One of the best things about Scrooge McDuck is that the dude is fucking unhinged and very paranoid. If he just thinks you plan to steal his money he will not hesitate to blow your brains out

I've been reading Carl Barks' christmas comics, and came to conclusion that A Letter to Santa must be one of the funniest thing that I've ever come across.
I just adore the dynamics between Donald and Scrooge in this comic. First they fight, then solve their differences, then fight again, them team up, then fight some more... it's a never-ending cycle. This is one of those comics where these two character feel equals, and I'm all for it.
I didn't want to post the whole comic here, but these are my favourite parts:
Tumblr media
Donald's misunderstanding and the man carrying presents.
Tumblr media
The great money bag fight.
Tumblr media
Famous steam shovel fight, where neither of them can claim to hold the moral higher ground...
Tumblr media
Scrooge giving the judge extra, just in case. Also, the peaceful way he and Donald are acting towards each other, like this was just a common occurence.
Tumblr media
The whole Santa -scheme.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A true comedic masterpiece.
Tumblr media
Too many Santa's.
Tumblr media
They are both so stupid and I adore them.

I love that Carl Barks gave us that one canon character who even Donald was willing to ditch Daisy for. And this is no exaggeration. Let me introduce you guys to Rockhead Rooster. He appears in Daisy Duck's Diary: Double Date.
Tumblr media
And, yes, that is a MAN. He was supposed to be Clara Cluck's date in a double date alongside Daisy but things take a turn as the two men realize that they actually find each other more interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So interesting that they ended up ignoring their dates completely.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It came to the point that they even started dancing with each other instead of dancing with Daisy and Clara Cluck. As if that wasn't enough, even after conceding, they found a way to dance with their respective dates and still talk to each other.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell, they were even willing to give their dates away to other men just so they can spend more time with each other.
Tumblr media
Rockhead Rooster will only have minor appearances outside of this comic and it seems publications either color him in white and red or brown.
Tumblr media
But Rockhead's such a great character. Even though he only appeared once, fans of the Barks comics will never forget how this man easily won the heart of our favorite unlucky duck.
If you want to see the story with Rockhead and Donald Duck check out "Walt Disney's Donald Duck "Under the Polar Ice": The Complete Carl Barks Disney Library Vol. 23."
