HAPPY ODAIBA DAY! I just published a new chapter of my digimon fanfic, Infinite Possibilities! Read it on AO3 or FFN!

In today's chapter, Koushiro gives Eimi background info on the relationship between the Chosen and the Bureau, and we see the lingering damage from the events of Tri. I was so interested in thinking up what happened to the 02 kids afterward, I hope I can expand those ideas into a full fic someday.

I'm so excited, because things really start to pick up next chapter, when Hikari and Miyako tell the villages of baby digimon what happened to their missing friends.

Fic Summary:

As more people meet their digimon partners, the challenges of digimon and humans coexisting on earth cannot be ignored. College student Anami Eimi begins her career in digimon research, hoping to help digimon and humans understand one another. When she discovers caged digimon in her new lab, she contacts the Japanese Chosen, setting off a chain of events that force the Chosen and their digimon to reevaluate the dynamics of their partnership.

This fic is set pre and post Kizuna, and is a mostly canon compliant expansion. It's a three phase story, the first starring OC Anami Eimi, then Izumi Koushiro, then Yagami Hikari. It explores the realities, challenges, and politics of digimon living on earth, and the nature of the Chosen/digimon partnership.

Can the Chosen and their digimon find the infinite possibilities that will sustain their partnerships into adulthood?

There are mentions of couples in this fic, but it's action/world expansion/plot driven, not a romance.

Okay I know this is hardly an AU because I see it happening in canon, and a friend is into Phantom Thieves and Detective series lately to the point I keep feeling this big urge to explore my favorite scenario-headcanon idea when I’m writing stuff.

What, you may ask?

Ichouji Ken and co. investigating digimon mysteries and cases in some vein for Cyber Sleuth, Hacker’s Memory and other stuff like Dekaranger :) 

But more like, a group of teens focused on solving misunderstandings and some supernatural phenomena which are actually Digimon-related cases.

“Wait Ni, this is just Ghost Game!!”

Well, I admit GG is also in my mind when it comes to that, but we had Ken as detective in the epilogue, and you must wonder if he never went sleuthing between 2002 and 2028 right? Something is making him… decide this was what he wanted to do for his life.

*Ahem* I bugged a friend to make those smol headcanons.

Ken and his friends have a website where they receive cases from people around Tokyo. Besides that, they gather cases from their own schools too.

Besides Ken looking smart, he’s a walking mess. When he’s not in a case, he’s just enjoying his obsessions and explaining everything about them to whoever asks him about them. Daisuke sometimes feels his technical knowledge of things is too much for his (Dai’s) brain so he completely starts feeling a little overwhelmed by the info.

Everyone has a favorite type of case, yeah. Daisuke likes simple and easy tasks. Takeru and Hikari like supernatural-like cases, Miyako likes most of the stuff she can be helpful in, Iori likes to observe and learn more about people/digi and their reasons for such actions, and Ken… He likes everything, and he cannot turn his back on anyone in trouble (he might have absorbed that behavior from Daisuke)

Daisuke is canonically afraid of ghosts. So he’s the kind to be nope-ing outta there whenever he learns the case involves ghosts or supernatural. Of course they manage to drag him over, especially using Hikari as an excuse (“Hikari is going too~”) or Hikari herself pushing his right buttons (“Oh I’d like someone strong and brave to protect me in case something terrible happens!”)

Besides that, Daisuke thinks his crush on Hikari is a secret to everyone else, except everyone – Hikari included – is aware of it.

Somewhere between 02 and Kizuna, Ken started to like Miyako a little more than a friend, but he does not let it be known. No one knows that. (yes, this is canon compliant here.)

Most of the cases they get are some misunderstanding between human and digimon, or digimon and digimon, quite like CS/HM’s cases. 

Since the digimon are known by the public and the number of digimon partnered to people are increasing quickly, this little group activities are important.

If they can’t solve something by themselves, they ask for Koushiro’s help, or the Chosen Children network on the web, or even Gennai (or a Gennai clone).

Got some ideas on table with the friend into Phantom Thief genre again

Their nemesis is Arsenemon, a digimon who steals stuff stolen from the Digital World by the selfish humans/”renegade” Chosen Children. He’s classy and sassy, which makes Daisuke lose his patience with him all the time.  Ken is also determined to stop Arsenemon, but not on a deep level as Daisuke.

Arsenemon can disguise as anyone, and since they don’t know what he looks like, they are clueless. One day someone claimed to have seen Yamato leaving a museum at night and then the kids had to clean Yamato’s name. Turns out Arsenemon’s hair is sorta like Yamato’s…

That said, Yamato hates the idea of some digimon having his haircut or uh… having his face…

Hikari works for her (and Daisuke-Takeru’s) school journal, so this digimon intrigues her as her editor keeps asking about him. She takes photos for Ken-and-the-group’s website.

