The Vampire AU
The au no one asked for but by God will I deliver
Soap laid on the luxurious bed, the robe around him fluttering and exposing most of his body. It shimmered, a dark red color, and across from him was Ghost. His Ghost. The Ghost.
The skull mask made it hard to see his expression, but Soap could read the hunger in his eyes without a problem. A desperation that would make a lesser man nervous. But Soap could never be nervous. Not of Ghost.
He crossed the floor quickly, the air around him bending slightly. It made him glow. And then he was on Soap, touching him with his gloves and feeling him up. His large hips pressed between his thighs, forcing his legs further apart.
Pulling the mask up enough to expose his fangs, Ghost sank his teeth into his throat and ripped it out, blood spraying everywhere.
Soap’s alarm clock broke him from the dream and he buried his face in the pillows and screamed for a few minutes.
Interviewer: So, what exactly do you like about your…
Soap: The technical term is Master, but everyone keeps insisting I just call him Ghost.
Interviewer: Got you. So your Ghos-
Soap: Well, he’s not really mine. I’m his but he’s not really mine. I just kinda work for the guy.
Interviewer: And in exchange he…
Soap: Will turn me into a vampire!
Interviewer: So how long have you been working here?
Soap: Six years.
Interviewer: Uh huh. And what do you like about Ghost?
Soap: Oh, he’s perfect. Tall, dark, mysterious. Never actually seen his face, but I’m sure he’s handsome. Never takes the mask off unless he’s feeding. He could kill me easily. He has a very sexy voice. His accent is from modern day Manchester instead of being centuries old! Apparently he changes it every few decades. I wonder what his original voice sounded like and-
The Interviewer stopped taking notes and tried to politely withstand the next thirty minutes of Soap gushing about anything and everything he could think of about Ghost. They decided not to ask about the whole “could kill me easily” part. That was this guy’s prerogative.
Interviewer: So, what’s Ghost like?
Rodolfo: He’s a fucking loser.
Interviewer: Really? His familiar-
Rodolfo: Is lovely and all, but he has terrible taste in men. I’ve seen Ghost lay on the ceiling for six hours straight, during the night no less, because he was pouting.
Interviewer: And why was he pouting?
Rodolfo: Soap was doing laundry. The laundry Ghost ordered him to do. So Soap couldn’t hang around him. Then, he wasted what time he could’ve spent with Soap on the ceiling.
Interviewer: oh…
Rodolfo: Like I said. Fucking loser. You’re not allowed to call him that though. Only me.
Interviewer: Yeah… Okay.
Soap did like he was told and ignored that there was a person watching him. He woke up a few hours before sunrise and dusted just like every other morning. He also put out an ad online pretending to be a single woman looking to lose her virginity. Usually the men that came would be sleazebags so it both cleaned up the streets and meant easy meals for the vampires.
Gaz would always say hi to him when he left for some party. Sometimes, he’d try to stop him and get a rise out of him, but Soap had long since learned how to put a pause on his feelings. If Gaz fed from him, Ghost would get all weird. Talking about nutritional value and that Soap smelled funny.
Soap had taken four showers the first time it happened but eventually he put it together.
Then, he woke up Ghost. Well, wake up was a loose term. Half of the time, Ghost would already be up. He more went to Ghost. His room had blackout curtains so if he got up during the day time, he didn’t have to risk scorching himself. It was also the plainest. Rodolfo and Alejandro’s room was gorgeous, full of rich colors and soft fabrics. Gaz had strobe lights and neons. Tons of weird furniture too. He insisted none of them were a sex thing, but Soap didn’t believe him.
Really, really, did not believe him.
But Ghost kept his plain and usually only had candles. For once, he was still in his coffin when Soap came to get him at sundown.
Soap gently knocked before he lifted the large lid.
Ghost was… large. Very, very large. Besides being 6’4, he was broad. Big arms, big shoulders. Just… big. It definitely did not influence any of Soap’s decisions. Nope. Not at all.
Thick black fabric covered every inch of his body, besides leather gloves on his hands and a ski mask on his face. Soap silently thanked God he had managed to get him away from the loose fitting balaclava he wore originally. It looked…
Anyway, the sky mask was an improvement. It had a skull design on it, though there were fangs added.
Soap only snapped back into himself when he noticed Ghost’s eyes were open.
“Johnny. Are you just going to keep staring? You’re blocking my way out.”
“Oh, of course, sir.” Soap stepped back and offered Ghost his hand. Sometimes he took it, sometimes he didn’t. Really depended on the day.
Today was one of the good days where he did. Even through the leather, Soap could feel just how cold Ghost’s skin was. It was borderline frigid and he wondered, not for the first time and definitely not the last, if it would hold heat or simply give him frostbite if they pressed against each other.
Ghost’s hand left his once he was on the floor. Sometimes, Soap wondered why he walked the way he did. There was something stiff, like a general, about his posture but he had a certain amount of grace that didn’t match how the other vampires walked. All vampires were graceful. Cat like. But Ghost always seemed like he was floating. Feet barely touching the ground.
Soap helped him out of the thick robe he slept in. It felt soft and he assumed it was used a bit like a blanket. Ghost pulled on his jacket but his eyes followed Soap.
“Did yo-”
“Laundry is done. Place is dusted. And I’m currently setting up a virgin guy to come visit.”
As if something heard him, his phone dinged. Someone responded to the ad, asking how soon he could come over.
What a fucking loser.
He was using photos of a girl from only fans (with her permission, she made him pay a small fee, but when he explained it was a “To catch a predator” type thing, she thought it was cool), so it was a hot woman, but still.
Soap checked it and responded to the message, saying the sooner the better.
Ghost reached over and slowly patted Soap’s head, making him beam. It was the closest thing he got to praise from the guy.
“So, what would you like to do, sir?” Soap smiled at him.
Ghost hummed, looking away. There was a large mirror and while his clothes could be seen, nothing else could. Soap couldn’t see his mouth, but he knew he was just about to speak when someone knocked at the front door.
“Go answer.” Ghost ordered.
Soap nodded quickly and went downstairs, noticing Alejandro and Rodolfo when he passed their room, in various states of undress, he decided to just ignore that. So no one they were expecting.
He opened the door and had to look slightly up at the man in front of him.
The man had a fishing hat, a shirt that said “Fish fear me, women love me” and a pair of military fatigues. He stared into Soap and there was a brief pause.
“Hello, sir.” Soap noticed his ears. They had a large point and when he glanced at his hands, he noticed the dark claws.
Interviewer: So what do those features mean?
Soap: Means he’s an older vampire. As I’m sure you noticed, my vampires look mostly human, besides their fashion. But once they start getting older, they look less and less human. So the less human they are, the more respect you’re supposed to show.
Interviewer: Oh. Got it.
“Price.” The man responded before just simply staring at him.
Soap winced and looked back. “Uh… Master? Alejandro? Rodolfo?” He half shouted. “We have a visitor!”
“Uh. Little familiar. Invite me.” Price didn’t sound rude, maybe a tad impatient, but not quite rude.
“My name is Soap.”
Price tilted his head. “Uh… Okay. Anyway, is Simon here?”
“No?” Soap frowned. He ran through everyone in the house. “Yeah, no. We don’t have a Simon here.”
Alejandro shoved Soap out of the way. “John! I didn’t know you’d be visiting! Come in.” Now that he had been welcomed, Price quickly stepped in the door.
“Ale. Very, very nice to see you. How have you been?” Price smiled. His fangs flashed, wicked sharp and a pearly white, just like all the other vampires in the house.
Soap quickly stepped back to let them talk, but he didn’t leave, pretending to be doing anything besides eavesdropping, which is exactly what he was doing.
“I haven’t seen you since they invented lightbulbs.” Alejandro grinned. His clothing was a little more old fashioned. Closer to what was expecting for a vampire at least. Soap thought it was funny that the youngest of the three vampires (not including Gaz, but Soap felt he didn’t really count), was the only one that still wore clothes from his own era. Alejandro was still up there in age, almost two centuries, but with Rodolfo being over three centuries and Ghost being around eight, well… it didn’t seem that old.
Soap couldn’t really talk that much, because he was 26, but semantics.
The two of them babbled on about the changes in technology and how hard it was to keep up and how touch screens were so unreliable because they only picked things up half of the time.
“They have gloves.” Soap interrupted, not thinking much of it until Alejandro glared at him.
“Gloves?” Price frowned.
“Yeah, they have stuff in the finger tips to let you use a phone. It’s because when humans wear the gloves, they can’t use the touch screen either. Gh- My master uses them.”
Price hummed. “Might have to get me a pair. Phones look so fun! I see why you keep him around, Alejandro. He’s not as dumb as most humans.”
Soap decided not to take offense to that, as a human.
“Oh, he’s not mine. He’s Simon’s.” Alejandro put his hands behind his back, altering his stance a bit.
“Nevermind. I guess he is a little stupid. He said there was no Simon here.”
Soap felt like he was short circuiting. “You mean Ghost?”
Alejandro snapped his fingers. “Oh! That’s right! We never told you his name. He doesn’t exactly need to know it, ya know?”
Price hummed. “And he never asked?”
“I did ask!”
“No, never thought to ask us.”
“But I did! You told me familiars don’t get to know!!!”
“Wow. Humans.”
Soap got the distinct feeling he was being fucked with.
Then Ghost appeared. Or more accurately, came out of his room. The world shifted, Soap’s focus, like always, being on him. Ghost quickly made his way down the stairs. His boots hugged his legs, going all the way up to his knees. He had chosen one of his longer coats so it fluttered around him.
Soap quickly wiped his mouth and tried to focus on something besides how devastatingly hot Ghost looked at all times.
“My little batling!”
BATLING
LITTLE
BATLING
Soap choked and half expected Ghost to kill Price where he stood, vampire or not. Alejandro wheezed a little.
Instead, Ghost visibly shrank down. “Sire… I am not a fledgeling anymore.” There was an accent there, and not his usual Manchester one. It was almost lyrical. Soap wished he’d use it more. “I’m also almost a millennia old.”
“Yeah, but you’re still the spunky soldier I turned! Still wear the mask I see.” Price’s disappointment was palpable, but Ghost, Simon, just shrugged it off.
“Yeah. Well. Don’t like my face being seen.”
Alejandro chipped in. “Awe, are you anxious, little batling?”
Ghost hit him so hard Alejandro’s head popped off and Soap let out a small scream.
“Suppose it’s better than when you first turned.” Price completely ignored that Ghost just fucking killed him.
Rodolfo fluttered down the stairs. “Hello John! You look lovely!” Price smiled immediately.
“And you look just as lovely as the last time I saw you.”
Soap was shocked. They were married for decades!!! And he just moves on?
“Get your nasty mitts off my husband!” Alejandro’s decapitated fucking head started to yell.
Rodolfo rushed over. “Mi noche! Mi pobre amor!” He scooped up his head and kissed his cheek before reattaching it.
Soap tried not to gag.
Alejandro’s limbs quickly started to work again and he kissed Rodolfo several times.
Ghost was already pulling his sire far away from him, the two of them falling into line like old friends.
“Do you have anything to eat? Your familiar looks delicious but I know how hard good help can be to find.”
Soap flushed and it only got worse when Ghost gave him a passing glance. “Didn’t you say someone would be coming over soon?”
“Yes, around 10. It’s 9:30 now, so shouldn’t be too long, sir.” He beamed at Ghost and Ghost just shrugged him off to keep walking. Soap tried to not let that get to him. He never liked when Ghost was in his moods like this and this new guy seemed to trigger them.
Price and Ghost disappeared and Soap was left standing there awkwardly. Alejandro had wandered off, probably back to Rodolfo.
He sighed and started to tidy up. If he knew a guest was coming, he would’ve prepared more. Probably tried ot get multiple guys to come. Or ladies if that was more this guy’s taste. Luring women in was a lot harder, but he could’ve tried! He still had a tinder set up that he could’ve used.
Soap fiddled with his hands, not sure what to do with himself. By this time of night, usually he hung out with Ghost, keeping him entertained. Without him, he didn’t really have anything to do. He already cleaned the place up before he went to bed the morning before.
Soap sighed and sat down, trying to lure more people to the house.
Around midnight, after all the people who came in were dragged downstairs and eaten with Soap not having to lift a finger, the vampires decided to have a night out. Ghost grabbed on to Soap’s arm and tugged him along, clearly wanting him to come too. He pulled away from him just long enough to change, ignoring that his foot kept tapping and his growing impatience that Soap wasn’t willing to go out in what was basically pajamas. Soap also ignored that Ghost didn’t leave the room, but he clearly wasn’t looking at him undressed.
When he was done, Ghost yanked him along and Soap had to jog to keep up. They fell in line with the other three and went to a nearby nightclub. Soap noticed it was for humans, not one of the vampire focused ones they usually went to, but just brushed it off.
Ghost quickly scouted the darkest corner table and went to hide there, Soap followed along. He sat next to Ghost. Rodolfo went to sit with them and Alejandro quickly grabbed him and yanked him to the dance floor, immediately grabbing a handful of his ass. The two of them were dressed like people from the 1800’s and Soap tried to pretend he didn’t know them because it was honestly a little embarrassing.
Rodolfo’s tongue ended up down Alejandro’s throat.
Embarrassing.
Alejandro said something that was clearly horrid in Spanish. The bartender looked positively horrified.
Very embarrassing.
Very fucking embarrassing.
Soap looked at Ghost, suddenly making eye contact with him. Ghost must’ve been staring at him. He tried not to let that thought get to him.
“Can I get you anything, master?”
Ghost clearly grimaced. “Ghost or sir, Johnny. Master thing feels weird.”
“Need anything, sir?”
“Unless you’re willing to drink bourbon and let me suck you dry later.”
Soap choked on the scotch he had. “What?”
“I’d have to kill you though. To really get a good taste.” Ghost said it so matter of fact that Soap was pretty sure the sexual way it sounded wasn’t on purpose. “And that would be a shame.”
Soap quickly drank his scotch. “How do you even know what bourbon taste like?”
“There was a similar drink when I was alive. Also, for a couple of years, I lived near a bar that only served bourbon. Once your blood has enough alcohol in it, I can taste it.”
“Can it get you drunk?”
“Yeah. Don’t like getting drunk though that’s when bad stuff happens.” Ghost moved away. “You should enjoy yourself. Go talk to people.”
“And leave you alone?”
“Yes. Leave me alone.”
Oh.
Soap watery smiled at him and nodded, quickly leaving. He went to the bar and ordered another drink.
Price glanced at him, but already a woman was trying to flirt with him and Soap didn’t want to interrupt the two. Instead, he just took the drink he ordered and downed it.
Soap made sure not to get more than tipsy. Even if his vampires didn’t get drunk, unlikely, he wanted to be alert in case he was needed.
Someone moved closer about an hour after his little exile. Handsome guy. Tall, built. If he looked a bit like Ghost, that was between Soap and God. He talked and it was clear he wasn’t the brightest bulb in the shed, but Soap didn’t care about that. As long as he was a good lay, that would work. And if he could make it quick. Maybe they could just go to an alleyway.
