vanya is ranting, how does she not hear all the creaking metal and shaking cars?
☂ *it’s sunny around them but just the block they’re walking on is rainy until she calms down* “ThAt’S a CoInCiDeNcE.”
☂ The hall floor and Diego’s floor are so dusty
Tumblr media
☂ It’s sweet that Diego wants Klaus to get clean in a safe way instead of going cold turkey
☂ Dot, what does “utter silence” mean to you?
☂ “Look at you, deadly little thing.” You’re not wrong, but I don’t think he appreciates being called “thing”
Tumblr media
☂ Such a smug smile
Tumblr media
☂ So how does Five know all of this about Karl and his son? Does it talk about Otto never washing his hands in the file? That seems like an oddly specific detail but I guess in a case file it gives as many details as possible for the worker to figure out who needs to get assassinated
☂ There are a few cog references all relating to The Commission, so I wonder if this is a nod to “Teenagers” or if they’re just using this terminology
☂ Odd tattoos (sorry for the super blurry pic)
Tumblr media
☂ “Can I ask you a cuckoo bananas question?” Hazel is such a fun guy
☂ “Wouldn’t it be nice to kill who you want for a change?” You mean like straight up unhinged murder?
☂ The first time I watched this Hazel and Cha-Cha scene I for sure thought that Hazel was a dead man
☂ This scene just absolutely breaks my heart 💔
Tumblr media
☂ *skips 25:24-27:42*
☂ Diego is just so accepting to everything Klaus is saying
☂ I’m sorry, are we suddenly on the set of The Phantom of the Opera?
Tumblr media
☂ Diego, I think you’re forgetting a very important person in your life who you let down too who is also dead......(poor Ben can’t believe what his brother just said so he leaves)
☂ “Ordinary is not a word I’d use to describe you.” You’re right, it’s “Extra Ordinary” ha! Sorry Vanya, I had to use that joke
☂ Well at least we know Five ate a sandwich
☂ How exciting! The same division that made a simple candy taste like a candy from the past, but technically it’s not the past since The Commission HQ is based in 1955, is building a human body! That sounds so promising
☂ Sooooo whatever happened to Five’s new body? Is it just sitting in a lab somewhere?? Or is The Handler just lying about it to try to get Five to stay at The Commission?
☂ With the amount of time Five was staring at the suit, it obviously hurt him to know that while he has a new body within reach, he’s not going to get it because he’s about to leave
☂ “Course it’s a bit easier to see from 30,000 feet.” What is she talking about Reconnaissance aircraft? There was no mention of aircraft though so why would she bring that up? My closest guess is that she’s referring to strategic bombing in general, or even the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
☂ It sounds like Five suddenly has a New York accent when he says “operator” when talking to The Handler about Gloria
☂ Fuck you, Veggie Tales Hargreeves
☂ *skips 36:47-39:48*
☂ Well there’s your hit, Klaus
Tumblr media
☂ I love the camera moving with Klaus as he falls and the transition into Vietnam
☂ “Lock and load, Charlie’s away!” Wikipedia’s definition of a “Charlie” is  an American military slang referring to the Viiet Cong and North Vietnamese soldiers
☂ Klaus desperately calling out for a medic hurts my heart
☂ Well Luther if you had left then your body wouldn’t be the way it is now
☂ *fucking skips 45:41-50:00*
Tumblr media
☂ Ooooh I just really love the entirety of the “Kill Of The Night” scene! If you listen to the lyrics it’s about someone luring someone into a trap to get revenge because they messed with the wrong person (it’s also about love but we’re going to ignore that part). I personally believe it’s aimed at The Commission from Five because the entire time it plays he’s messing things up for them and in some way it’s like a little bit of revenge from him
☂ Why is Gloria confused on who Hazel and Cha-Cha are? Hasn’t she heard their names a ton of times especially since they’re some of the best assassins?
☂ How did Five know which tubes to put the messages in?
☂ You can see at this part how Five immediately gets anxious and antsy. He has a wild look in his eyes. From this point onwards he’s constantly moving, shaking with energy, anticipation, and probably a little bit of anger
Tumblr media
☂ “You’re a great disappointment to me.” That’s definitely not the first time he’s heard that
☂ “I don’t belong anywhere thanks to you. You made me a killer!” The first part of that stings. Obviously he feels like he doesn’t belong anywhere, but again I think has to do with the whole “good” and “bad” thing that’s going on. He feels like he doesn’t belong at home because he’s “bad” and has done a lot of dark stuff to get home (it doesn’t help that Luther voiced his acknowledgment of this  to Five and now he has that in his mind that Luther knows and somewhat views him as “bad”). Five 100% feels shame in what he has done, and definitely has an issue of coming back to his family with blood on his hands form what he has done. He doesn’t belong in The Commission anymore because he doesn’t want to stay there to do their dirty work to kill or give out kill orders. He’s done with that or at least wants to be done with that life.