Miyako helped Ken to build the website and the chatroom to gather cases. The entire group was kinda into it at this point. Students and children from their schools could come ask them for favors and even give them rewards for their assistance and counselor, but they don’t accept doing it for money or gifts. They do it because they want to help humans and digimons to get along now!

Arsenemon does have a point and they accept it, once it is revealed to them his real motives to steal stuff. And yeah, they kinda… side with him later.

By the way, Arsenemon has a human form, but since he can transform into anyone… Well, I’d post his design later (might be a bit of a spoiler for another thing I’m working on but… whatever? )

I’ve been thinking about it more and more… Sorry in advance.

The 02 group only started doing this because someone was having free time after school and decided to watch Dekaranger and fell in love with it, and since the series kinda felt very close to their reality… The idea was pitched to the rest of the group, which thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea. After all, they were already doing something like this for a while, right? 

When it comes to Arsenemon, the 02 group starts trying to guess who they are… By checking each person outside their circle of friends who’s close to them, especially because of the mysterious Calling Cards they receive. From the suspects they led to two Chosen Children in Daisuke-Hikari-Takeru’s school: Youta and Mizuki.

Youta is suspicious BECAUSE he tends to be all smug and a little aggressive on Daisuke, by making poor Daisuke have a new rival. Youta is also called “Soleil” around the school, and is smart. Partner digimon: Coronamon

Mizuki is suspicious because she’s strangely involved in some with one or two people related to the heists. She’s the pacifist and most calm person in the school – enough to be called “Lune” by the students. She’s also part of the school’s journal staff. Partner digimon: Lunamon.

Noel/Étoile is a kid involved with those two too, so he became another suspect. Besides that, he’s a shy boy who recently started attending the same school as Youta and Mizuki.

The digimon are permitted at the schools, but not at classes. The digimon spends most of the school hours outside the school, in the yard. Some school staff members make sure to feed them and keep watching their behavior, in order for none of them start picking fights against the others or damage the buildings.

Now about the digimon: Soleil’s Coronamon is a more noble and serious digimon with a better sense of justice than his partner, but he’s so loyal to Youta that he won’t argue with the boy. Meanwhile Lune’s Lunamon is a very sweet and gentle one, except she’s very very overprotective of Mizuki to the point this can become a nuisance. 

No one knows who Étoile’s partner digimon is, or if he has one. He tends to not talk about that at all. However he seems to get along with the digimon quite well?

Since Arsenemon can be anyone, and the 02 kids have no idea how to stop him, they lean into suspecting of everyone – except themselves Because… Well, you know, they know each other quite well to not be fooled that easily.

Soleil serves as Daisuke’s nemesis, Lune as Hikari’s rival, and no one has a beef with Étoile because he’s a good kid.

Étoile seems a little clueless about certain stuff, or being kinda weird when making food combos.

Arsenemon has many ways to send a calling card to the 02 group. Some are very creative and some are a little intrusive.

For the calling cards, Arsenemon likes to sometimes pick just one favorite victim because of their reactions. Yes, it is Daisuke. (Angry) Daisuke noises are his pleasure.

This A.M.V. was pretty much made on a complete whim after I heard this thanks to a Japanese Taishiro/TaiKou fan on Twitter recommending another by this group as "DEFINITELY a TaiKou song" and let's just say Yes I see a Theme & Patterns going {with this group's songs+lyrics!} and I am Spilling Koushiro Thoughts Via Analysis by A.M.V. As a result it IS in actuality semi canon compliant to a very strong degree, but please keep in mind the intended pairing is mainly KouTai (though I ship various other Koushiro ships too!)

How, in Kizuna, both Yamato and Taichi know what Sora is up to and even though Taichi and Sora grew apart, they still have a special connection that's here to stay forever and shouldn't be left unsaid

Before you read on, two warnings:

Also, a little note and disclaimer: I can see people percepting this post as a Taiora-shipper heavily vouching for romantic!Taiora and bashing Sorato. Interpret it however you like, but just know that's not how I approached this meta. It's Sorato-friendly and Sorato-appreciative. Sure, it gives reasons for romantic!Taiora to have potential in canon, but it's mostly directed on how I see the -platonic- connection between Taichi and Sora and how it's portrayed in the Kizuna movie.

That being said, I do not own Digimon and therefore this is my view on it. I also didn't read the Kizuna novel, so everything not compliant with the novel is due to that. Anyway, happy readings!

Who remembers the Digimon movie Diaboromon strikes back probably knows how Sora is not present during the fight because she's on the tennis club trip. Or actually on her way back. We learn about this, because Koushiro asks where Sora is and Yamato -being her boyfriend obviously- is the only one who knows the answer. Cute boyfriend, truly!

