People's Choice Awards x Crime TV Series

Having seen multiple posts on Twitter about people on TikTok questioning how popular crime shows like Bones and Castle are, I decided to look at the People's Choice Awards. The PCAs are held annually and next year's ceremony will be their 50th anniversary. These awards are voted for by the fans and cover 4 main categories - Film, TV, Music and Pop Culture.

I discovered that from 2006 - 2017, the categories in the PCAs included Favourite TV Crime Drama and Favourite TV Crime Drama Actor & Actress. This shows how these crime shows were a staple of popular television at the time whereas the 2024 categories included The Bingeworthy Show of the Year and The Drama TV Star of the Year.

I decided to make a spreadsheet to illustrate how so many great crime shows were nominated in the same categories! There are a few years between 2006-2011 that are not included because none of the shows on this list were nominated. If the box is green, all the categories in that box were won by that specific show. If the cell is red, the show was nominated but did not win.

The corpse of Jimmy, a baker popular for cupcakes, is found in his industrial dough mixer. His apprentice, Todd, noticed someone in a vintage muscle car, before being sent away. The car was identified as belonging to Irish mob boss Robert 'Bobby S.' Shannon. After FBI agent Sam Walker tells the team that Jimmy was his informant, Ryan astounds everyone by revealing he had been undercover in that gang years ago. And, to save a friend, chooses to revive his alias, Fenton, and go back undercover.

*This episode begins with a cupcake cake reading "Happy 99th" on the victim's table of baked goods. This is the 99th episode of Castle.

Anwar El-Masri pays 15 million euro ransom for the kidnapped girls, but only his daughter ,Sara, is released. FBI Agent Harris must wait days for red tape before the FBI and NYPD can actively search for Alexis in Paris. So Castle goes alone and hires, through a friend, shady problem solver Jacque Henri and his tech sidekick 'la taupe'. They find where the girls were held and arrange another exchange for Alexis. Castle brings $3,000,000 to the exchange but is surprised by first a betrayal and then by the mystery man that saves him. Finding out what is really going on, that Alexis was the target in the kidnapping, who the mystery man is, who is holding Alexis and why, goes back to the very beginning for Castle.

*Detective Beckett comments that Agent Harris' estimation of the search area (30 sq. kilometers) is the entire city of Paris. In reality, Paris has an area of 41 sq. miles (104 sq. kilometers).

my little pony tales is so funny like as a concept. every other mlp show or movie to ever exist is just about ponies having a good time and being best friends and if they ever are put in any actual danger then the problem is solved with the power of peace and love and friendship or something. then theres my little pony tales where one of the episodes just ends with the protagonists blackmailing people as a solution to their problems and this is treated as if its ok