The last statement though is Five taking his anger and guilt about being becoming an assassin out on The Handler. She brought him into The Commission, which in turn he became the best assassin across The Space-Time Continuum. It’s not something he’s proud of, and he never enjoyed killing (as much as I want it to be the DNA alteration I just don’t think it exists in the show or at least not yet). However The Handler replies with “You were always a killer. I just pointed you in a direction.” which you can immediately tell has struck a chord with Five. For the briefest second he looks taken aback and his eyes ever so slightly open wider in shock, whether he took that as the truth or just a terrible accusation isn’t exactly clear. Either way he doesn’t like being accused or hearing the truth out loud of always being able to be murderous, a killer.
I believe it’s a mixture of The Handler just trying to get into his head and a combination of the truth. Reginald trained The Umbrella Academy to use brute force, but that doesn’t mean Five had killed anyone but he was definitely violent when it came to stopping bad guys (not to mention in the pilot script he was called a “Ruthless little war machine” after violently attacking and decapitating a bunch of mannequins)
☂ Diego: I’m going to go kill Hazel and Cha-Cha!........Riiiiight after I get done walking with my mom in the park
☂ He’s so happy to see Klaus again
Tumblr media
☂ ✨Gremlin✨
Tumblr media
☂ Who exactly does Five owe a debt to? Maybe his family after accidentally leaving them and now he wants to save them? Or is it a singular person?
☂ Ouch! Now that’s what I call a problem later!
Tumblr media
☂
Tumblr media
☂ Five using “Ya’ll” is weird to hear
☂ Five is talking to his siblings like he knows what’s been happening but in reality he’s rarely been at home so how would he know
☂ I love that Five doesn't even answer Diego at the end and instead just stares at his siblings

“Gargoyles” S2 || PART 3
DISNEY'S "GARGOYLES" SEASON 2 QUOTES RP MEME
This meme was HUGE so I cut it up into 5 parts. The original poster is linked to the title!!
Truce?
You are the cause of all this.
Humans will learn to respect you.
I would rather they fear me.
What are you doing to help?
That's one way to settle an argument.
I thought I'd rid myself of you long ago
You've forgotten about me.
You're too late. You can't save them. No one can!
I'm not here for them. I'm here for you.
I want it over between us!
I wear this as a reminder of your treachery.
Let's not start that again. You blame me, I blame you. Aren't you tired of talking about it?
I'm not here to talk.
Killing me will gain you nothing but your own death.
Death is never the answer. Life is.
I'm just so tired
Your thirst for vengeance has only created more sorrow.
I offer you one last opportunity for forgiveness and mercy.
I merely offer a sample of what you planned for me.
You have learned nothing.
I will still have my revenge!
What do we do with them?
You come in handy now and then.
I'm quite glad the plan worked.
I'm no hero, I just do my job, and my job for tonight is over.
All I want to do is hit the sack.
Why would you want to hit a sack?
How long was I out?
Even shadows must be true to their shade.
We don't need to wait for sunset.
Is it supposed to hurt that much?
Just get on with it.
Recognize the woman?
She seemed familiar, but I just couldn't place her.
You're getting real good at bypassing alarms.
Don't give me credit.
It was too easy!
Maybe misery loves company.
If you're human, then you're subject to human laws.
Either way I win!
I fear no human!
There are forces at war within me.
I will return some day, if I can.
You sound like every human employee I ever fired!
Crush all of them together and you couldn't squeeze one iota of personal integrity from the lot!
No excuses, creature!
Learn to take responsibility for your own actions! And STOP whining!
Oh, I am trembling in my chair.
You believe I am not responsible. Yet I remain your prisoner?
Who said you're not responsible?
It doesn't matter that you were tricked, you know now that your actions inflicted grievous damage. Do you take responsibility for them or not?
Well, what are you going to do?
You seem distracted, having second thoughts?
We'll celebrate over breakfast.
No more excuses. I accept full responsibility for my actions. I was wrong.