In the Kizuna movie we see a little call back to this particular scene when Yamato and Taichi are eating together and talk about what all the others are up to (and how they seem to be the only ones who have no clue about their future yet. I feel that, unlike Koushiro I didn't run a freaking tech company at 21??!!! Seriously, who does that?!). Taichi sums up all the 01 Chosen Children + Daisuke, except for two: Takeru and Sora. Of course Yamato knows what Takeru is up to, so Taichi leaves that for Yamato to tell.

As for Sora... I think that's a bit harder and I've been thinking about this since the first time I saw it. Especially after I saw this post floating around on my dash every once in a while (and yes the Taiora-shipper in me wants my Taiora-heart to be soothed BUT this is not the main reason, believe me) and I just think Yamato isn't the only one who knows. Now let me try to explain myself.

The first reaction Taichi gives after Yamato drops the insights on Sora's life is a kind of bored (maybe even a little frustrated?), almost sighing and slightly stretched "Eeehhh" which can be translated to "Yeah...". In the English dub Taichi's 'yeah' sounds even more frustrated and almost... disappointed? Also look at the face above! Taichi doesn't look pleased in my opinion, at all. See it for yourself.

Anyway, when we take all of the above in consideration, we could interpret Taichi's reaction in two different ways:

"Yeah. Ok. Cool. Not interested."

"Yeah. I know. It stings. Thanks for reminding me, dude."

And to be honest, I can't imagine Taichi not being interested in Sora (from a platonic perspective), so I'd go with the second option. Taichi knows that Sora's into Ikebana (and if we believe the one Christmas Tri interview, Taichi also knows about Sora's designer aspirations), but he doesn't include her in his enumeration, because why the heck would he talk about his friend's girlfriend??! Besides, talking about Sora seems a bit more painful to him than talking about the others. A reason for this for example could be that it's pretty painful to see and feel yourself slowly fading away from your oldest friend due to the difference in life paths. Yamato on the other hand starts talking about her, because it's his freaking girlfriend so OF COURSE he wants to talk about her.

This also brings me to the part that Yamato knows that Taichi knows what Sora is up to. After Taichi gives his sighing reaction, Yamato reacts by stating something very painful YAMA MY BOI WHY DO YOU BREAK TAICHI'S HEART LIKE THAT??!!! the obvious no one likes to admit.

"Things can't stay the same forever..."

Look at Taichi's sad and pained face!! The fact that Yamato says this seems to hit something in Taichi, especially after briefly talking about Sora; Taichi's oldest friend... It could even point in the direction of Yamato knowing Taichi and Sora grew apart, as if he wants to make clear to Taichi that it's okay to let go of old friendships as it's part of life (and not because Yamato is afraid to lose Sora to Taichi or whatsoever).

You know, that really pains me. Ugh, this movie will be my death one day... Carry on!

Throughout the rest of the movie, however, we see how Taichi and Sora still maintain some kind of 'connection'. For example how they were silently in pain, waiting for the inevitable, while the rain poured down (I know that's scenography, but it could even be a weird-ass nod to the Our War Game Taiora drama in the English dub...), their scenes following up each other. Also note how both Piyomon (+ Sora) and Agumon stare through the -left panel of the- window... Sad. ~See this edit~

How Yamato is stopped by Takeru, Jyou and Mimi (a.k.a. team Hope) and Taichi only by Hikari and Koushiro. Clearly there's someone missing in team Light and that someone must be Sora on Taichi's side.

And of course the whistle (I still don't get Yamato's dub-line "I used to hate that damn whistle," like, where did that even come from??!! It's stupid) blown by Taichi to which Sora reacts by literally calling out his name with the extra of a hand on the glass, reaching out to him, but unable to help because she's seperated (feels distanced...) from him. ~See this edit~

I even found this little thing you might miss with the blink of an eye. Or maybe I am just an idiot and I only spotted it now and everyone else is like: "Yeah, we already knew, old news." Gonna meta on it anyway

So anyway, in the 'staring to the pouring rain' scene, where Sora tells Piyomon she decided to not take part in the fight anymore (because SAD reasons obviously), we see Sora tracing two raindrops with her finger gliding down the window, becoming one raindrop.

Then, fast forward in the movie to the scene in Koushiro's office before Taichi and Yamato travel to the Digitial World to save the others and find Menoa. Yamato wonders how if they find Menoa and will have to fight her, the Digimon need to digivolve for that fight, which will probably speed up the vanishing of Gabumon and Agumon. Taichi is aware of that, going into some kind of brave sacrifice mode for the sake of the others, and Yamato asks if he's okay with that. And right before Taichi tells Yamato "No, I'm not. But someone's gotta do it!" we see this one raindrop... gliding down the window... seperating into two raindrops..!!! (To all the gif makers; please be my guest...!)

