Nova Scotia, Day 4. {Bucket List Shot} My most productive day so far, because one: I’m feeling better, thanks for all the good thoughts, and two: that breezy weather I was whining about finally moved those sticky and stubborn clouds by noon. So I drove to Blue Rocks and did my first and pretty short time lapse in this trip, and meanwhile taking random shots with other camera, with super wide and super tele lenses (I like extremes lol) that turned out pretty good, but needs some time to pick and process and I’m too tired! Then I drove back to the Peggy’s Cove. And I’m sure I’m gonna visit it again; absolutely in love with it. Even when it’s not too kind. @rich.nixx reminded me of Geminids meteor shower, and I was on my way to do a Milky Way with the lighthouse in foreground. Two birds with one stone? Sure! Got there at 7, and the “breeze” was insane. Guessing too over 70km/h, I couldn’t even stand still, even with all the great. So I took shelter behind these big rocks, which limited my composition options, but still something that I could only see in my dreams. Two hours of shooting in that condition. Timelapse, some other shots for stacking the foreground, and a few shots of the Orion in the end, when the Moon rose, and believe it or not, hid behind the clouds. No moonrise then. Just imagine what a day it could have become! I’m walking on the clouds right now because of this. This is one single shot, edited in Lightroom on iPad (limited filters), and no photoshop to enhance those colours. We have to wait until I get back home to make a stacked version and composite the foreground. And for a time lapse that I am so looking forward to! Difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations✨ ——————————————— This was one of those days, nothing went right. From a stalled boat motor, to getting stuck in River Mud, to paddling with a 2X4 😅 This is just one example of life in the Yukon. I have come to realize that Adventure is not always *blissful*. It often times involves challenges, facing fears, finding deep inner strength and growing. Sometimes it’s about taking that deep breath, and looking to nature to find a better way. I choose to see the beauty. I would have never seen or captured these nature moments if this was just another day on the 6 Mile River. The white feathers adorning the muddy floors, the wild birds singing and flying above me like I was the first to walk the floodplain, The bright green grass embellishing the muddy levee, dancing and swaying while majestic mountains stood in admiration. Nature and Beauty always surround us - even in difficult situations. Sharp-shinned Hawk! Or maybe Cooper’s? Help me ID please 😊 He was pretty small, and his diving was one of the quietest and fastest I’ve seen! Shot on #Canon R5 + #Sigma 150-600C I used the 1.6x extra reach with in camera cropping! So these where shot at equivalent of 600x1.6 ~ 960mm.