The man, Craig? Greg? Caleb?, went pale and looked up right as Soap felt Ghost’s hand on the back of his neck, grabbing him like a puppy he was scruffing. The cold leather pressed tight against his skin, making him shiver.
“Ghost?”
“Johnny.” He said it with an exhale. “Wait outside.”
“What?”
“Wait outside for me.” Ghost forced him up and away, unnatural strength and where he grabbed him combining so Soap couldn’t exactly fight back. He frowned at him but did go outside after deciding to just not question it.
Soap sighed and leaned against the wall near the door and lit a cigarette. He had been trying to quit, but it was hard. He took a deep puff and watched the smoke then drift to the sky.
Soap started to count down the minutes before breaking and getting his phone out. The thick concrete walls around the nightclub kept it pretty much sound proof. It was so the music wouldn’t bother everyone on the street.
Ghost didn’t usually ask these things of him. He didn’t like it.
Soap got on tinder and wanted for someone to be rude to him or condescending. He scheduled dates in areas that were secluded enough the vampires could snatch the victim but not so secluded as to ring alarm bells.
Rodolfo stepped out, Soap could tell by the sound his shoes made. He grabbed him and Soap flushed. “Maybe we should have you for dessert huh?”
Soap shivered in his grasp. “Don’t think Ghost would be too happy about that.” He turned around and had to resist the urge to flinch back.
Rodolfo was soaked in blood. He must’ve realized the state he was in because he let go. His hands had left bloody prints on Soap’s clothing. “Thought it’d be fun to clear the place out.”
“Ah… That why Ghost told me to wait outside?”
“Told him he shouldn’t bother, but he wasn’t sure if we’d recognize you if you got scared. Would you have gotten scared?” Rodolfo smiled at him. “I don’t think so. I mean last time I ate in front of yo-”
Soap got flustered and grabbed his cross necklace through his shirt. “Rodolfo!” He kept it on for the exact scenario Rodolfo mentioned. If one of them ever had too much bloodlust, ever didn’t realize it was him, he could pull it out. Never had to use it before, luckily. But it was always there. A weight on his chest.
“The sex we had was phenomenal.” Rodolfo assured, as if that was why Soap interrupted him. Maybe to him, that’s what it seemed like. They were so… shameless when it came to sex. Soap was almost jealous of it. Catholic guilt and the devastating fact he was human kept him from ever having that. “I can see why Ghost keeps you around.”
“Oh, Ghost and i have never…”
“NEVER???” Rodolfo laughed. “Seriously?? Huh. Guess it makes sense.”
Ghost came out with Alejandro hanging all over him, the two of them carrying each other basically. “I think that last guy… had more than just alcohol.” Ghost said while Alejandro made a motion to his nose to show it was likely cocaine.
Rodolfo laughed. “I told you two he smelled funny. Where’s Price?”
Alejandro opened his jacket to show where a bat was hanging on the inside of it. “Got tired and decided to take a name.”
“Old fucking man.” Ghost grinned, mask still pulled up. Soap took in what he could. Even bloody, he could make out more features than he could before.
Soap followed slightly behind and Rodolfo led them. Alejandro started singing some old drinking song in Spanish and Ghost hummed along, stumbling a little. Without thinking, Soap put his hand on his back to right him, only realizing when he felt Ghost stiffen beneath his hands. Before he could pull away and apologize for touching him without warning, Ghost’s arm was around his shoulder, yanking him closer. He used Soap to help balance himself and Alejandro.
“Ghost, if I turn into a bat can you carry both of us?”
“No.”
“What if we all turn into bats and Soap carries us?”
Ghost paused and looked at Soap, as if asking permission.
“Oh… Uh… Sure?” Soap had a hoodie on but he managed to fit Price and Alejandro in his hoodie pocket. Ghost wiggled directly into his hoodie before he could offer to let him ride on his shoulder, instead poking his head out of the neck of it, right under Soap’s head. Rodolfo, not one to walk if it could be avoided, hid in the hoodie.
Soap decided not to point out they could just, ya know, fly home. Instead, he gently carried his family back to the house. He thought about a few things and wondered briefly if Price would be his grandsire when Ghost turned him.
Would they do things like this with him? He also wondered what Gaz was doing. For good reasons, they didn’t go to the club he was at, probably not wanting to mess with him feeding, but he kinda wished he was there. Gaz probably would’ve waited outside with him.
Ghost suddenly moved and Soap put an arm on him through his hoodie to support him. He felt him get cozier in the hoodie before stilling again.
Once home, they all disappeared to their respective rooms. Sunrise was a lot closer than he realized and he suddenly felt sick for not rushing home faster, even if none of them cared.
Fuck, he’d probably have to burn the hoodie. It was disgusting. All of them had so much blood on them and it was now all over all his clothes.
He grumbled as he shoved his clothes and all of the vampires’ clothing, after they so graciously gave them to him to clean, into the bathtub and dumped a bunch of hydrogen peroxide and cold water.
Gaz came home and had brought coffee for both of them. Must’ve been a great night because he was glowing and didn’t even try to steal a bite from Soap, which he was grateful for. Soap started to clean and Gaz watched him.
Interviewer: Oh, we didn’t talk much earlier.
Gaz: Yeah we did.
Interviewer: I don’t…
They notice they have notes from them discussing how Gaz is an energy vampire that feeds off excitement and happiness. And how after those feedings, memories can get fuzzy about them.
Gaz: So yeah.
Interviewer: So why did you bring Soap coffee?
Gaz: The happier he is, the better the house vibe. Plus, his happiness and gratitude is delicious. Not for a meal, too sweet, but he’s a nice little snack.
Interviewer: Huh.
Note to self, they’re all kinda selfish assholes.

Vampire Pt 5
CW: suicidal ideation, non typical self harm, smut, Ghost finally drinks from Soap
We're back!!!
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
Ghost stared at the new people. His discomfort was immediate but subtle enough that only the people who knew him would pick up on it. He immediately sought out the places of exit and sunlight before finding Johnny.
“Now. Why were you all scolding my familiar and why is there a werewolf in my home?”
Price stood up immediately. “Well, Simon-”
“Ghost.” He corrected, glaring down Farah. She shrank back from him, a healthy respect in her eyes. No fear despite here stance. When he noticed the shaking and unconscious woman in Alejandro’s hands, he realized why. She was protecting someone. He glanced at Johnny, partially for answers and partially to make sure he was there..
His little familiar stared at him and Ghost tried not to preen. It was just because he had never seen his face before. And judging by the dumbstruck look on his face, he was probably surprised by how much he was scarred. Soap definitely was wondering how great of a warrior he was. Unfortunately, those days were far behind him, though Soap’s reaction to him made him feel fearsome in a way he hadn’t in a long time. Later, he’d assure Soap that he never, ever had to be afraid of him.
Ghost had to look away from him briefly when he heard Alex bursting in.
“Ah. Damn. Nevermind, you’re on your own.”
“Alex!” Farah growled at him, sneaking glances at all of them. The atmosphere felt tense and incredibly awkward.
Ghost moved slowly. The floor creaked beneath him as he walked. He went closer to his Johnny and noticed how he was standing. Hands behind his back. Perfect posture like he only had when he had done something wrong.
Rather than call him out in front of everyone, he circled him.
His hands.
They had ash.
Ghost knew immediately something horrible had happened. But his friends were all here and very much alive. Whoever died… well.
They could cross that bridge when they came to it.
His own hands were ungloved. Now adorned with sharp nails. He wrapped his hand around Soap’s throat, careful not to squeeze. Ghost only wanted to feel his pulse beneath his fingers.
Soap let out a breath and everyone else tensed.
Farah immediately stepped forward. “Wait, I dragged him into everything. Alright? He didn’t even want to do it.” She had her hand up, eyes on Ghost.
Ghost hated when people looked at his face. The only thing worse than being seen was retreating though.
“I’m not going to kill him. You can all relax. I need him to make me a new mask anyway. My last one was ripped.” He twisted and leaned his head down to look at Soap and continued to speak only to him. “Shame. I really liked that one. You can replace it right?” His thumb rubbed gentle circles into his skin. The tan flesh of Soap’s throat made him feel warmer. Maybe there were multiple uses for humans.
Soap must’ve noticed his pointed ears and nodded. “I’ll find a way to work around everything, sir.”
Ghost moved so he was speaking directly in his ear. “Good boy. And later, we can talk about this, huh?” He grabbed Soap’s hands, discreetly dusting them off before turning to everyone else once again.
Interviewer: So how you feeling?
Soap: I’d never be so fucking horny in my life. He called me a good boy.
Interviewer notes that Soap is still flushed: Right. He didn’t even care that you murdered someone
Soap: He just covered it up for me! That’s so against Vampire Code but he just brushed my hands off. And did you see his face??
Interviewer: He’s prettier than I was expecting.
Soap: So pretty! I can finally draw him accurately. He’s a lot paler than I was expecting, but he is British. Also, he doesn’t have any scars. That also caught me off guard. He constantly mentions them but I didn’t see anything.
Interviewer: Maybe they’re not on his face? Or he means mentally?
Soap: He’s so dreamy. And when he put his hands around my throat… What a man.
Interviewer: You know what, I think we’ve covered everything for now.
Everyone was squabbling. Ghost used Johnny as a stress ball, squeezing his arm carefully before letting go and repeating. The louds noises and the air on his face was… what was the word Soap used that one time?
Overstimulating? That was it. Overstimulating.
“What do we do about the lady?” Alejandro held up Malika. “If someone finds out we were part of a plot to steal a familiar, it could mean banishment or being forced into the sun.”
Ghost considered their options. With the vampire dead, he would have to convince them not to take Malika back. They could just cover all of this.
Price nodded. “Well, obviously we have to take them back.”
“No. If we take them back, it implicates us. The best thing is to just get rid of her.” If she was gone, no witnesses.
Farah snarled at him. “Absolutely not.”
They’d have to kill two werewolves too. And then Laswell. Ghost did not want to get rid of Laswell. Neither did he particularly think they would be capable of killing Laswell.
Rodolfo hummed. “What if we just let them keep her? As long as everyone agrees to keep quiet, you can punish Soap and we can all move on.”
“Exactly!” Alejandro nodded. “No need to kill her for no reason. Clearly, Farah here went through a lot effort to get her back.”
“Wait, how do you guys know my name?”
“We’re good friends with Kate.” Price whispered to her, standing up. “Look, maybe I’m a little more traditional, but do you really think this is wise? Really?”
Ghost shrugged. “We knew nothing. It’s daylight. No vampire is going to be looking for her.” He rubbed the tips of his fingers together, feeling ash and bone dust. No vampire indeed.
Price shook his head. “I understand you got your claws and all, but I’m the oldest here. If someone stole Soap, would you seriously be okay with it?”
Ghost tightened his grip so fast Soap yelped in pain. “I’d never let my familiar get to such a state. I’d also never hold someone against their will.”
Price narrowed his eyes. “Implying something, Simon?”
Rodolfo gently pushed their guests to sit down. “Don’t ruin this for me. I’ve been waiting for these two to fight for ages.” He settled in. “There’s coffee in the kitchen as well as soda.”
Gaz materialized on the couch. “This is the perfect way to end a night fellows.”
Interviewer: What did you mean by that?
Rudy: They’ve been walking around each other for centuries. As long as I’ve known them, there’s been this… tension. I always assumed it was sexual ya know?
Interviewer: Uh, okay.
Rudy: But I’ve been waiting decades for them to just blow up at each other.
Alejandro: Anytime they’re alone with each other, it’s especially bad. It’s mostly from Ghost. I’ve been dying to know too. I think Ghost is angry about being turned.
Rudy: Why would Ghost hate being turned? Being a vampire is amazing. You don’t regret being turned, do you?
Alejandro: Mi noche, of course not.
Interviewer makes a note that Alejandro looks a little sad when Rudy put his arms around him.
Ghost hissed at him immediately. “Ghost. I told you my name is Ghost.”
“Will you let it go, Simon? You’re not human. I’m sorry that I was so selfish.” Price sounded so condescending.
“You were!” Simon shouted. “You were selfish!! I was supposed to die on that field. I was fine with it. A hero’s end. Cut down by an enemies blade.”
“I didn’t want you to die.”
“Why? Why not? What made you decide to change my fate there? I was just a soldier! I wasn’t important!”
Price shook his head. “I put so much time into you. Trying to make sure you were okay. Keeping you from dragging yourself into the sun. Do any of them know how many times I had to feed you because you ripped your own fangs out? Tore at yourself until you barely were able to heal? Why can’t you just be thankful you’re alive?”
“Because I don’t want to be!”
The awkward silence that filled the room was suffocating.
“I wanted you to let me die. Just give me a fucking reason. You told me it was because I was special and then that I was the only person alive which I know wasn’t true. Then it was that I respected you. Wasn’t afraid. What was the real fucking answer? What reason did you have from taking my humanity away from me?”
Price stared at him before sighing. “I didn’t have a reason. I saw you among the other dying men. And that was it.”
Ghost stared at him. He felt the pinch of his fangs. The agony of ripping them out by the root. Feeling cold blood fill up his mouth and gush out from between his lips. He was always careful not to swallow because of how horribly sick it would make him. Wouldn’t fucking kill him though.
“You weren’t special, Simon. I just noticed you, lying on the ground, bleeding out. I thought you’d be appreciative.”
Ghost felt his ears ringing. “You thought wrong.”
“Clearly, Simon.”
“Ghost. Simon died a very long time ago.”
Price had brought him people. Random victims. He remember being unable to control himself once the blood started flowing. Price had encouraged it. Had tried to teach him how to survive. Unfortunately for Ghost and fortunately for Price, survival instincts did eventually step in. A year of trying to kill oneself with no luck… it still does things to a person.
“I didn’t kill you. You’re still right here.”
Ghost scowled. “You made sure of that. The girl leaves. They can have her. You’re not part of this coven or this household. Do any of them people who belong to this house have an objection?”
Rodolfo, Alejandro and Gaz all shook their heads in sync. All five of them were enraptured. Malika had just started to wake up but even she showed some interest.
Price frowned at him and he quickly stepped closer. “I’m sorry. I went too far there.”
Ghost yanked Soap along. “Tell Kate I said hi.” He was starving. The second hand blood from Rudy had already been ran through. He would’ve been fine until tonight if he hadn’t been woken up. But now, he couldn’t wait.
Soap jogged to keep up with him. “Sir…” He sounded hesitant, hand gently coming up to clasp on to Ghost’s arm. “That was pretty… intense.”
Ghost grabbed him and yanked him into his room, lifting him off the ground like a marionette. He set him on his coffin. “Johnny. Take off your shirt.”
Interviewer: So what went through your mind in that moment?
Soap: God I hope I don’t cry during sex with him.
Interviewer: Dios mio…
Soap slowly slipped his shirt off like he was unwrapping a present for Ghost. He looked shy, as if he didn’t regularly walk around shirtless during the summer. Before Ghost could even comment, he snapped the chain of his cross necklace and tossed it to the side. Big sign of trust dedicated to a person who planned on eating him.