It HAS to mean something, because it's so obvious and it actually ties those two scenes together! It's an 'Aha!'-moment, a moment where the events turn and will probably mean something like 'Our paths cross and became one all those years ago and now is the time for our paths to seperate once again. In order to do so, we have to let go and start growing up'.

But we could also interpret it in a way it says something about the decisions they make and how they differ from each other. One (Sora) chooses for herself not to fight to stall the process of saying goodbye, the other (Taichi) chooses to fight for the sake of others and with that speed up the said process.

This shows us how Sora and Taichi differ from each other, maybe even have grown apart because of that for that matter. But it could also be a hint to their bond and how they still, unknowingly, learn from the other's actions, thoughts and insights in some way. That it's useless to try to avoid the inevitable when it's clearly approaching full force. Because it's fate. At the point the two raindrops come together, both of them don't want to see that fate yet, but when the raindrop splits again, they've come to the conclusion to just take things the way they are (it's the 'Aha!'-moment for all the Chosen really, but it's so typically staged as a Sora vs. Taichi thing, as a symbol for everyone. Take it from someone who works in the theater field and is schooled in theater practices and making choreography. This is exactly how I would like to show my audience their bond in a subtle way without words and how that contradiction symbolizes the decision everyone in the group has to make eventually).

And for all we know, (this is so painful to say...) that one moment that raindrop splits again as Taichi makes his decision... Sora finds her peace with her decision as well... and this could be the exact moment where she loses her partner and becomes the first of the group with that loss........ Of course that's just speculations. But wouldn't it be the best 'strings of fate' trope-story between these two clearly connected childhood best friends?

So yeah, fate will always bring Taichi and Sora together (in canon: platonic. In fanon: could be any kind of relationship you like). And please, don't be ignorant of that! Whether you ship Sorato, Taiora, Taiyama, Taiorato, other Taichi, Sora and/or Yamato ships or none of them at all. These two soccer buddies hold a special bond with each other one could almost call t e l e p a t h i c~... Here's a little Digimon novel reference to that:

Taichi and Sora may have grown apart for now and Yamato is aware of that. But I believe Aang can save the world these two old friends have a connection that will last a lifetime and they will grow closer again over time as they grow up into beautiful adults!

Actually, the Kizuna events will bring the whole group closer together again and that's a headcanon that lives rent free in my mind <3

Okay the coffee shop AU definitely needs a name, but I also suck at coming up with titles 💀 But no, I'll definitely work on that, maybe try to sneak it in either Digiweek or Mimato Week so I have a deadline by when I need to finish it 🤞🏻

Mimato is difficult for me to write in the Kizuna timeline, for various reasons 💀, but since I got your ask I got to thinking and this idea was born. 

I ended up rewatching most of the movie, and the point where Menoa shares that adults lose their digimon partners in Koushiro’s office and Yamato storms out seemed like the best part to nitpick at, also keeping in mind that during the opening we only see Mimi on the plane and not the plane landing, so she could’ve arrived in Tokyo anytime. This fic also helps build tension to Mimi actually falling victim to Eosmon, imagine how angry Yamato would be if he walked her home and made sure she was safe and then the next day he finds her in the hospital 🥺😭

Tried my best to stay canon compliant in the fic, even threw in a callback to the infamous train scene from Adventure, so I hope you enjoy reading this!

Digimon Adventure 02

Non-epilogue compliant: fics where the epilogue (and now that they exist, Tri and Kizuna) isn't going to happen. Non-canon ships (most often Ken x Daisuke & Taichi x Yamat0) abound. Fics seldom related to one another unless otherwise noted.

Loss, Gain, & Other Heartaches: A new enemy brainwashes a lot of human Chosen and their partners, after destroying the original twelve's patners, leading to the Digimon's data being merged with the Chosen's.

Division of Destiny: What if Vamdemon turned Sora into a vampire and from there defeated the Chosen? Well, he ended up turning Taichi, Jou, & Mimi into vampires as well, while imprisoning Hikari and giving Yamato, Takeru, and Koushiro to Piemon and the Dark Masters as slaves. A pesky rebellion formed of Daisuke, Iori, Miyako, Ken, Osamu, and various other charactes tries to fight them. Firm ships are currently just Ken x Daisuke.

When Blood Crosses: Oh, one of my favorites and probably my oldest AU altogether. What if humans and Digimon could have children together? And what if they did already? Seven out of twelve of the Chosen are part Digimon - or more. This is a full-blown multiverse. Stories don't always relate to one another, but the basic concepts tend to be the same. Ships can vary but for the most part are Taichi x Yamato, Jou x Koushiro, Mimi x Sora, Hikari x Miyako, Ken x Daisuke, and Takeru x Iori. Not averse to Piemon x Takeru, either.