Integrity is never easy. It's a daily struggle, a costly struggle.
I know I owe you a great debt for the mistake I made a year ago.
If the text wasn't new to me, it was at least worth revisiting.
All I know is I'm about to be wiped out!
It doesn't have to be that way.
I can break these chains. But only you can get me past the bars.
Automatons know nothing of betrayal or honor. They know only what they're programmed to know.
Only living beings possess the ability to change, and make new choices.
You've given me much to consider.
We are friends.
I'd rather not have your death on my conscience
You'll never reach the bridge!
You have two minutes until impact, one minute before I detonate.
I don't want any innocents hurt!
If it goes down, I'm going down with it.
I knew you wouldn't let me down.
Yes, well, you have that effect on people.
I built this company for you!
I'd probably give it to you, if you'd just stand up and ask me for it honestly!
Asking for it wouldn't be any fun at all.
'Fun' is still more important to you than honor. I can't understand that.
Maybe you'll have better luck relating to the next generation.

Day Two of Comic Con at home. Cheaper than the real thing, way less crowded than the real thing, lacks the chaotic energy of the real thing, but it gets the job done.
Tumblr media
Today’s panel included the cast of HIS DARK MATERIALS discussing their second series.
Tumblr media
Forget NORMAL PEOPLE’s Connell’s chain, it’s all about Andrew’s chain.
Tumblr media
The S2 trailer made its debut with a focus on Andrew Scott whose character John Parry only showed up in S1 via a photo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joining series two in a voice role is Phoebe Waller-Bridge who will, fittingly, voice Scott’s daemon.
Tumblr media
Who won’t be back for series two? James McAvoy’s Lord Asriel whose standalone episode was nixed due to the pandemic.
But McAvoy has been making the best out of quarantine. He’s been promoting his voice role of Morpheus in DC/Audible’s THE SANDMAN
Tumblr media
And appearing in the locked down webseries STAR FORCE with OUTLANDER stars Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe and Steven Cree; and Teresa Palmer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Another panel posted was for McAvoy’s SPLIT and GLASS costar Anya Taylor Joy’s long delayed THE NEW MUTANTS which will absolutely, positively, certainly, possibly be released on August 28th.
Tumblr media
For some reason Disney isn’t pulling the Disney+ switch on THE NEW MUTANTS just yet, they have realigned their schedule again.
The new Star Wars trilogy, the first one to be directed by Taika Waititi has been pushed, as has its subsequent sequels moving from Dec. 2022 to Dec. 2023, Dec. 2025 and Dec. 2027.
Tumblr media
Disney has un-dated MULAN which was set to be released on August 21st.
Tumblr media
Disney has also un-dated their Fox acquisition THE FRENCH DISPATCH.
Tumblr media
Disney has actually pushed back all of their Fox acquired films.
AVATAR 2 and its other sequels that no one but James Cameron asked for are all being pushed back to a time when we don’t even know if the world will even exist.
Tumblr media
Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington doing their motion-capture for a film no one will see.
Tumblr media
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER - Dec. 2022 (from Dec. 2021)
AVATAR: THE SEED BEARER - Dec 2024 (from Dec. 2023)
AVATAR: THE TULKUN RIDER - Dec 2026 (from Dec. 2025)
AVATAR: THE QUEST FOR EYWA - Dec 2028 (from Dec. 2027)
Disney has also pushed back DEATH ON THE NILE two weeks to October 23, 2020.
Tumblr media
Until then you can hear Sir Kenneth read the audiobook.
Tumblr media
The endearing and fanciful THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD moves to August 28th from August 14th.
Tumblr media
- MGM’s Orion Pictures arose from the grave two years ago and is trying to regain its footing in the movie industry which is why they won’t give up on Bill and Ted 3.  After its release date has been pushed back several times Orion has now announced the film will be released theatrical as well as Video on Demand on September 1st.
New poster featuring Samara Weaving (HOLLYWOOD, READY OR NOT) and  Brigette Lundy-Paine (ATYPICAL) as the daughters of the titular characters.
Tumblr media
- Paramount was holding the October line against WB’s WONDER WOMAN with the Michael B. Jordan film TOM CLANCY’S WITHOUT REMORSE.
Tumblr media
But pushed it to 2021. Now the studio is in talk with Amazon to offload it to Amazon Video, much like Paramount did with the Issa Rae / Kumail Nunjiani comedy THE LOVEBIRDS which they sold to Netflix after pushing it back.