“I can’t wait until nightfall. I’m not going to take too much.” Ghost grabbed him by his hair and forced his head back. His nose pressed right against his neck, seeking out his jugular and each of the little veins. It wasn’t really a question, more of a courtesy heads up that he would be feeding from. While doing this, he pressed himself between Johnny’s legs, trying to close the gap between them. He was just stealing warmth and he could always blame it on being hungry and upset. Other people loved when Ghost talked about his feelings.
Soap flushed impossibly bright. “Oh! Oh, yes, of course. Take what you need from me.” He buried his hands in Ghost’s hair. “Is this okay? I don’t want to touch you too much if you’re no-”
Ghost’s fangs slid into his throat. Just to the left of one of his jugular so he wouldn’t puncture it. He worried it would bleed too much and Soap may black out. Or worse.
Blood was never sweet. It was always savory or salty. Diet was a big part of it too. Healthier diets tasted better. Salt filled diets meant saltier blood. So on. So forth.
Soap was… Good. Really good. It made sense. He took good care of himself. But it surprised Ghost just how perfect he tasted.
Ghost groaned and sank in deeper. A leech. Maybe a tick would be better. Clamping his jaws into Johnny. Holding him so tight and drinking him until there was nothing left. Stealing the warmth from his veins.
Soap whimpered and Ghost slowly retracted his fangs. He closed his mouth over the wound and started to drink. His arms cradled Soap to his chest, enjoying how soft and hot he felt. The hands in his hair tightened their grip but they pulled him closer instead of pushing him away.
“I got you, Ghost.” Soap muttered to him and Ghost melted into his grip. He pulled away slowly to lap at the wound instead. Blood dribbled down Soap’s chest and his head ducked to follow the droplets back up his chest with his tongue.
Soap’s breath caught and Ghost felt him pressed against his hip. Humans get turned on by the strangest things.
Ghost finished feeding and pulled away once he was sure there was no more blood coming from the wound. He thought of ignoring the little problem Soap was having, but he thought it would be more fun to bother him about it.
“Into biting?”
Soap blushed. “I… I…”
“It’s a normal reaction, Love.” Ghost didn’t move. They were pressed against each other. “Do you need help?”
Soap just stared at him as Ghost undid his zipper. Maybe getting older came with personality changes. Maybe he was just more sadistic than he realized. Or he was looking for a distraction from earlier.
Soap made real pretty noises when Ghost got his hand around his cock. He wiped his mouth to use the little bit of blood and spit still around it as lube. Ghost stared down at Soap as he slowly moved his hands up and down. When Soap tried to look away, he grabbed his chin and made him look at him.
“Johnny. You killed someone today didn’t you?”
“It was on accident. I swear.”
“I know. I believe you. My little bodyguard huh. Protector of the innocent.” He sped up his hand and the way Soap’s thighs trembled wasn’t missed. Every time he reached the head, he’d play with his slit, using his precum to make the slide even better. “Never would’ve thought you’d have that in you. Bet you have a lot of secrets from me.”
“No. No, Ghost.” Soap grabbed his shoulders.
“You hid you were a perv. Getting off on being bitten.” Ghost spoke calmly to him, watching those ocean blue eyes fill up with tears. “Broke your necklace you were so desperate. So desperate for me.” He slowed his hand and Soap keened. “You were delicious by the way.”
Soap thrust up into his hand and nodded. “Thank you.”
“Maybe I should feed off you more often. Litter your neck with bites.” Ghost sank to his knees and deepthroated him. He forced Soap to be still since it had been a while since he had done this. He bobbed his head once he had adjusted and he purred around him when Soap finally came.
Soap was mumbling something and suddenly Ghost’s skin burned. He yanked back with a snarl and sank his nails into Soap’s hips, making him cry out.
“Do not bring up religion right now.”
“Sorry.” Soap squeaked out.
“You’re lucky you tasted good.” Ghost got up with a huff.

are you going to continue interview with the 141 or is it finished ? i just really love what we do in the shadows and seeing a fic with my faves was literally like unwrapping the best gift that you didn’t even know existed
Ngl I don't have an excuse, I just straight up forgot about this series... oops? Here's a smutty installment as an apology
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
Ghost ran his fingers through Soap’s hair as they kissed. He didn’t think he could get enough. It was like a breath of air after so many years of not being able to breath.
Soap chased his lips, eyelashes fluttering. “Ghost…” He put his hands on his shoulder. “I’d stay with you. Far after when I turn. I promise.”
Ghost cupped his face and leaned in to him. “One day, the color will be gone from your face. You’ll be forever the same. Your hair will grow slowly. Your body will never change. I’m sorry I’m selfish. I know I’m dragging this out.” He traced his cheekbones and then down to his collar.
Soap softened. “Why? Like me like this?”
“I like you alive…” Ghost leaned in and kissed his neck gently, feeling his pulse. He sank his fangs into him. His arms tightened when Soap panicked for a moment before relaxing. Soap grabbed Ghost’s biceps and held him tight.
Blood filled his mouth. It was delicious. Just as good as last time. He lapped at the bleeding wound until Soap shivered and shook. “Ghost…”
Ghost pulled away and grabbed him, yanking him inside right as the sun’s rays hit the doorstep.
Soap looked horrified. He quickly started to check Ghost out, running his hands over him to make sure he wasn’t burned anywhere. “I should’ve been more careful we had been out there talking for so long and I….”
“Johnny.” Ghost grabbed his chin and tilted his head so he’d be facing him. “It’s okay.”
Soap paused. His pale complexion mixed with the dark blood on his lips and the drip down his chin… It made him look like one of the vampires in the old movies. He bit his lip, helpless to his charms.
Ghost smiled. “Do you have your necklace on?”
“No. I didn’t bother getting a new one.” Soap stepped closer.
“Think you could fight us off?”
“You wouldn’t let them.”
Ghost hated that it was true. He’d never kill his friends, but for Johnny? He would come close.
“I don’t need to be turned right now.” Soap said softly. “But the longer you take to decide, the more I age. The more likely it is one day I’ll die. That scares me.”
“Dying?”
“Leaving you alone.”
Ghost barely thought about it. He was kissing him again, more reverent. More desperate. “Johnny… Johnny…” He picked him up and put him on the counter. “A little more time. It’s all I need.”
Soap tanged his fingers in Ghost’s hair, expecting another blowjob or maybe some fancy work with his hands. Ghost instead ripped his clothes off and laid him out. He paused only long enough to open a drawer Soap had never seen before and grabbing lube. “Ale and Rudy have these stashed everywhere in the house.” Ghost explained.
Soap nodded and gripped the counter. “It’s been a while so go slow.”
“You have trouble getting dates?”
“Never have enough alone time. And they’re not really you, are they?”
Ghost was going to go mad. He hiked Soap’s leg up and used a liberal amount of lube. He pressed his lips to Soap’s ankle as he carefully worked him open.
Soap gasped and groaned and whined. So wonderfully tight. It took him a while for Ghost to be able to slide a second finger in. “You’re doing beautifully, Love.” He mumbled and placed another kiss to his calf this time. “But you’re going to need to relax.”
“I am.” Soap whimpered out, adjusting his legs to try to spread them more. He groaned and his back arched as Ghost curled his fingers. It took more lube and a lot of patience but Ghost got him to take three, slowly curling and uncurling them before digging them in deeper.
Soap’s head lolled back as he panted, eyes screwed shut.
Ghost pulled back and carefully lined himself up.
Every vice Ghost could think of didn’t hold a candle to Soap. He was so tight. So hot. It felt like he was melting into him.
Soap let out a tiny sob as Ghost continued to push him. He tensed for a second before forcing himself to relax, body arching.
Ghost bottomed out, eyes staring at the ceiling. “Johnny. Why have you never convinced me to do this before?”
Soap looked indignant. “I tri-” Ghost thrust in, knocking the air out of him. He was slow, like promised, but with his size and how eager it was, it was still a lot. Johnny felt tears streaming down his face but it was too good for him to ask Ghost to stop. As he started to get more and more comfortable, Ghost would speed up until he found himself bent in half and being pounded into.
Soap grabbed his shoulders and buried his face in his neck, sobbing. He came hard with only Ghost’s arms around him to keep him from shattering. His body tightened around Ghost until he heard a choked sound as he came inside Soap.
Soap shivered from the sudden and Ghost scooped him up, whisking him away to his coffin. They fit surprisingly well.
Interviewer: Did you cry?
Soap: Like a fucking baby.

Vampire Part 4
The plot thickens and Ghost takes off his mask
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Soap had a hard time sleeping after getting all of his housework done. All he could think about was Alejandro’s offer and the way the two men looked intertwined. He thought of what it might be like to be between them. Threesomes had never been high on his fantasy list, usually it was bumped down by the numerous fantasies about vampires. Being bitten, biting, being picked up, being fucked in front of a mirror. Blasphemy and heresy in equal measures.
But a threesome just climbed higher on his list. His little crush on Ghost also just got a lot worse. He had never seen Ghost’s mouth not soaked in blood before. His lips were so red. His fangs poked into his bottom lip and he was so pale. More than that though, his throat had recent bite marks. Meaning Alejandro or someone else bit him often.
Soap’s heart fluttered in his chest and he ended up sitting up, needing to do something with his hands. He grabbed one of his sketchbooks and started to draw Ghost again. This time, he managed to get more of his face. Connecting it with the eyes he knew so well, he tried to piece him together.
He put music in and made sure his alarm was set. He tried his best to sleep most days but sometimes his circadian rhythm just wouldn’t let him. Between that and the adrenaline from earlier, he knew it was likely a losing battle.
Soap drew those fangs dripping in blood, his to be specific but you couldn’t tell from the sketch, and then tried to figure out what Ghost’s nose looked like.
Turns out even adrenaline wears off because he woke up to his alarm while drooling all over the sketch. He sat up slowly and his neck cracked.
“Fucking hell.” Soap stretched and wandered up around the house. He checked that there was a party nearby that the vampires could snatch people from before going up to his Ghost. In the morning, he’d go to the pack house to meet up with Farah, but for now, he’d hang out with Ghost. Like every night.
Soap smiled. When he became a familiar, he didn’t realize he would be a paid friend.
The door was locked.
The door was never locked.
“Ghost?”
“Go away.” Ghost sounded strained, like he was in pain.
Soap panicked. “Sir, are you okay? Is something wrong?”
Ghost didn’t respond.
“Sir, please.”
“Johnny.” Ghost said coldly and sternly. “I am fine. Just… come back later, please.”
Soap sighed. “Okay…” This was the second night this week that Ghost didn’t spend with him. It was selfish of him. But Soap was getting worried that Ghost had gotten… bored with him. He was immortal but he had long learned that didn’t mean much. They grew tired and bored of things quickly if they weren’t just right to catch their fancy.
In the room, Ghost felt like he was dying. His body ached all over. His ears kept ringing. His mouth had been stuffed full of cotton. Ghost hadn’t needed to breath in so long but he needed to right now.
The ski mask Soap had given him was ripped to shreds on the floor as Ghost gulped for air, but it just… wouldn’t go into his lungs. Nothing he did gave him relief from the suffocating feeling.
Something seared in his chest and there was a sharp pain growing.
Bloody tears ran down his face until his vision was red.
It didn’t stop until midnight and Ghost reluctantly knew when it was. His birthday. Technically, the day he turned but he didn’t know what his actual birthday was anymore. These days were always awful but never this bad. Usually there was just an uncomfortable feeling so he had no clue why his body decided to remind him what pain was.
He slowly ran his hands through his hair, feeling… something.
No.
No.
NO.
His denial could only do so much though. His ears were pointed. And from the way it felt, rather long. Even if his mask wasn’t destroyed, there was no way it would cover them. Ghost looked at his nails, noticing they were longer and sharper, as well as a nice obsidian color. He’d be glad he no longer had to paint his nails if not for the growing hate in his soul.
Sometimes, when he was selfish or lonely or sad, he’d pretend he was human. Just… for a bit. It was easy if he didn’t look in mirrors or run his tongue over his teeth.
But the hands in front of him were not human. The way the hair tickled the tips of his ears was not human. Even his fangs fit differently in his mouth.
Ghost scratched at the flesh on his wrists, watching the darkened blood cover his nails. He felt sick. He’d need to eat soon. Soap had gotten him used to nightly feedings but… he couldn’t stomach going outside.
Rudy, the fucking psychic Ghost swore, knocked. “Simon, are you pouting about your lover again?”
Ghost tensed. “Don’t come in.” Mist was already pouring through the door as Rudy appeared in front of him. His face fell.
“Simon. It’s nice to see you again.”
Ghost looked away. “I can’t let Soap see me like this. Please don’t let him see me like this.”
Rudy sighed and knelt in front of him. “He’s into vampires you know. I don’t think he’d care if you look a little less human.”
“I don’t want to be less human. I feel like I’m pretty inhuman as it is.” Ghost let Rudy take his wrists. “New nails.”
Rudy hissed and shook his head. “You’re not healing thanks to the little transformation you decided to have. Used everything you got.”
Ghost didn’t like the implication that it was on purpose but he let it slide. “I’m not going out there. I don’t have my mask. And Soa-”
Rudy covered Ghost’s mouth to quiet him. “I know. I get it. Look, I just came back okay? You can have a nibble off me and then we’ll figure it out.”
Ghost relaxed and mumbled.
“What was that?” He mumbled again.
“Simon.”
“I said thank you… Also stop calling you that.”
“Would you prefer batling?”
“Nevermind.” Ghost pulled Rudy in his lap easily and nosed at his throat. He took a deep breath. All vampires smelled a little too sweet and Rudy was no exception, but he could also smell fresh running blood under his skin. He sank his teeth into Rudy, feeling him tangle his fingers in his hair. His eyes closed as he drank, holding his body even closer.
A simple tap on his shoulder and he pulled away, swallowing. Rudy leaned in and kissed him before licking the blood off his lips. “Not as good the second time around.”
Ghost nodded and kissed him back, feeling slightly less terrible. “How can I hide this?”
“You could just… not hide it? There’s no reason too.”
Ghost didn’t understand what Rudy meant. He was covered in scarring. He looked like the dead.
“You’re handsome.” Rudy smiled. “Even if you look a little older now.”
Ghost cupped Rudy’s face, examining him. He was perfect. Everything a vampire should be. A perfect predator.
Ghost was that when his mask was on. When no one could see.
Rudy pulled away and lightly kissed his cheek. “Do you need anything, handsome?”
Ghost laughed softly and smiled, his new fangs biting into his lip a little. “I’m fine.”
Rudy paused and softened a little. “You have a nice smile. You really should let people see it more. I know Soap would love it.” He teased but it was good natured. Gentle. Like he knew just how fragile Ghost was in this moment. His hand ran through Ghost’s hair. It was long and went to his shoulders, a nice soft ginger.
“Thinking of bleaching it.”
“Why?”
“It’s going to have to be seen more. I don’t know. Just think it might be smart.”
Rudy patted his head. “I’m liking the implications. Think you’d make a cute blond.”
Ghost was glad he was not well fed enough to blush. Rudy would tease him “Just… give me a little time.”
“Not too much though, you understand?” Rudy glared. “I don’t want you to get lost in your own head again. Does no good for anyone.” He did leave him alone though.
Interviewer: So why did you come back?