Quiet Interlude: Little fluffy pieces featuring Taichi x Yamato in an establihsed relationship during 02 and beyond.

Adaptions: I don't have much written here but I have Such Plans. It will involve Things Happening to Taichi (in season 1) and Daisuke (season 2). It will probably end with Taichi x Yamato and Ken x Daisuke.

Take To The Skies: In this world, some people have wings and can fly. Daisuke is a Flier. The Digimon Kaiser thinks that makes him the perfect pet. But he will need training, of course. Kaiser x Daisuke. Other stories might involve the others who have wings.

Return of Old Enemies: Takeru is captured by two strange Digimon and collared so he can't speak. That's only the beginning of what's going on.

Fragmented Memory: Kaiser x Daisuke. Kaiser has wiped Daisuke's memory and convinced him that they're together. The other Chosen are not happy about this.

Broken Bonds: A soulmate AU featuring Piemon x Takeru. This is also a breeds AU. Piemon murders Patamon and takes Takeru.

Fight To Remember: Kaiser has lost his memory. So has Daisuke. Together, they need to learn who they were, who they are, and who they're going to be. Ken x Daisuke, obviously.

Services Rendeed: Daisuke gets poisoned and the cure lies within territory controlled by the Kaiser. The only way to save him is for the Kaiser to do it. His price - Daisuke himself. To be his until he gets bored with Daisuke. Sadly, the Kaiser isn't easily bored. Ken x Daisuke.

Stirring Shadows: Ken had a very naughty dream about being the Kaiser again and wanting to dominate Daisuke instead of the Digital World. Now, it was just a dream - right? Ken x Daisuke, older.

Scars of Victory: The Digimon Kaiser defeated the Chosen and took Daisuke as his trophy. For seven years he's ruled over the Digital World unopposed, having blocked the older Chosen from entering the Digital World. Now the barriers have dropped - and revenge is best served cold. Ken x Daisuke, brainwashing, off-screen death.

Course of Events: Set in a breeds AU: Vamdemon notices something unusual about Daisuke when he's in line to meet Tailmon and sends him to Piemon, who discovers who and what he is. How interesting. No current ships.

Walking The Edge: The Chosen have fought the Kaiser for years without knowing his true identity. Daisuke has also been dating Ichijouji Ken for years. So when the Kaiser finally reveals who he is - well, Daisuke has a choice to make. And the Kaiser will only allow one.

Dark Brotherhood: breeds AU. Ken, as Kaiser, has discovered that his half-brother is Yamato. Or rather, Anbumon. An alliance is offered. Ships: Yamato x Taichi & Ken x Daisuke.

Danger Zone: The Kaiser is very annoyed at Daisuke's continued existence as his enemy. So he decides to change where Daisuke's allegiance lies. Kaiser x Daisuke.

Hidden Truths: Miyako-centered breeds AU, also involving Jou and his dark side Fuseiimon. No ships centered, but light indicationss of Ken x Daisuke, Jou x Koushiro, and Taichi x Yamato.

Errors of Love: Aged up AU. Daisuke is dating the Kaiser. This is probably a very terrible mistake. KEn x Daisuke.

Magical Educations In Love: Magical school AU. Established ships: Ken x Daisuke, with possible Ken x Daisuke x Takeru.

Shadowed Soul: Piemon x Vamdemon x Takeru. is it love or just sex? Takeru wishes he knew. It's also a soulmate AU.

Melody of the Heart: A world of magic and magical creatures. Loosely a mirror of my breeds verse (and I do mean loosely). Established ships: Taichi x Yamato, Ken x Daisuke, Jou x Koushiro, Mimi x Sora. Others to come.

What He Wants: M rated/non-con, Kaiser x Daisuke. That's pretty much all there is to it. Just a couple of drabbles now but I'll expand it later.

Game of Life: breeds AU. The Kaiser's noticed something about some of the Chosen and wants to know what's going on. Undecided ships.

Bitter Bargains: The Chosen have fought the Kaiser for years. He's shown a rough attachment to Daisuke - kidnapping him on a regular basis. Then one day, Daisuke wakes up to find the Kaiser in his bedroom. Oh, dear. Non-con Kaiser x Daisuke.

Sanguine Bindings: Aged up AU - and Ken's a vampire, who mind-controlled Daisuke from episode 2 onward. Brainwashing/mind control/non-graphic non-con.

Purpose of Existence: Kaiser found out about Daisuke being a very special breed and claimed him for his own. Daisuke doesn't like this but something isn't right - he listens, whether he wants to or not. Aged up/breeds AU. Ken x Daisuke.

Buds and Blossoms: A romance between Hikari and Mimi. That's about it.

No Good Decisions: Daisuke accidently eats something he shouldn't have in the Digital World. It wouldn't be so bad - if the Kaiser hadn't found him and determined that someone needed to watch him. Ken x Daisuke.

