Strolling Along The Canals Amsterdam, Netherlands October 9 & 10, 2022 If ever there was a city to be enjoyed walking, bicycling and boating, Amsterdam is it! Such a beautiful city. Tons of old world charm! I loved walking along the canals just absorbing the sights and sounds of the city on a lovely autumn afternoon. The first image in this series of 10 photos taken in the Canal District is the view from our room at the Hotel Ambassade, a charming, old world style hotel but with all the modern conveniences, and lovely rooms that overlook the Herengracht. #amsterdam #netherlands🇳🇱 #amsterdamcanals #herengracht #visitamsterdam #travelamsterdam #loves_amsterdam #loves_netherlands #oldworldcharm #oldworldarchitecture #canalboat #europetrip #europedestinations #superb_travelpics #splendid_view #splendid_transport #rebels_united #rebel_scapes #citybestpics #royalsnappingartists #rsa_streetview #rsa_water #rsa_architecture #architecturelovers #ig_captures_city #ig_captures_landscape #travelphotography (at Herengracht Canal, Amsterdam) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnklqkSPjaR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Missed a few days in my Bloganuary challenge, so hopefully I'll find time to catch up. But with plans for a forthcoming trip to Bradford-Upon-Avon in the pipeline, here's a memory of the area looking a little greener than I'll be seeing it. A floating trader is not an unheard of sight on Britain's canals, neither was this the 1st time I'd seen them. But this particular encounter did lead me to an interesting development in my line of thinking of re-establishing traditional trade networks based on small-scale shipping which I've outlined in previous posts. But what if we combined it with the idea of a floating trader to recreate the traditional business model of the travelling merchant, using traditional cargo boats to set up shop in different locations? True, it would still not be a means of meeting the logistical needs of large mass market companies, but it would afford small local businesses the opportunity to have their products taken to local markets beyond their normal reach. True, much the same could just as well be achieved with online marketing, but that simply wouldn't replace the joy of local community markets. Who else would like to see more of this? #TransportTuesday #TimelessTuesday #TravelTuesday #Bloganuary #BradfordOnAvon #BradfordUponAvon #KennetandAvonCanal #narrowboat #floatingtrader #canalboat #smallbusiness #localmarket #localism #distributism #TraditionalistTuesday #GreatBritain #traditionalism (at Bradford-upon-Avon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnQH0WjtDS5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
The most enchanting way to explore Amsterdam's beauty is on an Amsterdam canal cruise. There are approximately 165 canals in the city, and you can slowly explore the city's attractions by floating across a canal with its blue waters and magnificent bridges.