Price: Well, I know Simon’s birthday of course! This is the year when he goes through some changes. You’d think this stuff is gradual since we live forever but our bodies change fast, just spread out.
Interviewer: Interesting. Like phases?
Price: Precisely. First year, a vampire is a fledgling. They require a lot of care in those states. Especially if they were like him and unhappy about the change. You have to keep them fed, keep them from going into the sun, teach them what they need to survive. Then, when you reach a century, some vampires get gifts. Turn into a cat, turn invisible, stuff like that. Extra things that don’t always come with the package. And today. His 800th birthday. When your ears come in. He’ll finally be a grown up.
Interviewer: Did you warn him?
Price: I was going to but it seems I was a tad late. Didn’t want to interrupt him.
Interviewer: Right… Well, what was Ghost like as a fledgeling?
Price: This interview is over.
Soap was on the other side of the house, stressing about this decision. He finally decided yes, he did want to take Alejandro’s deal. So he found him.
Alejandro was lounging on the couch, clearly waiting for something. Soap was pretty sure it was Rudy.
“Alejandro, sir.”
“Yes?” He sounded mildly irritated to be interrupted in his lounging but he sat up anyway.
Soap sat next to him. “I… Your deal.”
Alejandro looked intrigued. “Yeah. The deal. You keep quiet and if you want, I show you what Ghost kisses like.”
“I want to know.” Soap said softly. Despite everything else he had done, sleep with Rudy, get felt up by Alejandro, watch Alejandro and Ghost do… things, for some reason, this made him nervous. It was just kissing.
Alejandro touched his face carefully and had him face him. He held him so tight Soap could barely move. Soap parted his lips to speak and Alejandro leaned in, kissing him softly. His eyes stayed open and so did Soap’s. It felt too intimate. Too much. Soap quickly closed his eyes. The kiss was… gentle. Not really what Soap had been expecting. He couldn’t lean into it thanks to the hands stopping him.
Alejandro pulled away too soon. “I’m rooting for you, little buddy. I think you two could be good for each other.” He smiled.
Soap was out of breath and flustered. “Thank you…”
Alejandro shook his head. “You’re cute. It’s endearing.” He stood up. “Rudy and Ghost seem to be busy. I’m bored.”
Soap hummed. “I had a party invite? It was so you guys could grab something but you could go there?”
Alejandro nodded. “Thanks Soap. Bat.” He turned into a bat and flitted off before Soap could respond.
Soap checked the time and since it was only a little bit after midnight but no one needed him, he caught up on the sleep he missed. It felt weird, but he decided that was better than trying to find out what Ghost and Rudy were doing together.
Gaz woke him up at 5:30 sharp. “You still going to the pack house?”
“Your boyfriend tell you?”
“Yes. I’m going to tell them I had you run errands for me so they don’t want to know where you’ve gone.”
Soap stretched and caught Gaz up on what little he knew about Ghost refusing to let him in or leave his room. Gaz looked a bit concerned. “I’ll talk to him. He has a soft spot for me.”
Soap knew that to be true. He had seen Ghost pick Gaz’s sides in house arguments he wasn’t even involved in and terrorize half of Gaz’s boyfriends. They acted more like siblings than roommates half the time. Made sense Gaz had Price as his adopted Dad. “Thanks, Gaz. I just… worry, ya know?”
Gaz was clearly trying not to make a face. “Sorry, your worry is just really sour and bitter. Trying not to breath too much.”
Soap laughed and got up. “Let me figure out what these werewolves want, yeah?” He fist bumped him and followed the directions to their house.
It was nice. A little smaller but with an actual car and a giant backyard. Three dogs were running about in it.
Soap knocked and all three dogs stood up.
Oh. Not dogs. Definitely not dogs.
They walked on their hindlegs over to him and he tried to not let the intense feeling of uncanny valley and nausea distract him.
Now that they were closer he could see their size and could pick out Alex. Alex waited until his front paws were on the fence to shift back. It meant Soap wouldn’t see him naked. Well… His lower half at least.
“Hey there!” Alex smiled. “Glad you could come.”
The other two werewolves grabbed blankets to wrap around themselves before joining. One was an older lady with blond hair and the other was Farah.
Farah rushed forward, careful to keep the blanket around here. “You’re early!” She smiled. “So here’s the deal. I need your help rescuing someone from a vampire. Once it’s sunrise, we’re going to sneak in and steal her.”
“And you need me why?”
“In case the vampire shows up of course! You’re The Ghost’s familiar. None of them are going to touch you.”
Soap hummed. He supposed there was a sliver of truth to that. But anyone who knew Ghost well enough, knew that Soap was not something he’d kill for. He liked the vote of confidence though. “Alright. I’ll come with you.”
Farah smiled. “Thank you so much. This really means a lot to me.” She went inside, presumably to get dressed. The other lady had switched to a robe while he was distracted.
“My name is Kate, but most people call me Laswell. It’s nice to meet you.” She shook his hand and smiled. “Farah has been really worried about her girlfriend.”
Alex leaned in. “Just friend. Hasn’t asked her out yet.”
Laswell frowned. “Seriously?? Still? Jesus.”
Soap blinked at the word, pavloved into expecting a hiss or sizzling sound from one of his companions. There was nothing.
He missed his vampires all of sudden.
God, maybe he did need to get out more.
Farah came out and started to lead the way, ironically towards his house meaning they could’ve met up at his house and saved Soap walking at 6 in the morning but whatever. The other werewolves didn’t come with.
“So. This friend.”
“Her name is Malika. She’s been being controlled for who knows how long!”
Soap noticed she wore a choker around her neck. It looked odd with the rest of her outfit. It was plain, not made to draw attention but then she had black… lace? Satin? He didn’t know fabric. But it covered most of her skin.
“I have scarring.”
Soap quickly looked forward. “Oh. Sorry, didn’t mean to stare.”
“It’s cool. Better than when a vampire asked if I liked being collared. Or you just asking. But yeah, I have scarring.”
“What from?”
“I just said I didn’t like being asked.” Farah huffed, but there was a lot more bark than bite to the words. “I didn’t always have a pack and people are cruel.”
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine. You got anything like that?”
Soap sighed. “Growing up Scottish in Britain was certainly not ideal. Neither was being gay. Can’t say I have any scars from it. Least not physically.” He grinned at her.
“Must have a ton of mental ones if you want to be a bat.”
“Hey, they’re cool. Live forever. Turn into a bat and fly.”
“Watch everyone you love die. Kill people nightly.”
Soap hummed. “Only bad people.”
“You think every vampire follows that?”
“Mine do.” When Soap was the one in control, but he didn’t let that slip. That night at the bar was different.
Farah didn’t seem to buy it. “Right. Well, we’re here.”
The house was disheveled and held together by tape. The windows were boarded up and Soap didn’t see how anyone, let alone a vampire lived there. They tended to be high maintenance with high standards.
“You sure?”
“Yep! Malika is in there and I have to save her and you’re going to help me.”
Soap sighed. “Yeah, alright.” He grabbed one of the wooden stakes that marked the fence and handed it to Farah before grabbing his own. He checked the sun to see it was well over the horizon. “Alright, they should be sleeping. If Malika is injured or anything, do you have medical supplies at your house?”
“Basic stuff for when we shift.”
“Okay, good. My house is closer but we’ll only go there if there’s an emergency okay? My vampires may also be asleep but its better if we can just bring her straight to your house.”
Farah nodded. “Agreed.”
They both snuck into the home through the front door. It was weird, not needing an invitation. Or having to invite them in behind him.
All these years had started to fuck with his brain and Soap was just now putting together how much it was. When he got irritated, his first instinct was to hiss. When he smiled, he rarely showed off all of his teeth anymore, as if he himself had a pair of fangs to hide.
It was occurring to him now that if for any reason Ghost changed his mind and refused to turn him, Soap would still be very different. Not only because a good chunk of his life would have been waisted on a pipe dream, but such deeply ingrained habits would haunt him.
How could he live as a human when open windows give him anxiety because what if sunlight comes in? When he knew what the wind through his hair from over a 100 feet in the air felt like?
Soap wandered further into the house. It was incredibly dark which not a good sign. The vampire may be a light sleeper.
Farah sniffed the air and started to lead again. She stayed quiet and moved slowly so Soap could keep up even in the pitch black areas. Soap felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up and he started to reach for Farah. But Farah gasped and rushed forward just as his hand touched her shirt.
“Malika.”
The lady was pretty, but that wasn’t the focus. The focus was the wound on her throat. Several bite marks, none of which were healed. Barely any blood dribbled out and she was so pale.
Farah scooped her up gently.
“My place.” Soap whispered. “Trust me, i-”
Something grabbed him by the back of his hoodie and yanked him off the ground. He felt weightless right before he smashed into the floor. The wooden stake slid towards Farah but she had her hands full with Malika.
“Just go.” Soap yelled before managing to get up and start running in the opposite direction. He made it down the hall before he felt it grab his feet and start to drag him further down.
It was big and clearly old. Very, very old. Soap wondered how many children it had. How many of those children had children. Poor thing, living like this. A vampire this old should have help.
Soap kicked it in its nose though because his survival comes first. He scrambled further away and it gave chase.
“Ghost! I’m Ghost’s familiar!”
It didn’t even understand him. It just kept coming.
Soap couldn’t find the exit. Every room looked the same. Luckily there was nothing else there.
He saw a loose board covering a window and yanked. The sunlight would keep it at bay long enough for him to get it open and get out.
“Ha. Bitch.” Soap grinned right before it lunged straight at him.
Straight into the light.
He watched it set alight. Watched it burn alive.
He didn’t want it to die.
Soap quickly tried to push it out of the light but it was too late. It hit the floor and shattered like porcelain. He stood there, frozen for a while.
“Oh no. Oh no no no.”
Soap reached into the dust, hoping to find something. Anything. A way to know its name.
He’d have to ask Malika. Hopefully the poor thing had enough intellect to tell her.
Soap wanted to cry. It had been an accident. He swore it was just an accident.
He started to head home quickly, wanting to leave what he had done behind. Maybe Ghost would be up. Maybe he could just ask him to sit with him while he buried his head in the blankets and pretended this never ever happened.
Soap closed the door behind him.
“Will you just shut up and let me help?” Alejandro hissed behind him.
Farah growled. “I’m not letting you feed off her.”
Rodolfo sighed and it was clear this was an ongoing argument. Soap wondered once again how long he had been out there. “Our saliva has healing abilities. She’ll bleed out at this rate.”
“It’s true.” Soap backed them up.
“Oh. Thought you were dead.” Alejandro said it so flippantly. Like it really didn’t matter.
Soap wanted to cry again and he blamed it on the already emotional day he was having.
“Glad you’re not?” Alejandro added awkwardly. “But anyway, let me help the little familiar. Don’t want her dying on my watch. Her master can be mad at you, not me.”
Farah snarled but Malika was getting paler and still was dead asleep, so she relented. She gently let Alejandro take here, stepping back just a tiny bit so she could still watch. Alejandro’s tongue flicked out, licking the wound just once. The skin started to stitch back together, but Alejandro didn’t give her back.
Instead, he turned to Soap. Both he and Rodolfo did. Price was on the couch, casually sharpening a blade.
“What happened?”
Farah hit his shoulder. “I told you what happened.”
Rodolfo sighed. “And we believe you, but we mean after you left him alone. You’re clearly fine. Any vampire worth their fangs would’ve ripped you to shreds for theft.”
“Told them I was Ghost’s.” Soap lied, hiding his ash covered hands behind his back.
“Ah. Makes sense. We can’t just… Soap, you can’t just do that!”
Soap winced. “Look, I’m sorry. I just wanted to help. Look at the condition she’s in.”
“It’s horrible but you can’t…”
Footsteps. Unsteady footsteps.
Soap heard Ghost’s voice as he stood on the steps.
Unmasked.
Ghost was unmasked.
He was blond.
He had bleached blond hair from the looks of it.
And freckles.
And pointed ears with little piercings.
And the soft ruby lips Soap thought about all the time.
“Don’t scold my Johnny. That’s my job.”
Price hummed. “Nice to see you again, Simon.”

Vampire AU Pt 2
Answered some questions I got but no SoapGhost biting just yet
Interviewer: Why do you not like when Gaz feeds on Soap?
Ghost: It makes him smell… bland. It’s also rude. No one in the house feeds off Soap. Only I can but even there, I don’t.
The Interviewer checked this information and it turns out to strangely enough be true. No one had ever itten Soap.
Interviewer: So how do you feel about Soap?
Ghost: He’s my familiar.
Interviewer: And what does that mean to you?
Ghost: He does all of the chores around the house that I don’t want to do and gets me food.
Interviewer pauses, clearly thinking he’ll continue. He doesn’t.
Interviewer: Do you like him?
Ghost: Like him? No. Absolutely not. He’s just a human. I don’t like… stay awake thinking about him.
Ghost was once again staying awake thinking about Soap. He stared at the top of his coffin and just… thought of him.
Soap smelled good. Most of the time. He was only human and he did deal with dead bodies occasionally, so Ghost gave him grace about that. But most of the time, he smelled… delicious. Ghost had a feeling if he tasted him, he’d be savory. Not sweet, Ghost didn’t really like the sweeter bloods like Alejandro did. He’d probably taste buttery too. Warm and so human under his hands. His heartbeat was so loud at times. Always even, never afraid of Ghost even when he should be. Sometimes Ghost would pick him up to get him out of the way of things and Soap would just smile. Ghost occasionally picked him up just so he could hear his heartbeat. It was a melody that he wanted to get lost in.
This morning, it was clear he wouldn’t be sleeping, so he listened to everyone moving below. Gaz went upstairs to the attic where his bedroom was.
Soap moved down below a little longer, most likely cleaning. He liked to get it all done before heading to bed so when Ghost woke up, he didn’t have to deal with it.
The house started quieting down and he slowly stepped out of his coffin. Luckily his curtains had been pulled tight so it was safe for him to escape. He stretched and peaked out of his door.
Soap had blew out all of the candles and pulled all the curtains so Ghost walked around in the darkness. He crept downstairs to Soap’s room. It was the smallest room in the house, but it was still pretty nice. Soap had bought his own bed and had decorated it himself. Ghost saw books littering the desk and looked at them for a moment. Soap usually put them away, but he must’ve been tired. Price had bene asking him for things all night so it probably wore him out. He’d tell Price to leave him alone a bit more. While Soap acted as the house familiar, he was really Ghost’s familiar and Ghost didn’t want him to be worn out or neglect himself.
Maybe he also selfishly wanted more of Soap’s attention on him. He wasn’t used to sharing him and watching him pay more attention to the others…
Something feral and angry pressed against his fangs and Soap would be defenseless right now. He looked gorgeous, strewn among the pillows and blankets on his bed. Ghost didn’t feel bad staring since Soap had a shirt and boxers on. The house had started to get cold but in the summer, Soap sometimes didn’t wear anything. Ghost had learned quickly to knock in the summer if Soap had accidentally slept in.
But right now, he looked peaceful and luckily modest.
Soap turned over and Ghost silently stepped back, watching him stretch and get comfier. If he bit him, how would he do it? Would he sink his teeth in and rip a piece out of him? Or would he be gentle?