Blood Of His Blood: Breed AU. Piemon wants to live again and will ensure that he does, through his oldest son.

For All Time: Taichi's been in an accident and Yamato's not sure when he will wake up. Taichi x Yamato.

Heart of Demon, Soul of Angel: AU where Taichi is an angel and Yamato is a demon. At least it starts off that way. A lot is going to change. Established ships: Taichi x Yamato & Ken x Daisuke.

Bonds & Bondage: Kaiser goes ahead and Rings V-mon. This affects Daisuke, unexpectedly. Now what will the Chosen do? Ken x Daisuke.

Fireblood: Breeds/Firestarter/Healer AU. Vamdemon bites Yamato and awakens his dark side - not good for anyone at all. Taichi x Yamato.

Flaming Ivy: The 02 Chosen are Healers and Firestarters and are working out what that means for them. Ken x Daisuke.

Digimon Tamers

Fair Wings: Some of the Tamers have wings, including Juri, Kenta, and Ruki. Adventunres and romance thereof. Established relationship: Juri x Takato.

Digimon Frontier

Consequences of Games: Just a set of fluffy post-canon fanfics featuring the Chosen playing games and what happens after the games. Firm ships include Kouji x Kouichi and Junpei x Izumi.

Heirs Apparent: Lucemon's spirit escaped confinement and was able to have an encounter with Kimura Tomoki, siring twin boys.

Hunting The Great Game: A rewrite of Xros Wars/Hunters. Set three years instead of one after the Xros Wars. Taiki finds himself back in the Digital World and that's where it all begins.

Digimon NEXT

Knight Tales: Fantasy AU. Kahara Shou's village is slaughtered and burned down and he's the only survivor. Taken in by Barbamon, he becomes the Demon Lord's devoted Knight.

Yu-Gi-Oh DM

Pleasures of Shadows: Yami no Malik has been revived as an incubus.

Crimeland: An AU where there are three Kaiba brothers (Seto, Seth, and Mokuba) and - many other differences I haven't gotten to writing yet. Only set 'ship is Seto x Kisara.

Uncertain Choices: A modern day AU, with Atemu and Yuugi as twin brothers. Only set ship right now is Atemu x Mahaado. If I ever finish the sequel I have in mind, I will add Seto x Yuugi.

Ways of Magic: a magical AU. Seto and Mokuba are dragons. Pegasus is a sorcerer. Mai is a pirate queen. Otogi is a djinn. A few scattered set pairings such as Otogi x Bakura Ryou.

Heart of Magic: a magical AU. This one involves a magical school where various characters are students or teachers. Established ships: Atemu x Mahaado.

Gifts of Power: A Superhero AU. A large chunk of people have powers. Established relationship: Isis x Mana.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX

Reversal AU: In canon, Juudai has the poewr of the Gentle Darkness. Here, in a world very like Dark World but with differences (such as a sun), he has the power of the Destructive Darkness - and he is pure evil, enjoys it, and has the overall goal of destroying all of creation. A small, plucky rebellion stands against him. Do they stand a chance? Time will tell. Be warned: non-consensual Juudai x Johan, as well as someone becoming a vampire, and many other twisted plot points. I love this AU.

Stronger Than Water: We don't know much about Johan's past. So what if he actually grew up in Dark World, as Brron's adopted son? And was sent to kill Juudai? Firm ships are Yubel x Juudai and maybe Yubel x Juudai x Johan. I havevn't gotten far enough to be sure.

Hell's Ice: What if Ryou were the one taken by Kagemaru and Amnael instead of Fubuki? Well, add in some elemental affinities and we have the Hell Kaiser of Ice - one of the Seven Stars. No set ships othe than Yubel x Juudai, though I am debating a few.

Itch To Scratch: Juudai and Yubel are demons. Johan's an angel - or he thinks he is, anyway. What he really is, he'll find out eventually. Firm ship is Yubel x Juudai x Johan.

Bridges: So, in this series, Juudai's power is that of the Light of Creation. Johan has the Gentle Darkness - and Juudai has been possessed by the Light of Ruin for seven thousand years.

Dead Weight: It's the zombie apocalypse! Ahhh! No set in stone ships yet.

King's Champion: When a late-night break-in goes very wrong, Yubel ends up taking Juudai to Dark World for his own safety. He ends up being raised by Brron. But taking him away from Earth has consequence, both good and bad. Yubel x Juudai. Not ruling out Yubel x Juudai x Johan in the future.

Shadow Demons: Juudai: King of Hell, with Yubel and Johan as his Consorts. Ryou, a demon prince. Fujiwara Yuusuke, a shadow mage with Honest as his guardian angel. Fubuki as an angel of love. Asuka slays evil vampires. And much, much more. Established ships: Ryou x Yuusuke and Yubel x Juudai x Johan.

Echoes: Rewrites of different parts of GX. Currently only the Haou arc, but others to come. Established ships: technically none but eventually Yubel x Juudai.

In The Shadows of the Fae: Juudai is the King of the Fae with Yubel and Johan as consorts, and Shou as his servant. A delicious AU that I enjoy. Established ships: Yubel x Juudai x Johan.

In Chains: Fantasy AU. Brron is gifted Shou as a slave, and Shou has to deal with that. Not easy. Established ships: Yubel x Juudai x Johan & Edo x Ryou x Saiou.

In Any World: A series of non-connected Yubel x Juudai AUs. Each is a one-shot and is in a different AU.

Dragon and Falcon: Yuuri's a dragon & Shun's a shapeshifting falcon. Yuuri claimed Shun as a part of his hoard and his servant. And it just seems that dragon saliva does something to shapeshifters. non-con/drugged Yuuri x Shun.

Soulwings: In this AU, when soulmates meet one another (or when one's true purpose is found), wings are developed. So when Kaito and Edo cross paths... Established Kaito x Edo and alluded to Yuuri x Shun.

Summary: As more people meet their digimon partners, the challenges of digimon and humans coexisting on earth cannot be ignored. College student Anami Eimi begins her career in digimon research, hoping to help digimon and humans understand one another. When she discovers caged digimon in her new lab, she contacts the Japanese Chosen, setting off a chain of events that force the Chosen and their digimon to reevaluate the dynamics of their partnership.

This fic is set pre and post Kizuna, and is a mostly canon compliant expansion. It's a three phase story, the first starring OC Anami Eimi, then Izumi Koushiro, then Yagami Hikari. It explores the realities, challenges, and politics of digimon living on earth, and the nature of the Chosen/digimon partnership.

Can the Chosen and their digimon find the infinite possibilities that will sustain their partnerships into adulthood?

When the harsh cold of winter makes Tentomon shut down, Koushiro asks him to stay home instead of braving the elements. Tentomon refuses, citing Koushiro’s loneliness. This pushes Koushiro to reconnect with his friends, and he starts with the one he misses most…Focuses on the relationships between Koushiro and Tentomon and Koushiro and Taichi. Taishiro written in such a way that it can be interpreted as platonic or romantic. Explores what it means to be an adult and forge an adult life. Post Tri, pre Kizuna, canon setting. Fireside

Jou wrapped his arms around himself and scooted closer to the fire.  The mountain terrain was much colder than the desert they had crossed during the day.  The disparity in temperatures was almost too much. He wasn’t prepared for this!

Sora, in contrast, seemed to be every bit the survivalist despite her protests to the contrary.  Jou couldn’t complain though.  Thanks to her, they had a warm fire that Yamato was managing to cook some surprisingly normal-looking fish and misshapen fruits over.  Gabumon and Piyomon had insisted the fruit wouldn’t poison them – not exactly a ringing endorsement in Jou’s opinion.  But everyone was hungry and it wasn’t like they could just visit their local hypermarket.

Yamato handed the first cooked fish on a stick to Gomamon, who took the stick carefully between his claws.  He tore through crisp skin and made a noise of happiness, his hunger finally addressed.

“Do your fish mind that you eat them?”

Gomamon sucked out a bit of meat and gave Jou a thoughtful look as he chewed.  He stared at the fish between his claws.

“They’re not the same.  I wouldn’t eat my Marching Fishes.”

He said it with such certainty.  It was true that Gomamon’s colourful fish seemed to be quite different from the ones they caught in the nearby river.  Jou tried not to think how his partner seemed to materialise them from thin air.

“How much further do you think the base is?”

Sora pulled out her digivice and opened the map showing their position.  

“We’ve been making good time, so I imagine we’ll get there sometime early tomorrow.”

Piyomon finished her fruit (she didn’t want any fish) and rested her head against her partner.

“You think the others are…”

Yamato shoved a cooked fish towards Jou so forcefully that for a moment he had thought it would end up in his face. He gave a sheepish thanks, a little embarrassed Yamato had gotten so annoyed at his constant chatter without him realising – again.

They ate in silence for a time, the only sound coming from the light breeze rusting the trees and the occasional pop and crack of the fire.  Yamato finished his fish and threw another log on, moving it around until it started to catch.  Gabumon rested on Yamato’s back and appeared to fall asleep shortly after.

“We haven’t been able to contact the others at all,” Sora observed, cutting through the silence.

“I’m sure they’re fine.”  Yamato sounded as if he was reassuring himself as much as the others.

“I wonder how everyone in Tokyo is doing.”  Jou tossed the stick into the fire and folded his legs in front of himself.

When no one replied, he glanced over and realised that both Yamato and Sora were also staring pensively into the fire.