Would Soap let him? Not to turn him. A selfish part never, ever wanted to turn him. But if it was just to taste him, would Soap let him? The idea of the two of them tangled together as he took from him. Ghost’s fangs hurt. They ached so bad.
“So do you do this often?” Price spoke very softly and Ghost almost jumped out of his skin.
“You were always the only one that could sneak up on me.” Ghost sighed. “Just when I can’t sleep.”
Price nodded and stood next to him. It made Ghost feel weird. It was one thing for Ghost to watch his familiar, but as much as Price was his sire, he didn’t want to let him watch Soap as well. “Let’s get out of here, John.”
“I think he left someone in the basement if you’re hungry.” Price smiled at him. He looked alive in a way Ghost refused to believe he possibly could. Even back then, Price must’ve been at least 200 years old when they met. Simon had been dazzled by him. A healthy amount of respect, appreciation and probably attraction meant he didn’t notice what everyone else did.
The night he laid on that battlefield, body broken far beyond repair and ready to accept death, Price had told him he couldn’t let him die yet. It was a horrible transformation made much worse by the existing injuries. He had felt so pathetic, having Price care for him for so long. The memories were still quite a sore spot for him.
Ghost nodded and followed him to the basement. There was in fact a person down there that was only half drained. Price didn’t eat very much as he mostly just caught glances at Ghost.
“Why do you wear the mask?”
Ghost groaned immediately and sank down to the floor. “Because I want to.”
“You’re such a handsome man though! You don’t need to cover up!”
“It’s not about that though.” Ghost sighed.
“What is it about then? Those days are so long behind us. No need to hide your identity. You could be anyone now!” Price grinned. “You could just be Si-”
Ghost got up and walked away from him, shoulders tensing. He walked straight up the stairs and through the living room and he could hear Price’s anxiety like it was a force.
“Simon! It’s still fucking daylight!” Price snapped so loud it vibrated the walls.
Soap was up in moments and rushing over, clearly still sleep deprived, but more worried about Ghost than getting to sleep. “Sir, are you okay? Did something happen? Did I miss a curtain?” He looked up at Ghost who paused.
Fuck.
Ghost stared at him for a moment and watched as Soap’s eyes went down to his mouth and he became painfully aware of the fact that his mouth was uncovered. Soap’s eyes widened and his heartbeat sped up.
Ghost wanted to look in a mirror to know what he looked like, but there was never a reflection. He imagined the scars. Deep lines across his mouth in a harsh mock smile. Big fangs. One of his previous lovers had described him once. They said his lips always looked bloodstained, even if they didn’t have blood on them.
Did he still have blood on his face now? He hadn’t exactly cleaned his face off. Soap was scared. Surely he knew Ghost would never hurt him.
Interviewer: Man, he looked pretty scary with the blood. He also is the first one I’ve seen that’s actually that pale.
Soap: He’s so hot. I was so nervous he’d read my mind
Interviewer: Can they do that?
Soap: No, but like… you never know
Interviewer: What were you thinking?
Soap blushed: Very uncatholic thoughts thats for sure.
Ghost schooled his expression and reached up, pulling down his mask. “No. You did a fine job, Johnny. Are you okay? We didn’t mean to wake you.”
Soap’s heart sped up instead of slowing down like Ghost wanted. He also flushed a little. “Thank you, sir. I’m fine. Was worried I’d come up and you’d be… anyway. Do you want me to help you back in your coffin?”
Ghost looked behind him and Price was gone. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
Soap walked with him, the two falling into the same pattern they always did. When they first met, Ghost had walked faster and Soap had always jogged to keep up with him. Although it was funny, Ghost had slowed down. Rodolfo had noticed and teased him about it. Just a little.
Ghost would never ever tell Soap. Ever. But he wasn’t in the best of places when he came along. Alejandro had pointed out when he stopped sleeping for nights on end. Ghost liked to believe it was just having to make sure they didn’t eat Soap, but he knew that wasn’t really true. He just liked… hanging out with the human.
Soap offered his hand and Ghost used it to get back in his coffin.
“If you wake up again, just get my attention okay?”
“I don’t need your permission.” Ghost grumbled.
Soap only smiled. “Course not. But I get nervous. I make one mistake and… I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to you on my watch, sir.”
Ghost stared up at him. He saw a glimpse of blond hair and green eyes that did not match Soap’s brown and blue.
“Alright, Johnny.” Ghost reached up and Soap paused, watching him. He gently traced the scar over Soap’s eye, gloved fingers just barely, barely brushing it. “Have I ever asked where that came from?”
“No, sir.”
“Tell me when I wake up?”
“Of course, Ghost.” Soap smiled at him and Ghost must’ve been much more tired than he thought, because he thought of what his lips would feel like against his.
Would his fangs cut him?
Soap watched Ghost’s eyes close and how he stopped breathing. It was something that had freaked him out at first. When they slept, whatever made them breathe just stopped. They were also effectively dead to the world, almost nothing woke them up.
Soap closed the coffin and went back to his room. He put all of the books on his desk away and then went back to bed.
Soap woke up the next day and saw a giant dog in the living room. He stared at him for a few minutes before deciding that was fine and also not his business. The wolf looked at him for a few minutes before putting his head back on his paws.
Soap thought he looked kinda weird too, but again, not his business. He walked right past it and went to Ghost, fully intending to tell him about his scar and ask him what he wanted to do today. But as soon as Ghost’s eyes open, he looked angry.
Alejandro started yelling before he got a chance to really ask him about it. “SOAP WHY IS THERE A MUTT IN MY HOUSE???”
Soap swung around and frowned. “What?”
Ghost was up and at ‘em immediately. “Ale, calm down. We’ll just kick him out.”
“THERE’S A FUCKING WEREWOLF AND YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN!”
Soap winced. “Werewolf?”
Ghost rolled his eyes and went downstairs to see Gaz between Alejandro and the wolf. “Kyle, get your pet out of here.”
Soap frowned. “He is still a person?? No need to be so mean?”
“I don’t care! I hope it hurts his feelings!” Ghost scoffed and crossed his arms.
Rodolfo sighed. “Can you make him take a bath at least? He reeks.”
Soap sniffed the air, only catching the faintest scent of cologne.
Gaz hummed. “I like the smell.”
“You’re disgusting.” Rodolfo wrinkled his nose. “It smells like dog!”
Soap looked at the… werewolf. It was weird. He stared at him for a second before seeing it… change.
Soap pulled away to throw up as its body bent and twisted. That was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen.
“Sorry about that. I know its kinda gross the first time ya see it.”
“HE’S AMERICAN??” Price sounded scandalized.
“My name is Alex.” Alex was naked. Completely. Not a hint of shame about this either. Soap averted his eyes but noticed that Rodolfo and Ghost both looked him over. Alejandro waited until Alex glanced at Gaz to look him up and down, but he certainly did.
“Get him out.”
Gaz shook his head. “If you guys can be super gross with each other, I can have my werewolf boyfriend.”
Alejandro gasped. “Our love is not comparable to you coupling with that… that…”
Alex growled. “Don’t say it.”
“That dog!”
“That is so bigoted! I don’t call you guys bats.”
Alejandro growled and they started snapping at each other.
Price frowned at Gaz. “Why don’t you settle down with a nice older vampire? You can pick a rich one.”
Soap gasped and looked at Ghost who sighed. “He’s not… He’s not flirting.”
Gaz grimaced. “Price…”
Price smiled at him. “Don’t you think you need someone who understand you? He’s a werewolf. Also he’ll die in 80 years.”
Gaz nodded. “It’ll be a glorious 80 years and then I’ll find him again when he reincarnates.”
Price frowned. “But he’ll be a baby!”
“I’ll obviously wait until he’s in his 20s!”
Soap hummed. “Oh, grooming.”
Gaz gasped. “No! Not grooming! Because I won’t be talking to him!”
“You’re still going to wait until he’s legal. Groomer behavior.”
“You say as if there’s not over 700 years between you and Ghost.”
Ghost tilted his head. “What? We’re not dating.”
Gaz: They act like that and they’re not even fucking.
Interviewer: I’m so glad someone else sees it
Gaz: That’s a little pathetic honestly. Like… seriously? They even smooch?
Interviewer: Not that I’m aware of
Gaz: Wow. Wow. No wonder Ghost is always so unhappy. He hasn’t gotten laid since….
Interviewer: Since?
Gaz glances around: Too many ears. Can’t say. But yeah, I don’t think he’s done anything since then.
Interviewer: And how long was that?
Gaz: 40 years ago? I mean. Unless he’s slept with Alejandro or Rodolfo and I just didn’t know
Interviewer: Why wouldn’t they tell you?
Gaz: Because I’d want to join. Obviously.
Gaz smiled at Price. “Look, he treats me well, okay? I like him.” He looks at Alex who was now growling at Alejandro who was aggressively hissing back. “He’s so dreamy.”
Interviewer: What the fuck.
Alex huffed but decided to leave. Apparently it was a pack meeting or something. He kissed Gaz goodbye and he left.
Soap was relieved, just so his vampires would stop freaking out.
Price was sitting at the back porch, which was a bit odd, but Soap decided it wasn’t his business.
Ghost however went to check on him. He thought he had freaked him out earlier. Yeah, walking around during the daylight wasn’t his smartest move thinking back on it.
But Price didn’t look upset. He looked… enthralled.
Ghost frowned and followed his gaze to where their next door neighbor was. Their neighbor was… a person. Ghost hadn’t really talked to him. According to Soap, he was pretty nice. He happened to have a nocturnal schedule as well.
“You good?”
“He’s gorgeous.”
“We don’t eat the neighbors. Brings too much suspicion.” The neighbor was human and Price usually wanted to eat those. As did all of them really. Earlier hadn’t Ghost thought of devouring Soap?
“He reminds me of my third wife.”
Ghost blinked slowly and tried to shuffle through Price’s wives. Not all of them were women. Some were male wives and some were female wives. The third one…
“Oh my god. He does look like your wife.”

Vampire Part 3
Gaz was wrong and Soap gets a lot of attention
After Alex left, the night slowed down considerably. He noticed Ghost acting odd though. Constantly picking at his mask or his gloves like something was bothering him. He tried to talk to him, but someone would need someone and he’d be dragged away.
Price disappeared, apparently going to woo his ex wife? Who was also Phil the neighbor? Soap was confused by it, but he decided it wasn’t his business. Cleaning up the pounds of wolf hair was keeping him busy enough. Alejandro asked him for the fancy candles that smell nice and Soap ended up having to go to the store to get a new one because none of them could just agree on one of the scents they had at home.
Somehow, for the first morning in ages, Ghost went to bed without Soap. He didn’t realize until Alejandro was pulling Rudy to their coffin to sleep and he saw that the sun was coming up. Soap still checked the coffin, just in case Ghost hadn’t realized somehow. Sure enough, he was already sleep. He had stripped out of several of his layers and Soap noticed some scratches on his wrists like he had been itching himself. It was odd. Soap wondered if something happened that he missed. Something that would make his Ghost anxious.
“Johnny.”
“Ah! Sorry sir! I wanted to check on you and make sure you were asleep.”
Ghost opened his eyes to look at him. “Johnny… Your scar. We didn’t get to talk.”
Soap smiled and perked up. “Want me to tell you now?”
Ghost nodded. “Like those things… the things…”
“Bedtime stories?”
“Precisely.” Ghost purred, a rumble deep in his throat. He closed his eyes again, but he was still breathing so Soap knew he was awake.
Soap pulled up a seat and double checked the curtains before starting. “I grew up with three older sisters.”
“You act like a youngest sibling.”
Soap paused. “You say that like you know.”
“I had a younger brother once.” Ghost opened his eyes just a little. “And I’ve known plenty. You act like one.”
“Ah.” Soap tilted his head. “But I grew up with three of them and a Catholic dad.”
“Ew.”
“One day, one of them challenged me to climb to the top of the steeple.”
Ghost’s eyes opened fully as he stared, clearly interested now.
“So I did. I waited until everyone was inside, told my Dad I needed to use the bathroom and climbed to the very top. Took ages, but I managed.”
“And then?”
“Went down and went back inside. Told my sisters. And none of them believed me. So when church let out, I did it again. Right in front of the congregation.”
“Whole flock?”
“Whole flock indeed. My dad was so mad. My mom was so embarrassed. My sisters were all giggling like mad men though. Turns out they apparently did it all the time and wanted to see if I could figure it out.”
“What does this story have to do with your scar?”
“Well, my dad started yelling at me to get down right that minute. I got scared and lost my footing. Slammed down onto the pavement. Broke my foot and scratched up my face.”
Ghost narrowed his eyes. “You’re lying to me.”
“No I’m not!” Soap laughed.
“No. The story is true. But you’re lying. That’s not how you scratched up your face.”
Soap stopped laughing. While yes, Ghost was right. He didn’t expect to be called out on it. “Do you always know when I’m lying? That a vampire thing?”
“No. It’s a Ghost and Soap thing. I can tell when you lie. And you lied to me. Why?”
Soap faltered even more. He knew the answer, but he didn’t want to say. “The church thing is the reason I got the scar. You’re right it wasn’t the direct result, but it was the reason.”
“And you don’t want to tell me what actually happened?”
“No, sir.”
Ghost nodded. “That’s okay… Do you have any more stories?”
Soap was a bit surprised, but he thought of his childhood. “Yeah. One time, my dad decided we should get chickens.”
“Chickens?”
“Chickens! For eggs!” Soap continued the story, ignoring that his eyes were starting to droop. Ghost eventually stopped breathing, as still as the grave, so he forced himself up. He blew out the candles and started to clean.
“Hey.” He recognized the American accent right away.
Soap turned around. “Alex right?”
The tall werewolf smiled at him. Luckily completely clothed. “Yep! Gaz turned in early, apparently he accidentally fed on someone who’s mom died so he wasn’t feeling well. Did you need help?”
Soap paused and thought about it. It was already 10. It would take him ages to clean up by himself. “Yeah, that sounds nice.”
Alex perked up and started helping. He listened to everything Soap said and they got it done in record timing.
Soap yawned. “I think I’m… gonna head to bed.”
Alex nodded. “Hey, I was curious.”
Oh no.
“There’s a few hate groups around here. Why have you never had the vamps eat those?”
Soap shrugged. “They’re not garbage disposals.”
“Gaz told me about your Tinder. And Craig’s list. I know that’s not completely true.”
“I’m Scottish.” Soap admitted with a groan. “Lot of them don’t like me either. Or they can tell I’m gay.”
Alex nodded. “I’m American. And straight passing. You ever want to lure them in with my help… I’d be happy to.” He smiled and Soap noticed how sharp his teeth were.
Soap just nodded. “I’ll think about it…”
Alex smiled but he was clearly thinking about something. It made Soap nervous.
“Might want to spray Febreze or something! Wouldn’t want you to get in trouble.” He turned around and left.
What a weird fucking guy…
Soap got up and woke Ghost up like every sunset. “Sleep well Ghost?”
Ghost sat up slowly and stretched instead of answering. He shook his head like he was trying to dislodge water out of them.
“You alright, sir?”
Ghost touched the sides of his head, pressing his palm down over where his ears would be. “Yeah… I’m fine…” He didn’t take Soap’s hand.
Soap frowned and gently touched his shoulder. “Ghost, are you sure you’re okay? Is it one of your bad days?”
Ghost looked at Soap, sniffing. For a moment, he feared the worst. That Alex’s scent was still stuck to his clothing. But just as quickly, he moved on. “‘M not hungry. Just uh… Make sure everyone else is fed. And then can we watch that show you showed me? With the blond lady?”
“Buffy the Vampire slayer?”
“Yes. I like the way she fights. Reminds me of the warriors I died with.” He shuffled forward, still seeming a bit off. Soap arranged for three people under the guise of a party to arrive and then set up the TV. Ghost sat right next to him, almost touching him. Both of them refused to lean into the other, so they stayed at a sort of stalemate. Normally that is.
Ghost leaned into his shoulder, leeching the warmth out of him.
Soap froze, not used to this. He moved just a little and Ghost started to pull away, so he gently tugged him back. It was… cozy. Even if Soap felt cold. He must’ve shivered because Ghost grabbed a blanket and then pulled him closer so he was leaning into his chest. The situation actually made him more cold, but Soap didn’t want to tell him that he was the problem. Eventually, he did start to warm up, answering one of questions at least. Ghost can be heated up.
Soap imagined Ghost in a little cup in the microwave and bit his cheek to keep from laughing at the idea. Ghost watched Buffy, always looking excited when she came on. Now that he was so close, Soap could also feel the twitches in his muscles when she fought, as if he wanted to leap into battle with him.
Soap knew of course that Ghost had been a warrior. Apparently, a very prestigious one. But it just… didn’t fit with the Ghost he had in his head. The man was dangerous, honestly he was the scariest of people in the house on first glance. But once he got to know them, Ghost didn’t really seem that scary. It was hard for him to see him fighting through hoards of people, all while human. To imagine him ripping others to shreds with his sword instead of one person at a time with his teeth.
“Ghost. Can I ask you a question? Since you asked me questions earlier?”
Ghost shrugged. “Won’t promise I’ll answer, but sure.”
“What were you like as a human?”
Ghost sighed. “Better.”
Soap didn’t like that answer very much. “I like how you are now.”
“I was… different. Promise not to judge me too harshly? I know rules have changed.”
Soap didn’t really understand but he agreed.
“I had many wives. Using wife gender neutrally. Some were men, some were women, some were neither.”
“You had a harem??”
“Guess so? I don’t know. I had many though. I was also born during the warm period, so food was abundant. I never dealt with a famine while alive. Only heard of them distantly. My job was a conqueror. Bringing new lands back to my King. Met a few Scottish people in my day, though they only spoke Gaelic.” His hand came up, touching Soap’s face. Tracing the lines of his facial hair and then his lips. “Nice people. Food was good.”
Soap couldn’t breath. “Any of your wives…”
“A few.” Ghost looked guilty. “I never hurt them. Not physically. Never mistreated any of them. Lots of men in my time did. My country was not the best of women, but I… I never…”
“I believe you. Don’t worry.” Soap smiled. Because he did. Ghost would never.
“Johnny. You’re too good. Why do you want this?”
It sounded an awful lot like why do you want me.
“I want to be a vampire because…” Soap hesitated. “I…”
Ghost shook his head. “You deserve better.”
“But I want this. You promised.” Soap grabbed his shirt hard, feeling Ghost tense.
“I did. And I’ll make good on it.” Ghost made eye contact with him and it burned. It bubbled and singed and Soap wanted to kiss him. Wanted to mouth at the fabric. Wanted to feel his hands on him.
For a moment, just one, Ghost looked like he intended to do that. His hands grabbed him hard and pulled him closer.
“GHOST THE FUCKING DOG IS BACK.”
Ghost turned away when he heard Alejandro’s screams. He laughed and scooped Soap up before dropping him back on the couch. “Wait here. I’ll be right back.”
Soap wished Rodolfo hadn’t reattached Alejandro’s head.
The window opened and a lady slid in. “Hey! Are you the familiar?” She was clearly not a vampire since she just fucking waltzed in.
Soap went to yell but she quickly put her hands up. “Wait! Wait!! Please, don’t get them just yet. Alex is keeping them all distracted.”
Soap frowned but quieted down. She was tall, about his height and looked to be from the middle east. She was really pretty.
“I need your help. Badly.”
Soap frowned. “How could I help you?”
“I have a friend who’s been forced to be a familiar.”
“Oh, a thrall?”
She paused. “A thrall??”
“Yes. A person forced to service a vampire. It’s a whole thing. Anyway, she’s a thrall I guess. And I need your help to free her, you know, since you’re pro familiar rights?”
Soap frowned. “I mean… I’m pro equal rights, but I wouldn’t say I’m really out there advocating for familiars specifically.”
“But the bats treat you so well??”
Soap wanted to know what vampires were being so cruel that this was considered top tier treatment. “Let’s ignore that. Look, I can talk to Ghost so we ca-”
“No! This is why I came to you directly. I only want to talk to you about this. I don’t trust them.”
Soap saw her teeth. Sharp back teeth, longer canines. “You’re a werewolf?”
“Yes.”
“Is your friend a werewolf?”
“No. She’s human.”
“And your name is?”
“Farah! Very nice to meet you by the way. Sorry I had to barge in like this, but its a life or death scenario. Tomorrow morning, can you meet me at our pack house?”
“Tomorrow morning meaning in a few hours or like… actually tomorrow morning?”
Farah gave him an unimpressed stare.
“It’s an important distinction!! I’ve had this problem before.” Soap explained.
“Actually tomorrow morning.”
“Thank God, I had stuff I needed to do.”
Farah twitched. “Please just… meet me.”
“Will do!”
She looked up and suddenly threw herself back out the window. Ghost came back in and saw him. “There you are. You okay?” He crossed the room and quickly touched him. It was clinical, clearly just wanting to make sure he’s okay.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry. Did you get him out of here?”
“I did. Let’s watch more later.”
Soap smiled. “I’ll leave it where it is.” He frowned as soon as Ghost turned around, noticing him scratching at his ears again. How odd. He hoped he was okay.
Soap checked on Price to see how he was doing. Only to see him at the fence, talking to the neighbor. He sidled up. “Oh, hey Graves.”
“Hey Soap! Didn’t tell me you guys had family visiting.” He smiled and kept glancing at Price with something close to suspicion. Soap chanced a look at Price, surprised to find him so… calm. Smiling expertly to hide the teeth.
“Soap also didn’t tell me how cute the neighbors are.”
Graves blushed. “British. Like your accent.”
“I’m sure it would sound much better betwe-”
Soap took his cross necklace out under the guise of fiddling with it. Price ended what he was saying with a wheeze, clearly trying to not make his disdain noticeable.
Soap smiled. “Nice to see you again. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on him.”
Graves just nodded and looked at Price again before leaving. He glanced back at Price before going back in the house.
“You bastard.”
“Don’t sexually harass my neighbors.”
Price hissed at him and left angrily.
Soap cleaned the bodies out of the basement and stretched. Thanks to Alex’s help, there was no other cleaning to do. Ghost would probably be in his room.
He was not. There was however some noise in one of the spare rooms.
Soap was stupid enough to look inside said room.
Alejandro had Ghost against the wall. The two of them chest to chest. They were touching all over each other and half of their clothes were strewn about.
Ah.
Ah.
Made sense. Alejandro and Rodolfo in an open relationship. Vampires were needy creatures.
Ghost groaned and nuzzled into Alejandro’s throat. Alejandro’s hands tightened on his hips to pull him closer.
Very needy.
Soap still felt… slightly hurt. He wasn’t sure why though. Because Ghost was with someone else? That was… stupid.
Ghost’s hand sped up and Alejandro spoke to him, right in his ear so Soap couldn’t hear him. Ghost tensed up and pressed tighter to Alejandro, his grip would probably bruise. Soap could faintly hear them both panting, the fake need to breath coming out.
“There ya go, Simon. Feel better.” Alejandro teased, forcing his head back as he mouthed at his throat.
“Go fuck yourself.”
“There you are. I knew you were just in a bad mood. Just need to a pick me up.” Alejandro purred and pressed him back against the wall. He continued rutting into Ghost’s hand as he lifted the fabric to properly bite his throat. Then, he slid it further up to kiss him properly.
Ghost’s free hand slid up into his hair, combing through him before he whimpered, shaking as he came. Alejandro followed right after, sinking his teeth into Ghost’s flesh. Ghost snarled at him for that and yanked him back.
“Sorry, sorry. You taste nice.”
“I taste foul. Like all vampires do. Now get out of here.”
Alejandro licked at the mess on his hand and Soap quickly backed off. If he got caught, that would…
Would it be bad? Probably not honestly. Maybe for Ghost. To be seen like that without his consent…
It just not hit Soap what he had done. He watched his housemates fuck. Or at least jerk each other off. Like a perv!! He watched them like a perv!!
Soap quickly left as quickly as possible, all but fleeing the situation. This was awful. Terrible. Disgusting. He grabbed his cross necklace and tried to figure out how he was supposed to look Ghost in the eye later when he put him to bed.
Difficult was the fucking answer. Ghost was in a much better mood than earlier and Soap knew why. It drove him crazy.
If Alex hadn’t interrupted, would that have been him? Maybe Ghost would’ve kissed him? Even if it was just a need based thing, it would’ve happened.
He left the room in a daze.
“Say a word about that to anyone and I’ll kill you.”
Soap jumped out of his skin before whirling around to look at Alejandro in the shadow of the hallway. He looked menacing, something he very seldom did.
“I didn’t mean to watch okay? And I promise I’d never want to get you in trouble with Rodolfo.”
Alejandro sighed. “Rodolfo is well aware of what I do. I’d never go behind my husband’s back for anything. As much as I enjoy Ghost, not even he’s worth that. I’ll kill you because Ghost will be upset. He let his guard down and I let you watch.”
“Let me?”
“You think I didn’t smell you? The cologne you wear because you think it covers up the scent of decay from the bodies, the savory scent of your blood and skin. Not to mention your heartbeat. It sped up when I lifted the mask. Did even more when I kissed him. I know it wasn’t me that had you like that.” Alejandro smiled a little and Soap’s heart sped up. His fangs were bloody. “I’m sorry.”
“Why?”
Alejandro kept staring at him before moving closer. Soap backed up instinctively. Rodolfo didn’t scare him quite as much. They had slept together a few times. Hard to find him scary. Ghost wasn’t scary. Never really had been.
But Alejandro? Alejandro still scared him. He got closer until they were pressed to the wall like he had Ghost earlier. “Do you want to know what it felt like?”
“What what felt like?”
“Kissing him. I can show you.” Alejandro leaned in closer and Soap’s breath caught.
“I…” Soap couldn’t get enough breath in his lungs to respond.
Alejandro pulled away. “Tell me if you change your mind.” He grinned. “Sun just rose. I need to get to bed before Rudy notices I’m gone.”
Soap stood there for a long time, just focusing on his breathing.

Vampire Part 9
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Graves kills someone confirmed??
Price’s wedding was set to take place at a beautiful place. A farm owned by an old friend, The Baron. It was full of different plants with most in full bloom.
Especially wolfsbane.
Alex and Farah started to hack and cough almost immediately. Laswell’s eyes welled up and she clearly struggled, but she managed to compose herself just a tiny bit better.
Gaz worried over Alex and tried to get him to stay sitting down in the farmhouse. There were a few bouquets of wolfsbane around that Gaz and Malika made quick work to get rid of the bundles near the two of them but it didn’t help much.
Price came out, looking rather dashing in his blue suit. Soap was a little surprised by how plain it was with no intricate details or lace or pompous collars that he had come to expect from most vampires. But he looked happy, smiling radiantly.
Laswell swallowed thickly and stood up. “John, there’s a lot of wolfsbane.” She sounded very polite, clearly not trying to argue or ruin his wedding.
“Clara wanted it there.” He continued to smile.
“We’re allergic. We may have to leave early.”
Price visibly deflated. “Please just stay for the ceremony, I need you here, Kate.” He grabbed her hands, looking earnest.
Laswell sighed. “If they need to leave, they will. But I’ll tough it out for you, old friend.”
Price hugged her tight and pulled back. “Thank you, darling. And where is your wife this evening?”
“She had a few final touches to make to the cake. But she’ll be here.” Laswell started to cough and had to sit down. Soap pretended he didn’t see the blood splattered between her fingers.
It was cruel, to put wolfsbane everywhere. He didn’t understand how neither the bride nor groom though that may be a bad idea considering the amount of werewolves in attendance.
Ghost got Soap’s attention and gave him a bundle of masks. Soap smiled at him and Ghost glanced away. He gave the werewolves the masks, thinking they looked rather odd in the skull insignia. Farah had her head in her girlfriend’s lap, clearly trying to breathe again.
Alejandro and Rodolfo also silently cleared out the rest of the wolfsbane. It ruined the look of the wedding, but Price barely seemed to notice and if Clara had an issue, she could take it up with Soap.
And then Ghost when inevitably she tried to curse Soap.
Speaking of curses, he glanced at Chuy who was in the back, still cradling Reyes. He gave him more food and continued to pet him. Chuy never set him down if it could be helped. Always worried he’d run off and disappear somewhere. He hadn’t been sleeping much until Soap had the great idea to get him a rat cage. Despite how much it hurt his wallet, he made sure it had all the bells and whistles for him. Chuy had finally gotten some sleep.
Soap knew he wasn’t a vampire. Alex and Farah thinking he was a werewolf confirmed it for him. Chuy had never called himself anything.
Well, anything other than Enzo’s.
He watched the way he lovingly stroked Reyes. Eyes full of tears and anguish so thick it hurt to look at. They had not been able to contact any local witches, though apparently Koenig may know one named Horangi.
When Soap had pointed out Horangi just meant Tiger, Ghost countered that Koenig just meant King so how was it any different. Soap didn’t speak up again.
Koenig could not make it to the wedding but would hopefully be at the house the next day with the witch in tow to fix Reyes. Hopefully. For Chuy’s sake at least. He was back in his cowboy outfit and hadn’t budged.
“Johnny.” Ghost beckoned and he quickly sat by him. He was a little surprised there was no best man or anything, but apparently vampires just didn’t really do that. Or, at least, the culture that Ghost and Price were from didn’t. All they needed was one person as witness.
Ghost served as the witness, which meant he just needed to watch it. Soap sat next to him, ready to jump up and get anything Ghost needed. His hand ended up on the back of Soap’s neck, just holding gently. “Relax. Enjoy the wedding.”
“It’s a bit hard when the werewolves are in such pain.” He glanced over. The masks seemed to help some, but Gaz was clearly angry about the entire situation. Every time Price would smile or wander around the reception room, Gaz would glare, eyes cutting into him so hard that Soap started to feel sick from it. Gaz gave off a harsh aura, similar to how Soap felt when he was feeding off of him. It was awful, but Price seemed blissfully aware. He was starting to wonder if Alejandro was right about Price no longer being all there. If maybe at one point, he was the man Ghost and Rodolfo saw him as.