“Sorry.”

“Do you have family in Tokyo as well?”

Jou almost did a double-take when he realised Yamato had willingly engaged him in conversation.  He grinned despite his worry.

“My family live in Nakahara. Koushiro’s last update before we split showed that area affected by the blackout,” he added, the grin slowly slipping from his face as he thought of his brothers.

Sora suddenly perked up.  “My family live there too.  Which elementary school do you go to?  Were you on the camping trip last week?”

“Yes, I cut my finger!”  Then the rest of her words caught up with him. “Wait, we go to the same school?”

Sora nodded, her earlier gloom quickly forgotten.  “Along with Taichi and Koushiro.”

The two turned to Yamato, who glanced between them awkwardly.

“Yamato,” Gabumon opened his eyes and shifted his weight so he could make eye-contact with his partner.

The digimon seemed to win their silent battle of wills because Yamato sighed and turned back towards the other two Chosen.  

“I’m from Shimane.”

Jou frowned, trying to remember exactly where Shimane Prefecture was.  It was definitely nowhere near Tokyo.

“But you said your brother was in Tokyo,” Sora asked, somehow managing to be much more tactful than he would have.

Yamato curled up into himself and for a moment Jou wondered if that would be the end of the conversation.  He didn’t want to push Yamato into speaking about something he was clearly uncomfortable with.  Gabumon nudged his partner’s back, but that only seemed to make Yamato curl around himself more.  Jou opened his mouth to change topics, but Sora held up her hand barely above the ground and deliberately made eye-contact before she shook her head.  Yamato, who had missed the exchange entirely, slowly took in a breath.

“My parents divorced when we were young.  My brother, Takeru, still lives in the city.  We don’t really get to see each other much anymore.”

He sighed, then stretched the silence by throwing another log on the fire.  Sparks flew into the air, catching on the wind and swirling around like fireflies before fading away.

“What if he gets hurt while I’m wasting time here?”

A light, but cool, wind blew through their campsite and Jou shivered.  He thought of his family doing everything they could to help keep everyone alive.  A blackout would be putting a lot of strain on the local hospitals.

“We can only do what we’re able to.” He looked down at Gomamon, sleeping peacefully on his lap with a full belly.  “Maybe the Holy Digimon won’t be able to help, but we have to at least try.” He looked up at them, forcing a smile onto his face.  “You guys taught me that.”

Sora nodded, her own smile filled with determination.  “Plus, there are digimon who will benefit if we manage to help the Holy Digimon.”  Her fingers brushed through Piyomon’s soft feathers.  “Until then, we have to believe our families in Tokyo can hold on.”

Yamato nodded as well, but there was still tension in his shoulders.  He looked up to the sky, which flickered in places, revealing what looked like a honeycomb barrier between them and the stars.

“We should take shifts and let the digimon rest.”

“I can take the dawn shift if no one else minds,” Sora offered.

“I’ll take the middle shift,” Yamato said before focussing on Jou, “as long as you’re ok with that?”

Jou saluted.  “No problem.”

“You able to keep the fire going?”

“Hey, I’m not that incompetent!”

The three children shared a grin.

“Make sure to wake us up if there’s any trouble,” Sora said as she laid down with her partner.

Yamato silently turned away so that his back was facing the fire and Gabumon was curled in front of him.

Jou watched them all settle down and turned his attention to the moon.  It was a little lonely staying up by himself, but Gomamon’s warmth on his lap reminded him that he wasn’t alone.  Jou couldn’t remember having any school friends, or at least not any that he wasn’t also in competition with.  He wondered if Yamato and Sora would mind him calling them his friends. Suddenly, his partner shifted in his lap.  And Gomamon too, of course.

I was never really able to make more proper introductory posts / indexes of all my DigiAdvs stuff before this because every time I tried, this site would either a. Eat the post b. not show the links properly or c. It wouldn't even show in the tags correctly. So I'm making a better index post now!

I'm not an artist and my writing is more of a side thing. I mainly focus instead on A.M.V.s, since I've been steadily improving on making those over a span of many years.

Here is an index for all of my A.M.V.s / vid edits centered around either Koushiro Izumi {notably}, Taichi Yagami, and/or the KouTai / Taishiro ship. (It's pretty much my "O.T.P of {DigiAdvs} O.T.Ps", so I hope that can be respected, too. And due to these being A.M.V.s, Most of my works could probably work in a semi canon compliant sense but I'm also perfectly fine with reading other things in as A.U.s) {The post is not-rebloggable for reasons aka me wanting to be able to go back and add to it. I know there's been a lot of DigiAdvs fan-events going on lately. I usually can't participate in events for varying reasons, but I'm glad to share my past works in the form of this index. All were created out of Positivity and respect for this series.