But watching the werewolves he agreed, almost insisted, to invite suffering and that he married so quickly and that he let his fiance hurt Chuy so deeply and how even now, he seemed naive to how uncomfortable Ghost right now, it was hard for Soap to find the respect he should have for him.
Interviewer: So. How is the wedding going so far?
Ghost: I hate it.
Interviewer: Something specific wrong?
Ghost: My ears are showing. People are here. Something is off. There’s… garlic.
Interviewer: Garlic?
Ghost: Yeah. Garlic… And I think rice? But I think that’s normal at weddings.
Laswell’s wife, a lovely lady named Willow, slipped in and sat next to Laswell. She had brought benadryl for all of them and she showered her wife in kisses. Soap was fairly certain he heard her whispering some praise to Kate for handling it so well.
Clara was… a bride? Soap was a little surprised by her outfit. It was a rather plain black dress with her nails painted black. A little on the nose for a vampire’s bride. She walked down the aisle and they all sat up to watch her.
Price smiled, tilting his head. He grabbed her hands and The Baron, the lovely man officiating since Clara insisted someone do it, started to speak. The G-word was of course not spoken.
In the middle of the ceremony, The Baron asked if anyone had any objections.
Clara sighed softly. “It has been so fun being with you, John. Truly.” She snapped and rice fell from the ceiling in a giant circle around all of them. Soap wrinkled his nose when garlic hit his nose. “But unfortunately, you’re not much use to me alive.”
Price had the gall to be shocked.
The Baron shrugged and stepped back. If he died, so did about half of the vampires in the world thanks to sire rules, so no one exactly blamed him. His life was rather important.
Price gasped. “Clara. I hoped you’d love me enough to change your mind.”
“Wait, you knew she’d try to kill you?” Alejandro asked, none of them bothering to move from their seat.
Soap was still a little confused about the garlic rice. Was no one going to address that?
Gaz stood up. “You purposely put the wolfsbane in here didn’t you?? To poison my fucking boyfriend.”
“He was actually collateral damage. I needed Kate off her game.”
“That’s Laswell to you.” Laswell barked out, trying to stand. She almost immediately doubled over with hacking coughs and Willow caught her, gently helping her back down.
The glare that Willow shot at Clara was enough to send chills down everyone’s spines. “How fucking dare you.”
“Oh, fuck off. Just let me take Price’s heart here and I’ll be on my way.”
Soap looked at Ghost. “Are you going to do anything?”
Rodolfo answered. “Uh, so we’d have to count the rice. Which would take a while. But it’s also covered in garlic. So we can’t touch it to count it. Meaning we’d probably lose count.”
Soap nodded. “Ah. Smart.”
“Stupidly.” Ghost nodded. “But I have an idea.” He turned to Price. “You know if you die, I die right?”
Price suddenly snapped to it. He backed away. “You can’t kill me. You’d kill Simon!”
“I’m prepared to make that sacrifice.”
“I’m not!” Soap shouted at her. Clara looked at hm and quickly raised her hand. He shot his hands up in surrender and backed down. He was not about to be a fucking rat. No one here would be as nice as Chuy did.
Plus, he had a funny feeling Price could handle this.
The stained glass of the reception hall suddenly shattered. A bolt went straight through Price’s chest. Not his heart, the exact center. His head made a harsh crack against the ground though.
And then down came… Graves?
Soap was starting to feel like he was losing the plot. He glanced back at Chuy, who was looking at him, just as confused.
Graves was dressed like Reyes had been that day. Trenchcoat, blades and a crossbow with tipped arrows. He didn’t aim it at Price though, he instead aimed it at Clara.
She lashed out, a wave of slick looking magic that sent Graves back a few feet. Then, she snapped, the same horrible snap that turned Reyes into a rat.
No effect.
Clara’s mouth twisted and she tried again.
Nothing.
She started lashing out, different magic being thrown at him. Graves reached into his shirt and Soap stood up, prepared to cover them if it was cross.
It was an emblem of some kind.
“There are rules to being a hunter. Always go in to a place prepared. Never leave yourself open. Watch what happens. I was just fine letting these guys run around. Frankly, they cleaned up the human monsters just as well as I did the monster monsters. And you had to fuck that up.”
Clara scoffed and shot at him again. He sidestepped it easily, moving a lot faster than Soap would really expect.
Graves lined up the bolt. It went straight through her heart. Clearly on purpose. She cracked like glass. Graves didn’t bother to do much else.
Ghost was still alive, so Price was clearly living. That was made clear when Graves yanked the bolt out of his chest and Price groaned.
“You killed her.”
“I did.”
“Thank you.”
Graves shrugged. He put his foot at Price’s throat. “Don’t ever do something that stupid again. Now, go find me a broom so I can release everyone.”
Chuy got up. “I could’ve left the whole time. I’m going home.”
“Couldn’t have helped?”
“....Nah.” Chuy carried Reyes with him.
Graves threw his hands up and Gaz, who also honestly could’ve left at any point, completely unaffected by the garlic and the counting, finally helped the werewolves out.
Farah huffed. “Best wedding I’ve ever been to.”
Malika laughed. “Is it a wedding if no one actually got married?”
Soap was still staring at Graves, feeling weird about the whole thing. “So when you and I were talking?”
“I was monitoring the situation. Hope you don’t take it too personal. Just needed to make sure nothing happened to the only neighbors I can tolerate.” Graves smiled and when Price came back, he swept the rice to the side and the vampires turned to bats, quickly escaping. None of them really seemed interested in talking to Price.
Soap noticed something though. There was a little blood on Price’s face, just black enough to be vampire’s. And there was something in his eyes. Something extremely lucid that hadn’t been there before.
“I need to apologize to my boys.”

Vampire Pt 10
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9
Price sat in front of Ghost and Gaz. “I am deeply sorry.”
Ghost and Gaz exchanged glances before Gaz took a deep breath. “I don’t forgive you.”
Price paused, looking a tad startled. “What?”
“We don’t forgive you.” Ghost said coldly. He glared into Price. “You let her turn Reyes into a rat, surround us with holy water soaked rice and almost killed the werewolves. Kate is still having trouble breathing and Alex keeps coughing.”
Price nodded. “I know. And I plan to apologize to her later. And I’ve already talked with Koenig and got in touch with Horangi. I’ll be paying him handsomely for his services to fix Reyes.”
Gaz got up. “Not good enough! It would be bad enough if it was Alex. I could blame it on myself. But you invited his pack. They’ve all been struggling and to make things worse, Alex hasn’t been talking to me. He’s been too busy trying to make sure Farah and Laswell are fine. You could’ve seriously hurt them.”
Price winced. “I know, son. And I’m really sorry.”
“Can you drop the dad act for five minutes? Please?” Gaz pinched the bridge of his nose, exasperated and tired.
Soap covered his mouth. Price’s face just fell. But he learned his lesson with Ghost.
“Of course, Gaz. I’m sorry. Truly. I’ll talk to Alex. I’ll make it clear to him that you had no idea.”
“What’s that going to do?? Having you defend me to him?” Gaz threw his hands up and just shook his head. “Just… drop it. I’ll take care of Alex. Just stay out of it.”
Price nodded. “I understand. I do. I promise I’ll make this up to you.”
Gaz shook his head. “You clearly don’t understand at all. I can’t…. God.”
Both vampires hissed.
“Sorry Ghost.”
“Yeah, no worries.” Ghost mumbled, though it clearly still hurt.
Price took a deep breath. “I really am sorry. And Ghost, I’m sorry for disrespecting you.”
Ghost sighed. “No. Not this time. You can’t just… look at me with puppy eyes and expect everything to be forgiven. You’ve been doing this for centuries.”
Price winced. “Simon, I really am so sorry.”
“Fix Reyes. Don’t call me Simon. And stay somewhere else for now.”
Price nodded. “Of course. And after that, we’ll talk?”
“Yeah. We’ll talk.” Ghost got up and left the room.
“Gaz. Please.”
“No. Just… no.” Gaz left him as well.
Interviewer: …
Price: Ever since the wedding, my… thoughts have been more organized. I think more clearly.
Interviewer: I saw. You think that has to do with the hit to your head?”
Price: It’s… possible. I am old. Sometimes we get squirrely in old age. Maybe it knocked something back in to place.
Interviewer: I understand.
Price: I just want my boys to forgive me again.
Koenig arrived in the middle of the night. He wore a hood over his head that covered his entire face. Giant blue eyes blinked at Soap.
“Please, come in.” His voice wavered slightly as Koenig stepped in. Tall. So tall.
His companion was also tall, but not nearly as so. He had a mask and his eyes were like an actual cats.
Horangi paused and looked at Soap, eyes narrowing. “You are?”
“Soap. Ghost’s familiar.”
“So where is… the rat?”
Soap nodded. Straight to the point. He could appreciate that. “He’s in the other room with Chuy.”
Koenig hummed. “Leibling, do you want me with you?”
Horangi simply nodded and walked to the suggested room. He entered the room and saw the giant glass tank with Reyes. He glanced at him, humming. “This transformation was… messy. Not very well done.”
Chuy started to wring his hands. “So? Can you turn him back or not?”
Horangi nodded. “I’ll need things. It’ll take time. But yeah, I can make him human again.”
Chuy sighed. “Thank god. How soon?”
“Based on how badly it was done, I’ll need until tomorrow night to gather things. I’ll do it while you all sleep. Koenig, I’ll need you a little more afterwards, gongjunim.”
Soap watched them. It was different than Price and his fiance. This was… better. Koenig grabbed Horangi’s hands and pulled them under his hood, clearly kissing them. It was sweet.
Soap found himself leaving and finding Ghost who had decided he needed some time to think. He sat next to him, holding a cup of coffee.
Ghost stared into the stars and he looked rather tired. “Johnny.”
Soap looked over.
“When I turn you, what do you plan to do?”
Soap paused and thought about it. “I usually think about what I’ll be like years down the line…” And most of the thoughts centered still being with Ghost. Just… a different relationship.
“Think about it. What would you do? First night, you’re turned. You can go anywhere. Do anything.”
“I’d probably fly a bunch.”
Ghost smiled. “As a bat or a person.”
“Person. I’m worried i won’t be able to turn back.”
Ghost laughed. “I’d walk you through it. I’d… be a good sire.”
Soap hesitated. “Price tends to see you as his son and, I know you’re mad at him right now, but you see him a bit as a dad. Would we have the same relationship?” That would be weird.
“No.” Ghost answered rather quickly. “You’re not my kid. Sire and… batling relationships haven’t been like that for a while. Fell out of fashion 5 centuries ago. Became more romantic.”
Soap leaned in slightly. “Would we be romantic?”
Ghost looked at Soap’s lips. “Would you want that?”
Soap leaned forward and went to kiss him. Ghost hesitated though and they both paused. Mouth centimeters apart. “Please.”

Brown Sugar Latte
Ghost ended up back at the cafe the very next day. Soap looked tired. And sad, but that was the man’s permanent state of being Ghost was coming to realize. He perked up when he saw Ghost.
“What are you trying today?”
“What do you normally drink?” Ghost smiled at him. He exaggerated it enough that it was clear even through the mask.
Soap smiled and Ghost instantly felt warmer. “Oh. Usually a brown sugar latte. Do you want to try it?”
Ghost nodded and Soap charged him, getting to work. Since the place was abandoned so early in the morning, Ghost walked along the counter so they could talk.
“So, military. What position are you?”
“Lieutenant.”
“That where you get the scars from?” Soap looked at him curiously. He had such pretty eyelashes.
Ghost shrugged. “Some. The smile scars were from my service.”
“I see.” Soap looked even more curious, but he tamped it down. Ghost was grateful.
“I was…” He could do this. Before the military, he whored around quite a bit. This was easy. Just… Just flirt with the guy. They already maybe went on a date.
Soap finished the drink but hadn’t handed it over yet. “Yes, Simon?”
Ghost flushed and apparently it was bright enough it reached the skin around his eyes, because Soap perked up.
“Love making ye all flustered. Are you always this shy?”
What the fuck. Just form words. Form. Words.
Soap smirked at him but gave him time. It didn’t feel as mocking as it would from someone else. Instead, it just felt amused.
“I was wondering how long you’ve been working here?”
Soap visibly deflated. “Ah. Uh. Since I was…” He seemed to be doing some intense math. “8 years. I started at 16 and now I own it.”
“How did that happen?” Ghost looked curious.
“Long… long story. Not very entertaining either. Trust me.”
“I think I could listen to you talk no matter how boring the story.” Good job. A lot more suave than before.”
Soap blushed. “Later. I want to know more about you, sir.”
Ghost laughed. “At ease, soldier. And not really much to know. I’m boring.”
“Covered in scars and tall. Pretty brown eyes. I really doubt you could be boring.” Soap knew all the right things to make Ghost squirm.
Ghost went to take the cup from it.
“Tell me a secret.”
“A secret?”
“Yep. Just one.”
“A secret from you or something I’ve never told anyone?”
Soap grinned. “Something none of your friends right now knows. Opens up the path to so many childhood secrets.”
Ghost had to pause and really think. He decided to pretend Jason wouldn’t know all of his childhood secrets.
“When I was little. I was really scared of skulls.” Ghost stared at him.
Soap stared at him, clearly looking at the skull mask on his face rather than him. He then glanced at the skeleton gloves. Then back at his face. “Really?”
“Yep. Terrified of them. My dad had one that brother would wear to scare me. I eventually got over it. Now, tell me one.”
Soap hummed. “I…” He fiddled with one of the rings on his hand. “I haven’t talked to my family in a 8 years. I think about them a lot, but I can’t really… They…”
“I get it.” Ghost looked at him sadly. “Maybe not your reasons why. But I definitely get how sucky it can be to no longer be able to talk to your family.”
He thought of their little graves. Five. His mom, his brother, his sister in law and his nephew. And his of course. He hadn’t bothered to buy himself a tombstone though. He just had a little placard.
Soap smiled at him. He finally handed him the drink. He went to move away and Ghost didn’t want him to.
“Have you ever heard the saying two ships in the night?”
“I have.” Soap tilted his head. “Why?”
“What would you name your ship?”
Soap hummed. “The S.S. Seal.”
“I like it. You really like seals.”
Soap laughed. And laughed. And laughed.
Ghost couldn’t figure out the joke, but he smiled anyway. “Would you like to go out later?”
“Thought you would never ask, Ghostie.” Soap smiled at him. He looked so painfully soft.
Ghost’s wings twitched under his skin. That wasn’t… normal. He didn’t usually do that. “When do you get off tomorrow?”
“7.”
“You work twelve hour shifts?”
“Don’t want to hire anyone.” Soap smiled. “But I’ll see you at 7, yeah?”
Ghost nodded and look at the drink. The foam had been shaped in the form of a skull instead of a heart.
“Would’ve stuck to a heart if you would’ve told me your secret earlier.” Soap winced.
“Don’t worry. I like them now.” Ghost blushed more and then left. He texted to Koenig an apology and then talked to Jason. “What cool is happening right now?”
“Date with the barista?”
“Yep, hoping to score.”
“Hell yeah! There’s an underground concert, fair, and a bar with karaoke night.”
“The fair. What do you mean fair?”
“Oh. It’s ran by mythics, but its human friendly if your barista is human.”
“Good to know.” Ghost thought of those dart games and knew he had to do this. Soap would probably love it. He hoped. Maybe it was a bit cheesy for a first date though… “What band?”
“Sleep Token, but they’re here all week. Could get you tickets that you conveniently have?”
“You’re creepily good at being a wingman. Remind me to give you a single head pat when we see each other again.”
Jason sent back gifs of crying from happiness and Ghost ignored them. He instead went to drink his coffee. It was overly sweet, but he kinda liked it.
Ghost thought of Soap and felt his heart flutter. His wings twitched inside again. How frustrating. The man had such an effect on him. He couldn’t help but feel this pull.
Ghost switched his route to go to Jason’s instead. He didn’t want to go home.
Jason looked surprised but eager to get his one (1) head pat from Ghost. He took it with grace and promptly lit up a joint. Maybe Ghost should tell him no. Price drug tested him at random, but he knew weed wasn’t what he was looking for.
Jason held the joint out and Ghost lit it for him, blowing just a spark out so it would catch. “Your date isn’t tonight right?”
“No. Don’t worry.” Ghost took it from him and took a deep drag. He felt some of the anxiety roll off of him immediately, pretty sure half of it was the smell.
Jason leaned into him and Ghost let him. He closed his eyes to enjoy the warmth.
“Simon.” Jason whispered to him. “Don’t die on me. Yeah?”
Ghost laughed. “Not going to die on ya. Don't worry.”

"It’s because he’s doing some illegal Things (with Graves) as well :)" ELABERTIOJ PLS???
srry am drunl 😳
Yeah, I can definitely do that CW: Drug use and sex work
Price shouldn't. He knew that. But every week or two, he broke down and did this. Honestly, he didn't feel that guilty either. Just knew if this got out, he'd never live it down. His reputation would be ruined.
Graves arrived, smiling at him. "You called?"
"Get undressed." Price ordered, leaning against the wall.
Graves blushed and slowly took everything off, moving so Price could see very inch that he exposed. Little scars on his back. Freckles and beauty marks. Tight ass.
"Fucking hell."
"Love that no matter how many times I undress, you still get so excited." Graves commented, but Price could see the creeping blush. As much as he tried to pretend he was suave and experienced, Price did something to him. Made him a blushing fucking virgin. Or maybe that was part of the act. "Didn't prep myself. I know you wanted to last time."
Price took a deep drag of the cigar and set it down, putting Graves over his desk. "Pay a lot of money. Want to do exactly what I want. That's the point, right? The fantasy?"
Graves nodded and moved so his foot was on the edge of the desk. It gave Price a better view of him. His pupils were wider than normal. A clear sign he likely was not sober.
Price kissed him hard. "You're perfect, love."
Graves grinned and arched a little. "Will have to charge you, but you know that. You have the money right?"
Price ignored him in favor of kissing down his body. He wasn't sure which part would destroy his life faster. That he hired a prostitute or that he looked the other way at his drug use. Either way, he couldn't help himself. He sank to his knees and dragged Graves to the edge, ignoring his little squeal. His tongue squirmed it's way into Graves, his hands keeping him still so he couldn't escape it.
Graves twisted and writhed like an animal, never able to get more than an inch away.
Price quickly lost himself in the repetitive movements. Slowly using his tongue to break him open and get him prepped. After a moment, he pushed his finger in too, just to get him more open. He wants to own him. Every inch of skin. Every muscle that he can. Maybe he could just rip him to shreds or eat him whole. Run his tongue along his veins and drink him down.
Graves shuddered and tangled his fingers in his hair. "Come on now. You only have me tonight. I'm sure you want to actually fuck me."
Price bit the inside of his thigh as hard as he could, drawing blood. "Fuck off. I'm well aware."
Graves moaned, looking at the ceiling. "You're lucky I have a soft spot for you, John. Otherwise, I might not let you treat me like this. Such foul language. All your friends know how you treat me?"
Price licked over the bite. "No. That's why I hire you. Privacy."
"John. Hurry up. I'd like to get fucked some time today, please." Graves broke, not above begging. Never above begging. He wanted to be rearranged and broken in bed. Something John specialized in.
Price picked him up, balancing him so his legs were over his shoulders. He continued to eat him out as he walked, balancing him with ease. Graves squealed and squirmed, never happy about the fact that Price could carry him so easily. When he hit the bed, he bounced just a little before he just fell back into the bed.
Price pounced and grabbed the rope, easily tying Graves so he was bent in half. His knees were tied to his chest, leaving vulnerable.
"What do you fantasize about?" Graves asked as Price poured lube on himself. "Keeping twinks in your bed?"
"Not twinks. Just you. Just want you." One day, he swore he just wasn't going to let him leave. Would keep him tied up until he promised he'd be his sugar baby. Or maybe just his pet. Either way. As long as he got all of him. Could douse the dark feeling in his chest. Maybe he could finally be human all the time when he could come home and take as much pleasure as he wanted.
Graves flushed. "You flatter me." He exposed his throat and Price nipped it as he pushed in. He was purposely a bit rougher, stretching him just right. A little pain always made Graves melt. His body bending and trying to take even more if he could. "Not so deep."
Price thrust in hard and fit his hand around his throat. He squeezed hard to watch Graves's eyelashes flutter. "Gorgeous." He thrust in harder, ignoring the littler whimper. His cock leaked on to both of their stomachs, hard and red at the tip. "You enjoy this so much. Little whore."
Graves gasped and his eyes rolled back as Price hit the right spot. He cruelly teased him, hitting it once, twice, missing it entirely. Until Graves was trying to angle himself to get it right. Tears filled his eyes, but Price focused on just dragging it out. Letting him get riled up.
"John, please."
Price missed again, going as deep as he could instead.
"Lover boy, come on!"
Dirty trick. Evil honestly.
Price wrapped his arms around him and drove into him over and over and over again. Right there for him. Graves gasped and tried to catch his breath, tears flowing down his face.
Gorgeous.
He came all over himself. Price licked a stripe up the cum on his chest before he came inside him. Coating his insides in it. Graves fluttered around him, biting his lip as he gazed up at Price.
"One day, I'll convince you to never leave."
Graves stared up at him. Something like pity in his drugged up eyes. "I'm sure."

Hazelnut Truffle Mocha
What do you guys think Koenig is? Just curious on what you guys would predict
Alejandro left eventually, saying something about making good on his promise to bring Rodolfo lunch. Ghost stayed for a few hours.
It wasn’t just Soap that made him stay. He didn’t have anywhere to be. His social battery had hit zero at 5:01 am that morning. While he could go back to his flat, that also didn’t seem like a good option.
So Ghost stayed in the dark corner of the cafe, watching the patrons. A lady with big bracelets that jingled talked animatedly with Soap. Another man trying to flirt with him that Ghost noticed he brushed off. Interesting. Teens and old people alike, ebbing and flowing. Until around 2 pm, the place cleared out. Ghost blinked at the clock, wondering how he spent almost six hours without moving before letting out a huff, watching his breath cloud up.
Oh. It was cold. No wonder he felt like this. He also hadn’t eaten and despite the nausea at the idea of forcing something down, the headache building at his temples was enough to convince him he had to.
Ghost went to stand up and accidentally pressed right into Soap who had walked right up to him at some point. They were chest to chest. Soap felt rather cold, even this close, but Ghost chalked it up to him having been outside recently.
He realized they were still touching. Soap had turned bright red, freezing in place. Ghost gently pushed him since he didn’t have room to move away.
Finally, his barista seemed to reorganize his thoughts and back up. “Uh… I was just… um.”
“Yes, Johnny?”
Soap looked up at him. “I was wondering if you’re hungry? You’ve been here a while.”
“It’s like you read my mind. Yeah.”
“I was planning on closing the cafe for an hour so I can go eat… Did you want to come with me?” Soap looked up at him.
Ghost hummed. “Do you not get free food here?”
“Oh, I do. Just so many times I can eat my own baking though…” Soap smiled.
“You make everything here?”
“Almost everything! I get some of the pastries from a bakery close by. I don’t think I could make thirty croissants a day. Might go insane.” Soap smiled. It was stunning. It softened his features, not so much as to make him look younger, but more to make him look relaxed. Ghost wanted to see it all the time.
They went to a nearby restaurant and sat together. It only really occurred to Ghost that this was likely a date. Checked all the required boxes for a date. They were alone. There was food. Soap had asked.
Ghost decided not to ask, just in case it wasn’t. He stared at him, realizing that unlike with the drinks, he’d have to keep his mask up for more than a few seconds at a time.
Ah. Sorta backed himself into a corner. He fidgeted under the table.
Soap noticed immediately. “Why do you wear the mask?”
“I have some… scarring. It’s not pretty.”
“Are you nervous about me seeing?”
“Nervous about anyone seeing…” Ghost answered honestly. Soap felt easy. Honesty came naturally.
Soap looked very curious, though Ghost noticed how… sad his eyes looked. They were beautiful. A soft blue that he could live in. Soft lashes that fanned across his cheeks when he blinked. A scar across a small part of his face that he wondered about. The rest of his face was gorgeous of course, but right now, in this lighting, he couldn’t drag his gaze away from Soap’s.
Behind those eyes were dark pools. Ghost had gotten used to seeing shell shocked men with nothing behind their eyes, but it usually faded. It certainly was not present in situations such as these. And yet, Soap’s eyes were still empty.
“Were you listening to me?” Soap said gently, leaning in.
“What?”
Soap laughed, luckily. Ghost hadn’t made a good impression if this was a good date. “I said I’ll try not to look too much, but I don’t think scarring is too bad. Bet your handsome under there.”
Flirting. Soap was flirting and Ghost didn’t know how to flirt.
“Well, I doubt anyone will look at me with you next to me.” Ghost looked at him, making eye contact again. He saw Soap’s eyes flicker, something a little softer appearing before reverting back.
“Think I’m that handsome?”
“Yes.” Ghost didn’t have to think about it.
Soap blushed and looked away. They ate together and it felt… nice. Soap was the main talker. Mostly about his job or customers before switching to what he had watched lately. Apparently, he had recently watched a movie about a woman trying to avenge her friend by going on a killing spree. He didn’t catch the name, but that was an excuse to talk to him later. It sounded like the kind of movie Ghost would like. True to his word, Soap’s eyes stayed on his own food or Ghost’s eyes, only occasionally glancing to his mouth, but never lingering. Ghost started to feel a bit guilty for his rather obvious staring.
His scars itched. The large Glasgow smile. Soap grew up in Scotland, so he probably had seen them before, but Ghost’s were so jagged. Traced over and a lot thicker than most people’s. Not to mention the snake bite scars from an… incident when he was a little kid. They weren’t like Soap’s soft well healed scar. They were all bad. They healed wrong and ugly. Ghost tried not to think about them too much.
“This was really fun, but i have to get back now. Work calls.” Soap stood up and went to pay.
“I got it, don’t worry.” Ghost pulled out some pounds.
Soap shook his head. “Absolutely not! I ordered more expensive stuff anyway.”
“Yeah, but I never spend money, I have plenty.”
“You don’t know much I make.” Soap shot back. “I’ll pay.”
“I’m in the military. I go on leave like six weeks a year so I have plenty.” Ghost insisted.
The waitress came back. “I thought your checks were supposed to be split…”
Oh. Right. Ghost knew neither had said that, but from the outside view, they probably looked like two friends.
They were technically two friends.
Fuck, was this a date??
Soap began laughing. “Oh… Uh… I’ll pay mine then.” He glanced at Ghost before leaving, brushing against him just a little.
Ghost felt like he was walking on air. The waitress though had continued to stare at him.
“Oh, let me…” He handed her a rather large tip and her eyes widened before she nodded rather conspiratorially, as if she had picked up on something that Ghost hadn’t. For a moment, he considered asking her if everything was alright, but she had already left and he was pretty sure it was just the bored imagination of a war machine, looking for something to do when there was none.
Ghost stretched and went home, texting with Koenig.
Koenig was going on and on about this Gumiho he had met that he was infatuated with. “He’s kinda small and he constantly wears a mask and sunglasses, but he has these gorgeous fluffy ears and nine tails and he’s just so pretty.”
“Gonna ask him out?” Ghost like Koenig fine, but he acted so different over text. Less anxious. He thought it was funny.
“I will… attempt. He’s a bit intimidating.”
“Be careful when you kiss. He may kill you when you do.”
“I’d let him.”
Ghost blinked. Ah. He forgot his buddy had a death wish.
“Have you found anyone to keep you entertained over your leave? A… what did Price call it… a fling?”
Ghost paused. Should he talk about Soap? Koenig talked to him about almost everything.
“There’s… a guy.”
“Oh? Magic too? Find him at an underground place?”
Ghost never really bothered, but he knew a few places around that were filled with non humans. Bars that kept humans out of them. Places to meet creatures that were alike. He didn’t go to them often, usually for hookups if he was honest. Humans were fine, but it was difficult to explain why they couldn’t touch his things and why he stole their fancy gold watch or why his teeth looked so sharp. They always had so many questions.
“No. Human as far as I can see. He’s nice. Wears gold jewelry all the time.”
“How stereotypical of you. Jewelry really was the first thing you noticed?”
“Yes. Also, he’s very…” Ghost deleted the last part of the message and tried again. “He’s so…” Another deleted message. “His name is Johnny.” Yeah, that works.
“Johnny? English?”
“Scottish. His accent is nice. He’s a little difficult to understand at times, but we can move past that.”
“I’m happy for you, friend!”
“Thank you. I had a… date? I think. He invited me with him and we talked.”
“Ah.”
Ghost frowned at that message, staring at it. “What the fuck does that mean?”
“Oh. Nothing. Nothing.”
“No, no. You’re clearly thinking something.”
“I am happy for you. You’ve seen better recently.”
Ghost swallowed. He didn’t want to think about it. Just drop the conversation. Just drop the conversation.
“Better?”
“I am sorry, Ghost…”
“Better than what.”
“I just meant I am happy you are doing well.”
“Why the fuck wouldn’t I?”
Koenig stopped responding.
Ghost knew what he was talking about. Of course he did. He had been doing well recently. Doing all the stupids steps to take care of himself. During Christmas, he stayed on a solo mission far away from any celebrations. He avoided thinking about his family. He tried to try new things and get out of the house and talk to people and and and and and
Ghost took a deep breath, counting. He hated that was an instinct he had now. It was nice to not spiral, but he hated that he had been changed like that. Stupid fucking therapy.
Ghost took a deep breath. He wanted to be angry. To keep lashing out. But that wasn’t helpful.
Koenig didn’t mean any harm. He was just… checking on him. Like everyone was. All watching him like a ticking time bo-
Ghost groaned and started to count again. He tapped his foot as he impatiently waited for his stupid feelings to calm down.
Another reason it would not be good for him to every truly date Soap. No reason to drag him down into his giant mess. Ghost was a bundle of spikes. Full of problems and venom. The last thing he wanted was for someone else to get hurt by their proximity to him.
